Speaker 1 (00:16):
Well, welcome in everybody. This is Gott Whitley and this
is Wicked Bites Radio on this beautiful Sunday morning here,
and we're here for the next well a couple of hours.
We're gonna take your phone calls. We're gonna open up
the phone lines in just a second on today's program,
and we're really looking for some help on the show today.
I want to know the very last restaurant that you

(00:36):
went out to die. That is our topic on the
Restaurant program. And again we're gonna open up the phone
lines in just a few seconds. I know we're in
the holiday season. I mean we're smack dab just a
few days away, right from getting all the shop and done.
If you haven't done so already, I have finally finished.
I don't know about my wife. I doubt she's finished
with all the grandkids and all. I'm sure she's taking

(00:57):
a little more time than I am. You know, we're
here on the Restaurant program today on this Sunday, and
again we're going to open up the phone lines and
we're looking for your help on today's program as well.
Here is the number to call eight eight four three
four sixty four sixty four now. Yesterday on Wicked Bites

(01:18):
at Night, I talked a lot about and with a
lot of restaurant tours about some of the gift card
promotions they have going on. And if you're a restaurant
and you got some gift card promotions that are going on,
I want to know about that as well on the
program today, and we'll allow you to call in and
tell us some of your gift card promotions that you

(01:39):
have as well. All right, So I would really appreciate
you dining in letting us know because there's some great
deals out there for folks to partake. And you know what,
a gift card, especially to a local restaurant, makes a
great holiday gift. You know, that's one thing for sure.
It makes a phenomenal holiday gift. And you know gifts
like that when you go out and you take that

(02:01):
the extra time they show them that you went out
to a you know, at a local restaurant and picked
up one for them is much better than getting it
at one of those gift cards that one hundred of
them fit all, you know what I mean, it's just
not as personable as I would like to see. So
today's program is all about giving some praise, some plugs
out there. It's just some of your favorite restaurants.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
We are.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Like I said, let's say today's the fifteenth, ten days
till Christmas, right, nine more shopping days. That's it. So
my wife Carol just came down. Have you finished your up?
Have you finished your shopping yet?

Speaker 2 (02:37):
No?

Speaker 1 (02:38):
I told you she probably has not. I have I
got it down early this year for me, right, Eight
eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four is
the number. That's eight eight eight four three four sixty
four sixty four. That's right.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
It.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
She reminds me, I buy for one person. She has
to buy for the kids and the grandkids and all
that and the parents. You know, my job is so
much easier. Yeah, but you know she doesn't want me
to get involved because that'll buy the wrong things. Right. No, No,
she's shaking her head right now now, she's overwhelmed. All right.
Eight eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four

(03:14):
is our number here on the restaurant program. Come on, folks,
let me know where was there last dress that you
want out to eat? Or if you got a restaurant
that deserves some praise this holiday season, or for the
great work they have done all year long. This is
your opportunity to do it. On today's program, Carol's going
to take your name and address off air, because that's
how we give away some of our dinner gift cards.

(03:36):
At the end of the hour, I give away some
gift cards and it could be to you, and I
try to find a restaurant in your area. So first
time callers, I encourage you. I welcome you to call
in because it you know you, you could really help
us find some great places out there for folks too
as well. Eight eight eight four three four sixty four

(04:01):
is our number. Right, Let's see Warren Mills Rare Coins
in a Hampshire. I know he wants me to wish
you all very happy holidays and merry Christmas. Warren Mills
and his staff over at Rare Coins of New Hampshire.
You know, Warren travels the country looking for rare coins
and he pays some of the highest prices as well.
And folks have been investing lately in a gold and

(04:22):
silver and he just wants me to remind you that
you've got to be a little bit careful over the
last couple of years counterfeiting has gotten to such a
degree that even an expert with forty years of experience
like Warren Mills has I can't tell by looking or
even holding a gold coin or a bar, or a
silver coin or bar if for all that matters. That's
why he went to NASA, the Space Agency, to make

(04:43):
sure it's pure throughout. He bought one piece of equipment
that looked into the coins in the bars, and now
he has three of them. Hits so much a demand,
and he does find coins out there. He does a
lot of appraisal for banks, and he'll tell me he
finds fake gold coins and they set you back if
you bought maybe gold or silver over the last couple
of years and you want to rest easy, well, Warren

(05:05):
Mills will take a look at that for you, free
of charge. Eight hundred two two five seven two sixty four.
That's eight hundred two two five seven two six four.
That's Warren Mills rare coins in New Hampshire. Eight hundred
two two five seven two sixty four. And I would
take advantage of that. You know that that he's offering
that service free of charge. Uh. And again I buy silver.

(05:27):
I don't really buy gold because it's been so expensive.
But I buy silver and you could buy it, you know, uh,
twenty five bucks thirty well actually just one I was buying.
It was like eighteen dollars a coin at one time,
and now it's it's in the thirties. Uh, And I
started buying it about three four years ago, that's how
much silver's gone up. But it's easy to get involved

(05:48):
and buy and put some money aside that way, and
they're beautiful at the same time, and it make great
holiday gifts by the way, right now it a silver
coin for somebody, right yeah, it gets them into thinking
about especially for their kids, you know, the value of
coins like that, and the beauty of them as well.
Warren Mills wear coins in a Hampshire eight eight four

(06:11):
three four sixty four sixty four is our number here
to Wicked Bites Radio. I got open lines right now,
and I know know today's probably gonna be a little
bit slower of a show than normal because everybody's running around.
But I appreciate if you're driving around, we'll get you
on right away to give us a call, and who knows,
maybe you'll be dining on us for calling. In simple,
very simple topic, where was the last restaurant that you

(06:34):
went out to eat. I think that's pretty simple, right.
It could be a large restaurant, it could be a
small little hole in the wall. It could be a
five star gourmet restaurant. It could be a dive bar
for all that matter. Or maybe went out to holiday party,
Like we went out to Flipo's in the North End
of Boston. That was our Wicked Byte holiday party. We

(06:56):
did that this week and we had a phenomenal time
at Felipos. We really did. We take that back room
at Felipo's and I always try to book it on
an off day at the garden so there's easy parking
in the area. And of course we went down there
with a bombed cyclone going on, but that's our Wicked
Bites crew. We all all made it out and just

(07:18):
spent the evening over at Felipo's in the North End
of Boston and enjoyed some great, great food there and
of course the company of Wicked Bites. You know, everybody
just loves getting together. We had a, like I said,
just a phenomenal time there. And the food well that
I gotta tell you it was something special. I go
to the Boston Garden and I talk about it all

(07:39):
the time. It's phil Parmesan with a thin layer eggplant
on top. I mean, I as you know, I've been
on this diet for about I'm going on my tenth week, right,
I'm down almost thirty pounds, and my appetite isn't what
it used to be. So I barely dented mine. I

(08:01):
just put a little tiny dent into it. But my
dad he finished all of it, and then he actually
went in for some canoles afterwards. The food was so
so good. Steve had some type of a steak and
I don't know what it was. There was a lot
of red peppers on top, and I saw some onion
sauted onions on top. He left that plate squeaky clean.

(08:24):
I mean squeaky clean. But it was just a great
evening just to sit back and relax, and especially at
Filipo's with the atmosphere is just so so cool, and
when you have that back room all to yourself, yeah,
you could just have so much fun, I mean, and
just relax. Right, And of course we started the evening

(08:44):
off with a couple of appetizers in the bar in
the lounge area, and I got a couple of the corosas,
which is that I called the adult Marzarella sticks for
the staff and they loved it, absolutely loved it. My
dad turned me on about that a couple of years ago.
So if you're thinking about, you know, getting together for
the holidays, there's still some time out there to do it.

(09:06):
You still got some time with the family. These reservations
may be a lot of places may be required at
this point, but you can still get together and have
a great time like we did. You know, we could
bite staff all right eight eight four three four sixty
four sixty four. Boston Salud and Prepared Foods, Adriana and
the crew over there. You know, I know they've been

(09:27):
busy this fall season because they they put together a
lot of those specialty side dishes at Boston Salad and
Prepared Foods. You find them at really up some of
the top delis throughout New England. You find them out
at Butcher's stores. You'll find them really all over the place.

(09:48):
Market Basket stocks a lot of their product. They have
come out with a new dessert. Last year they came
out with the individual portion of their apple crisp. Now
they have a blueberry crisp, but that is sin I
do mean that. But you can find side dishes like
the macaroni salad, or their tuna salad, or their redskin
potato salad, so many more. There's so many different options

(10:11):
that they have at the try that it's really not everybody,
not every marketplace could carry them all. I love their
Asian sesame noodle. That's one of my favorite side dishes.
Another great one is their bacon ranch pasta. Yeah, so
so good. Boston salad and prepared foods. You'll find them

(10:33):
really everywhere. Alpine Butcher and Lol carries and Big Y
has a lot of their products, like their Asian noodle
you'll find it there and their cranberry walnut chicken salad.
They can't go wrong there. Market Basket carries their Apple Chris,
their Asian noodle, and their cumber marinate along with their
Idaho potatoes. McKinnon's has a variety of the potato salads

(10:54):
and coal Slaws and Property Market well you know they
have the potato salad, cold pasta, and a lot of
their protein dishes and specialty salads you could find there.
Jay and be Butcher this couple of locations they carry
a lot of their coastline and pastas. There's just so
many places and so many great products, and to find
one near you, just go to their website Boston Salads

(11:17):
dot com Boston Salads dot com, and just you look
and find a great place near you. And I know
you can't go wrong. I mean, I for sure any
of their products are going to be hooked. I could
actually walk into a deli and I'll see products like
all displayed out and you can buy it by the
pound or whatever or quarter pound, whatever you want to buy.

(11:37):
And I could actually tell just by looking at it
whether it's Boston Salad and Prepared Foods product because they
make small batches. It's never mass produced and it's so
fresh and it's so good. Everybody knows about it. Boston
Salad and Prepared Foods Again, they bring you Wicked Bytes
Radio and Wicked Bytes TV. Now the television show where
you are are working on two I was in twenty

(12:00):
five right now, and we have a a couple of
things already filmed and we're scheduled to air that we'll
get to in the first part of the year. Included
Wicked Craft Now. Wicked Craft is located in the North
end of Boston, and it's not a large place. It's
right there. I think that's one of them. I can't

(12:21):
think of that the main it's one of the it's
not handover, it's the one who runs parallel to that.
And this is a very very popular place Boston, right
there in the city of Boston. Matter of fact, when
you walk out the front door, you could see the
downtown area just off to the right, and you know
they'll be over by the you know, Fanuel Hall area

(12:43):
and the financial district. That's what you see. But they're
in the North End and they are really something special. Again,
it's small and it fills up rather quickly, but when
when you see it and you experience it, it is like
no other place. The color is, the atmosphere is so unique.
Even the drinks they come out in like a fog storm.

(13:07):
You know a lot of them.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
Now.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
Somebody ordered up when I was there, ordered a bottle
of champagne and a bottle of champagne. The label was
glowing and everything. I mean, that's that's what they do there.
So you're going to see that coming up in twenty
twenty five first part of the year, along with Happy's
Cantina in Amesbury. My good buddy Sean Hopkins had an
opportunity to sit down with Bianca and show off his

(13:30):
restaurant and his passion for food. Because that's what Sean has,
just a ton of passion for everything that he does
at his restaurant. And yeah he's a little bit wild
and crazy, but he'll do things from tacos on. I mean,
it just flair, It just flavor upon flavor. That's what
Sean likes to do. And he'll tell you all about

(13:50):
it too. And then if you're lucky enough, you got
to be there when Shawn's behind the bar serving drinks
because you know, he always comes up with some great stories.
The crowds there as well. That's Hoppies Cantina. It's in
downtown Amesbury. You'll be seeing them a couple other shows
that we're working on. And I put a post up
on Wicked Bytes TV our Facebook page this week Wickabytes

(14:17):
TV on Facebook and I asked for sandwich shops because
I want to do a whole episode of nothing but sandwiches.
And if you've got a great place, a great sandwich shop,
by all means, recommend him on today's program. I want
to come up with four or five places to feature
on that episode of the TV show All Around New England,
and there was about almost two hundred folks responded to

(14:39):
that post. And I would love to know your favorite
sandwich shop, you know, and what makes what makes them
so special? If they got something unique, I want to
know about that as well. I like unique sandwich or
unique story behind them. Maybe they do one specialty product
that's just insanely crazy. That's what I would love to
hear about, and we'll feature them coming up, I would

(15:01):
say either the end of January the very first week
of February. That's when I have it scheduled for. In
addition to that, we're going to do another pizza show
where we feature, you know, places that do barbed pizza,
a Sicilian pizza, all different styles of pizza. I'm scheduled
to film in a place I have not been able
to film that because of the size of it, but

(15:22):
we're working on the details now. And that's Regina Pizza,
the original one a Thatcher Street in Boston. I've always
wanted to, you know, bring the camera crew in there
and show not only New England if you haven't been
to the North end to see and experience it. But
really the entire nation what makes them so special. It's
their consistency. That's the way they their age to dough

(15:44):
the cheese, it's the way they get the sauce. And
the tomatoes have grown in California, and I think the
tomato plants are only about a foot and a half high.
That's it. And I think the only produced the tomatoes
like once a year, and Reginas buys them like all
and they can them, you know, and that's why they're

(16:05):
so so consistent. But that oven, there's a former bakery
at one time, has turned out over one hundred years
a lot of great pizzas and a lot of great stories.
So they're gonna definitely definitely be featured on that program
as well. So I'm also looking for advice on places
that we should feature. You know.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
I love.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
The South Shore Bar pizza. I think that style's phenomenal.
I think that style should spread. Detroit Style pizza is
another big one that has hit this area over the
last couple of years, and I think that has a
lot of merit. It's not a deep dish if you
haven't had it, it's sort of in between it's They

(16:45):
do cook it in a pan like the South Shore
bar pizza, but it's South bar pizza, I would say,
is a little bit thinner with the sauce and all
the toppings go right to the edge, and they kind
of needle the dough to have a little potets underneath,
so all that flavor of sticks sits in the pocket.
The Detroit style pizza is that medium dish pizza and

(17:08):
they use a couple of type of Midwest cheeses on
top if you want to make it authentic. And what
I really like about it is they finish it off
with hot honey, Mike's hot honey, and I just think
the flavor from that is sensational. Only a few places
are doing it. I found like Pizza Hut I was
going to do that, or who knows was going to

(17:29):
do it. I'm not really sure they were talking about.
Maybe they have done it. I haven't tried it there,
but I have tried the Detroit style pizza and I
think it is really really good. But you have to
have my understanding special ovens to do it, so not everybody,
not every pizza shop can just say all right, we're
going to do this as a special Today they can't
do that, but I would love to hear about places
like that as well. Northeastern fans at Supply Company. Mike

(17:52):
Pain good buddy of mine. I'm sure he would wish
everybody out there. He was behind the microphone right now
a very happy holiday season. They're located and saw August
right there on Route one northbound in Saugust. And I
bet his big sign everybody sees his sign, Northeastern Fence
and Supply Company right in Saugust. I bet he has
holiday wishes right there for you to see. I have

(18:14):
used Northeastern fence for my pool area. I redid my pool.
Was it a year ago at this time, Carol, we
did our pool over. It was in the fall, you know,
two years ago. Well, he came in and his crew.
I took down my old fence and my fence was
falling apart in my hand. I would repair it every

(18:34):
single year. And I was actually handcutting the wood spindles
and replacing him. I did try to get him the
match as close as possible, and I just gave up. Yeah,
I just gave up. I mean it served its purpose
over like thirty years. And I said to Mike, I said,
you know what, I'm tired of going out there because
I start to maintain it really in the fall into

(18:56):
the beginning of the winner. You know, that's when I
really get out there and say, all right, this has
been driving me nuts. I want it to be great
for the spring when we're ready to go and open
it up. So I would be out there working on it,
my fingers would be freezing, and my drill bit where
we get stuck and not having a great time. So
I said, I want something maintenance free. And he came in,
took down the old one, got rid of it, and
put up this maintenance free fence in the same footprint

(19:18):
of the old fence. And I will tell you the
most amazing thing. It makes my pool area feel larger. Yeah,
and it is completely maintenance free, Carol said, has been
two years now. It looks like the day they put
it up. Yeah, And it's that special to us right now.
And it gives my my pool area that country club feel. Now.

(19:40):
They could do that for your yard or maybe for
your business if you need a fence, or maybe you
got a dog, because their tagline is they make fencing
for your kids, dogs and ugly neighbors. It's Northeastern Fence
and Supply Company. They're located on Root one northbound in
Saugust and of course Mike Pain there. They have one
d percent satisfaction guarantee. They've been doing it for almost

(20:02):
eighty years now. Yeah, and they make this program and
the television program possible. Northeastern Fence and Supply Companies. All right,
we're going to open up the phone lines coming up
in just a couple of moments. Here are the topics
that are on the board right now, and I hope
you can help me out. I want to know the
last wrestaurant that you went out to eat right or
or I'm looking for great sub shops and pizza places

(20:27):
on today's program. So kind of a you know, a
kind of multi topic program today. In addition to that,
if you got a restaurant that that you feel deserves praises,
I want to hear about that for the holiday season.
Maybe a wait staff member that deserves some holiday cheer
by all means calling on today's program. Eight eight eight

(20:48):
four three four sixty four sixty four. That's eight eight
eight four three four sixty four sixty four. Let's see
I see online. A couple folks have been dining out
and chiming in on our Wicked Bytes facebook feed. Michelle
says she just dined at Vita Marcello on North Conway.

(21:10):
Great homemade pasta. Yeah, I love restaurants that that that
that do their own homemade pasta. I think they're you know,
I think they're they're just an excellent, excellent you know,
and not everybody does it because it's not easy to
do it. It takes a lot of time to do it
and make your own pasta. But places like it sounds

(21:32):
like Vita Marcelo in North Conway, well that might be
a place to go and it really does make a
difference as far as I'm concerned, you know. So what,
thanks to Michelle for chiming in. All right, we got
the break for the bottom of the hour, nows We're
gonna do that. We'll come back with your phone calls again.
The topic is where'd you go out to eat last?
If you've got some holiday restaurants, I want to know
about that, maybe that you went out for a holiday

(21:54):
uh get together this season. I'm looking for subshops, pizza places.
You got places that are offering discounts right now? As
far as as holiday gift cards sales are, and you
know all of them. Call in and let me know
that as well. Another great place I want you to
go out to is a place that you I don't

(22:16):
want you to miss. It's called Vita Bella Restaurante. It's
an Essex, it's an Essex mass Chuse. It's a great
Italian restaurant there. And I know that they got holiday
gift cards. They sent me their thing, but it's in
such spine print. Now I don't really wear glasses. I
don't even know if this is going to help me
at all. This is Vita Bellar Restaurante in Ipswich, right
on one thirty three. They have a gift card promotion

(22:38):
right now that is running through the thirty first, So
all through this month, for every fifty dollars gift card
you purchased, you received a ten dollar bonus card. For
every one hundred dollars gift card you purchase, to get
a twenty dollars gift card. So make sure you get
your gifts this holiday season. Vita Bella Restaurante in Ipswich
is just an Essex, I should say, really close. Hipswich

(23:01):
is one of those places you should definitely go and
see an experience for yourself. I think the place is phenomenal.
It's so beautiful too. It's a great Italian restaurant, but
it is beautiful inside an old three hundred year old
barn farmhouse that you'll dine in and several of the
rooms have fireplaces. It's so unique, and it's two floors

(23:21):
of dining. Feeda bella and ipswich. All right, quick break here,
we're gonna come back Lorraine.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
I see you there.

Speaker 1 (23:26):
We're gonna get you in just a few moments. Again,
I could use your help today. Where was the last
place you went out to eat? Eight eight eight four
three four sixty four sixty four is our number. My
name is Scott Whitley, and this is Wicked Bites. Yeah,

(23:52):
welcome back. This is Wicked Bites Radio. My name is
Scott Whitley. On this Sunday morning, the fifteenth of December.
We're gonna get your phone calls. And just a fraction
of a second, I was just heard that news report
about all the drone sidings. I guess now they're here
in Massachusetts. And I could tell you one thing because
I've been studying a little bit to get my if

(24:12):
you're a business and you operate a drone for the
TV show and stuff like that, you need to have
a business license basically, or a license to the fly
your drone. And I've been studying it. I stopped because
they got a little bit too busy for the last
couple of months, because you almost got to know exactly.
I got to know runways on airports and traffic patterns
and all that type of stuff, things that operating a

(24:33):
drone you'll never need to know. But one thing I
did learn about drones is as soon as they lift off,
particularly the new ones, they're constantly sending their height and
information who you know, basically who owns the drone, who
it's registered to, it's registration and it sends it right
to the faa A, you know. So I don't know

(24:56):
why they can't seem to figure out what's going on there.
But the drones, especially if it's consumer level, you know
it's gonna go and we're gonna know who it is,
and you can actually look it up. There's apps on
your phone that will tell you the airplanes that are
in the air and the drones, and so you can
see what flights and where they're going to and everything
like that. So I'm sure that's what leads me to believe, Well,

(25:20):
it's either the some type of military, you know, especially
when they're in clusters like they were talking like fifty
or sixty at a time in New Jersey, that that
is something. The fact that we haven't been able to
figure it out too kind of worries me a little bit.
All right, let's get to the phone calls. Forget about
drones unless you're following a drone to a great restaurant.
Right now, Let's get to the phone calls. Let's go

(25:41):
to Lorraine in North Reading first. Lorraine, welcome the Wicked Bites.

Speaker 5 (25:45):
Hi, good morning, thank you.

Speaker 6 (25:47):
Can you hear me?

Speaker 1 (25:47):
Okay, kid, hear you? Thank you very much for calling
in this holiday season.

Speaker 7 (25:52):
You're welcome, thank you. And I just want to live
in North Threading and I call in sometime about old
Blue Cheese.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (26:01):
I have to think you've heard of this, yep, yep.

Speaker 5 (26:05):
And now it's McKinnon's. But again they have the biggest
subs and.

Speaker 6 (26:10):
They're only like seven ninety nine something like that.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
The just shoot, you know, I never thought about McKinnon's
for subs. You know, and I've been into the one
in north Redick. I was there one time and that's
really a nice specialty mark. And I've been to the mckinnons,
the one in I think Sale in New Hampshire. That
McKinnon's is enormous, but I had no idea. Oh, I

(26:36):
was kind of overwhelmed by everything that they have that
I didn't get a chance to see if they did
the subs and stuff.

Speaker 7 (26:43):
Oh you know, I'm glad you said that because I'll
try that next time for a different spot because it's
so big, like you said. But yeah, well did they
they do South subs where you went and Sale?

Speaker 1 (26:55):
I don't really know if they did them or not,
because I was I went in there. The last time
I was in there, I wanted to do Uh. I
was doing a smoker basically, I was smoking something out
on the on the grill and I was looking for
brisket and I not everybody carries briskets, but of course
McKinnon's does. Uh. And I gotta tell you, I smoked

(27:17):
that brisket for eighteen hours. It was absolutely phenomenal. The
first second I cut it, but about two seconds later
it all dried out and it was an expensive piece
of meat though, But you know that was that was
me not knowing how to how to do it correctly.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
Oh okay, yeah, no, oh, I'm glad you mentioned sale
and then I will try that next con you're.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
Saying, McKinnon's, uh, is that is that Wilmington? Is that
North Redding?

Speaker 5 (27:43):
No, it's Wilmington Level Street.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
Okay, got it? All right, yep. I've been in there
and you say they turn out great subs.

Speaker 5 (27:52):
Oh gosh, yeah, they're big and they're like I said,
they're the most expensive ones Alidge, what eight ninety nine?

Speaker 1 (27:59):
I think, Wow, Yeah, that's not that's not bad at all.
Right McKinnon. All right, Lauren, thank you very much for
your phone called great recommendation. I never never thought about
them for subs. Let's go to Kevin and debt him next. Hey, Kevin,
welcome to Wicked Bites. Hi Jod, How you doing excellent?

Speaker 4 (28:18):
Kevin, thanks for taking my phone call. I just want
to give a shout out to Olympic Pizza in Hyde Park.
I've been buying pizza and subs there for years. A
wonderful Greek family that owns the place and runs it.
I've been a friend with the owner for the years.
His name, I call him the Captain, he calls me captain.
But his daughter and his son and the whole family

(28:41):
works there, and the food is just miles. The pizza
is to die.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
For, all right. They've been there for a long time, right.

Speaker 4 (28:49):
Oh yeah, yeah. I've been in debt him for twenty
eight years and I've been buying pizza and subs from
him and for my family for twenty eight years now.
But it's just you can't get a pizza like they
make down there at the Olympics.

Speaker 6 (29:00):
Just wonderful.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Yeah, yeah, I mean I love finding these places and
like like this, and they're hard to read. They're hard
to replace, if you know what I mean. You're always
trying to find something that is as good as that,
and that you can't find them all that time? No, no, yeah,
And what type of pizza do they make there?

Speaker 4 (29:23):
Everything? Anything you want?

Speaker 1 (29:25):
Is it more Greek style?

Speaker 6 (29:28):
No? No, it's you know, the standard standard, fair, but
just very good.

Speaker 4 (29:32):
You know, they just do a good job. Something about
the sauce and the pizza, I really like, you know,
it's just good. It's slightly sweet, you know, but it's
really delicious.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
Yeah, that's the way I like it, you know, a
little bit on the sweet side, but not overly sweet
for my Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 4 (29:47):
They just just seem to have got it right for
some reason.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
You know. And again the name of the place is.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
Olympic Pizza in Hyde Park, Massachusetts. And the guy that
owns the place, I call him the Captain. Go in
there and ask the ca for one of his special
peaches and he'll take good care of you.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
All right, I'm gonna have to check them out, because
you can't go wrong with a pizza. I don't care
what day of the year it is, right, all right, Kevin,
thank you for your phone call. Olympic Pizza in Hyde Park.
Let's go to Benny in Burlington right now. Hey, Benny,
welcome the Wicked Bites.

Speaker 8 (30:22):
Hey, thanks Scott, good morning, Good morning, Benny. Thanks for
taking my call.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
Yep, thanks for calling in. Happy holiday, Scot you too. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (30:30):
So the coincidentally, the last place I went out to
eat it was actually also a great place for subs.
So it was the market's kitchen inside the market basket.
I went to the one in bill RICCA. Seven hundred
Boston Roads on three A had steak bomb sub and

(30:54):
it was. It was really good, really good value six
nine a huge portion. Yeah, there made like two meals
out of it, and the quality of the ingredients was
also really good.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
Yeah. I don't know how they do it, but they
do a really great job. Whenever we talk about subs
and stuff along that line, even pizza, uh, market Basket
gets a lot of calls. And they really love any
type of their their steaks that they make, whether it's
a misteak and cheese or steak bomb. People rave about that.

(31:29):
And of course you can't beat the price. Yeah, And
I have a feeling a lot of the market baskets
have their own bakery and it's probably their own bread
that they make fresh that day for it as well.
It could be yeah, all right, I I you know,
I haven't tried it yet, but I've had so many
calls about it. I got to check it out and

(31:51):
you know, and maybe even feature them on their television show,
you know, for when we're looking for subs because they
do such great jobs. And there's so many any market
baskets throughout New England too. Everybody could really enjoy a
market basket.

Speaker 8 (32:05):
So yeah, I don't think every market basket has one, but.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
But a lot of them do. Yeah, you're right right,
but it seems like it seems like it's in North
Andover in the Lawrence line. We have a market Basket
that is moving over to where Cole's was, and they're
really expanding, and I don't know when they're going to
be in that location and they'll close down the other one.

(32:30):
I guess Cole's is supposedly taking the market Basket location.
But that's going to be interesting to see that. You know,
they'll do everything at that market Basket right there in
the North and Or I think it's a North Andover
shopping malls what they call it. But it's in Lawrence.
It's right there right off for four ninety five and
I was there in that parking lot about three weeks ago,

(32:52):
and it's amazing how much of the parking lot they
have taken down just to do the construction to get
market Basket in there quick. So I look forward to it.
BENNI thank you very much for your phone call. Happy holidays,
all right, all right, yeah, great recommendation Market Baskets. They
do get a lot of phone calls on the program.
You know, another great place that I could recommend I've

(33:13):
had their subs. I've had their steak tips sub there
as well, right in the marketplace. It's Dom Sausage Company
in Malden, and I'm telling you the Botta Chellie family
has perfected steak tips. You know that. I mean, they're
the official steak tip of the New England Patriot, right
But did you know they do subs and wraps right

(33:34):
there as well, And in the morning you could go
in there and you could get stuff right off their
grill and eat right there in the middle of their
specialty market. And one of the items that they feature,
of course is their steak tips. You could get it
in a sub, you could get it with your eggs
if it's nice and early in the morning as well,
and really enjoy it. So if you get an opportunity,

(33:55):
I go in this holiday season and say hi to
a Dom from Dom Sausage Company, own and operated by
the Botta Chelli family for about I don't know, at
least eighty years, maybe longer than that, all right, And
again they're located in Malden, Dom Sausage Company. It's got
to Nancy in Burlington next. Hey, Nancy, welcome the Wiga Bites.

Speaker 9 (34:15):
Good morning, I just want to give a shout out
to Dagostino's for one of the best subs around. They
have a shop in Winchester as well as Arlington.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
All Right, I'm familiar with the name, but I'm not
familiar with them. Tell me about what makes them so special.

Speaker 10 (34:32):
I don't you know.

Speaker 9 (34:33):
I've been going to them since I was in elementary
school and they just, I don't know if it's a
sub role. They put tons of meat, you can pick
whatever top things you want, and they're just they're delicious,
and the prices is reasonable. And not only do they
have subs, they also have a full deli there, so
you can, you know, get whatever you want on top

(34:54):
of the subsc.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
So it's another specialty market basically that it has great
subs and stuff like that.

Speaker 9 (35:02):
Yeah, can you pick up some wine with your sub?

Speaker 1 (35:06):
Yeah, well that's that's not bad, right, And that way
you could go home and you know, a bottle of
wine with you and a couple of great subs, and
and I know they have probably a ton of other
food in there, but I'm sure that it's a great
spot to go. And it's called it's called for everybody.
Tell everybody the name of it. It's called Da Casinos

(35:26):
and they're located in Arlington and in Winchester and it's
a specialty market. Would you would you say more on
the Italian side.

Speaker 9 (35:38):
Yeah, absolutely, If you're looking for a sub, I would
highly recommend the Italian sub all.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
Right, perfect, And they got a lot of Italian products
there as well. All right great. I thank you Nancy
for your phone call. That reminds me a lot of
Bobs in Malden where it's especially markets as well. Well.
You see a lot of you know, a lot of
specialty products when you go in there. So you could
bring home food that he could prepare, or he could
just sit there and get a sub at Bob's. And

(36:04):
of course they're subs. They have some that are like
three feet long. Yeah. Well, I guess that's great if
you got friends over for a game. I mean, you
could order one or two of their subs and just
just cut into them, right, just split them all up.
They do a phenomenal job over there. I love their subs.

(36:25):
If you could help me out, folks, I would love
to know your favorite spots for subs, whether it's a
sub shop or in a specialty market. If you hear
a place that was recommended and you think they deserve
a little bit of a shout. I would like to
know that as well, you know, just say yeah, I
go there, and this is why I love it so much,
especially these ones that have been around for a long time.

(36:46):
They've become part of your family. Right, if you like,
move to another part of the state and you came home,
you know, even it was ten years later, it would
be one of those places that you're going to go
back just to remind you of the early days, right
when everything was all right with the world. Right, I'm
looking for those places.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
Eight eight eight.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
Four three four sixty four sixty four. That's eight eight
eight four three four sixty four sixty four. And again,
Carol's gonna take your name and a dress off air,
because that's how we do award some dinner gifts to bigots.
And we've got some great dinner gift cards we'll be
given away on the show today, all right. Eight eight
eight four three four sixty four sixty four. In addition

(37:27):
to that, I'm looking for great pizza shops because I'm
really thinking about how I'm gonna get those two shows
and who we're going to feature on those two shows
on the television show which is Wickedbyites TV. It's Saturday
mornings at eight thirty and Sunday nights at ten pm
on Nessen. That's the New England Sports Network. I do
not miss it, okay, I set you TVR that way

(37:48):
you can see even it's on tonight, right, and tonight
I take you to Framingham and there's a train station
in framing Him that they still use, but not this
part of it anymore. It's now Brazilian steakhouse and they
do the Digio style steaks there where they come to

(38:10):
your table. So you've got two cards. You got a
red and a green card, right, and if you're green,
it's go, go go until you can't take it anymore,
and then you hit the red card and they have
all different types of cuts of steaks that are just
so so good. And of course the history of that
train station it's been around I don't know, probably since

(38:33):
the eighteen hundreds, is really neat to see. You'll see
it on the television show tonight, so make sure you
see it all right, ten pm tonight on Nesson. That's
the New England Sports Network. All right, let me take
a quick break here, We're gonna come back with more
phone calls. We're looking for great sub shops, pizza shops,
or maybe places you've gone out this holiday season and
you're with the family. Holiday restaurants love to know about it.
Eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four. This

(38:57):
is Wicked Bits Radio.

Speaker 11 (39:03):

I want you to introduce yourself to Dawn. She runs
a restaurant called TJ. Callahan's. It's okay to routhe thirty
in Twksbury and this is something special, folks. It's a
five star dive bar. That's how I describe it. Why well,
you can go in after work, you grab a beer,
that's fine, or you could go in there for casual
lunch or dinner. But what makes it the five star

(40:27):
winner in my mind is their food. They have a
scratch kitchen that turns out unbelievable food. Matter of fact,
they're a five time winner for best Entrade from Taste
of Twksbury. Whether you want to go in there for
their steak tips, a generous twelve ounce portion of their
marinated sirloin tips, or their Irish barbecue steak tips that's
my favorite. They're topped with sauteed onions and they're homemade

(40:50):
Irish whiskey, barbecue, sauce, and of course it's right on
top of mashed potatoes. It's TJ. Callahan's open for lunch
and dinner, Route thirty eight and Tooks. Sorry and please
introduce yourself to Dawn.

Speaker 1 (42:04):
Hi, I want to get right back to the phone
calls on today's program. Eight eight eight four three four
sixty four sixty four is our number. We're gonna head
down to Wooburn right now. I'm gonna talk with Jeff. Jeff,
Welcome the Wicked Bites, Hik Scott.

Speaker 6 (42:16):
How are you doing that?

Speaker 1 (42:17):
Excellent? Jeff?

Speaker 6 (42:19):
All right, Hey, I have a place. It's called Anthony's
Italian Specialties, Anthony's and Stoneham Center. They are located right
in the center itself, on the corner of Franklin Street
and Main Street, right across from the old Theatre. What

(42:40):
a place for sandwiches. And he took over from his
father and boy, I used to love Bob's. I still
do in metric, of course, everybody does. But this is
one notch even more. I never thought it would be true,
but it really is. The chicken palm. You'll never finish it.

(43:05):
You'll never finish it. It's two it's two days of
meals Italian colfat's so fresh, so much. Everything is made
to water too, so it's a little bit of a weight,
but you know it's done right. It is absolutely fabulous.

Speaker 1 (43:21):
Wow, I mean it sounds, it sounds wonderful.

Speaker 6 (43:26):
You know, you know what business so long.

Speaker 1 (43:28):
Yeah, I just think I think I think I put
on about a pound just listening to you talk about
Anthony's right now.

Speaker 6 (43:34):
It is elegant, and you know the chicken palm. It's
usually when you go to even the nicer places, they
are what they what I call sliced and formed. They're
not shopped and formed, but they slice them. And it's
funny they all seem to have the same shape. Yeah,
that's that's because it's just done that way in food service. However,

(43:57):
this is the real deal. He takes the actual chicken
sileet itself and just breads it and cooks it right
then and there for you. It is unbelievable. You'll never finish.
Like I said, you'll never finish it. And the sauce.
I judge your place by the sauce too.

Speaker 1 (44:17):
Yeah, I'm sure they make it fresh.

Speaker 6 (44:19):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, sim is all day beautiful.

Speaker 1 (44:23):
I mean, that's that's what's so important. You got to
take the time. There is nothing like making your own sauce.
It's just yeah, cause you don't have to put all
those preservers in it, if you know what I mean.
I think it takes away a little bit of the taste.

Speaker 6 (44:37):
Oh absolutely, I agree, right, And you know he doesn't
put a ton of sugar in it like they often
do to take out the bitterness. Doesn't have to When
you start at six o'clock in the morning and you
cook it all day, very low heat, it's beautiful.

Speaker 1 (44:52):
Yeah, all right, specialty. Yeah, this just sounds like a
great little spot to go.

Speaker 6 (45:00):
The Italian cold cut. You won't even be able to
It's heavy and he's got way to it. It's got
the real deal mort deaf, you know.

Speaker 1 (45:09):
But for me, for me, Jeff, you know, I love
all the stuff that you're talking about, but for me
to put it to that next level, it got to
have great bread.

Speaker 6 (45:18):
Oh well, yeah, you do, of course, it's all this
that's the secret.

Speaker 1 (45:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (45:23):
I'm not sure if they use pianna dosi, but it's
it's as good if it's not pianna dose.

Speaker 15 (45:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (45:28):
I'll have to ask Joe Joe's I'm gonna see Joe
later this week and I'll ask Joe about Anthony's Italian
specialties in stone them and see if he supplies their breads.

Speaker 6 (45:36):
But oh and if he doesn't, he certainly should be
tough and they.

Speaker 1 (45:41):
Probably get it delivered like every day, you know fresh.
A lot of places, a lot of great sub shops
will do that that way, it doesn't sit around long
and and a lot of times you got to get
that right thickness, if you know what I mean, especially
if it's like a steak and cheese. When I went to, oh,
I can't think of that, all of a sudden, the
name escaped me. I went to that steak and cheese place,

(46:05):
and they got their own sub rolls designed for them
because they had to be the right they had. They
couldn't be too soggy and they couldn't be at the
same time too firm, because then that took away from
the taste. So it was that that perfect consistency to
hold everything together without being soggy and without being too stiff.

(46:25):
And they did a phenomenal job. And it sounds like Anthony's.
They they thought about that whole process too, and it's
all about the bread making making. Everything else get shown
off because of the bread.

Speaker 6 (46:36):
Absolutely. And you know the funny thing is, every time
I go there, it's a little bit better than the
last time. And I told them, I said, one of
these days, I'm going to call in on Wicked Bites
and tell them about you. Oh really, I said, yeah,
one of these days. And now I just I'm taking
a break, so I thought, you know what, I'm going

(46:56):
to give him a call.

Speaker 1 (46:58):
Yeah. Yeah, Well I'm glad you did, because you're telling
me about a great, great place now and I'm glad
to hear about it. And it's called the Anthony's Italian Specially.
It's located in Somerville. This sounds like a place in Stoneham,
I'm sorry, in Stoneham. It sounds like a place not
to miss.

Speaker 6 (47:18):
It's absolutely the best. It's on twenty eight that's Main
Street right in Stoneham Center, on the corner of Franklin Street. Okay,
I can't miss it. And boy, it's just a fabulous place.
Parking no problem, wonderful, highly recommended.

Speaker 1 (47:36):
All right, So noted, Jeff, thank you very very much
for your phone call. Happy holidays. Anthony's Italian Specialties. And
again that is located right there in Stoneham, you know,
Wakefield area. Definitely a place to go out and try.
It does sound phenomenal and maybe that's a place we'll
feature on the TV show. Another great place, and we
did feature them on the TV show This year is

(47:57):
called mcmorgan's Irish Pub and restaurant. They are located about
a mile from the stadium and even when you know
the team's on the road, doesn't really matter. I have
a feeling they're hopping because they're hopping all the time.
They're on Root One in Sharon. Mcmorgan's Irish Pub. The
atmosphere is just spectacular in there. There's so much Irish memorabilia,
authentic Irish memorabilia, and that the owner, Finn bar Griffin,

(48:19):
hand selected himself. And believe it or not, it was
really tough to get a lot of their items because
they wanted to know over in Ireland where it was
going to be, how it was going to be displayed.
Before they wouldn't sell their products to them. But the food,
all right, it's really Irish troop with that heavy influence
of American cuisine. Mcmorrgan's Irish Pub, Root One in Sharon.

(48:41):
Quick break, here for the news. We'll be back with
the second hour. You're listening to Wick of Bites. Well,
welcome back in everybody. This is Gott Whitley and we
are smack dab in the middle of the hig holiday season.
December fifteenth, and this is the restaurant program till twelve

(49:04):
noon today. We got open lines for you. You could
be the food crick if you'd like to do that.
I got a winner from the first hour, one hundred
dollars gift card. I'm going to tell you who want
and where to in just a second. We got several
topics sort of up on the board today and I
could use your help with On the program, I'm looking
for great sub shops. We talked a lot about that

(49:24):
in the first hour of a lot of our callers.
In addition to that, pizza places I'm looking for not
your average slice of pizza and what would be sensational
for people to try. Those are the places I'm looking for,
and that's really helpful. An upcoming TV show that we'll
be filming in the next couple of weeks for Wicked
Bites TV on nesson the New England Sports Network. And

(49:46):
in addition to that, we are opening the phone lines
and letting folks call in restaurants. You can call in
as well. If you've got holiday gift card promotions going
on right now, I'd like to know about that. If
you went out this holiday season to a restaurant, I'd
love to hear about that as well. So it's sort
of kind of like a free flowing open lines on
this really this holiday edition, I guess because it was

(50:09):
sort of in the holiday season of Wicked Bites Radio.

Speaker 2 (50:12):
Here is the.

Speaker 1 (50:13):
Number to call, and again, Carol's going to take your
name and address off air, and who knows, you could
win dinner on us, just like Nancy and Burlington did
from the first hour calling in, and we're going to
tell you about that in just a second, where she
won one hundred dollars gift card too. You got an
opportunity to win a gift card this hour. We pick

(50:33):
them at random, and I try to find a place
that's fairly close for you. But Nancy, I gotta tell
you're going to have to drive for about thirty minutes
for this place, but I think it's well worth it,
all right. But normally I try to find place that's
fairly close to you. When I'm out filming, I'm always
asking restaurants to send me give me some gift cards
to give away on the radio program, and then I

(50:53):
want to know about them. If you win them, good
or bad, I want to know about them, all right.
Here's the number to call, so if you could help
me out subs, pizzas, restaurants that you think deserve a
shout out this holiday season. Eight eight eight four three
four sixty four sixty four. That's eight eight eight four
three four sixty four sixty four. In addition to that,

(51:17):
I would really love to hear for some first time
callers as well out there. If you've never called, never
had the courage before to call in, well, I want
to talk to you because I'm sure you've got a
great sub shop or a pizza shop for us. It's
that easy. Or where was the last restaurant you went
out to eat? All right, it's that simple.

Speaker 2 (51:35):
Eight eight eight four three.

Speaker 1 (51:38):
Four sixty four sixty four is our number. Got that
eight eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four
now our winner to the one hundred dollars gift card
and Nancy of Burlington. I know you are going to
love this place. I had an opportunity to film there
in the beginning of the fall. I may have been

(51:59):
right for the summer officially ended, but it was in September,
if not the first week of October. To Plate d' jore,
now Plate da joure, is a restaurant inside the Wenham
Teahouse in Wenham, Massachusetts. So that's thirty minutes from downtown Boston.
Probably from Burlington you go down one twenty eight actually

(52:20):
maybe maybe about a twenty five minute ride. It's America's
oldest teahouse and it's so cool. I believe they got
a Sunday brunch that goes on right now. And they
have a patio on the side that when you when
you're dining inside, it's you know, these beautiful windows you
get to see out onto it and it's just like

(52:41):
historic New England. You got an old church in the
background and stuff like that. They were talking about putting
heaters and stuff out there and using it a lot
of the winter. I don't know if they've done that,
but it's America's oldest teahouse. The food is really incredible.
You're gonna love it, absolutely love it. They still do
high tea by the way. Yeah, well, so congratulations to

(53:04):
Nancy of Burlington. We're sending you to one hundred dollars
gift card to plate the Jore at the Winham tea
House in Wenham, Massachusetts, and I know you're gonna love it,
all right, got an open line right now. Eight eight
four three four sixty four sixty four is our number.
Good Night Johnny's and Burlington is a great spot for

(53:24):
you to go out this holiday season and enjoy some
great music and some great food. Their chef is really outstanding.
I don't I don't know where John you got all
his talent at this restaurant, but his chef is phenomenal.
So is his pastry chef. I mean, I can fall
in love with the pastry chef right. Just keep bringing
over those sweet treats all the time. Wow, they're so

(53:47):
so good. She came out with his chocolate lava cake.
Of course, it takes a little while to may, but wow,
I mean, I don't want to get up and move.
But the atmosphere of good Night Johnny's is just beautiful.
They got a jazz tree on Sundays for their jazz Brunch,
and a little later on they got some more music
coming in. You could expect a lot of music here,

(54:07):
but the way they design the restaurant, it has that
Boston feel to it. But they used acoustical paneling and
you don't even notice it. It's in the the walls
and the ceilings, it's like six inches thick, and it's
all designer acoustical panels and it absorbs the sound so
you can still have your conversation when you're dining and
enjoy the music and enjoy the great food and drinks.

(54:31):
It's called good Night Johnny's. It's located in Burlington. It's
great food, great service, great value, and of course live music.
And you gotta see it. You got to see it,
got to experience it. One dish I would love to
have right now. There's short ribs over mashed potatoes. Oh yeah,
I'm kind of like chilled to the bone today. You

(54:52):
know that will warm me up? Right. Good Night Johnny's
on Cambridge Street. Plenty of parking there too, and they
are located in Burlington. All right, Back to the phone calls,
we go eight eight eight four three four sixty four
sixty four and Roger your first this hour on wickedbyes Hey, Roger.

Speaker 15 (55:10):
Good morning Scott. It's not good good night joys, Good
morning Scott.

Speaker 1 (55:15):
Good yeah, I'll take that though. I'll take that.

Speaker 2 (55:18):
Roger.

Speaker 1 (55:18):
How you doing up there in Salem? Day it's probably
it's Sonny, but it's a little on the cool side.

Speaker 15 (55:22):
If you ask me, uh, well, boy, Jesus cool, well here, yeah.

Speaker 1 (55:28):
I bet your vegetable guard is not doing too well
right now.

Speaker 15 (55:32):
Oh man, that'sen shambles, I'll tell you. All right now,
I'm playing all my seedlings, got the the vegetables and
early match, and I'm looking forward to it.

Speaker 1 (55:44):
All right. Well, it's it's around the corner, as they say,
it's around the corner.

Speaker 15 (55:50):
By the way, it was great to see your dad
on your Facebook page with that the holiday Oh yeah,
time you had there.

Speaker 1 (55:58):
Yeah, he enjoyed himself at Felipo's in Boston, I'll tell you,
and he cleaned his plate. I have not seen him
eat so much in such a long time. It was
actually good to see he ate that whole Boston garden,
which is a Ville parmesan with eggplant. He ate the
pasta and then he finished it off with a Canoway.

Speaker 15 (56:16):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 1 (56:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 15 (56:18):
So, anyway, we have talked in the past about how
hot it was to find Rigatoni's. Yeah, Windham, Okay, this
place makes them look like a Neon sign.

Speaker 1 (56:32):
Okay.

Speaker 15 (56:34):
It's a place called Ricochet's Pizza. It's in Derry, New Hampshire,
in the Hanford Plaza, which is way up Oh my goodness,
it's up by Ocean State job lot past Walmart heading
into Londonderry, and as you pull into the plaza, you'll

(57:01):
see a sign that says Papa Ginos. Well, Papa Gino's
has been gone till late three years, so they don't
even have this signo there. You drive in and is
if you're familiar with the area, it's Hannaford Shopping Center.
And then there's a couple of like little black, little
strip malls that are in there. On the far far end,

(57:27):
on the end unit, there's a place that has a
big black R on it. That's the place.

Speaker 1 (57:36):
Yeah, you know, they came up on my radar about
two weeks ago, and I started doing a little bit
of investigation about them because I started to see some
and hear people talk about them. And that was the
one thing I noticed when I was looking at their
their map, you know, and you know how it shows
the property and like, all right, where is this place?

(57:57):
And I couldn't find it. I saw the R, but
that it's just one letter, that's it.

Speaker 15 (58:03):
I was there and I couldn't find it.

Speaker 1 (58:08):
Yeah, I all right, So I I've seen a little
bit of this place. So the atmosphere looks kind of
fun inside. And my understanding is they they play a
lot of Bob Ross on their television sets where he's painting,
and that's their big thing there. Yeah. Yeah, if you
asked me, that's like golf that will put you to sleep,

(58:29):
which I like watching on a Sunday, lazy Sunday afternoon.
But but Bob Ross, uh, I guess he was famous
back what in the eighties?

Speaker 15 (58:39):
Yeah, but what his first painting, by the way, but
Russ's first painting social one point one million dollars, I believe.

Speaker 1 (58:47):
Wow, Well that was out done by a banana that
was duct taped to a wall for like five million.

Speaker 4 (58:54):
Yeah, I don't understand.

Speaker 15 (58:56):
Anyway, back to Ricochet, my son told me about this
place because one of his friends, my son's a chef.
He says, you've got to go to this place. Guy,
it's it's unbelievable. That pizza is fabulous. So it was
a Thursday afternoon, probably about three thirty, so we figured, well,
we'll get some pizzas and bring them home and went

(59:18):
in there and there's nobody in there because it's a
Thursday afternoon. It's three thirty and I'm talking to the
lowly young lady who was taking the artists, and do
you have a takeout menu? Nope, you have to go online. Okay, fine.
The place is small. They have an area that has

(59:44):
it's reminiscent of the friend's couch for lack of a
better term. They have a guitarist there on weekends and
you sit there, you have your pizza. You can listen
to them. It's kind of small, but the pizza is
out of this world. Wow, it's crazy good.

Speaker 1 (01:00:07):
I know I'm gonna have to check them out because
it intrigued me with their sign. You know, if they're
using such a minimal minimalist approach to their sign, they
got to be good because no one could find them.
No one knows what it is.

Speaker 15 (01:00:21):
And I said to them, do you people don't want
to advertise them what he's doing? She goes, come here
on a Friday Saturday night. There's a two hour wait. Wow,
And I guess part of the thing is the dough
takes two days to complete. And if you had a

(01:00:43):
gun to the pizza chef's head, you couldn't make him
move any faster. He does what it does. And when
it comes out boom.

Speaker 16 (01:00:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
Later. Now I'm gonna I'm gonna have to go visit
this place if I could find it.

Speaker 15 (01:00:58):
Right it is, and I'm trying to engage this woman.
I you know, obviously I like to talk, and she
just told me, oh yeah, I did this come weekends
a two week to get in here.

Speaker 1 (01:01:12):
Wow.

Speaker 15 (01:01:14):
Wow, oh my god.

Speaker 4 (01:01:16):
Yeah yeah, check it out.

Speaker 1 (01:01:18):
Yeah, I'm definitely going to check it out. I know
that they grow a lot of their own produce there,
and I even I think during the winter they may
have greenhouses there. And I don't have to find out
more about it, but again, it's on my radar and
it may be a place that we're going to feature
because it's so so unique and from what I'm hearing
and what you're telling me, it's it's sensational.

Speaker 15 (01:01:40):
Again. It's uh and I'm about probably eighteen minutes twenty
minutes away from there. I will drive to get a
piece from bringing home.

Speaker 1 (01:01:50):
Yeah right, I'll have to. I'll have to check it out. Roger,
thank you very much. We funk call happy holidays.

Speaker 15 (01:01:56):
Yep, siving you Scott and you and cattell.

Speaker 1 (01:01:58):
I thank you, thank you again. It's called Ricochets. And
if you could find it, it's located thirty five Manchester Road,
Sweet Ten. You're probably gonna need that in Dairy, New Hampshire.
And you know they salute the Golden Girls there as well,
so they do a lot. So I'm going to check
them out. Let's go to Hamilton next and we're going
to talk with Bill. Bill, welcome the Wickabites.

Speaker 17 (01:02:19):
All right, thanks, Saw call out. Gloria Foods in Beverly, Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:02:24):
Gloria food.

Speaker 17 (01:02:26):
It's at the corner of Federal and Rantoul. It's great
for cold cuts. It's a little Italian Italian place from
the old Gloria chain from fifty years ago and it's
been in the same family for forty years now. And
you mentioned somebody you have previously mentioned about. You know

(01:02:48):
some of the great shops they get the bread fresh
every day, and Gloria Foods they get their bread fresh
every day. They don't selt their old bread.

Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
That is to me that is so important for great
sub And there are a lot of sub shops that
will say, yeah, we got enough bread, well, it could
last another day or so before we got to put
it in order. And there's a difference. There is a
total difference in the freshness. And it may be subtle,
but it's enough to make to knock you off from
being one of the top places if you ask me.

Speaker 17 (01:03:20):
Yeah, yeah, the orders it every day, the bread and
you know it's it's it's a variety of cold cuts
of different different manufacturers. It's just the different products, because
he goes to taste and quality.

Speaker 1 (01:03:36):
Right.

Speaker 17 (01:03:37):
It's a great place corner of Rent Bull and Federal.

Speaker 1 (01:03:40):
Yeah, and maybe that's why they've been around since well
but at least ninety years, I think, going on one
hundred years.

Speaker 17 (01:03:48):
Yeah, he's one of the he's one of the last
of the Glory of stores that used to be north
of Boston.

Speaker 1 (01:03:55):
I guess, uh, okay, all right, well I'll check that out.
It's not too far from me. And again I may
look at that and feature them on the television show
because I love places like that have the history built
in too, been around for such a long period of time,
especially since they had a lot of stores at one time,
a lot of locations. But it sounds, it sounds phenomenals

(01:04:17):
called Glories a glorious and it's located on in Beverly.
Got it built. Thank you very much for your phone call.
Let's jump over to Arlington next and we're going to
talk with Michelle. Hey, Michelle, welcome.

Speaker 18 (01:04:32):
Hey, good morning, Thank you for taking my call.

Speaker 1 (01:04:34):
Thanks for calling in this morning. Happy holidays, Michelle.

Speaker 5 (01:04:38):
Same to you.

Speaker 19 (01:04:39):
So I was calling to recommend a restaurant. It's called Kyos.
It's a Tako Rea. It's with the Qui l O.
It's in Arlington on Mass Aves and they have delicious tacos, fajitas,
burritos k citi Is and it's like it's bigger than
what you'd get at like some of the restaurants for

(01:05:01):
like a burrito, and it's healthy and it's homemade. It's
just a nice, small, family style restaurant. They have like
a few tables.

Speaker 18 (01:05:10):
It's not very big, maybe like five or six.

Speaker 8 (01:05:12):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:05:13):
I love those places though, but this thing this time
of year though, when the smaller places, when it's windy
out and those those doors open and it kind of
chills the place pretty quick. That's that's the only downfall
in the wintertime for me. But I love love these places.

Speaker 18 (01:05:29):
Yeah, definitely. I think they might do one of those
curtain things in the mud looking know what I'm saying.
So that that doesn't happen.

Speaker 1 (01:05:35):
Perfect perfect, that sounds. That sounds exactly what I would need,
especially now I lost all that weight. Everything's everything. I'm cold.
I've never been this cold in my life. I'm wearing
like jackets. I never wear wore jackets. It was always
somebody that didn't want to give in the winter. But
now since I lost thirty pounds, I've been wearing jackets
everywhere and gloves.

Speaker 18 (01:05:57):
Yeah yeah, well, welcome to the world women, I think.

Speaker 1 (01:06:01):
Yeah, yeah, tell me a couple of things on their
menu when you go in there. What do you get
when you're there.

Speaker 18 (01:06:08):
So you can, like, you know, build your own burrito.
That's usually what we get, and they're so big that, like,
you know, you can share them between two people, and
then it comes with the some chips and salta for free.

Speaker 15 (01:06:20):
I think.

Speaker 6 (01:06:20):
I think it just comes with a burrito.

Speaker 18 (01:06:22):
My son gets a casidea, like a loaded case idea.
I think they have a kid's menu too. I don't
have small to them, but I'm pretty sure there's a
kid's menu there. And it's just delicious and fresh and
they're friendly, and you know, it's like supporting small business.

Speaker 1 (01:06:37):
It does sound it sounds fantastic too. And I again,
I love the little small hole in the wall places
or the hard to find places that we just had
to call about Ricochet and Dairy, New Hampshire, and this
is one of those little small places that just sounds
like it turns out great food.

Speaker 18 (01:06:54):
Yes it is, and it's super clean, so it's nice.

Speaker 1 (01:06:56):
All right, Let's tell everybody the name and its location again.

Speaker 18 (01:07:00):
So it's Kios, but it's Quilos, Takorea. It's on Mount Avin, Arlington,
closer to the Cambridge side versus like Mexington or Bellmont.

Speaker 1 (01:07:11):
Got it, Michelle, thank you for your phone call. It
does sound like a great spot. And I could use
I could use a case of dea right now. I
love case ideas. We have a Mexican restaurant that does
some great vegetable case ideas that I love called Casablanca
in North andover that and I'm like, you know, I know,

(01:07:32):
I think a steak or chicken, even shrimp casedas, I
think those are awesome. I started getting there vegetable ones
and have fallen in love with it. It's maybe the
way they grill their vegetables. I just think it's sensational.
Primaturan Services. They are located in North Andover and they
are your one stop shop for all of your insurance needs.
They work with a number of leading insurance companies in

(01:07:54):
this state and nationally to get you the best plan
and prices to fit your needs. Along with home and
auto bundles, Prime also offers commercial and business including property liability,
auto and worker comp insurance. They have that as well.
And if you have toys you know what I mean,
like those motorcycles, boats and stuff like that, well, you

(01:08:16):
know what, they can ensure those as well. And again
they'll get you some great prices and they'll make sure
your insurance coverage fits your needs. And when there's a problem,
which you hate to have a problem, right, you know
who to call Private surance services they'll help you out. Otherwise,
you know, if you buy insurance online, you'll be trying
to submit claims. You may be under enjoyed because you're

(01:08:38):
doing it all by yourself. Privature and Services They're gonna
step you through all of your needs and make sure
you're properly covered too. And you know, check them out,
but call them before your current insurance policy lapses. That
way they could work on getting you the best price
privature and services in North andover. Why do all that
work online when they could do it for you and
probably save your money at the same time. Six eight

(01:09:01):
five ninety nine ninety nine. Back to the phone calls,
we go. We're gonna jump over to Lynn next and
we're gonna talk with Casey. Hey, Casey, walk on the wigabytes.

Speaker 20 (01:09:10):
Hey Scott, how you doing today?

Speaker 1 (01:09:12):
I'm doing excellent, awesome.

Speaker 20 (01:09:15):
I got a really good place for you. It's actually
it's it's not in Massachusetts, so it's in Connecticut, all right.
It's in North Stonington. It's called Bona Potito.

Speaker 6 (01:09:25):
Okay, it's it's a brick.

Speaker 20 (01:09:27):
Oven restaurant in pizzeria. It's unbelievable. I go there all
the time. When I go to Foxwood's maybe twice a year,
we always make a reservation there. It's uh, it's it's
a really nice, family owned Italian restaurant. But they're they
they're known for their pizza. They make their own dough,

(01:09:50):
and all their paninis they're stromboli, they're calzones are all
made with that dough. So it's just so good, if awesome.
I mean, I can't say enough about this place. It's
a little hidden gem. It's on the road. I don't
know the name of the road. It's in North Stonington though,

(01:10:11):
it's on the road going towards Foxwoods. So when it's
very reasonably priced, they have like, oh their appetizers, they
have a pei muscles. It's in like a Fa Diablo
sauce with hot cherry peppers and a red sauce. And

(01:10:34):
we always go to that and we always get the pizza.
The pizza's huge. Their prices are very very reasonable for
that area. Instead of eating out, it like one of
the casino restaurants. It is just so good. It's I
know it's far, but if you're ever in that area,

(01:10:55):
it's definitely worth checking out. And they also make their
own all of oil perfect, which is yeah, it's like
thirty dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:11:04):
They probably go to Italy. And you know, I've talked
to a couple of restaurant tours. I know Felipo's in
the North End of Boston. He just came back with
Literary Shire, a famous celebrity chef here in the Boston area. Yes,
they were pressing olive and bringing the olive oil back
to his restaurant. So it sounds like bone a Potito
restaurant in pizzeria in north Stonington, Connecticut does the same.

Speaker 20 (01:11:27):
Yeah. They Well there's a lot of farm land out there,
they do. It's a small little restaurant they have. They
have like a function area where they can do like
a large you know, like a large group. But everything
is made in house. They make their own pasta, I mean,
and their sandwiches, their lunch menu is you know, their
paninis are great, and it's it's like all your other

(01:11:49):
call is said, you know, everything stops with your bread
and they make their own and it's like the real
like the crust is chewy and thin. It's it's just awesome.
I can't say enough good about it. It's it's just
a great place to go to, you know, and beautiful place.

Speaker 1 (01:12:10):
All right, well it sounds it sounds fantastic. Let's tell
everybody the name of the restaurant again is blown Up
a Chito and that's in north Stonach, got it. Yes,
all right, thank you, thank you, Casey, Happy holidays, thank you.
All right, We're gonna take a break here in just

(01:12:30):
one second for the news. But let me just quickly
tell you before I do that Josie's Bakery in Wilmington.
Today is the last day to place you order for
pre Christmas pickups. They have ten inch chocolate cream pies,
ten inch cutsreged pies, eight inch egg nod cheese cake.
I'd like to try that, and they also have peppermint

(01:12:52):
cheesecake there as well. They have trays of Terra massoux.
They got a sort of cookies and pastries, canos, and
so much more, including holiday decorating kits. But today is
the last day. You heard me right, today to place
your orders to pick them up prior to Christmas. You
could pick them up on the twenty second through the
twenty fourth, but you gotta place your order. Do it now.

(01:13:16):
Josie's Bakery in Wilmington. I know you're gonna love it. It's
one of my favorite places too. I love, love, love
their cookies and their canoli's and of course their cakes
are outstanding. But if you want any of these holiday items,
like their eggnog or their peppermint chip cheesecake or a
half tray of Terra massooon you want it for the holidays,

(01:13:37):
you gotta place your order it today. Today is the
last day to do it. Josie's Bakery in Wilmingo. All right,
let me take a quick break here. We'll come back
with more phone calls open lines today if you can
help me with some great sub shops and some pizza places.
Love to hear about that.

Speaker 2 (01:13:51):
Eight eight eight.

Speaker 1 (01:13:52):
Four three four sixty four sixty four is a number.
That's eight eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four.
Scott Whitley end. This is Wicked Bytes. Yeah, this is

(01:14:12):
Scott Whitley and this is Wicked Bytes Radio on the
talk station AM six' ad w RKO in the restaurant
program Sundays ten to twelve, and of course I'm back
on Saturday nights with Wicked Bytes at night from five
to six pm. Yesterday we talked with a lot of
restaurant tours on the program and some of the holiday
gift promotions that they have. I just received Vita Bella

(01:14:35):
restaurant in Essex, mass their gift promotion card that's going
on right now. So if you go in and you
get a fifty dollars gift card, they'll kick back a
ten dollars one To you get one hundred dollars gift card,
they'll kick a twenty dollars gift card to you at
Vita Bella restaurant day in Essex. It's a great Italian restaurant, Susan,

(01:14:56):
she'll probably greet you at the door. I know they
got a Sunday brunch that's going on. But I it's
one of the best Italian restaurants in the area period.
I know you'll love it too. Pinabello Restaurante and they
are located and they are located and they are located
in Essex on Route one thirty three right there on

(01:15:17):
clam Highway. All right. Restaurante Lucia is in Winchester. That's
where you're gonna find the Frida Rolli family. A great
restaurant for the holidays, of course, great Italian food there.
They have that corosa, which is a lightly breaded pan
fried mozzarella mm hmm, and they stuff it with purstudo

(01:15:38):
and it's so good. It's in dult mozzarella stick. I mean,
that's what it is. You just cut into the size
you want and that's a great appetizer. That's the way
to start your evening off. Right. Items I would probably
go with. They have a head turning of a dish.
It's the sixteen inch veal chop that's served on the bone.

(01:15:58):
It is something some thing special. I know that you're
going to love that as well, so make sure you
check them out, all right. It's called Lucia Restaurante. They're
located at five dash thirteen Mount Vernon Street in Winchester.
There's plenty parking around too, and again I think this
makes a great holiday gift to yourself. Just sit back
and relax enjoy some great food. There's parking right out front.

(01:16:21):
There's some street parking there and there's two municipal parking
lots just steps away. It's called lu Chia Restaurante and
it's located in Winchester, one of my favorite spots to go.
All right. We got some open lines for the first
time in a while right now, and the topic is, well,
I'm looking for some help for some upcoming television shows

(01:16:43):
that we're filming in the next week or so that
will air at the end of January and the beginning
of March. One's going to be on pizza, and we
got a whole episode on pizza and I love finding unique.
We're going to go really several places in New England
to show you different types and different styles of pizza,

(01:17:06):
with it all based around Regina's on Thatcher Street in
the North end of Boston, right. That's probably my favorite
place for pizza period, any of the Regina locations, whether
it's in the Bacari's and Saugus and Wooburn there or
in Foxwoods, very very consistent. They're pizza and I think
it's just sensational and I know you'll love it too,

(01:17:27):
and of course I can't wait to get in there.
It's just hard to film at the original location because
at one time one hundred years ago as a bakery and
they turned out and started making pizza and they've taken
off ever since. But we'll go down to the South show,
we'll find some bar pizza, and then we'll probably head
up to New Hampshire find some places out there. We'll
go out to Metro West and see what's cooking up

(01:17:48):
in Metro West. So if you got some places to
recommend for pizza, I want to hear about on today's program.
In addition to that, subs that's another show we're going
to be working on. Everybody Loves a Great Sandwich And
where do you go? And what makes these places so unique?
I'm looking for really unique places to feature on the
TV show. If you could help me out, and again,

(01:18:09):
if your first time caller, welcome, by all means call in.
Carol's gonna take your name and address off air because
at the top of the hour, we're going to award
a dinner gift card to one of our callers at random.
It could be you for calling in. All right, here's
the number to call. Got some open lines for the
first time in a while.

Speaker 2 (01:18:24):
Eight eight eight four three.

Speaker 1 (01:18:27):
Four sixty four sixty four. That's eight eight eight four
three four sixty four sixty four. Don't let the show
go by without telling me your favorite place, all right.
Eight eight eight four three four sixty four sixty four
is our number now. A great place for prime Rib,

(01:18:47):
of course, is the Phoenician Restaurant. Route one ten twelve
out for street in Havel right there on the Mathuin line,
just off for route four ninety five. That's where you
going to find but some Yeah, his father, Michael, you
may see him. He's all was kind of like busy
running back and forth in the kitchen his father. The
last time I saw his father in the kitchen, he
was busy preparing the baked Alaska, and I got to

(01:19:11):
watch him make it, you know, with the blowtorch and all.
And I happen to know they use Richardson's ice cream.
That's why it's so good. But their prime rib is
just next level. It's called the Phoenician Restaurant. It's been
around for twenty years now. I can't believe that because
this is the same await staff that worked at Bishops

(01:19:33):
and Lawrence. They opened up their own place after the
Bashers retired, called the Phoenician, and it's been twenty years.
It kind of just blows my mind how fast time flies.
But those same handcut French fries and that prime rib,
and they're bake stuff lobster with the Phoenicians famous walnut stuff.

(01:19:53):
And you'll find it there right the Phoenician Restaurant in Haveril, right,
eight eight fourth three four sixty four sixty four is
our number. And if you have a place for some
Christmas gifts, I would love to hear about that as well.
Next Saturday night on Wicked Bytes at night at five pm,
we're going to talk with some restaurant tours and some

(01:20:15):
folks tell us what they have planned for New Year's Eve.
That way you can make your plans, the last minute plans,
from comedy shows, the drag shows, a whole bunch going
on in the area. We'll try to keep you up
to date and find some places for you on the
Wicked Bytes show this Saturday night here on WRKO. All right,
let's get back to the phone calls eight eight eight

(01:20:37):
four three four sixty four sixty four is our number.
Let's go to Woolburn next and Mike, Mike, Welcome to
Wicked Bytes.

Speaker 4 (01:20:44):
Hi Scott, good morning, how are you.

Speaker 1 (01:20:45):
I'm doing excellent, Mike.

Speaker 21 (01:20:48):
Glad to hear that. I listen to the show off
and on a little bit today. I've been doing some errands,
but I heard Joel Peter and I just wanted to
recommend a little place in Medford Amichi's Pizza. Okay, it's
a subshop pizza job, but they have a great thin
crust Italian pizza, nice sauce, and little family owned places.

(01:21:09):
Definitely worth checking out.

Speaker 1 (01:21:10):
Yeah, you know, I like the thin crust pizzas because
I guess you could eat more, right, the dough doesn't
fill you up.

Speaker 21 (01:21:16):
Yeah, Unfortunately I can't eat as much pizza as I
used to.

Speaker 1 (01:21:20):
Yeah, I need a good eye, but I want to
when I go out and I get a slice, I
want to make sure I really enjoy it, exactly.

Speaker 21 (01:21:27):
But it's a great little Police Scott. It's in I
think it's West Medford on High Street. It's called a
Mechi's Pizza and it's worth checking out from the area.

Speaker 1 (01:21:37):
So hand tossed, thin you would say, thin crust pizza,
that's what they specialize in.

Speaker 21 (01:21:42):
And I have a iron style yep.

Speaker 1 (01:21:45):
I have a feeling they've been around for many years
and they do a lot with the community because those
those those are the type of pizza places that every
community needs exactly.

Speaker 21 (01:21:54):
I know. I love to support a place like that.

Speaker 1 (01:21:56):
All right, So a Mechi's at four fifty one High
Street in Medford, correct, got it? All right, sounds like
a great recommendation. Mike, thank you very much for calling in.

Speaker 21 (01:22:05):
Happy holidays, all right, happy holidays, and Mary Christmas Chuscott.

Speaker 1 (01:22:09):
All right, thank you very much again for calling in.
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:22:12):
Eight eight eight four three.

Speaker 1 (01:22:14):
Four sixty four sixty four is our number. Now let's
head up to York Beach next and we're going to
talk with Jim. Jim, Welcome the Wicked bites.

Speaker 16 (01:22:22):
Hi, Scott, how you doing excellent, Jim, Yeah, thanks for
taking my call. I'm calling to talk about the Riverview
Pizza House and Ipswich, mass Have you ever been there?

Speaker 1 (01:22:37):
No, I don't think so.

Speaker 16 (01:22:40):
Okay. It's a thin crust pizza, an Italian style pizza.
I've been going there since nineteen sixty five. The original
owners I believe, opened it up probably in the late fifties.
And the pizza is delicious. It's a thin crust. When
you bite it into it, you taste the dough, the sauce,

(01:23:03):
and all the toppings. I live up here in York,
Maine now, but we still drive down the Ipswich. It's
a nice town anyway, and to get a pizza there
there there it's a bar. It's a bar. They open
up at four o'clock in the afternoon. It's a family place.
It's not a dive or anything like that. But I

(01:23:29):
believe they're on the second owner, and of course they
they have kept the original pizza recipe from the original owners.
And if you talk to any locals up in that area,
they all know about it and they all go there
for pizza. I would highly recommend it.

Speaker 1 (01:23:46):
Yeah, I'm just looking them up up on the internet.
It looks to me like it's almost set. You said
it's like a bar. It looks almost like it's set
in the home. That's what the outside.

Speaker 16 (01:23:56):
It was a house. Yeah, the neighborhood and if Switched
that it's in at one time was Polish people and
Greek people. The original owners that came up with the
recipe were Polish. But yeah, the if Switch river is
right behind it. But yeah, it was originally a house

(01:24:18):
and they converted it. The place when you walk into it,
it's the same way it was in nineteen sixty five
when I first went there as a kid. But the
place is super clean. The furniture result in mint condition
and everything like that, and the pizza is very inexpensive.

(01:24:41):
But yeah, it's it's a hidden gem. So maybe I
shouldn't have called.

Speaker 1 (01:24:48):
Well again, I love these places that are kind of
unique things that they have been around forever.

Speaker 16 (01:24:56):
So yes, it has.

Speaker 1 (01:24:58):
It's called the house reviews Riverview Riverview.

Speaker 16 (01:25:03):
The Riverview is on SD's Street in Ipswich, which is
right off of the downtown area. Okay, very easy to find.

Speaker 1 (01:25:14):
That sounds like a great great stop to go out
and definitely check out for their pizzas, because it does
sounds like they've been doing something right for a long time.

Speaker 16 (01:25:26):
Yeah, they have. And I saw a program that talked
about all the bar pieces on the South Shore, so
this would be I think the best on the North Shore.

Speaker 1 (01:25:39):
All right, I'll definitely have to check them out. Jim,
thank you very much for your phone call, and we're
gonna go to Florida next. But let me just quickly
tell you before I do that about bedrooms. They are
located on Route one southbound and that is in Pabty
and bedrooms. They specialize in solid hardwood furniture for the bedroom,

(01:26:01):
whether it's the nursery, kids or even you know, the
adult room right where they have mattresses like eyeshirt, perfect comfort,
sleeper mattresses, adjustable bases and stuff like that. But they're
bunk beds. Now, if you have kids or grandkids and
still looking for that special gift, right, you know, the
type of gift that they're gonna love you forever. Check
out their bunk beds. Unbelievable some of them are. They

(01:26:27):
have slides going down from the top to the bottom,
and they have such ingenious spots to like even the
steps going up to the second bed. That's drawers so
you can put the clothing in there. The kids are
never gonna want to leave the room. I mean, it's
that special. It's called bedrooms. Go and say hi to
Gary for us. It's family owned, it's family operated. You
don't find a lot of these places anymore like that.

(01:26:49):
And since it's all solid hardwood furniture, you know it's
gonna last for years and years and years. They have
zero percent financing and most importantly, set up and delivery
is of So bring the entire family down to bedrooms.
Say how to Gary for us on Root one Southbound
and PVD. You'll love it. And when you see their bedrooms,

(01:27:10):
whether you want a mattress for yourself or a complete
bedroom set for yourself, or maybe something for the nursery,
they have it bedrooms Root one and that's the name
of it, bedrooms or Root one Southbound and PVD. All right,
as promised, we're gonna go to Titusville, Florida right now.
And Daniel, who's probably basking in the sun and gonna
rub it in on today's program, Hey, Daniel, welcome the

(01:27:31):
Wick of Bites. I'm doing excellent, Daniel, probably not as
well as you.

Speaker 5 (01:27:39):
Oh, it's beautiful down here. Yeah, that's okay. Yeah, so
I moved down here about four years ago because they
shut down Massachusetts due to Cobert and they come to
Florida was wide open.

Speaker 1 (01:27:49):
Yeah, and now is it wide open come winter time.
It's a spectacular time of year to be down there.
When the weather's in the sixties and mid seventies, it's
there's nothing.

Speaker 5 (01:28:00):
I hear people complain. I hear people complain that, no,
it's so hot and yeah, but that's about six weeks
out of the year where gets a little uncomfortable.

Speaker 1 (01:28:08):
Right, what do we do?

Speaker 5 (01:28:09):
We stay in their conditioning?

Speaker 1 (01:28:10):
Right, Well, you could run from your car, you know. Yeah,
you don't have to run, but you could walk from
your car into any store and it's perfectly air condition
You're gonna need a jacket in the restaurants. But in
the winter time it's a full out sprint here in
New England to get into the heat if you're going
out chopping.

Speaker 5 (01:28:28):
Yeah, oh yeah, But anyhow, I'm calling about him. I
will see a show every week, thank you. I very
rarely come. But uh and I miss I missed Chinese food.
I can't Florida just doesn't have it. But I'm calling
about pizza. There's a restaurant and there's a restaurant in Draked,
Mass called Tony and I's Pizza, and they used to

(01:28:52):
be Lowell on the boulevard. They shut They were open
up for like thirty years. They shut down for about
ten and this place is so good. Got like a
sweet sauce to that pizza, very minimum menu, peppers, onions,
you know, all of their very small menu. But they're
only opened three days a week. I think it's Friday, Thursdays,
Fridays and Saturdays. And the place is packed.

Speaker 18 (01:29:15):
When they open.

Speaker 5 (01:29:16):
They must be so good that they don't have to
open up all week.

Speaker 1 (01:29:21):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (01:29:22):
They closed down for like twenty years when they were
in Lowell, and then they moved to the small place
out and drink and set about four or five tables.
It's fainly for takeout, but I every time I go
up there, I take a pint of their their sauce
because it's it's a different type of sauce for their pizza.

(01:29:42):
And matter of fact, my son called me up, what
do you want for Christmas? You know, send me a
pint of Todys pizza sauce. So uh yeah, it's a
it's very fairly reasonable, you know, and uh I think
it's family owned. Still they have a special recipe they've
won't given. Yeah, that's my recommendation today.

Speaker 1 (01:30:04):
It's called Tony and Anne's Pizza. And let me see
if I get everybody the address. Of course, I'm not
finding it that easy, as you said there, they're not
open a lot and I get in there. Even their
website's a little hard to find it. But they're located
in Drake It that's I don't have the street address
that there.

Speaker 5 (01:30:21):
Are on Broadway on.

Speaker 1 (01:30:25):
Broadway, Okay, great, great Broadway, great recommendation. I hope it
rains for you then. How's that?

Speaker 5 (01:30:32):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, and you're.

Speaker 1 (01:30:35):
Gonna hope it snows up here for us all. I
thank thank you Daniel for your phone call. Enjoy the
beautiful Florida weather in titus Phille, because that is a
great place to be this time of year period right
or really any time year, even the summertime. It's fantastic.
And you know, I could rub it in a little bit.
You want some great Chinese food, well that's a China
blossom in North Endover. How about that Daniel. They have

(01:30:57):
that all you can eat Chinese buffet, and yeah, they
have plenty of Chinese delicacies that you could get there.
And of course they got a full menu. But on
their dinner Brofet they feature prime rib. Yeah, prime rib.
It's so so good. The chata blosso Root one twenty
five in North Andover and they got a comedy show
on Saturday nine ten. I happen to know their New
Year's Eve show. It's just about sold outs and one

(01:31:18):

This is Wicked Bikes from the Northeastern Fence and Supply
Company studios. We're the only thing we are building is

Speaker 1 (01:34:37):
Well, that's true. I got another holiday party to go
to Edwin yesterday. I'm gonna have another one today, so
and I'm trying to stay on my diet and behave
and be really good. And this time of year, I've
of course there's all that wonderful sweets that are out
there and people bringing cakes and canolas and stuff like that.
It's been difficult, but I mean doing okay. I really

(01:34:58):
have the folks over red Transition Weight loss. You probably
hear me talk about them all the time. They do
a really a phenomenal job. They're located in Salem, New Hampshire,
and I'm going there tomorrow for my way in, my
weekly way in. And you know they made this losing
weight even in the holiday period, because I lost a

(01:35:21):
couple of pounds even throwing Thanksgiving week last week. I
struggled a little bit. We'll see, because I've had the
Wicked Bites party at Felipo's on Wednesday and had a
holiday party yesterday. I got another one today, Let's see.
I'm a little worried, if you know what, I mean,
to step on a scale. But I've already reached my
initial goal, my weight goal. I already hit it. And

(01:35:45):
how many times do people say, you know, you've reached
a weight goal. But I'm going to increase it in
another five pounds, right because it was so easy. I've
done that. So I'm still on the diet. I'm going
to go probably a week or two more, I assume,
but it's the holidays season, so maybe three weeks, who knows.
But the folks over at Transition Medical Weight Loss in Salem, Hampshire,

(01:36:06):
they have made this whole process easy. We had a
caller earlier this hour. They talked about Rigatoni's and Darry
New Hampshire. Lisa supplies some of the food options there,
and sab Mar in Salem, New Hampshire supplies a lot
cleaning eats kitchen. They have pizzas and stuff. So I
get up in the morning. You know what I had
this morning? I had three pancakes. Yeah, And normally I

(01:36:30):
would have like a snack, which for me would be
like a candy bar, and then I would have lunch
and then another snack and the dinner. They have like
six hundred different meal options and they change them all
the time, and it's made it so easy for me
to keep on the diet. I'm actually kind of looking
forward to seeing if I'm how I did this week.
If not, now I'll take it off next week too.
But they could do the same for you. It's a

(01:36:52):
doctor regulated program, so they give you all your I
get be twelve every single week. I get a shot
to give you the energy that you need. I get
supplement packed, some vitamins. I see the doctor every once
in a while. They got behavioral behavioral therapists there, including
dietitians that you talk to. So it's the whole process
of not only taking off the weight, but understanding what

(01:37:12):
puts the weight on. And for me, it's just eating
at the wrong time and not even portion size. And
of course I like sweets, so cutting back some of
the sweets, but I would have like a small OpenAL
in the morning. Now it used to be my meal,
and I could probably go all the way to dinner.
All right, that's that's not what you want to do.
You got to think of it like throwing log on

(01:37:32):
a fly. If you throw a whole bunch of logs
on once you get put it out. But if you
continue to put logs on just a little out of time,
you start burning a lot more. Transition Medical Weight Loss
Sale in New Hampshire. That's what's done. Thirty pounds for
me in like nine weeks. It's really amazing. All right,
our winter this hour on Wicked Buys is Michelle of Arlington. Oh,
you're going to the Dream Diner. They are located in Tingsboro,

(01:37:54):
the Dream Diner, and they got those mimosa flights and
stuff that you can enjoy. It's a great diner, great
atmosphere is going to take you right back to the sixties,
that dream Diner in Tingsboro, So congratulations. Michelle from Marlanton
will send that on out to you. All Right, that's
gonna do it for me. Wickabites TV tonight at ten
pm on Nelson Norgan Sports Network. Back here next Sunday

(01:38:14):
