remember the day. A lot of y'all remember the day. Yeah,

do remember for I remember a lot of things about

president at the time, Bush Young Bush, sitting there reading
to them kids. Yeah, like a deer in headlights when
he found out what happened in the You know, there

are still a lot of conspiracy theories as it relates
to that situation, And there are a lot of conspiracy
theories as it relates to the biggest topic in America today,
Charlie Kirk.

know what, I ain't gonna lie to you. I did
not know and I still don't know a lot about
Charlie Kirk. I have seen a lot of the clips

talk to the kids about certain things at these schools,
but I have not had an opportunity to really just
dig into what he was about, and I probably won't.
I'm probably not gonna do it, and I might. I mean,
I don't know. It depends on what time I get.

but it's not top of mind for me. I will
say that I do know people that are sadden today
because of the loss of that young man. And I'm
not talking about the president. I'm talking about people personally
that are saden today. And I know people that are rejoicing.

And I don't get it. The rejoicing part, I don't.
I don't get it. And and I say that because I
was angry at people who were rejoicing or seemingly rejoicing
when George Floyd died. I ain't see nothing to rejoice about.

And maybe it's just me. Maybe y'all think something's wrong
with me, but I don't see nothing wrong. I don't
see anything. I don't I don't see it. I don't
get it. I don't get what happened with TMZ. TMZ
is under fire right now. They had to come out
last night and apologize because when they were streaming uh
the situation UH and and and streaming the fact that

he had died, there were people in their newsroom laughing
and and and cheering. They came on and said that
that was we didn't hear. You know, people that were
watching the stream didn't hear what they thought they heard
that that wasn't what was going on. I'm sad today
because I just never saw us being like we are today,

rejoicing over the death of somebody who's never done anything
to me. And I never saw him do anything. He
debated a lot of black kids, but I never saw
him do anything to those kids. He just debated them.
You know, he debated everybody, and that's why he went
to those schools. He was debating people. Now, I don't
agree with a lot of the stuff that he said
at all. My infinite rejoice over his death. It's it

makes me sad that this country. I was watching something
last night and I'm gonna let you hear this. This
is this is TMZ trying to explain what happened last night.

We were live streaming all day during this this tragedy,
when something happened in our office. Uh as we were
reporting the assassination of Charlie Kirk, there were some people
in the back room away from news desk here who
were watching a car chase and they were laughing, they

were clapping, and you could hear it out here, and
we want to make a couple of things clear. One
is that I know these people and they were not laughing.
They were not reacting that way about Charlie Kirk's assassination.

tell you what I think. And I wasn't sure I
was going to have this conversation with you all today
because I do want to talk about some other things,
but I want to I want to share with you
what I think. I think we're treading in dangerous places.
We're in America. We're at a tipping point, and it's

not a good tipping point. I don't know. Maybe there's
no tipping point that is good, but we're in a

Kirk was. But a lot of youth know who he is.

And I do have a question because Charlie Kirk said
a lot of stuff. I said a lot of stupid
stuff when I was thirty one. I said a lot

I find it hard that people have no grace.

listening to us much unless you're talking to them in
your home. They're not paying any attention to what we're saying.

that are popular, that these young are young people, Your grandkids,

their attention is on those folks, and if we're not careful,
we're gonna lose them if we're not careful. And I
know that I'm talking to a lot of folks that
are careful. And I say that because you are doing

those things. I remember going to hear I was at
a National Civil Rights museum. They had not the National
Civil Rights the NAACP. Years ago, Susan Taylor came to
town and she said, if doctor King were alive today,
we'd have to apologize to him because we dropped the ball.

Why do they listen more and watch Ky Sinnett more
and I Show Speed and Charlie Kirk more than they
listened to us. And I'm talking about black and white kids.
I ain't talking about just our kids, all of them.
And it's a scary place because our kids are so lost.

A lot of them, like the sixteen year old that
shot the kids in Colorado. I read where he was radicalized,
I mean, and then shot himself. And then whoever this
is that shot Charlie Kirk. So let me get back
to what I was saying. The pastor I was watching
last night, and he was he's not from here, He's

not from America. He's from somewhere in Africa or somewhere
like that. And he said to me, he said, I mean,
not to me, but he said, when I was watching
this video, many of us left our countries because of
stuff like this, and now we're in America. And he

was saying, this is dangerous ground. We're treading on. It's
dangerous ground, and I don't think people see it as
for what it really is. Before I go on to
other things, multiple HBCUs across the US lockdown because of

potential threats, okay, a bomb threat called into the Democratic
National Committee, had orders, and so many other things that
I can do. We really want to go there, Are
we really this angry at somebody who we really don't

Memphis Mayor Paul Young has briefed the city council members
and told business leaders to prepare for the potential arrival
of the National Guard. I told you all yesterday, they
on the way, They on the way. I'm concerned about

what's happening here. I'm concerned about what's happening with our kids.
I'm concerned about having conversations with these kids. I'm concerned
about what our politicians are doing in our communities, what
they are doing to help this not happen, or you know,
what we are doing. I'm concerned about why these young
kids are more concerned today about I show speed showing

up in Memphis than they are with hearing anything we
got to say. I mean, I guess we follow people
in our day, but we I listen to my elders,
you know what I'm saying. I cared about what they
had to say, you know, there was a certain reference

and a certain respect. Do we want to be like
these third world countries? Do we do we really want
to see that kind of thing happen in I'm just
I'm just asking. I'm just asking, you know what I'm saying,
because I guess I'm I'm I'm I'm just It's nine eleven.

They're talking about the National Guard coming to Memphis, and
here we are worried about Charlie Kirk and and I'm
praying for his family, and I hope you know that
you know that they're okay. But how okay can you
be when this stuff is just in your face? How okay?
