happiness Happens Day. Ah, Happiness Happens Day. That's today. How
(01:18):
do you make happiness happen? This is interesting. It was
founded in nineteen ninety nine by the Secret Society. Uh
uh uh uh uh uh. We ain't talking about no
secret societies around here. We ain't doing it. We get
our own happiness.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
I ain't.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
I got to join the Lord. I don't need that
secret society gone somewhere with all of that ness. I'm sorry.
I'm the one brought it to you. All right. I
make mistakes you. I'm not perfect. I am not kind
of like that drive did y'all see Fox thirteen. Y'all

Speaker 5 (01:56):
Late it?
Speaker 1 (01:57):
He was on the bike. She was trying to hit him,
and then she police. She said, no, I was kidnapped.
It with somebody else driving the girl. We heard you anyway.
She finally admitted it was her. See now, okay, so
the guy said, he said, well, I got her tags,
but I just want to know who is she? Who
(02:20):
is she to you? Have y'all been dating? Is that
why she was gonna run you down? What in the world, ladies,
Ladies calmed down? These men ain't worth it. These men
ain't loyal. Somebody sung a song he's man ain't loyal. Okay, okay, okay,
(02:46):
all right, I'll get myself together up in there. But
day some of them not. You know, it's a lot
of good men out there, but I'm gonna tell you something,
they ain't worth If if you he own a bike, Sis, young, sis,
he's riding a bike, he gotta get a ride from you.
You're the one winning. You're the winner, don't you know you?
(03:07):

We need to teach some classes to these kids. Married.
If you ready, you in, let's go. Let's go. Let's
go teach these kids in class. Because this sister, she's
lit this serious. This is on Fox thirteen. She's about
to run him down. She almost ran into a house.
Folks on the inside of the house were like, what
in the world is going on out here? She hit
(03:38):
them folks, shrubs. She got to pay for that. You
can't run up in my garden, in my in my
what do you call those It is a garden. It's
the y'all know what I'm trying to say. You know,
in the front of your house, you had them gardens
right up in there flower bed. Yeah, you can't run
(03:58):
up in my flower bed like that, take off hit
my good tree in the front yard. M you're gonna
have to pay for that, cause when was the last
time y'all been to home depot to check on flowers?
They are not cheap. Imagine somebody you're at home, you're
mining your business, you ain't bother nobody, and somebody run
(04:20):
up in your yard all over your good flower garden.
You just worked on it the other day. Don't nobody
work on a flower garden like people that love to
plant flowers and work on their flower garden. She doesn't
run up in it. What I'm gonna tell you the
problem Now, I'll tell you the problem fellas. Sometimes y'all
(04:46):
be putting it on us. Y'all know when y'all got
y'all know what they know. The ones that's got that
good good they know. But if you can't do it,
you got the hold back, hold back, I'll be doing
(05:06):
too much, doing too much, ladies. If you got that
what it was, sunshine, what is it? What is the
girl in the movie. If you got that, then hold
back who Meredith, come on, girl, let's teach his class.
As a matter of fact, Meredith text me, uh, don't
(05:27):
text me. She she tapped that app yesterday when I
was getting off the show. Yesterday, y'all was whoa wait,
I was on one. So Lady P called and and
she had a message from Meredith, and and and and
little Daddy and and Lady T and so I'm gonna
(05:47):
tell you what happened. Meredith called and she had a
few things to say, and then Meredith tapped that app.
I played it yesterday because I don't know. I told y'all,
y'all don't leave it at because y'all be leaving, because
y'all think four to six, I'm done talking. But sometimes
in that six o'clock hour, I'll let y'all call and talk.
(06:08):
Y'all need to keep the radio on longer, okay. And
so Meredith chapped in and I played her yesterday before
I got off. I'm gonna play it again. It's someone
that you here with. Meredith called in and said on yesterday,
and somebody emailed me too. Somebody emailed me last night
before I got up out of at Brandy. Hey girl,
(06:29):
she said, yes, play it tomorrow. I heard about it.
I was like, goodness, okay, this is what Meredith said.
Now y'all listen close. Bring your it close to the radio. Ah,
like they be saying, bring your it close to the radio.
List it this.
Speaker 7 (06:46):
Stormy. I forgot to add this, Lady p if we
ever did get in the ring, I'm not gonna say
you can't win a fight, but it can't be just you.
You're gonna have to have a couple of friends or
sister somebody to help you.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Never just you. Mm hm. Basically, she's saying, if if
I get in a fight with a bell, help the bell.
That's what Meredith is saying. I would pay. I'm not
kidding you. I would pay to set. I would pay
(07:18):
the sent I would okay, okay. I don't want to
be starting no more drama in the church like Lady
pd yesterday. But Lady Pitt's on you. It's back in
your court now. Meredith said what she said, So now
it's back on you. J'll see the story the guy
(07:43):
who he started the Trump Burger, the owner in Texas.
I've been seeing this story all over the place. He's
fighting to avoid deportation. Oh my goodness, Rolling Bennie twenty
(08:04):
eight elevenies immigrant. He opened several restaurants in Houston area
styled around President Donald Trump. And I wonder if he
thought opening of those restaurants was gonna keep him.
Speaker 8 (08:15):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Ain't nobody safe? Mm hmmm. So uh he, according to
the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Beannie, overstayed his visa
and it's now in the middle of deportation proceedings that
what are you gonna do with the restaurant? What are
you gonna do with them trump Burgers? He gonna go
out of business if he can't stay over here and
and and do that restaurant. And I bet you Dinburger's
(08:39):
was nasty? Are they? Are they orange?
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Oh?
Speaker 9 (08:42):
No?
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Oh, that's the bond, that's the bond. I guess it
might have been good. I don't know. I never had
one of them. I wouldn't try to buy one of them.
If you had a trump Burger, Denver, who else? Jackson?
Who else? Might have had one of them trump Burgers? Class?
If you had one, call me tell me how them
(09:03):
trump Burgers are, if they were good or not? Because
I had a feeling they weren't all that good and
that might be. No, let me leave it alone. Let
me leave it alone. I'm leaving alone. I ain't gonna
mess with that moment. I'm done. So yeah, Will Smith
is bringing up you know what happened to him and
(09:26):
Chris Rock, and he said after that night he came
home and his little nephew was sitting in his lap,
and his little nephew had a few things to say
about you know that slap, and.
Speaker 10 (09:40):
He goes while you hit that, man, Uncle Will, I
was like, and it's like, you know, I'm gonna be crying.
Somebody got a tissue and it was I got one.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
I got one. And it was like, I say, I
knew y'all was gonna have me.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
You can't explain. You can't explain it to us. We
still don't, we still don't understand it. We will most
people really don't care. It's been so long ago. Will
just let it go.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Just let it go.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
I mean, you know, he's embarrassed by it still. And man,
I tell you, every Rock in the world, every person
in the world that's got the last name Rock came
none of them stand him, not a one. The brothers
don't like it. Don't nobody like Will Smith right about now?
The Rocks the rest of the world pretty much. I
(10:33):
love Will Smith. He didn't fall off to me. I
felt his pain, but also felt Chris Rocks. I mean,
Chris Rock had to be in pain too, So yeah,
is it fair for Will Smith to have this conversation
right now? If he was in therapy, they would tell
him let it all out, Will But I don't know
(10:54):
if they would tell him to let it all out
the way he eat. But he can. He's it is
his story too. Chris Rock could make some money off
of it, but so so can Will Smith. So hey, hey, hey,
all right, Governor Bill Lee, he's pushing to update the
state's supplementum nutrition assistance programs. Yeah, yeah, man, if he
(11:20):
gets his way, if he has his way, because I
don't know if they're gonna, if it's a done deal
or not, but it looks like okay, prepared foods people,
that's on Snap. They can purchase hot prepared chicken, including
rotisserie and non fried, non breaded items like grilled chicken tenders,
offering convenient healthy meal solutions. Process foods damn be able
(11:43):
to get them. It's excluding them, they got sugar in them,
corn syrup, high fruit tose, corn syrup, candy cakes, cookies, pies.
You're gonna be able to buy no more carbonated sweetened beverages.
Exclude eating beverages with carbonated water and sugar, high fruit toast,
(12:03):
corn syrved. Ain't gonna be getting no sodas, no more.
Speaker 11 (12:06):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
They're about to change his game. I tell you why.
The governor said that. The move he said he's it's
the move is complying with the leadership of the Health
and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy and Secretary of
Agriculture Brook Brook Rowlings of Tennessee. They aim to join
other states in the SNAP reform. They're reforming it. I
(12:28):
thought Arkansas was trying to do this too. I wonder
if they got the idea from Arkansas. I don't know,
but they trying to make some changes around here. What
do y'all think about that? And it is Friday, August
the eighth, the day that a king of radio was born,
Bobby oj and the day we talk about love. Hey,
(13:02):
all right, okay, so she is in love.
Speaker 12 (13:10):
There's this I don't want it.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
She's a love there's a cure for this. I don't
want it.
Speaker 13 (13:21):
You know what?
Speaker 1 (13:21):
They getting ready to get married all the time. They
get on and makes me smile and say, she's about
to have jump the broom, baby, congratulations to this woman.
Here's the deal though, in her deciding to do this,
(13:42):
love love you, she's stressed out because you know, she's decided, Hey,
we're gonna have this wedding. And her man said, hey,
whatever you want, you get it. Yeah, they're in love.
(14:04):
Problem ain't him? Mm hmmm. Problem is a relatives. They mad.
They're mad, because your relatives be mad when you fall
in love sometimes. I no, you know they're not mad
like that, but you know they mad. Hey, you you
never know because sometimes the biggest hater in your family
(14:26):
or the biggest hater in your life can be somebody
in your family. How many y'all agree with me, y'all
know what I'm talking about. So at any rate, she's she's, she's,
she's she's stressed out because her family members. She said,
(14:48):
you know, we're paying for the wedding. But by family members,
they wanna be, they wanna came to evall rethine. They
don't care how she gotta do it, but they want
to be invited to every red thing. She's in love
(15:12):
with her man, but she stressed her family is stressing
her out. They stressing her out. She's like, I don't
know how to deal with this? What do I do?
What do I tell them? How do you deal with
your family members that can't accept no for a good answer.
They don't want to hear it. You better figure out
a way, is what they told them. You better figure
(15:34):
it out. We don't know how you're gonna do it,
but you better figure it out. She said. I ain't
got enough money to figure it out. We ain't got
we aint we ain't. We ain't bothering like that. This
wedding is costing us three thousand dollars. That's what you said.
It's not gonna be an expensive wedding, three thousand dollars,
she said. But baby, they don't send her a list
(15:55):
of what they want to eat at her wedding, so
she tripping. How do you deal with it? How do
you deal with the family that won't take no for
answers for an answer? How do how you know? And
I wonder if Bobby oj were alive, what would he
say two to something like that. What would he say?
Y'all got some bobbiology for Hit me up some memories

It's the main world. How you do?
Speaker 1 (17:08):
What is wrong with you?
Speaker 2 (17:12):
It's freaky Friday?
Speaker 1 (17:15):
Now it might be for somebody.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Yeah, well, you know.
Speaker 14 (17:21):
If freaky means two different things. It means something in
the black community, it means something in the white community.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Did you know that freaky? What does it mean in
the white community, I don't understand.
Speaker 14 (17:33):
It means you're a strange person, you're a freaking okay.
But in the Negro community, in the in the Negro community,
it means.
Speaker 6 (17:42):
You know, ah.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 14 (17:51):
So it's all my fans and all my couldn't stituents.
On There's stormy afternoon.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
I like the way you did that. Come on. Usually
the only person that would say that would be me, Yes, yes.
Speaker 14 (18:06):
Well this is the Jackson Hour, featuring.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
The lies you tell.
Speaker 14 (18:16):
Go ahead, I'm sorry, let me get to my fondest

Speaker 14 (18:29):
Remember when I I wanted some tickets to some blues show.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
I don't remember, but okay.
Speaker 14 (18:37):
Well everybody else does. I want some tickets to a
blue show. And I got to the studio to meet
the guy who I was going to see that night
that he was performing, and I had no idea who
he was because I don't listen to southern soul music.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Whatever Jackson, I don't.
Speaker 14 (18:59):
I can't name one other soul person.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
I don't believe it.
Speaker 8 (19:03):
Go ahead, Bobby, uh.
Speaker 14 (19:07):
He said, you're a You're a biggest celebrity than the
then against I said, but thank you.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
Bobby, But then.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Bobby blew your head up, didn't it.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
But he tricked me.
Speaker 11 (19:21):
He said, we're gonna have lunch and and drinks and everything.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
But we got there. It was it was pizza.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
That's lunch, Jackson, Come on, man, that's lunch.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (19:37):
But you know, I thought I was gonna sit down formal,
you know, five course meal.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
He brought that pizza.
Speaker 8 (19:45):
We both saw lasting.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
But anyway, you know, I can't say enough how great
this guy was.
Speaker 14 (19:53):
He's you know, and he wouldn't let riff rafts come on,
come on, he wouldn't let riff raps get on the air.
Speaker 15 (20:02):
I'll just say that, you know.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
You know, he only hired the best.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
Mm hmmm.
Speaker 11 (20:09):
And you might be one of them.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
I am one of them. What are you talking about.
If it weren't for Bobby, I wouldn't meet over here.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Right right. Let me let me get to the subject.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
Of time in the world like other people ain't waiting.
Speaker 16 (20:30):
To te.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
Who else?
Speaker 14 (20:34):
I told you this to Jackson. But anyway, I don't
want I don't want Little Day to get mad. The
wedding reception. Yeah, if you have, If you have a
wedding recept, ladies, take into account what everybody else wants
to eat, because nine times out of ten, you're not
going to be eating. You're gonna be thinking about the
(20:54):
night that you're going to have with your husband. So
take it into account. But we want to eat seriously, seriously, okay, Jackson,
and don't stop that finger food stuff. Okay, next point,
there's no such thing as good D and good P.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
Did I say that cleanly?
Speaker 17 (21:19):
Lies?
Speaker 1 (21:20):
I mean, go ahead, I'm sorry.
Speaker 14 (21:23):
You know, sex, Sex is a mental thing. If she's
not really into you, got If she is not into you,
she is not going to give you the five points
of life guys.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
And vice versa.
Speaker 8 (21:38):
If if we are not into the.
Speaker 14 (21:39):
Woman, all she's going to do is get the That's
all she's gonna get, and it'd be open in five minutes.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
You be generous, aren't you mean? One? All right? Jackson
had to put that y'all bell on him. You know
what I'm saying. All right, let's go back up, let
me see somebody tap the app. Let's see what they're
talking about on today.
Speaker 2 (22:09):

you'd like to share, Do that all right? Nine on one,
five three, five, nine three four two eight hundred five
zero three ninety three four two eight three three five
three five nine three four two. Those are the numbers
to get at me. You can tap that iHeartRadio app
or email me Stormy t at my w d i
a dot com. We're gonna come back and talk some more.
(23:05):
Clyde out the Gate. You had to be one of
the people that was, you know, in the studios in
the mornings when he would come in, because I would
be here often and working early in the mornings. You know,
he would every now and then, you know, call me
to help him out, and you know, asked me to
you know, make sure that a song was here or
(23:28):
you know song was there. Y'all know some of them
songs out Your girl was putting up in now because
Bobby told me, you know, helping a few mornings he'd
call in. He'd be listening from the car or trying
to listen, and he'd know he knew every song that
was gonna play and when it was gonna play it,
so he would know if the hour was going to
(23:48):
run short before he'd get here, you know, and usually
he would fall up in here, let me see, and
sometimes you'd be a little bit before six. And you know,
it's kind of a rule in radio that when you
you know, come to your shift, that you try to
be here a little early so you can do the
thing prep and all that kind of stuff. But Bobby wasn't.
(24:10):
He was always prepped. Always he knew what he was
going to talk about, he knew how he was going
to talk about it, he knew he knew, and so
you know, he would come up in here sometimes a
little bit before six o'clock and be ready to roll.
(24:32):
You got to be good when you are in this
business to be able to walk in the door and
get on the microphone because you know a lot of
people don't know you know, you don't you criticize us,
and you can do that because you're at home. But
a lot of people don't know what goes into having
a job like this and trying to make sure that
(24:56):
you're not behind but ahead. You know, it's reading. It's
reading stories that the average person wouldn't read. While I
was off over the few days that I, you know,
traveled the world. I didn't travel really, but you know,
I went out of town anyway. When I was out,
(25:17):
I was still working. And by that I mean I'm
always looking for stories. I'm always looking at stories. I'm
always saving this or that for later, and you know
that kind of thing. So you just never know where
you're gonna draw from the people you meet. Maybe something
you draw from you know what I'm saying, And it's
(25:38):
something that I know. Bobby was doing ongoing. He was
having conversations if you talk to him, if you had
a conversation with him the evening or the afternoon that
he was getting off and leaving, which was really more
like mourning because he was get off at He wouldn't
leave all the time at ten. You know, he'd go
in his office and do working there. And he had
(26:01):
the ability to do work at home, you know, so
he would go home and do work there as well.
And you know, conversations that he would have with with
Kim or with or with Sharon. He'd have those conversations
on the air, you know, or situations that might come up.
You know he'd have though he was real good. It's
(26:23):
stirring people up, making you, captivating you so that you
couldn't help. But listen, you know, you know what I'm saying,
and that is that is an art. And people, a
lot of people don't realize how how how much of
an art it is. Sometimes you don't realize how much
(26:43):
of an art it is until you actually do it yourself.
When you are put in a in a place where
you got to do it yourself, you see it. And
you because I always thought, you know, I wanted to
do this, but then I thought, I don't know, I
don't I wouldn't know how to do that, Oh my goodness.
So it takes a lot, is basically what I'm saying.
(27:03):
And he was masterful at his craft, masterful, studied all
the time. That's the kind of man he was, you
know what I'm saying. But you know, usually when he
would get off, you know, you'd have conversations, whether you
talk about whatever, happened in the in the world today
or whatever, and you know, have a conversation with him
(27:24):
about it, and he talked about it on the on
the radio one day. We are good because he was
on the radio talking about you gotta He's on about
test driving before you buy the car. And he wasn't
talking about car. He was talking about, you know, people
and relationships, young people, what they should do. And he
came out of the studio one day and I was
(27:44):
right there where I say, you ought to be shamed.
He says, Tommy, what are you talking about? I said,
you are giving people a license to have sex before
they get married. I think he walked right in here
and had a conversation which all about it. Told y'all
what I said. I was like, bob it. Yeah, he
(28:07):
was real with it. Some people think he was, you know,
fake about all the stuff that he believed. They didn't
believe that he really believed what he but he did.
If you ever had conversations with the only reason you
don't know that he was real because you didn't talked
to him. You never had no conversations with him or
and he wasn't one of those people that was real.
Share a whole lot with people that he really didn't
(28:29):
have a whole lot to do with, you know what
I'm saying. He had conversations with listeners and stuff like that,
but he had conversations with people that he you know,
his family members of course. And I wouldn't call myself
that close to him, but we got pretty close working
with him and having a you know, every day working
with him every day for years before he left. We
(28:50):
had a lot of conversations. So yeah, coldest to do it,
real deal, holy feel as they say. Yeah, man, let
me go back to the phones.
Speaker 15 (29:02):

Speaker 20 (29:13):
On the bottom line, don't eat taking too much time?
It was Friday and that money is a good move.
Everything I touch turn to go. But I said, I
got a big house on half Cross. Me and Bibo,
Me and bab old Jay stayed like two or three
doors from each other. Me and money ain't got nothing,
I said, I ain't got no problem. Money ain't got
(29:34):
no value on it. But the bottom line, everything I
turned turned to go. But Bibo o J was the
best things in sliced bread down there, and I called, by, Si,
look I need a ticket. Each other same way you
got to try to win up. I said, by I
need a ticket. He said, well, look what I'm gonna do.
I'm gonna give you something he would give him. Now,

he said Highway and Allen and the where they went.
Speaker 20 (30:08):
They want to make sure saying what they born there
was where they were even where they went.

Speaker 20 (30:19):
The superman that's saying what they're born there, and you
look it up.
Speaker 2 (30:23):

I'm their biggest things than the slight bread. Bibo James
is the best thing happened to me. Fred Moore, J.
Speaker 20 (30:32):
Michael Davis, W. C. Brown, them guys, Them guys spoiled
me anytime I called it. They made shore wherever they were.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
They gave me tickets.
Speaker 20 (30:43):

Speaker 2 (01:03:03):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:03:03):
Well, First of all, I wanted to say happy heavingly
birthday to Bobby LJ. We missed him tremendously. I think,
truly he was one of a kind. He was a
legend who's wisdom of our life was just as powerful
as the music he played. And I think his words
(01:03:24):
to make you think, to make you smile and see
the world differently. I mean, I used always told lot
my coworkers to watch him. It's like I didn't want
to have a meeting until at least ten o'clock because
I wanted to hear what Bobby had to say.
Speaker 15 (01:03:39):
So he is truly, truly truly missed.
Speaker 4 (01:03:42):
I've lived in a few states and I have never
encountered another magnificent DJ legendary like Bobby LJ.
Speaker 15 (01:03:51):
So I definitely wanted to say that. The second thing
I wanted to say is I loved me from mister
c J.
Speaker 4 (01:03:56):
He's a smooth old mac a Lee old man, so
he can whip it out. And lastly, I want to
say this saw me. I'm a woman of a particular
age season and I agree with the men. I would
not want to marry a man, but I have not
tested Yes, I agree with the man.
Speaker 24 (01:04:18):
Because I don't know if it's put on.
Speaker 4 (01:04:20):
Why he couldn't he put all that.
Speaker 15 (01:04:22):
I want to know?
Speaker 26 (01:04:24):
Okay, he saw me.
Speaker 6 (01:04:25):
I don't want to be.
Speaker 1 (01:04:26):
Right thinking you want to test drive, you just want
to test drive.
Speaker 4 (01:04:31):
I'm gonna test drive because I want to make sure
that everything is working and their proper order. Okay, Okay, So.
Speaker 25 (01:04:41):
I definitely agree with the men.
Speaker 1 (01:04:43):
Well, I understand you know everybody, everybody don't. Everybody don't
agree with me, you know. And I didn't agree with
Bobby back when he said a long time ago and
I and.
Speaker 15 (01:04:51):
I don't I agree with Bobby. I was like that's
a long time about Bobby.
Speaker 4 (01:04:56):
I don't want anybody to see I'm a hot girl.
I'm just a woman that happens to like things just
like you guys do. I just go about it a
different way. But I do agree with the man on
that one.
Speaker 1 (01:05:10):
Okay, okay, okay, Hey, thank you you too, you Toobe,
and thank you for calling. I appreciate you calling. Hey, y'all,
some of y'all like to rock and roll the way
you like to rock and roll. I ain't mad at you,
you know what I'm saying. I just say I just
might be different like Bobby was. It was different. That's
(01:05:34):
the one thing you know, too, that you know when
you do this job. In my opinion, you know, and
I and I think I told you y'all this before.
When I first started in radio, I always I thought
rather that I needed to, you know, sound like other
people and do what other people do. I thought that
was what was going to, you know, make me more successful.
Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
I tried to. And there were times when I tried
to do like this person or that person or whatever,
and I realized, man, I gotta be myself. I ain't Bobie,
oh j. I could never okay, could never. And I
know that I'm not Oprah, I could never, or Wendy Williams.
(01:06:20):
I could never. Because I'm in my skin. The only
person I can be like and wanna be like is me,
you know what I'm saying me. And you know, the
older you get, the more you become comfortable in your skin,
and the more you realize it's okay to be you.
(01:06:44):
You ain't gotta be everybody else. You gotta be like
nobody else. Be yourself, Be your beautiful, bold self. Don't
try to be like me. Don't try to be like
Nurse Beverly or Lady g or Lady P. Be yourself
(01:07:06):
if it ain't with if. That's the only thing I
learned from listening to Bobbie oh j I'll tell you
that's one of them, you know, And I didn't learn
I learned that before I got here. But that was
also a lesson that I learned from him, because he
wasn't trying to be nobody but himself nobody. And I
can't do this like Bobby would do it. I can't
(01:07:28):
do it. I guess I got to do it my
own way. I gotta do it in my way, taking
myself all right, he told me to whoop somebody in
honor Bobby. So this is who I'm whooping. I saw
this story today and made me mad. Y'all see the
(01:07:50):
story about the man who's in jail after he allegedly
shot his wife, and this joker stopped to get up
beer while he was driving up to the hospital last month.
That's what the shoe began of Sheriff's office said the
Carlo Pitchford, fifty one years of age. He's in jail
(01:08:11):
right now, shot his wife, stopped at the liquor store
to have mercy by beer. Oh, oh my goodness. He's
in jail three hundred and fifty thousand dollars bond. This
happened in Memphis, Tennessee Shore did yeah, July nineteenth. Police
(01:08:33):
say they responded to that shooting call in the three
thousand block of for Story for Story of road in
southwest Memphis.
Speaker 8 (01:08:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:08:43):
So if I'm gonna whoop somebody, that's gonna be him.
Why you stop at the stove? Why you do it?
Why you shooting in the first place? You ooof you
need a whooping this for you right here jail. Mm hmm,
don't do it no more.
Speaker 6 (01:09:03):
Mm.
Speaker 1 (01:09:03):
Hmmm are the shaming yourself? Who? Well, that felt good.
That see why body used to do it? Oh that
felt pretty good. I think he needs some mo licks
get him. I'm getting riled up now. I can't believe
(01:09:29):
that man did that. That is just crazy crazy mm
hmmm mm hmmmm. W d I A Hello, hello A.
I can't call it jaim bug. How you doing?
Speaker 2 (01:09:49):
I told you.
Speaker 1 (01:09:53):
I'm crying, you.
Speaker 2 (01:09:54):
Know, can't get no trouble.
Speaker 1 (01:10:01):
That's right. Just call me a charlie drop. You know
what I'm saying.
Speaker 16 (01:10:12):
I was.

Me and Bobby go way back, all the way back
to the early eighties in Chicago. Then later on in
eighty nine, I followed him here to Memphis. He was
definitely one of a kind. I ran into him a
couple of times in Kroger and he was He was real,
(01:21:51):
just like you heard him over the radio. He was
that same guy.
Speaker 1 (01:21:54):
Yeah, no matter what, yep. I remember me and Sharon
would be in Whole Foods. He'd come to Whole Foods,
be and Sharon would be in there. We'd be talking.
We was always talking about food and products and how
to eat and all that stuff. Man, we went in there, talking,
talking talking. Bobby was standing up there, Ay, he was
(01:22:17):
just standing there waiting on us. I was like, oh
my goodness, that mass take. We talked about thirty minutes
one day a few times, and and whole foods. Just
he just stood there, didn't say a word. He talked
to other people, but he never said a mumbling word.
Matter of fact, I used to call him sometimes and say, hey, Bobby,
can I talk to Sharon? And yeah, yeah, yeah. So
(01:22:38):
it got a lot of fond memories.
