Speaker 1 (00:00):
For a lot of us, today feels like Monday, but
it's not. Today is a Tuesday. Mm hm, it's Tuesday.
And I say that because and I know, I know,
because a lot of people that listen to this radio
station you live the life of leisure. Today may feel
like Thursday to you, may feel like a Saturday because
(00:21):
you have nothing to do. Well, I don't know. Some
of y'all probably are busier now than you were before
you retired or you know, before you came into a
lot of money. Congratulations by the way. But yeah, so
today feels like a Tuesday for me because I was
off for three days, but not really off because I
had the chance to see Lady P and Big Kahona.
(00:47):
This pasted it was Sunday. Yeah, so big shout out
to Lady P. Hey, Lady P and Melvin. I met Melvin.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
They came down to West Memphis to Mayor Marco mclenden's restaurant,
a Big Kahuna and his wife Lady P sisters. I
believe it was Barbara and Pam. Am I right, I hope,
I hope I got that right. But I'm gonna tell
you something. Lady P talked the whole time, y'all. She
(01:19):
talked through the whole comedy show, the last comedian. He
stopped a couple times to have a conversation. You know
what she did, bussed out, laughing like she does. But
she had herself a good time and we had a
good time just watching her have a good time. She
had on her tiara, a crown on her head. You go,
lady be having her blue outfit. Ah My, good looking, amazing,
(01:44):
What a nice looking couple, Lady p and Melvin. And
thank you to Big Kahuna and his beautiful wife. They
came out as well. Big Cahun got a beautiful wife.
They're a beautiful couple. Beautiful couple. But anyway, I saw
them on Sunday again, thanks for coming out to all
of you. Because there were other folks in there from
(02:05):
WDI that listened to WDA two. We took pictures and
I posted them on ten seventy WDIA the website. And
today I had a chance to meet Jasmine Guy and
Don Lewis. Y'all remember them, y'all ever watched a Different World? Yeah,
hanging out with Habitat for Humanity. I'm gona tell you
something I learned some things about Habitat for Humanity today
(02:26):
that I did not know even you know, when Dwayne Spencer,
the CEO of Habitat of the Memphis branch, when he
came back, I didn't know Habitat for Humanity. I thought
those houses they were building were free. They're not free.
But what's so beautiful is for the people that go
(02:46):
through their program, they get to buy a house with
zero person interest. What you imagine, can you imagine what
your house note would be? Think about it? What would
your house no B if all you paid was principal,
if all that extra stuff wasn't known it, you know
(03:06):
what I'm saying. Even if the interest rate, well, no,
you wouldn't have an interest rate. So if you had
an interest free home and all you were paying, can
you imagine what your house note would be? Wouldn't be
what it is today? Mm mmmmm.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
Man.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
So that's the a lot of the great work that
they're doing. They're helping people get into homes, and Habitat
for Humanity just doing great work in the city of Memphis.
Y'all there, they're okay. Habitat for Humanity is a national
organization organization, But I learned today that they are actually
the number of their fifth rated habitat for humanity in
(03:46):
the country, the one here in Memphis. Can y'all believe that?
And Jasmine Guy and Don Lewis were amazing and it
was hosted by Memphis's own CARMEI carmeon Hamilton on today.
So we was at the Pea by to. So I
went to the people. I got me, you know, I
had to go up and do the welcome, and I
got me. I had to get a little lunch because
(04:07):
you know, my stomach was filling, you know, So I
got me a little lunch. They give you the nicest
bags when you go into the peabody, and I got
this bag. I ate all my food. I got this
bag and I'm trying to figure out what to do
with it. Do I take it to the house and
put it in my drawer with all the other bags? Baby,
what is it about us? I'll tell you one thing.
(04:28):
And I never I don't know. I didn't think I would.
I didn't think, you know, I would do this. I
didn't think that, you know, I would have a drawer
full of bags. And I didn't think that there would
be bags inside of a bread baby. I got bags.
(04:49):
Let me tell you something. I don't be baying all
them garbage bags. Shoot, I got bags, but this bag
is so nice I could probably put a gift in it.
So I'm like, do I throw this away? Why do
we think like that? Why do we do that? We
gotta you know, you don't. Don't judge me. You know
you got a drawer or something at home with full
(05:10):
of bags. Let me tell you when I go to
Man who got the best bags? Target got some good bags.
We'll go to Target. Well, we we boycotting right now.
But you know I was, I don't run out of
Target bags. But uh Kroger their bags not the best.
But you know what I'm saying. You go to the
store and you just collect them. You don't throw them
things away. Sure, my mama taught me that throw them
(05:33):
bags away. I don't know if y'all saw it. Let
me tell you something. And I'm not talking about the
AMA's But I don't know if y'all been on I
forty lately on that bridge, honted a video captured holes
in the I forty bridge pavement. My lord, now her,
(05:53):
we got money to build a new bridge. We need
two new bridges. Sound like now because how you get
a how you get a pothole in the I forty bridge?
I mean, seriously, how you get a pothole in the bridge?
Have y'all seen it? It's video on social media's I
mean it's yeah, it's on the new everybody's talking about
(06:15):
m w R EG done wrote a whole story about
it because they're like, I mean, seriously, though, how does
how I don't know. I don't know how you get
a I don't know how you get a pothole in
the bridge, but it's in there. Let me just tell
you that it's in there. So you guys did not
talk about it this morning, but I just I just
knew that somebody was gonna call and talk about this story.
(06:37):
So I did this story in the news on stands
show this morning. I did the story.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
Now.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
Now, nah, I ain't trying to I ain't trying to
be messy or nothing like that. But uh, okay, I'm
just confused and maybe there's part of the story that
they just didn't outside. I saw the story on w
R e G. I saw the story on Fox thirteen
about man whose car was set on fire and he
(07:02):
ran into the house. Okay, so he told police. This
is what Fox thirteen is saying. The man told police
that he was riding on Airways Boulevard. Follow me now,
riding on Airways Boulevard early Monday morning when his child's mother.
See the other story didn't have a child's mother, It
just said somebody to poured gasoline in this couple listening
to it. The child's mother pulled up next to him
(07:24):
in another car. She hopped out of the car. She
poured gasolene inside of the car. It lit the man
on fire. Some's missing? Anybody else confused? Someth's missing from
the story. The man tried to drive away, but crashed
(07:45):
out at a fence in front of a home on
Airways Boulevard. Now they got the folks out. Everybody's okay,
but I'm confused. Something's missing. What happened here? She hot hot?
And how you sit still long enough for somebody? Poor
gasoline inside joke. I'm missing something and I hate that
(08:07):
that happened to her him, I really do. But she
pulled up beside him, hopped out his remix. His reflexes
must have been slow because because uh uh, ain't no way,
ain't no way. I'm gonna let you pull up beside
me and poor no gasoline and said, I'm out as
soon as I see you with a gag SCB coming
(08:28):
next to me, I'm out. So I'm just I'm I'm confused.
He must not have been paying any attention. It just
sounds like something's missing from that story. I don't know.
Maybe it's me, but y'all to y'all, if you, if
you confuse, to hit me up and tell me what
you think about that story, because I I don't know.
Shabooze last night at the AMAS. You know, he's up
(08:53):
there trying to, you know, talk about the Country Music
Awards and oh my goodness, you know, and so this
young girl was him. She's she got some to say,
you know what I'm saying. You know how they always
got some to say some wise crack, you know, they
got to stay something, just gotta gotta say something. So
he's trying to give the award and and this this
is what that, This is what that, This is what
(09:13):
she said. This is what the girl said. And this
award went to the Carter family, who basically invented country music. See,
she tried to be funny. She boo gave up the
side I she tried to be fun This is the
AMA's like. I know y'all might have missed that part.
But why she say that? Because now you so okay,
So now you done opened up a can, so we
so now we got to educate you. Shaboozie said, Google
(09:35):
Less lit Riddle, Steve Tartar, Harry Gay, Defau Bailey and
the Carter family. Google, ma all, since y'all try to
be funny, because y'all trying to say, y'all started, would
you try to be funny on stage? She did not
have to say that, but there was some other things
(09:56):
that happened on that stage that the amage didn't have
to happen. Let me tell you something. I said this
a minute ago in my tea Janet Jackson. I don't
give what she had on, and I know you know
she wear what she want to wear, you know. But
I'm gonna tell you some Jennet Jackson fifty nine, fifty.
Let that sink in. She fifty nine, She fifty nine,
(10:25):
I'm something fifty something. I can't dance like that, man,
I'll be moving so slow when I'll be doing a
boost on the ground, I can't down. She's fifty nine
fifty nine. Let that sink in. But anyway, she you know,
(10:48):
gave him the history. You know, he said, the real
history of country music is about people coming together despite
their differences and embracing and celebrating things that make us alike.
But why are other people other? Why are they so
upset that that a lot of the music, if not
(11:10):
all of it, not all of it. I don't know
if we did the kind of music they do. Remember
some of that music they did on heat Hall back
in the day, and they I don't think we came
up with that stuff. You know, they we not not everything,
but but but but but but black people were there.
She was trying to tell give him some history, you
(11:31):
know what I'm saying, And he was nice about it
because he could have said something on stage and he
did not because he know, you know, you know, you
gotta because that's what he's in. He's doing the country
music that you can't well.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Shy.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
I'm just I'm just too through with j Low. I
didn't see it. I didn't see that coming. I did
I didn't two through. Why why just why why? I
mean why everybody else has done it? I thought it
was I thought it was played out to do that stuff. Why,
(12:11):
But I'm gonna tell you what it made me think about.
I said, Oh, Diddy's on trial. Diddy is on trial
for doing all these freak offs? Who dated Diddy forever?
Who was with him when that shooting went down in
(12:33):
the club that time? And I m hm, I and
I'm I'm I'm maybe it's me. I'm tripping. So Diddy's
on trial. Why there are certain people I'm confused about
because we know us you used to live with him,
(12:54):
We know Justin Bieber was was around. Why aren't they
and and and I don't know that whole Diddy thing,
But j Lo did that last night while Didd he's
on trial for freakoffs, and you basically did a freakoff
on stage at the AMA's make it makes sense? It don't.
(13:16):
Why would she do that? I don't get it, I
promise you I don't. I don't understand what the what
the logic is behind it. But y'all tell me. Do
y'all think that we had a lot to do with
country music or whatever you're thinking? You know what I'm
saying about them amas or whatever? I'm and helped me
(13:38):
with the young man with the gustline and he probably
I don't know, I'd probably be still shaking. I may
not be able to tell everything, the whole story too.
So maybe that's what it is. He just did. And okay,
n on one five three, five, nine, three four two
eight hundred five zero three ninety three four two eight
three three five three five nine three four two. Those
(13:59):
are the numbers. Take that. You can tap that iHeartRadio app.
Or you can hit me up at Stormy Tea at
my w d i A dot com. Let's go to
the phones wd I A.
Speaker 5 (14:09):
Hello, Hey, good evening, storman.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Hey good evening. Read how you doing?
Speaker 4 (14:15):
Yeah, I'm doing good. You know black people did in
being country music. Let me tell you, why do you
know the main instrument in country music?
Speaker 1 (14:28):
What is it?
Speaker 4 (14:30):
It's the banjo, right, I don't know, Yes, the main
country music. If you look at at all of the
country music that I never really watched, he Hall and
all of this stuff, but the main instrument was the banjo.
And if you if you google the banjo, the banjo
was an instrument from West Africa.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (14:49):
And they actually brought that banjo over here and they
started playing the country music on these plantations and stuff
like that.
Speaker 6 (14:56):
So that's where the country music came from.
Speaker 5 (14:58):
Wow, did black.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
People used to all of the music?
Speaker 6 (15:00):
If you google who.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
Invented the country music?
Speaker 4 (15:03):
Just google it and it will tell you black people
invented the country music.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Why but why are they so upset with us even
saying that, or even why are people so upset with
us talking about it right now?
Speaker 6 (15:14):
Well, you know they upset with everything right now.
Speaker 7 (15:17):
You know it's it's.
Speaker 4 (15:18):
Man, it's a sign of time with this person we
have in the White House right now, it's that sign
of time. You see how they're marching everywhere with all
of these flags, and they're always talking about.
Speaker 7 (15:29):
You know, don't don't, don't dethrowing.
Speaker 6 (15:31):
The flag and don't do this to the flag.
Speaker 4 (15:33):
And all of these racist people are walking with these
flags they're made up part of American flag and part
of this and all of that. They're doing all of
that stuff right now. So you know, it's a sign
of time. And you know, we just needed we just
need to put our armor guard on it and just
try to stay prepared to say everything.
Speaker 6 (15:53):
And I don't want to take up too much time because.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
I hate to hear all these long talkers get on
this radio. I just want to say one more thing.
Got right the bridge this morning?
Speaker 1 (16:02):
You did.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
I went across that bridge this morning and they have
patched up all of those holes.
Speaker 6 (16:06):
And trust me, those holes were big. Not the size
of it eighteen will retire.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
They were big.
Speaker 6 (16:13):
Actually, yes, you can see actually see where the.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
Holes were patched.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
But I saw the video and you can see the
rebars which is the metal pipe.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Yes, you see that.
Speaker 6 (16:25):
But when I went over there this morning. I went
over there this morning about eight thirty nine o'clock.
Speaker 5 (16:29):
All patch.
Speaker 6 (16:30):
But the highways steals.
Speaker 4 (16:32):
Up and anybody heading, anybody heading between Austin Pea and
the summer the flyover, you all need it.
Speaker 5 (16:42):
I'm killing you.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
That is they're they're getting ready to repay the road.
And if you're hitting eastbound on that, you might as
well get in the line or take a detour.
Speaker 5 (16:50):
Because that line is.
Speaker 6 (16:51):
From it's from Austin Pee.
Speaker 5 (16:54):
From here to down yeah, from coming.
Speaker 6 (16:56):
To the pipe all the way back to Hollywood right now.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
So it's gonna take you some time. If you're going
across I forty that bridge, yes.
Speaker 4 (17:02):
Yeah, yeah, if you're going out boarding east Brown and
you might go get off on Jackson or something because
the traffic is backed up so bad.
Speaker 6 (17:09):
I mean, they just don't even make any sense.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
I wonder if it was like that over the weekend.
Thank you Red for that report. I appreciate that. All right, Yeah,
I wonder if it was like that this weekend because
I didn't go when I went over to into West Memphis,
I went to fifty five, and fifty five is just fine.
Speaker 6 (17:26):
W d I A hello, Hey, what's the stormy?
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Hey, miss jewe L. How you doing.
Speaker 8 (17:32):
I'm doing fine, hard good.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
I'm doing good, doing good on this right on this
terrific Tuesday, Taco Tuesday? Which one is it? Both of them?
Speaker 8 (17:42):
I don't know, Okay it.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
Is?
Speaker 4 (17:48):
Is it just me?
Speaker 1 (17:49):
But I'm gonna tell you, I have my my I've
been turning the heat on and then the er on.
It's not just me, Okay I thought it was just me.
Speaker 8 (18:00):
No, No, it could be. You could be a nemy
because I am when he shouldn't like that. And they
don't have me on blood thinners. But I need to
be on something because the medicine they got over the
counter you can yet to take, but it don't work,
(18:23):
it don't want so it ain't no need to me.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
I tried then that don't work, so it is kind
of chilling.
Speaker 9 (18:30):
I thank you for that shout out. Maybe that man.
Speaker 8 (18:33):
Was being shocked when she put that gasoline in there.
Maybe he just wasn't paying attention.
Speaker 6 (18:38):
That's what it sounded like to me, because.
Speaker 8 (18:42):
If I would have known somebody was going to do that,
I would have been got out.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
That car ain't no where in the world.
Speaker 8 (18:47):
I was saying, no car, about nobody pulling no gasoline,
And I wonder what was she thinking about when.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
She was doing me. She must have been mad or
some gasoline on somebody. He said it was his child's mother.
What do you do to her? I mean, why why
she do that?
Speaker 8 (19:06):
I don't know, but that's not a good thing.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
And I haven't heard you know anything about an arrest
or anything like that.
Speaker 8 (19:15):
I heard you mentioned that this morning. I'm like, oh lord,
what's wrong with the people? And then they tell me
crying getting better.
Speaker 10 (19:23):
No, it's not.
Speaker 8 (19:26):
It's start to getting worse than words. It ain't getting better.
And people need to stop saying it's Memphis.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
It's not Memphis.
Speaker 8 (19:34):
It's got something to do with the population making Memphis
look bad.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
Mm you think so yes, it is. Okay, I gotcha.
Speaker 11 (19:42):
Yes, it is the.
Speaker 8 (19:43):
Same way with Chicago. Everybody saying in Chicago, it's not Chicago.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
It's got something to do with the people is everywhere.
Speaker 9 (19:51):
Huh yes, the city.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
How do the city make itself look bad?
Speaker 6 (19:56):
Come on that?
Speaker 1 (19:57):
Hmm?
Speaker 8 (19:59):
And it only for me doing one bang and that
stands Steve.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Mmmmm, I got your misster. Well all right, thank you,
all right, Well I love you too. Have a good one. Okay,
alright you too, all right, bye bye. Uh let me
see here, African consultants says. He says, red is right.
Charlie Pride sang country music. He sure did, sure did.
(20:27):
He said, Red is right. White folks told everything. Uh
the I forty bridge and that bridge is the responsibility
of the federal government.
Speaker 9 (20:36):
Hmm.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
Interesting some of y'all tapping that up. I'm gonna go
there in a minute. But let me go back to
the phones. W D I A hello, How you doing,
I'm good, I'm forgetful.
Speaker 6 (20:48):
How you doing?
Speaker 11 (20:49):
He's doing on that gasoline stuff? Uh, you said that
was sold on a woman.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
No, it was thrown on a man. A woman. He
said it was his child's mother. He was stopped, I
guess at a light, is what he told police. He
said he was sitting on airways Bulevard early Monday morning
when his child's mother pulled up next to him in
another car, hopped out and poured gasoline inside of his car.
(21:17):
It lit the man on fire.
Speaker 11 (21:20):
Okay, let me tell you something. Storm and situations like that.
We need to change the lawyer and make that attempted murder.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
It could be. It could be.
Speaker 11 (21:30):
She should be storm because if you ever saw a
perchon that that something like that that happened.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
To her, it's really shame.
Speaker 11 (21:37):
I know somebody that that happened like that storm to
Brutifo and everything, and they set on fire. And you
know he just said. The man said, you know something
like this, They should be set on fire. But she's
still walking around here proud. You know what I'm saying.
I love that, you know, because they'll mess their head up.
(21:59):
But it ain't thathing still walking proud and you know,
burn all in the face and everywhere. It's just ridiculous. Man,
Something like a person like this should be locked up.
They are danger to side. If you have to do
something like that to hear anything, you are danger to
(22:20):
society need to be.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
Locked up to him, that's something else.
Speaker 11 (22:26):
And dealing with this habitat to a manager the houses
and what's a good man? I love that, that's a
good thing. It ain't nothing like what's going on back
in the back in the past that's going on right
now to them, I mean being tore up so much,
or things like they're being packed every three months or something.
(22:48):
You know, if there ain'tybody out there got any counter
solutions to where your stuff can be permanent. I mean,
you know these houses are blowing away. I mean right
now I'm in an old house to them built strong statics,
I mean everything. You know what I'm saying, one of
the good wooden brick houses, that's strong.
Speaker 7 (23:09):
Way.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
How old is your house? Forget for you don't mind
me asking.
Speaker 11 (23:14):
So it got to be one hundred years old?
Speaker 1 (23:16):
Wow, okay, I'm telling you.
Speaker 11 (23:19):
They just that we done lost all that.
Speaker 9 (23:21):
I mean, people don't even say it.
Speaker 11 (23:24):
That's why a lot of this stuff is getting blown away.
Speaker 6 (23:28):
Yeah, I mean, we just because we.
Speaker 11 (23:32):
Want to be with the new things now, Jal that's
what she's doing through them, kissing on women, bringing in
legs and ens and stuff.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
Back did you watch it last night? The AMA's last night?
Only what I on here is on.
Speaker 11 (23:49):
I'm gonna watch like stuff like I used to because
it's all poisoned now. Everything out there is poison. Used
to be true and good. You can look at the
expressions and people phrase you then and hear what they say.
Now it's all funny, drifted poison the man of people,
(24:11):
you know, And what's.
Speaker 6 (24:13):
It all about?
Speaker 1 (24:13):
Now?
Speaker 6 (24:14):
But what was that?
Speaker 11 (24:15):
Get myself in the mix with that?
Speaker 9 (24:18):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
I got you.
Speaker 11 (24:21):
I haven't got you the point now, storm, I could
just look at you and tell you what time he
is with you now?
Speaker 1 (24:26):
Mmmmmm a poison?
Speaker 4 (24:32):
Oh man?
Speaker 11 (24:33):
Everything just say it like I say. I don't want
to be a part of it.
Speaker 1 (24:39):

We got a lot of rain.
Speaker 9 (27:15):
But anyway, if I had been that guy in the
car and his girlfriend, his wife or whoever was coming
up to put gasoline in It ain't no way out
of stayed in that car unless unless she slipped up
on him, you know, parked her car somewhere, drove on
up close to him.
Speaker 6 (27:31):
And maybe she did that the trap had stopped or something.
Speaker 9 (27:33):
But anyway I would have got out of her way.
No way, I would have been sitting there waiting on
that and then and I'm glad they mentioned that bridge
over there with the front hols because I was playing
on coming to Memphis tomorrow, so I'm not coming down
the pass it up.

But anyway, they had a graduation down here in Lee
County also, but it was a shooting, you know. I
don't know who got shot, but somebody got shot, you know,
and somebody got hurt. It was just a bad thing
down here this weekend.
Speaker 6 (28:46):
And then they too, they had prompted then too, they.
Speaker 9 (28:49):
Had the school anniversary. You know, people come in to
celebrate the school anniversary for eighty nineteen eighty five. Graduated
in nineteen eighty five, and they had a big thing
going on down there. So they had so much things
going on here and the count of during the weekend.

Going with a lot of right, you can't complain because
it's gonna go away with God said it's gonna that's right.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
But you know this is kind of typical for May
in Memphis.
Speaker 9 (29:44):
Yeah, it's cool. And after why when we.
Speaker 11 (29:49):
Will be hollish?
Speaker 9 (29:51):

me this is the world we live in now that
you can't you watching the TV and you look up
they promoted Everson and you got men and women kissing

Lin.
Speaker 9 (31:21):
All the things you can do is just peace, be still.
And that used to be mean. You know when we
were young. You know, we used to call them civils.
You want a little short men and spurs, the go
go boots and you had the little paddles out of there.
(31:41):
That's nasty. So it ain't nothing new under the sun, stormy,
just like right now the clothes that they are paying
one hundred dollars for one hundred and fifty for past
jeans that when we didn't pay for eight dollars nine
ninety nine. This stack in your shoes and the platform,

Speaker 12 (32:29):
You've been nothing done.
Speaker 9 (32:30):
That girl put up. You don't have to put on
no long dress. But extensor, I call the dimples. If
you got all little dippers behind you, why you putting
on that dress?
Speaker 1 (32:42):
And you know that you don't need it all, So just.
Speaker 9 (32:47):

It's like, why would you do that in Puffy on trial?

Right the way the weather was. I mean, you know
this at the first of Murray's Day that uh, you
know just just went right. You know all it's rain
and cloud. I mean you know it just went right
to me. You know, I didn't too much uh care
for it? Uh, Storm that I want.
Speaker 5 (38:41):

I got an email from miss mister Rita. Mister Rita
was on the Pulse this weekend talking about, you know,
her diagnoses with the cancer and then the Mid South
Chevy Dealers they blessed her with a five thousand dollars
(40:06):
gift because she participated online. We had a contest and
told you guys to you know, hit us up and
tell us about your sister Struti if it was on
our website. And at any rate, she was one of
the folks that that registered or told us her story,
and you know, we were gonna give somebody a gift,
and they showed up and gave her five thousand dollars.
(40:27):
If you missed the interview with Miss Terita Jackson, you

up in here.
Speaker 2 (42:02):
You.
Speaker 1 (42:02):
They're checking your picture out on on our ten seventy
w D I a page.
Speaker 3 (42:07):
Yeah, well we'll all look at it. I just say,
thank you very much, how about that?
Speaker 1 (42:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (42:13):
Yeah, yeah, But I'm still a little.
Speaker 3 (42:16):
Bit seat sick over here due to the fact that
I'm not still on the boatmas or whatever.
Speaker 1 (42:22):
But it take you a minute when it does, it
take you a minute to kind of get back to
yourself after you come back to the home.
Speaker 3 (42:30):
Yes, because I could have stayed down the staying on
that boat for by the month.
Speaker 5 (42:39):
And then so I'll tell you what what saw from.
Speaker 3 (42:42):
The blow a little bit is when it got a
chance to go to BlackBerry and Molasses Sunday night, and
thanks to the management and step of the facility, everything
was great. Uh, the comedians was good. It was great
to find and get a chance to meet miss Lady
p then.
Speaker 1 (43:05):
And she said, let me tell you what she said. Now,
let me tell you what she said. Lady P said,
she and Melvin told me they were there for that
first one, I mean the last one. Rather, they were
both there, but they left early like some people did.
And I kid you not, I thought I saw her.
I think that was her.
Speaker 3 (43:25):
Well that's and I probably saw it to we just
leave it at that.
Speaker 5 (43:29):
Then. Also when it comes.
Speaker 3 (43:30):
To her man Melvin, I knew him a while back.
I used to you know, when I go to the
police auts and he was up there. And he's a
good guy, you know, very quiet, but he's he's serious.
When it comes to being on the cars. You don't
show any emotions, just not his head on every bed.
(43:52):
But but you know, like I said, Sunday Night was great.
Comedians was good. Also the food is good. Also ask
your questions. So they open during the week selling food.
Speaker 7 (44:05):
Cr I don't know.
Speaker 1 (44:05):
I ain't gonna lie to you.
Speaker 5 (44:07):
I don't know, okay, okay.
Speaker 3 (44:10):
Well, and then when it comes to uh, missus Clyde,
you need your brainwashed out with soap because it's completely
filled there in the gun, raw dog. It makes no
sense to be that freaky in all that old filed
and mess because I look at it like, this is
(44:33):
something that should be shown on TV, especially when it's
doing awards that's inappropriate. And what j Lo did and
my book is totally inappropriate. I'm not uh, I'm not
in support of none of that madness. Then also how
to think in terms of Hollywood is full of freaky
(44:53):
in perverted people and it's just really a mess when
you really look at it.
Speaker 5 (44:58):
Should have never been shown.
Speaker 3 (45:00):
I'm on TV and that's just my opinion. And remember, folks,
the place to be is.
Speaker 7 (45:06):
With Stormy Tea the experience ten second, d w D I,
thank you very very.
Speaker 1 (45:14):
Much, Thank you very much.

your body don't synchronize who you're talking about again? Literally
(45:48):
no written you know they but they got up for
d U I and then the influenced over the weekend.
Speaker 1 (45:54):
Oh okay, the gymnast yeah mm hmm, the former gymnast, right.
Speaker 6 (46:00):
They mean, yeah, they shouldn't do it like they talk
about it like that. I mean, that's that was really bad.
That woman went through some things.
Speaker 4 (46:07):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (46:14):
And you know Sam has this uh go back.
Speaker 1 (46:19):

Speaker 6 (46:20):
So many football players and stuff has them can walk
mmm mm hmmm yeah.
Speaker 2 (46:27):
And one more thing and I'm gonna get off.
Speaker 9 (46:29):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (46:31):
I went to POMPEII, and if I wish it was
some way people could look.
Speaker 11 (46:35):
At some of the stuff that we're doing now they.
Speaker 3 (46:40):
Did back then.
Speaker 6 (46:42):
Dress women, kissing.
Speaker 13 (46:44):
Women, women with men, all that stuff.
Speaker 6 (46:47):
It's it's some of them fresh coals that they got.
Speaker 11 (46:50):
On the wall there.
Speaker 6 (46:52):
That's been going on for centuries.
Speaker 1 (46:59):
Well all right, mister Luther, right, thank you, thank you
for calling and sharing that.
Speaker 4 (47:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (47:05):
Man, let me go through their emails here. Mister Gaines
says Clyde, good afternoon, Stormy. I saw the pictures. I
agree with Clyde one hundred percent. That is all.
Speaker 6 (47:13):
Ah.
Speaker 1 (47:15):
Let's see storming. AJ had me cried in my seat.
He sounded almost like Marcus, No, you don't, no, I don't. Don't.
Don't give him a big head. Don't give it. Don't
give AJ the big head. Let's see. He was funny though.
Let's see, mister Glenn says, Gasoline woman. Why are there
so many angry black women who can't control their anger?
(47:37):
I've seen many videos of black women absolutely out of control.
Nothing or no one can calm them down. Black ladies,
please just pump the brakes and think about your children
when you get angry. That's what he said. His words,
not mine. I ain't said.
Speaker 5 (47:52):
Do not say it.
Speaker 1 (47:53):
Okay, let's see you. Let to go to this app Hey, Stormy,
how you doing.
Speaker 16 (47:58):
I'm come, it's com I want to say happy birth
day two my cousins Melanie Andrea and twins Courtney and Whitney.
Speaker 1 (48:10):
A happy birthday too to you all right now, miss Kosher,
hey baby, Okay, I was gonna join her, but she
did another rendition. I didn't know that rendition right there.
I'll be trying to keep up with the latest and greatest.
But it's Kosher. You had me on that one. Yeah,
(48:31):
sound good too, sounds real good. Happened Taco Tuesday to
you too, Jackson. It's Taco Tuesday. You just took it
a little bit too far.
Speaker 5 (48:41):
Mine.
Speaker 1 (48:41):
What's going on?
Speaker 13 (48:42):
Hey, Jackson?
Speaker 1 (48:43):
Where you being friends? You've been you've been gone, You've
been on vacation.
Speaker 5 (48:47):
I just told you I just got back from Mexico.
Speaker 1 (48:51):
What you mean he let you in Mexico. I mean
you mean you went to Mexico.
Speaker 5 (48:58):
I didn't.
Speaker 7 (48:59):
I didn't Teloom or whatever. Mexico the closest closer South America.
Speaker 1 (49:05):
Okay, okay, And I was I was.
Speaker 5 (49:08):
Getting on that airplane. I was petrified.
Speaker 7 (49:10):
I've blown several times, like a hundred times, but it's
something about that airplane.
Speaker 5 (49:16):
Now I'm terrified.
Speaker 7 (49:19):
So we had to go to Atlanta first and then
to Tallom. I had to go down in there to
singing the wedding.
Speaker 5 (49:26):
And it was good. They had.
Speaker 13 (49:28):
They had a wedding on the on the banks of
the Caribbean Sea.
Speaker 1 (49:33):
Wait a minute, Wait a minute, Wait a minute.
Speaker 18 (49:38):
You mean somebody paid you. Somebody paid you to come
on the way to Mexico singing.
Speaker 1 (49:48):
They win. What you gotta like that, Jack.
Speaker 7 (49:53):
Well, I'll sing it. I'll sing at several weddings. But
I didn't uh get paid for this line. It was
all inclusive.
Speaker 1 (50:01):
You had to pay them to let you do it. No, no,
I'm just messing with Jackson.
Speaker 11 (50:10):
No.
Speaker 13 (50:11):
I wasn't the headliner, but you know, just you know.
But anyway, it was it was nice. It was hot.
Speaker 7 (50:17):
It was hot, as you know, about one hundred and
four degrees what I thought, Yeah, about a hundred four degrees.
Speaker 5 (50:24):
When you walk out.
Speaker 7 (50:25):
You start sweating. But the thing I liked about the
friendly people. You know, when I got back to Atlanta,
I knew I was in the States, you know, attitude
and uh, looks like they didn't want.
Speaker 13 (50:39):
To be there.
Speaker 7 (50:40):
But when I was in Mexico, yes, sir, could I
help you?
Speaker 5 (50:44):
Can I help you? Please? Thank you.
Speaker 7 (50:48):
They treat the tourists like the kings and queens. But
when you get to the States, the tourists are like,
what do you want? Yeah, it was just amazing. Uh
can I can I talk about the Travis Hunter situation.
Speaker 1 (51:08):
Travis Hunter him getting married?
Speaker 6 (51:12):
Yeah, because I was, I was.
Speaker 5 (51:13):
I was tardy for your should today.
Speaker 13 (51:16):
I just got in, So I don't know what you're
talking about.
Speaker 1 (51:19):
Oh yeah, I get yeah, I'm I'm I'm a legislated
go ahead.
Speaker 13 (51:24):
I mean I just got back. Uh.
Speaker 6 (51:27):
Uh you think, uh, somebody's not talking to him.
Speaker 5 (51:33):
Do you think he's he's being set up.
Speaker 1 (51:36):
I don't think that Travis Hunter is being set up.
I think that Travis Hunter has a mind of his own.
I do think that he is listening in some aspects.
But when you're young and in love, you know what
I'm saying, When you're in love, what do they say
about love?
Speaker 5 (51:55):
What man? What man wants to get married?
Speaker 1 (52:00):
But what are they But what do they say about love? Jackson?
What do they say about love? It's blind? It's blind.
Speaker 4 (52:08):
But I'm sure he was getting you know, the cookies
and everything. So what's the purpose of him getting married?
No prenup either, Yeah, no pre nup. And she did
look us muself. She looked what what she's expecting?
Speaker 5 (52:27):
It looks looked that way.
Speaker 1 (52:28):
But I can't let me go back. I ain't see that.
Let me go back. You got them legalized.
Speaker 5 (52:36):
I ain't see all that.
Speaker 1 (52:37):
I just saw a girl in a dress. Yeah, man,
go ahead, go ahead, Jackson?
Speaker 13 (52:42):
No, you you know.
Speaker 7 (52:43):
But but why can't black women uh fish for surprise
and get the prize like that? Is it because of
the attitudes and the most black women don't uh.
Speaker 13 (53:00):
Stand how to uh compromise.
Speaker 6 (53:04):
Or or just is that the reason?
Speaker 1 (53:09):
M sounds like you're trying to try sound like you're
trying to throw shade.
Speaker 5 (53:16):
I'm not trying to shade.
Speaker 7 (53:18):
But but most most black women not going. I'll just
say that, not going.
Speaker 5 (53:22):
Not gonna stand for anything.
Speaker 7 (53:24):
But the other races will take a whole lot of
mess until they get that prize and then they why.
Speaker 1 (53:33):
Do we Okay, okay, okay, now you just spoke a word.
The other races will do it and then they get
rid of them. Okay, We're not like that. I'm not
gonna in there.
Speaker 7 (53:49):
Kobe Bryant's wife, God rest his soul. She hadn't worked
a day in her life. But uh, I'm just wondering
about Travis Hunt. Does anybody talking.
Speaker 1 (54:03):
To him Travis? Yeah, I think I'm sure. What's his
name's Chador's dad. Sure, Dion is talking to him because
because he, you know, is like a father to him,
and they still hang out. But I'm trying to tell you, young,
he's young, Okay, he he he gonna be Okay, let's
(54:28):
just hope that this is, you know, the good thing
and best thing for him.
Speaker 5 (54:34):
No man wants to get married, well until he's later
on in life.
Speaker 1 (54:40):
Well that man is married, and he is a man,
and he is married.
Speaker 5 (54:45):
Yeah, so I don't been in the states.
Speaker 1 (54:50):
Thinks have been great, thinks have been great things are Okay, Jackson, I.
Speaker 12 (54:56):
Gotta go bye bye.
Speaker 5 (54:59):
Wait I get the last word. Okay, go for it.
Shout uh.
Speaker 1 (55:10):
Bye Jackson. Oh my goodness, whole system is Wednesday. Yeah,
a whole day off my life. Let me see who
this is on this talkback feature here, Hey, Stormy, hold
to know.
Speaker 9 (55:25):
Yes, BlackBerry molasses if they haven't changed, they open from
eleven to seven.
Speaker 1 (55:33):
All right, thank you, Lady D. Appreciate you checking in.
Speaker 11 (55:37):
W D.
Speaker 4 (55:37):
I A hello.
Speaker 12 (55:39):
I am the most erudite mind, breath thinker and little
coof First, you know Jackson, haven't let that. You know,
they have all these constituents, you know, millions sayings. Neither
one of them had started to go fund me account.
Speaker 6 (55:56):
You know, Lindy what Neither one of them has started
to go fund here.
Speaker 12 (56:02):
Account with these millions of fans that they had looked
at it. Definitely need to start a go fund mere
account and get him out there alone.
Speaker 1 (56:11):
Leave him alone. He ain't messing with nobody. He ain't
messing with nobody, right now, leave them alone.
Speaker 5 (56:17):
Get out that house at the house.
Speaker 12 (56:19):
We'll let me that one room room in house. Let
me say this, A uh sort I looked at the
photo pictures of the wedding a hunt yesterday. A beautiful wedding,
beautiful gift gave to his wife. I give him my blessing.
Speaker 13 (56:35):
You know.
Speaker 6 (56:35):
See, this is the probt we have in the black community.
Speaker 5 (56:37):
That's part we have in the black community here.
Speaker 12 (56:40):
You know, here's something, here's something beautiful that happened, and
we've been a lot of negativity about it. You know,
when I was growing up back in the late u
seventies and so forth, if a young man met a woman,
you know, got engaged in whatever or of that woman. Uh,
especially if she got pregnant, you know, before marriage. I
(57:00):
don't know if it's the case. I'm not saying that,
but they were encouraged the two to get married.
Speaker 6 (57:07):
And this is what supposed to happen.
Speaker 12 (57:10):
And he supposed to get married. You know, he don't
supposed to be checking for the next five years.
Speaker 6 (57:15):
Why, you know, under his contract. You know, this is
the very reason.
Speaker 12 (57:20):
Why the illegitimacy rate in the black community is seventy percent.
Back in twenty ten, it was seventy two percent because
because Jackson said, we're not brought that up. Because Jackson
said men shouldn't get married. But what should they do, Jackson,
(57:40):
commit sexual immorality the rest of their life until they
get old and and they ain't gonna be work for
quarter then and see I ain't gonna be able to
help them or viatro, you know. So the truth of
the matter is we need to encourage these young men,
especially the ones coming out of you know, stuff with those,
(58:01):
to settle down, start.
Speaker 6 (58:03):
A family as early as you can't.
Speaker 12 (58:05):
Don't wait till you thirty and thirty five trying to
start a family, and then you know you're not going
to enjoy, you know, the wife of your youth. You know,
I'm just disappointed that Jackson think that young man shouldn't
get a man shouldn't get married. The Bibles that therefore
(58:25):
a man should leave his work, father and mother, and
you should do what clean to his wife, and they
should be what won the fledgh what Jackson wanted them
to do? Stay home? Did they get twenty six twenty eight?
Speaker 6 (58:39):
Want the young ladies to stay home till.
Speaker 12 (58:41):
They get twenty seven twenty five? Young girls twenty two
or twenty three, twenty four, twenty five? Y'all want them
to stay home till they get twenty eight.
Speaker 1 (58:48):
And thirty then get married.
Speaker 12 (58:50):
No, they'll be helping you pay the rent and the
bills if they have investigate. But I'm just saying, he
don't need no outside interference. He don't need no counseling
from the black community. He just need to enjoy his
honeymoon with his wife.
Speaker 5 (59:10):
Enjoy her.
Speaker 12 (59:11):
She's a beautiful woman. She ain't no gold digger. I
heard folks on social media ting about, Oh, she's a
gold She ain't no gold digger.
Speaker 1 (59:19):
How you no Black conservative?
Speaker 12 (59:21):
Because she's not a gold digger. He'd been with that
young girl for a long time.
Speaker 1 (59:26):
Yeah, they don't got a long time. But I'm just saying,
how you.
Speaker 12 (59:28):
Know, because she's not. Ain't no evidence to support that
she's a gold dinner.
Speaker 1 (59:34):
I got, I got, I got, you know.
Speaker 12 (59:36):
But let me say one more thing, Dan, I'm gonna
go about a lady said something about the crime here
in Memphis.
Speaker 9 (59:42):
Uh.
Speaker 12 (59:43):
I remember when Willis and Harriton stated about the crime.
He said crime, you know, uh, in the black community,
it's a black problem. It's a black problem. It's it's indeed,
it impacts the very fabric of the black community. And
and he encouraged that we engage in some kind of
(01:00:03):
community you know, meeting or something like that, and we
had the black community had to deal with crime.
Speaker 1 (01:00:10):
I got your Black conservative, I I got you. Okay, yeah,
let me see somebody somebody posted this on social media.
Just thinking out loud. Do you think the rapid decline
of marriage in our community amongst millennials is largely due
to the mass exodus from organized religion? Hmmm? Just taking
(01:00:36):
a quick look at the majority of my Black peers
that are married, the majority of them were invested in
the church to some extent, i e. They grew up
going to church regularly and may have been uh, may
have even remained active up into adulthood. The ones I
know didn't are either single and co parenting or they're
(01:00:59):
in an extremely long term relationship. Huh. That's interesting. And
then they say the caveat to this is non African
Blacks who appear to look at marriage as an important
life goal and often get married early and usually between
before children. So I believe cultural values influence this, Akin
(01:01:23):
to Black Americans from the Southern US. Again, both of
these groups cornerstone of religion culturally. Hmm. I didn't know
there was a decline in the millennials in marriage right now.
I don't know, y'all tell me about just what Jackson
saying Black conservatives said made me think about is there
(01:01:45):
a decline? Because and then what Jackson was talking about
with women blackmen, there are a lot of black women
who are married, hello, and are getting married. Travis Hunter
isn't the only black man in the world. There's a
whole lot of other brothers. So how do you just
because you see Travis Hunter and his relationship. You can't
(01:02:09):
judge every black woman based off that, it's my opinion,
including the black woman who you know put the gasoline
in the car. You can't judge every woman based off
that if that see see now, we try our best
not to judge y'all based off what y'all do. So
if y'all don't want us judging y'all based off what
(01:02:30):
you do, you might wan't think about that, you know
what I'm saying, because we do our best because you know,
what's what's going on on one side could be going
on on the other side, and maybe even worse. But
there are black women that are getting married. So black women,
don't let them discourage you. You better go get your man,
(01:02:53):
And we're not all like everybody else. Y'all stop putting
us in a category. We are not all alike and
why are we? And there are some women that happen
to be black that are angry, but there are also
some women that happen to be white that are angry,
that happened to be Indian that are angry, that happened
(01:03:13):
to be uh uh, you know other races that are angry.
So you know, how do we get that on us?
Dang what what that angry black woman come from? I mean,
really that can comment? Really got a got bad. When
Michelle Obama and Barack Obama in the White House, there
is something good happening with them. And I mentioned it
(01:03:35):
a little bit in the t but I'm gonna let
you hear a little bit of it on the way.

It's called forty four Obama the Musical. You know it
(01:04:24):
makes me wonder too. That's from Obama the Musical. So
(01:04:52):
it's gone viral. There's a clip that's gone viral on
social media. White House Love is what they were singing.
I don't know. I don't know if this has been
sanctioned by the Obamas. I don't know. But at any rate,
that's a new musical. And I doubt that Tyler Peerr
(01:05:13):
has got anything to do with that.
Speaker 16 (01:05:16):
I doubt it.
Speaker 1 (01:05:16):
I don't think that's Tyler Peer. I don't think he
got nothing.
Speaker 5 (01:05:19):
To do with that.
Speaker 1 (01:05:19):
Your classic TV throwback is coming up, too, so I
got that on the way stick around. I'm going to
our ten to seventy w DIA page. Missanita says some
blacks just choose to want to be in another race
when they get a good paying job. You think so, Missanita,
(01:05:40):
I guess she's right, because that does happen.
Speaker 5 (01:05:43):
It happens.
Speaker 1 (01:05:44):

if y'all saw this or if you know the artist Jahim.
I think we played some of his songs and Prince
Charles would be so upset if he heard this. But Jahim,
six animal cruelty counts. He turned forty seven today, Well, no,
it was yesterday. He turned forty seven yesterday and he
(01:08:20):
was arrested on yesterday. Six new animal cruelty counts for
Johimm
