The Looming Government Shutdown

Good morning, Cooner. Contrary, you know, my friends, there's a
very famous saying, and I adhere to at one thousand percent,
when your political enemy is in the process of destroying themselves,
lighting themselves on fire, just get out of the way.

Just get out of the way. And that is exactly
now what we are watching with the Democrats as we
now approach a government shutdown. So here is now the
absolute latest, my friends, tonight at midnight, to be exact
tonight twelve oh one am, so technically it will be

(00:46):
Wednesday morning. But basically, in about eighteen hours, we are
going to have our first government shutdown in seven years.
And this shutdown is going to be very different from
previous shutdowns. This time, the Republicans control the White House,

they control the House of Representatives, they control the Senate,
they control it all. And the party now that is
pushing triggering this shutdown, in fact voting for this shutdown,
are the Democrats. And they believe in their thinking that
by forcing a government shutdown that they are now going

(01:31):
to appease their radical left base, which now wants to
stand up and slap Trump in the face. They want
to humiliate him. They believe now that by having a
government shutdown, the public will blame the President and the
Republicans and not the Democrats. And the Democrats are trying

(01:51):
to make healthcare the issue. This is apparently the hill
they believe they can fight on, die on, and win.
And so here is now exactly what is taking place.
The Republican House passed what's called a clean continuing resolution. Essentially,

(02:13):
in a nutshell, it funds the government. It's a stopgap measure.
It funds the government at Biden spending levels. So what
you now saying, I've seen the Republicans pass are spending
levels that were agreed to buy the Democrats and set.

(02:35):
The terms were set by Joey. So there are no cuts.
There's not a single cut. And the Republicans said, okay,
the deadline is September thirtieth. We want to negotiate a
full year spending bill for all of next year, but
we don't want to do it being held hostage under

(02:58):
the threat the proverbial gun to the head of the
Democrats threatening a shutdown. That's no way to negotiate a
spending bill. So we'll pass what's called a CR, a
continuing resolution, which would continue to fund the government for
another seven weeks, i e. All the way to the

(03:19):
late November November twenty one. To be technical, at current
biden eras spending levels, there's no cuts. There's no cuts.
In fact, what we've been operating on is what they're
going to be. That's exactly the same amount of money
that they're going to be operating on for the next

seven weeks. It passed the House with complete opposition from
the Democrats, with the exception of one Outside of that,
every Democrat voted against the continuing resolution. They want a shutdown. However,
enough for Republicans supported it. Now it went to the Senate.

But it's different in the Senate. As all of you
know there, on most pieces of legislation, including this one,
you need sixty votes because of the filibuster. Republicans have
fifty three votes. It's not enough. They need seven Democrats
to join to across the aisle to come on board.
Schumer now is refusing to budge. He told every Democrat

hold the line vote against the continuing resolution. That means
the Democrats are voting for a shutdown. They met yesterday
with President Trump. There was a huge meeting in the
White House. Hakeem Jeffries, the House Minority Leader, Chuck U. Schumer,

(04:52):
the Senate Minority Leader for the Democrats, Speaker Mega Mike,
Minnie Mike as I like to call him, Mike, John Usen,
how speaker was there, sent a Majority Leader John Thune,
and of course President Trump. And after hours and hours
of negotiating, of haggling, of discussing, they walked out and

both sides said, we are going to have a shutdown.
It is now all but inevitable. And when you ask yourself,
when everything is said and done, what are the Democrats'
fundamental demands they are holding now the country hostage. They
are now going to plunge us into a shutdown. That

means most non essential services will not be funded. That
means our military is not going to get paid. Remember,
in parts of the country, as I pointed out on
x last night, millions of Americans are now going to
be going through hurricane season with this government shutdown, they

will not have access to flood insurance. So why are
the Democrats risking to paralyze the country and potentially do
immense damage to the country because they want the Republicans
to agree listen to this? On a massive one point,

five trillion dollar spending increase on healthcare one point five
trillion dollars, my friends, and what do they want to
spend this one point five trillion on healthcare? Four? You
may ask, now, get ready, because you're gonna throw up

your breakfast. I don't eat. My strong recommendation is right now.
Please take a breath, sip some coffee, don't eat, because
it's gonna come out. It's coming up, It's coming up.
They want want to spend billions and billions and billions
of dollars on free healthcare to illegal aliens. They want

to spend billions and billions of dollars on Listen to this,
free transgender surgeries for children, sex change operations on children
free are taxpayer dollars. So they want us to fund

free healthcare free legals. They want us to fund free
transgender surgeries for children. And this is the hill they
want to die on. By the way, they want to
restore all funding. What this has to do with healthcare?
I have no idea. They want to restore all funding
to PBS and NPR, and they want to rack up

another They're one point five trillion dollars to the budget deficit,
gay to the overall debt. Now, as jd Vance rightly
said after yesterday's here, I'm a meeting over our dead body.
The President will not support this under any conditions. The
Republicans will not support this under any conditions. But if

the Democrats want to negotiate a bipartisan solution to fund
the government properly next year, to do a big spending bill,
then we can do it, but first pass the continuing resolution,
so we are not negotiating against the clock and adding

this monstrosity, this one point five trillion dollar monstrosity, onto
the backs of the American people, where we don't even
have time to look at the details or to see
the implications or the consequences or but the hell is
in this massive bill that they want to add on
to this continuing resolution. This is no way to run

a government, This is no ray to run health care policy.
And Schumer's answer again yesterday yet forget funding the government
for seven weeks. He doesn't even want to stopgap measure
that funds the government for seven days, meaning the Democrats

are itching for a shutdown. My response, bring it on.
If I'm President Trump, if I'm jd Vance, if I'm
the Republicans in the House and the Senate. If the
Democrats want to commit suicide political suicide, let him do it,

because Schumer is going to own this shutdown. The Democrats
are going to own this shutdown. They wanted it and
now they're going to get it. And the American people
are going to to ask our troops aren't getting paid,
non essential services aren't being funded. The government is again

gonna be shut down for what? Two weeks, three weeks,
four weeks, five weeks? How long is this going to
go on? And you're gonna do this for what? So
we can send billions and billions of our taxpayer dollars
to give free healthcare to illegals. I don't have free

health care. Do you have free healthcare? Most Americans don't
have free health care? Why the hell should illegal aliens
get free health care that we pay for? This is sick.
Why the hell should I be paying for the genital
mutilation of twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen year old kids? They

if they want to have a sex change operation, let
their parents pay for it. Why should I or you
with a tax players pay for it. So here we are,
we're less than twenty four hours away. From another government shutdown,
and this one could last a while, this one, this one,

the seven week period for a full year spending bill

Schumer is telling them it's now or never either you
agree to a one point five trillion dollar that's with
the T not b T trillion dollar massive healthcare spending
package now, like within the next couple of hours. You know,

you don't look, you don't have time to look at
the details. You don't have time to look at the
you know, who gets what? How is this going to
be laid out? And how is this going to be formulated,
and what's what's actually in this package and all the details? No, no, no, no,
you know you know what one point five trillion dollar
spending packages. It has to be now under the threat

of a shutdown, to gun to the head or by
midnight tonight, everything is going to come to a stop.
And what the Democrats now are openly championing is free healthcare,
not free taxpayer funded healthcare free legal aliens for them.

It's absolutely free for us. We're paying for it. And
by the way, to the two ande of hundreds of
billions of dollars. They also want to provide taxpayer our
money free sex change operations, transgender surgeries for miners, for
miners across the entire country. They also want to extend

the Obamacare subsidies. I mean, I could go on and on.
There's a lot more to it, but those are the
two or some of the two most controversial provisions. And
so I want to ask all of you should illegal
aliens receive free healthcare? Should you? And I should? The

pay for illegal aliens to have free healthcare? This is
not a rhetorical debate. This is not a theoretical debate.
This is literally what the Democrats are now pushing. So

Democrats say yes, they want you and I to spend
billions and billions of our taxpayer dollars to fund sex
change operations or puberty blockers or chemical castration for miners

for this? I say, again, these people are insane. Now,
what the good thing about it is? Again, this is
an eighty twenty issue. The American people are against the
Democrats on this eighty and if the Republicans just have

this is all about, then they're gonna slaughter them in
this shutdown. I'm telling you, the Democrats now are gonna
get politically destroyed by this. Now, Trump and Vance, Vance
in particular is taking the lead. Vance has been monumental.

He's been incredible the last forty eight to seventy two hours.
Vance has told Schumer to his face. He's told Jeffries,
no deal, no way, Jose absolutely not, Mike Johnson, Thune.
The Republicans, both in the House and in the Senate
are holding the line with Trump. They are not gonna

blink now, and they're daring the Democrats. You want to
shut it down, it's your shutdown. You own it. And
if this is the hill you want to die on,

list of all these things that need to be fund
to do, like paying our troops. Put a bill up,

on it, and let's see how many Democrats don't vote

get them all through. Walk in there with forty bills. Say,

first bill up, pay the troops. Next pill up national parks,
next pill up medicaid. Let's do these things individually, vote
on them, get everybody on the record what they actually
want to vote for. And when the Democrats don't vote
for it, say hey, look we try to fund these
national parks, but every single Democrat.

parks open? In other words, have them vote on bill

With the Democrats now saying their redline is not just

but that there has to be hundreds of billions of
dollars of a taxpayer dollars to fund free healthcare for

we have to pay for this. This is their line

and that illegals and other special interest groups are first

if you went in and you said I want to
pass the bill, that said it's a felony to torture puppies.
You know, everybody be like, I'm totally in favor of that,
but the Democrats would flight in that bill, ten million
illegal aliens get amnesty. So then when you don't vote

for it, they run on a podium and they say
Republicans hate puppies.

for much of our history, that's exactly how Congress was run.
Individual spending bills, you know, and you're not adding all

as you put them, but they call them riders. All
this other stuff they just you know, not just pork
barrel spending, but all these other things that have nothing
to do with the bill, and they just load it

to know that I'm out on the streets. I live
on the you know, on a cardboard box. And my
blood pressure went through the roof. And Sandy and I spoke,

sleep with a roof and a nice comfortable bed, a
clean bed. And then I contacted other people and he
gets three square meals a day, and then I contacted
other people who then drive Emp to the VA for
