things that's happening around here. First off, did you see
where Memphis may be adding license plate readers to the interstate.
Have y'all seen that Memphis City Council committee they voted
on today to support adding a license plate reader on
the interstate. But here's my question. If you do have one,

what is it? I mean, what do you do with
the information?

Chief Davis said that the cameras will be placed in
certain areas where there are high is high traffic to
help track robberies, carjacking, and potential active shooter. Oh okay,
So it's not gonna give us a ticket or nothing
like that, because that's what I was wanting. We are
we're gonna be getting a ticket, because if I'm going
a little fast trying to get to a meeting, I

just want to know if I'm I'm gonna be Okay,
not just kidding, but seriously, I guess that is something
that's needed. I thought they had that kind of technology already.
But hey, hey, hey, let me tell you something. No
matter where you go in this world, somebody's watching you.

So last night, honey, Shelby kuint of commissioned baby, they
had how.

Long was that meeting? They said that meeting was what
ten hours?

Eight hours last night over the budget and I don't know,
I'm a little disappointed. I heard that they were trying
to do a four cent tax increase.

To help the citizens of Memphis.

And it was voted down every This is what I heard.
Now if I'm wrong, y'all, y'all, y'all help me fix it.
But every white commissioner voted no, and two other black
commissioners voted with them. Four cent to help black people

in our communities and the Shelby County Commission voted it
down last night. Yeah, so I don't know, I don't,
I don't, I don't know what that's about. But I'm
gonna tell you that I'm still trying to dig off
into it to find out if that is true. They
said there was two black commissioners that voted with them

to not give us that four cent for people in
our communities to help, you know, help people out.

The money, money that is so needed. They voted it down,
voted it down.

There was discussion for a raised tax rate of two
point seven two dollars and seventy three cent to generate
additional funds until they settled on two dollars in sixty
nine cent. The vote past twelve to one, with Commissioner
Charlie Haswell voting nay, and that vote came at the
tail end of the eight hours, eight hours, eight hours

last night. So they were really kind of yeah, let
me let me this this a little bit of what happened.

So I am in support of this because it's an
opportunity to You've heard here today several people to come
up and talk about issues that are plaguing our communities.
I think about food deserts that are happening across the
communities in Shelby County.

Regarding the city areas, I think about everyone's mentioned it
several times a day. Opportunity youth related organizations need to
be supported. I think about health related opportunities that we
need to support, mental and physical health issues.

They need to be supported.

So for me, it's an opportunity for us to truly
invest in community and its forces.

Forcent for sent was all it was for sent and
they voted it down. You are she told you what
it was for. That's some good stuff that's needed stuff.
They voted it down. Yeah, tell me what you think
about that. You tell me what you think about those
license plate readers too. I'm here for it.

I always think what they do with the money they're getting,
And how in the world did mattter get in such
a bad shape that they need I don't know. I
know it's needed. Those are services that are needed in

give given some of that four cent to help matter out.
But I mean, I don't know if Matt is going
to get any money from the Shelby County Commission. But
wool Child, those are our tax dollars too, by the way,

of Bibbs just mentioned would have gone and they voted it.

They voted no. So a lot of people in the
city are upset about that.

I'm just wondering if you know about it, if you
know feel some type of way. I don't know if
you do or not, but just you know, wondering how
you feel about it, how you feel, do you feel well?

I wanted to share it. With you.

It's a question for today. I have a secret I
never told anybody. The reason I'm writing is that I
don't want anybody to know who I am. When I
was twelve, my mom made me lie about my uncle.
I had to tell the police that he touched me.

He served ten years in jail before he took his
own life. That was twenty years ago. It still hurts
because he never touched me. My granny was sick at
the time, and by him being in jail. When my
granny died, my mom got everything, well over six hundred
thousand dollars in cash, her house and three other properties.

At the time, I didn't understand, but once I got older,
I understood why she did it. The crazy part is
that I confronted her about the entire situation and she
told me that it's done now and no one can
do anything about it. The very next day, she had
a heart attack and died. I believe in karma, and

I hate to say that my mom got hers when
I confronted her. When I brought it up, she got
very upset and put out put me out of her house.
It was the last time I saw her alive. I
don't know deep down inside. I hated.

drive out tags. So how will the license plate readers
come back to crime? The city will only have pictures
of law abiding citizens tags.

New York. People rely heavily on public transportation in those areas.
