Speaker 2 (02:02):
Good because it's the day for lovers.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
It's you know, one of those days where the women
wake up in the morning and they're like, you know,
you stretch real good, and you're.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Like, ah, are you yawn stretched? Because you know.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Them ladies at the job find to be jealous today.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
You know it. You know you'd be like, this is
my day.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Especially you know there are women with the husbands and
and you know the ones that got the man, they
don't mind spending the money he making it rain on
y'all today.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Mm hm.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
I saw I saw bad Johnson and her pyts bringing
her gifts today. I got me some gifts too, thank you.
Some flowers. As my auntie would say, it looks wonderful.
One of them is in a box and I gotta
wait till I get home to see what that one

(03:03):
looks like. But I'm sure it's going to be lovely.
But yeah, this is our day, lady, So shout out
to you. Mm hmm Valentine's Day.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
You know what.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
Somebody asked me yesterday A couple I got a couple
of questions, and one of them I didn't get at
all because because one of the callers called me and
they were like, I don't want to say you know this,
and I you know, so I'm gonna pose it as
a question because I don't know the rest of the story,
and maybe she'll come me back and give me more
or email me Stormy Tea at myw dia dot com.

(03:37):
But she said, she she she got a man, got
a man go ot, a good man, but he's cheap.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
He got money, he's a man of means, but.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
He is cheap. She said, he is cheap, cheap, cheap.
So what do you do, ladies, when you married to
a man that is cheap? Well, if he worked for
the City of Memphis, today's a good day to ask
him what you're gonna do for me today? Or what
have you done for me lately? And the reason I

(04:10):
say that is because several employees that work for the
City of Memphis, they say they got two pay checks today,
two count of two in their accounts on Friday and
late last night. The city acknowledged on yesterday that a

(04:32):
clerical era had made, you know, sending those direct deposits
to about.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Eight thousand plus employees. My lord, they say.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
The era has been corrected and everyone would be paid
on time. But May of Paul Young, City of Memphis,
I mean, I mean city council, which is are you
gonna get that money back? I mean, come on now, well,
I guess you could take it out of their next check,
but y'all need to be doing this. I used to
work for this place and every now she's gone on,

(05:13):
well she I think I heard she had gone on
to be with the Lord. But anyway, the lady used
to be in the office. She would she would give
us the extra check every now and then. And I
heard it wasn't just me, it was because it happened
to me. I was like, well, thank you, Lord, but
uh And I went to and I said hey, because
I didn't. I was when I got that check and

(05:34):
I saw those zeros, I was like.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
God, you are good. And what did I do to
deserve this?

Speaker 4 (05:44):
And I pondered, do I say something or do I
or do I go to the house cash it real fast?
Because that was back before direct depositive and when they
were handling us checks, and so I did.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
The right thing.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
I've stepped in that lady's office and I said, have
you seen my check? And she said, what are you
talking about? I said, look here, look at this.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
She looked at it. I said, is this right? She said, yes,
it's right.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
I said, well, okay, well, thank you. I had heard it.
I'd heard it happened to people that worked at that
same company. It had never happened to me, and I
don't think it happened anymore. But that has got that
extra pace. But I said something because I wanted to
be right. I didn't want the lord to say, you

(06:46):
just say nothing, And I just said something.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
But how are the city of magnificent employees going to
handle this? And how is the.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
City eight thousand plus y'all just giving away money like that?
But I know those employee they got those checks or
like whoo wait, thank you ah.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
But the city said they corrected their era. Mmmmmm. Has
that ever happened to you?

Speaker 4 (07:16):
And if it did happen to you, would you say something?
Would you go to the folks and say I got
two jicks? I got two chicks? But anyway, back to
the listener, that that that hit me up yesterday. She said,
I just I just want to know, you know, I
want to tell you my story. And like I said,

(07:36):
she didn't get to tell me everything, but I'm thinking
she was probably wanting to say, wanting to know what
you guys would think about or what what would you
do if you married a man of means and then
he you found out he was cheap. And I guess
she didn't know it before she married him, but she
found out he's cheap.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
He's just cheap.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
Hey, it happens, It happens. There are some people out
there being I think, being frugal and thrifty and all
those kinds of things and being cheap are two different things.
Because people that are cheap man, they don't want to

(08:12):
leave no tip, no, they don't want to do nothing
like that. But some people are just frugal, you know,
they are not wasteful in their spending.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
But I don't know what to tell her. I didn't
know what to tell her.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
And if I get the rest of the stories, she
called me back today and give me the rest of
the story, I'll pass it along to you. Then I
had another friend that I was talking to about Valentine's Day.
She said, you know, how do you tell a man
thank you that won't let you buy him anything? How

(08:50):
do you tell a man thank you? How do you fellas,
how you tell a woman thank you they won't let
you buy him anything?

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Doesn't usually happen with us. We all right with y'all
buying U stuff?

Speaker 4 (09:00):
How do you tell a person thank you that won't
buy you, that won't let you buy them anything?

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Y'all got some ideas? Hit me up and let me know. Okay?

Speaker 4 (09:10):
And last but not least, on this Valentine's Day, the
day for lovers, if you want to, like I said,
send me your pictures, your feel free stormy tea at
myw DIA dot com and I will post him on
our ten seventy w DIA Facebook page for the world
to see how beautiful you look. But did y'all see

(09:34):
this other story? A Memphis police sergeant is under fire?

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Oh immerse it? Why Lord? Why Memphis police sergeant.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
Is under fire over a comment that he posted on Facebook? Okay,
the comment prompted a citizen to file an ethics complaint
with MPD.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
So I saw this story. Maybe you guys saw it too.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
Where reparations have has become a topic again. I don't
know if you guys know about that, but yeah, reparations.
All want some reparations. They're talking about reparations again. And
the person who who I want to say her name
the right way, I a young it's not a it's

(10:29):
not a young law. But she's she's a politician in
the White House, I mean at the in the in
the Capitol. Her name is Ayana Presley, Representative Ayana Presley.
I'm hoping I'm saying her name correctly. Somebody will. You
can feel free to call me and correct me if

(10:50):
I'm saying it wrong. But she has taken up the
historic legacy of reparations. There's a bill that she's planning
to file. It's a which are forty is the name
of it. Y'all want reparations, which I know we've been
talking about a lot on this station.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
But she's taking it up.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
So at any rate, he may have seen that, Okay.
Fox thirteen, our sister station, they received a screenshot of
the comment allegedly made by Sergeant Brandon Lee, and the
comment said, hold yourself together. When I read it to you,

(11:27):
if you ain't seen it, hold yourself together. He says, Yeah,
I think if the government pays reparations, then I want
to refund for the slaves my ancestors lost.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Jesus like a ooh ooh on site, on site. You
can you be that dumb?

Speaker 4 (12:14):
I don't like calling people dumb. I really don't. But
you tell me what you think that is. This is
a sergeant.

Speaker 5 (12:21):
With the.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
You you shake it off, Shake it off, shake it off. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
I think if the government pays reparations, then I want
to refund from the slaves my ancestors lost.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Fox thirteen.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
They say they're not aware of what this. You know
was a comment too, but I'm thinking because of a
young representative, this is a new story. This story dropped
what yesterday, day before yesterday? Somebody probably posted it and
he posted that should he lose his job, what do

(13:18):
you think ought to happen. Records show that Lee has
been with the department since two thousand and was promoted
to sergeant in twenty nineteen. His Facebook profile said he's
a helicopter pilot who makes more than ninety thousand a
year now. Fox thirteen said they reached out to the
Memphis Police to find out if the department was investigating

(13:40):
this comment. In a statement. A spokesperson said, the Memphis
Police Department is aware of the allegation and it is
actively looking into the matter.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Well what you gonna do? What what.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
You You can't make this stuff up? How how you
can't make it up? I'm gonna tell you you. You
really have to be careful with social media and all
this other You know why, because you might be in
your own circle of friends, at least you think they're

(14:15):
your friends.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
Somebody screen screenshot.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
Somebody took a screenshot of that that maybe he thought
was a friend that really ain't. And you know what
people do, They screenshot stuff and then they send it
to people, and somebody sent it to the wrong person.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
And they filed an ethics complaint with the MPD. You
want some.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
Money back for slaves your ancestors lost you, all right?

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Calm down? Stormy nine on one five three five nine

when we see these young people doing amazing things, it
just brings a smile on your face. I'm smiling the
whole time, mister Robinson talking because he talking about his
grand baby, and I'm smiling too, like.

Speaker 2 (16:51):

Day to you?

Speaker 7 (17:20):
Yes, now you know where's.

Speaker 5 (17:23):
Now?

Speaker 9 (17:26):
I think the officer need I think you need to
be fired. You got the last job I worked at.
It was then that people got fired for what they
put on Facebook because they had some people that worked
at the job there was there was their job to
look at what people work. They were saying on Facebook.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
Wait a minute, you mean to tell me they hire
people to just see what you posting.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
On that on the frames and all things.

Speaker 9 (17:54):
They had people on there know what you seeing on Facebook?

Speaker 5 (17:57):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (17:58):
And and and we don't.

Speaker 9 (18:00):
Have people we had that was the lads that I work.
We had people walked out that they walked him out
the door. Wow, because you couldn't. You would not saiding
onhing about nobody worked there, uh, posting, posting only about
nobody's name, and you couldn't say nothing about nobody work
at the company, and you couldn't have no type of.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Anything negative comments and stuff like that comment like that.
Let me let me ask you. Are you just as.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
Shocked as I am that a police sergeant would post
something like that?

Speaker 7 (18:29):
Yeah? Yeah, yep.

Speaker 9 (18:32):
But see the thing was he he he must he
must have thought he was just posting it. Well on
him and his friends to see it. You know, he
probably wasn't thinking about you. About one in friend didn't
like that, and they and they, like you said, they
took a screenshot and sent it out there.

Speaker 7 (18:48):
See anybody don't.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Like you like you think they like right.

Speaker 9 (18:51):
Some people look for a reason to break to break
you down. They love us, see you lose your job.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
Yeah, and some people are jealous.

Speaker 9 (18:59):
Oh yeah, if you'd be surprised that just laughing your
thing and be jailing you behind your back. And that
woman that that woman that talk about how cheap a
man is tell you something strong, she all be thankful
to have a cheap man like that because one thing
bout it. He ain't gonna never he a't gonna never

(19:19):
be broke, and he gonna always be to do things
for her. But see, women with the can.

Speaker 10 (19:27):
Go both ways form.

Speaker 7 (19:29):
You can have a cheap woman.

Speaker 9 (19:31):
And a man that spends don't don't know how to
control his money. You can have a cheap man and
a woman just blow the money. Somebody got to be
cheap to make sure y'all be able to have something
in the future.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
You call it? Is it balanced? Is it kind of
a balance? You balance the relations?

Speaker 7 (19:49):
That's what it is.

Speaker 9 (19:49):
That's he know that she she she does a blow
money and like to probably show off front of her friends,
you know. And he was the type of person. He's probably conservative.
He ain't had to have all that things and self
so he he he, he watched it.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
He watched his money.

Speaker 9 (20:08):
And I'm blame when I'd be the same ways doing.
I don't believe I don't miss all no money doing.

Speaker 10 (20:12):
I know that's right, don't.

Speaker 9 (20:14):
Miss don't miss I just I just like I said,
I don't all be thankful man like that right there? Okay,
because one thing about it, the only they get they
ain't have to act no bad but not because he
always gonna have reserves in and that wow.

Speaker 7 (20:31):
Kills.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
All right, what I'm talking about?

Speaker 10 (20:33):
Right then?

Speaker 2 (20:34):
Clad be talking about it? Don't the mm hmm you
be talking about it.

Speaker 4 (20:38):
Let me go to another call and then I'm gonna
read some of your emails here uh w D I.

Speaker 5 (20:43):
A hello, Hello Storm, and Happy Valentine's Day to you.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
Wait, I'll copy Valentine's Day to you as well. Well.

Speaker 5 (20:52):
I want to say something to all the means out there,
so so you know it's about Time's Day. And you know,
we always buy our sweetie something.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 7 (21:06):
But I'm gonna tell you.

Speaker 5 (21:06):
A practice that I've had ever since I had daughters.
I buy every female in my family something for Valentine's
That is all my daughters, And now that I have
two granddaughters, they this is their first Valentine and I
felt so good just getting them that they don't know.
They haven't reached one yet, either one of them. But
the one thing that I've learned is that my daughters,

(21:29):
before they had boyfriends, I was their first male inspiration
and I always make sure that I get them something
so that no matter what another young man is or
is not doing for them. They gonna get something for
Valentine's Day, just practice I've always had, and I think
that that's something that gives them confidence that they don't

(21:50):
have to worry about what somebody did or didn't give them,
or somebody did or didn't do for them. And that's
one the next thing I want to speak about it,
and I'm gonna get off your phone because everybody's waiting.
The last caller, I think it was Jackson, and he.

Speaker 10 (22:06):
Was talking about Clyde Clyde.

Speaker 7 (22:08):
Thank you Clyde. So we were talking about the.

Speaker 10 (22:13):
Cheap man or what have you.

Speaker 5 (22:14):
Now I'm gonna tell you he is absolutely right and
the fact that somebody got to watch the money because
if one person is doing all to spend it just
thinking both, I'm doing all the spending, you're gonna be broke.
And I say that from experience. I have to say
that my wife of thirty plus years changed me from
being because I used to be that guy had to

(22:36):
have all the frills.

Speaker 7 (22:37):
And the things and the things.

Speaker 5 (22:39):
And I ain't never necessarily been broke, but I was
always just kind of, you know, with it. But I
learned to be closer to her way, and in our
older age or elder we're not older, but in our
elder age older what have you, we have more because
we spend less.

Speaker 7 (22:57):
Practice.

Speaker 4 (22:58):
That's that's kind of being frugal. Now do you tip
when you go to restaurants?

Speaker 5 (23:04):
Absolutely? I tip well, And the reason for that is
because me being an entrepreneur and a small business owner,
I know that every dollar counts and to be honest
with you, so so having the type of company that
I have in construction, I actually go to hardware stores,
which is something that less people do say they always

(23:25):
go to home deep on lows. I go to hardware
stores because they are usually franchised and.

Speaker 7 (23:30):
Things like that. But that's supporting small business.

Speaker 5 (23:33):
And then you know, if I can find them a
minority business, I'll do that as well. So, yes, I tip,
and then I am conscious to spend with small business entrepreneurs.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
Got it? Thank you, John, I appreciate that.

Speaker 7 (23:47):
Hey, happy voualent time's day, Stormy?

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Thank you? How the Valentine's dating you?

Speaker 5 (23:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (23:53):
You're talking about that Love and Laugh comedy show tomorrow, y'all?

Speaker 2 (23:57):
Uh huh, it's going down in West Memphis. I'll tell
you that.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
Got some more tickets to give away today, So listen
up for that. You know what, I'm gonna take a break, Marcus,
you first up when I come back. Okay, don't go anywhere.
I'm coming back to take your calls. And I know
one five three, five, nine three four two eight hundred
five zero three nine three four two eight three three
five three five nine three four two. Also if you

(24:20):

Speaker 2 (24:26):
Dot com listening.

Speaker 4 (24:30):

It is stormy conversations on ten seventy w D. I
a thank you for being here with me on this
be yout fu fry yay. You know, it really is
a beautiful Valentine's Day. I didn't expect the weather to
be this nice. Unfortunately, storms are rolling in. When meteorologist

(24:57):
Andrew Humphrey said stormy conditions, I just perke up. I
was like, what what I do? Yeah, I might have
some storms rolling in. I'm supposed to go to a
funeral tomorrow out of town, and I am praying that
the weather is okay enough for me to do that,
because you know, I well, y'all know y'all know, I

(25:20):
itea is when it's storming out there, you don't want
to get on the You might not want to get
on the road. And if it's bad, especially if it's
bad enough that I mean, you may not you know,
maybe you shouldn't be on the road. Well, let me
let me get to some.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
Of your conversations. Yeah, let me get back to it.

Speaker 4 (25:40):
Hey, Yeah, if y'all ever ever heard of a funeral kid.
My friend tickled me today talking about a funeral kid.
If you don't have any idea what that is, because
I didn't. I never heard of it. But I'm gonna
tell you what it is coming up. But let me
let me read a couple of emails here and then
I'm going to check in with you guys and see

(26:02):
what you got to say about thanks today.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
Okay, let's see here, PJ.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
Hey, there services in lieu of a gift, Hello, Stormy.
If a guy wants to thank me, he can come
by and rake my leaves, touch up the paint on
the outside of my house, fix an area of my
wood fence, repaved my driveway, or do anything around the

(26:30):
outside of my home. And I don't even have to
be home for him to do that will be thanks enough.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
I know that's right girl.

Speaker 4 (26:40):
The comment about owning slaves, the guy's ancestors should never
have owned a human being in the first place. I'm
don mom, so they can lose on that one. Love listening, PJ,
thank you. Let's see miss Cassandra. Happy v Day. Have
Valentine's date you, she says, good, Stormy. Some people need

(27:01):
to just keep their mouth shut a police officer. I

Speaker 2 (27:19):

Marcus myckus ear the kids said it. My I can't

(27:52):
even get the rest that he on the phone, y'all
that's him. I don't know what's going on. And you
know we were having some issues with the phones yesterday.
Oh my lord, I guess Marcus don't hear me. He
is very quiet, inn't me though? Mm listening to him
just so quiet, probably listening to me while he's not

(28:13):
listening to me on the phone.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
All right, comment back, Marcus, I tried, I tried. W
D I A Hello, Stormy girl.

Speaker 11 (28:23):
How are you today?

Speaker 2 (28:24):
Very dead? God, I'm good. How you doing? Fantastic?

Speaker 12 (28:28):

Speaker 2 (28:31):
Thank you. Listen that police.

Speaker 7 (28:34):
I love when you say I'm on site.

Speaker 12 (28:36):
I know that's what.

Speaker 7 (28:38):
They setting him on.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
Fight you. I once a time on site, So listen.
I wish you would have.

Speaker 12 (28:46):
Maybe before you want to. You can read that last
email you read yesterday before you ended.

Speaker 8 (28:51):
Because she's so weply.

Speaker 12 (28:52):
It dawned on me when you was reading that that
I feel sorry and this is this.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
Is a show.

Speaker 12 (28:58):
I know it doesn't you know, in crazy everyone but
black people at the hall, especially men, when you're not
used to really happen anything. You know, it's not a
lot of black men whole.

Speaker 7 (29:08):
It's over sixty figures.

Speaker 12 (29:10):
I'm so blessing this cligory.

Speaker 7 (29:12):
Girl, girl, when I.

Speaker 12 (29:13):
Who may mine?

Speaker 2 (29:13):
Make that three times over?

Speaker 12 (29:15):
So when I say the things, it's not just the
mean any tell you, but when you're not used to
having nothing you know what I'm saying, we're not used
to having a high pay. Why thus bothered you when
you when you see here with women say I want
to be pampered and fid and taking care of it.
Why do people always think that when a woman want
those things, she's not bringing nothing to their table. Black women,
it's okay to be full, it's I'm here to be pempered.

(29:38):
You shouldn't want to have as much as your guy.
You shouldnt want to bring what he brings to the table.
The fact you want to take care of your woman
now when you're twenty, When you're twenty years old and
you spring out twenty five, No, you can't afford to
run your whole house of while your wife's say their
home for most.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
Side on it.

Speaker 12 (29:54):
So I'm can I get that?

Speaker 2 (29:56):
But when you open the age like we are, how
do you to the time.

Speaker 12 (30:00):
I want my man to do those things for me,
and I'm it's right, it's okay, black meaning, I'm so afraid,
and they see it's mad that when you when a
woman sit there and say, I seen bring me to
the table, I suppo want to be the provider to
protect it.

Speaker 10 (30:17):
What is wrong with that?

Speaker 12 (30:18):
If you can't afford to be out by it and protected.
Now you should be striving to do that. And man, canny,
these as good as you say you are the woman,
it's not gonna take some brands of you. She's not
gonna do all your money. She's gonna gonna be there
to support and this for y'all are good. But stop
being afraid to let that worker come out that it's
okay to take care of your woman, and it's okay

(30:39):
that's for her story.

Speaker 11 (30:41):
Thank you again for letting me in.

Speaker 4 (30:42):
Man, all right, lady, thank you so much for calling.
And I'm still trying to figure out what email you
were talking about.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
You know, the want of the man.

Speaker 12 (30:50):
Then he say man for money. Don't look at gold
women and this gold diggers because they got it. Oh
that guy that I played, Yeah, yes, girl, well you
got money, you know not how thinking about the gold
come here and just spend a little money on the
woman and saying for you you're not hurt, you're not,
Oh my god, differ about her that it didn't work
out a man with me thinking like that looking about her,

(31:11):
and you made one more good points.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Black women.

Speaker 12 (31:13):
I think we are the only ones who feel like
like that. Oh well he's fifty years old, but he
ain't got a job.

Speaker 8 (31:19):
But girl, I love him.

Speaker 12 (31:20):
Here's good man nothing white women. I'm married him for support,
lancing not I mean, don't get me right than you
love your man.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
But back when we got we gotta start for more.

Speaker 11 (31:31):
I'm just just saying we got to say.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
More than thank you, Meredith. I appreciate you calling.

Speaker 4 (31:37):
She did call on that Chipmunk line, but I understood her,
and I'm just hey, I'm with her. I heard, I
understood every word she said. Let me go back to
this phone line.

Speaker 13 (31:46):
W D I A hello, Hey, so.

Speaker 4 (31:50):
Little daddy, how with you? Birthday boy? At the Valentine's Day?

Speaker 7 (31:58):
Another hour?

Speaker 10 (32:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Good for years?

Speaker 10 (32:03):
Yeah yeah, I told you.

Speaker 13 (32:04):
My my kin folks come to getting it, and all
my most of my family folk, they gonna be down
there at the spot. You're gonna get our squirrel plumba.
I'm gonna shore them fools how to how to do it?

Speaker 3 (32:15):
You know?

Speaker 13 (32:16):
I keep up with the young guys and and the
best of them because I'm a damn so you're my stuff.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Are you a dancing machine?

Speaker 7 (32:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 13 (32:23):
I've been like that all my life.

Speaker 10 (32:25):
Anybody's my family.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
I ain't this.

Speaker 10 (32:31):
I ain't just they tending to lie.

Speaker 7 (32:33):
I tell the truth.

Speaker 13 (32:34):
Okay, look, I want to say this like I said
that the other day. Uh, you know, all this stuff
and to go down and across that water, y'all ain't
talking about that. But the thing is, I'm scared of
the wards. I've been scared of the wards all my life.

(32:55):
I ain't never been dead, no service, nothing that because
my mama wouldn't want me to be in the circ
about about that. It's crazy that everything still stommer, everything
still sky high off the rock rocket and the brand
new year two twenty five. And that's not gonna ever
change because sipping back. Uh, I'm making the stomach, but

(33:18):
I'm hurting at the same time because the I'm stumbling.

Speaker 7 (33:23):
Everybody scuffing the dog.

Speaker 13 (33:25):
How they see what?

Speaker 10 (33:27):
Like I said before summer, and I told Dan Bill
the same thing.

Speaker 13 (33:32):
When they started, when they when that war over there,
and you cry and bank gave them folks trees and
trees and dollars and they tasting up book They getting
that money back? Yeah, ob uh and a crime shame.
And see, I feel like.

Speaker 7 (33:53):
I'm just gonna see.

Speaker 13 (33:54):
I feel like Joe Bicken was down over Republic.

Speaker 7 (33:58):
I'm just gonna see that they just the truth and
to mean I see that.

Speaker 13 (34:02):
So he did. He really didn't do nothing for none
of us, especially with black people or whatever. It's. It's
it's everybody hurts something.

Speaker 5 (34:13):
They need to cut it.

Speaker 13 (34:15):
They need to get rid of these folks that's around here,
say that they gonna have power like that. It's half
for the world and in the United States to get
everything you buy it like right, And they talking about
EDGs missed up. Now you can't buy no eggs no more.
And I ain't I like EDGs. I ain't been buying
no eggs give you because I ain't time. Let the

(34:37):
folks kill me with that. Whatever they said the name
of this stuff here, I got two words for the gold.
They all need to be in the sego and bumped.
They bumped the war and everything.

Speaker 10 (34:49):
Because they passed off.

Speaker 7 (34:53):
All their folks compand together.

Speaker 13 (34:54):
You don't know what the world gonna come to it
in you.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
You really don't. And and and and you got to
be prepared for big Hebrew been telling us that a
long time. Prepare yourselves. But he've been saying a long time.

Speaker 4 (35:05):
We gotta be a little bit better and prepare ourselves
for what's going.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
On in this world.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
Yeah, thank you, little daddy. And speaking of eggs, this
little daddy brought up something and I I hadn't bought
eggs in a minute. I got some eggs at the crib.
I think the last time I bought them there was
about ten dollars when all the last the last ones
I bought they were more at more like six. But

(35:32):
I think of Thanksgiving of they were ten dollars. But
they're stealing the eggs. They's still in the eggs. You
remember I told you all about the heightst last week,
hundred somebody else got five hundred. What you gonna do
with five hundred eggs? I could see if it was
close to Easter. Oh you still be here before you
know it.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
I ain't getting up that got them eggs early. Y'all
wrong for that. Let me just tell you right now,
we ever got all them eggs.

Speaker 5 (36:00):
You wrong.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
What you're gonna do with Dama, even if you did
get him for Easter, it has to be small by then.
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (36:11):
I ain't gonna eat no fifteen thousand days old eggs
made fresh.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
What I want?

Speaker 4 (36:20):
W D I A hello, don't talk about the height. Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello,
all right, we're gonna put that person on hold.

Speaker 10 (36:34):
W D I A hello, honey, you know who to contact?

Speaker 2 (36:37):
Hey, hey, girl, because I know Lady D gonna be
on it. She ain't playing with it. She got she
got five phones and look, my friend.

Speaker 13 (36:47):
Needs to call back incause I had the last.

Speaker 14 (36:52):
I'm last. She talk fast and she joked up on
that crickey.

Speaker 5 (36:55):
Last what.

Speaker 14 (36:58):
I said, Stety, tell then you got that cricking.

Speaker 10 (37:04):
Mass to day you off?

Speaker 2 (37:07):
Well, you know what I didn't.

Speaker 4 (37:08):
I didn't say anything because I could understand everything.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
I could understand everything she was saying.

Speaker 14 (37:14):
She was on the road, she was you don't want
to come out because she said, and just what she
say and back from the time when.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
She gets to you know, she wrapped it up. Yep,
you're no good wall.

Speaker 14 (37:29):
I don't know why.

Speaker 5 (37:31):
I don't know why.

Speaker 14 (37:33):
You know, we we should hold the law.

Speaker 7 (37:36):
We should hold.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
Mephids fine and sad, the count.

Speaker 11 (37:39):
Beds, the preachers, the teachers, we know they should.

Speaker 7 (37:44):
Hold a certain standard.

Speaker 14 (37:46):
But if I go on Facebook and see anything said,
my cousin screens shot me a lot of stuff.

Speaker 4 (37:54):
Wait, so you're talking about the police officer that I
was talking about earlier that posted that about you know
the slave what reparations, that's what you're talking about.

Speaker 14 (38:04):
Yes, okay, so ona what you gonna come out, whether
you're a police officer, whether you're a nurse. If that's
how you see you, so on, a lady is gonna
come out.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
So when they come out this you look at it
this way.

Speaker 11 (38:19):
A love food just because you.

Speaker 2 (38:21):
Got to be a food to think.

Speaker 14 (38:24):
Everybody think they got friends, and they got the little
thing up there that said private. It's nothing private on
social media people, it is nothing nobody to see. So
stop thinking, oh, can't nobody to see that, but me
listen to a lady, d come real close, chapter out.

Speaker 11 (38:47):
Go in your kitchen or go in your car.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
Everything on social media that does b I A. It's
supposed to be.

Speaker 14 (38:56):
A private listeners a hundred please, it's nothing new.

Speaker 4 (39:02):
One of the songs, ain't nothing private, no more nothing,
not a thing, Mike, and just let.

Speaker 14 (39:07):
That lady they're saying she got a cheap name.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
Well, I may somewhere.

Speaker 14 (39:14):
Down the line winning stop getting involved with cheap men
and think they're gonna step up they standards once they
marry you. Now the signs were there, whether you're not,
they go like this, Stormy, let him know off the
top and he will let you know yay or name

(39:37):
or are.

Speaker 11 (39:38):
You two expensive for me?

Speaker 14 (39:41):
So people stop lord, ladies, I'm talking to the ladies now, ladies,
stop loring your standards. And again, he's not gonna do
anything for no Warmer.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
That he don't want.

Speaker 9 (39:57):
But if he won't, you and you his woman Scott
is the limit.

Speaker 2 (40:04):
Talk that talk.

Speaker 14 (40:06):
So stop going around saying some of them emails that
you be reading Storming, I'd.

Speaker 4 (40:12):
Be like, okay, so you didn't know this was going
off now that it did not to her credit, she
says she didn't know.

Speaker 2 (40:20):
She said it happened after the fact, so she she said,
you know, but that tells me, guess.

Speaker 11 (40:28):
What he wasn't doing nothing for her. If you didn't know.

Speaker 2 (40:33):
This us what you didn't know this until you get married?

Speaker 7 (40:37):
Oh storm it please you know.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
It's a joke.

Speaker 14 (40:42):
And that sound like a joke.

Speaker 2 (40:44):
And no lady did'a uh m m.

Speaker 4 (40:46):
Now the woman that told me that she's a sweet woman,
she just said she had a situation like that now everybody.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
Everybody ain't perfect like your life. Your life is. You
got it going on? And I flaunt your sister ladies,
and you got it going on. You you can't. You
got it going on.

Speaker 4 (41:05):
Some people really are having trouble, and I'm not gonna
put them down for the trouble they going through because
we all going through something.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
Everybody got something they go on.

Speaker 4 (41:15):
Everybody trusts me when I tell you you are not
immune from trouble, none of you. We all got something. Hmm,
every last one of us. And we're gonna talk some
more too. It's Valentine's Day. Happy Valentine's Day. I'm getting
your pictures, y'all, sending them pictures in. You got another,

(41:36):
You got a picture you want me to post because
I'm getting ready to post them now on our Facebook page.
You got one you want me to post, send it
in And if you want to call in, do that too.
I'm gonna read some more of your emails and I'm
gonna take your calls. Mister p captain, I think I
had grown man slim and Marcus was trying to call in.

Speaker 2 (41:57):
H So, y'all hold on, I'll get to you. We'll
be back in a moment and we're back.

Speaker 4 (42:05):
Hey, everybody, Happy February at the fourteenth.

Speaker 2 (42:09):
It's today for love us. Happy Valentine's Day, y'all.

Speaker 4 (42:13):
I hope your Valentine's Day is everything that you hoped
it would be. I saw a post on social media
somebody said they don't want no chocolate, clover strawberries. It's
a payish chocolate covered light bill. Hey, I ain't never
heard of no chocolate covered light bill. But hey, if
it works, I hope she gets it paid.

Speaker 2 (42:37):
I do if that's what she won't. You know, a
man might say, you know what, that makes sense.

Speaker 4 (42:47):
Because a lot of people see, you know, buying Valentine's
gifts and things like that is wasteful. Everybody don't think
like me and Meredith, you know what I'm saying, or
sharing Me and Sharon, me and Tracy.

Speaker 2 (43:01):
They don't think of like us, all of them. You know,
some people, you know would rather be practical because the
light bill is due.

Speaker 4 (43:09):
And I'm gonna tell you some fellas, if the light
bill is doing, you better pay it forget them chocolates
and strawberries and flowers. We would rather have you pay
the light bill than to give us some for Valentine's Day.

Speaker 2 (43:24):
You know what I'm saying, yess, the little things. It
is the little things.

Speaker 4 (43:28):
And I'm gonna tell you sometimes with men, because I
tried to answer my girlfriend's question when she said, what
do you do? What do you do for a man
who won't take a gift? How do you say thank you?
And I say you be kind? You know, be kind,

(43:49):
Maybe write a note, maybe you know, something like that,
because they don't want Some of them don't want grand
gestures they want to do for you, they don't want
Some people don't want it, some women don't want it.
Some of them just don't want it. Let me read
some of these emails, and I'm gonn tell y'all what

(44:09):
a funeral kid is. Then I get back, got to
get back to these phone lines. Miss Rambert says, shaking
my head. Really man, First off, to the poor excuse
of a police sergeant and negro Your ancestors shouldn't have
been owning slaves period. Second, not only should black Americans

(44:30):
be compensated by the way the reparations we should be
able to rewrite some of these laws. Black Americans built
the country. You should be ashamed of yourself and a
mental evaluation should be mandated in your case. Happy Valentine's Day,
everyone who cares for this day. If you care for
this day, she says, Happy Valentine's Day, do you? Tracy

(44:53):
says police officer. That doesn't shock me. That's who sixty
percent of them are. A Clyde shouldn't be shocked either,
since he supports Trump. I'm surprised he said the man
should be fired. Mister Burke says, Happy Friday, Happy Valentine's Day.
A person can't stop you from buying a gift. It's

(45:16):
up to them if they accept it or not.

Speaker 2 (45:19):
Okay, okay.

Speaker 7 (45:23):
Ms.

Speaker 4 (45:24):
Tracy says, that's my girl talking about Meredith. I always
seem to agree with her, and she was on point today.
We should want more for ourselves. It's okay to be
spoiled and taken care of. That's how God intended it
to be. Man is supposed to provide and protect and
African consultants says tell Meredith. All money ain't good money.

(45:48):
Drug dealers got long money.

Speaker 2 (45:53):
They do they do. They got long money to England.

Speaker 4 (45:57):
Some of y'all are sending me pictures, Miss Glass. Your
picture didn't come through. I'm trying to click it and
it ain't coming through, So I don't know what's up
with that. I did post some pictures, by the way,
and honey, y'all need to go see him. Ten seventy
WD I A. You know, miss Pat from Calium met Park, Illinois.

(46:18):
She sent me a picture of her and her husband,
Her and her man, her man, her man, Uh, nurse Beverlee,
oh child looking fresh. Coach Greg looking good. Coach Greg said,
mister Henrilee, you step on back.

Speaker 2 (46:34):
Meredith. Is that you Meredith? Oh my goodness, girl, you
are gorgeous? Okay?

Speaker 13 (46:44):
Married? Is that you?

Speaker 4 (46:47):
Because the picture said Mark and Meredith, And I'm curious, girl,
is that you.

Speaker 2 (46:53):
Meredith? It's a bad sister. Wd I A hello.

Speaker 8 (47:00):
I had the most erudite mind, brilliant thinker and political philosopher.

Speaker 7 (47:05):
Happy Valentine Day to you.

Speaker 2 (47:07):
Happy Valentine's Day to you black conservatives.

Speaker 8 (47:11):
You know he had tired uh lived at him lived
at and calling him whining about by president, whining about
something you don't even worry about, nothing that's going on.

Speaker 7 (47:21):
On the other side of the world.

Speaker 8 (47:23):
He can't get stuff right over there on the side
of the town that he in, so he called in
whine and whine and whine and wine and complaining. Enjoy
your birthday, man, it's your birthday weekend.

Speaker 4 (47:33):
Let it go.

Speaker 8 (47:34):
Just let it go, you know. But I think that,
and I agree with with Mareyson. This is pindly gonna
make her fall out her uh her seat. I agree
with it, though you you had to. I don't think
guys do that enough for their fiancee h.

Speaker 7 (47:57):
I don't think they doing enough. He got these guys cheap.

Speaker 8 (48:00):
They don't do it enough, you know, and they don't
want to go. They still want to take them to
the same look restaurants where everybody bring the whole family there.
You need to take it to a restaurant where you
ain't got.

Speaker 7 (48:17):
The whole neighborhood coming, you know. Take take it, yeah,
take it down on.

Speaker 8 (48:25):
Take it down to take Ver to Moondans, and take
it to on the railroad there to Mahogany. You know,
take a take over there for some places where you
know you're gonna have to make.

Speaker 7 (48:36):
An effort, you know.

Speaker 8 (48:38):
Okay, you know, stop taking them over there. They don't
want to go to No Mexican restaurant, no piccadillys.

Speaker 2 (48:47):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 7 (48:50):
That's the way.

Speaker 8 (48:50):
We're taking little places over there. We're going to the
Crock Park.

Speaker 4 (48:54):
Well some of them. We now to be five. That's
the best some people.

Speaker 2 (48:59):
Can do, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 8 (49:01):
Yeah, there ain't anything to do because you got there.
They know Valentine Day is approaching, is coming. You got
to prepare ahead, playing ahead, you know. So these are
special occasions. It's not something that you do all the time.
But you know on Valentine Night, on Valentine Day, he's

(49:22):
gonna take them out to dinner.

Speaker 7 (49:24):
You know. So far you got to.

Speaker 8 (49:27):
Whine and dynam You're gonna need at least a minimum
two fifty to wine and dinam a minimum, you know,
because you just don't want a glass of wine. She
may want a bottle of wine. Sit there, I one't
glass of wine for ten bucks and you sit there
and drink water and tea and I'm talking about giving

(49:51):
me a femin like you popped in the mouth.

Speaker 4 (49:54):
All right, Black Conservative, thank you so much for calling in.

Speaker 2 (49:57):
All right, all right, bye bye.

Speaker 4 (50:00):
I think it's I think it's fair that little Daddy
has his concerns. You know, he doesn't he doesn't want
a war to break out.

Speaker 2 (50:08):
I don't either, you know.

Speaker 4 (50:11):
And he he, he calls and he shares his concerns
and that's on his heart. He don't want to see that.

(51:00):
the captain has been there for me when I was
sick and down.

Speaker 4 (51:04):

Speaker 11 (51:12):
Right now, because he think I had forgotten about it.
But you don't forget. Nobody will be there for you
when you're down. Yeah, and you're a mighty bad You're
feeling mighty bad, you know. So Nicollin checked on me
and I think I had that flew or whatever going on.
Could hally move and he asked me could he give
me anything? And I said, yeah, if you don't mind.

(51:33):
I said, I need a rochisserie chicken. That's I'm gonna
make me some of the soup.

Speaker 10 (51:38):
Yeah, and a woman.

Speaker 11 (51:40):
And I can't forget what the other item was, but
it was three items. And he went to the store
and he got those items and he delivered them to
my home. Wow, and I thank him.

Speaker 15 (51:52):
So.

Speaker 7 (51:52):
I think it was a.

Speaker 11 (51:53):
Cold, rainy day or whatever, but he got out there
and did that for me, and those type of things.

Speaker 7 (51:59):
To me, you never forget.

Speaker 14 (52:00):
He didn't.

Speaker 11 (52:03):
He showed himself to be a true friend. But out
then the streams attacked. So happy Valanine Day till you
is beautiful.

Speaker 14 (52:14):
Thank you.

Speaker 11 (52:14):
Look, let me say this about Clyde. Heard Clyde yesterday
he said that he's an atheist. But in the same
grand if I heard him say the reason he's an
atheist because he don't want to give all this money
to the church. So Clyde, if that's the reason you
are an atheist because of money, and you may love
the Lord and don't even know what you know, that's

(52:35):
what he said, right, he said he's not gonna give
all this money to the church. He said he don't
believe in God, so.

Speaker 9 (52:41):
I don't know if he is.

Speaker 11 (52:42):
That the reason he's not, you know, don't believe in God.
But I don't know, but I hope that he does.

Speaker 2 (52:49):
It sounds like he's a little angry.

Speaker 4 (52:50):
Huh.

Speaker 11 (52:52):
I don't know. He just said, I'm not gonna give
a preacher. Somebody said about he said it atheist though,
just he might love the Lord, not even knowing unaware
that's what I'm He'll call in and explain it.

Speaker 4 (53:07):
Yeah, well, you know, it's interesting you'd say that, because
he just emailed. He said, black conservative disappointed me today.
I wish I would go out and spend two hundred
and fifty dollars on a Valentine's Day.

Speaker 11 (53:21):
Well, if you ain't got it, you know, yeah, you ain't.

Speaker 2 (53:25):
Yeah, if you don't have it, you can't.

Speaker 11 (53:28):
And let me say to my girl, married it, Meridith.
When you call in, first of all, storm, I don't
let her talk on that chipmunk line. Just tell her
to recall I wanted to.

Speaker 2 (53:37):
I wanted to, but I could understand every word she said.

Speaker 11 (53:40):
Though it's not fair. Though it's not fair. So I
keep telling her MARIORI slow down in bibby oj boys,
which is Beki is hill?

Speaker 2 (53:49):
She sure is beautiful? Ain't she love that?

Speaker 11 (53:52):
She is going here?

Speaker 7 (53:53):
That's my girl though?

Speaker 2 (53:55):
Did you see the picture on.

Speaker 14 (53:59):
Meridi?

Speaker 11 (54:00):
It's beautiful anyway? That's that, just go over to here.
But she's a boyeous lady anyway.

Speaker 2 (54:06):
Is I had no idea?

Speaker 4 (54:10):
Yeah, bad girl just like you, babe, because Golden Girl
is a bad girl herself. Thank you, honey, have a
good day and happy Valentine's Day to you all right?

See your ears must be ringing? Did you hear?

Speaker 5 (54:47):
What?

Speaker 10 (54:47):
Did you hear?

Speaker 2 (54:48):
What Golden Girl just said about you?

Speaker 10 (54:50):
And she's never and she never lied because I do
a lot of people.

Speaker 7 (54:55):
I go to pumials, I do all the come I said.

Speaker 10 (54:57):
But like I said, it's unsungd well who.

Speaker 7 (55:00):
Who I am?

Speaker 16 (55:00):
Because when you when you was to meet me or
be with me, you would hear people talk a lot
of stuff about who I am.

Speaker 2 (55:05):
But I don't tell people all that.

Speaker 16 (55:07):
Other folks do because I work with a lot of millionaires,
a lot of entertainers in Memphis and Motown. And when
I tell them who I am, a lot of people,
like my Grandchardren don't believe nothing I say. They don't
believe I was Rick Jane bodyguard and all this type
of stuff.

Speaker 10 (55:18):
I tell them.

Speaker 7 (55:19):
They don't believe.

Speaker 16 (55:20):
But I laugh about it because I said, I lived this.
In the seventeen eighties. I lived a reverendie thing in Halllem,
New York.

Speaker 3 (55:26):
I lived it.

Speaker 16 (55:27):
I said, are local. But I came back to Memphis and.

Speaker 7 (55:30):
I see a lot of people.

Speaker 10 (55:31):
I said, you know, they're just.

Speaker 7 (55:32):
Still here, They're just existing.

Speaker 16 (55:34):
But then, thank you a big leg, major Rent I
call her.

Speaker 2 (55:38):
She got the big, big red bone leg.

Speaker 16 (55:40):
She was a major red high stepping So thank you
very much and everything. And I said, I do it
again because, like I told you, Lady p did it
for me when I was down and out, lost my
girlfriend and lost a lot of people in two thousand
and seven, she was right there with me, even though
she tried to get me drunk off wine.

Speaker 7 (55:55):
But the thing is, she was stayed at the table
with me.

Speaker 16 (55:58):
I was the cameraman going around a lot of clubs
and all that stuff, and she right there with me,
there's something wrong with you. And I said, ain't nothing wrong.
But I lost seven people in one month. They ain't
ever live to see Obama coming in presidency. They talk
against it, fought against me all it, but they passed away,
just up and died, just went to bed and died.
Took me home one wins, all of them with forty
nine fifty years old.

Speaker 2 (56:18):
It just whooped me.

Speaker 16 (56:19):
I said, what I Lord, So I'm telling for cherriage
to people in your life. These people are very important.
If you plan on doing something in you a lot
of years fifty sixty, do it right most cycle back fishing,
whatever you plan on doing with the grandchildren, get up.

Speaker 7 (56:33):
And do it.

Speaker 16 (56:33):
But right now I just called in again to tell
the molasses of Pine Bluff missed molasses. You are to
have a great weekend Valentine Weekend.

Speaker 2 (56:43):
I plan on.

Speaker 13 (56:44):
Bodyguarding you tomorrow.

Speaker 16 (56:45):
But if I don't, it's because the weather got me too.
That's the only reason I stay away from all tomorrow.
If I don't be at all the events and everything.

Speaker 4 (56:52):
You know what I'm showing it. You come and your
night will be on me. Captain okay, Well I want
go and.

Speaker 16 (57:01):
Get a table on our table team.

Speaker 10 (57:02):
So I ain't gonna do that on this I just
have no table teams.

Speaker 16 (57:05):
So all you folks calling in and all you ladies,
I wish you all well, because still I say, if
I'm not your man, don't ask me for two fifty gift.
I mean, my daughter just left your saying what else
you give me? I just gave up some gift, but
she said what else? She got a big old basket
pull of stuff and don't know who left it on
the poet over there.

Speaker 7 (57:23):
I said, listen, just be glad for what you got.
If you get a card things the time, I said,
if they give you a family.

Speaker 16 (57:28):
Dollar card or whatever, be glad for that for something
for nothing. I said, look, I don't even hear from you,
but I want everybody still to hold your head up
and don't think about the dead and all the ones
that passed on.

Speaker 2 (57:41):

your life.
