Speaker 1 (00:00):
I do. It is Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Like I said, let me see what's special about today.
Speaker 1 (00:06):
It's National Adation Day.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Y'all know that, So okay, I'm also saying that it's
World Humanitarian Day, National Potato Day.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
What do you do on National Potato? Eat a potato?
Speaker 2 (00:21):
I mean, come on now, some of these days, who
are you paying for these days? Because literally you can
buy I think it made like a thousand dollars you
get on the list for and you can have your
own day, like if you wanted a day like say,
for instance, Lady D called and she said, I want
a day a Lady D Day. Spend about thousand dollars
(00:45):
mm hmm something like that. I think it's that's what
the cost is. And you can have your own day,
sure can. But really I think it's for you know,
pretty serious stuff because a lot of these days, like
National a Day, shout out to all the pilots and
folks like that, the FedEx pilots and all that good stuff.
(01:09):
Snuffalopagus birthday today is his birthday, mister Snuffleophagus. Yeah, so
you when you you know, if you want something special,
you know you want to I guess you can get
on this list. I'm not gonna do it. Y'all can
do it all you want. I'm not gonna I'm not
paying you to have no day. I can have my
(01:30):
own day. My day is August twenty eighth, my birthday.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
You know it was coming up. You knew it. Nine
more days, it'll be here. That is my day, and
I'm glad about it.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Okay, Well, it looks like there are new concerns about
training and conditioning programs for these kids in school. And
I guess y'all heard about the latest. A Tresdent High
school student was taken to the hospital after experiencing a
medical emergency after practice. You know, that makes it tricky
(02:01):
for I think a lot of the kids that play
you know, sports and stuff like that. I mean, and parents,
because I know the parents are like some of them
are like you know, it makes probably a lot of
them nervous when your kids got to go to practice
and shoot back.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
In the day, that's what they were doing. I mean,
you have kids out.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
They practiced in the heat, they practiced in the cold,
both you know, football, outside sports generally, But there are
new concerns about it, y'all. Yeah, for at least the
second time the school year, a teen was taken to
the hospital after a health scare. Them PHA Shelby County
(02:47):
School said August the twelfth, at a child finished conditioning
inside of the school gym I had a basketball tryouts.
His mother was also at the practice and took him
to the hospital afterwards. MSCs says the student appeared to
be fine when they left the schoo school since return,
the child has since returned to treas Vent. But that's
got to be a concern, you know, but not just
(03:10):
in school sports, but in professional sports as well, because
if you've got to practice outside on a daylight today,
I mean, do they cancel for all the coaches out
there when it's hot like this today? Do they cancel
practice or do they take it inside? And I guess
where would they practice, especially a lot of schools because
(03:32):
many of them only have one gymnasium, And I guess
they moved, They would move somewhere else they I don't know.
But that's that's a tricky one right there, and I'm
sure it's cause for concern for a lot of parents.
But yeah, that's the latest news right there that, yeah,
these kids, it's hot. There are concerns about them training
(03:54):
and those conditioning programs here in Memphis. Yeah, I hate
to hear it, really do. In the city of Memphis.
They said, they're they're three to one one line. They're
gonna make some changes, but we want to know what
the changes are going to be, because a lot of
people have even called this show, and people have even
told me when I when you know, I've seen people
(04:16):
out in the in the hood when I'm out and
about and people will ask me about certain things, and
I'm like, did you try three one one? And they say, yeah,
we tried and either it was difficult to get through
or something like that. But at any rate, three one
one refers to the three digits Memphis residents you're supposed
to call when you have, you know, complaints about potholes
(04:37):
and trash, and many residents are saying they've experienced nothing
but headaches, no answers, call tickets being closed? Yeah, what
would you do that? Has that ever happened to you?
A city council member, Yolanda Coop of Sudden She said,
the most grievous thing is knowing your ticket has been
(04:57):
closed and nothing has been done, and it ain't been resolved,
and it's got to be pretty frustrating, uh, you know
for folks in their community.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Remember the lady that called, We were.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Talking about Xai and she was talking about, you know,
what they wanted for her their community, and she was
telling us the problem that she had and that they,
you know, weren't moving quick enough, and.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
Eventually something happened.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
I don't remember what she said, you know, but I
do know that that three one one number people calling
it trying to get through.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
For some folks, it's a headache.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
But the city, it looks like they're going to try
to revamp that system and try to.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Get some help. They want some help. Help is own
the way.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
City leaders say that they still encourage citizens to continue
to call the three one one or visit you know,
their website to report a problem. They say improvements need
to be done. Is it fats is having a vast
enough for y'all? What's going on?
Speaker 1 (06:04):
You bother? Because you've got trash out there.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
And you want somebody to come clean it up or
something like that.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
H Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Folks in West Memphis, I know they're pretty happy because
their boil water advisory has been lifted finally. So I
guess the kids that go back to school on tomorrow
because you know that boiled water it's been lifted and this.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
One's for Jackson. Oh it's hot. I sat today.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
I would I guess WoT this be good news? Would
you consider this good news? Utility disconnections are banned for
MLGW customers during extreme heat.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Would that be good news?
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Because the bad news to me would be the temperatures
drop tomorrow and the temperatures are gonna go down. So
I guess they give you your power.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
To day.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
Take it from you tomorrow if you are behind on
your bill. Yeah, that's the only bad part about you know,
hearing that.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
You know, but it does look like we're getting ready
to get into.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
The fall and football season and all of that. You
know that happens during that time that year Southern Herriage
Classic will be here before you know it. We got
Wine on the River coming November, our big seventy seventh
Double Dia Anniversary celebration featuring the Manhattans. Get your tickets
(07:37):
at my double Dia dot com. So there's gonna be
a lot going on and a lot of people. And
I don't do which one do.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
You like the most?
Speaker 2 (07:45):
I like summer. I do like summer clothes, and I do, yeah,
I like yeah. I think I like fall fall a
little bit better because the temperature is a little cooler
and being able to put on you know where you know,
more layers or wear sweaters and you know, stuff that
you don't get to wear in the summer time.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
But both of them, actually, I do like both of them,
both sides.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
I didn't used to like summer as much because of that,
because I always struggled with summer clothing and I always
had a lot of winter, nice winter stuff. But now
I kind of got a mix of both. So Okay, okay,
I'm down, let's go. I told you all about ozempic
and the tea, and I'm just wondering.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
What do you think about it.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
I know a lot of people when you sat hurt
stand talking about ozmbic this morning and them dropping the prices.
But the biggest thing with Ozembic is they're facing a
two billion dollar lawsuit. People had side effects. People had
side effects. So if you already knew there were going
(08:53):
to be side effects, because I'm curious who they gonna
get to rep do this case and will they win
because they told people that there were side effects as
far as I know, and I could be wrong, but
I heard about side effects. But people took a chance anyway,
and a lot of people want to lose weight. See,
(09:16):
we look at a lot of people on you know,
their outward appearance, and we say things about them and
stuff like that, but we don't even realize for a
lot of folks that have extra weight on them, the
struggle is real. And for women, oh my goodness, fellas, y'all.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
Don't even know. When a woman is going through changes of.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
Life, her metabolism changes, and it's harder in some of
her you know, the hormones in her body, you know,
they go through changes. And I imagine it's the same
thing for men too, but I think women have it
harder because fellas, y'all, y'all can go on a diet
(09:58):
for a week and lose fifty packs, and to me,
it takes us a little bit longer.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
And that's what I've seen. I've seen, guys.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
Man.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
I've did a We did a contest one time with
my son, our family, one of those contests where you
lose weight and we put up we put money in,
you know, like twenty five dollars. We'll put our money
in and the person who lost the most weight won
the contest. Well, my son won. It doesn't take me
and long to lose weight. We were struggling. We were struggling.
(10:36):
Oh my goodness. Yeah, it's just a difference in body types.
But I'm gonna tell you a lot of people that
are overweight, they took a chance. They took a chance
because and a lot of people you don't even know,
you don't even know, that's what they did to lose weight.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
And that's what they did.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
And some people those drugs worked perfectly for, but then
there were others that they didn't.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
It didn't work so well for.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
And so this is what I suggest, if you decide
you want to do one of those weight loss drugs,
please read about the side effects and read about.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
What's in it.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
Talk to your doctor, you know, be just enlighten yourself
before you decide to do something like that, you know.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
What I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
Like I said, it works good for some people, but
for other people that just doesn't work so well.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Mm hmm, not at all.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
So I saw Meg thee Stallion cooking for her Man
Clay Thompson, and I think it's amazing. First off, I
think it sends a good message to young girls to
cook or at least learn how to, you know what
I'm saying, And they pay attention to young girls like
make this. She's cooking for Clay Thompson, and not only
(12:01):
is she cooking, but she's taking him his food. Ladies,
y'all still into that? Do we still do that? And
is it a part of because because can women be
chivalrish too? Is it chivalrous for us to serve our men?
You know, I will tell you I take joy and
(12:23):
fixing my man a plate. And maybe I take joy
in that because I saw my mama do.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
It, you know, do it.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
You know whenever when we were kids, food would be
done and she would always take my daddy his plate first,
and then we got to eat. I mean we probably
ate around the same time, but he got his plate
and then of course we had to fix our own.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
But that's just how it is.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
She took that man his plate. So question, can women
be chivalrish too?
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Because you know, we want men to open the doors,
we want them.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
To take out the trash, we want them to do
all of those kinds of things. But she took Clay
Thompson his plate in a viral video on social media, so.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
She introduced him to This is to me.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
I don't know where Megan's from, Houston, I believe, and
I bet you her parents are from, which is Houston
technically the South, so yeah, yeah, so, but I bet
you have parents from somewhere around him, because spaghetti with
fish is a Memphis dish.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
You know what something I do? I like sugar on mygrits.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
I like, you know, the back in the day with
the cereal that didn't have sugar on I put sugar
on the cereal cheerios. If they didn't have any you
know thing on them, I would push sugar on those.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Let me see.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
I pushed sugar in my beans. I push sugar in
my greensna. I probably shouldn't have, but I did. I
wouldn't do it today. I wouldn't do that today. But
back in the day I used to do that. But
some people put sugar on spaghetti.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
Who does that.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
Sugar on spaghett Come on now, So so Clay is
eating spaghetti. She made him spaghetti. She made him fish,
and he's got one of those sweet rolls.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
Too.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
I thought spaghetti was a whole meal by itself. But
people have often argued with, you know, people from Memphis.
I know when I first got here, people would make
it spaghetti was like a side on the side, and
I was like, this is not a side. This on trey,
ain't it? But I've gotten used to it. So spaghetti
(14:44):
and fish go together, they go together. But sugar spaghetti,
I'm not doing that one. Y'all can keep that. You
can keep that sugar on them on that spaghetti, okay,
But it's chivalry dead when it comes to women. And Megan,
(15:04):
like I said, you're cooking for a man. What are
the things that men expect from us? We already know
that one thing y'all expect. We an't even say that.
But what are the things y'all expect we if we
cook for you, what else do you expect? Barefoot and pregnant?
(15:25):
I know some of y'all feel that way. I ain't
calling no names, but we do have a lot of
expectations for men. We got a honey do list. We
want y'all in the yard, make sure that y'all look good, Uh,
taking out the trash, pay them bills?
Speaker 1 (15:45):
What else? What? What's what else? What else? Ladies?
Speaker 2 (15:49):
Clean up after yourself now? But that's okay, that would say,
I guess they would say, that's a woman's to do
the cleaning in the house. But come on that you
stop leaving the toothpaste top off the tooth Yeah, you
got to clean up after yourself. There's just some things
that you know. Parents, if we teach them when they're young,
(16:17):
we make them ready for them women and vice versa,
because it's not just one way street ladies. We want
a lot. We want men to do a lot. But Rob,
we got to do some things.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
True.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
I saw this couple go viral on social media because
he was talking about all the things that he does,
and he talked about all the things that she does.
And basically, he pays all the bills, not fifty to fifty.
He pays for everything. He pays for their vacations. She
had a good job before they got together, and he
(16:51):
told her, you ain't got to work no more.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
He gives her what do.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
You call it, like a He gives it like ten
thousand dollars a month Josper clothes. Who is this man? Yeah,
he gives her the money for the trips. He pays
for all the trips. One she plans the trips. She
keeps the house, he does all those other necessary things,
(17:23):
you know what I'm saying. So I guess those would
be some of the things that a man would expect
from a woman. I guess, hmmm, because a lot of
y'all do have expectations. You'd say you don't, but you do.
So let's go to the phones and talk to you
guys today. See what y'all talking about? W D I
A hello, Hello?
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Call her?
Speaker 3 (17:45):
Are you?
Speaker 5 (17:46):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (17:46):
That's me?
Speaker 6 (17:48):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (17:48):
Let me do it right?
Speaker 8 (17:51):
Okay, what's going on?
Speaker 1 (17:55):
PC was having none?
Speaker 9 (17:58):
Man, I'm trying to say, who it as hot as
a deacons that they would say, Oh, I'll tell you what,
Lord Jesus Christ.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
Oh see, now Jackson doesn't want us to complain about
the heat.
Speaker 1 (18:10):
Prince Charles, Well.
Speaker 9 (18:12):
You know what, Jackson may have a point because a
couple of months ago, I was in the Caribbeans and
just to be like a cold front, and it was
really hot down there. I'm talking about super hot. So yeah,
I might as Wenna start complaining, but no, it is hot. Now,
it's hot, right, sorry.
Speaker 10 (18:30):
It's hot.
Speaker 11 (18:30):
You know, say what you want to say.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
Tell us what to do.
Speaker 9 (18:32):
Jackson's hot, that's my friend. Jackson once I'm domn O King.
I tell it to anybody to try to be Jackson.
Ain't gonna happen, gonna go afternoon to you your calling.
Speaker 11 (18:43):
That to your list.
Speaker 9 (18:46):
I really appreciate, Hey, Stormy, real quickly I wrote down
my list to do list. When I'm talking to you,
making a stallion, let me see them to compliment her
American estallion was cooking for her man. That's a plus
and a lot of moothers should pick that up. A
lot of womens right now they're not doing a lot
of cooking. And I'm not may they blanket statement. I'm
(19:08):
just saying some they saw some who can't even cook
because they didn't learn how to cook it. You can't
really blame it for that, but they need to go
back to the kitchen and it's and where it's. James seven,
there's only two places for a woman, the bed room
in the kitchen. That's what James seven said. I'm not
saying that.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
So so what are you saying, Prince Charles.
Speaker 9 (19:30):
I mean, if a woman can cook, that's a definitely plus.
Let's look at the big picture here, and she can
cook and do all the things, she can come home
and cook. But you know what, Storman, I'm not that
kind of guy.
Speaker 10 (19:40):
If I get home.
Speaker 9 (19:40):
Before she does, I start to cook it. Or if
I get home before she does, I always call and say, hey,
I'm stop and pick up something so you don't have
to cook.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
And we do that tip attack towards each other.
Speaker 5 (19:51):
So if she gets there before I do.
Speaker 9 (19:52):
But she, on the other hand, she likes to cook,
and she'll say, well, I'm cooking, so stop buying.
Speaker 10 (19:57):
Get chip late.
Speaker 9 (19:58):
And I'm always, you know, willing to take that cause
I prefer a homegook meal instead of going out.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
To a restaurant. Yeah.
Speaker 9 (20:03):
The second thing is, Tommy, I want to say that
the city people can save a lot of money right
now on the utilities if the city would help in
George people getting solar panels put on their clothes. I
have a friend who has solar panels on her house
and her utility bils. Regardless how how cold it is,
how fat it is, It's about thirty bucks a month,
(20:26):
that's it. And she has that's that she has a
big home upstairs. Downstairs they call it split level. Yeah,
so if you get soda panels on your house that
are tremendously cut your bill in hat and three one
one is a joke. I have called them and they're
getting no more responct. Matter of fact, when the lady
picked up the phone, she hung up quickly, and I said,
(20:47):
that's that's it for me, so I don't even worry
about calling them and my last three.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
I hate you had that experience with three one one,
I really do.
Speaker 1 (20:54):
But thank you for.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
Telling me about it, because hopefully they're listening and they
are trying to fix it. You know what I'm saying. Anyway, quickly,
Prince Charles, was your last thing?
Speaker 1 (21:02):
Quickly? Sure?
Speaker 9 (21:04):
I want to ask this. This is not only me.
Other people is asking because they hear me on the radio.
It's Matt Hatten't along with ANIT award. That was going
to be the only two acts that WD I gonna
put together for November the twenty first.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Goodness, gracious, all right, Prince Charles, I'm gonna let you go.
Thank you for calling in appreciate you asking that question.
But do y'all do y'all listen?
Speaker 1 (21:32):
You listen? Right? You listen? Do you do?
Speaker 5 (21:39):
Do you?
Speaker 1 (21:41):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (21:41):
All right, okay, because I know we've we've got a
promo that says and more to come. When I talked
about it today, I said, and more to come special appearances.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
Let me say this. Let me say this.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
I don't know if y'all know, and then she ain't
gonna like me saying it. But I'm gonna say it.
But I don't know if y'all know who our program
director is? Do you know who our program director is?
Speaker 1 (22:20):
You do know? It's Tracy to Thay, right? You do?
Speaker 2 (22:25):
Okay, okay, Well if you don't know that, now you know. Secondly,
we don't.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Get on here and lie and tell you more to
come if it's not true.
Speaker 2 (22:41):
We don't tell you there's gonna be surprise appearances if
it's not true. And I'm gonna tell you something because
I know I know y'all bumping your gums.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
That woman.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
Is one of the hardest working women I have ever
in my life worked with.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
Ever.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Do you know who Al Green talked to when he
came to be on this radio station with stan all morning?
Speaker 1 (23:16):
Do you know who put that together?
Speaker 2 (23:20):
And when was the last time you ever heard let
Al Green on this radio station?
Speaker 1 (23:26):
Who was the last time you heard it? Thank you?
Do you know who he called or who called him?
Speaker 2 (23:34):
Do you know who worked that out? It wasn't Staying,
It wasn't me, It was Tracy the say all right,
my blood pressure going up a little bit. I appreciate
(23:54):
you asking that question, Prince Charles, but you did you
kind of struck a nerve. And I know I know
people have been you know, we man. I just I
don't get it. When was the last time wd I
ever let you down or lie to you about stuff
like that?
Speaker 1 (24:11):
I mean, come on, now, I don't get it. Do
you know how we want to do something? This ain't something.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
Ain't anybody sitting up here not wanting to do nothing
for y'all's We won't too. We're doing the best we
can with what we got. It A but a few
of us here, and we're stretched. All of us doing
fifteen jobs, some of us doing twenty, and some of
(24:51):
y'all can't even get dinner together. You can't get your
whole family together for dinner. Do you know how hard
this job is. I don't want to address this no more.
If I will, I will if I need to. But
(25:13):
that woman is working her butt off, and that woman
know everybody. We got some people that know a lot
of people. You ain't heard nothing yet. That's all I'm
gonna say on that. We're gonna come back and talk
to y'all in a minute, okay, Lady p unforgetful, lady
(25:37):
d Miss Kosha Jackson.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
We're gonna take you.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Guys are tapping the app, y'all or email and all
that good stuff.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
And if somebody just text me. Let me see what
is a frankie? What's a frankie?
Speaker 2 (25:47):
She says, I always go to the app if I
need three one one for anything.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
I have never had a problem.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
My items were always picked up, and she says, love Tracy, thank.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
You, Frankie. All right, we can come back and talk
to y'all.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
Nin on one five three, five nine three four two
eight hundred five zero three nine three four two eight
three three five three five nine three four two.

If a man is doing what you got to do

for this extreme heat.
Speaker 1 (46:51):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (46:51):
You know, back in the fifties, fifties and sixties, it
was just as hot it's been. It's been hot for
hundreds of years. They were see that in the fifties
and sixty they had a big fan in the attic
and blow, blow, it blew the heat out of the
house and it was very cool. But these modern houses
(47:11):
don't have that big fan.
Speaker 10 (47:12):
In the attic.
Speaker 4 (47:13):
Okay, here's here's Jackson's five benefits of the heat.
Speaker 5 (47:18):
Number five, people drink more water.
Speaker 10 (47:22):
Number four more vitamin deep.
Speaker 1 (47:27):
Okay.
Speaker 10 (47:28):
Number three, prostitution goes away.
Speaker 5 (47:33):
Okay, you don't see you don't see.
Speaker 4 (47:35):
Those dirty girls walking because no John wants a sweaty.
Speaker 2 (47:41):
Okay, move alone alone.
Speaker 10 (47:45):
Number two.
Speaker 4 (47:47):
The swimming pools and the beaches are warm. You know
how you step in and hold this water too cold?
And the number of reason benefits of this heat is
negroes don't come out hanging out acting the food. You know,
next week they probably will, but right now you don't
(48:09):
see those negroes hanging out acting the food.
Speaker 10 (48:13):
Think about it.
Speaker 1 (48:14):
Okay, those are those's definitely some benefits.
Speaker 5 (48:17):
Yeah, yeah, my last point.
Speaker 2 (48:20):
All right, you ready what.
Speaker 4 (48:28):
New people call the Bell Johnson Show? And so he
has a guest. If you don't have a question, don't
call in love daddy, I'm forgetful.
Speaker 1 (48:41):
All right, all right, where's the dagg you go?
Speaker 2 (48:47):
I was trying to let him get to it. He
didn't get there, all right, w D I A hello?
Speaker 17 (48:58):
You got they got their ball up pace?
Speaker 1 (49:01):
What's gone on, lady?
Speaker 9 (49:04):
Not a whole lot?
Speaker 17 (49:05):
That just hot, you know. And I'm real, I'm real.
Speaker 6 (49:06):
Kind of streaming high right now.
Speaker 17 (49:08):
I ain't seen how to slow down looking at this
since she said cowd my friends Prince child got out.
Speaker 6 (49:14):
Now, first of all, I won't tell you that I'm
so glass you mador there say.
Speaker 17 (49:19):
Now now, I ain't gonna philoicaus because that's how I am,
you know.
Speaker 18 (49:22):
But we can learn to agree and disagree with one another,
you know.
Speaker 17 (49:29):
Just what I'm getting ready to say we can agree
and disagree with one another. You know you can say,
well the lad agree, Well I don't disagree. I just well,
I'm gonna tell you this right here. Some things I
disagree with what you say. But since I know it's
something that I say that, you may just let me
say my point. When I got to say right now,
I was listening to Prince Child. I had stuff with
him like last week. I'm like, hey, you got your
(49:49):
ticket yet. Now now, when you talk about surprise, you
know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (49:53):
It's okay, surprise sometimes.
Speaker 1 (49:54):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 17 (49:55):
It's a you can surprise a woman when you you
want to get married to us. You know mean, But
when you're talking about spending money, you ain't gonna surprise me.
When when I'm talking about spreending my money, I don't
need no surprise.
Speaker 11 (50:06):
Hear me.
Speaker 6 (50:07):
You're gonna even tell me what you got for me?
Uh or it is what it is? Reason why I
say it now, I heard you.
Speaker 17 (50:13):
Say this because you time like you got a little
touch when we're talking about traits for faith. Now I
want her work help with your.
Speaker 6 (50:19):
Spochs to right you.
Speaker 5 (50:19):
I know you're not here.
Speaker 1 (50:20):
I hope you do.
Speaker 17 (50:21):
But but I think she's doing a great job that
she can. Now I heard that you say that y'all here,
some of y'all doing five and six jobs. I don't
know why, for whatever reason, I don't know why, you know,
And I'm not gonna say the stops, you know. Like
so she came in, she spoke, and she said she's
going a new program director. And we you know, reading
her in and appreciated, appreciate her being there. And I
do you know what I'm saying and what to say
(50:43):
about it? You know, you start out doing things. When
you start up doing things, I want you to continue doing.
But you started doing some change, you see. I'm gonna say, well,
don't you say changes?
Speaker 9 (50:50):
You know.
Speaker 6 (50:50):
I don't like a whole lot of changing.
Speaker 5 (50:52):
Sometimes I don't know what change.
Speaker 17 (50:55):
Let me finish, Let me finish, Let me get my point. Okay,
When you say, when I say change, you want to
talking about when you took a vacation saying we didn't
hear a number music, but one time we had somebody. Yes,
you remember when you have people sitting there when y'all
take off, But this time when you took on vacating,
saying we didn't have.
Speaker 6 (51:12):
Number of music playing. We have nobody sitting there.
Speaker 17 (51:15):
I don't know why, and then this and then this.
Speaker 2 (51:18):
Wait a minute, wait wait wait wait wait, say that
again a matter of fact.
Speaker 1 (51:25):
Well, okay, okay.
Speaker 17 (51:28):
Come here and act, because you act, I'm you saying
when you when I'm not, when.
Speaker 2 (51:32):
I'm not here, I leave something for you. I leave
show that y'all. Well, y'all really had a good time
and you listening to it.
Speaker 17 (51:41):
Okay, I'm not talking about y'all. Well, I say saying
bad when we've been on vacation, we didn't hear nothing.
Speaker 1 (51:45):
But that's not all the time. That's not all the time.
Speaker 17 (51:50):
Well, this last two times, I'm gonna say this, but
it can't get on to my point. Let me say
you this truth, this positive y'all get ready to happen.
Seventy seven year old W G, I, A, and I
and I'm so glad, I'm so proud. Okay, you got
the best group in the world Manhattan. Now I don't
know just the seventies, because y'all will be seventy seven.
Speaker 6 (52:08):
Years old, right, So it sounds like people because.
Speaker 17 (52:10):
I know you're not in your sixties, but it sounds
like people in the sixties and seven. You know what
I'm saying, because when madhatns are passed sixty years old.
Speaker 2 (52:18):
Okay, but what are you trying to say, Lady P.
Tell me what you're trying.
Speaker 17 (52:20):
To What I'm trying to say is that it doesn't
matter what you got to listen to the point is
that most of your callers are in that seats, and
you know, and they half on all disabilities. Half them
don't even have money to pay.
Speaker 6 (52:35):
The tickets that y'all that they're asking for.
Speaker 17 (52:36):
So what is Ronald tenyllan, what's the surprise?
Speaker 7 (52:39):
What's Ronald Tellan?
Speaker 6 (52:40):
Who else is coming? What's wrong with it?
Speaker 17 (52:43):
I mean, that's my point that right there, if you
want you want me to spend I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (52:50):
I just called you, Lady D. And that was on accident.
Lady P.
Speaker 2 (52:52):
Okay, First off, I hear what you're saying. Okay, I
hear uh. I mean wait a minute, you want to talk,
you talk to let me let.
Speaker 17 (53:03):
Me okay, but when I'm gonna get off, because this
is yourself, but let me say this, your D, then
you can say that after I get off this radio,
because if you stop talking, will make me forget what
I'm trying to say.
Speaker 2 (53:12):
Well, no, I don't want you to forget what you're
trying to say. What I want you to do is
don't we get this out right? Get I don't want
you to leave. I want you to stay on the phone.
Speaker 17 (53:19):
Now, that's what I'm trying to get out of me.
Speaker 5 (53:22):
We got captain state.
Speaker 17 (53:23):
No, you know how you've got something all you want
to say on your mind, Let me get it out.
Speaker 1 (53:26):
So you're not through? Huh You're not through?
Speaker 17 (53:30):
No, not, because my thing is just right here, the
same something. Lately we're gonna to throw.
Speaker 6 (53:34):
Something from wa callers.
Speaker 1 (53:36):
No, no, this is not for the caller.
Speaker 17 (53:37):
This is for y'all up seventy seven years built for
the callers or something. You know what they'll say, Well,
we got a cram full of callers and listens, and
we got to pay with you know, we're not gonna
guse y'all's the same price. Well, you got price for
y'all pay because, like I always said, it's supposed to
pay something. But the singing past, I said, we got
a lot of singing citizens to this radio safe they
(53:59):
doesn't have the money. I call the show, don't have
money to pay the price that they want be asking
for it.
Speaker 2 (54:04):
You know, I want you to hold on for me
because you've said a lot, and I want you to
hold on becaus a matter of fact, Tracy's sitting right here,
So let me let you talk to Tracy.
Speaker 1 (54:13):
His she is what hello you?
Speaker 7 (54:16):
Well, hello Tracy?
Speaker 17 (54:19):
Okay, now, but what I'm saying Tracey, listen, I'm thinking
about it.
Speaker 5 (54:22):
I got.
Speaker 17 (54:24):
Now, you got a lot of single.
Speaker 6 (54:25):
Citizens that listen to this show.
Speaker 17 (54:28):
You got a lot of people that not financially.
Speaker 6 (54:30):
Able to buy these tickets, and I just.
Speaker 1 (54:33):
Think it's not fair.
Speaker 17 (54:34):
You know, you got something that even if they can't pay.
That's not my father's say foul, but they say was.
Now we got some da calls.
Speaker 6 (54:41):
We got a paper for you guys to see that.
Speaker 17 (54:43):
I mean, I ain't here now, but you know, thinking about.
Speaker 7 (54:45):
How y'all do y'all show like y'all do it.
Speaker 17 (54:46):
But my thing is that most of the people w
I A calls and listen, they overseasy and over seat.
You know, this is seventy seven year old anniversary. So
most of your callers, not you saw them, but most
of us are over sixty they you show, you know
what I mean. So my thing is that people said, well,
if you can't tell me who are comic costs? A
lot of people love Manhattan. I know I do, but
(55:08):
who else you can't just tell them?
Speaker 1 (55:14):
Let me explain this to you.
Speaker 2 (55:15):
If you listen to the promo, we said that there
would be surprises through the night. We never said that
we would wait until the end. We're about to announce
the full lineup. I've been programming for years, and I
and the makeup the data that we use. There are
(55:36):
a lot of people that can afford to buy a ticket.
There are some people that may not be able to.
But this is a business and I don't own this company,
and so if Bobby were still here, there would be
a charge for this anniversary concert. We're not doing the
Chill and we're doing Stop. We're not doing a chip joint.
(55:59):
We're doing anniversary concert. So the surprise is not has
nothing to do with waiting to announce who it's going
to be. We're going to do that in the next
week or so. We may even do it this week.
That's not the surprise that we was talking about. If
you listen to the promo, the surprise would be things
(56:19):
that you would enjoy, Surprises that would hit the stage.
Speaker 1 (56:23):
Surprises that may even affect some of you. All. That's
what the surprise is. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (56:28):
You have to listen. Listen to the station. We never
said that we were going to wait. I understand we've
only been on the air with this for about a week.
So there will be an anniversary concert, but there will
be a charge for this anniversary concert. We are a
radio station that's in the business as any other radio station.
People spend grown folks do what they want to do.
(56:50):
Grown folks spend their money where they want to and
so if people want to come to this concert.
Speaker 1 (56:55):
They can.
Speaker 2 (56:56):
Now the changes that you talked about on air. Stormy
has never had anybody on her show. Yeah, but you
said no, you said Stormy Show, you said all of you,
that's what you said.
Speaker 1 (57:11):
No, we've never had anyone.
Speaker 2 (57:14):
We've never had anyone on Stormy's show. We've never had
that for staying at the last minute when he hurt
his finger, he we we couldn't get anybody in and
we were going to tell you his business. I mean,
it's just some things I just we just can't are
(57:34):
out of our control. So and these are smaller things.
We haven't made any major changes to w d I A.
We're doing what we're doing.
Speaker 17 (57:46):
Why is working so hard?
Speaker 3 (57:48):
All?
Speaker 8 (57:50):
We got a job.
Speaker 2 (57:52):
We got a job, and we got lives. We got
lives and we got jobs. I think you exaggerated on
that story when you talked about having a lot of job.
Speaker 4 (58:08):
We have.
Speaker 1 (58:18):
The surprises.
Speaker 2 (58:19):
The surprise has nothing to do with the artists. We
have a full lineup that will be coming out. The
surprises was something that was is just a surprise, surprises
that you.
Speaker 13 (58:30):
Be dead.
Speaker 1 (58:31):
And I'm just saying.
Speaker 6 (58:35):
Everybody, I just really do no listeners.
Speaker 1 (58:40):
It's not the majority. No, you're seeing a lot of
It's only a handful. It's not a lot of them.
We have people that are buying tickets. We have people that.
Speaker 2 (58:50):
Y'all, it's the majority of the majority of people that
listen to the station will never get a chance to
call because y'all call, people will never call. And I'm
talking about people that make plenty of money that will
never call.
Speaker 1 (59:04):
Our people are not broke.
Speaker 2 (59:05):
That all of our people aren't broke to listen to
this radio station, right, That's just a true miscon If
do you think the act the expert would be on
here if they weren't benefiting from being on his sharing
great information with you. This is a is a highly
rated station that is heard around the world and a
(59:28):
very important station to our culture. We would never say
anything on here that was not true. I'm not new
to what I'm doing. I'm not new to this at all.
Speaker 1 (59:39):
She true to it? Oh lord, take it off. Well
it's not it's not about that. But it's not about that.
Speaker 2 (59:51):
If it wasn't working, it would the ratings would show
that our station is a very healthy station.
Speaker 5 (59:58):
Yeah, yeah, thank you so much.
Speaker 6 (01:00:00):
I do appreciate that. All radio station. I don't know
what I do with that, but I just had to
say things sometimes I have to get something off my
chests and being like we got it, we got it
through out.
Speaker 17 (01:00:09):
But I still gonna say this right here, I'm gonna
let you go. I still want to know when you're
gonna have something for your calling Listen what.
Speaker 4 (01:00:17):
You think?
Speaker 1 (01:00:18):
Oh my god, who is it for?
Speaker 2 (01:00:30):
Collins and listeners? Everybody, anybody that wants to come. Oh man,
then you got a lover. You gotta love, lady, you
gotta love. Thank you, lady. Pe We appreciate you calling in,
and thank you Tracy for stepping to the microphone and
(01:00:52):
talking to us.
Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
W D, I A hello. It wasn't blind.
Speaker 10 (01:00:59):
Between I mean the course of Prince.
Speaker 5 (01:01:03):
Living in a lady p I tell you so, I
don't see how you do it. I mean you have
to repeatures.
Speaker 10 (01:01:11):
I'm over and over and over again.
Speaker 1 (01:01:14):
You take your storm all right, Clyde, Thank you, Clyde.
Speaker 2 (01:01:17):
Clad knuckover on in here, knucklebone out, didn't it getting
a lot of emails here? African Consultants says, let's see,
brown sugar is always better. I guess on whatever you're
putting it on, mister Henriley with something else. Miss mits
Patrick says, high stormy, so glad to hear mister Henriley
called in. Enjoyed the conversation. I totally agree with him
(01:01:38):
about Little Daddy.
Speaker 1 (01:01:39):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:01:40):
Prince Charles says ice Cube's latest movie, War of the
World sucks big time. Don't waste your time watching that
terrible movie, That's what he says. Okay, and let's see,
I see mister Jones. Miss Tracy says, Lady Pete, what
is she talking about? When you have people like that,
(01:02:00):
it makes you not want to do anything for them
because they are acting entitled. WDIA doesn't have to do anything,
and if the people can't afford it, so be it.
Speaker 1 (01:02:10):
Everyone can go everywhere.
Speaker 2 (01:02:13):
Miss Mary says, I'm a traditional older woman, but I've
learned after having a nephew who loves to cook, that
there are no set rules other than what a couple
agrees to for their home. My nephew rarely lets his
wife cook anything other than breakfast. They both work and
they only have one child. He doesn't wash clothes, and
(01:02:34):
he's hired someone to do the yard work. What works
in one home may not work for another. Thank you
for clearing the air. Sometimes it's necessary. Lastly, it seems
like some of these callers needs to be to humble themselves.
Nothing is ever good enough for some of us. I'm
so sorry that you all have to deal with this.
(01:02:57):
I appreciate all of you. Shelby Lady p for your
ears only. Well, I will read that because I don't
think she want me to read that on the radio.
Speaker 1 (01:03:08):
All right, I think it's.
Speaker 2 (01:03:10):
About time to take a break, you think, uh mss
Vivian tapped in on this iHeartRadio app Let's go hear
what she has to say.
Speaker 20 (01:03:17):
Good evening, stormy, good evening. I'm just sitting here amazed
at how these people try to run.
Speaker 1 (01:03:23):
Y'all show y'all trying to get together for us.
Speaker 20 (01:03:26):
If y'all don't stop and let Tray say w D,
I ain't handle their business, they not gonna give us
nothing else.
Speaker 1 (01:03:34):
Come on now, y'all let them handle this. Thank you,
storming bye.
Speaker 2 (01:03:40):
All right, all right, mister Whitney says wool we lady
p man he her man better.
Speaker 1 (01:03:46):
I never let her get away. She is green as green. No,
wait a minute, wait.
Speaker 2 (01:03:51):

a moment. Y'all hang around nine O one five three

three four two eight three three five three five ninety
three four two. We'll be back in hell today. Tracy
(01:04:12):

I hope y'all are doing good. Thank you for being
here with me today. I appreciate you so very much
you've been you've been tapping that app. Let's go to
see what you're saying.
Speaker 1 (01:04:24):
Long time listener, but I'm a first time tap that app.
Speaker 2 (01:04:28):
Lady P just say you want a free ticket, that
you can't afford a ticket, speak for yourself.
Speaker 1 (01:04:34):
Well, okay, who y'all talking ature? Now I see why
Lady P and Little there were friends on the same page.
Speaker 11 (01:04:46):

Speaker 1 (01:04:48):

too many deals? Hmm okay, uh, well, oh she what now?
Let me see she want to know when you're gonna

We brought out Shirley Brown woo and she told that

Speaker 15 (01:05:24):
But not just her.
