Speaker 1 (00:00):
The next question is who's in charge of Venezuela right now?
Have you spoken to the newly sworn in president there Rodriguez,
And what are your thoughts on the entire situation when
you said the US would run Venezuela.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
We're dealing with the people.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
We're dealing with the people. They just got supported.
Speaker 4 (00:15):
And don't ask me who's in judge, because I'll give
you an answer and it'll be.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Very contu version. What is that means?
Speaker 1 (00:23):
We're a judge? Have you spoken with her?
Speaker 5 (00:25):
We're in judge?
Speaker 6 (00:26):
Have you spoken with her?
Speaker 1 (00:27):
No? No, I haven't, but other people will want to.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Yeah, at the right time, I.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Will wow A twenty on the Great WRKO Jeff coon
Er Boston's bulldozer. This was President Trump on Air Force
one on his way back from mar A Lago to
the White House. This was I believe yesterday and saying, look,
you want the cat out of the bag. We're in charge.
(00:54):
So the Maduro's vice president, her name is Rodriguez, Maybe
she was sworn in, maybe she's the the facto president.
But I'm telling you we're calling the shots in Caracas.
And so my question to you, do you support Trump's
decision to overthrow maduro A. B ugh, if we're running Venezuela,
(01:18):
as Trump just said, and of course I believe them,
because we are running Venezuela. Are we now in the
imperialism game? Is this now the United States turning Venezuela
into our protectorate where we now are going to develop
their oil, We're going to develop their economy, We're going
to help rebuild Venezuela. How much money is this going.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
To cost us?
Speaker 2 (01:42):
This potentially could cost us tens and tens of billions
of dollars money that frankly, we don't have money that
could be used here in the United States. And if
American soldiers start to die because we have to put
boots on the ground owned to police Venezuela to restore
(02:03):
order instability to Venezuela, is it worth the loss of
an American soldier? If this was your son or your daughter,
should they die for Venezuela? Six one seven two six,
six sixty eight sixty eight is the number? Okay, let's
(02:23):
go to Arthur in Chestnut Hill. Thanks for holding Arthur and.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Welcome, saying, said Jeff Well. I think this should be
looked at as a proud and wonderful day for America
and for what we can do in this country if
we put our mind to it. For most of my
life I've heard about a war on drugs, but there
(02:50):
was no war on drugs. Finally we had a president
with the guts to go fight the war on drugs.
Just the way you fight a war, you go after
the people who bring it here. Well, I've seen so
many people affected by drugs. And if you don't want
to take my word for it, go down to Bollinia
Cats Boulevard, Go down by Newmarket Square, go down by
(03:12):
Albany Street, go in all these uh uh cities in
the country where you have all these homeless cities, Well,
who do you think those people are? And that's just
the people you see, never mind the affluent families who
have been stricken by the scurge of drugs. It is
It is despicable what these people there. They turn our
(03:34):
people into their life is over once they get hooked
on that pretty much for the most partect cooks and
and he's turned around, and he's and he's turning and
and use special forces. And I thought they should have
done this all along. Go into the places like Columbia
and go into places like uh uh, Mexico and use
(03:57):
our intelligence and go after these people. This is something
that needed to stop a long time ago. And we've
got so many politicians and I'm sure they were probably
all on the democratic democratic side, because that's the most
criminal enterprise, uh in the world, taking get taking money
(04:18):
and getting rich off of drugs. You know that this
is why for for for a long time, a lot
of people didn't want to do anything about it because
too many people were making were getting rich of it.
But the affect that's out of this country, it has
been has been devastating. And then and God bless uh
(04:40):
uh that's Trump. This is one of the greatest things
he's done. But but what are we giving these people
trials for? They don't deserve trials. This is terrorism. When
are we going to turn around and change our laws
about terrorists. We're stupid in the way we give people
rights who don't deserve rights. You know, rights are for
(05:00):
American citizens, not terrorists terrorists, and we should stop wasting
our time. You know, our judicial system in this country
is a joke. It's ridiculous. And and if we're going
to have a trial and in New York City. What
the hell are we bringing him to New York City
for to begin with? You know, we do this to
(05:21):
ourselves all the time when we we we we set
ourselves up for controversy. And you want to know who,
and you're going to find out and we already know
they're starting to speak out the UH about this operation.
Every every politician who's against it, that's a trader, that's
somebody who's making money off of it. And this is
(05:44):
this is how you this is how you find out
who the people are because you're you're either with its
right drug dealers or or you're with UH, you know,
helping American children who get who get hooked on drugs.
And I've known so many families devastated, people who've even
(06:05):
would work for me in the past. You can't imagine
how how families are destroyed, especially tarns who see who
am helpless they help their children. If you haven't seen
it first and over and over again, you can't you
(06:26):
can't really relate to it. And it's one of the
saddest things that's happened to this country. And God bless
Donald's Trump. Now he's not going to make a Venezuela greater.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
I mean, I hope you're right. I mean, I hope
it's just the way he likes to phrase things. In
other words, we're going to be in, We're going to
be out. Six one seven two six, six, sixty eight.
Sixty eight is the number. Okay, do you support Trump's
decision to depose Maduro and his wife, both of whom
obvious they were involved in narco terrorism and massive international
(07:05):
cocaine trafficking and really ran Venezuela right into the ground.
Impoverished Venezuela, Maduro and his predecessor, Chavez, turned one of
the wealthiest, most prosperous, fledgling democracies in all of Latin
America and turned it into an absolute Third World hell hole.
(07:29):
Eight million migrants fled Venezuela, not just to the United States,
to neighboring countries, it didn't matter. They went to Mexico,
they went to Chile, they went to Argentina, they went
to Brazil. All this guy was he couldn't export the
oil because they destroyed that infrastructure and mismanaged it. But
(07:53):
all they were able to export was people. So you know,
by the way, I'm looking at video right now, which
the media is refusing not to show.
Speaker 7 (08:04):
Of.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
I mean, Caracas is there are There's at least a
million people on the streets. It is an army of
people waving Venezuelan flags, chanting, cheering, Venezuela Libra, Venezuela, Libra,
Venezuela is free, in clear support of Maduro being ousted.
So there's no love for Maduro among the Venezuelan people,
(08:27):
There's no question. And it's not just in Miami, and
it's not just in Las Vegas, and it's not just
among Venezuelans all across Latin America who've been forced to
leave their homeland. This is Venezuela itself. The people are celebrating,
They are cheering the downfall of this communist despot and
(08:50):
narco terrorists six one seven two six six sixty eight
sixty eight. So please, I don't want to come across
as cold hearted. If I was a Venezuelan, yeah, before it,
you better believe it. I'd before it. I'm just worried
about what happens next and whether ultimately this is in
(09:12):
our interest six one seven two six six sixty eight
sixty eight. Deb in New Hampshire, thanks for holding Deb.
Speaker 6 (09:22):
And welcome, good morning Jeff, and welcome back, happy helping
new year to Coon, Thank you.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Thank you, Deb, Happy new year, all the best to
you and your family.
Speaker 6 (09:32):
Thank you, kind sir. So, here's the deal, Jeff and
I love you with all my heart and your wife
Gracie in a non sexual way. But listen up. China,
Russia and Iran have been over there in Brazil for
a very very long time. We are rooting out the
illegal immigrants. We're getting them out of our country right.
(09:52):
But this is a geopolitical master stroke. I don't know
how you're not seeing this, though you are, and you
choose not to discuss it for the sake of the show.
Will we have no country jet, We will have no
country to secure if we lose the Western hemisphere to
China and Iraq, and Russia's over there too. I ain't
so worried about him. All he wants is oil. But
give me our thoughts on China and Iraq that want
(10:14):
global dominion, They want our western hemisphere. This is a
global geopolitical master stroke by my president, our president. How
can you not see this? Do you think that he
really is a colonialist?
Speaker 3 (10:26):
No?
Speaker 6 (10:27):
This is to preserve our Western hemisphere. We cannot have
it overrun by the Chinese and the Iraqians, Iernians, whatever
hell they are.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Right.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Well, look, deb look, I understand your point of view.
And Rubio, I think, has been very eloquent. He's made
a very similar argument. And haig Seth has done the same.
And the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Dan Kane. I mean, look,
this would be my response. It's not that I don't
see it, Look don't I just don't see an imperative
(10:59):
for us to do something like this. And I'll tell
you why. The Iranian regime now is on the ropes.
Their economy is in free fall, their currency is collapsing
as we speak. The country now is ravaged by some
of the biggest protests in decades. They're talking now that
the Supreme Leader may be forced to leave Iran and
(11:22):
fly to Moscow. So Iran has been shattered. Trump broke
their back when he bombed their Iranian nuclear facility. Their
proxies Hamas and Hezbollah have been destroyed. The Iranian economy
now is in complete shambles. So Iran does not pose
a threat to US in the Western Hemisphere. Now Iran
(11:44):
has been in Venezuela for twenty five years. Russia has
been in Venezuela for twenty five years. China has been
in Venezuela for twenty five years. So we've managed to
live with them in Venezuela for twenty five years. Russia
now has been severely weakened with the war with Iran.
(12:06):
China now because of Trump and the tariffs and the
economic pressure we've put on China. China now is weaker
now than it has been in years. So when you
say to me or people say to me, well, Jeff,
aren't you worried about Hesbela, Yes, but there's more Hezbolah
in the United States than there is in Venezuela. That
(12:29):
Hezbolah came in through Joe Biden, through our southern border.
So if we're gonna fight Hesbelah, forget Venezuela, fight him here.
China has bought up so much of the United States,
forget Venezuela. They own half of Congress. They're snatching up
farmland right near military bases. So you know, we have
(12:54):
so many domestic problems that I'm looking at Venezuela and
I'm like, and we got to take on Venezuela. Now
it's not Look the easy part and it was a
brilliant there's no question. But the easy part is to
kick a dictator out. That's the easy part. The hard
part is running a country, and from our experience, we
(13:18):
have not been good at that. We just haven't. We haven't.
Now everyone says, well Trump is different, Well we'll see,
but look, I think he's biting off. Frankly, I think
he's biting off more than he can chew. And what
also concerns me, and I was going to get to
this in the next segment, but since you mentioned a
deb it's not even one and done. I'll read to you.
(13:42):
Trump came out on truth Social last night and said
we now have to take over Greenland, and then on
Air Force One he was asked about this and he said, well,
in the wake of what we just did in Venezuela,
we're now going to potentially make a move on Greenland.
And Greenland is owned by Denmark. Well, the Europeans are
(14:04):
going ballistic, so we're now going to make a move
on den on Greenland. Now he's talking about toppling the
Colombian regime. Now, Rubio has come out and said that China, sorry,
that Cuba better watch itself because we may overthrow their government.
Deb This is George W.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
Bush.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
This is Bushism. This is not trump Ism. This is
a This is George Bush's foreign policy. This is warmongering,
This is militarism, this is neo conservatism. This is US
now getting involved in the regime change business. And I
(14:50):
think we're gonna find out. I don't care who the
president is. When you start taking responsibility for entire other countries,
you're asking, you're begging trouble. And if things were so
great at home, I'd say, well, okay, but man, we've
(15:11):
got a thirty seven to thirty eight trillion dollar national debt.
We've got thirty million illegals that still haven't been deported.
We've got a cost of living crisis that has now
cost to Republicans what is it now, three elections. That's
what got Mamdani elected in New York. You've got polls
now saying that at this pace, Trump is going to
(15:33):
get slaughtered in the midterms because the American people are
disaffected with the way he's handling the economy, and they
perceive that he's too involved in foreign affairs. I see
No arrests over Russia, the Russia collusion hoax, No arrests
over January sixth, how they tried to frame the president.
(15:55):
I see no deep state criminals being arrested. The swamp
is as strong as ever, the deep state is as
strong as ever. So all I'm saying is, honestly, I
did not vote for US to take over Venezuela. Now
as a Venezuelan, I'd love it. As an American. What's
(16:16):
in it for me? Well, Hesbola, yeah, but we have
Hesbala here. Well, China, yeah, but they've been there twenty
five years. Russia, they've been there twenty five years. So
what has changed that all of a sudden we had
to make a move on Maduro and I there's no
(16:38):
so far, I haven't heard a compelling reason from this
administration why we had to do this now? Why now? Like,
what's what has changed in the last two months that
this has now become such a prerogative. Now I was
four blowing up the boats, blow up the votes. I
don't care. I don't want drugs coming in. But we
(16:59):
went from blowing up the boats to blowing up the
country and now we're running the place Okay, just give
me a couple of minutes and then I want to
go right back to the phone lines. So President Trump, now,
it's very clear, is laying down the Trump corollary to
(17:20):
the Monroe doctrine. It's very clear. This is a new
foreign policy doctrine that we are seeing born in front
of our eyes. And the Monroe doctrine has been a
pillar of American foreign policy, as most of you know,
for centuries. And in one line, the Monroe doctrine says
that the Western Hemisphere is America's backyard. It is our
(17:46):
sphere of influence, and we will not allow any other
great power, whether it be a European great power or
China or whoever, to ever dominate or violate our sphere
of influence. What Trump is now doing, and he's calling
it the Donroe doctrine after Donald Trump, the Donroe doctrine
(18:11):
is the Western Hemisphere will not just be a sphere
of influence. It will be for America now a sphere
of dominance that we are going to have stable countries,
hopefully prosperous, democratic countries in which every other foreign power
(18:32):
is going to be eventually pushed out, and the United
States will be the pre eminent, decisive leader and power
in the entire Western hemisphere. He now says, in the
wake of what happened in Venezuela, Greenland must become part
(18:53):
of the United States. As he put it, Russian and
Chinese ships are all over Greenland. He's now given an
ultimatum to Denmark hand it over. We'll pay you cash,
a cash offer, but we want Greenland, and we want
it as soon as possible. He then threw down the
(19:13):
gauntlet regarding the socialist, really narco terrorist that's running Colombia.
He's a Marxist, an ally of Maduro, an ally of
communist Cuba. By the way, that's where most of the
cocaine is made. It's not in Venezuela. It's in Colombia
(19:34):
and they process it and then Venezuela is the one
that traffics it. But much of it is made in Colombia.
Listen now to President Trump. Asked by a reporter just
a few days before the US military operation that ousted Maduro,
Trump told the Colombian president to watch his rear end
(19:58):
I'm cleaning it up a little bit because he could
be next.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
Well.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
After Maduro was deposed, the media asked, are you doubling
down on that? Are you telling the Colombian leader that
he could be toppled as well? Listen to Trump's response
Roll cut eight Mike.
Speaker 8 (20:22):
Oh In response to the United States taking sanction oil
from Venezuela, Columbian President Gustavo Petro, he criticize the United
States by saying, well, the Southwest is stolen land and
that it should be returned to Latin America. I just
wanted to know what your response to that.
Speaker 7 (20:35):
Well, he has to watch because you know he's got
drug factors. They make cocaine in Colombian and he's no
friend of the United States. He's very bad, very bad guy.
And he's got to watch his ass because he makes
cocaine and they send it into the United States of
America from Colombia. We love the Colombian people. I love
(20:57):
the Colombian people. They're great people, energetic, smart, great But
their new leader is a trouble banker and he better
watch it. You better close up those cocaine factors. If
at least three major cocaine factors, we know where they are,
he better close them up fast.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
Yeah. So basically he's throwing down the gauntlet. You could
go the way of Maduro, and just like we topple
that regime, we may just topple the Colombian regime. Now
it went from Venezuela, Colombia. The lynchpin is Communist Cuba. Okay,
That's always been the lynchpin for Marxist revolution all across
(21:35):
Latin America. So the question then was, well, okay, if
Maduro falls and then the Colombian Marxist strong man falls, ultimately,
do you want to get rid of the regime in Cuba.
Listen now to President Trump saying if I were the
(21:56):
Communist leaders of Cuba, I would be very worried. Roll
cut fourteen, Mike, is a message for Cuba and deals
can own well.
Speaker 4 (22:08):
Cuba is an interesting case. Cuba is, you know, not
doing very well right now. That system has not been
a very good one for Cuba. The people there have
suffered for many, many years. And I think Cuba is
going to be something we'll end up talking about because
Cuba is a failing nation right now, very badly failing nation,
and we want to.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Help the people.
Speaker 4 (22:28):
It's very similar in the sense that we want to
help the people in Cuba, but we want to also
help the people that were forced out of Cuba and
living in this country.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
So, in other words, what they the model of Venezuela
could be applied to Columbia and now could be applied
to Cuba. Listen now to Marco Rubio, because he then
stepped up to the podium after Trump spoke. As you know,
Rubio is a Cuban American has been itching to get
rid of the Castro regime or the the the leftovers
(23:00):
of the Castro regime, the communist regime in Cuba, and
now he's throwing down the gauntlets saying, yeah, if I'm
in Havana, I would be very worried right now, roll
caught sixteen. Mike, I just.
Speaker 9 (23:18):
Gave you a statement a few minutes ago about you know,
when the present speaks, you should take them seriously. It'
suffice it to say, you know, Cuba is a disaster.
It's run by incompetent see now men and in some
cases not seen now, but incompetent. Nonetheless, they has no economy.
It's in total collapse. And by the way, you know
they were you know, all the guards that helped protect Maduro.
Speaker 8 (23:39):
This is well known.
Speaker 9 (23:40):
Their whole spy agency all that were full of Cubans.
I mean they basically, it's amazing this poor island took
over Venezuelan. In some casees one of the biggest problems
of Venezuelans have is they have to declare independence from Cuba.
They tried to basically colonize it from a security standpoint. So, yeah, look,
I lived in Havana and I was in the government'
be concerned.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
This could be the beginning of multiple regime changes. Now
we'll see obviously, you know, look, it's one thing to talk,
it's another thing to do. But clearly what you're seeing
now is a new foreign policy, the Trump corollary the
Donroe doctrine, the Trump corollary to the Monroe doctrine. And basically,
(24:20):
now he's got Cuba unnoticed, Columbia unnoticed, Greenland unnotice. Now,
to me, this is bush'sm You can call it whatever
you want, dress it up how you want. We're in
the regime change business or in the nation building business,
and we're in the war business. And to me, this
(24:41):
is a new form of American imperialism. Now it could
be good imperialism. Imperialism just by itself doesn't mean it's
bad sometimes other countries really do need a benevolent guidance
or a benevolent takeover so they can be properly run
for a while and then be allowed to eventually govern themselves.
(25:03):
But what I'm saying is we're now in the business
of meddling in the internal affairs of other countries. I
didn't vote for this. I'm gonna be honest with you,
I didn't vote for this. Now, if Denmark really wants
to sell Greenland, yeah, of course, adding Greenland and it's
rare earth minerals would be a huge strategic asset for
(25:26):
the United States. But now we're starting to come across
like we're bullying Greenland. We're bullying Denmark, almost giving them
an ultimatum that, h that's not my America. We're a
very big country. We have the most resources of any
(25:46):
other country in the world. Frankly, we don't need Venezuelas oil.
We don't need Columbia's coffee. Even Greenland's rare earth minerals,
it'd be great to have them, but we don't need them.
So to me, look at our cities. They're dying. Look
at the people who are dying from the fentonal epidemic,
(26:08):
which is coming from Mexico, not from Columbia or Venezuela.
We have all of these illegals that have been allowed
to come in. You look at our infrastructure forget you know,
rebuilding Venezuela's infrastructure. Look at our infrastructure, Look at our roads,
look at our airports, look at our bridges. So to me,
(26:31):
come home America. Focus on American problems for the American people,
and let's not keep gobbling up other countries or other
territories or toppling other regimes. Because that's what destroyed Bush's presidency,
and my fear is it may destroy Trump's. Just my opinion.
(26:53):
Six one seven two six six sixty eight sixty eight.
Brooks in Florida. Thanks for holding Brooks and welcome.
Speaker 5 (27:04):
Good morning. It's so great to have you back. You're
kind of our north star for starting our mornings, and
it's great to hear you.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
Thank you, Thank you Brooks. Although today the audience not
agreeing with the cooner Man, but that's okay, go ahead, Brooks,
go ahead, my friend.
Speaker 5 (27:22):
You know, Jeff, it's not that I think you're bringing
in some tremendously valid valid points. And because it's Cooner country.
We're all kind of coming to the dinner table and
listening to one another, and I'm in favor of it.
I wrote down some quick notes. I'll go through them fast.
(27:43):
One thing that I wish Trump would have talked about
a little bit more was the links to dominion through
the voting apparatus in connection to Venezuela. So it used
to be Smart Mattics. There's been a lot of lawsuits
about this. They're talking very you know, they're not discussing
(28:04):
it enough, but there's going to be a tie in
through George Soros, through Venezuela, through Smart Mattos and Dominion
Dominion sue the whole world. You know, all you have
to do is just mention their name. And I don't
even want to talk about it on your program too much.
But anyway, that aside, I think we've got some mining,
some digging to do about the twenty twenty election, how
(28:24):
it connected to dominion through Venezuela. My next point is
the drug trafficking connections, not just through Venezuela, but it's
also to the cartel, and how does that link to
our DC politicians. Trump is beyond frustrated that we're not
able to get any prosecutions. So this might lead into
(28:45):
Maduro looking for a softer lifetime sentence, in other words, Canaryism.
He's going to have to talk. This might potentially give
Trump some doors to knock on in regards to our
corrupt and dirty politicians in connection to money laundering, specific
to the Colombian cartel and the Venezuelans. The other point
(29:09):
is that it is a display of military might, and
that's something that we need to really pound at Zelenski's head. Elections, elections, elections,
something that Trump has really been the bridge to talking
to Zelenski about. Okay, so he's another corrupt player. So
absolutely we're flexing muscle here and it's good pr The
(29:32):
other thing too, is that I think it's really important
we have to get back to the simplicity of it's
the economy. Stupid Trump already has these deals in place
with the oil and gas companies. Okay, so let me
talk you off the cliff here a little bit. And
I love your points too, But when we get into
(29:56):
the midterms, we're down to three hundred days, right, so
they could get hole of this country and immediately start
impeaching Trump. We have to keep them away from impeachment.
We have to keep the Democrats away from getting the
control of the House. If Trump has connections with these
oil deals with these oil companies to start getting the
(30:17):
oil back on the market out of Venezuela that we built,
by the way, that was our infrastructure. That's going to
lessen fuel prices immediately. So I think we're going to
start to see some of that. It's the economy stupid
buffer and help us get through the midterms. Our friend
author Arthur from Arthur talked about it, which is the
(30:41):
American pride and the war on drugs, and I thought
he did a great little peace on that and anyway,
so those are my talking points I would love to
hear your your feedback on.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
First of all, honestly, I think you should be running
Trump's communications shop because I think the arguments that you're
making are good arguments. The one about dominion and how
they were running things from Venezuela and the twenty twenty election,
that is extremely important. That is extremely important. That to
(31:16):
me is something that if you could break that wide open,
then again I'd have to have second thoughts about my
opposition to this. Number one. Number two, I thought your
other points as well are very very good. They're excellent points.
Now look this, Look we'll see. How do I say this.
This could either go two ways. It's either going to
(31:38):
go very well, which obviously is what Trump is banking on.
And if it's a relatively smooth transition, and we can
get our experts in and get the oil companies in
quick and modernized and you know, basically renovate and rebuild
their oil infrastructure and get the oil flowing out of
(31:59):
the ground, that will have an impact on global energy prices.
And Trump will say, you see, I told you so.
And I think Trump would then turn around and say, look,
we have the United States, which has some of the
biggest reserves of oil and natural gas. Now we also
have Venezuela essentially in our sphere of influence, you know,
(32:20):
under our influence control if you want, and they have
the largest reserves of oil in the entire world. It's
heavy oil. It's not light or refined oil like you
see in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East where you
just you know, I don't want to oversimplify it, but
it's almost like boom, pump it out of the ground.
It's almost ready to go Venezuela has a lot of oil.
(32:42):
More even in Saudi Arabia it's heavier oil. You got
to refine it more so it's a little more expensive
to extract and refine. But the fact is they have
the largest deposit of oil reserves in the world. In
the world, by the way, how the hell can you
have a poor country with that much oil? Like to
(33:03):
show you how incompetent and destructive communists are. It's liquid
gold man, you know, Like, look, I'm not a fan
of the Saudis or Katar, or the uae or Kuwait.
I think these are primitive medieval civilizations. But even those
(33:23):
primitives are not so primitive as these communists. Say what
you want. People in Saudi Arabia are rich. In Qatar,
they're rich. In Kuwait, they're rich because even they're like, hmm,
take the oil out of the ground. Sure, we keep
a lot for ourselves for the sheikhs, but you give
(33:46):
nice checks to everybody else who lives in the country.
And this way, who's going to overthrow us because we're
making them so filthy rich. So even they know how
to redistribute the oil wealth to their own people, not
these communes. It reminds me very much of Ukraine under Stalin.
For a thousand years, Ukraine was the bread basket of Europe.
(34:09):
It's wheat and grain, and they fed the whole world.
By the time the Communists are done in three years,
there's famine in Ukraine, famine, food shortages, grain shortages. They're
importing wheat and grain. So it's you know, whatever communists touch,
they destroy, Okay, but let that go. The point is
(34:34):
we can say to the world we control most of
the world's oil reserves. We've got a great alliance now
with Saudi Arabia thanks to Trump. We've got a great
alliance with Katar. Thanks to Trump. We've got Venezuela's oil
reserves that our oil companies are now directly drilling out
of the ground. And we've got all the oil here
(34:55):
in the United States. So that will give us tremendous
in fluence on the world stage. There's no question you
add in Greenland for rare earth minerals. And I think
Trump looks at himself as sort of like a twenty
first century version of Theodore Roosevelt. I acquired territories for
(35:15):
us that made the United States bigger, stronger, more dominant
in the world. So if it goes smooth, there's a
big upside. There's no question I could see the appeal.
But if things go south, and I don't just mean
(35:36):
if there's a civil war or violence breaks out, but
if the oil infrastructure is not being developed or modernized
the way we like, and then you have remnants of
the Maduro regime who start attacking the oil infrastructure. So
now we got to put in more troops, and then
our troops start to get picked off, and then Venezuela
(35:59):
begins to to send slowly into instability and chaos and disorder,
and then the people begin to turn on us, because
remember there's a lot of hostility and suspicion of the
gringo what they call Yankee imperialism. It's deeply ingrained in
Latin America. So if the people begin to perceive us
(36:22):
not as liberators but as imperial masters who are mismanaging them,
then we could have a real internal rebellion and revolt
on our hands. Then it's going to consume Trump's presidency,
you see. So look, that's why I'm generally skeptical, cautious
(36:44):
by nature. I'm truly quote conservative in every sense, of
the word. I don't like regime change. I don't like
nation building. I think it's very high risk. But look,
only time will tell, Brooks. This is one of those issues.
(37:04):
We'll know in about six months, six eight months, will
really know is it going well or is it going bad. Now,
if it goes well, then I think Trump will go
down in history as Donald the Great. But if it
goes bad, he may go down as Bush two point zero.
(37:26):
And that's what scares me because I remember the first
years of Bush. It all seemed to be going so well,
and then the wheels just came off. So and look,
the other thing is this, Brooks. I know Mark or Rubio.
Rubio is a neo conservative. I know some of the
people that are whispering now in Trump's ears. These are
(37:50):
Bush loyalists or people who are close to the neo cons.
You know, when I look at who's supporting this, John
Bolton supports this. The Wall Street Journal editorial page, which
hates Trump, supports this. The Carl Roves, the Fox News,
(38:10):
the globalist warmongers, they love this. So I'm looking at
that Republican old guard and I'm saying, why do they
like this so much? And I think they're hoping that
they've captured the president. I hope they're wrong, but we
(38:31):
shall see. But to me, I don't want to see
this become Bush two point zero. And if things go
bad in Venezuela, this could be Bush two point oh
all over again, and that, to me, would break my heart.
He ran against Jeb Bush initially in twenty sixteen, he
(38:52):
took control from the Bush Cheney wing of the Republican Party.
And now we're getting policies that remind me of a
lot of the Bush Cheney wing.
