La diputada del Partido Acción Nacional en el Congreso de Ciudad de México, América Rangel Lorenzana, presentó una iniciativa de reforma que busca la implementación del trabajo obligatorio para los internos sentenciados en los centros penitenciarios. La iniciativa consiste en que los presos dejen de ser una carga para los contribuyentes, debido a que cada reo cuesta 17 mil pesos al mes a los mexicanos, recursos que, afirmó, es un desperdicio destinarlo a quien ha violado la ley.
