Lee (00:38):
wildly wealthy life.

Kat (00:48):
Hey, everyone.
My name is Kat

Lee (00:49):
and my name is Lee

Kat (00:50):
and welcome to the wildly wealthy life podcast.
And this is our baby

Lee (00:54):
smokey.

Kat (00:56):
Smoky is a, uh, rescue kitten.
She was found inside a car engine.
Looks like she needs to be

Lee (01:01):
rescued now.

Kat (01:02):
And, uh, she had her chest burnt because she was inside the car engine.
And, uh, when we found her,she was covered in soot.
We thought that she was a, um, And wewatched her and she is this beautiful,
gorgeous white flame point and Siamesekitten, red ears, red tail, blue eyes.

(01:25):
But anyway, that's beside the story.
If you're listening to this onyour podcast platform, you have
to watch it on YouTube becauseyou'll see how beautiful Smokey is.
So babe, uh, it is now 2024 andwe started this podcast in 2021.
What do you have to say about that?

Lee (01:43):
That is four years ago.

Kat (01:45):
That was four years ago.
We kind of fell off the radar whenit comes to our podcasting from four
years ago because of a lot of things.
We actually planned the podcastback in December of 2019.
And we already had a launch date inApril of 2020, not knowing that the
world was going to end in March.

Lee (02:06):
Yep.
Yep.
And then, uh, also in February, uh,my dad died, so that put the brakes
on a lot of things, took the wind outof my sails for a while, and, uh, we
still had done quite a few recordingsup to that point, uh, we had another
seven, eight guests after that, andthen we had to start pivoting, so.

(02:27):
Cat was in the stunt and dance worldand she had to pivot to teaching piano.
I had recently shifted jobs as well.
And then with the pandemic, justtaking on new responsibilities, being
at home, not be able to go into theoffice as much working with students.
I'm in higher education.

(02:47):
It was a lot of just changes for us.
And we had a lot of thingsgoing on at the same time.
So we had to make adecision on something to cut

Kat (02:54):
for the time

Lee (02:54):
being.

Kat (02:55):
And what I learned though, is that.
If we had help, we probably wouldhave been able to continue with it,
but we didn't have help at that time.
So we kind of just let the show go,although I've really felt that we got
up to 30 episodes and I really feltthat every single guest we had in, in
all of those episodes were amazing.
And our old episodes are still in YouTube.

(03:17):
So if you want to check thatout, it's still Spotify.
Uh, we had some amazing, uh,guests like Olympians, uh, stunt
women, uh, real estate investors,

Lee (03:29):
power lifters, TV and movie producers, a lot,

Kat (03:35):
a lot.
Yeah.

Lee (03:35):
Europeans.
Americans, Canadians,

Kat (03:40):
we also had Mexicans, Filipinos.
No, we didn't have a Filipino inour guest except for me in our show.
Indians.
Yeah, we did.
Aditi Shekhar was ourrepresentative from India.
That was really awesome.
So a very diverse group of peoplewith very diverse backgrounds when
it comes to work and their pathways.
To financial freedom.
We learned a lot.
It was amazing to talk to the guests.

(04:01):
And now we're back doing the show.
And I think the journey from 2020 allthe way to here, we have learned a ton.
Um, one of them again waslike not having help and, uh.
You know, not hiring help isreally difficult when you're in an
entrepreneurial, you know, side of things.
So I was doing everything myself.

(04:22):
And the reason why we're back doing theshow is because I finally have three
assistants that I'm so happy about.
So I know that, um, my audio, uh, my,my audio guy, my podcast manager, Brian,
he's going to be listening to this.
So again, shout out to Ryan Sheena andACE because I literally have, I'm not even
kidding, I have so much hope right nowwith what I'm doing in my business and

(04:45):
the trajectory of where I want to bringmy business because I finally have help
and not just any help, but amazing help.
So right now, one of the thingsI'm reading is this book called
Attraction by Gino Wickman.
And it's about your entrepreneurialoperating system and how it's not
really about having A players in yourteam, because it really doesn't matter
if you have A players if they'renot sitting at the right seats.

(05:08):
So he talks about how you have to havethe right people at the right seats.
That's it.
And I do feel like my team, every single one of them, are
pretty much in their right seats.
I am telling them one of the thingsI tell them is you are in your
seats because you are good at whatyou do at this particular things.
But I also want you to be a Swissarmy knife, meaning, you know, if
someone is out and we need to jumpin, you need to be able to shift roles

(05:32):
and switch gears if I need you to.
So I'm just really thankful for that.
Um, anything that you learned outof your journey of the podcast
into now in the last few years.

Lee (05:44):
For myself, I just really enjoy seeing the guests grow.
Every single one of the guests in someway, shape, or form has, uh, grown.
I think one of the biggestones I've watched is Erica.
Erica, what's up?

Kat (05:59):
Erica Kohlberg.

Lee (06:00):
Yep.
Uh, from lawyer toYouTube superstar and, uh,

Kat (06:06):
4 million followers.
Now, when we interviewed her, she was,

Lee (06:11):
I think 20, 000, 30, 000.

Kat (06:14):
She was at like a hundred thousand when we interviewed her.
I think,

Lee (06:16):
I don't know.
We go way back.
Other people make transitions also.
So we've seen some of our, uh, Uh,podcast guests, uh, who were on this,
um, independent wealth journey kindof shift and go after something more,
uh, meaningful for their own lives.
Uh, they added members to their families.

(06:37):
They've had, um, new homes, first homes, second homes, third homes, multiple.
Properties, Gino and the boys have,uh, blown up over on the East coast
with different properties thatthey've been managing and running

Kat (06:50):
with.
Yeah.
That's a great episode.
You guys, if you ever checkout our podcast, Gino Barbaro,
the he's a family man.
It's just amazing to kind of, he's gotlike what, five kids, I believe, right?
Yeah.
Uh, it's just, it's just amazing.
And he's a real estate investor.
Matt

Lee (07:04):
Faircloth.
We ended

Kat (07:05):
up partnering with him on a syndication deal on a 256 unit
apartment building in Kentucky.
So that was really cool to kindof have those relationships
form through the podcast.
So we're excited now to form newrelationships, meet new people, um,
with our new podcast that's coming up

Lee (07:22):
and continue with our friends and people that we know.

Kat (07:25):
And actually, I just realized, I said, you know, meet new people, but

Lee (07:29):
Oh, hold on.

Kat (07:29):
Yes.

Lee (07:30):
What have you learned

Kat (07:32):
in

Lee (07:32):
the last four years?

Kat (07:34):
What have I not learned in the last four years?
Let me tell you.
I feel like I'm learning so many things.
It's ridiculous.
So, 2020, happened.
I was already teaching piano before2020, but 2020 was really the full blown.
This is what I do now.
I have stopped doing the entertainmentthing, and I went full force

(07:55):
into teaching piano full time.
And in a year and a half, Iwas able to grow this my studio
from zero to 75 students.
So that was incredible.
And think about Where do

Lee (08:05):
you have students?

Kat (08:06):
From around the world, all over the world.
Europe, we have some European students.
Point out where

Lee (08:12):
your students are.

Kat (08:13):
Um, we have a map behind that.
She doesn't know

Lee (08:16):
geography at all.

Kat (08:18):
Shut up and be

Lee (08:19):
on the spot.
It's

Kat (08:21):
the best to watch.
It's in Switzerland.
It's

Lee (08:24):
somewhere here.
Where's Italy?

Kat (08:25):
Italy is there.
We went there.

Lee (08:28):
Yeah.

Kat (08:29):
Yeah.
And

Lee (08:29):
then what's above it early?

Kat (08:31):
Um, uh, Switzerland right there.
See, there's even like a thing there.
Cause I did go there.
I performed there in Switzerland, guys, long, long time ago.
Um, so yeah.
So anyway, I learned thatentrepreneurship is nonstop.
24 7.

(08:52):
It's your own thing.
It's like, yeah, I don'twant to work for a boss.
I want to be the boss of me.
And then guess what?
You're a slave to your own business.
Okay.
But however, um, it doesn'thave to be that way.
And I am now learning that itdoes not have to be that way.
And I'm really excited aboutthe growth that's coming because
as I said, I now have help.

(09:12):
Um, I've shifted.
I'm actually in the middle ofshifting my business model from,
you know, just a piano teaching.
Model, which is really what I feelI've been teaching is not just piano.
It's really life skills to these kids.
I feel like they are getting coaching onwhat it means to be committed, how to be
consistent, their creativity, you know, that aspect of that, but realizing that

(09:35):
the thing that I enjoy the most teachingis life skills and just, I keep telling
Lee that I can't believe that as children,we were never taught How our minds work.
So understanding that we have aconscious mind, a subconscious
mind that are our brains can goin so many different directions.

(09:57):
If we don't control them, if we don'tcontrol our thoughts, it can control us.
And by the time you know kids turn67 teenagers and into teenage years,
they have so much comparison in them.
They doubt so much theythey lack confidence.
And so realizing that I really loveteaching that part, I'm actually shifting.

(10:18):
My whole programming into teachinglife skills like it's a life coaching
for kids, but through music educationstill, but really, really having
that exercises and talking points andstories that I can teach them that
can help them understand their mind.
So I'm excited about that.
I talked to me about lessons and how toteach kids how to say no to peer pressure.

(10:40):
Um, there's lessons, uh, teachingkids on what integrity is all about.
Um, what is.
Responsibility takingownership for your actions.
And the other lesson that I'm reallyexcited about teaching is this lesson
on power shifting, like shiftingwhen a situation comes your way.
And it's not somethingthat you really expected.

(11:01):
Like, it's an unexpected event, right?
You have the power to do.
shift it to, to switchyour mind frame about it.
And so I'm excited about that becauseI just feel like it's going to
change the lives of a lot of kids.
And, uh, what better way to teach thatthan through storytelling and music?
I think it's going to be incredible.

Lee (11:21):
I think some of the things that we're looking forward to in this next
season is just bringing in the creativityand leadership into this new season.
And we found guests that allcome from different backgrounds.
Different creative backgroundsare used creativity in the roles
that they're established in.
Currently, um, they have excellentleadership skills and capabilities

(11:41):
and are going to be coming to youguys to help showcase what it means
to be a awesome creative leader, butalso how to live your honest and true.
Wildly wealthy life, and we're reallyexcited for this upcoming season.

Kat (11:55):
Yeah, I think what I also realized, babe, is that how blessed are we that
right now we haven't even reached outto other people that we don't know.
All I did was go through my phone,go through my friends in Instagram,
and I was able to list out 80 people.
I'm not even kidding.
80 people.

(12:16):
That our potential guests, becausethese 80 people have been successful
in what they do, whether it is inthe arts, in real estate, in their
own businesses, in their lives asparents, uh, it's just incredible that
I have, we have 80 people that we'rereaching out to just from our network.
Just from my phone.
We haven't even tappedinto your phone yet.

Lee (12:38):
There's a large library of people that we're hoping to bring to you
guys so that you have just differentpoints of view and little nuggets
that you're going to be able to steal.
Cause we're all on a different journeyand every step, every glance that we take,
every breath that we make, it's, it'sleading to that next phase of our life.
And we're looking to reallyjust deepen and strengthen
that for you as best we can.

(12:59):
And.
Yeah.
We're just really excited about bringingthe best of the world to you guys.

Kat (13:04):
Yeah.
So the old angle of the show, uh,it's still wildly wealthy life.
The show is still widely wealthy life.
So the old angle of the show isreally exploring financial freedom
through intentional generosity.
So that's why a lot of the guests that wehad on the show are guests who are either
on their trajectory towards financialfreedom, or they're already there.
We have had guests who are literallylike, they're like, we don't

(13:27):
literally don't need to work and wedon't want to, but they are working
because They love what they do.
And what we loved about those guests iswhen we asked them, you know, what they're
doing for generosity, they, they'vegiven so much, I mean, I still remember
Michelle Bosch, she was one of our veryfirst guests, she is a land investor and
because of her financial freedom, sheput up a school in Central America and

(13:50):
really just gave back to her community.
So I just love that our guests have.
A heart for service and a heart forgenerosity and the shift this time, as
I said, it's still wildly wealthy life, but the shift this time is just really
actually focusing more on what does itmean to be able to equip our kids to live

(14:12):
their own version of wildly wealthy life.
So in our show this time around wewill be asking our guests questions
about leadership skills How didthey learn these leadership skills?
Did they learn these as kids?
Where did they have mentors thatreally helped them when they were kids?
What were the mindset shifts thatthey had to do when they were

(14:33):
children all the way to adulthood?
We talked about how How can we developbrilliant minds and kids and brave
hearts through creativity, throughthe arts, because I believe that
the arts really give us that voice.
It's a way to be able tospeak your own truth, I think.
And so it's really amazing tobe able to speak to our guests.

(14:54):
We've already recorded some episodesand we're so excited to share them with
you, because I realized, at least inmy work that I do, and I know, Babe,
you do a lot of work with students aswell, although yours is more higher
education, so they're a lot older,but I mean, it's still the same.
The, the, the students that youdeal with, even if they're at higher
education, they're older, theystill have self limiting beliefs.

(15:14):
They have confidence issues.
They have,

Lee (15:17):
yeah, I've with 20 years of education experience, just being in
higher education with bachelor degrees.
And now most recently workingin a business school for
master's programs, the level of.
Doubt, fear, frustration, just notknowing, you know, what that next
phase is in life, uh, can be prettycrippling for a lot of people.

(15:37):
And it's, um, having a coach, havingsomebody behind you, kind of edging you
along, moving you forward, but also youreally have to turn that switch on inside.
It's finding that internal switch that, that fire within finding a way to let that
burn bright so that you can overcome a lotof the obstacles and challenges that are
out there in life that you have to face.
Now, the other thing is, is that.

(15:57):
I think that creativity, pressinginto the arts, whether that's
painting, drawing, building models,um, dance, gymnastics, playing music,
piano, guitar, whatever, um, a lotof the different thought processes

(16:18):
and just different ways of looking atthe world through unique perspectives
really helps shape, uh, great leaders.
Um, in the business world or just inlife itself, uh, I've seen so many
times different challenging situationscome up for different companies.
And then you have somebodywhere there's just.
Different mindset, different, um,upbringing, different training that

(16:41):
is able to look at this particularproblem from a unique perspective.
And then all of a suddenfinds a solution for it.
And it's just incredible to see.
And we're really excited about thisset of guests that we have, because
we have guests from all Facets, uh,painters, dancers, drawers, animators,
voice actors, actors, producers, directors, finance people, just a

(17:03):
wealth of different backgrounds thatwe've just been associated with.
Some of them are like students that I knowthat have grown up, that are moved off
and gotten into different companies likeGuess, Marvel, Disney, and um, bringing,
being able to connect with them againand, and give them a, a, a piece of Podium
to kind of like share their thoughtsand their hearts with you guys is, is

(17:24):
really exciting for this upcoming season.

Kat (17:26):
Yeah, so we really hope that you join us and check it out because
we're just so excited that we finallyare able to keep this show going, um,
because we have, um, so stay tuned.
Um, we're releasing fiveepisodes, uh, right off the bat.
So as soon as you're done withthis, you can go to the next and

(17:49):
the next and the next and the next.
And then after that, it willbe one episode per week.
And, uh, we're excited about that.
So.
Stay tuned and make sureyou check out the show.

Lee (17:59):
Yep, and we hope you guys have an amazing, wildly wealthy life.
