Speaker 1 (00:03):
Did they rather see see this is side messes me up.
Every time this happens. I get all messed up. I
get all just I'm all over the place. I don't
know what's going on up in here. I don't I'm
trying to figure this thing out, y'all, but I'm no engineer.
I don't know anything about what's all this stuff up
in here. Because if I'm telling you something, if I could,
(00:25):
if I could fix it, I would, If I could
fix it, I would anyway, y'all talk to me, tell
me if you can hear me on this radio. And man,
I hate that this happens. It's just too much, too much, too.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Much every day around this time. What is really going on?
Speaker 1 (00:45):
I said, I'm seriously.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Trying to figure it out myself. I'm trying to figure
it out.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
I don't get it. I don't understand it. I don't
get it at all. I'm a wd I A hello.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Suw on me y'all out there again?
Speaker 4 (00:55):
I did?
Speaker 1 (00:57):
Are you on the radio? Can you hear me now?
Can you hear me now? Okay, look at God, thank you.
I forget you did that. Hold on, I'm forget for
hold on all right, let's get to some conversation around here.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know what happened.
Don't ask me how did it?
Speaker 5 (01:14):
Wasn't me.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
I didn't turned nothing off. I turned it on.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
But yeah, anyway.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Yes, I was trying to tell you guys earlier that
it's a National Human Rights Day. This day commemorates the
day of nineteen forty eight, on which the United Nations
General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. What
they say?
Speaker 2 (01:37):
It's also National Nobel Day. Yeah, it is.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
It was this day in nineteen oh one that the
first Nobel Prizes were awarded in Stockholm, Sweden. Yep, if
you heard my tea a moment ago, you heard a
lot of Memphis in that tea, didn't you. Oh my goodness,
Kamala Harris is coming to Memphis. Let's see, all right.
The Memphis Tigers new coach was introduced to us. Mister
(02:06):
huff uh huh. He's saying he's gonna bring them back up.
He's gonna bring them tigers own up. What tigers were
already pretty good, but he said they're finna go all
the way. Baby, to the moon, Alice, we say, to
the moon Alice anyway. Instead, they're gonna be good there.
I believe they will be. I'm here for mister Huff.
(02:27):
Is he the first? Should I even say it? Is
he the first black coach that the Tigers have ever had?
Or is he the second? Hmmm, I don't know. Interesting,
very interesting, yep, mister Charles Huff, he said, why am
(02:47):
I here? I'm here to close this gap. We've been good,
We've won games. Now it's time to win some champion
she said. We'll tell you. People are excited about it too.
Tigers wining, we walk championships. That's what we want. We want,
that's what we want.
Speaker 6 (03:05):
Mm hm.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
So uh again our girl Kamala coming in speaking, I
put hat that until John Morant gave away tickets. I
think it was about two hundred and fifty tickets. And
so now they're giving him the business because he gave
it with Joe can't win for losing, because I believe
he's going to be back this Friday night, right, so
(03:27):
he does something nice. He gives away two hundred and
fifty tickets today and people heard him. They showed up
down there at the Forum and they got them tickets.
And now people are like oh, that's a sizeable three
hundred dollars donation. You know what I'm saying, like, why,
why y'all messing with him like that? Let the man
(03:47):
be a man. Let come on, Joe, Joh, thank you,
because you didn't have to do that. He didn't have
to get away that many tickets. He didn't have to
do that, but he did. And I bet you there's
some good seats. I bet you there good seats. I
bet you, thank you, Joh, thank you. I ain't mad
at you, Nope, not at all. I was having a
(04:10):
conversation with a girlfriend of mine, y'all. We were talking.
She's married, and she was talking to me, woman to woman.
She asked me a question. I couldn't help her because
I'm newly married. I don't I don't have I don't
you know, I don't know about what she's going through
and hopefully won't ever go through it. But you know,
(04:34):
she's talking about money. She's talking about how you know
it's she is the breadwinner in the in the in
the family, and she she's struggling because her husband, they
have a joint account, and her husband is.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Spending money when she doesn't know what's going on.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
She went to go, you know, buy something one day,
and the money was, you know, wasn't there, not as
much as she had hoped to be there to pay
for what she's trying to pay for. So she's like,
how do I have to let I'm like, girl, I
don't know. Hum, I just got married. I ain't gonna
answer those kind of questions. But y'all might want to
chime in, because I I did give her us, you know,
(05:26):
and some advice, and I don't think my advice was good.
I really think the advice I gave her was wrong,
now that I think about it. I told her that
maybe she should open a second account that.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
He doesn't know about.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
But then I thought about it, and only because you know,
she was saying she has a hard time with him.
He just when it comes to stuff like that. And
also that's the only reason I said it. But then
I thought about it, I was like, you know, later on,
it was like, would I want that? Would I want
to know that or not to know if my husband
(06:03):
opened an account that I didn't know about? Would I
want that? Seriously? Because when I thought about it, I
was like, maybe the first off, I ain't gonna give
her no advice no more, I'm gonna go back.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
I'm aa call her back and say, girl, I'm sorry
I gave you that advice.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
But I don't know how do y'all handle stuff like
that when it comes to your significant other? Is it good?
Because I've always heard women over the years say I've
always heard women over the years say a hold on caller.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
You know, they've always said, you know, sometimes.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
Is his bank account, it is the joint bank account,
and then it's your bank accoun You know what I'm saying.
So is that something that needs to be in your opinion?
Would it be okay to be separate? I know, we
you know, I'm just we're just talking. We just I'm
trying to help her out. But honestly, I really think
the best advice for my girlfriend is to go get
(07:00):
some therapy. Y'all know, uh uh the worst thing of
the should I say this is the worst thing, but
one thing that men don't want to do black men.
I may be I might be wrong.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
I'm just I know here, well, her husband is black.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
When you start talking about therapy over something like that,
girl by but That's what I'm.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Thinking I should have told her.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Maybe that's something y'all need to go get therapy about
because you know they've been married for quite some time,
and it's been happening for a very long time, and
you know, it's like, I can't I honestly, I can't
help because I'm new to this thing, and I feel
like I did give her what I feel like is
bad advice. I gotta call and apologize.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
I feel like it was bad advice. Somebody tapped this
up over here. Let me see what they're saying.
Speaker 7 (07:54):
Yes, thank you. Well at least I can hear you.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Thank youppreciate that because I didn't know what was going on.
I didn't know what was going on.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
Let me see.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
I just got an email from African Consultants. He says,
why do you keep pushing Kamala on black me? You're
talking about the woman's coming to Memphis. It's all over
the news, pushing on nobody. What is wrong?
Speaker 8 (08:17):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Come on man. Black woman claimed that she was African American.
She has never ever claimed it. Her mother is East
Indian from India and her father is East Indian from Jamaica.
Come on, man, come on, where have you watched the news?
(08:46):
Maybe you haven't, but it's all over the place that
she's coming. So I said it now, there it is,
and a lot of people want to see her. You
might not be one of those people, but a lot
of people do. Do you remember those Christmas carolers that
I was telling you guys about yesterday, those Christmas hold
(09:07):
on color you know those Christmas carol as I was
talking all about hold on calor.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Uh, those Christmas carolers.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
M they're coming up because now they're being featured on
popular blogs and well a lot of people don't like it, but.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
The Christmas carols out.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
Of Memphis, they they're getting some play. Hold on Caller
people are watching them. Yeah, and so now they want
to know what songs people other songs people want to
sing or you know that kind of thing. And a
lot of people are like, how about One person said,
how about Silent Night actual Christmas songs? Because you know,
(09:46):
I told you yesterday that they sing Christmas songs and
the songs are kind of won't you for lack of
a better word, the wroon't you? M M all right,
I got a question. We're going to talk about this
because this is something to me and my husband we're
talking about and I want to talk to you guys
(10:08):
about to see what y'all see, what y'all think about this,
and we can talk whatever, but what we talk about
whatever y'all want to talk about.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
But here's the last one.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Did you see the.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Story about Michael Virgil.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
Went on a cruise Royal Caribbean cruise, died on that cruise. Yeah,
there's a video and I believe this video, the one
that I'm looking at. It was Fox eleven Los Angeles
video that it shows that man he was knocking, I guess,
(10:45):
and beating on a passenger's door. And then there's also
a video of the security on the boat coming to
for lack of a better word, I guess, subdue him
or you know, kind of try to control him in
some way. But they were doing what we, you know,
(11:08):
have seen in police officer videos where they come and
you know, grab somebody. They pepper sprayed him.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Eventually, Michael Virgil died.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Okay. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ruled his death
as a homicide. Yeah, it said Michael Virgil died from
the combined effects of mechanical asphyxia, which is when force
or an object blocks breathing, obesity, and enlarged heart and
(11:46):
alcohol intoxication, but they ruled it a homicide. The family
of Michael Virgil is now suing because they feel like
that Royal Caribbean is negligent. Show me and my husband,
(12:09):
we're talking about this situation. The bartender are bartenders on
this boat? Had to be a bartender, because how do
you know how many drinks Michael was served?
Speaker 2 (12:26):
The bartender.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
Or somebody recorded that he was served at least thirty
three drinks. That's what the lawsuit is claiming. Let me
just say that what the lawsuit is claiming. So they're
suing Royal Caribbean alleging it negligently served him those alcoholic
(12:55):
drinks and that they are liable for his death after
the crew members tackled him to the ground and stood
on him with their full body weight.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
What does that sound like.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
At any rate? Me and my husband going back and
forth on this one, and I believe that Royal Caribbean,
this is my opinion that they're wrong, that the family
has a right to sue them. You know why, I
believe that, how do y'all know there were thirty three
(13:40):
drinks served? And I feel like a bartender at least
I would think Now, maybe I'm wrong that generally bartenders
stop people who have had too much or they feel
like have had too much a drink, you know what
I'm saying. Yeah, he was drunk. You can tell by
(14:01):
the videos that they posted that the news station has
he was drunk.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Thirty three drinks.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
So not only was he drunk, but then he gets
tackled on the cruise. So my husband thinks, no, he he,
it's all he said something like it was. It's a
It's almost like eating. You can't stop people from from eating. Uh,
you know, and something happens and then nah, it's different. It's different. Mmm,
(14:38):
it's different. It's different. An alcohol is like a drug.
You're just serving them up, serving them up. Uh uh
you go forward, family, go for it, y'all. Tell me
(15:00):
what y'all think about all this stuff. Got an email
here for mister Whitney. He says it should be three accounts,
one for the bills, one for him and one for her.
That's how I did it when I was married. Mmm. Okay,
all right, now you know, all right, y'all can tap
in on that iHeartRadio app or email me Stormy t
at my w d i a dot com and let's
(15:22):
go to the phones and see what you're talking about today.
W D I A hello.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Storm YEP. I agree with you.
Speaker 9 (15:30):
Go for family is because.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
Look at it makes me think of that movie I
were looking at.
Speaker 10 (15:33):
Car so story is siding with so Drop. You were
talking all kind of crap and they shot them. But
you know something, Storm with someone got medical issues that
you don't know about it, and they getting drunk and
you want to be with situating like that because they
can die on you at.
Speaker 3 (15:51):
What you be doing physically, you know.
Speaker 11 (15:54):
So I go with your family on that wrong. The
next thing you're dealing with this husband that's spending it
the wife's money. Look this money that this woman got, Man.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
You don't spend none of it.
Speaker 7 (16:12):
You spend your own money.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
I wish I could talk to their husband and.
Speaker 11 (16:15):
Let him know you don't spend none what your wife's got,
none of it.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
You make your own moneys them on.
Speaker 12 (16:25):
I don't want to.
Speaker 9 (16:26):
Say what today. I mean.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
You know, if you want to do something, you okay,
but you don't.
Speaker 13 (16:30):
Be paying your wife or nothing.
Speaker 11 (16:32):
I wouldn't even have a sign of a bank account
with my wife and I have my own.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
That's what being a man here.
Speaker 14 (16:40):
Don't ask your wife, with your girlfriend anybody for any money.
Speaker 12 (16:44):
Female, what's wrong with your brother's out there?
Speaker 1 (16:47):
Y'all?
Speaker 3 (16:48):
That's crazy doing it. That's all I got to say.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
That, all right.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
Uh, I appreciate you, towny, and thank you so much
for doing that.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
Okay, w D I A hello, they go pay safe?
What's up?
Speaker 4 (17:04):
PC?
Speaker 13 (17:06):
Not saying much? What about your stormy man?
Speaker 1 (17:08):
You know, just up in here trying to keep the
lights on.
Speaker 15 (17:11):
Oh, really, you're doing a great job at it. It's
getting call enough.
Speaker 13 (17:14):
You're gonna have to keep them on. Not only gonna
keep them light on, keep the heat on as well.
He's starting. Good afpendon to you.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
Thank you, and good afternoon to you.
Speaker 15 (17:21):
All right, good afternoon to your college the listener, So
real quick, the stormy I'm going to answer your question
about the guy because I read that story about maybe
about early in the week or sometime last week when
it first came out. Let me say that their first
dealing with the wife who's talking about us spending money. Uh,
the best thing to do. You both have a joint account,
(17:42):
and she has her own personal account, he has his
own person account. That way you can take the money
out of that account. The joint account is for everything
concerning the household. I know women love to spend money.
Men like to spend money too, So a long we
take care of the household. First spend your part of it,
because in us part and everything that's on cadogic.
Speaker 13 (18:02):
Second, we're talking about the gentlemen that died on.
Speaker 7 (18:04):
This hill cruise.
Speaker 15 (18:05):
Now, being a person who's cruised over sixty times, they
call us a selling sign card that they give you
and on this hill card is going to give you
your room number, and it's.
Speaker 13 (18:16):
Going to let let let the person know.
Speaker 15 (18:19):
Anything you purchase on that cruise ship, you can purchase
it through this hill card.
Speaker 13 (18:23):
It's almost like a credit card.
Speaker 15 (18:24):
Looks like a credit card, but it's but and it
operates like that. And when every time when that gentleman
went up to the bar to make a purchase, they.
Speaker 13 (18:32):
Had to swipe that card, so he's they had to swipe.
Speaker 15 (18:35):
It thirty three times, so they knew how many times
this man has had a drink and everything. So that's
how they they got that on there. Now you're talking
about on on a selling sign cards.
Speaker 13 (18:48):
It's not up to the bartenders that I know of.
Maybe it is.
Speaker 15 (18:52):
They want people to have a good time and they're
going to drink, and some people hold their drink more
than others.
Speaker 13 (18:59):
But what thing you left out?
Speaker 15 (19:01):
When they tackled this guy to the ground, they also
sedated him. Oh yeah, yeah, they're pepper strayed.
Speaker 13 (19:09):
So all these things with all the bodies.
Speaker 15 (19:11):
On top of him being sedated and pepper sprayed contribute
to his death and everything. Now you asked me, uh,
should should walal Caribia has been penalized behind him or
to a certain degree gets because they called the life
or that their man as lo long around. So yeah,
but you have made a statement and I should have
(19:32):
wrote it down. But there's something that's dealing with this here.
But they card is going to dictate everything that this
man purchased or a person purchased on a cruise ship.
So they got a record of everything.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Okay, okay, so that's how the family knows. Hold on, caller,
I think what it is. I've said that it's like
it's it's it's different from like eating, you know, and
somebody because you know, you can't you don't know if
somebody's food. Generally people don't just you know, pass out
from being full. But alcohol is different right yet, Yeah,
(20:06):
that's different. You know that man was drunk. Why you
keep serving an alcohol?
Speaker 6 (20:12):
Well?
Speaker 9 (20:12):
Can I be honest with you?
Speaker 15 (20:13):
Storming on cruisers and I just seen people get what
they call space drunk and still want to drink. Some
people can hold their liquor, some people can't. And a
lot of time when the people get on these air cruises,
they let their hair down. They want to enjoy themselves.
So the things that they don't do back home now
they get an opportunity to do it on this cruise
and nobody have to worry about going back and telling
(20:35):
their job this, that and the other. I mean, I
just seen it happen many times. I mean I could
get quick astup when I'll leave you with this, I
have seen some of the most gorgeous women I have
seen some woman who not so gorgeous. When you go
up to that what they call the Leito deck, that's
what the pool, the food and everything happens to be.
And they dress provocatins and you wouldn't believe you were there.
(20:56):
If you ever done a cruise, you just seen some
of this most skippiest outfit on on women. I'm not
gonna say no because I'm sitting there and enjoying the scenery.
But a lot of times they let their hair down.
This is this opportunity for them to sit back and
enjoy themselves.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Now, I got your Prince Charles, thank you so much
for calling in. Listen, I gotta go to break, y'all.
Hold on, We're gonna come back and talk to you
on the way. I got one line open if you
want to give in nine oh one five three five,
nine three four two eight hundred five zero three nine
three four two eight three three five three five nine
three four two. Will be back in a moment. You
can tap in on that iHeartRadio app or email me
(21:33):
Stormy T at my dowd i a dot com. Let
me say congratulations. First off, next hour, I'm gonna be
giving somebody, not next hour, but probably in the six
o'clock hour. Go to for next hour. Two, I'm gonna
give somebody a chance to go to the will of fortune. Okay,
uh so stick around for that. Second off, y'all know
how we've been doing this Grant your Christmas wish contest?
(21:57):
Uh huh, Well, somebody from Memphis got their Christmas wish
granted okay, so Merry Christmas to Kira. She just had
a Christmas wish granted in that contest. It's gonna run
through December twelfth, two, by the way, so two more
days to tell us what Christmas wish is.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
This is her Christmas wish, she said.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
I'm a single mom of two children, a twelve year
old daughter and a nine month old son. We just
moved into our new home and I'm currently working on
getting my life back on track after being homeless from
job loss. So I am starting fresh for the three
of us, a new beginning. I wish for a new
furniture set for our new home, and I would appreciate
(22:41):
any help I may receive. God bless you know what
they did I heart radio or what we did, iHeart
Radio and State Farm. She got a Christmas wish granted.
They gave a three thousand dollars and a praise goes
right there.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
I ain't got no praise music.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
But I can you to something where you can get
some braise music. Our sister station, Hallelujah FM. They're getting
ready for their holiday concert with Grammy winner Jonathan Mcquinnole's
It's going to be Friday, December nineteenth, seven pm. Brown Baptist.
Go get your tickets now. Okay, Hallelujah FM dot com.
(23:20):
There you go. Now, let's get back to it. I'm
going to read some emails in a moment, but I'm
gonna get back to these phone calls and see what
you are talking about today.
Speaker 16 (23:28):
W d I A Hello, good evening, Stormy. How you doing.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
I'm doing great, Jackson and yourself.
Speaker 16 (23:37):
Good?
Speaker 9 (23:37):
Yeah, I did what you said.
Speaker 17 (23:39):
I I think it's a computer thing on w DIA
dot com or iHeartRadio dot com. So I was listing
via the computers.
Speaker 8 (23:51):
Wow, I was listening beautiful, Thank you so very much.
Speaker 16 (23:55):
Okay, yes, it's only three points of the listens those here.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
You know, when a person is killed unjustifiably or of neglect,
I can understand the parents or the children getting paid
but are compensated. But when you say the family is suing,
who is the family?
Speaker 7 (24:20):
Who?
Speaker 16 (24:20):
Who's actually suing Royal.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Caribbean, I'll see.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
Connie Connie Aguilar issuing the fiance of the man who died,
or the.
Speaker 16 (24:36):
Fiance shouldn't get anything because they wasn't married.
Speaker 4 (24:40):
Okay, Now, first of all, I don't believe they should
get anything.
Speaker 16 (24:44):
From the company, the Royal Caribbean.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
She was with it all that cruise though.
Speaker 4 (24:50):
If are they're gonna sue anybody, they need to sue
the crew for allegedly doing whatever they did. Now sue
the crew. Now, the CEO of the Caribbean Cruise Line
had no idea what was going on, so you can't
sue his company.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
But the crew worked for him.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
No, no, no, no, they they I'm sure they act
him alone. I'm sure that the CEO didn't give orders
to do this guy this way. Plus let me let
me ask you this storm me. I'm gonna put this
in perspective. Michael Jackson and Dr Murray, Dr Murray, Now
(25:34):
Dr Murray, I mean, uh, Michael acts for medicine and
Dr Murray supplied.
Speaker 16 (25:41):
Who do you blame.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
Dr Murray he's the doctor.
Speaker 16 (25:46):
Well, but Michael Jackson was paying him.
Speaker 9 (25:48):
Of course.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
Dr Murray got four years in prison, so he was
prolled after two years and this license revoked. But if
Michael Jackson says, prescribe me to medicine, but don't go
on there, anybody would be anybody.
Speaker 16 (26:04):
With sense would prescribe it to him.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Yeah, but that's your fault. If you decide to do it.
That's your fault. That's like the guy from Friends. You know,
they're they're now arresting people that gave him drugs. So
you saying, what are you trying to say that it
was Michael Jackson's fault that he Derek?
Speaker 2 (26:21):
What're you trying to say?
Speaker 1 (26:22):
Jackson?
Speaker 16 (26:22):
Come on, now, I'm saying it's not doctor Mary's fault,
because he was he was his doctor.
Speaker 9 (26:28):
Come on, jack he said, he said, prescribe me some.
Speaker 16 (26:32):
Medicine, and he prescribed it.
Speaker 4 (26:35):
He didn't tell Michael to abuse it, okay, And.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
But he had to administer it.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
So Michael couldn't abuse something that he couldn't administer. It
had to be administered by somebody. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
So make it make sense, jack It make it makes sense.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
I think he did. He probably administered himself that that medicine.
But uh, you can't. The cruise line, bottom line, and
the last point before I let you go.
Speaker 16 (27:07):
Parents, I tried to get this out yesterday.
Speaker 4 (27:10):
Parents, if you have bad children, there's been bad all year,
do not give them anything for Christmas. Parents of bad children,
and you know what bad children are.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
I got you Jackson. Thank you so much for calling
in shall Oh my goodness, there it goes by Jackson.
All right, a couple of emails here before we move
on Kathy emails. She said, even in greetings Stormy, you
absolutely did not tell your friend anything wrong. In a
case like that, lady is in, I would definitely open
(27:44):
up a second account. Not for biased reasons, however, it
would actually be for security reasons for both parties. The
husband has been spending money for so long that he
actually sees nothing wrong with it because she has not
been open and eyes us about how she's feeling and
her financial situation. Being the breadwinner of the family certainly
(28:06):
takes a lot of budgeting and a conversation must be
had that husband just needs to wake up, needs a
wake up call.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
Love you, Stormy, love you back.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
African consultant says, let's see here a couple emails. The
Democrats will have a field of candidates to appeal to
white women, Hispanics, black men and women will be Rock
and Michelle endorse Kamala. I wonder why she is coming
to Memphis and will she be visiting Wdia to address
black folks. He also says, I didn't say that you
(28:39):
keep pushing Kamala, I said, the Democrats, And yeah, I
went back and looked at his message. I guess I
thought when you you know, I took it personal. I
took it personal. I'm sorry about that.
Speaker 7 (28:49):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
I apologize, but I did.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
Let's see, most wives are not going to agree with
the husband having his own bank account. Wives want to
monitor the husband's money so that there so that the
side chicks get nothing. Side chicks don't need no money.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
What is you talking about?
Speaker 18 (29:08):
W D I A hello, storing me?
Speaker 19 (29:11):
Hang up on Jackson?
Speaker 1 (29:17):
Oh I did?
Speaker 2 (29:23):
I tried you.
Speaker 14 (29:25):
Yeah, if you have, if you are a doctor, you
have the responsibility. That is your responsibility to do that.
Speaker 19 (29:35):
Money shouldn't make you do it.
Speaker 8 (29:36):
It's not okay.
Speaker 19 (29:37):
Because somebody offers you money.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
That's right, Okay, No, that's all.
Speaker 14 (29:42):
I'm always listening.
Speaker 2 (29:44):
But hang up. I know that's right.
Speaker 12 (29:49):
All right, you too.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
Thank you so much for calling and for listening. All right,
let's go back to the phones. W D I A hello.
I can't only Clyde, what's going on?
Speaker 20 (30:03):
You had the smartest man on the radio, mister Jackson?
Speaker 16 (30:06):
My right?
Speaker 1 (30:07):
What okay?
Speaker 20 (30:12):
I'm gonna send very ride in storm it's just as
much as fault.
Speaker 16 (30:17):
It's the cruise ship.
Speaker 21 (30:19):
Come on, because Storman, if you know your.
Speaker 20 (30:24):
Huband your hood and a boyfriend or drinker, you need
to control that drink.
Speaker 21 (30:28):
You can Hey, hey, you don't have enough.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
Are you gonna control a drinker? Seriously?
Speaker 20 (30:33):
Come on, well glad you said that, so poin in
the world that is that ship gonna control.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
The drink and stop giving him drinks?
Speaker 20 (30:43):
How are you gonna do this so I might go
and name and buy a drink for get to them.
You cannot hold that ship responsible for your hooks.
Speaker 3 (30:53):
He's a grown man.
Speaker 20 (30:55):
He made a decision, So I don't feel sorry for
him and Storm. When it comes down to the bank account,
I'm not gonna have no Saran bank account with nobody
that loves spend money.
Speaker 16 (31:10):
You're gonna have.
Speaker 7 (31:10):
Your account and the the bill.
Speaker 9 (31:12):
You're responsive for on my have this account on.
Speaker 20 (31:15):
My account, and I'm responding for these bills and they're
gonna be that on that. I'm not gonna I'm not
gonna gonna have a third account.
Speaker 21 (31:23):
And then this person because when you got.
Speaker 20 (31:24):
A person that's king with money, uh huh no, mm hmm.
I ain't doing nothing like that.
Speaker 21 (31:32):
Now you got a woman, you got.
Speaker 20 (31:33):
A woman that that that that that that that don't
mess all money, I don't mind.
Speaker 6 (31:38):
I'll have on any account.
Speaker 20 (31:41):
See I got I got my account.
Speaker 21 (31:43):
My wife got her account on the bill the only
bill she.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
Was sponsing for the bill that she may So you're
saying that split she should just you know, have an
account of her own.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
Have an only account.
Speaker 21 (31:57):
They don't get his only account.
Speaker 20 (31:59):
And and and and she be respons for these deals.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
And he responds for.
Speaker 7 (32:03):
The old deal, got it?
Speaker 20 (32:05):
And that way that way you don't need no man.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
That mass not money stock, got it?
Speaker 20 (32:11):
No, no, no, no no and uh.
Speaker 21 (32:14):
And when it comes down to jump and red, he
shouldn't about.
Speaker 20 (32:18):
He shouldn't have game on no ticket. Well, see when
you try to be nice, storm, people take to get
your niceness for time for weakness. So then these people
so used to getting free stuff, do any think that
he's suposted to give free stuff having these folks when
they when need when the turches and stuff have these giveaways, food.
Speaker 13 (32:39):
Giveaways, have it on.
Speaker 20 (32:40):
Folks in line don't even need the storm. And the
old people that need it can't.
Speaker 21 (32:45):
Get it because they ain't got no trasportation to get there.
Speaker 2 (32:48):
My ma, Ma, Ma man.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
Hold on, Clyde, Coller, hold on for me, hold on, caller,
hold on, caller, Clyde. I got a story for you. First,
I want what were you just telling me the people? Okay,
the I want to give you a church story.
Speaker 2 (33:02):
Listen to this.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
You went to church and then I'm really gonna I
was gonna tell this story. And this is for you, okay,
embraced church. This is a church. Let me see in
in in our country. Yeah, I'm not I don't see
exactly where it is at any rate. You know what
(33:23):
they did, Clide seventy thousand dollars to their congregation during
a reverse offering. You know what they did, Clide, They
encouraged their church members to use the cash for acts
of generosity in the community.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
Look at God.
Speaker 9 (33:48):
I think there's another thing when God didn't do this.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
That's not as see. I thought you the.
Speaker 21 (33:57):
Right given to the command.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
Wait a minute, they don't pay taxes.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
Churches don't. Churches don't pay taxes.
Speaker 1 (34:05):

Speaker 1 (34:17):
Storm Clyde, Clyde, fix your mouth to say, look at God.
Speaker 20 (34:23):
I just said, it's something behind it.
Speaker 21 (34:33):
And one more thing.
Speaker 16 (34:37):
God didn't get that money. The people spent that money.
Take care of.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
Storm Oh Clyde, Bye Clyde, Tash, I should have hung

the Seas served Virgil more than two dozen drinks, after
which he got lost. He got lost and became agitated
trying to find his room. That's when crew members tackled
him and stood on him with their full weight. The
lawsuit charges they subjected him to prolonged prone restraint, compressed
(35:33):
his back and torso, and impaired his breathing. At the
Captain's request. On this cruise ship, crew members administered a
sedative and sprayed him with pepper spray. This treatment led
to respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, and Virgil's death.

Speaker 14 (37:24):
Anybody knew Uncle Lee was drinking before you all left town.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
You're supposed to say, hey, Uncle Lee.
Speaker 14 (37:32):
You know Uncle Lee gonna drink to everything.

got mad. See I didn't ask for your last night.
Speaker 19 (38:27):
No, we're not gonna be playing these.
Speaker 14 (38:29):
Games where you know you got your little cown and
I got mad.
Speaker 3 (38:34):
No, whoever can handle the money.
Speaker 14 (38:37):
It's the why gonna be in charge of the count.
Speaker 1 (38:40):
It's just that simple. When you get folks come.
Speaker 8 (38:42):
Back where you know we got this here seeing.
Speaker 14 (38:46):
People need to stop looking at other people glorwy and
you get your house. I don't care unless you get
be U say their money? Why are you getting the
house based on two people? Ain't called prime example, people
losing their job. Remember the folks all up in John
(39:07):
Deal crime saying, oh, me and my wife, we don't
know how we gonna pay billre y'all didn't have a plane.
It's one thing until I leave this world storm that
I believe in a plane and a rainy day phone. See,
I don't care what what you got. I'm doing me.
See people need to do them because it's coming. You
(39:32):
ain't found nothing.
Speaker 3 (39:33):
Yet, but you got a person done took off.
Speaker 14 (39:37):
A house note and it takes two people to pay it.
Fox yourself because you're the one looking at it, looking
at what.
Speaker 9 (39:44):
Oh you know they doing goods?
Speaker 3 (39:46):
Oh they're going over here.
Speaker 14 (39:48):
Yes what when they rainy day come, you could sit
back and cross your legs and do that. Lady D
When I was young, I didn't have nobody me.
Speaker 3 (40:01):

somebody is. Thank you, lady. I appreciate you calling in
w D.
Speaker 21 (40:28):
I A hello.
Speaker 19 (40:32):
How are you today?
Speaker 2 (40:33):
I'm fabulous, beautiful marriagi.
Speaker 12 (40:35):
How are you getting good?
Speaker 6 (40:37):
Gorgeous?
Speaker 2 (40:38):
Ma'am?
Speaker 8 (40:41):
I mean, well, ain't gona thank me? Girls. Your picture
is obvious, Honey, is obvious.
Speaker 12 (40:45):
I didn't realize you.
Speaker 23 (40:48):
And I saw you.
Speaker 1 (40:49):
Okay, let's stop. But seriously, I.
Speaker 12 (40:50):
Was like, listen to a person who has been on
hold and supper times the cruise ship that thee hundred
percent responsible on more than just one level. One level
is the way they held him. If you're going to
have a cruise ship, you have to be able to
use a therapeutic hold.
Speaker 15 (41:11):
If you're gonna hold.
Speaker 12 (41:12):
Somebody who's intoxicated for a danger to others in themselves,
that's the first thing. The second thing is they give
you their card and when you use their car like
Prince Charles saying your picture is attached to their car. Now,
are they doing it for your safety? No, they're doing
it because they don't want you to share their card
with other people. But by doing that, they know exactly
they know exactly how many rooms you have.
Speaker 8 (41:33):
That's number two.
Speaker 13 (41:34):
And the third thing is a lot of third things.
Speaker 12 (41:36):
But so yeah, now a hundred responsible for that, not no.
Speaker 19 (41:40):
One else but them.
Speaker 12 (41:42):
It was something I don't want to say why they
response was one was what the way they held them?
The uh the now ob liqually they starved them.
Speaker 13 (41:49):
So yes to me.
Speaker 12 (41:50):
For someone who's been working in the restaurant for over
thirty years, the boss header is one hundred percent responses.
Speaker 1 (41:56):
Let me talk you, let me ask you. This marriage
So bartenders, I feel like a bartender is kind of
like a barber doctor. You take on certain responsibilities when
you become a bartender. It's just me this, you do
no and the server.
Speaker 12 (42:12):
The server is too. You have to take a course,
a class before you can be certified to even serve alcohol,
and part of that class is telling you that if
you see someone that's florry at the mouth or drooling
as it's read, you got sciences to look for.
Speaker 19 (42:26):
Is you're responsibility to.
Speaker 12 (42:27):
Stop serving them or next you can be sound linger
responsible and financially responsible. So for yes, they responsible on
all level, they tell this man on all types levels.
Speaker 13 (42:37):
Anyway, this myday.
Speaker 9 (42:38):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (42:39):
Let me in appreciate that narrative. Thank you for calling in.
Yeah you hey, hey, we had a spirited conversation about
that and my husband and I think maybe hearing the
rest of the story, I think maybe he will now
agree with me. Why because your wife is always right? Okay, okay,
(43:06):
all right, I'm just missing with you. Anyway, let's see
Clyde says, miss Stormy. It looks like they got them
a lawsuit. Try to tell you this. African consultant says,
the cruise ship line is going to get the pants.
Speaker 2 (43:17):
Suit off them.
Speaker 1 (43:19):
This case may also be a landmark case where they
might begin to have armed security personnel and holding sales
on cruise ships. As that's a lot of people on
those ships drinking and partying. You need a regulator on board. Hmm. Interesting,
old on caller. Let's go back to the phones. Wd
(43:40):
I A hello, Hello. Let's go back to the phone
wd A.
Speaker 19 (43:46):
Hello, Hey, Hey there, how you doing Elly Harris?
Speaker 1 (43:54):
Hey, mister Harry how you feeling today?
Speaker 19 (43:58):
Wow, that's the contract I can get to get a
picture with you?
Speaker 2 (44:01):
Nothing?
Speaker 19 (44:02):
What in the Yeah, I come all the way from
California to be at the wd I a show and
didn't get a picture, didn't get a T shirt?
Speaker 6 (44:13):
What?
Speaker 1 (44:14):
Man? You didn't get no picture here? You should have.
You should have waited a round because I was. I was.
I mean, I don't know if you were able to,
but yeah, I was there till the very end, till
late after a lot of folks left, I was still there.
Speaker 19 (44:28):
Yeah. I waited until you walked off the stage and
then nobody said nothing. I didn't know what was gonna
get to me go around.
Speaker 1 (44:36):
But next time you come, you come on up to me,
Come on up to me and say hello, and let's
take a picture. What was that?
Speaker 6 (44:46):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (44:47):
Yeah, I'm saying you when I get off the stage,
you are welcome to come to the stage. You're welcome
to come to the stage and come say hello.
Speaker 19 (44:56):
Well, anyway, you know when I get on.
Speaker 2 (44:58):
So next time, next time, hopefully you'll come back.
Speaker 9 (45:01):
Okay, Yeah, let me get my main point out for it.
Speaker 19 (45:08):
I was listening to stan Vale this morning, and uh,
a guy called in. I don't call his name, call
it in and Q's denner of calling people names. So
I've been listening to your show for a while and
Dinner just started to call the people. Then they started
called him names. They were giving all his slenderous epithets,
(45:29):
and I can't believe they do that, you know. So
I had to call in and say, wait, man, no
cute dinner or that. It was the other people that
started calling him names.
Speaker 1 (45:38):
Yeah, he got he got call some He got called
some names, now that's for sure. He got called some things.
Speaker 19 (45:46):
Yeah, I mean horrible things about the health and so forth.
You know, I said, cow, can people be.
Speaker 9 (45:53):
So low down, you know and institute John the.
Speaker 7 (45:56):
Same way.
Speaker 19 (45:58):
Black people go down. Stop, you gotta you gotta respect
your brothers. You gotta respect your black men, and stop
putting it down. We need all the help we can get.
And it's twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (46:14):
Yeah, yeah, let each other up, not bring them down.
Speaker 19 (46:19):
So society is trying to trust even more. Okay, I
just want to put that out there because apparently we
haven't learned yet. You know that theyn't call him stuff.
That's childhood playground.
Speaker 16 (46:33):
Miss.
Speaker 19 (46:34):
We've grown up.
Speaker 13 (46:35):
We don't play that.
Speaker 1 (46:38):
I got you.
Speaker 13 (46:40):
Try to like the way you talk.
Speaker 19 (46:42):
I like the way you're working, no doubt, Come.
Speaker 1 (46:45):
On here, no doubt, Yes sir, yes, thank you. Well,
I appreciate you calling in and I look forward to
seeing you in the future at one of our Okay, wow,
so I hope so too. I hope so too.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
All right, bye bye.
Speaker 1 (47:08):
Yeah. I almost told him he needs to take that
conversation to fifty cent and Marlon Wayans right now. Ooh
they going at it on social media and fifty cent
in jah rule wo chat they're going at it on
social media. What in the world, I don't know. I
(47:28):
really don't WD. I A hello, how you doing?
Speaker 2 (47:34):
Hey there, I'm good, Black Conservative. How are you? I'm
doing good.
Speaker 7 (47:40):
You go get your free ticket today now at.
Speaker 1 (47:45):
I'm afraid I was a little late.
Speaker 2 (47:47):
Hold on caller.
Speaker 1 (47:48):
I was a little late because those people were lined
up out there, and uh, they got them all. But
you know what, the Grizzlies. Let me take that back.
The Grizzlies actually sent me a pair of tickets.
Speaker 23 (48:01):
Okay, yeah, well, I want to make sure the people
who got them tickets was one who can't afford the
regular price.
Speaker 1 (48:14):
Well, now, John mored didn't say who could have him.
He said, I'm just giving them away. He didn't say
you if you broke or if you rich, you can't
handle tickets. He said, I'm giving two hundred and fifty
tickets away.
Speaker 9 (48:29):
And come on now to where to do?
Speaker 23 (48:32):
Middle class individuals like myself and franchards and staying and
uh them he and Chicago U coming in? Where to do?
Individuals like who make over seventy thousand a year should
not be standing in that line.
Speaker 2 (48:51):
If you say so, Black conservatives, all.
Speaker 23 (48:54):
The folks standing in that line. I know some of them.
Folks can afford them. Them tickets ain't that expensive. They
fo five one hundred dollars for a ticket there.
Speaker 1 (49:03):
Well, some of the tickets are twelve dollars.
Speaker 23 (49:05):
So you shouldn't be buying on twelve thousand dollars ticket.
If you you making over I would say over fifty
thousand a year.
Speaker 1 (49:17):
What are you saying? You're saying you shouldn't be in
the line. If you're making that.
Speaker 23 (49:21):
Should be in that shouldn't be in that line. If you,
lady d shouldn't be in that line. Uh nurse there today?
Why are you.
Speaker 16 (49:32):
Lead?
Speaker 23 (49:33):
I know, I know America ain't in that line.
Speaker 1 (49:36):
They are balling, you know, they're balling out of control.
But but leave them women alone.
Speaker 21 (49:40):
Now, I'm just saying, I want to.
Speaker 23 (49:43):
Make sure that uh these were all middle class uh
wd A listeners wasn't in that line today and uh
blocking the line so looked at it couldn't get in
it looked at it should have been in that line.
Speaker 1 (49:56):
All right, there you go, all right, conservative, I thought
you were doing kind of kind of good until you
just wanted you to have to do that. I'm gonna
let you go. All right, good talking to you. Good talk.
Speaker 2 (50:08):
W D I A hello, Hey, what's up?
Speaker 1 (50:12):
Common man?
Speaker 2 (50:13):
I can't call it.
Speaker 9 (50:15):
Oh yeah, just let her just let it roll in,
let it go.
Speaker 20 (50:18):
Right, Uh right, okay, Uh now, call your friend back
tonight and tell her not to hide an account from.
Speaker 9 (50:27):
Her husband, because that will be just.
Speaker 7 (50:28):
Creating another problem if it ever came to the light.
Speaker 9 (50:31):
So if necessary, then just get.
Speaker 7 (50:34):
Separate accounts in one account for the household, for the.
Speaker 20 (50:37):
Welfare of the household, so anything.
Speaker 1 (50:40):
So you're trying to say the same thing, hold on,
call it that you chairing the same thing that the
emailer said, have three accounts, one for the household a three,
one for him, one.
Speaker 5 (50:49):
For you, yes, yeah, and that way when he spent
his own money, well then he's just done.
Speaker 9 (50:56):
You can have a separate money, you know how she.
Speaker 7 (50:58):
Liked to, you know, but don't.
Speaker 5 (50:59):
Don't had anything, because when you start having.
Speaker 7 (51:01):
Secrets, they create more problems, you know.
Speaker 9 (51:04):
So it's a better way to handle it.
Speaker 5 (51:06):
About this cruise, about this guy, the biggest problem they have,
The biggest problem they have, in my opinion, is that
this thing was ruled a homicide. And of course, right,
so when you're talking about the spreading, was that necessary?
And then the compression you restricted the airflow like I'm.
Speaker 9 (51:24):
Standing on his yah, right, So that's.
Speaker 7 (51:30):
The biggest problem right there.
Speaker 5 (51:31):
Somebody is probably gonna, you know, face.
Speaker 9 (51:33):
Some criminal charges, and of course the CRUs the cruise.
Speaker 7 (51:37):
Is gonna be here liable.
Speaker 5 (51:39):
You have to be responsible when you're serving people alcohol,
regardless where is it, even at your house.
Speaker 7 (51:46):
Do you know that if.
Speaker 5 (51:47):
You had a party at your house and you serve
me alcohol, I get intoxicated, have a rick on my
way home and kill somebody. Do you know that you
could be hell liable for that person's death. About you
serving me alcohol?
Speaker 7 (51:59):
It your house.
Speaker 9 (52:01):
Now, I will do that.
Speaker 2 (52:02):
But but I hear you.
Speaker 5 (52:05):
Yeah you know so uh the alcohol that you can
even get alcohol poison but drink drinking so much A yes,
you know, but yeah, and so the biggest problem is
the the homicide. That's the biggest problem. The alcoholist is
just as bad. But I don't see how you're going
(52:27):
to defend the homicide. The Medican examine rule, the homo sad.
Speaker 7 (52:31):
So yeah, uh, Now.
Speaker 5 (52:33):
You say the pian.
Speaker 16 (52:35):
Sue, I don't.
Speaker 9 (52:37):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (52:39):
Was on the trip with him, and yeah, she she
is suing, but she wasn't the only person with him.
Speaker 2 (52:47):
The family was as well, right, because.
Speaker 5 (52:50):
When you when it comes to a silver suit, only
certain people have the right to sue, and depending on
certain scenarios, it depends on some different things.
Speaker 2 (53:00):
So she married, she was with him though on the cruise.
Speaker 7 (53:04):
It don't matter, and she was.
Speaker 20 (53:06):
Laws are in place, laws are in place when it
comes to silver suits. I can be with you out,
that's like me and you being together on the cruise.
They don't give me the right to suit. If something
happened to you, you better have some legal grounds.
Speaker 9 (53:19):
No, no, somebody, somebody's gonna have.
Speaker 7 (53:21):
The right to do it. It don't mean I have
the right.
Speaker 9 (53:24):
So so if you was married.
Speaker 7 (53:26):
Your husband would had the right.
Speaker 9 (53:27):
If you wasn't married, your children could sue. So it
goes like the next the next.
Speaker 5 (53:32):
Kids, basically, you know what I'm saying. So anyway, but
of course the cus the crew's.
Speaker 7 (53:37):
Gonna be hell loud, no doubt. Mm hmmm, yep. But
that's all I got start.
Speaker 1 (53:45):
I appreciate you, all right, coming man, Yeah, I was.
I'm looking at this story, okay, so thank you for
calling in. Okay. The video was shot by passenger Chris
Christopher McHale pained by k T TV of Los Angeles.
It shows Virgil in a narrow hallway uh kicking a door,
(54:09):
and a report said Virgil screamed profanities, threatened to kill
Michael and crew members and chase them down a hallway.
Speaker 2 (54:18):
I don't believe it. Show me the video. I don't
believe it.
Speaker 1 (54:28):
The video capture security guards and others eventually holding Virgil
down on the floor. See there's video of him kicking
the door and that's where they got him. So come on, now,
come on, main, make it make sense. Come on, w
DI I a hold on w DI I A hello, Hello,
(54:53):
how are you doing? I'm good.
Speaker 3 (54:54):
How are you.
Speaker 1 (54:58):
On the air this bird legs? It would be me, Yes,
what's going on? Bird legs? Listen.
Speaker 18 (55:05):
I was tied up, black Conservative, I believe, was saying
about if you can afford the ticket. But I promise you.
Had I not been tied up today, I definitely would
have been up there in that line.
Speaker 13 (55:13):
You're gonna use your tickets.
Speaker 3 (55:15):
You're gonna use your ticket.
Speaker 1 (55:16):
I don't know. I don't know because I'm not doing
my Friday night thing anymore right now, so so I
might because Friday night I ain't got nothing to do.
Speaker 3 (55:26):
Okay, okay, but check this out.
Speaker 18 (55:30):
Like I said, I was tied up. But I heard
something about a man that went overboard on the ship
or something like that.
Speaker 2 (55:35):
No, he didn't go overboard.
Speaker 1 (55:36):
He was he was drunk, obviously, and he was kicking
some doors because he got lost on the ship and
couldn't find his room.
Speaker 2 (55:44):
Oh my goodness, I guess nobody. Yes they, Oh my god,
oh lord.
Speaker 18 (55:51):
I'm so sorry to hear that. But you know, talk
speaking of a bartender. I used to bartend. Oh my god,
back in the eighties that beat blues that at sixty
South Front.
Speaker 13 (56:01):
They're no longer.
Speaker 18 (56:02):
There, and it was a tourist attraction. Maul Ranging, me
and Collie Ruby Wilson.
Speaker 24 (56:07):
We all worked there together.
Speaker 18 (56:08):
I was an assistant manager, flash bartender, waites whatever was necessary.
And when I saw that my client, I said what
I called it, My client was getting intoxicated. I wanted
it back. I didn't charge him like that, but I
wanted it back. And that's one of the knowledge that
you need to have as a bartender to start, and
they never know the difference, but as long as you're
(56:28):
not robbing them, and I didn't do that. But that
was one satura of the place to work at, I
tell you, And you know a gimmick that I had thorny.
They were twenty five dollars per person. Most times it
was five men and twenty five dollars on counter, and
they would bet that I could not put a cherry
in my mouth and tied up.
Speaker 13 (56:48):
You think I made so.
Speaker 18 (56:49):
Much money, I tell you, I think Ben Johnson said
she used to be able to do that. But I
made a lot of money. But one thing about it,
as a bartender, you got to start watering back when
you see that they are getting intoxicated and sold a
black conservative.
Speaker 14 (57:03):
Every ticket, every show, just about his.
Speaker 3 (57:05):
Being over the last thirty forty years.
Speaker 18 (57:07):
I wont on WD I A and had Like I stated, Now,
if you got any tickets Black and Serve, I'm glad
to take.
Speaker 3 (57:14):
One and another one. Last thing, another thing.
Speaker 18 (57:17):
I can't stand as a man to tell me you
don't need no money. Don't worry about what I need.
Speaker 3 (57:23):
I can't stand a cheap man.
Speaker 18 (57:25):
Yes I can afford it, but but I want you
to buy have a good one.
Speaker 13 (57:28):
Stomach to your listen.
Speaker 1 (57:31):
To your perfect Thank you so man of them tickets.
Thank you for goding in bird legs. Appreciate you. Now
we're gonna take a break and come back and talk
to you guys. I see you on Hold. What's up, Red,
I'm gonna get you out the gate.
Speaker 2 (57:44):
Don't move.
Speaker 1 (57:46):
Yeah, it's an interesting story and about what happened to
this man, mister Virgil on the Royal Caribbean. Reading more
and more about it, it just gets more and more interesting.
Michael m Michael Virgil. Yeah, and prayers definitely for his
(58:07):
family because I know this has to be imagine. I mean,
you go on a cruise, you you and your family,
and you planning and have a good time, you with
your fiance. They were maybe getting married when they got
back home. It ain't gonna be no wedding, so I
thought some prayers definitely go out to that family. M
(58:27):
All right, Well, you can tap in on this iHeartRadio app.

All right, Old Jackson then got into my email, he says,
a common man, stop trying to sound so smart. All
(58:50):
unknown deaths are ruled a homicide. Homicide does not mean murder.
Homicide is the umbrella that murder is under. They've come
man alone. All I got to say, mm hmm w
d I A hello me, Yes, sir, how you doing?
Speaker 6 (59:10):
Red?
Speaker 1 (59:11):
What's going on?
Speaker 6 (59:13):
Man?
Speaker 16 (59:13):
You got it?
Speaker 24 (59:14):
You got it?
Speaker 16 (59:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 24 (59:17):
I've been on the wh I've been on the phone
on whole so I forgot what I want to talk about.
One thing I do want to talk about. Why nobody
talking about that statement that y'all President made about them
African countries.
Speaker 1 (59:36):
M I did.
Speaker 9 (59:37):
Have you heard about that?
Speaker 1 (59:38):
I did, but maybe maybe Stan talked about it this morning.
You don't talk about that man much. I don't know
about that man much.
Speaker 9 (59:44):
No, he ain't talking about him, you know.
Speaker 24 (59:46):
I mean, I'm just saying, uh, I'm talking about you know,
like the Republican callers called in, they don't they haven't
said anything. He the Black Conservatives just got on there
and he didn't say.
Speaker 16 (59:58):
Anything about it, you know.
Speaker 24 (01:00:00):
And then there was a gentleman called in was saying
that the Denver don't.
Speaker 7 (01:00:03):
Call anybody names. The Denver started calling calling the.
Speaker 24 (01:00:07):
President and the Vice president everybody else names.
Speaker 9 (01:00:10):
Five six, seven.
Speaker 24 (01:00:11):
Years ago, he was calling people names, you know, saying
the same thing, you know. And I was going to
say something about the drunk guy. Uh, you know, I moved.
Speaker 9 (01:00:22):
I used to live in DC, Washington, DC.
Speaker 24 (01:00:25):
And I can't remember if the guy was a doctor
or a lawyer or something. He had on his way
home from work, he stopped in a bar and he
started drinking, and they you know, he got you drunk
and he tried to drive.
Speaker 9 (01:00:37):
Home and he ended up having.
Speaker 7 (01:00:39):
A wreck and killing somebody.
Speaker 24 (01:00:42):
They actually sued the bar and our childer and everybody else.
Speaker 19 (01:00:46):
Yes, this happened, you know, years ago.
Speaker 24 (01:00:48):
I think it was like in ninety ninety.
Speaker 9 (01:00:50):
Eight, ninety nine or something like that.
Speaker 16 (01:00:52):
But they actually.
Speaker 7 (01:00:53):
Sued the Yeah, they sued the bar.
Speaker 9 (01:00:57):
And the person that was serving alcohol.
Speaker 24 (01:01:00):
Because they knew that that guy they had sold they got.
Speaker 7 (01:01:03):
Too many drinks, you know, and he like that.
Speaker 24 (01:01:07):
He I think he had like twelve or fourteen drinks
or something like that and sitting in that bar and.
Speaker 7 (01:01:13):
He was too drunk to leave, and they let him.
Speaker 24 (01:01:16):
They kept serving him drinks and they let him leave
out of there, and he drove.
Speaker 7 (01:01:19):
And he hit some people and killed him.
Speaker 9 (01:01:21):
They sure did.
Speaker 24 (01:01:23):
And his alcohol level was, like, I mean, it was
so high that it was.
Speaker 7 (01:01:27):
Like and never been read on a whatever.
Speaker 9 (01:01:29):
They used before for real.
Speaker 2 (01:01:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:01:33):
Yeah, it sounds like that cruise ship is lible, if
you ask me. And that's what this lawsuit is saying
as well. Yeah, right, I've.
Speaker 24 (01:01:42):
Never been on a cruise. I don't really care about cruises.
I like traveling. I like traveling across the country. You know,
we do a lot of traveling. My wife and actually
and I actually just got back from a trip that
Thanksgiving weekend, we went out of town and spent four
days out of town in Texas and Oklahoma and Kansas.
(01:02:06):
We just took us a trip and just but I
mean didn't know where we was going. We just got
in the car and started driving.
Speaker 1 (01:02:11):
Oh wow.
Speaker 7 (01:02:12):
And when I got tired.
Speaker 16 (01:02:13):
I stopped there the hole.
Speaker 9 (01:02:13):
We found us a hotel.
Speaker 16 (01:02:14):
And then checked in.
Speaker 24 (01:02:16):
The next day we got up and did the same thing.
Speaker 9 (01:02:18):
Yeah, those trips are really good.
Speaker 16 (01:02:21):
Yeah it is.
Speaker 1 (01:02:22):
And you know, getting out and seeing what's happening in
other places and other towns and stuff like that is
really good as well, because you see, you know, what's
happening in Memphis ain't happening everywhere. You know, a lot
of people don't have the experiences that we have here
because they ain't got what's going on down here.
Speaker 2 (01:02:43):
But thank you, Red, I appreciate your you know way.
Speaker 16 (01:02:46):
A lot of people.
Speaker 24 (01:02:47):
I have a friend own a business downtown and a
lot of people, we have a lot of.
Speaker 7 (01:02:52):
Visitors from Chicago.
Speaker 24 (01:02:54):
He owned, he owns a convenience store downtown right up
from the Peabody, and I used to help him, you know,
like on busy weekends I would go in there and helping.
We have a lot of people coming from Chicago down
to come to Belle Street.
Speaker 1 (01:03:08):
Yeah they do that. Yeah, listen, I got to run red.
Thank you so much for calling in. Let me get
back to these phones on today. W D I A hello,
hey A how's it going.
Speaker 9 (01:03:21):
I'm doing? How you doing?
Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
Blessed?
Speaker 6 (01:03:24):
Yes, ma'am, I just want to talk about the cruise ship.
Speaker 10 (01:03:27):
What dif?
Speaker 9 (01:03:28):
Yes, I actually experienced a.
Speaker 6 (01:03:30):
Cruise probably back, but it was about twenty years ago.
But when I went on the cruise, see, I didn't
start nowhere in like the United States. I flew to
a whole different country and got on a cruise ship.
And I was gone for like two weeks on the cruise.
So I was actually able to obtain my own personal bottle.
Speaker 7 (01:03:56):
But it was my.
Speaker 6 (01:03:57):
Brother and I knew that he liked this particular whiskey,
so I bought it. And I mean it was as
tall as my legs, so I was a maid guy.
Speaker 1 (01:04:07):
So I bought it.
Speaker 6 (01:04:08):
And I mean, if I wanted to drink it, that
whole bottle of whatever it was that I had, that
was my decision. However, like I said, I'm not sure
if it's different like when you get on the cruise
in a different country. But I guess it's just something
that I was thinking about, or you know, I was wondering.
Speaker 16 (01:04:31):
You know, I don't know how it goes.
Speaker 1 (01:04:33):
Yeah, you didn't have anybody serve it to you, but
you bought the whole bottle. Did you buy it on
the cruise or when you made one.
Speaker 9 (01:04:39):
Of these stories exactly?
Speaker 6 (01:04:41):
So I really don't remember if I bought it on
the cruise, but I was able to oubtrain it and
bring it back to the United States to give it
to my brother. But I didn't start the adventure in
the United States. I started in Barcelona, Spain. So when
I got on your rules in Boston on the Spain,
(01:05:01):
was the rules different because I mean, to my knowledge,
I mean, you could be eighteen years I was a
drink alcohol in certain countries or different you know ages
in different countries. You aren't stand what I'm saying. Yeah,
so I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:05:17):
Know, I got you. Yeah, probably different laws and things
like that. Probably, And it's interesting that they let you
bring it back to the States. That's interesting exactly.
Speaker 6 (01:05:31):
So I mean I was able to, you know, get
through customs and everything. But like they say, you know,
back then I don't know if I had my my
face on a card or whatever, but I think it
was just a card that you could slip. But it
was a different world. I mean, I was with rich people.
Speaker 1 (01:05:50):
Oh okay, yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:05:51):
You know, I guess it might have been a different
world or whatever, but you know, it was an awesome experience.
But yeah, I was able to you know, and and
and give it to my brothers. But if I if
I thought differently, then you know, I would I could
have consumed the whole bar.
Speaker 23 (01:06:10):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:06:12):
Mm hmm. Well I got you. I'm glad you are, okay,
And uh, I don't know. I don't know about you
bringing that back and into the States, but that was
that was.
Speaker 6 (01:06:24):
That was twenty years ago. And I appreciate you listening
to me and everything. But that was a different different word,
different time. Yeah, so now things you know, may be different.
Speaker 7 (01:06:35):
I'm not sure.
Speaker 1 (01:06:36):
Yeah. Yeah, well I appreciate you calling it. Thank you
so much. Okay, all right, thank you, okay, bye bye,
w d I A hello, Hello, miss Stormy.
Speaker 2 (01:06:47):
Hey there, young August.
Speaker 1 (01:06:48):
How are you.
Speaker 8 (01:06:50):
I'm doing good?
Speaker 2 (01:06:51):
Good? What's going on?
Speaker 1 (01:06:53):
Girl?
Speaker 12 (01:06:54):
Yes, ma'am.
Speaker 8 (01:06:55):
So, first of all, I agree with for the most
part meritis and common man. Now, I believe that overall
that the individual is the most responsible person for whatever
actions they take, for whatever they do. But in cases
where you have a liquor license, the individual is not
(01:07:15):
the only one responsible. With that license come requirement, and
if you don't do what you're supposed to do, you
can be held lied. But if that if you if
you know the person is intoxicated, and you see that
they can harm someone or themselves, you are responsible in
most states. And I do believe in this case is
family is going to win. I know here some years ago,
(01:07:38):
my cousins had a club and there was this guy
there who left drunk and they.
Speaker 1 (01:07:44):
Knew he was drunk.
Speaker 8 (01:07:46):
He ended up he ended up having an accident. Three
young girls would killed, two injured. They now they got
off because they could have been worse. But they shut
them down completely. But one of the states troopers told her,
you know, the accident happened on the state highway. The
state could have actually sue, could have actually held them
(01:08:06):
responsible responsible and they could have faced criminal charges. But
they got away with just being shut down and sue.
But they could have take time because if you know they're.
Speaker 1 (01:08:18):
Drunk, and you let them go.
Speaker 8 (01:08:20):
Yeah, they're responsible, but you're responsible too because you have
a license to serve liquor.
Speaker 2 (01:08:24):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:08:26):
So yeah, yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'm drunk
to you. I just I really think that this there.
I think they're gonna this fiance is going to win
this lawsuit. That's what I think. And I know she's
just the fiance, but she was on that cruise with
him with uh, you know, their family, and yeah, I think, yeah,
(01:08:48):
he won't get.
Speaker 8 (01:08:49):
The money, but whoever nets can as well as parent
or child.
Speaker 3 (01:08:53):
They will.
Speaker 8 (01:08:54):
You know, she can't legally, but somebody's gonna get paid.
And hate that he lost his life. But they have
a case for sure, because you have thirty three dreams.
Speaker 1 (01:09:03):
Come on, thirty three.
Speaker 9 (01:09:07):
That's crazy.
Speaker 8 (01:09:08):
So yeah, they are responsible.
Speaker 1 (01:09:10):
It's a lot of drinks, that's yeah, waitin't too many.
Speaker 8 (01:09:13):
And somebody somebody mentioned alcohol poison. I'm surprised that didn't
happen before that happened because after thirty three dreams, I'm
sure they probably a strong drinks. I'm surprised he was
able to walk away.
Speaker 6 (01:09:26):
M M.
Speaker 8 (01:09:27):
But yeah, that's that's an easy case.
Speaker 3 (01:09:28):
But it's too bad that.
Speaker 8 (01:09:29):
They launched that he launched his life and for them
to be on him with their full by the way,
come on, and I heard yeah, George Floyd was who.
Speaker 7 (01:09:37):
I thought of.
Speaker 1 (01:09:38):
Yeah, yeah, and some others.
Speaker 8 (01:09:42):
And too many others.
Speaker 1 (01:09:46):
Yeah, I appreciate you chiming in.
Speaker 6 (01:09:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:09:52):
Uh the video. Mister Michel that gave them the video. Now,
I'm not sure if he was the one that told
them that Virgil was, you know, shouting profanities, or who
it was that said that. But this lawsuit said crew
members should not have served Virgil alcohol because he exhibited
(01:10:14):
obvious visual signs of intoxication, and they were negligent for
doing so. Now, maritime common law requires carriers like Royal
Caribbean to supervise and assist passengers likely to you know,
engage in behavior dangerous to themselves and others. Okay, Royal Caribbean,
(01:10:40):
this is what the lawsuit is saying also failed to
exercise it's right to stop serving alcohol to Virgil to
protect his life. The company's ships, it added, are deliberately
designed to ensure there are outlcohol serving stations in every
(01:11:02):
nook and cranny, and the company does as much as
possible to encourage and facilitate alcohol consumption on board. They're
gonna sell that alcohol. That right now, they're gonna sell
that alcohol. Okay. Uh Clyde, Hey Clyde, he says, miss Stormy.
The fiance will not get a dime. His kids can
(01:11:25):
get the money. His mother and father can get that money.
Y'all are tapping in on this app too.
Speaker 3 (01:11:33):
Hey, storms moughal gee.

Speaker 14 (01:11:37):
I used to watch nothing but unemployment TV when I
was mm hm, I'm.
Speaker 18 (01:11:42):
Talking about all the court shows, all the reality shows, everything,
and that's what I learned.
Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
Mm okay, that's what Moog learned. Oh m Yeah. This
lawsuit right here is packed. It said the medical personnel
on board lacked proper education, licenses, experience, and skills, and
it failed to properly train crew members to assess when
(01:12:13):
to stop serving a passenger. But that maritime common law,
that's what's that. What's that right there, that's what might
get them.
Speaker 2 (01:12:24):
That's my opinion. I'm no alternative.
Speaker 1 (01:12:28):
This lawsuit is loaded, pretty loaded. Let's go back to
the phone. WD I A hello, hello, call of you there?
Speaker 2 (01:12:43):
Hello? Okay, maybe they took a break.
Speaker 1 (01:12:49):
I don't know, got a couple of lines to open
if you want to get into the conversation before I
get a bite of here, you're welcome to tap in
and Kevin what you think about what's going on or
what we're talk talking about today before I get to
this classic TV throwback, because I'm gonna get to that
in a second. And like I said, next hour, we're
gonna do it. We're gonna get to your wheel of fortune.
(01:13:13):
Somebody's gonna go to the keel of fortune. Let me
see who this is.
Speaker 6 (01:13:20):
The servingta experience on ten seventy double DA.
Speaker 1 (01:13:26):
That's what I'm talking about right now.
Speaker 2 (01:13:28):
Tell him what it is.
Speaker 1 (01:13:30):
Let me go back to this appen because some of
y'all are tapping this happen and see what you're saying.
Speaker 18 (01:13:33):
You know, you know what's storm with this sick man
and black conservative call.
Speaker 14 (01:13:38):
All he do is complying and complying about everything black
people do.
Speaker 2 (01:13:42):
Man, bye, go home, man.
Speaker 1 (01:13:44):
M hm m m.
Speaker 22 (01:13:47):
The storm reforce to the pact. Clydeine Belonging Church is
a tax exempt. He talking about a.
Speaker 16 (01:13:53):
Tax red off.
Speaker 7 (01:13:57):
He don't even get a.
Speaker 22 (01:13:58):
Tax right off because he don't make enough money. The
only thing he run is his mouth and think he
knows he's talking about a text right off for the
church Lord have mercy on his soul.
Speaker 1 (01:14:11):
Uh huh, Well y'all loonehm ain't you Let's see here,
let me see these cruise ships do not need to
be selling alcohol anything.
Speaker 22 (01:14:24):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:14:26):
They take advantage of people. I think that's what you're
trying to say. I'm not sure. Missus Jones says that
the captain request crew members administrated administered a sedative and
sprayed him with pepper spray. The lawsuits this treatment led
to Yes, I read that just a moment ago. Thank you,
missus Jones. Appreciate you sending that in. Yeah, that's a
story right there, and that's right there. That's gonna cause
(01:14:49):
them a problem. That's what I think. I really do
think that this the Royal Caribbean is gonna get sued
on this one. Well, they are getting sued. I think
they're gonna end up libel. This lawsuit is packed. They
got them a good lawyer, don't they. Connie Aguilar's lawsuit
(01:15:11):
for the death of thirty five year old Michael Virgil
seeks unspecified damages and a jury trial. I bet you
they try to settle that one out of court. M
Royal Caribbean did not immediately respond to an email requesting
a comment on yesterday. This is according to NBC News
(01:15:35):
they reached out to them. Aguilar and Virgil were on
a round trip voyage from Los Angeles to Insinata, Mexico,
with other members of their family, including their son, at
the time of Virgil's death, and it happened December twenty
twenty four. That's what the lawsuit says.
Speaker 2 (01:15:54):
