Well, it's a Monday, a big weekend around here. I
was invited to a party, well kind of, I kind
of invited myself, but but I guess nevertheless, I was invited.
Shout out to Alice Marie Johnson who had her big
birthday party in Memphis this past Friday night. I saw
smackers in the builds and yeah, I saw the Chris Lies.

The just pardon Chris Lees were there. Jay Prince was there,
and I want to say he might have hosted it.
But I did get a chance to talk to miss
Alice last weekend. Tried to get her to talk to
me on the show, and but she had a busy
schedule and she basically flew in for that for her

birthday party and flew right out. She did tell me
I could come, but I had, you know, other plans
on Friday night. But I would have I would have
slid through that and slid on out, you know what
I'm saying. But she looked amazing. I saw the some
of the video on social media. Yeah, and again, thank you,
miss Alice Marie Johnson. The Pardons are Yeah, you know,

she's about straight out of Memphis. Just in case y'all
didn't know, yeah, straight out of Memphis. Yeah, you know,
I saw something on ACTRA News five. They were talking
about Shelby County is getting ready to invest one hundred
and eighty thousand dollars in local camp programs just before

the summer begins, the season begins. And I think this
is amazing. Eighteen camps will each get ten thousand dollars
to provide free camp services to Shelby County youth. Now
I love this. I love this, and it did make
me wonder one hundred eighty thousand dollars. Is this something
we've been doing for the kids or is this something new?

Because yeah, because I don't know how old they were
when they were riding down the street with them folks
vanity setting. You know what I'm saying, y'all see them
on TV, those two guys that were driving riding down
the street with the vanity set. And let me see,

this was the twenty seventh on will Edge Street. A
report say the house was being renovated, and so they
went over there and got the vanity with a faucet
and a countertop, riding down the street on bicycles. And
I guess they didn't think that nobody was gonna see them,
but you but you was seeing. So anyway, if you
know something, yeah, I'll know what to do. Nine on one,

cash Man. These these young folks and they they look
like they might be young. I don't know how young.
But we got to give them something to do. Got
to give them some to do, man, this summer, and
hopefully parents will take advantage of all of that. Yeah,
a lot of stuff happened over the weekend.

That that car accident that happened on in North Hollywood,
that was a terrible one. I saw where Tanya Kennedy.
Let me send our thoughts and condolences and prayers out
to her and her family. Barry and Scott were the
two or three victims. Word is that she was an

employee at Youth Villages. So they said it started with
it were like five vehicles. One vehicle hit the back
of another vehicle. That vehicle hit the back of another vehicle.
That vehicle hit the back of another vehicle, and then
the other and on and they were one of those

vehicles that got hit. The only you know, terrible thing
about their car getting hit was it caught fire. Yeah,
So youth villagers spoke out and they said they were
deeply sattened by the news of the passing of Miss
Tanya Kennedy along with her two sons, Barrion Scott and

yesterday's horrific car. Yeah, and then we saw where JB.
Smiley's nephew, I believe he said it was his nephew
that was found. They were searching for the for them
all weekend, that he is Smiley and they finally found
his body. So a lot of tragic stuff happening, y'all.

So sending some love, definitely and some prayers out for
those families for sure. Yeah, man, and yeah, I really
didn't want to talk about it, but I'm thinking about it.
Made me think about the whole situation with Brian McKnight,
especially today after hearing reports that and I don't know
if this is true, but there are reports saying that
Brian did not reach out to his son Nico before

he passed away, and it made me think there are
some family members that are so upset with each other
that they don't talk. And you know, I guess the
thing about Brian McKnight is we a lot of people
know who he is, Okay, so of course if something

goes on with him. It's going to be public knowledge.
But what about the people that this happens to every day?
You know what I'm saying, there are people that do
not speak to their relatives, and I'm just curious those
of you that are out there listening. If you got
into an argument with a family member. Let's say you're

a close family member, your mother, your children, your father,
could you not have a relationship? I mean, could you just,
cold turkey not talk to your relatives because I couldn't
do it. I can do it, but could you cold

turkey just not have any conversation with your relatives maybe
ever again? And I know people that are going they're
literally in situations like that where they do not talk
to their parents. I couldn't do it. I couldn't. I couldn't.
I couldn't do it. I couldn't let my relationship get

that bad with my my siblings or my children where
I can't much as I talk. I'm gonna have to
talk to them kids. You know what I'm saying. I
don't have to have a conversation. I couldn't do it.
But I know people that do, and I just I
don't understand, and maybe some people won't want to admit
that they do it, but I I just you know
I And let me tell you, my heart goes out

to people that go through that where you are so
upset with your with your mother that you can't or
your father that you can't speak to them, or somebody
who's so upset with their children that they can't talk
to them. You know what I'm saying. My heart goes
out to you because I just, Yeah, people fall out,

you know what I'm saying. People fall out? You know,
you fall out, you have an argument with your kids,
you have an argument with somebody, But to never doctor,
never never uh uh m hm. I got what was
going on, baby, I got to be in them folks
lives you and me. I'm not no, sir, can't do it,
wouldn't be able to do it. But I do know,
like I said, people that are you know, dealing with

situations like that. M hmmm. Heart goes out to you,
It really does. My heart goes out to you, and
I hate you going through something like that. I really do.
Mmmm mmm. So so, so I got a question. It's
a Monday, and you know, people be asking questions and

I saw this guy post this on social media and
I just could not believe it. But uh, and I
really don't like to talk about what goes on because
it reminded me. This story reminded me of the story
that I saw on the news. And I don't know
how old this story is, but it was on ABC.

So be a member and good standing and have the right,
so adults ought to contribute the minimum amount of fifty

It was from the church saying she was delinquent in
her financial support.

made me think about that, that story. But this guy
posted this on social media, and I'm gonna read it

two years ago when we received a letter in the

mail asking us to provide our tax info way these churches.
I ain't never been doing trying, I tell you, he says,
every sermon the preacher would talk about a fruitful giver.
What it did for me is when he made a joke.
What did it for him when he made a joke

When he got his new Mercedes, he said, my tithes
should be increasing. That didn't sit well with me. And
he says that didn't sit well with me. I'm trying
to get back to it. Okay, there we go. That's
been two years ago. My wife still goes and tithes.
We had an issue not too long ago. Her car

note was due and she asked me to borrow four
hundred dollars. I didn't want to give it to her
because the week before she paid her ties four hundred
dollars exactly. I told her to get it from the church.
I was going to give it to her, but I
told her the week before to pay her car note.
What upset me was she didn't listen, and everything I

told her happened. How can I lead, provide and protect
when she won't listen. The next week she got paid
and she paid it, But at the time I was
upset so face, he said Facebook because he posted this
on Facebook. Was I wrong for not paying her car note?

And he said he can take the criticism. What do

told him just pray for him. But I don't know
what she did them. I don't know what I did
to mind. But you know, I, if I did anything,
asked God to forgive me. He ain't changed his number,

and I asked him for forgiveness and everything, but it
still ain't nothing work. But it's the only thing I
do is just pray for him. Let go, Let God

something that's debatable for me. If it's my money, I'm

you better go get you some counseling because if I'm

Cooky, why the City of Memphis is in a buying
right now because we ain't tithing A Hey, I don't know,

it's a point Mayor Paul Young made to the Memphis
City Council when he presented the budget for the fiscal

I'm gonna tell you if if if we get sued
by Tyree Nichols family, he'll be broke. So Mayor Young
presented a budget with no property tax increase because weren't

we sweating about that? And no increase in salaries for
city employees. This includes unions like the Memphis Police Association. Okay, uh,
the city has debt to pay off, leaving no room
for the unions to get raises. The police union acts

four five percent rais, and the city Council showed support
passing the items after impass hearings. But yeah, mm hmmm.
Tax increased last year, don't look like no tax increase
this year. But rough we stretched then you can't squeeze

blood from a turner. And I don't know. I'd like
to look at the I do wonder if so when
it comes to the budget for the City of Memphis,
is that something we all can see? Does anybody know?
Because I'd like to see where is this money going?
