Okay, today is World Vegetarian Day. Shout out to all
the vegetarians out there. And you know what, there are
more vegetarians in the world than you know. I used
to be a vegetarian, you know, and sometimes I still
eat you.

Know like that.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Don't always have a meat, you know, I might substitute
it with some beans or let me see, generally it's beans.
Or I might have a protein shake, you know, those
kinds of things. I did a lot of that when
I was a vegetarian. I'm gonna tell you Vegetarianism was
really good for me and to me. But I learned

something about the way I eat now that I think
is good for me too. I hope it's good for
the me today that I hope it's good for me.
I try to eat. If I'm eating meats, I try
to eat lean meats, turkey, things like that.

If I do I eat fish, I still eat a
lot of fish.

So baby, Basically, I was a vegetarian close to a vegan,
vegan uh vegetarian for years about twenty or so years,
maybe more than that, and then it became a pescatarian
where you eat fish.

And then I just went.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Back, not all the way though. I don't do a
lot of beef, and I don't do no pork. You
can keep that pork, Okay, no, But I ain't better
than no better because I don't, you know, eat pork.
I mean, if you like pork, that's you. I just
don't do it. I don't do it, but I'll tell

you what what works for me. And I try to
try to tell people that I know this. When you eat.
If you could eat like a meat and a vegetable,
if you could do that every meal, some of y'all
be doubling up too. Some of y'all be doing eggs, sausage, bacon,

y'all be doing at all?

If you're gonna do the eggs, what's.

The vegetables in them?

You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
In the morning, you know, make yourself, you know, a
mixture of it. So eggs with this is what I do.
I do eggs with spinach and carrots. Mix that up
and then I'll have a half of an avocado.

Because see the.

Meat family is eggs, beans and then whatever kind of
meat that to me, that's what the meat family is.
So if I'm having vegetables, I generally will have one
of those. I might not eat no eat no meat,
you know, like everybody else. Do you know what I'm
I try not to double up on them, you know,

with sausage and eggs. And when I do eat sausage,
I do the chicken one chicken sausage.

It's really good. I'll be turning people on to it.

world and all that good stuff. There's a young man,
his name is Jarvis Johnson. He's being celebrated as a
local hero in his area. But he's in Arizona. Jarvis
just had a baby and there was a flood that
happened in the area that he was in.

Do you know what he did? You know what Jarvis did.

Jarvis saved some people's probably saved some folks.

Lives, young black man.

Not thinking about himself, you know, and what he had
going on in life. He saw people stranded and he
saw people that needed help. He is out that being
a hero.

that are happening in this world. It really is for

I get to the biggest news because everybody have been
waiting at a watching wishing. Some people have been wishing,
some people have been hoping, some people have been a
praying about this news. I'm going to share with you
in a moment, But I don't know if y'all saw
at Memphis Shelby County school Board they got a new leader. Yep,
Natalie McKinney. She's been tapped as the new school board

chair following a tense vote that continues the fallout from
the ouster of Superintendent Marie Fagan's earlier this year. McKinney
secured six votes, all from members who backed fire in
Fagans Amber Hewett Garcia, who opposed the ouster, received three votes.

Former chair Joyce Doris Coleman will serve as vice chair. Okay,
so congratulations Natalie McKinney.

She now faces what they're saying a turbulent year.

State lawmakers are still pushing for the state taker over
of the district. A six million dollar audit is underway,
more school closure decisions are on the line, and a
potential new superintendent search could begin this summer.

My goodness, it's potential potential. You know, good and well,
Rod Richmond won't that job? He's acting superintendent now or interim?
Will they give it to him? The saga continues, and

So last night I was watching a police chase. I
was looking at this high speed police chase and it
didn't look high speed to me, but I guess they maybe.

They were speeding.

And I saw a kind of cars after this one
cost So these folks ain't playing no modey.

It was a lot of.

Tennessee Highway Patrol, about fift thousand of them. This ain't
the season. It really isn't. If you were out there
doing the devil's work. It's God's work, and then there's
the devil's work.

Anyway, I saw the story of the two men that
were arrested on felony drug and weapons charges. You know
what got me when I read this story about those
two young men. I saw their pictures, their mugshots. They
look kind of happy if you asked me. But they
were pulled over by Homeland Security agents. Let me see

around Clavern driving and Whitehaven, and so they are already
I don't know if they're out of jail, but their
bond is only twenty thousand dollars. See, I thought if
you got arrested by the Feds or you know, somebody
other than you know who's out there, you wouldn't get
a bond. Both of the suspects they're being held on

a twenty thousand dollars bond.

Let me see what they have had.

They had some guns, drugs and guns, but they said
a nineteen.

Year old and a twenty four year old.

They were booked into Shelby County Jail on charges of
unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a deadly weapon,
and possession of a control substance to manufacture, deliver, or sell.
And the comments on social media are just going, They're
going wild.

People are like what in the world. And I did
see too.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
I don't know if you guys saw it, but I
saw where the Federal It looks like somebody from the
White House is here. Is as Hrump? Probably not, but yeah,
I saw the I don't know if you call it
the motor Yeah, motor cat escort at ease White House
officials that are in Memphis, And I wonder who they're

here for. Well, it's wrong question. We already know anyway,
cameras spotted FBI agents at an excen at the intersection
of Macon and Sycamore View Road too. So if you've
seen that, it's a lot going on. It's a lot.

So I did see just a few moments ago where
the National Guard they're here, made their arrival today, as
a matter of fact, not long ago. Okay, White House
officials are here, Attorney General Pam Bundy, Secretary of War

They're in Memphis. Well, welcome to Memphis.

And again I did see where the National Guard they've
made their way here too.

But I want you all to tell me what you
think about this because I saw this. Pam Bondy she's
posting on social media. Yeah, man, she's going at it
on social media, keeping the world up to date as
to what's happening around here.

In just forty eight hours, our Memphis Safe Task Force
has made fifty three arrest and seized twenty illegal firearms. Yesterday,
a missing juvenile was located and three firearms were recovered
at a home of a murder suspect.

Wow. So who is the missing juvenile?

Speaker 1 (10:36):
I guess maybe we'll find out who that juvenile is.
I don't know, but man, that the three, it's a
lot of people. What do y'all think about it? Are
they getting to work? Are they Are they, you know,
doing what you some of you that welcomed them here?

Are they doing what you expected them to do? And
are you glad or do you feel some.

nationwide and said they were sold at Walmart and Trader Joe's.

Or him rather, He writes, my son just started college
this fall, and he already says he hates it and
wants to come home. He's never really left home for
more than a few days, and he's already homesick and
says he can't handle his schoolwork because with everything else

on top of that, he's overwhelmed. He also complains about
not being able to make friends. On one hand, he says.
I want to support him, but on the other I
feel like I'd be doing him a disservice to let
him give up so easily. Life's tough and he's going

to have to learn to deal with it. I know
he's capable, but right now he sounds miserable. How can
I help him without teaching him that it's okay to quit?

There's some things in life that it's okay to quit,

is experiencing adulting. I know when I first started experiencing adulting,
I was like, what is this? I have to pay

you know, manage things. But then I got real good
at it. But I would not have gotten good at it. Well,

we're going, the National Guards are going to come here

even before Donald Trump even started talking about national guards.
I said, we don't watch it because I called the
shows going in. I said, you know, we need to
have a perfew here, but we need to enforce the
curfew m And I said that it needs to stem

these streets.

That's on these streets is for everybody now, but I'm

in the media talking about are Republicans gonna shut down

not not the case. What Democrats did that caused the
shut down. They put a loophole in there for medicaid

for illegals, a loophole that will allow California to continue exploring,
a loophole to fund medicaid for illegals.

Come back home of his hometown and enrolled in a
local school. Because some kids aren't ready yet and might
need to stay home and go to community college and

thing it reminds me of that parents need to try

to make sure their children don't just stay.

how to make friends, they learn how to be away

my mama did, make you go to all the vacation
Bible schools, and so you get to know different people.

You go to the different ones cross town, so you
still get to know some different people.

So that's what I think parents need to make sure
they do because when you let your child tell you no,
they don't want to be in this, No, they don't
want to be in that, They just like to stay
in the house all the time, you really need to
encourage them to try to get to know people.
