Have you ever gone to a businessconference thinking that one of
the activities they're going tomake you do is to bend a spoon?
This is a spoon that I bent today inone of the activities in a business
conference, business gathering.
You know, when you think about businessconferences, you're going to think
(01:10):
strategy, how to do marketing, how todo sales, how to grow your business.
But this business by design experienceis completely different because it's
teaching us that everything that has todo with growth in your business first
comes and foremost with everything thathas to do with your growth as a person.
(01:34):
And so today they told us, they, theyshowed us a clip of Neo and the Matrix,
the scene of that little boy, likebending the spoon and they're like, yep,
you're going to bend the spoon today.
So they handed the spoons and this islike completely Oh, I can't even, I
can't even do anything to that right now.
Cause it was a whole experience.
It was a whole exercise, but now Ihave the recording of the event and
(01:56):
I'm literally going to take myselfthrough the exercise over and over
and over again, until I've beenlike, I don't know, maybe 10 spoons.
It was an incredibly powerful experience.
Um, it is now Friday, December 6th at 11.
P.
m.
I just got back from the event.
(02:17):
I was there at 8 a.
m.
It was full day.
We had an hour and a half forlunch, 45 minutes for dinner.
And in between, it was all speaker afterspeaker application after application.
And this is one of the applicationexercises was to bend a spoon.
And before we went into the exercise.
You know, they really told us that wehave to be detached from the results, just
(02:38):
like in, in business and in life, right?
When we're so attached to the resultsor the outcome, a lot of the times
we, we forget about the journey andthe process and how to actually enjoy
that part, because we're, we just wantto get there so badly and so quickly.
And we had to say, if we don'tbend the spoon, it just means
(03:00):
we're learning how to hold energy.
And if we bend the spoon,it also means we're just.
learning how to hold energy.
So the result of whether youbend the spoon or not has
nothing to do with who you are.
It's we're just learninghow to hold energy.
And this seems like a reallyweird activity, right?
Like to some people may may think.
(03:20):
Okay, big deal.
You, you meant a spoon.
So what?
Or maybe to some, it's like,Ooh, that's really weird.
You're so weird cat.
Like, you know, like, whatare you talking about?
You know?
Um, but let me break itdown just a little bit.
What it really just means is that, youknow, when I talked about frequency
in the last episode, which was lastnight's debrief of the event yesterday,
(03:44):
I talked about how we hold it.
We have a frequency and ourfrequencies are energetic vibe.
And what that really just means is thatthe way we present ourselves to the world
and to everything around us is It's adirect reflection of who we actually think
we are internally and subconsciously.
So if we believe that we're not worthyand we're not enough, uh, and we're not
(04:09):
loved the way we present ourselves toothers, we'll always have that frequency,
like a layer of that energy underneath it.
So even if we're like, we'reoutgoing, we're awesome.
We look confident, but internally.
You're really struggling with selfworth, that frequency is still going
to come out no matter what, because nomatter what you look like externally,
(04:32):
what is actually internally going oninside of you is truly what matters.
And so, In the exercise is talkingabout your power and the energy that you
hold inside and be able to focus thatpower into something or into someone.
(04:52):
So we are all conduits of energy.
We hold energy in our bodies, right?
So we are conduits of energy, butthen we can also transfer that energy.
And that was something that.
And this is how do we hold theenergy that's inside of us and
then transfer it into somethingto really powerfully demonstrate
(05:13):
that we are powerful human beings.
We are powerful.
Our words have power.
Our thoughts have power.
Everything in our body holds power.
And How do we make sure that, you know, the energy that we carry has power
(05:33):
because of the internal belief systemsthat we have believed our entire lives.
And so they made this gothrough the series of exercise.
The room is dark andthere's music going on.
And, uh, the lady, JenniferFinley, she made us to go
through this exercise where we.
(05:54):
Hold the spoon.
And she said, um, think about the time inyour life where you felt the most joy and
whatever comes to your mind right away.
You trust that.
And you just go with that.
You don't you don't judge it.
You don't change it.
You just take that.
And then you try to grab a holdof that power because there's
(06:14):
there's power in that joy.
And you tried to find it.
Focus it into the space between yourfingers because you're holding the spoon
like this and just focusing that energythere and, and, and seeing if you can,
as you focus that energy there thatit would actually make the spoon bend.
So think about, uh, afaucet if there's no host.
When you open the faucet, you know, the, the, the water is going to come out,
(06:38):
but it's not going to be as powerful.
But if you have a hose, right, thewater that comes out of a faucet, all
of a sudden has this surge of energy.
It goes through the host.
And when it goes out ofthat spout in the host.
It has so much powerbecause it's focused energy.
And so it felt like a forever exercise.
I think it was like about 40minutes long, and it was just
(06:59):
a series of those scenarios.
When did you feel the most loved?
When did you feel the most courage?
All these different scenarios, and youjust had to take a hold of that, and then,
You know, focus that power and transferit that that energy and transfer it
into the spoon to try to bend the spoonand I'm sitting there closing my eyes.
I'm thinking, yep, definitelynot happening to me today.
(07:23):
I don't know what power they're talkingabout, but I'm trying to drop into these
experiences of joy and love and courage.
And this is just not happening.
And then she said, Okay, now think about ayear from now, because we're in a business
conference and the business conferenceis all about how to grow your business.
What do you do rightto grow your business?
(07:45):
And again, this is notjust about strategy.
It's about actually working internallyto be able to present yourself
in a more effective way, right?
That actually really translatesthat that converts because you are
presenting in your most authentic self.
And so she said, pictureyourself a year from now.
(08:06):
You've accomplished what you want toaccomplish in your year in this one
year of business because we're coming upinto, you know, the end of the year and
now we're talking about our goals forthe year for your business and you've
accomplished it and you see your futureself and step into that future self now.
(08:26):
But before you do that, think about.
What was the cause that finallymade that breakthrough happen?
What was the thing that finally allowedyou to crush your numbers, to meet
your goals, and to, to be exactlywhere you wanted to be a year from now?
(08:49):
And yesterday, my breakthrough yesterdaywas the realization that I still
have all these self worth issues.
And the only way for me to step out ofthat instantly is to drop into who I am.
in my identity in Christ, in my identityas a daughter of the Most High God, in my
(09:12):
identity in the daughter of the Father wholoves me unconditionally no matter what.
And the moment I dropped into that and Ihad this vision again of myself just like
running towards Papa, running towardsmy Father, and just holding my arms like
this and God picking me up and swingingme around and holding me, the moment I
(09:36):
had that vision, This surge of power.
I can't, it was crazy becauseafter the exercise, I was sobbing
uncontrollably and I could not even talk.
I wanted to share, because after thatthey were asking people to share.
I wanted to raise my handand share, but I couldn't.
I just sat and I was like,
(09:58):
like, I don't even know, but I wasliterally, and the lady next to
me, she's like, you need a hug.
And I'm like, and she just huggedme so tightly because it was.
It was incredible, the experience thatI had, and so I pictured that, and I
felt this power, and then I steppedinto my future self, and I saw myself
as someone who finally has successfullytaught hundreds of kids this life skill
(10:24):
of finding their self worth, this lifeskill of resilience, the life skill of
integrity, the life skill of standingup to peer pressure, the life skill of,
of, of Stepping into their own power, the life skill of, of believing in
themselves and, and having confidenceand they no longer have self worth
issues like these kids that are 6 to 14year olds and, and they're like young
(10:48):
kids, but they're stepping into theirpower and they're not having comparison
issues and, and all these things.
And, and I, I saw myself as that personwho successfully taught these kids.
And, and were able to mentor themand, and help them find a stronger
(11:09):
mindset and a stronger identity.
And as I was doing that, I justkept feeling this search of
power and I just held the spoon.
And I, I was doing this and I waslike, I think it's, Oh, that's odd.
I think it's moving.
I think it's moving and I lookand I open my eyes and I'm
(11:30):
like, oh my gosh, it's moving.
It's moving.
It's moving.
Freaking bent it.
And, and And the thing is, like, assoon as I opened my eyes, right, I,
because it was bending, I, I kind oflike, I think that the power was there,
but I was so surprised that I was like,Oh, I was, I was like, so excited.
(11:54):
I kind of like put even more force to it.
And, and so the beginning part was really, really, it, it really felt like surreal.
It felt like this weird sense of energythat it was just bending the spoon, like,
and, and I was not in control of it.
It was like the craziest experience.
And then, and then, I was, I openedmy eyes and I was so surprised
(12:15):
that I just was so excited.
I kept bending it right.
And then later on, after that, in theexercise, once we all like kind of settled
from that experience, Jennifer Finley, the lady said, you know, the more you
do this, uh, Literally the less energyit actually takes, because what happens
is the more you understand your powerand your energy and how you can actually
(12:38):
transfer it, um, into your personallife, into your business life, um, into
the way you parent and your friendshipsand like literally in everything, right?
Like if you have that crazy loveenergy, crazy, joyful energy, crazy,
uh, courage, energy, and that.
Power and you're able to transferthat into everything you do.
(13:02):
Gosh, that's powerful.
And so she said that you can actuallydo this exercise over and over again.
And over time, you're going tolearn that you won't need as much,
like you actually don't need a lot.
You just need a little, and you can workwith a little, and you're going to be
a lot more efficient with transferringthat energy because you, you're going
(13:24):
to The little that we have is alreadya lot, actually, like the little power
that we have is already a lot, and inthe beginning you feel like you have to
harness that so much and push it into, you know, learn how to transfer that
energy and that power, but, but aftera while you're just going to learn,
you know, that you can be a littlemore chill about it and you can, you
(13:48):
know, you, you, you just drop into it,you just, because it's a practice, and
so I'm just so excited, because now Ihave a new exercise that I want to do.
I'm not going to say every day because Idon't want to say something and then, you
know, actually not follow through with it.
But I'm definitely goingto be doing this again.
And maybe, maybe just been, youknow, at least maybe put a goal
(14:09):
like, okay, let's talk 10 spoons.
Let's bend 10 spoons.
Let's go through these, through this exercise 10 times.
And I'm going to bend 10 spoonsand learn how to always find
that power that was so powerful.
Oh, the moment I sawmyself as a little girl.
Who felt so loved, but not justloved, but loved by my father
(14:35):
in heaven unconditionally.
And then I saw myself as that's thereason why I was able to fully step
into the growth of my business, because I am so secure in who I am,
because I have nothing to prove.
And I've let go of any attachmentto what success looks like.
And I've let go of any attachmentto, you know, me having to
(14:58):
prove to the world that.
Oh, look at me.
Look at my empire.
Look at my look at my business.
Look at this.
Look at that.
And the moment I've let go of that, youknow, that that's actually what's gonna
make me successful is letting go of theneed to prove and the need to, you know,
attach myself worth into an achievement.
(15:19):
And so that was really interestingand powerful in all the ways and
What an incredible experience today, and I will be back tomorrow at BBD Live.
I'm gonna keep this forever.
My very, very first spoon, myvery, very first bent spoon.
(15:40):
I am now officially a part of the SpoonBenders Club, that's what they say.
I don't know, it's not reallya club, it's a made up thing,
but I just think it's cool, so.
That's my takeaway from today.
We have our power.
We need to understand our power.
We need to know our power.
We need to own our power, and we needto know how to be able to transfer it to
(16:03):
the things that we do in, in real life.
Very cool.
