Speaker 1 (00:00):
We've got Wine on the River happening this weekend as well.
You can get your tickets at my WDA dot com
for that as well. For those of you that might
be curious about what's happening today, this day honors one
of the world's greatest philosophers, Confucius. But was he one
of the greatest, Well, yeah, some people say he was.
(00:21):
So it is Confucius Day, that's what they call it.
He was born in China on October of five hundred
and fifty one BC, or the twenty seventh day of
the eighth lunar month of the Chinese calendar, to be
more precise. Confucius is one of the earliest and perhaps
the first great philosophers.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Yeh, yes, me.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Confucius was a little confused, that's just me. Anyway, It's
a lot happening on this Monday. To my surprise, I
was driving and I did not see the National Guard.
I thought today was the day that they would be
in our city, and perhaps they are here, and I
just don't see them. And you know, we've been saying
that they are here, and that it's a possibility that
(01:04):
they are, and that they're you know, getting ready. I
was actually looking at a church of my friend's church,
and every now and then, you know, I look at
some of my favorite pastors on social media, and I
was looking at a church out of south of California,
San Diego as a matter of fact, and they were
(01:27):
getting ready to pray for some of the members of
their church that were getting ready to be deployed. And
I was like, are they being deployed overseas or they're
coming to Memphis. So that was on yesterday. So if
perhaps they were coming to Memphis or are coming to Memphis,
maybe that's why they weren't ready today because they were
(01:48):
at church yesterday. So maybe it's going to be tomorrow
or Wednesday. I don't know. I haven't really heard for
sure when they're going to be here. But I did
think that today was going to be the day I did.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
I did.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
I was like, Oh my goodness, what is it gonna
be like when I drive on the other state? What
is two for it are gonna be like today? So
I yeah, so I didn't see them. Maybe maybe some
of you guys did. You can high let me let
me know if you did or not.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
But yeah, the.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Memphis Safe Task Force is set to be in full
effect this week. YEP, agents from thirteen federal agencies.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
They'll be in town.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
And everybody's been talking about it all over the weekend.
People talking about it, people concerned about it. There were
a protests. There was one here in Memphis. I saw
one in Nashville. So hey, hey, a lot of people
don't want it, you know, and some people a lot
of people do a lot of people say welcome to Memphis,
(02:48):
and a lot of people like, don't don't send them,
don't do it, don't do it. But it looks like
whether we want them to come or not, they are coming.
And uh, yeah, that's that's so. Were you shocked today
that you didn't see them? Or have you seen them?
And maybe I didn't? Yeah, maybe you know something I
(03:11):
don't know. And I was wondering too, did you see
that Tina Turner statue? And and and let me thank
Pastor lucimber Gray because he told us that that was
it was coming and it has arrived. Yeah, anime the statue.
Mm hmm, West Tennessee. They're showing major love to Tina Turner.
(03:35):
Saturday morning, fans and residents gathered for the unveiling of
a seven foot tall statue honoring the queen of rock
and roll, the late Tina Turner. Yep, it was sculpted
by world renowned Atlanta artist Fred Johanna. I mean, I'm
probably saying it wrong, but he knows who he is
(03:57):
when we call him. Fred now stands proud Heritage Park,
right across from Carver High School, where Tina once attended
classes and even played basketball.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
I ain't no, Tina played basketball, You go girl.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
It was commissioned by the City of Brownsville with support
from Ford Motor Company. The monument is a powerful tribute
to the icons, roots and global legacies. So congratulations to
I guess the family of Tina Turner. Now it's been unveiled.
The interesting thing is.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
While I I.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Did the hair, that's that's the only thing that's a
little interesting to me. But I mean, hey, you know,
I saw a lot of people talking about it over
the weekend and on social media. And I'm gonna tell
you them legs look like Tina. Okay, them legs. She
had them because Tina had them powerful legs.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
John.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
No, Tina had insurance on the legs.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Uh huh.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
She had insurance on the leg not always hurt.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
That over the years, and I was like, wow, you know,
you could get insurance on your legs, but insurance on
the legs. But the statue is up and it is
statuesque seven seven feet tall. So hey, jelly, some you
might want to go down there. It's worth a drive
(05:18):
to see. It's worth a drive to see for yourself
and a lot of hair. Yeah, but it's beautiful. It's
it's a beautiful statue. So what do y'all think about it?
Have you seen it? And you call me a pastor
December grade? How you feel? I know he's happy because
he was telling us about it and all that, so
(05:39):
I know he's happy. A lot of people went to
just f y, I too, wander Halbert's office the clerk
if you get anything to do, if you're trying to
get downtown to do anything, I think you won't be
able to get your tags today.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
I think I saw where the clerk's office is closed
today because they were having clerical issues.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
I did see that.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
So for those of you that might be trying to,
you know, go down there and get those tags, I
hate to tell you today might not be today for
you to do that.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
I did see where.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Yeah, the systems, miss issues with the systems. Awkward way
to start a work week. All Tennessee County clerk systems
are down. She says the public will be notified immediately
once the systems are back up and running. Yeah, that's
what Wonder Halbert said. And I think that story came
out yeah today. Yeah, it's a developing story and we'll
(06:38):
see what happens definitely with that.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Also wanted to tell you guys too that over the weekend,
you know how all the games did y'all go to
the Southern Heritage Classic. I didn't hear a lot of
people talking about I didn't get a chance to go
this year. I had some things come up and I
was not able to make the Classic this year. I
know that attendance isn't what it usually is, but let
(07:04):
me say congratulations to UAPB because they did win the game. Yeah,
and it looks like it was a good game too.
Twenty four to twenty did you see where the attendance
was quite low like twenty one thousand. But I'm gonna
tell you ain't nothing like the Classic in Memphis. If
you've never gone to the Classic, and you may not
(07:25):
know it for yourself, you know what I'm saying, But
there's nothing like it. It's it's I think it's a
I really do think. I know a lot of people
miss Tennessee State and Jackson State, and a lot of
folks want them to come back. But if you really
love supporting that event, and because it's it's now, I
feel like now it's a Memphis thing, you know what
I'm saying. And it's been a Memphis thing for a
(07:47):
very long time. And it is about the teams. Here's
the thing. It's about the HBCUs and given back to HBCUs.
So it wasn't Tennessee and Jackson this year. It was
UAPB and All Corn and they played a it seems
like a mighty fine game twenty four to twenty. I
heard the halftime was amazing and it was a good deal.
(08:11):
So I don't know if you all got a chance
to get out there and enjoy the you know, the Classic.
I don't know if you did or not, but you
can let me know. You can tap in on that
app or you can holler at me and let me
know if you've got a chance to check out the
Classic this year.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
And how was it? How was it for you.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
I know a lot of folks around here went to
the classic and speaking of classic games, HBCUs Florida A
and M their band announcer, He's under fire, made a
joke towards Alabama State's plus sized dance team, the honey Bees,
and I want you to hear what he said and
(08:50):
tell me what you think, because a lot of people
are calling for him to be fired. And this is
what he said. Listen to this.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Face of.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
You heard how the.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Crowd responded to whoever this guy is. I don't know
if you're gonna have a job.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
Them there now, the little face of OZMPI.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Now, I know there's competition when it comes to these
games and stuff like that. But he didn't have to
say that. He didn't have to say that. He did
not have to say what he said. Yeah, So anyway,
during fam u's home game on Saturday, Joe Bullard, a
longtime announcer for fam US Marching one hundred band, said
(09:38):
the honey Bees were now the new face of OZEMPIC
shortly after the young women finished dancing during the halftime show.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Now, the joke was met.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
With loud booze coming from both the home and visitors. Side,
with many folks feeling it was distasteful. Yeah, and a
lot of folks saying they want him gone. As of
right now, there's no word on if Bullard will have
to step down. He reportedly has not publicly apologized for
(10:07):
that statement either.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
But yeah, and I, like I.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
Said, I know, there's competition when it comes to you know,
these teams and the bands and stuff like that. But yeah, that, Yeah,
that was kind of a low one. And you know
they do, you know, during the during the performances and stuff,
they do kind of you know rag on the other
you know, band and and and the team a little bit.
(10:35):
But I ain't never heard nobody go that far. Those
girls did not deserve that in my opinion. But what
do y'all think about it? What do you think was?
Do you feel like he was wrong for, you know,
saying what he said? How do you feel about it?
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Hmmm?
Speaker 1 (10:54):
I thought it was quite interesting. Let me see miss
Grace as maybe the National Guard are here in Memphis.
They are probably laying low since it's the first day
of the week. Is that what you're saying, Since the
first day of the week, she said, they're probably laying low.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
Hmm.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
I don't know. I have not seen them.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
I do know one thing over the weekend, when I
was traveling, I was kind of, you know, peeping and looking.
I did not see as many THCHP officers as I
normally see. I didn't see a lot of them. I
thought that was interesting. I did I did. Interesting things
(11:37):
happened this weekend. Did y'all see the story about the woman.
Oh my goodness, this one kind of was interesting. And
I saw her mugshot and I'm like, what in the
world a woman is in custody. You probably heard about
this when after police say that she gave a father
and his two young children a ride and then refuse
(11:58):
to let them out the car La Trees Marie Allen,
forty one. She's charged with kidnapping and assault. Now, according
to officers, on September twenty eighth, the father told investigators
that he and his children they were walking around, you know,
over some crossing toward Fraser Boulevard, when Alan just pulled
up to him driving a two thousand and nine Chrysler Sebring.
(12:22):
Let me tell you just public service announcement.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Be careful because there was another story.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
That I heard about that happened over the weekend where
a man tried to stop and help somebody that I
guess they were call themselves stranded and got shot.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
He got shot.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Now, this guy was walking and she offered him and
his children a ride. He gets in the car and
she tries to basically kidnap them. Well, not tried, she
did there for a minute. He managed to get out
of the car. He managed to get out of the
car and managed to get his kids out of the car,
(13:06):
and you know, he had to kind of take take
control of the wheel. When I saw this story, I'm thinking,
it sounds like a bad movie. What in the world.
It sounds like a bad movie to me. But anyway,
he managed to get out. He took over the wheel,
put his foot on the brakes, and you know, stop
(13:29):
the car, got out the car, got the kids out
of the car. She comes after him, starts scratching him
and biting him. So he's got bite marks and all
of that. Yeah, so at any rate, hmmm, I don't
know what's going on with that.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
I don't know what's going on.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
With that, but I just want to, you know, share
those PSAs with you today. Just be careful when you
are stopping to help somebody and be careful about getting
in cars with folks and you don't know who they are.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
You have got to be careful.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
Today is not the day, not the time, nor the
hour to be exploring.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
You know, be exploring because.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
There's a lot of weird, weird things happening right now.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Y'all know what I'm talking about.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
You know it's true, a whole lot of weird things
going on. Yeah, Ms Coach says, Hey, Stormy, how are you?
You're absolutely correct. Tina Turner's statue is definitely interesting. It's
an honor, but in my opinion, it looks nothing like her,
only her legs.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
I'm just saying, that's what Miss Coacher says.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
Let's go to the phone to see what you guys
are talking about today, wd I a hello.
Speaker 5 (14:45):
Hello, Hey there going in first time.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
It's going pretty good.
Speaker 6 (14:53):
Dwayne.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
How you doing on this good looking Monday?
Speaker 7 (14:56):
I'm doing fine.
Speaker 8 (14:57):
I can't complain. There's no sense in a way saying
the thing.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
I just want to delay it that I.
Speaker 8 (15:05):
Thought when you heard it all she and then you
left out the part that China three said. They even
said she said, I've been wanting two little girls.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
That's what she said she did.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
She did. Yes, I told him that.
Speaker 5 (15:19):
Well, I thought I was watching park the guys for I'm.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
Telling you she said, no, this is what she said,
and I quote, I've always wanted kids, and I have
a better place to take you.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
That's what it was. That's what it was.
Speaker 8 (15:35):
Well they got a better place to take her, now,
you know. But you know, with Steve, I'm not gonna
say she might be already out on bomb. But anyway,
the Southern Hariage Classic, I did get a chance to
ride past her, and.
Speaker 7 (15:53):
It was more folks.
Speaker 8 (15:54):
I'm not trying to be Finey, storm you know, I'm
a comical guy, but it was more folks. Melros Hamilton game.
I mean, you know that was a good game. Melros
beat them fifth, sixth and done.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
Two.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Well congratulations, now come on now.
Speaker 8 (16:12):
Yeah, yeah, love Hamilton's hat anyway, but yeah, that was
an alarming story.
Speaker 9 (16:19):
And uh, the troops.
Speaker 8 (16:21):
They need to come on Stormy because of that stuff
right there. And I just was looking at the news
while I was waiting for you to call, I mean
for you.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
To punch me in.
Speaker 8 (16:30):
Two men just got killed in Parkway Village.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
Yes, two men.
Speaker 10 (16:36):
They news.
Speaker 8 (16:37):
Everything that's breaking new got killed. So yeah, I think
the National Guard needed to come on.
Speaker 11 (16:43):
Then.
Speaker 8 (16:43):
I'm just to be honest because enough is enough now, Stormy.
You know I love you, show you the best there is,
do the best there was, do the best.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
There ever would be.
Speaker 8 (16:53):
And what I mean that keep up the good work,
storm and had your read them.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
Have a good one.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
Storm thank it away said you call it in w D.
I A hello, Hey, how you doing so? Hey, I'm good,
mister Rob. How are you?
Speaker 10 (17:08):
I'm great?
Speaker 3 (17:08):
What about yourself?
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Doing good? Doing good?
Speaker 9 (17:11):
A couple of things that.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
I'm trying to figure out.
Speaker 12 (17:13):
I won't ask your opinion.
Speaker 13 (17:14):
Okay, the National Guard coming on arm that makes sense
to me. I'm not understanding that. One another question I
have is about this crime and missus. I'm trying to
figure how crime could be down and were the high
sitting in the nation.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
With the high craft.
Speaker 13 (17:36):
Well, I'm just I'm just a little bewildered about both
of those those things.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
And rightly so, and rightly so, you know those are
those are good questions, even even though you know a
lot of us don't understand it. Not saying that it's
not true, but a lot of us don't understand it.
And uh, you know they I believe they keep trying
to explain it to us.
Speaker 13 (17:57):
And when you think about it, you got these guys
caring the done with switches and everything. So they didn't
you know, because somebody's gonna be.
Speaker 12 (18:06):
Rebeiled against them.
Speaker 13 (18:07):
I can take it in now.
Speaker 14 (18:08):
And how can they protect themself?
Speaker 13 (18:10):
And these guys got.
Speaker 5 (18:11):
These gone with these switches.
Speaker 13 (18:14):
That doesn't add up to me.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
I'm not saying we don't want anything to happen.
Speaker 15 (18:17):
I hope nothing happens.
Speaker 13 (18:19):
But you know that pistol side gives you a little
more respect then just naked on the side in my
old pigeon.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
Well, I think they're probably I think they're probably going
to be helping and assisting in other ways.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
I don't think it's that you know, they won't do.
Speaker 13 (18:37):
But if you just say you got twenty of them
walking around downtown, you know, and and what do these guys
are carrying? I mean they're not equipped to do anything
in theirself.
Speaker 7 (18:48):
And hoping nothing happens, you know, but yeah.
Speaker 13 (18:51):
You know we are at mephis.
Speaker 5 (18:52):
And then like I said, on their crime, I thought.
Speaker 13 (18:55):
About that, how can crime be down in MEFI And
it's the hides in the nation.
Speaker 9 (19:01):
It's just be wildered.
Speaker 12 (19:02):
It will just be a little bit, but that's.
Speaker 13 (19:05):
Just something to think about.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
Yeah, it is all right.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
You're welcome, mister Rob. Thank you so much for calling in.
Appreciate you. Yeah, interesting questions and like I said, they're
trying to, you know, give us answers on you know,
some of that stuff. But some stuff is like you
you know what I'm saying, and hey, you're.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
Just doing your best.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
We're all doing our best to understand as we go along,
you know.
Speaker 6 (19:30):
W D I A hello, all right, how you doing?
Speaker 2 (19:34):
Hey, brother Bernard, I'm good. How are you?
Speaker 6 (19:38):
I'm doing well?
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Strong?
Speaker 16 (19:39):
You know what I heard some of the others come
in and out. You know, some of those some of
the National Guards people will be on possibly not not
all of them, but some.
Speaker 6 (19:55):
Of them will be. But I believe there's.
Speaker 16 (19:59):
Gonna be such a such a large effect some of
the other thirteen agencies that will be executing warrants and
conducting business that they that they have by way of
surprise on a lot of people, that all of the
National Guards people will not need to be need to
be armed, because we're talking about thirteen several agencies but
(20:26):
some of.
Speaker 6 (20:27):
Them again will be armed.
Speaker 16 (20:29):
But I will say this, although they will not have
arresting powers unless that is completely granted to them, the
fact that they can detain people is enough and trying.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Yeah, and I was thinking about that too. Do you
have to have a gun to detain people?
Speaker 6 (20:48):
You know what saying me?
Speaker 16 (20:49):
If they don't have a gun while they're detaining, you
best believe someone standing.
Speaker 6 (20:55):
Right with them will high power rifle.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
Right. Yeah, but I thank you for taking the call.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
All right, brother Bernard, thank you for making that call.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
Man, we're getting prepared. A lot of us are getting prepared.
I've seen where a lot of folks, like I said,
in Memphis are talking about it. A lot of people,
you know, getting ready. Chief CJ. Davis said, this operation
is going to be one that will help us to
put a dent. We are not eradicating crime right now,
(21:25):
but we are putting a dent.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
H Representative Ga Hardaway said, you'll see a temporary impact
when they leave.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
What happens interesting.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
All right, We're gonna come back and talk some more
on the way. I'm forgetful rainy my nest to y'all.
Hold on, We're gonna talk to you coming up and
got a few lines open if you want to get in.
You can also tap in on that iHeartRadio app. Because
I'm curious what you guys think about this man who
was the announcer at the game and said what he
said about those girls playing, those girls, the dancers.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
The Honeybee, the new Face.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Yeah, people are calling for him to be let go
Joe Bullard. Mmm, what do y'all think is going to happen?
How do you feel about it now? On one five, three, five, nine,
three four two eight hundred five zero three ninety three
four two eight three three five three five nine three
four two.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
Those are the numbers to get at me. We'll be
back at a moment.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
You know, there are people, when you know in Memphis
that you know, they're not trying to leave. They're they're
they're ten toes deep off in hand. But I'm curious
if there are people that have decided because of the
crime in the city, that have decided to to leave.
(22:52):
And I'm also curious too about how it affects the
folks that might want to come here to go to.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Is it affecting our city?
Speaker 1 (23:05):
I do know that people have left a lot of
people move in Arkansas. They're working around here, they move
in Arkansas, and a lot of people moving to Mississippi.
Did y'all know all of Branch Mississippi, All of the
Branch Mississippi was one of the fastest growing cities. I
don't know if it still is, but a few months
(23:26):
ago it was one of the fastest growing cities in
the country or then, especially around here. So yeah, And
I have talked to people that have told me that
that they have decided to move for those reasons. And
if you know that people are leaving for that reason,
(23:46):
do you still think that if you one of those
people that don't think the guard should come, or do you.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
Still think that?
Speaker 1 (23:55):
And by the way, the statue of Tina Turner is
not seven ft, it's ten foot.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
Just why that thing is tall?
Speaker 1 (24:02):
I was looking at some pictures and how small people
looked up under that statue ten a ten foot statue
of the rock and roll queen Tina Turner. It's got
a whole lot of hair, a whole lot of it.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
W d I A hello, how you doing? Hey, I'm forgetful,
I'm doing good. How are you?
Speaker 7 (24:24):
Oh my?
Speaker 17 (24:25):
I was just wondering about this man.
Speaker 9 (24:29):
What do you say?
Speaker 17 (24:30):
I can't come to hand with what he said.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
He said the cut words.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
He said that the girls are the new face of
ozimpic and ozimpic is that weight loss.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
Shot oz the Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Yeah, what people take You remember what Oprah said she
was on when she was losing all that weight.
Speaker 17 (24:51):
No, I don't look at too much.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
No, well yeah, well that's what she was on. She
was taking ozempic and so dad, they were fast, basically,
is what he was calling them. Well, they handeditat some
of them, are you know a little you know, what's
the read shots? Beautifully beloved shoests.
Speaker 9 (25:20):
Who No, I.
Speaker 17 (25:23):
Don't know, we're gonna take things too hard?
Speaker 1 (25:28):
Yeah, but come on, forgetful. Now what if somebody said
that about you?
Speaker 18 (25:34):
You are taking it affected?
Speaker 17 (25:37):
Is a man saying something free in her calling? Any right?
He ain't gotta tell you and really go with it
like that? Now come on.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
Now, Well, people are upset, they want him fired.
Speaker 17 (25:49):
But you know, I'm so you're just my being. I
look at a lot of media. I look at a
lot of shows, new shows. Now, what's wrong with the
coke Bottle woman? It seems like we suppose society loving
women that are all out of shape? You know, come on, people,
(26:12):
don't what y'all want?
Speaker 9 (26:13):
I mean, that's what you ride with.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
What's wrong without? What's wrong with loving a woman that's
out of shape?
Speaker 17 (26:20):
Hey, I can't I look sa Bruty denies or behold
what you said? And I can't do with Look I'm
looking with somebody like computer, turn to leave like like
you that's okay.
Speaker 9 (26:37):
That's okay people.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
Hey, I mean, you like what you like when you
like you.
Speaker 7 (26:40):
Like you like the frosty snow man, you better don't.
Speaker 9 (26:45):
Bore or whatever.
Speaker 18 (26:46):
I can't deal with that storm it man, you like
what you like.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
But come on now, come on and forgetfall.
Speaker 17 (26:53):
Man, y'all need to stop showing this stuff on TV.
And all these people looking like this, Come on.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
Now, what that's what you're trying to say.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
I'm forget for you're trying to say something's wrong with
a woman who's a little voluptuous.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
What are you trying to say?
Speaker 17 (27:07):
Look that go with men two. Now you need to
get in there jam and do somethings. Get yourself in
shape on out of something that's ridiculous. So and y'all
think you need to be fired because he told the truth.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Oh my god, No, no, now he didn't tell the truth.
He didn't tell Now that was just rude. I'm I
could come on now and forget. That was just rude.
That the new face of Ozimpic. They are not the
new face of of Ozimpic.
Speaker 17 (27:37):
Did you say one or two songs?
Speaker 3 (27:40):
What did you say?
Speaker 12 (27:42):
One or two?
Speaker 17 (27:42):
Might be overweight?
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Yeah, but what's that got to do with what you say?
You you don't have to say something like that.
Speaker 17 (27:49):
M dom he you might not be labing at home, okay,
but just move your ships storm. Why can't he decide
to one of the movies for us, like the Baby,
The Baby Baby or something like that. Come on, now,
I'm not a symptom. Fast don't they screen? But I
(28:12):
can say one thing about the symptom when they do
their movies. Man, you look at all these stories they
be doing in the movie something come to be true?
Speaker 3 (28:21):
You know?
Speaker 17 (28:22):
Yeah, want to do back in the past something came true?
Speaker 19 (28:26):
You know?
Speaker 17 (28:28):
M God dealing with the National guards not with weapons on.
That's a disgrace to the military. It's a disgracee because
you in the military. Just imagine of security.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
Guard is out of the bank with that his record.
Speaker 17 (28:51):
Imagine that, and you don't put the people then in
the harm's way and they in the military. You know
what happened to me a long time ago. So we
were over there in Central America. We were going to
a certain country and we got watered down from our
commander that told us to take the boat side of
our weapons. They didn't want no international incident. Everybody took
(29:15):
him out, put them in it up there, But me,
I didn't do it. I like that when they come
to my that's holl.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
Mm hmm, okay, all right, have a good one.
Speaker 9 (29:34):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
You know, he made me think about I saw the
story last week. Did y'all see the story of the
security guard, the bank security guard.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
The bank security guard.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
Somebody was coming to rob the robbing the store and
he shot at them.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
They took off, but he got fired.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
Then I was like, what where they why they fired
the man? And then you know a lot of people
that were talking about it. Well, you know, some people
were saying, well, it's not his job to be firing
his gun at people that are robbing the bank. They're
supposed to just let let I guess, let the people
rob it and let everybody go home safely. So I
guess because he fired a shot and and and you
(30:24):
know that the people that were trying to I mean,
they left, But because he fired a shot, I guess
they're saying he put everybody else in harm's way.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
Hmmm.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
I thought about that when I'm forgetful was saying what
he was just saying. Interesting. All right, let's go back
to the phones. W D I A Hello, Hang, man,
ain't got to say.
Speaker 12 (30:47):
No?
Speaker 19 (30:48):
Well, well, come asked about was the plan the crassy
at the Winterson sent if they're gonna have places for
people their handicap and blind.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
Uh, I don't know. I guess that's a good question.
Let me let me ask him find out. Okay, okay,
all right, thank you, all right, you welcome, miss Ma Nesta.
Thank you for calling in. Looking forward to seeing you too.
Speaker 7 (31:14):
W D I A Hello, Hello, Hey, there are you doing.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
I'm doing good, Rainy. How are you.
Speaker 20 (31:24):
Kick?
Speaker 2 (31:27):
You say you're sick?
Speaker 9 (31:29):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (31:31):
Why?
Speaker 3 (31:32):
Uh, I'll be okay.
Speaker 20 (31:34):
Anyway, I've called about the comments the man made at
the game about the ladies. You know, we're talking about
free speech now, but that is rude what he said.
Those ladies are not really public up there. Uh uh,
you know they're not out I mean they're out there
(31:55):
in the public and a game, and they're there for
their school. He had no right to say that.
Speaker 7 (32:03):
That was his down right route and ugly.
Speaker 20 (32:07):
And I let everybody, even on the other team, boot him.
Speaker 4 (32:13):
You know.
Speaker 20 (32:15):
And I wanted to talk about our governor before all
this start up with trumpet stuff and Marshall Blackburn's gonna
step in and run for governor.
Speaker 15 (32:29):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (32:29):
They passed a law with the say to Tennessee.
Speaker 20 (32:32):
That they cannot educate immigrant children. Well, that's in the
state constitution. That's in our constitution.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
Did that did that past?
Speaker 3 (32:45):
Did it pass? Yes?
Speaker 6 (32:46):
Them, it did.
Speaker 7 (32:48):
He In fact, the governor said that if.
Speaker 20 (32:51):
You want your children to go to school that's illegal
in the state of Tennessee, you's gonna have to pay
seventy two thousand dollar a year. Yes, the I'm that passed.
That passed five months ago. It was said, really sad.
And I also want to mention about the state coming
(33:14):
in and trying to take over the Shelby County school system.
They have no business in our Shelby County school system.
Speaker 17 (33:23):
And the only.
Speaker 20 (33:24):
Reason why is they won't part of the money.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
Who is that we from our.
Speaker 20 (33:33):
The Shelby County Memphis Shelby County School System draws, they
get like three hundred million dollars a year.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
Do you know what Rainy I wanted to tell you
now I'm looking at back at a story from April
of twenty twenty five, and that said that bill is
actually dead for this year after facing push over its
fiscal impact, its constitutionality, and what opponents said is cruelty.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
Yeah, they said it's dead for this year.
Speaker 20 (34:02):
It did cruelty and it also Uh, that just shows
you the he's followed it along, Governor Lee.
Speaker 7 (34:11):
You're following along with so.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
So with Marshall.
Speaker 20 (34:15):
But Bird, she was getting right behind him when they
were announcing about bringing the National Guard to Memphis.
Speaker 2 (34:24):
Yeah, she was with him. Thank you, Randy, appreciate you
calling in w D I A hello, Hell lady me?
What's going on with you?
Speaker 10 (34:35):
You know where I was.
Speaker 12 (34:39):
You?
Speaker 1 (34:40):
I know your voice every time you call. I know
exactly who you are.
Speaker 19 (34:44):
The song I'm so glad, thank you.
Speaker 21 (34:50):
Let me tell you this song. Hey, what's going on?
Speaker 2 (34:53):
Friend?
Speaker 12 (34:54):
Chah?
Speaker 9 (34:54):
Where you're at?
Speaker 21 (34:55):
Anyway?
Speaker 18 (34:59):
This is the game about steven As. Let me take
this right here, Stormy. You know that's a sure gone.
He failed the wrong procedures. You know, I said people
all the time, when you carry or done.
Speaker 21 (35:10):
You got to know where to where where and why
to shoot this gun. And people don't realize that.
Speaker 18 (35:16):
You know, he's secured the officers or whatever. You know,
it's when you're caring or done if you.
Speaker 21 (35:21):
Don't know the procedures, you know what I mean.
Speaker 18 (35:23):
And some people say, well, no, what protocols and what
do you know? You're off for all these officers secured offer.
Speaker 21 (35:28):
You know, you got to know these things.
Speaker 18 (35:30):
And so just like you said, so you know, I'm
not gonna just get off into it. But just like
you said, he put people lives in jeopardy when he shouldn't.
Speaker 17 (35:38):
You don't have to.
Speaker 6 (35:40):
Uh.
Speaker 21 (35:40):
But anyway, let me say this right here. Are you
glad they're coming here?
Speaker 3 (35:45):
Right here?
Speaker 2 (35:49):
Am I glad?
Speaker 5 (35:50):
You know what?
Speaker 1 (35:50):
I'm glad that something is going to be done. I'm
glad something gonna get done about crime.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
I am too.
Speaker 18 (35:56):
I feel so good. So you know, people you know
don't know, Oh ladies, just always moving, always going. But
you know, when you feel like you're feeling finish, start
being safe, don't and don't get me wrong that, you know,
pass off.
Speaker 21 (36:09):
To a Memphis police officer.
Speaker 18 (36:10):
You know, I said, I pray you women take up
out of them every day, you know.
Speaker 21 (36:13):
But they they they got their hands for us.
Speaker 7 (36:15):
And so it is what it is.
Speaker 21 (36:17):
We need some help the country wrong with it.
Speaker 18 (36:19):
Come on in you know, like you said, Oh, I
can hear you say that, to come on in here,
in here, that's sound good, you know I'm telling them.
So I said, come on, come on, come on in
here and help mental gal the come we need you, you
know what I mean. And to say about it, you know,
I when I hear somebo out feelings and when people say, well,
you know, we don't need a wody.
Speaker 21 (36:37):
They come in here because.
Speaker 18 (36:39):
We need we really need them some and they're not
gonna they not gonna. People keep saying, well, well they
are gonna stay a month or two saw And believe me,
I don't care if they say too much. Trust me,
they're gonna get some of the little rafts.
Speaker 17 (36:50):
Out of here here.
Speaker 21 (36:51):
And when they get rich something, it's good, you know
what I'm saying.
Speaker 18 (36:54):
So then you know I see it's don't be good
for a little while here, and I don't be good for.
Speaker 17 (36:58):
People gonna be able to go out and go play.
Speaker 18 (37:00):
You know, don't think that they're gonna be here and
they're not gonna let you guys do.
Speaker 21 (37:03):
Like you were doing.
Speaker 18 (37:03):
And I hope you have something. I was not do
what you were doing. You know what I'm saying, and
something you know what I'm gonna say this right here?
Speaker 21 (37:09):
Excuse me.
Speaker 18 (37:10):
I was thinking early today. Excuse me, and I said,
I told me, I said, you know, when you started
gain weight, I get it.
Speaker 21 (37:20):
I got a problem, you know what I mean?
Speaker 18 (37:21):
Because some people don't.
Speaker 21 (37:22):
They can don't pay away justin gag you took.
Speaker 18 (37:25):
But the thing about it, you can admit. You I
can admit because I've been too many places, evening at
the Rocking Terry and over there at the Green Store,
and you know, I said, brow, I need to go
to exercise. But I said, I don't want to blame me.
I don't want to blame somebody else.
Speaker 17 (37:39):
Why why did we do that?
Speaker 18 (37:41):
So you know, indeed you know, and you know you'll
say that you gaged when you gain weight and you
start looking in the mirror and you realize you'll save
me like a little because I ain't gonna say this
right here, so some people don't.
Speaker 21 (37:52):
I don't care what nobody say. I'm telling you right now,
I drink a.
Speaker 17 (37:55):
Little ber whine even now.
Speaker 21 (37:56):
Damn you go out to this and.
Speaker 18 (37:58):
I drink a look at my stummer started, you know,
and I don't think that she was safe enough to me.
I don't care what nobody say. When you got a
little summer and a little booty that ain't looking right
to make you ain't find them, so I have to.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
Tell my my goodness, no.
Speaker 18 (38:17):
I'm serious, you know, And so don't get mad when
you when you, when you, when you find yourself and
this just this, you know, and let me saying happy
the late birthdays to Mike dollar Man, I know they
got their swirl on.
Speaker 9 (38:28):
I was gonna be there, Mike.
Speaker 21 (38:29):
I missed to have a birthday. And I know to you,
I ain't just sold now for you, And so I'm
got breaking up on I started talking. I can't start thanks,
thank my call and.
Speaker 18 (38:37):
Think about what I said here because I know I
got to go in here to exercise.
Speaker 17 (38:40):
Why can get back fined again.
Speaker 2 (38:48):
To pe you something else?
Speaker 1 (38:49):
Okay, go get your exercise on, go get your exercise on.
Speaker 2 (38:53):
Uh, but you just I don't know.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
I just I don't think you should judge people based
off their out of outer appearance. I think a lot
of people do that, But I don't think you should
judge people based off that. You know what I'm saying,
And if you're gonna judge them, keep it to yourself.
You ain't got to say it out loud on a
(39:17):
speaker like that for the world to hear, because now
the world is here, because everybody's talking about it because
it's gone viral on social media.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
M m mmmmmm.
Speaker 1 (39:28):
All right, we're gonna come back and talk some more.
I see you guys on hold. Let's see Shorty Mac,
miss Joel and somebody's on. Hold, y'all, hang on. Got
a few lines that are open if you want to
get on in here. Nine O one five three, five,
nine three four two eight hundred five zero three ninety
three four two eight three three five three five nine
three four two will be back.
Speaker 2 (39:46):
In the moment.
Speaker 1 (39:46):
I kinda I kind of feel bad for you, unforgetful,
because y'all know what's what's around the corner, do you know?
Cuffin season And that's the season when you wanna find
somebody voluptuous to cough with, you know what I'm saying,
(40:07):
so you can stay warm, especially all the thin men.
I'm gonna tell you something. You're gonna need you. You're
gonna need you a woman with some meat on her bones.
Speaker 2 (40:18):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (40:20):
Some of y'all just looking with your eyes, look with
your heart. Give us women with a little bit of
girth a chance, you know what I'm saying. They call
us thick, they call us Give us a chance. It's
all we need is a chance. And the majority of
(40:41):
us can cook. See you missing out? You're gonna need
somebody to cook for you. You're missing out. Yeah, I'm
miss Anita Gray. I see that she sent me a
video or a picture rather of the two men that
were found dead today. They're shooting that happened not long ago.
Ain't one thing or something else. I ain't a good afternoon.
(41:04):
Just fyi. The military never comes out without their rifles.
The publics not getting all the information. See that's what
I thought too. I figure they can't use them, but
they can probably have some weapons on the I'm just saying,
I ain't you know, hey, I'm just saying they probably
(41:24):
gonna have some weapons on them the military when they
do come. Just FYI, let's see African consultants says it's
not limited to Memphis. Crime is coming to a city
near you. Those people in Grand Blanc, Mississis, Michigan, and Southport,
New North Carolina never thought that those incidents would ever
(41:49):
happen in their neck of the woods. Those areas are
considered safe. Crime ain't happening in a vacuum. If they
don't change the economic condition that is fueling the crime.
Ain't nothing gonna change Black folks. Main two issues are
psychological and economical, but mainly psychological. Because we can correct
our minds, we will be able to If we can
(42:11):
correct our minds, we'll be able to address our economic issues.
But we are not thinking clearly. We are out of
our minds.
Speaker 2 (42:19):
Who is we? Not all of us? Come on, sir, okay,
not all of us? W d I A hello?
Speaker 16 (42:28):
Hello?
Speaker 9 (42:29):
Hey there?
Speaker 2 (42:30):
What's it going?
Speaker 5 (42:32):
Hey?
Speaker 3 (42:32):
Ain't not what's up?
Speaker 2 (42:33):
I know that's right.
Speaker 3 (42:34):
I just want to exaperate.
Speaker 15 (42:36):
Something that I don't.
Speaker 7 (42:36):
Don't you get it?
Speaker 3 (42:37):
Don't you get mad with me? Good now?
Speaker 22 (42:40):
I just want to say this about the woman. Well,
I'm just saying about an unattractive person. All either in
this this should leads to something more disasterus than what
woman think.
Speaker 3 (42:50):
You know.
Speaker 22 (42:51):
Now, if one can say a man got to bring
something to the table before she just about to accept him,
I would think like bringing up uh a undesired person
to your home or trying to be with him.
Speaker 7 (43:05):
See, cause this could lead to say, if this.
Speaker 22 (43:07):
Man got with a woman that was a bad built
or whatever you know, uh, not built up nice, and
he just lay with him for one night, well this
one might have fell.
Speaker 7 (43:15):
In love because she needs somebody so desperate.
Speaker 22 (43:17):
Because when to come around the time and he finds
somebody that he really like, uh, they you know, there's
attracted to him, this.
Speaker 15 (43:23):
One will get mad.
Speaker 7 (43:24):
They could cause some some calse you know, for the
death or something like that.
Speaker 1 (43:28):
Min this man, Come on, now, come on now, men
fall in love.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
Just like women do.
Speaker 1 (43:31):
Come on, don't act like don't act like he's just uh,
you know what I'm.
Speaker 7 (43:36):
Saying that people love.
Speaker 22 (43:38):
What I'm saying you don't play with people love.
Speaker 7 (43:40):
Don't pretend you love it.
Speaker 3 (43:41):
If you don't love somebody.
Speaker 22 (43:43):
Don't mess with them. And if she ain't attracted enough
to attract you to them, or he ain't attracting enough.
Speaker 3 (43:48):
Don't just know that man for his money, because.
Speaker 22 (43:50):
He gonna kill you if your first chame to get
Now if you if he catches messing out with his money,
or she catch you messing.
Speaker 3 (43:55):
Out with another woman. So if you don't want somebody,
don't mess with him.
Speaker 22 (43:58):
That's been my my thing for you years. I mean
for ever since I've been from a young man my
late teen to twenties and thirties. I don't mess with
women that I don't want or just not attracted me,
because it could lead to some bad stuff. You can
leave somebody getting hurt or maybe to kill. So if
you don't want somebody, don't play with somebody for something
you don't want. Because if you see somebody tomorrow or
(44:20):
next week that you like and go to talk to them, whatever,
give you a number.
Speaker 3 (44:24):
Hey, they gonna soon let's find out about.
Speaker 22 (44:25):
It, and there's gonna be some caress behind me.
Speaker 3 (44:28):
So just just let.
Speaker 22 (44:29):
Her go and find who she can, or he find
who he can. But don't play with nobody life like that.
Speaker 3 (44:34):
You don't play with love. When you love, you love
from your heart.
Speaker 22 (44:37):
You don't love because of somebody got what they look like.
Speaker 3 (44:40):
That's right, and that's what I'm talking about you.
Speaker 22 (44:43):
So if you if you don't want an unattractive woman
or unattractive man, or just want his money, I'm gonna
tell you, baby, you need to go the other way
because these men ain't playing.
Speaker 3 (44:50):
Just like the women's sing.
Speaker 7 (44:52):
So that you know that that's just I think.
Speaker 22 (44:54):
That's what I'm forgets the mad have been coming from.
But you know it's like me, I don't want to
want a woman that un attrac I mean what I
want just because she loaning that. That's not good.
Speaker 1 (45:03):
Listen, that's your prerogative though. You know, your prerogative is
you can be with the woman you want to be with.
Speaker 2 (45:09):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (45:09):
But some some men love big, big women and don't
get mad at them. They're like a thick woman, you
know what I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (45:17):
But yes, but guess what.
Speaker 15 (45:19):
Some mans are laid with alligator.
Speaker 22 (45:21):
You hold his mouth, you know what there they're they're
live with if you hold it here.
Speaker 9 (45:29):
You know I'm saying, man, don't.
Speaker 2 (45:33):
Man, I got you. Thank you for calling.
Speaker 1 (45:35):
Okay, I never heard that before.
Speaker 2 (45:43):
Some men lay with an alligator. Okay, all right, it
is just me. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. W d I
A hello?
Speaker 11 (45:55):
Hello, hey Chicago?
Speaker 9 (45:59):
Are you?
Speaker 6 (46:01):
I'm all right?
Speaker 3 (46:02):
Hey?
Speaker 11 (46:04):
I followed my heart, you know what I mean. But
I'm not gonna mess your thik.
Speaker 7 (46:08):
Women are good, but I'm not gonna mess with women.
Speaker 3 (46:11):
That weighs three hundred pounds.
Speaker 1 (46:13):
Now, you know, well, I mean that's what progative though,
because some men like women that weigh three hundred pounds.
Speaker 2 (46:21):
You know what I'm saying. That's your prerogative.
Speaker 5 (46:23):
You're right, you right, But I do follow my heart
on things though, you know I do.
Speaker 2 (46:29):
This is what I think, Chicago.
Speaker 1 (46:30):
I think that women are more likely to date a
man who is whatever than men are to date a
woman who is whatever.
Speaker 11 (46:43):
You're right, because I ain't think some women that looked
very good with some guys.
Speaker 7 (46:48):
You said, what she's doing with him?
Speaker 12 (46:50):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 7 (46:51):
And you know, yeah, you're right, and we uh, I
don't know how to say.
Speaker 11 (46:57):
It, but you said it right the way you said it.
That's the way it is, you know. And women will
accept us more than we accept them, you.
Speaker 1 (47:05):
Know, because we're all we're good. We don't cheat when
we don't cheat.
Speaker 7 (47:11):
We're good women, everybody and cheat no matter.
Speaker 3 (47:17):
It ain't just me, and that's just cheat.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
Man.
Speaker 1 (47:22):
Why can't one of y'all just let me have it
just just one day? Say yeah, Stormy, you right?
Speaker 2 (47:30):
Just one day?
Speaker 7 (47:30):
Because can't nobody. Can't nobody be right on something like this?
Speaker 3 (47:35):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 11 (47:35):
Because both signs are guilty of everything. You know that
you explain it about were all guilty.
Speaker 2 (47:42):
Take care of me, all right, Chicago, thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (47:46):
That means so.
Speaker 2 (47:50):
Some man to give it an alligator of your own
his mouth. But I didn't know where. I never heard
that for my life, and I never heard that. W
D I a helloo? Hey Stny, Hey there, how are you?
Speaker 3 (48:06):
I ain't blessed.
Speaker 17 (48:07):
I am so.
Speaker 23 (48:08):
I am so about our people with the lack of knowledge.
Speaker 7 (48:12):
Yeah, but first it's really sad.
Speaker 23 (48:15):
But they I'm hearing, and you know, it's something I
do a lot of study. I'm not very educated, but
I studied. But I want to know about me my people.
I go, I go on the street. I'm a street person.
I'm seventy one years old. I'm out here in the
street talk talking to young people, talking to the old people,
and stuff about the national God. I don't care about
(48:36):
no national god.
Speaker 3 (48:37):
I'll come here.
Speaker 9 (48:39):
Okay, I'm gonna tell this.
Speaker 23 (48:41):
I'm praying, and I've been praying for years.
Speaker 17 (48:45):
Jesus please come.
Speaker 2 (48:46):
I'm ready.
Speaker 23 (48:48):
I'm ready because you know what, our people are gone beyond.
Our people don't got into materialistic stuff, spend so much
money on stupid stuff. All the say heard them when
I went to the garade over there, know it time
I seen the little girl about four or five years old.
Speaker 7 (49:06):
All the little girl had long hair.
Speaker 17 (49:08):
That's so ridiculous to me.
Speaker 23 (49:10):
That and then all the children got sell phones. All
the children got tapped. And that's who raised in our children.
They I told byby Oh Jay years ago, they need
to clothes the school system down. These children not learning
nothing in school.
Speaker 21 (49:24):
You know what kids need.
Speaker 23 (49:26):
Our kids need one book that's the Bible only. And
I told my my grant and my daughters and the
ones got children. I said, I'm being a fan of
the house, and I wanta try to bring my children,
my grandchildren to me. Y'all ain't got the worry about
it no more, y'all. Y'all bring them to me so
I can teach them what they need to really really know.
(49:48):
And y'all men's out here talking about a big woman
stopping when somebody complaint to me about how I look.
And I know I'm a beautiful black woman. But when
something I said anything about another sister, guess what I said.
You need to talk to their maker. Talk both talk
to my maker.
Speaker 17 (50:06):
Who made me.
Speaker 23 (50:07):
That's who made me, because that's who you need to
come front, right, that's who.
Speaker 9 (50:10):
Made He made us.
Speaker 23 (50:12):
Now you imagine all over the same size.
Speaker 17 (50:15):
But it it's terrible out here.
Speaker 23 (50:18):
It's really really just about hour ago, two young guys
eighteen nineteen over here in East Park where say out
four daughters to my father, shot each other.
Speaker 3 (50:27):
Both of them did.
Speaker 2 (50:28):
Yeah, that was the story we were talking about.
Speaker 9 (50:31):
Yeah, both both.
Speaker 23 (50:32):
My daughter Mama, Mama, mam, what's wrong?
Speaker 9 (50:34):
And at first she thought.
Speaker 3 (50:35):
I was a girl?
Speaker 23 (50:36):
Said, And then after they shooting, there was some guys
down the street said it friend be a game war
on the street. And my daughter I told my daughter
come on from y'all come on here now all mama,
I said, Okay, then, but it's so sad. People wake up,
mease wake up, because y'all lost. If we can go
the work forty hours a week and then as our
(50:59):
boss the time, why come to church and for it
on Sunday? Right, you've seen that parade of Sarah down
on the Orange mind didn't mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (51:09):
I saw some videos and pictures from there. From the
parade I showed, like to know who went to church
that morning? We said, bother senior boy. And I'm telling
this last thing I want to say. I talked to
God and my path said, you talk to God like
telling his God after you said he real? So you
(51:30):
guess how I talked to you talk You teach me
he was real?
Speaker 9 (51:32):
My mama, Tall was real.
Speaker 17 (51:34):
And I'm gonna tell God, you messed up.
Speaker 23 (51:36):
We made the because the animals out here doing what
they're supposed to do. The bird then buried the answer,
then a dog, then Lord, and human beings out here
messing with the animal. They out here living. They don't
pay no rent, no light there but the food we
thaw in the street and the wall of rain to
come from heaven is they are handed.
Speaker 1 (51:56):
It's some people doing some crazy things. And thank you,
it's Barbara. I appreciate you calling in. Yeah, I don't
think he messed up when he made man, because all
of us ain't doing stuff like that. Not everybody is
doing the stuff like that. W d I A Hello, Hello, Sorry,
hello missus West.
Speaker 2 (52:12):
What are you being, mister West? How you doing?
Speaker 7 (52:15):
I'm I'm.
Speaker 16 (52:18):
I I just.
Speaker 24 (52:20):
Card to let you know that three military helicopters that
flew over my house.
Speaker 1 (52:26):
Wow, okay, are they coming to talk to you because
you've had a lot of good advice for them.
Speaker 7 (52:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (52:37):
Yeah, they should stop on by your house and.
Speaker 25 (52:41):
They'll drop out something that one hundred million dollars. They
should have come with that one hundred million dollars. Verson
then you know, uh be at least start and stuff.
Speaker 24 (52:51):
And then there it got to this point now you know,
you know, you know message up there like old Donald
Trump our stuff and then come out and say that,
uh you know it's been messed up all the time.
Speaker 16 (53:06):
You want to start.
Speaker 3 (53:10):
Well, yeah, that's why I called. Let you hold that up.
I got you.
Speaker 11 (53:17):
Uh yeah yeah yeah, bo okay, but uh we're gonna
be cousin by the mind.
Speaker 1 (53:25):
Hold on what we are? Hey, cousin, I can't wait.
I got you, mister West. Thank you for calling him? Okay,
all right, bye bye, w d I A Hello.
Speaker 7 (53:45):
This is worse your doors.
Speaker 2 (53:47):
Uh uh uh uh? What is wrong with you?
Speaker 10 (53:57):
A new person?
Speaker 2 (53:58):
What is going on with you?
Speaker 10 (54:02):
So you reconnize, well, you reconie.
Speaker 2 (54:04):
Well, we probably all do.
Speaker 3 (54:08):
Well.
Speaker 7 (54:08):
Well, that's a good thing. I just tuned in.
Speaker 10 (54:12):
Like twenty minutes ago, so I didn't have a chance
to see.
Speaker 5 (54:16):
The the silly things that people are saying.
Speaker 6 (54:19):
So, but.
Speaker 10 (54:22):
I didn't have a chance to see what.
Speaker 2 (54:24):
You don't have to repeat it, you don't have I
didn't mean what like that. You don't have to repeat it.
Speaker 10 (54:31):
Go ahead, that's a question.
Speaker 3 (54:33):
Anyway.
Speaker 5 (54:34):
Let me let me spak about ten minutes. You know,
I was at the parade. I was at the parade,
and I was.
Speaker 7 (54:43):
It was nice. Yeah, it was what until I saw.
Speaker 5 (54:50):
All those politicians running for this and that. I mean
politician after politician after politicians run.
Speaker 10 (55:00):
For this and this.
Speaker 1 (55:01):
Well, I'm gonna come on, Jackson, they gotta advertise somewhere,
Come on, man.
Speaker 5 (55:07):
I mean the ones that haven't half a chance yet.
But some of them have no earthly chance of winning,
and they just made the parade longer. I mean, she wins.
And some of the signs didn't even have that picture
on it. At least have your picture on the sign
(55:28):
so we can see how sneaky or see how you look.
At least have your picture on the sign. At least
have the picture on the sign.
Speaker 2 (55:37):
You don't have to keep repeating yourself.
Speaker 10 (55:42):
I know, I'll messed with you.
Speaker 2 (55:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (55:46):
So and the game, because I'm.
Speaker 10 (55:51):
Mad and the game was nice. The game was very nice.
Speaker 5 (55:56):
It was it went down to the wire. It was
a great game, and the fans that were there were
great fans. But what I'm mad about is all the
people that were driving around and the tailgaters who didn't
come into the game. If you're kind of take be
around the game, at least come in the game.
Speaker 1 (56:18):
No, no, No, Jackson, nol Jackson. They've been doing that
every year every year, probably from SENSIS every year.
Speaker 2 (56:26):
Man, they've been doing it every year. Some years.
Speaker 1 (56:28):
There's just many, just as many people in the seats
as there are in the parking lots tailgating. Some people
come out there just to tailgate.
Speaker 5 (56:37):
So if you're doing it, stopping, come into the game
and support the kids that's on the field.
Speaker 3 (56:42):
And the band.
Speaker 2 (56:44):
But if you're tailgating, you are supporting.
Speaker 7 (56:46):
The game, not as much as you are if you come.
Speaker 3 (56:51):
Into the game.
Speaker 5 (56:52):
The kids don't know that the kids want to be supported,
and when they short on TV, it's not a good look.
Speaker 10 (57:03):
M h You're not gonna say what.
Speaker 2 (57:05):
No, because I know you're gonna repeat your no.
Speaker 5 (57:10):
Right, but but you have to agree with me that
it didn't look right.
Speaker 10 (57:19):
But you know who who? Who does?
Speaker 12 (57:22):
What?
Speaker 3 (57:22):
Do I know?
Speaker 2 (57:23):
M you finally got it there.
Speaker 5 (57:28):
Of course if if we if we don't show up
for the Gridgelies, well we'll have to drive three hours
to go see that.
Speaker 1 (57:35):
Him him, m hmm, I got you, Jackson got to run.
Speaker 5 (57:40):
Hey, hey, hey, I gotta get in go for it
all my fans and I'm child.
Speaker 2 (57:51):
That mind right down that mine wasn't the world? W
d I A l O?
Speaker 9 (57:56):
You created that month?
Speaker 3 (57:58):
Did I know?
Speaker 2 (57:59):
That month has been around a long time?
Speaker 9 (58:04):
I think so?
Speaker 1 (58:04):
I thank you right for years?
Speaker 2 (58:07):
What's going on?
Speaker 3 (58:08):
Young?
Speaker 2 (58:09):
How are you?
Speaker 9 (58:11):
I am?
Speaker 6 (58:11):
Well?
Speaker 9 (58:12):
This spell up in here that you're talking about the
Alabama State University.
Speaker 2 (58:15):
Come on here Alabama?
Speaker 3 (58:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (58:18):
Yeah, all right.
Speaker 9 (58:19):
So, first of all, the honey Bees, as far as history,
I can't remember the year, but the band director he
saw that the larger girls could not fit the uniforms
on the single dance scene, and so he came with
something else and the girls tried out, and so therefore
(58:41):
he set aside a group of girls to dance. And
I hate to even put it out there, but all
of the girls who are hundred bees are two hundred
and fifty pounds and up. A lot of us gave
some feedback, concerned that because we saw and some of
us still do and it's happening, that that would set
(59:03):
them up to be joked on every year. But we
love them because if you ever see them perform, they're gonna.
Speaker 3 (59:12):
Steal the show.
Speaker 9 (59:13):
Yeah, but they also because of their weight, get rid
of true because in this day and time, for some reason, we.
Speaker 3 (59:20):
Buy the same.
Speaker 15 (59:21):
Don't matter that.
Speaker 9 (59:22):
You're small or big. We all, some of us have
had something to say.
Speaker 2 (59:25):
About everybody, everybody, everybody, And.
Speaker 9 (59:31):
With this from what I've seen, Joe is known for
being rude and arrogant. A lot of his people are
you becoming and saying this ain't nothing new. They found
you have just let it get out of hand. A
couple of years ago they had a parade I think
it was during the homecoming, and many own people complaining
because he ridiculed kids and had some of the kids
(59:54):
during the parade crying because they talked about dance teams.
So it seems like this is something that just got
out of hand. And because now you not just sing
without a band, you singing out a group of women
in Alabama State, they're not gonna downplay it. And so
they're actually calls for him to be fired. Whether you
will or not, I don't know, but Sam, you seem
(01:00:15):
to just have let this go on too far. And
now it's made pretty much rounds all over social media.
It's being reported from state to state. Yeah, and then
this same man and sum that has a lawsuit against
the station because they, according to him, they fired him
and he's claiming it's because of age discrimination. But you
(01:00:35):
got the nerve to talk about other folks and you
got a lawsuit.
Speaker 2 (01:00:38):
Wow.
Speaker 9 (01:00:40):
So yeah, Joe might be a little to his job,
but it does seem like, Sam, you let this get
out of hand. And so now their president has made
a statement of course Alabama state as well. But I
think Joe might be he might be gone.
Speaker 1 (01:00:56):
So mmmmmmm, So Joe might be seeing the dough, is
what you're saying.
Speaker 9 (01:01:02):
Yeah, yeah, I think so. But but again, if you
nipped up in the bug. Since he has a history,
this could this could have been stopped. But it seems
like he's been doing this the year after year and
now he just he just under Michael's before and I
think for a lot of times that it might have
stayed local. But because this is no longer local, Yeah,
(01:01:23):
he's in big trouble.
Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
Yeah, it's pretty, it's gotten this growing, it's got legs,
it's walking.
Speaker 9 (01:01:27):
But so I mean, yeah, but it just goes definitely
what you're saying. You're thirty some years in the business
and this may be that one thing that causes you
to go home.
Speaker 2 (01:01:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:01:41):
I've been at games and heard the announcer say, you
know things, but I've never heard an announcer say anything
to me that is that offensive. To me, that was offensive,
And I've never heard an announcer like go that far
because I think sometimes we forget the the These are
young girls.
Speaker 2 (01:02:01):
These are not women like the.
Speaker 1 (01:02:04):
Cowboys cheerleaders or whoever.
Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
You know, These are a young girl.
Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
These are they're seventeen, No, not not seventeen, but maybe eighteen, nineteen,
twenty twenty one, you know that age and yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
well thank you for explaining that because I'm sorry.
Speaker 9 (01:02:22):
You talk about stick to talking about the band. Make
the throat's about the band as a whole. Singing out
a group of women because.
Speaker 3 (01:02:28):
Of their weight.
Speaker 9 (01:02:29):
And I will say, even with that, I think this
joke was pertaining to them being smaller than normal. Because
as for these girls this year are smaller than the
normal group.
Speaker 1 (01:02:40):
That's what I was thinking. I was looking at a
picture of them, and they don't look like that was
the joke.
Speaker 9 (01:02:46):
The face of OZIMPI your own ozempics, So therefore your
the joke.
Speaker 7 (01:02:51):
But it did not land.
Speaker 1 (01:02:52):
It didn't land well either way. Either way, it didn't
land well.
Speaker 9 (01:02:56):
Yeah, all right, miss say thanks.
Speaker 1 (01:03:00):
Well, thank you, Young August. Appreciate you calling in telling
us about that. Yeah, thank you. All right, y'all listen,
we're gonna come back and we're gonna talk some more.
Speaker 7 (01:03:09):
Mmm.
Speaker 1 (01:03:12):
You need a thick woman in your life. I'm just
trying to tell you. Me and y'all can say whatever
you want to.
Speaker 2 (01:03:17):
And I know y'all like.
Speaker 1 (01:03:17):
Them skinny women, and I ain't got nothing against them.
Speaker 2 (01:03:21):
Hey, I get a little jealous of you every now
and then. You know what I'm saying, Wishing I could
wear a two. I can't. I can't do it.
Speaker 1 (01:03:31):
I'm gonna tell you when you're gonna need us the most,
when it's cofing season, when it get cold outside and
you need something a little thicker, you're gonna come looking
for us. But it's gonna be too late, because we
(01:03:52):
gonna have found our loves. Yeah, all right, Joe mm
hmm that's his name, Joe. Okay, Joe mm hmm. All right,
we're gonna come back and talk some more. Y'all can
get in on the conversation. Nine O one five three five,
nine three four two eight hundred five zero three nine
three four two eight three three five three five nine
(01:04:14):
three four two.
Speaker 2 (01:04:14):
Got a few.
Speaker 1 (01:04:15):
Lines open, Lady D at the gate, y'all don't move.
Speaker 2 (01:04:19):
We'll be back. And it's good. It's good. I hope
it's real, real good.
Speaker 3 (01:04:24):
I do.
Speaker 1 (01:04:26):
Let me see if we're gonna go back to the phones,
see what you guys are talking about on this Monday,
September twenty ninth, w D I A hello, hello, he hey,
lady D.
Speaker 2 (01:04:39):
Yeah, you're doing you're doing all right?
Speaker 9 (01:04:42):
Yes, that am Actually you're welcome.
Speaker 3 (01:04:49):
Me.
Speaker 9 (01:04:50):
I can't believe id all, lease me counting the bad
date on't own a three hundred town, and they now women,
will they accept them four hundred, five hundred pounds or
not to hair, big billy. But see, that's the prime
(01:05:11):
example what you're gonna do if you're a woman, because
she's not gonna stay, her face gonna change, or her
gonna change. So they're telling me, any man that's got
a woman, if she'll fast too or she'll ate a
teen you did not eat nothing and gain not one
(01:05:33):
pounds to sound like your man saying, well, I'm gonna
look and give me a little warmer.
Speaker 5 (01:05:40):
The mean.
Speaker 9 (01:05:43):
It's really pitiful. A woman will take a man and
clean him up, try to help him lose weight, but
I don't want.
Speaker 21 (01:05:54):
To if she over three hundred pounds.
Speaker 3 (01:05:57):
Not the meanness.
Speaker 9 (01:06:00):
And really, but a woman that take you and help
you lose weight, she'll take you. If you you ability
too big, you can't tell your shoes, she'll even be
over and tell your shoes. But women, that's pitiful. It's
really pitiful. A woman came when for losing and showing me.
(01:06:24):
And one last thing, I wonder you know you hear
people saying even you y'all said, I don't see the
nation of God, you're not gonna see And what if
you're waiting on them to come in the neighborhood, like
all these folks talking, she's not gonna come in the neighborhood.
You're not gonna see him. They come and here basically
(01:06:50):
to kind of slow down. And if your young people
know how to act when they hear, if they like
a fool when they gone, this says a lot about you.
That says a lot about you. If your child gonna
only stay in the house, lay low, stay out of sight,
(01:07:14):
and then when they move on, you gonna go back
to acting as they say. Food this what this is fine?
And Chevy counter Bes and n City and all the
surrounding area. They gonna take care of you. Now, if
(01:07:34):
you want to act right, they're gonna treat you right.
But if you want to get out here and act
the food, what you need to do is show.
Speaker 7 (01:07:44):
The national God, y'all can come.
Speaker 9 (01:07:47):
Here, but we're gonna be on our best behavior. And
