telling you. And my sister said, what's wrong. You just
not hearing about the place.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
I know that's right.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
But I'm telling you, I enjoyed great food over there,
great people. Ron mylond he's a good brother.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Is that. Indeed, he's a.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Good brother, and he tries to help people, Bishop, and
he does help people. He does, he does. And they
got thick security over there. You know what I'm saying. Bishop,
let me tell you they ain't playing no officer, Officer Robertson,
who's a chief of security is That's one of the
reasons Bishop, I go there because I know I'm safe.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Yes, And I go there and we we rock and roll.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
You know, the last convocation I talked about him so much.
It's great I had the presiding bishop in there. What
Karen Clark, Yeah, he told me. He told me, yeah,
there was eating some childling, so she had didn't touch me,
he said, don't get that juice on me. But Karen
and and the sisters they we all had a good time.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
I'm glad you said that. Well, how are you.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
I'm wonderful, love and thankful for all that God is
doing and what Minister is affording us. Just trying to
pace myself here as we do the kingdom work.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
Yeah, once again, Bishop you are coming up. But before
we talk about what you're happening, this is the season.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Well getting ready Kojak, Yes it is.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
This is our one hundred and seventeenth Holy Convocation.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Wow, yes, one hundred and seventeen.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Seventeenth Holy Convocation. And it officially starts on Friday, I'm sorry,
on Tuesday morning, which is November fourth, at Mason Temple
and our Chairman of the General Assembly, Bishop lemel Fusen,
will be preaching. That's called the Annoying Service, our presiding
Bishop of norns Verish and the leaders of North of
people that come. And then Friday night is the official uh,

(04:03):
the first beginning service of the convention at the Convention Center.
And there's a young man they got preaching there bed
that you just got to hear on. That's on Tuesday
the fourth, that opens up the convocation that night. That's
Bishop Brandon Porter girl, what you're talking about it? But

(04:29):
I just need the people to come out because you know,
Saints are still traving. Mine were coming in for others.
So we need Memphis and Arkansas, Mississippi to come on
out and let's fill up the convention center and have
a great time together.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
So they have me. I was the last speaker last year.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
I was the one that spoke the last service, and
now they got me doing the first service this year.
I'm like, y'all trying to wear me out. Wait a minute,
but we're gonna believe God for that and just have
a great time. The other great speakers all with Bishon.
Lynwood Dealer is going to do the last service on
the Sunday after official Day service that Sunday evening and
and others. It's gonna be a great time.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
It sounds good, I know, But also Bishop, I'm sad
because next year y'all gonna be somewhere else.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Right, Yes, you said, I got to get a hotel
and Saint Louis you know, Oh you know.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
What, I never thought about the folks and Memphis that
got girl.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
What you talking about? I got to save some money.
I'm gonnaeef. Y'all got an extra job right out here.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
Well, talk to my boss Tracy.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
She'll give you a job. Tracey will hook you up.
But yes, I'm sad. I get it, but I don't like.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
It, you know, true, and I don't either, But you know,
you have to do what's best for the people and
that person.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
And so you know, I.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Worked feverishly, yes, getting back here, and then we had
these issues with the hotels exactly, even the main hotel,
which is the Oh yeah, that's hard and it's right
there to convince that's got to be right.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
That has to be right.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
And I even when you said that, I even told
the mayor to his face, says, y'all got to get
that right. You own people to come here with conventions,
right and conferences.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
You have to get it right.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
If you want to keep something good, you got to
keep getting better. Yes, because we're competing with all these
other cities that have hotels all right downtown, yes, and
Saint Louis offers so many more rooms to our blocks. Really, yeah,
more like a thousand more rooms wow to our block
downtown than does Memphis. And so it's just it's just
bad business now. And you know, hotels are privately owned,

(06:39):
so the mayor can't do much. But the hotel that
they were supposed to be buying, right, that needs to
be up.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
And going and happening exactly.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
And there's what three or four others for sale now, right,
all right, so hopefully we can get back.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
So how long are you all going to be in
Saint Louis?

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Just until Memphis can get it? Get it right?

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Right?

Speaker 1 (06:58):
I like that answer. Go get it right, Memphis. I'm
pushing every button I can. It's an impact because we
bring so many millions of dollars in one week, so
that means you're not only impacting the hotels, but also
the industry, you know, the local small businesses that mean
about people, the restaurants and so on that they go to, yeah,
and and and spend their money.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Exactly, you know.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
So, and the Saints gonna eat. You know, we're gonna eat.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
I eat, We're gonna eat so and uh, you know,
I know there's a chick Fi laid downtown. They about
to take on some wings, right, But hopefully we can
get things together here in Memphis. But everything else is
going on, you know. Yeah, we had concerned about the
National Guard. And I talked to some of these people,
Oh yeah, that's right. Yes, And I met with some

(07:43):
of the They want my parking lots, so I said,
y'all will talk to me then, and I let them
know we had a convention coming.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
I did not want our people harassed. That's right.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
The issue it's not even FBI, and the task force
of that says it's more so the Highway.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Patrol yes, and ice yes, yes.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
So you all have to get your tags right or
they're gonna pull you over. You can't be riding dirty,
or they're gonna give you a shower. You got to
get your stuff together. And I'm with the Saints that
are coming in. I told them we don't look like criminals.
So they'll be searching up under these women's hats and stuff.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
You know, exactly right, right, exactly.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
I want us to be well and I want them
to have a good experience while here. And and uh,
the mayor of Chief Davis and of course Caref Bonner,
I have ashowed us because Memphis police and the sheriff
department always has it under control.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Downtown.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
We have a few situations, only a very few situations, right,
and I believe it will be fine this year. I haven't,
you know, honestly, I've not even seen the National Guard
in Memphis.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
I don't know where they aren't. I don't either.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
I don't know where that I haven't seen them. I
just saw them on TV on TV yet. But I
haven't seen them since I've been riding around you, right,
But I've seen them other folks, the troopers and plane
cars and and and and and and Bishop Porter.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
You need to know they on the motorcycles because I've seen.
I've come to work.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
One morning I came to work, Bishop, I saw it
was for my motorcycles had stopped people.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Well, y'all, they're on the motorcycles.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
My heart goes out to for the Latino Hispanic community
because they're racially profiling now and.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
That's not a good thing.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
And you got some good working class people that are
just trying to make a living.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
And you know they're they're in hiding.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
Have Spanish people speaking people in my congregation, and sometimes
they're afraid to come to church. But I told them
they better not come up at the ice coam mill
if you come up in here all sun and so
I want just we have to do what we can.
So I'm going even through Christmas in November, I'm going
to find a way to try to help some of
these people that.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Are afraid to come outside.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Yeah, and we'll get some connects to take food and
stuff to them because they can't go to work. Then
they can't go to the store exactly. And you know
y'all gonna have to start cutting your own grass and stuff.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
Right, it's just a lot.

Speaker 6 (09:59):
It is.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Well, we're praying, we're praying that, yeah, we have something
meaningful happens.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Yeah, well I wish the best this year for.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
The convocation man, and everything will be all right.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
You know them Clark sisters coming down.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Oh yes, Clark clocks, my girls. You know, we all
grew up together. And they've got great musicals. Myron Williams,
who's our choir president. Now we've got great musicals going on.
You know what else is happening on the eighth. On
the eighth, at like six pm, they're using our church.
There's a group that is doing something special for Sarah

(10:35):
Jordan Powell. Remember Jordan, I do, I do power, And
of course she's gotten a lot older now, but still
she's precious and she lives in Chicago now because she
was in Oklahoma area.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
And so they're going to do a special.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
Thing for her in the convocation during the convocation at
my church on the eighth Saturday the eighth, which location
at Winchester fifty one Winchester, And it's free, of course,
but it's going to have some many singers, and Vanessa
Bale is coming, Vicky Wine, oh wow, and several others
I'm hearing are going to be coming. They told me

(11:08):
Shirley Caesar was coming. That I found out she's coming
through a video. Okay, okay, still she's coming. She's coming,
and so many others that are going to be here,
and I can't I don't have the list, but you
go check it out and look for it the search.
Maybe Surgery and Powell you'll see. But it'll be a
great thing to come out and celebrate this woman a
God who gave so much of herself.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
Yes, she did to gospel music and so that's gonna
be good. Well, it seems like y'all got it all
worked out.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Yes, Dorinda sayd it was some kind of modeling thing too.
Fashion show on that same day, Saturday the eighth, at
our church and our small auditorium. She's got several singers
and stuff that's with uh Direna clock because you know
she has her own fashion design.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Yeah something.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
It's a lot happening.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
But they got great musicals and services, prayer time services
and so many things. If just go to kojik dot org. Okay,
so I can go on to that Lord and see
everything that's going on.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
Kojak dot org.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
Kojik c o g I c dot org.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
I will do that. I will do that. It sounds good.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
Well, once again, Bishop, I don't know how y'all do this.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
We it's a lot of work for a long time.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
I don't know how you all do this.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
But once again, ladies and gentlemen, Bishop, they are bringing
Christmas in November.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
You got I like the way you say it beb.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Christmas in November.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
Yes, ma'am, that's what it is.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
It's it's we call it a miracle in Memphis too,
because the time of giving and because of the pandemic,
we stop giving away used clothes or slightly used Okay, yeah,
it's brand new with a tag on it. Everything is
brand new. It's some wonderful clothing. We gone some great
places shopping. We got some people give us some nice deals,
you know, but you spend thousands, thousands of dollars. And

(12:54):
then we have some other groups that work with us,
such as World Vision and so on, and the LDS.
They're just helping us get more items we even got.
Of course, we do food, clothes, toys, small appliances, household
goods and diapers and all those kinds of things as
well sanitation things as well as there's fresh meat this year.

(13:14):
And listen when I'm telling you, I'm talking about eighteen
wheeler full of fresh meat, frozen meat that and now
gave out some not too long ago was hot dogs
and ground beefah like pound ground beef like a little
what do you call them tubes? And then the beef
hot dogs. And then they got other meat products that

(13:35):
are coming this time. So we have a plethora of
meat to give out to the people as they come.
And I want you to come. It's all free. All
we're gonna load you up free. It's all free. And
the event starts. It's these first, it's Saturday, the first November.
The first, and that's right before the complication began. So
our presiding Bishop and others wanted to do something for

(13:57):
the city of Memphis before the meeting gas and your
presiding bishop is.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
Who Bishop j Drew Shear.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
That's right. I thought that, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
That's my brother.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
We've been knowing each other for over fifty years. Just
an incredible person and a great ministry and a great heart.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
And he loves Memphis. And you know he has roots
in Mississippi.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
Oh really?

Speaker 3 (14:18):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, his grandfather. Oh that's he has
roots in Mississippi.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Okay, I didn't know that.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
And so we're looking forward to some of the people
are coming in early from California, from New Jersey just
to volunteer and to help. And that's what we're asking for.
If you go to Christmas in November dot org, you
can go on there to volunteer sign up. We have
now about close to three hundred volunteers signed up, and
I need another hundred because we're getting close to that

(14:44):
number of ten thousand to participate to receive goods and services.
And so thousands sign up, but you know, they don't
just sign themselves up. They have three or four or
five rights in the house and so it becomes pretty healthy.
So Bishop you you need to sign up, yes, And
that's how I was.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
Going to ask you. If you know you just just
can't walk up, you need to sign up.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
You can walk up, but you're gonna be in another
line for that. Oh but and that's called on look
because some people, you know, have problems with going online.
They not even have the devices. But we're still we
accommodate everybody. And this year my intent, because of all
this going on, we're going to get the people to
the seats a lot sooner. So instead of starting at
nine as it is advertised, we're going to start at eight.

(15:28):
We're gonna open the gates at eight. Let people come
on it because they be lined up early in the morning.
It is going to be cold out there, I think,
and so we want to get people in and get them.
We have great entertainment or they got Zach our minister
us Zach Haysey has a lot of great singers. Tell
you one of our hosts and the music, and that's
Stevenson Clark, you know, little prince of gospel music. And

(15:50):
Steve got a lot of energy and the little fella
got a whole lot of edge, I'll tell you, but a.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Lot of singers and various ones.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
Older Haselin has a great array of vocals and singers
and resenters. And we want to invite our Memphis City
officials to come this many people out here. You know,
we gang up for other stuff to see something positive
happening where people are getting getting what they need, you know,
the deficiencies of out their lives being fulfilled through food, clothes, toys,

(16:17):
household goods and so. And then FedEx is coming. We
have we have health screening and we have several groups
in the health department. We just had at our church
at Greater Community Temple on Winchester this past Sunday. It
was Healthcare Professional Appreciation Day as well as Go Pink
and we had many doctors and even the director of
Health for the for Shelby County was there and it Randolph,

(16:41):
doctor Bruce Randolph and others. And so they've got many
entities coming to offer health screening for the people.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
FedEx.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
Last year beav Man's Ahl, you know, Man's Man's came
and he's coming this year and they gave out six
hundred jobs on location. Wow to people right there. Now,
we talking about healthcare and all of that, and yeah,
I know. And so people can sign up and get jobs.
There's also credit ready people to help you get your credit,
all kinds of services that will be there as well

(17:12):
as well as the goods that we're giving out to.
So come and get all this wonderful free stuff. Don't
let us pull all this stuff out there and have
to take it back home. Now. I need y'all to
come get this stuff, all right and tell them I
said you can have it right, come early and then,
but go to kojik I go to them. Sorry, Christmas
in November, that's I in Christmas in November. Dot org,

(17:34):
Christmas in November dot org, Christmas in November dot org.
And you can register to either be a volunteer or
you can register to get the goods and services. Do
that right now, please, And you can also go there
to make donations if you want to. And I want
to thank all the people that are calling in. I
got several calls from various bishops today from Tennessee, Arkansas,
and Mississippi said they were giving our presiding bishops given

(17:58):
our national Women's Farm in the National Church and passing
the eldest Counsel of the Board of Bishops. These kaching
members are giving to help us do what we're trying
to do, and we appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
If you've just tuned in this afternoon, I am talking
with Bishop Brandon Porter. He is the pastor of the
Greater Community Temple Church of God in Christ. We are

Been the backburn of black people struggling in this country.

You know, during slavery, was the church was.

Speaker 9 (21:36):
The black church that was the back and I think
we go the church again, you know, fear siation and
recoming on to know with this what's going on in
America right now. So what do you think about the
church getting more involving economics in economics pasta, you know,

(22:02):
because that's where the people are, you know, you know,
I member Pastor whel Almost and your program was cited
in pabel And last Friday, and he said that the
mayor had a meeting with some black preachers and they
made a commitment that they were going to have their

(22:25):
congregation to support more black businesses. Take over that money
that you collected the congregation and deposited in black institutions,
in black banks to.

All right, thank you Marcus, Thank you for calling Marcus.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Here's the thing, and that was but Siki first, the
Kingdom of God, Marcus and his righteousness. That means God's
will in his way.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
And because God knows what he's doing, and so we
have to follow God closely so we know what we're doing.
I do believe that the church has to focus on economics,
and so often we talk about That's why it's hard
to talk about money in church, beb is because people
think you're only trying to get something from them and
not give something back to them. But we have to
talk pastors and other leaders, religious leaders more than about

(24:10):
the ten percent. We got to talk to the people
about the ninety they got left over all, right, not
just what you're going to give the church, but what
you're going to do with the rest of what you have.
So I've been teaching thought about it that way. I've
been teaching. I'm finishing up a book now, I'm finishing
up two books. I've written thirteen books then, and so
this one book is from your hand to your harvest, Okay,

(24:32):
maximizing what.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
You already have. And it's so important for us to
know that.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
And I've been teaching on investments and other things because
we have to see giving as an investment, not just
paying some money out or the burden of giving. But
you'll never get anything until you let something go, all right.
You have to release something in order to get something.
And so pastors and leaders and others, we have to
teach our people more so how to save money. You know,

(24:57):
I've been telling people about there's one little the app
that's called Acorn, and because when you get it out
of sight, out of mind, then you can keep it.
You can hold on to it. As long as you
look at your money. Whenever I walk around money in
my pocket, it's gonna be gone. Because I'm a giver.
I almost give somebody two dollars over here, somebody three
dollars over here. Wills always be given, right. But the
thing is, you have to teach people how to save.

(25:18):
And most people think they have to have a whole
lot before they can say, but you start with a little,
and then you can get more. So we have to, Yes,
marc us empower the people in giving, and the churches
can do that, but we do need people giving in
church before the church can give it out.

Speaker 4 (25:33):
Yeah, and I think that a lot of churches have
started a lot of things.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
Sure, yeah, yeah, you know my dad when we started
the church in North Memphis. Yeah, we had the food
stamp office. Then you could get your ged on the
third floor. Then you could pay your utility bill at
the church. And we had the daycare center. We had
the largest private on daycare center my mother ran in
Memphis back it started in nineteen seventy one, seventy two.
And so it's just so much the church has done

(25:59):
and can continue to do, and the Black church is necessary.
I wrote a book entitled The Multiculture Church, True or False.
The emphasis was that the Black Church still matters, you know,
because many of us are going to other churches. We
say multi racial, but we say multiculture.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
But there's no such thing.

Speaker 1 (26:15):
It's only multi racial because only one culture exists at
a time. Even when America had a black president, it
was still a white America, Okay. And so culture is
about self preservation and our people have to be about
preserving themselves. That's why we go to black restaurants, that's
why we we employ black workers. And I know we said, well,

(26:36):
you know, you want somebody to do it right. Black
people can do things right.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
They can.

Speaker 3 (26:40):
You know, white eyes ain't colder.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
You got that.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Both of them got to be refrigerated. So we have
to do our best. And then I want to challenge
black business owners and professionals, do your best, you know,
do your best. My dad always said do it right
or do it over, you know, so we encourage that.
But thank you Marcus. A great question.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
Yeah, w D I a hi caller.

Speaker 10 (27:04):
Yes, good morning, Good, good morning. How are you doing?

Speaker 2 (27:07):
Good afternoon. I'm doing well. How are you?

Speaker 10 (27:10):
Yeah, I'm doing sign it's an open mic.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
No, it's not an open mic. Today, I'm talking to
Bishop Brandon Porter. We're talking about his Christmas in November.
So call me back when we have open mics.

Speaker 10 (27:23):
No, no, no, no, no, I'm gonna I'm gonna be
there on Christmas in nove We will be there Christmas

bishop Bishop the bishop and YouTube both. I am originally
from Instance, but I will be there in no and
also too, I had the Bishop on my mind this
morning because today I know said birthday is old, but

(27:45):

Green Grant. Today it's her birthday, and I thought about
you this morning because I thought about her.

Speaker 3 (27:53):
Oh wow.

Speaker 10 (27:54):
Okay, and thank you, thank you, and I will see
you in November of the.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
First, Saturday, November the first. And for those that have been.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
Okay, thank you, thank you, okay, thank you, going go on.
Those that have been trying to get online. You can't
put spaces in it. You gotta shut the spaces when
you do a website. And that's what my estats. So
they're saying they're putting the spaces in there, putting spaces,
So tell them what it's supposed. Christmas in November dot
org spell out the word Christmas. Then I in November

(28:26):
dot org and no spaces. Now here's the thing. Someone
said that the registration all those closes. No, everything is
wide open.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
It's still over.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
Because yeah, because I had got an email from Barbara,
she says, the vendors and all that, No, don't you
all put the spaces in there. Listen to me. Christmas
in November. Put it all together dot org. That's right,
put it all together, that's right.

Speaker 3 (28:47):
And let me give your phone number just in case.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
Yeah again O one uh huh five four to two
five two five five.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
You can call it right.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Now and say it one more time there I know one.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
Five four to two five two five five.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
And someone, a live person will answer the phone now
with a greater community temple and help walk you through it. Okay,
nine O one five four two five two five five
And can I ask this bell?

Speaker 5 (29:10):
Sure?

Speaker 3 (29:11):
Listen. We still need so much. We're doing something. There's
some givers out there.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
If you want to just go buy a brand new
little outfit for a child. If I can get a
thousand people to do that, it'll help us. Just get it.
And I've had some people do that. Bring buy some
new clothes if they have. When I ask you something,
you didn't washed it, had to put it in cleaning nose.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
With the tags.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
You know you may only you may pay five dollars
or six. I go and get it on sale just
so we can give it away. If I can get
a thousand people to do that will help us. Because
we got so many people coming. We had ten thousand
people to register last year. What Yes, and we want
to bless people this year. I don't want to shut anybody.
They left there with tears flowing down their faces.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
And just so if I had, if I had it known,
because bishop out of down let me tell you this, I'm.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
A chappaholic. I this my niece. They get on me.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
I have no closets, but I'm saying I wish I
had known about it, because I have.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
I've been putting things in a bag, but still with
the tags still on there.

Speaker 3 (30:19):
I'm going to your house. Get that bad.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
I'm all like so because I'm finding stuff with like mine,
he said.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
But I'm a chappaholic. That's all I do.

Speaker 3 (30:30):
I get. Well, we want to invite you to come
on with.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
That bad those tags.

Speaker 1 (30:35):
You're gonna look like Santa's helper. And guess what, we
have a black Santa going to be on side. Yes,
that's one of our pastors. Uh and like he's out
of Chattanooga, but he is. I had to sing you
his picture. He looks like real his real beer for
that purpose because he just photos. He does this all

(30:55):
through our Chattanooga and its name is j Anthony Taylor.
But it is incredible and then we have face painting
for the kids and so many other wonderful things for
the children. And you just got to come and spend
the day. It's from eight until three, okay, and then
by three o'clock because our people got to get them
refreshed they can get back to their lives and were
shutting everything down. But we want to give it all
the way by then, and we're gonna move the lines quickly.

(31:17):
My son Bryson works for navigating the crowd and so
many and he's he's got his daddy's spirit, so he
knows how to.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
Move the crowd.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
And we're gonna keep it going and no one will
be left behind.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
Everybody's gonna leave there with something.

Speaker 1 (31:30):
So and I love you said you're gonna have the groceries, Baby,
the groceries. We got toys for kids, uh huh. A
lot of good toys have come in and a lot
of great clothing and things that we've had to purchase
and things come in.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
The food.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
We've been doing food bags and we have thousands of
bags that we're doing for people to give and great food.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
Though.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
Now I love this one. Bishop. You mentioned you're gonna
have the health screening.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
Yes, help.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
And I always tell people when you hear about a
free health screen, because people can't.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Afford doctors, go see what you're blood pressure.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
That's it, exactly for sure, and that's what happens because
it's a silent killer exactly. Don't know what's going on.
So just let them do that. And they're there to
do it, and they were there last year. They were
so excited to be able to serve the people like that.
We'll also have one young lady. Her name is Angelique Mister,
and her business is to help small businesses and people
get the credit right so they can go in business.

(32:20):
And she'll have a table there and tell you how
you can get her information so she can tutor you
and coach you into getting that done.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
Like I said, FedEx is coming.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
And if you all need a job, job now come on. Hey,
that's a job that gives you health care. That's right,
and will also pay your tuition at the University of Memphis.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
That's right. Fed X fed X. We we love fairs.

Speaker 3 (32:43):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (32:44):
Hey, Hey, I said, I love fair I have a
nephew work at fed Eggs. Good at work and bishop
my dad used to say, you work your watch out
now I like it.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
You work you right, that's.

Speaker 3 (32:58):
Right, that's right.

Speaker 2 (33:00):
Well, this is exciting.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
Yes, we're so thankful that especially for you having us
on bail, because you're respected in this community and we
appreciate you so well.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (33:08):
We can sit here with you.

Speaker 1 (33:09):
That means people understand it's got to be real if
bail to be real. And I know you you you
have always been about Bishop Porter helping the community, and
that's what it's about.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
It's a lot of work too. I want to thank well.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
I'm on here with my staff because David said, my
rod and my staff they comfort me. And my staff
have a great staff and sometimes they're passing gets them
and stuff they just signed up for, right, yes, right,
this' the resume, you know what I'm saying exactly, and
then the job description. But they know whenever God leads
me to get involved some things that we do it.
And so we're gonna we're gonna keep pushing. And I

(33:45):
want to thank them for their efforts and the donations
that are people are bringing clothes even now, and I
want to appreciate y'all still do it. Fifty fifty one

Speaker 2 (33:58):

Speaker 3 (34:01):
Where Pigley Wiggis used to be.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
It's fifty two yeah, fifty two sixty or fifty two

mention parking because yeah, yeah, right, you can park on
our church lot I think, and I know volunteers over
there as well. But also what's that power school?

Speaker 3 (34:17):
They got a big lot over there men Hall and Winchester.

Speaker 2 (34:20):
Yeah, I know where the Power school parking.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
There in other places, just don't park in some business
you've not gotten permission. They'll toll your cars, so fine.
And on the streets. And we've got MPD and Sheaff
Department helping so you can even park on one side
of the street. They're on Winchester as well. And we're
going to make make away. So just come on, everybody,
come on, all our welcome, bring your kids to and

(34:44):
and come get what you need and register Christmas in
November dot org. And when you do the registration, it
will give you a number and just bring that number.
So all our people have to do is say what's
your number or your name and look you up and
get your right in and you can get your seat
and your wristband because it's first comfort surf. Okay, I'll
get this last call, Bishop, and before you get out

Speaker 5 (35:43):
Trying to dogs bullet at the same time.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
You know we're all doing that.

Speaker 5 (35:46):
You know.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
Hey, the social social media is undefeated.

Speaker 5 (35:50):
That's right, oh man, oh man, listen, Bishop, I just
wanted to tell you how much we appreciate the work.

Speaker 7 (35:56):
You're doing in our community.

Speaker 5 (35:58):
You know, I live in the community to near your church,
and I just want you to know how much we
appreciate the work that you guys are doing. Uh. But
I'm in the North Memphis area, so I'm not one,
but I'm in North Memphis. But I certainly appreciate the
work you're doing. If you get a chance, bell but
you give Bishop my number of Bishop. I want to
ask you a questions online. But man, I just want

(36:20):
to thank you. But I you know, I'm I'm always
reminded of your history, your family history, because I don't
know if you know this. But Melly and I went
to Hume together. Yeah, Melly and I went to Hume together.
I've been on Melan, man. I knew Melly for years
and she was a wonderful young lady.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
Also McDonald's to get you down, Bishop, I was.

Speaker 5 (36:44):
More interested in her friend, Mona Elis. Hey, Mona Edis
is my good friend today.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
We're still good.

Speaker 5 (36:57):
Yeah, all of them, all of them, but also your
your father and your mother. I knew them as well.
I had a friend during that time named Elward Collins. Yeah,
and yes, So I used to be at the church
all the time, and I remember the programs you had,
like the cedar program and all those things you had

(37:18):
at the church back then. Man, that was a wonderful time.
That was a wonderful time. And your your parents, I
mean did an absolutely Mardel's job at reaching out for
people in the community. Even back then. I remember you
guys opened up an elder center right there Salvage, and

(37:39):
I mean, you guys were on top of it. It
meant so much back then because we felt like we
were a real African village. So you know, it was
just beautiful, man, and your family was a big part
of that. So I just wanted to just congratulate you
on the work, but also just shout out to your parents, man,
and that heaveless guys. I just want you to know that,

(38:01):
man and an old friend over there, your cousin Fred
I think your cousin.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
Gray Flag, Yes, of course, yeah.

Speaker 5 (38:08):
Yeah, Porter, all up, Man, there's just wonderful people, man,
and I appreciate that. We just want to share that
with you.

Speaker 7 (38:16):
My friend.

Speaker 3 (38:16):
Know this, We're gonna be doing some things in North Memphis.

Speaker 1 (38:18):
So you know, we have the new Chicago Park Place, Bereter,
we put a community center in, and we're about to
put a clinic there.

Speaker 3 (38:26):
Some other things. Well, yeah, in the community.

Speaker 5 (38:28):
Well that's one of the things I want to talk
to you about, maybe apart being a community partner, together.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
No problem, because we're going to bring some food and
stuff to North Memphis. We're going to do that. I
think that's Christmas Eve. Yeah, Christmas Eve. We're going to
do that because we have a big Christmas service and
our Winchester campus we give out a lot of stuff too.
But we're going to do it in North Memphis Christmas Eve.
And we went through there last year and just drove
all over North Memphis blessing children and others and so.

(38:55):
Because not everybody can get the East, but if you're listening,
get to east all right.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
Christmas in November, we'll find a way.

Speaker 5 (39:02):
I just want to tell you, thank you getting one again.
Thank you so much for all you do. Listen y'all
stay we.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
Will brother.

Speaker 4 (39:16):
Good day to day Bishop, last words you like to
say to our listeners.

Speaker 2 (39:20):
And coming up Christmas in November, I.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
Just want to tell you just stay encouraged. You know,
the eyes of the Lord in every place, and he
knows what our needs are and he always has someone
that can minister to that need. Just don't stop trusting
him and stay connected. You know, connectivity is so important.
Get in a church, Get in a good Bible believing church,
so you can get to know people. Can I tell

(39:43):
you something. Success happens at the speed of relationships, and
when you get into relationships, you never know what happens.
I'm only here because I have a relationship with Bev
and because of that, the door was open for us
to get in here to talk about these things and
you can hear about them.

Speaker 3 (40:00):
So we can't do it alone.

Speaker 1 (40:01):
You know, if you're going to be successful, then you're
gonna need a lot of people that want you to
be that because they got to be convinced. A difference
between good and great is exposure. And that's what we're
doing now with BEB telling the whole world.

Speaker 3 (40:13):
About the goodness of God.

Speaker 1 (40:14):
That's about to happen on November first, from eight am
unto three pm. Christmas in November, don't you dare miss it.
We got a lot of goods and services for you,
and I don't want you to go home without it.

Speaker 4 (40:28):
Sounds good. And one last thing, Bishop Convocation starts.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
Win It is November fourth through the tenth or eleventh,
and I'm preaching on Tuesday night, November fourth at the
Convention Center, So y'all get some gas and drive your
car down there.

Speaker 3 (40:43):
I'm gonna tell the state trooper to leave you alone.

Speaker 1 (40:46):
Get down there if they pull you over, telling Bishop
Porter told me to keep coming, all right, Love you.

Speaker 4 (40:51):
All, Love you, Bishop Brandon Porter, the past of the
Greater Community Temple Church in God and Christ. I love you,
Thank you brother for being Love you more all right.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
