of October, October first, twenty twenty five. Enjoy this fast
of dulous day. Today it's fall, yes it is fall,
but I don't know we have this hot but you
know how Memphis weather is. But anyway, be careful, be careful.

(05:36):
Let me say this before we talk to our automotive specialists.
He is back in the house. Y'all know that we
have the Safe Task Forces here, you know, looking for
the National Guard to come here, but we have the FBI.
We have all these troopers we have all this stuff

(05:57):
going on in the city. If you are, as we
said last week, if you are a law abiding citizen,
you don't have to worry about anything. But for those
of you who continue, you want to run some red lights,
you want to jump in front of some folks. Because
I thought i'd say this before Terry comes over, talk

(06:18):
about automobile. You want to running You know, I was
yesterday light the man couldn't wait. He just went on
through the light. It was red. What okay, these folks
are are here and they're stopping people. They stopped some
folks yesterday rend the red light. They got them. Then
they had drugs in the car. So y'all keep on

(06:40):
running the red lights, keep on doing the donuts, the
stuff you want to do, because they are These folks
are here and so far we don't know what areas
they are in, but they here. They see you want
to rent, They gonna get you. Come on, y'all. We
talked about crying, but all these folks running red lights

(07:01):
and jumping in front of folks as we come on.
So if they get for those I'm talking to those
who love to run red lights, who just speeding.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
You you have.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
No respect for the law. I hope they get your ass.
I hope they do. I hope they do. I'm just thinking,
it's red light this man. And then then I looked
at the coy You old man, you're gonna run the
You're gonna you. You in that big of a hurry.
You gotta go. Okay, So they're here, they were, and

(07:34):
you don't know what kind of cars and stuff they're in.
When you know what the troopers and the police. But
these other folks, so you, if you are not a
law abiding citizen, okay, well you asking for trouble. You
are asking for trouble. That's all I'm saying to you.

(07:55):
But the folks who who abide by the law and
respect the law, we are okay. We don't have anything
to worry about. We don't have anything to worry about.
So I just say be careful out there, y'all. It's
on you. It's yeah. You know, you make it with

(08:16):
your own hands. You make your success, and with your
own hands you can destroy you. That's what I have
to say. That's my soapbox for today. I'm like Attorney
Earth Lower. That's my soapbox. But I'm thinking, Okay, they
are here they and they picking up folks. Okay, okay,

(08:38):
I'm off my soapbox. Let me say good morning to
our automotive specialists, Mester Terry Spicer, Hey, Terry.

Speaker 6 (08:49):
How are you?

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Good morning? Yeah, let me do my soapbox. You got
me over here flipping here. Good morning, my beautiful Radio
Hall of Famer and National National Black Radio Hall of
Famer inductee. How you feeling today? I'm feeling fired. They
got you fired up to there. I was thinking like, okay,
these folks and then when you watch it, okay, said

(09:13):
they picked up somebody because they ran a red light. Okay,
then they got them, Terry, the drugs in the car
and okay, so gon keep on running red lights, running
in front of people. Okay, I just this bad. We
can't do that. We can't run red lights here and
you can't. You can't, Terry, Yes, you can't. You don't
want a red light. But there are consequences of your actions. Yeah, yeah,

(09:39):
because they still have a red lights and give you
those tickets. Yep, you never got one of those though.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
That does that?

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Do they still have some in the city that they
still work? I thank god I have never told them.
So you can do what you want, but there are comments, mean,
we can't speed a little bit. That's your consequences to
your action.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
Cheer.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
You know the state tuber two weeks ago, they gave
me a nice salutation, welcome well into your town. Right,
exactly right, So see you got going, so there are
consequences to your I was going the same speed as
everybody else. Well, now I wouldn't admit we all were
going a little bit over the limit. Yeah, I wasn't
going I don't think I was going as fast as

(10:19):
wrought the ticket for. But I didn't want to argue
with the man, you know. I just thank him for
his time, went gout my way, and my attorney, thank
God for goodurn my attorney. He's got it handled so good.
But yeah, but they the troopers are in town. And
as Bell is saying, I guess you know, I got
these other folks in town too, the National Guard. No there,
no one's seen, but they're going to be here this week,

(10:39):
so I think there should be. But but they have
these other folks here. FBI, they got the d Oh, yeah,
they got d They got all these other folks here.
Is this something I don't I don't pay attention to
the I don't go into into the weeds and the news.
What's going is something else to look to hunt for. No,
that's part of the safe. That's part of the crime.

Speaker 7 (10:57):
The crime.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Oh yeah, you know, because Trump's and all the folks say, well,
we gotta fight crime, so they send it in all
these folks here. So mister president is doing us a
kind favor. I don't know if you know, but you
know a lot of people we don't need a national god.
But I don't know what kind of favor he's doing.
He needs to take care of damn Washington because they
don't shut down the government. How they shut down the government. Yeah,
I don't blame I don't blame them.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
You know.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
You know, Republicans want to do this and then come on, y'all,
and you don't want to give health care, affordable health
care to middle class folks who need it, and and
and the other side. Republicans say, Democrats want to give
it to I don't like this word they use aliens.
But those undocumented immigrants who they don't it. The law said,

(11:41):
they can't give it to them anyway, health care, you know,
so they read the law. You folks up there in Washington.
So yeah, so don't get me started. Let me say
let me say this, let me say this. I'm through
with that. I'm through through. But thank you, thank you,
thank you Terry for Saturday at the Southern Heritage Classic

(12:02):
in that red my favorite color candy, I said, candy
with the white. Yeah, uh that Dnale and we had
it at the Mayor's tailgate party. We were riding in
in in style.

Speaker 6 (12:17):
Terry.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Thank you, I think Ryan for for allowing you to
let us have that that vehicle and and this time Terry.
But I know, I don't know if you noticed, because
the bodyguard wasn't here. It was out of town, so
I had my other bodyguard. But that's that. That's a
driving sister. We call her back girl. She deva standing

(12:42):
my neighbor. What was was was was my official driver
this year. It never got us safe to the Southern
Heritage Classic tailgate and she got us home safely. And
that's a you know what when you showed us, Terry,
I said, you have to get in and Debbie knew
how to work all them and she knew how to

(13:03):
put Google. I was like, what I forgot how to
I forgot? Terry I forgot how to hit the I said,
get the screen. Never had it, never had it worked out.
So as far as the technology, did you like the
fact that when you get in the car, if you
want to turn the arro or the heat on, you
can just say okay, I love that. And so we
you know, we were saying then because the folks in

(13:24):
the back, they were saying, we need some air. And
there was that guy and Debbie hit that because I
was looking for with the button where and Debbie hit
them some button on the steering column and and then
then she says, Google, they need some air in the back,
in the rear, and the air came on in the back.
Everything is voice commanded these new vesics like what I know,
I know, and Bell I was gonna show Bev how

(13:47):
to do the the automatic self had no interest in that. No,
we had no, no, no, no, got somebody that we're
gonna put our hands on the steering wheel and we're
gonna drive. I know, I know, but thank you again.
It was beautiful and I was looking at uh. As
matter of fact, Terry and I we put it. It's
on our Facebook if you also see that. And a

(14:07):
lot of people were saying they like that car. They
like that. A lot of people liked it. Terry, we
saw one yesterday Black gmc k thenally, okay, Ryan, I'll
be out there and get my chick. I'm just kidding. No,
you're good for it. I promise you good. I'm good.
I'm good. I'm good. But I just wanted to say
thank you, thank you, thank you. It's always And I
tell Terry y'all that he doesn't have to do that.

(14:29):
I can drive my own car, but I know he
likes to do it. And Terry that you you're a
bad protractal boy. You made that maybe second little passion.
I like doing that. Well you you you're good at it.
I appreciate it. And the pictures were wonderful. Did you
take a picture of me and the mayor? Yeah, I
didn't see that one sitting there. I didn't see. It's
on my wall on Facebook.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
Terry.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
You know you got you got quite a few pictures.
It may be in the second album. I think you
only looked at the first album, which your pitches in it.
But there's another that one. There's another one with you
and the mayor and and uh and I even got
a shot. I think of you and the police chief.
I'm not I got I got that one, but I
didn't see the one. Yeah, I think the marriage I
got most of them.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
You know.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
The mayor came in towards the end of it. Yeah,
I got most of all his shots in the third photo. Okay, gallery, Okay,
I'll look for it. Yes, it is a pleasure. Did
you did y'all go to the did you? What did
you do? After the tailgate party? I went home. And
the reason why I went home is because I had

(15:34):
to prepare for Sunday because I was speaking that morning
at your Chapels church. So I hadn't done my message yet,
so I said, I can't be doing I got and
I have to be there on time. That's right. So
after we left, we had a good time. We left
and and I went home and got my message together. Message.

(15:56):
Their theme was gracefully Let me think that their their
thing was gracefully purpose for a purpose. But I'll get it.
But anyway, so I and it comes out of the
Booth of Ruth, the Book of Ruth, and uh, gracefully

(16:20):
positioned for a purpose. And yeah, gracefully positioned for a
purpose out of the Book of Ruth.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
So I had to go in there so you do
not have to get my stuff together with all my duckets.
And that's what we're going to even messing around. I
don't messing around around. I got to give you something
and I know how to hit it. That's right, and quit,
that's right, And that's what I did. Comes in and
starts the show.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
We have to do.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
But but but but we had a good time. My
nieces were here from Dallas and they had a good
time because they went to the game and they went
to the comedy show. So they had a good time.
For that's awesome. Yeah, that's also. So what did you do?
Did you have to go back to work? You know? No,
I spend time editing those photos. Actually, okay, so I left.
I'm gonna look for the third gallop, but I did see.

(17:09):
But I'm trying to say how you missed that? You know,
I'll tag you over the break, I'll tag you. I
guess that one. I'll tag you. Okay, I've even put
those of the other I put the photos also on
our Sunrise page. But you know, I'm a cougar, so
some things I miss. You're a cougar. You are crazy,
crazy crazy you. Uh, that's something coming up this weekend.

(17:30):
What y'all got something? Oh, I got something coming up
this week What you got going?

Speaker 8 (17:35):
Well?

Speaker 2 (17:35):
I we are celebrating the third year of the opening
of the Rocking Chair. They are having their anniversary on
a Saturday, celebrating three years at the owner Ron Miler. Yeah,
nice guy. Yes, Uh, they are celebrating three years they've
been open. And on Saturday, I will host that hosts

(17:57):
their show. They are having mister Sam and oh b
but can I oh wow, awesome. Yeah, So they will
be there and I will be there, and uh, we're
gonna celebrate it. And what's a lot going on this weekend?
They got the wine on the River. That's happened. Yeah, yeah,
we do have the wine on the River. We have
that going on. I hope to be there taking photographs.
I know you will be, but yeah, but that yeah,

(18:21):
and I'm glad you mentioned. Yeah, we do have the
wine on the river. And there's a lot of things
going on. It's always and we just say be safe
because again those folks are in town. Yeah, they gave
me a nice greeting. I know they did. Okay, so
you can testify. I can testify to testify. That's right.

(18:41):
Don't be arguing with them either. Just sign that ticket
and go on you or your tail will be locked
up somewhere for get you. And like myself, I thank
God for I got a really good attorney. So yeah,
I got that all handled. All right, Miss Bell. Let's
get it going and get it going right. Let me
first give a super high salute to all of our
police officers, all of our state troopers, especially that guy

(19:04):
that gave me the ticket, Man God bless you, and
all the National Guard that are pulling into town. Men Bell,
we high salute you all. A gift from our great
President Donald Trump. We appreciate that very much. BV is crazy.
Super high salute to all of our firefighters, all the
military folks, those who are active none active. We sincerely

(19:26):
appreciate all that you do. As you know, Miss Bell,
the freedoms that we experience here in the United States
of America, those freedoms are not free. There is a
cost to be paid. Of course, we know there is money,
and unfortunately there is blood lost, lives lost to protect
our freedoms. And we think all those who have served
and who are serving, and those who are retired from service.

(19:48):
All right, miss Bell, we got a few topics today.
I won't give them all out just in case I
run out of time. But one of the main things
I want to share there is a situation that happened
a husband and wife. They called me last week. Their
daughter purchased a car from me a year ago, and uh,

(20:11):
we have agreed. I'm gonna use the alias. The alias
name for the father, We're gonna use Andre. I'm gonna
go into his story here sometime after the break. But
you or someone you may know have has experience or
possibly may experience this. They were they had a vehicle financed,
and the daughter had some challenging challenges paying the payment,

(20:34):
and the car was repossessed. You know, bev Sometimes most
of the times, the banks they will allow you to
get the car current and you can get the car back.
But in this case the bank happens to be Santander.
They says, no, we need the whole balance, the whole
twenty three thousand dollars, and then you can she can

(20:56):
get the car back. They called me for advice of
how to handle that situation. And you're gonna stand by.
You're gonna love the advice, the advice that you can
use for yourself or you can share with someone else.
And we'll talk about that sometime after the break. Also,
Miss Bell. You may know Miss Bell if you're a
sharp sharp study the tax credits, the seventy five one

(21:19):
hundred dollars tax credits that they had for the electric vehicles.
As a matter of fact, you may not know because
when they say electric, you frot to tune the television.

Speaker 9 (21:26):
I did.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
You know, you know, try anything about electric tune now?
And it's so funny. And when we were coming and
it was interesting on Saturday, Tierry not we saw a
lot of those ugly teslas that I don't like, the
cyber truck, like look like a spice a cyber truck,
you know. Okay, when we were going, we saw a

(21:51):
lot I saw. We saw a couple of them. We
were laughing and talking about them. And then when coming back,
I said, folks buying those, Yeah, they're very popular there.
I think a lot of people buy them because they
may be electric fanatics. Then some people buying because they
are tension grappers love them. I like them that you're
gonna they're gonna make you look at them now, I've
been inside. I'm a fan of Tesla, so I'm on

(22:11):
the Tesla team. But I will say this is about
the cyber truck. If you get inside one, it's a
nice truck. I love the technology, but it is nothing
compared to our GMC. Hommer ev EV has a lot
of frills and fabrics and things to touch and do.
The cyber truck is pretty playing. You got a stern
column and a computer screen. That's all you got. And then,
like you said, the one time you say you open

(22:33):
up the front, there's well, yeah, the most of all
your electric vehicles gonna have what they call a fronk
f r a front, so there's no motor in there. Okay,
so they use that electric all electric.

Speaker 9 (22:45):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
We were fortunate and and fortunate to be able to
transport uh, doctor Tracy Hall, the president of Southwest Community College.
She's a delta, I believe. Yeah, she's throwing that simple.
So we have we have the other privilege of transporting
her down the parade route. And most people don't know
that the harmer Ev you can take. You can take

(23:08):
the top off. It's four panels, four glass panels that
come off that way you can stand up and she
can stand up and she can wiveh wow. So yeah,
But anyway, the point I was gonna make is I
was taking those panels off and I was putting them
in the front of the vehicle, the front, and they
were walking around like, where are you putting the where's
the engine? They didn't realize that it was all electric, right,
And for those who don't know, the power source comes

(23:29):
from the battery. The battery runs under the frame of
the vehicle. Most all electric vehicles, the battery is going
to be under the vehicle. That that's the reason why
you have rear and front trunk or front space. Huh.
And the motors you may say, well, what's driving the
tires that, Well, the electric battery is powering the motors

(23:50):
that are tied right to the tires. So you're gonna
have some vehicles have two motors, some have three, and
the most expensive ones will have four for all all
four times. Okay, miss Belvy. Now we were saying about
the tax credit. So yeah, the tax credits. You know,
there has been since two thousand and nine. I think

(24:11):
it was revamped in twenty eleven, but there's been a
seventy five hundred dollars tax credit to assist folks in
owning an all electric car. The Big Beautiful Bill has
won away with those tax credits, so as of yesterday,
September thirtieth, the tax credits are no longer available, So

(24:36):
that seventy five hundred dollars bill that you may could
save on your next electric vehicle is gone. However, Ford
and General Motors they may be able to still assist
you if you're interested in the seventy five hundred dollars
tax credit. We'll talk about that too. So once again
in summary, if you missed the seventy five hundred dollars

(24:59):
tax credit and you want to take advantage of it,
I have a way, a loophole of how you can
take advantage of it, at least until the end of
the year. For sure. I know we'll talk about that also.
Miss we have on the last show a bertleg she
called in and she said asked the question, if I
have one hundred and fifty thousand miles on my vehicle,

(25:19):
can I still get a warranty? And then on the
last show last week last Wednesday, I did advise you can.
It may be expensive for you and I want to
just piggyback on that top once again, just to reiterate,
if you have a vehicle with one hundred and fifty
thousand miles, you can get an extended warranty on that vehicle.

(25:40):
And I even googled it to make for sure, and
if you google it, like the first company that pulled
up is a company called Endurance on my phone and
they say no limit, which which makes me believe you're
gonna pay for it. If you get a warranty with
that many miles on your vehicle, the warranty may be
a little bit expensive. That's why I advise folks to
go back to the dealer where you purchase the vehicle,

(26:01):
allow them to present you warranty, or get with your
credit union. They may be able to also assist you.
If you don't have a source, you can call me
and I can get you connected with the credit union
that can assess you with that extended warranting. And also
been when you have those many miles in your car,
you know, maybe even consider as far as the if

(26:21):
it's a sentimental value vehicle, then what I'm about to
say does not include you, because you're gonna keep it
no matter what. But if it's not a sentimental value vehicle.
Maybe consider just selling it and getting something new with
a warranty. It's the way that I would advise before
I continue, Miss beb is how long before the first break?

Speaker 6 (26:39):
Here?

Speaker 2 (26:39):
Well, we take the first break. Let's do it. YT's

Hey, mister Gary, how you doing? My good friends?

Speaker 11 (29:32):
All right?

Speaker 5 (29:33):
All right?

Speaker 11 (29:33):
I have a couple of courses. One is what is
the requirement? I have a twenty four Sierra and I
was I get these letters about you know, resignas and
I'm not reaching out to him anything, but I started,
you know, just inquiring about it a little bit. Yeah,
so I was trying to see what is the requirements

(29:54):
to have your vehicle or refinement.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
I'm glad you called with that. If you don't mind
the letter you receive, would you mind sharing who is
it from? Who is it coming from?

Speaker 11 (30:05):
I don't have with me. It'd be different letters, you know, like.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
That are they saying warranty or they talking about refinancing.

Speaker 11 (30:12):
It or refinancing Okay, who you know? They like a
black guess at banks or I don't know what they are,
but they be different ones. You know, I even get
them sometimes on my email. I might get checking my email.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Yeah, but I know a lot of people myself in
BEV include a lot of people get those warranty letters.
We get those all day and people will call and say,
I just bought this new carpet. That's sending me a
lot about warrants.

Speaker 11 (30:34):
I said, well, well, I know I read and I
ignore those, George, those are damn right. So here's the
but Jordan scams. And I don't say if you buy
from understanding, if you buy new vehicle, you know, brand
new vehicle, it should come.

Speaker 12 (30:51):
With warranties and and you know insurance and all that.

Speaker 11 (30:55):
Anyway, so I don't understand, I don't I just throw
them in a minute store in.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
The copage, right right, mister Gary. So for those who
don't know how those companies get your information to even
send you that letter. When you purchase a vehicle, of course,
you know your vehicle is registered with the state, and
these companies. They get the information from those registers and
they don't know if you have warranted or not. They
could care less. Matter of fact, if you bought a

(31:21):
new car, they send you the warrant letter and you
buy the warranted they don't care that you got warranty
from the factory because you're you're you're paying them. They're
going to use that money, and if something happens to
the car, guess what they will never have to spend
a time because the manufacturer will pay for the repair.
So let's go back to your original question though, you
asked about what's the requirements to refinance? So here's another

(31:42):
question for you. The bank that Okay, you have a
twenty twenty four GMC era right now, what bank is
financing that vehicle for you? GM Financial? Okay, so if
someone if the bank is sending you, let us to refinance,
you can of course refinance. You've had the vehicle. I

(32:03):
would would assume at least a year. Oh yeah, okay, Okay, Well,
depending on the rate that GM Financial has you at.
Sometimes you can have a pretty good rate with the
manufacturer because a lot of times that we can get
qualified for incentivized rates. And if there's zero percents available.
Sometimes it'll be the manufacturer like GM Financial who will

(32:24):
provide a zero percent financing rate. As a matter of fact,
our twenty twenty five GMC products right now for well
qualified buyers can qualify for zero percent financing up to
thirty six months. You can go to GMC dot com
for more details. But let me go back to your situation.
So if you are considering refinancing, I would suggest to

(32:45):
go to your your credit union. If you don't have one,
you get a hold of me after the show and
I can get you set up. I know several credit unions,
Tiffany Conrad, Lindell Goulsen, a lot of great people who
do take care of customers. But the requirement will be
uh the same as if you were going to buy
the car. You know, if you got you know what
your credit score is, mister mister.

Speaker 11 (33:06):
Gary last I check it with seven, You'll be good.
Is pretty good.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Seven anything is pretty good. In the Memphis market, you
can definitely refinance. I would first identify what your current
interest rate is. If you don't If you don't know it,
no worries, but you know what your rate is right now?

Speaker 11 (33:26):
Thinking about eight eight.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
Eight percent eight. You know, believe eight like the number eight,
like figure eight.

Speaker 11 (33:36):
That's what you're saying, right, got your eight number eight?

Speaker 2 (33:40):
Got you you know? Eight eight percent, mister Gary, in
this market is not a bad rate, to be honest. Now,
people people like Bell who has a thousand her credits
for is nine hundred one thousands. Eight percent may sound high,
but in this market, if you know, a percent is
kind of where it's at. You know it's you know,

(34:00):
I can google over the break with the prime rate
is right now. But eight percent is not terrible. So always,
here's the advice I always give to folks when they
want to buy a car and how fast to pay
it off. I say, when you if you buy a
car and your rate comes back at twenty percent or
somewhere in that neighborhood, you want to pay that off
as quick as possible or keep the car. I mean,

(34:23):
it's funny. I was talking to Stand before I came
into the studio, and Stand always joke jokes about my
line when I say the sweet spot when you finance
a car and it raise a little bit high, there
is a sweet spot. Keep the car somewhere between thirteen
to twenty four payments, eighteen payments eighteen months is the
sweet spot. Thanks Stan for reminding me. That's the sweet spot.

(34:43):
And that's when you should try to either trade in
or refinance. So having said all that, if your rate
was twenty percent, mister Garrett, I would say, yeah, I
go to your bank and try to get a refinanced.
But here's my next line. If your rate is in
the single digits, meaning nine percent or less, you can
actually pay that vehicle as prescribed. If it's sixty months,

(35:06):
seventy two, and sometimes even eighty four months, now go
ahead and pay this prescribe. The bank is not going
to make a whole bunch of money on you. And
eight percent may sound high to folks with super great credit,
but eight percent is pretty good in this market. So
mister Garrett, I would say, maybe call me after the break.
We can talk more in details about your deal in particular.
But you sound like you're in good shape. I don't
know if I would want you to find refinance unless

(35:27):
you can, you know, get it down to five percent.

Speaker 11 (35:30):
Okay, But let me ask you this. You will mentioned
something about the twenty twenty five uh GMC before you
went into you know, a course.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
Yeah, yeah, well yeah, let me reiterate. So if you
go to you can go to GMC dot com to
see this. Go to GMC dot com. And right now
they're twenty twenty five Sierra pickup trucks and I think
are pretty much all their product, the twenty twenty five models.
You can get zero two percent financing for thirty six months. Now,

(36:05):
folks who want to go in and pay cash, that's
someone I say. If you want to keep your money
in the bank and use the manufacture and the bank's
you know, money, go ahead and buy the truck, no
matter your pocket It'll be zero percent for thirty six months.
That way you can keep your money safe and secure
for those Now here's the caveat though, if you qualify

(36:25):
for that, your payment is going to be a little
bit higher. So let me let me do. Let me
do some quick math for you, real quick. For those
who are listening who don't go to dealerships all the time,
they don't know what the cost of vehicles are. So
let me type in here a seventy thousand dollars truck
divided by thirty six months. Your payment will be zero
percent financing now, but you'll be paying nineteen hundred and
forty four dollars a month for thirty six months at
zero percent financing. So that's the only if there's a

(36:48):
downside you get, your payment is going to be pretty heavy.
But if you can, if you can qualify for zero
percent financing, then of course you would qualify for the
whatever the lowest APR that's available. You would get that
interest rate, which I don't I'll trust to find out
what that is. I don't want to miss quote.

Speaker 11 (37:06):
What would it be if, like if I trained the
twenty four in the twenty five, Well, you can do that.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
Your scores are high enough to do that. You can
do that. Now. My question would be because you know,
I operate like a salesman. I talk like a salesman,
but I actually get paid a salary, so I have
no Well, I keep saying that I have an incentive
for you to come by my store, the Sunrise store
in Barlets, to buy because I get a I get
the market check in my box when you buy a
car and you work with me. But I would ask

(37:36):
the question, why would you want to to trade in
if you have a twenty four, why would you want
to go to a twenty five.

Speaker 11 (37:44):
Well, the one I have, I love it. If you
don't have a sun roof on it, Okay, well I
wanted the some roop in at the time that I
you know, got to twenty four D in the in
the call and everything. The only thing that didn't have
it didn't have these. You got the montap functional or
tail date and everything like I wanted.

Speaker 2 (38:05):
Yeah, and it's not that that just you know, is
it an elevation. It's probably an elevation maybe or s
L I had.

Speaker 11 (38:13):
I had the elevation proud to that one. I had,
I had the elevation proud.

Speaker 9 (38:17):
To that one.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
So you got the vation.

Speaker 11 (38:19):
You have an s L team, Yeah, you work at GMC.

Speaker 2 (38:23):
Yeah, I'm in here at GMC, Yes, sir. The sunrise
in Bartlett sunrise yeh, sunrise at wolf Chase on Highway
sixty four. We're not far from the wolf Chase mall. Yeah.
So before you hang up. So that's actually if if
that's your reason, that's a legitimate, good reason. You're not

(38:44):
just trying to trade just to be trading, but you
want some equipment because of course, you know the sunroof,
You're going to get some more equipment with that so
I want you to come out and visit with me,
and if nothing else allowed me to demonstrate the product,
we can test drive the product and make for sure
it's something that you want to do, and then we'll
go over the numbers of what we can say. When
I was gonna let me also add this here, I
was in the meeting this morning and Ryan, the general

(39:05):
manager of the Sunrise store at Barlotte. We are the
number one buick GMC store in the mid South, the
number one. We're crushing everybody else. He wants to do
much better in our GMC numbers. So you, mister Gary,
can take advantage of that. You can say I heard
Terry on the radio. I heard mister Ryan that you
want to sell more GMCs and get him involved to

(39:26):
make for sure we get you the best deal going.
So reach out to me today or whenever you can,
and let me try to put some numbers together for you.

Speaker 11 (39:35):
Okay, So lose, I got myners off the covering pipe over.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
Yeah, that's fine, that's fine. I don't know if I
told you, Miss Bell, but Lithia the store that the company,
the Fortune five hundred company that bought us last year June.
They bought our store in the Carville Sunrise store. This
past June, the same Lythia company bought the Mercedes Benz
in Cardoville, So yeah, we have they have all those
stores down. And they also bought the Mercedes Benz store

(40:00):
and Jackson too. But anyway, mister Gary, let me give
you my number now, I'll give it again at the
end of the show if you should miss it. My
telephone number is nine zero one six seven two four
four two. To give me a call or send me
a text. And uh, let's set up an appointment and
I'll give you a v I p uh show of
the of the new of the new GMCs. You will, Gary,

(40:23):
he will give you the v I P treatment Gary,
and he will give you some popcorn.

Speaker 11 (40:28):
That's right, that's I'm a big fan of.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
Okay, thank you Gary for this, Gary, all right and
YouTube Bye bye, w d I a hi caller, Yes, sir,

Speaker 2 (44:20):
Okay, that's right, all right, and call me if they do.
I do. Thank you, little daddy, Thank you so much, Terry.
This email. Let me get this email in here for you,
and it says, mister Terry, do you believe the Toyota
land Cruiser or the Toyota for Runner good vehicles to lease?

(44:47):
What are the pros and cons for these vehicles? And leasing? Awesome?
And leasing was one of my topics. So let's get
into this. When people call me about vehicles that I
don't specialize in, when I say specialize, I may sell
them brand new. Of course, I sell any vehicle pre owned.

(45:08):
Prince y'all's, even Lamborghini's. He always gets a kick out
of that. In this market, if vehicles are not first class,
if they don't have the latest and greatest technology. If
they're not hardened with great warranty programs, if their maintenance
program is not streamlined to match those of the entire market,

(45:29):
they're going to lose market share. They're going to be
put out of business. I said all that to say this,
most all brand new cars coming from the manufacturers, they
have to be great product or they won't make it
in the marketplace. So if it's Toyota, if it's Lexus,
if it's Mercedes, Lincoln, whatever brand you favor, those vehicles

(45:55):
are going to be great products or they will not
make it in the marketplace. Going to towards the question
of leasing, I'm glad you brought that up email my
email guest here, so people are not always one hundred
percent sure leases and how it works and how can
they benefit from it, And I'm glad you pose that

(46:15):
email because that is actually in my notes here today.
Now the Toyota products, the land Cruiser. You said land cruise,
what was the elements be off? There was the Toyota
Forerunner and the land and Toyoda land Cruiser, both great
products I used to love as a teenager. I remember
those vehicles coming I used to love those products. So

(46:38):
I always tell folk, if you know what you can afford,
you have a certain budget every month that you want
to spend on your car. But all of us, we'll
be lying if we don't say we all like bells
and whistles and buttons and knobs, even if we don't
use them all. We want to be able to say
we got it. And if you're one of those folks
who like thee and I'm not suggesting that these Toyota

(47:00):
PROCs are super high end, they can be for some.
But let's say you want all the bills and whistles,
but your budget doesn't allow you to be able to
buy that, Leasing may be a good option for you.
Leasing allows a person to get a more expensive vehicle
than they would usually retail purchase. You can get it

(47:21):
in a lease. And so I don't confuse folks, I'm
gonna keep this super simple. When you go to buy
a car or retail purchase. To finance a car, you're
buying the whole car. If the car is listed for
fifty thousand dollars, you're gonna be financing that fifty thousand dollars.
I'm rounding this off of course, you know you got

(47:41):
taxes and fees. Will it just stick with fifty thousand dollars.
You're gonna pay that fifty thousand dollars over seventy two months.
And of course, when you retail financed that vehicle, it's depreciating,
meaning by the time you finish paying it off, it's
not gonna be worth fifty thousand dollars. It's probably gonna
be worth, you know, seventy eighty percent less in value
by the time you know, you finish paying it off.

(48:03):
In some cases, now, leasing is a little bit different. Leasing,
you're actually, let's use it for simple math. Let's stick
with this fifty thousand dollars leasing the vehicle, you're not
paying for the actual vehicle. You're gonna be paying for
the depreciation for the time that you have it. Most
people lease their vehicles for about three years, that's the normal,

(48:27):
about three years or so. In those three years, you're
not paying fifty thousand and I'm making them numbers here,
but you're paying for the three years of depreciation. So
whatever that vehicle is going to depreciate in three years,
that's what you're paying for, plus the fees and the
taxes of course, So having said that and keeping everything

(48:48):
simple so I don't lose you, leasing allows you to
buy a more expensive vehicle because you're only paying for
the depreciation of it for three years. So it's a
good route to go. But let me also, when people say, well,
I want to do that, I say, I have to
ask them a few more questions, and one of the
main questions is how many miles a year do you drive?

(49:11):
And if you have only one car and you drive
twenty thousand miles a year, I would suggest I would
advise a lease may not be the best route for
you to go. On the flip side, let's say you
have two cars, and let's say you still drive twenty
thousand miles a year, but you can flip from one

(49:31):
car to the other. That means that you can drive
on each car about ten thousand miles a year. You,
my friend, might be a great candidate for a lease,
so consider it. And somebody may say, well, how do
you qualify? You qualify for a lease the same way
you would in a retail purchase a finance deal. So

(49:53):
consider if you want all the bells and whistles, or
if you want to have a new car every two
or three years. My good friends mister Lenny and Betty Jackson,
they retire from General Motors every twenty four months. I
see them and they trade out for the next car
and they and one of the main reasons why they
leave for twenty four months, they says Terry, we are

(50:15):
always under the manufacturers wanted. We never have to spend
a dime to fix anything. I hope I answer that
question is be able to go on and on anything
else before I move forward here, Well, before you move
forward forward, let's bring let's do it. Let's bet break
good show. As I'm looking more emails are coming out.
I love it, so we will break and yeah, if
you all can questions, let me give you my email.

(50:38):

(55:17):

Speaker 5 (55:18):
Tell them.

Speaker 2 (55:18):
Bev Johnson sent you to the Rocking Chair of Memphis.
And we're back with our automotive specialists, Terry Spicer, Terry
my Beautiful Radio Hall of Famer and National Black Radio

(55:41):
Hall of Fame, and duge Bev Johnson. What you got,
miss Beth? Oh, I had an email for you. Yes,
let me get let me get it, let me get
it all right, and it says BEV. Great show. Well,
thank you, thank you, says Bev. I got a new
twenty twenty four buick Encore GX from Sunrise on Highway

(56:02):
sixty four with Terry and Anthony almost a year ago
on the five K rebate to be exact at the
end of November last year. I'm already at twenty six K,
so I've been rolling. My question is should I trade
or refinance it before reaching thirty six K? If I refinance,

(56:25):
will that eliminate trading out of it within a year
or two. My credit has dropped slightly due to a
lot inquiries, which I'm working on removing, and of course
my utilization has increased also, but I have a great
pay history, no late flags on my credit report. I
went from six point forty six score to a six sixteen.

(56:50):
I'm financed through Capital one. By the way, what are
my options? Terry? Thank you and miss Greer, Yes, okay,
thank you so much for those details. When she when
you were reading and you said before she reached thirty
six K, I think what she's meaning is you have
two warranties. You have a powertrain warranty that's five years,

(57:12):
sixty thousand miles that covers the engine, the transmission, or
anything that motor ore comes in contact with is covered
under that five year, sixty thousand miles. And then you
have a three year, thirty six thousand miles bumper to
bumper that covers everything else. And I believe the reason
why she said that is because she wants to stay
under the warranty, the three year, thirty six thousand miles

(57:32):
bumper to bumper warranty. So the question she's asking should
she refinance or should she trade? Every situation is going
to be different. I would you gave some great information,
some great details, So thank you for that. I always
like to get with people to really get more details
from it. But let me just give a blanket response here. So,
if she bought a vehicle, her scores were higher when

(57:53):
she bought it a year ago. They've dropped some now
that you're still in the sixties though, And uh oh,
and believe it or not, in the sixes in the
Memphis market is not bad. I hate to say that,
but you know, if you're in the sixties year actually, okay,
a lot of the credit unions, if you have a
six hundred score a higher, you can buy a car
through the most of the credit unions or even refinance.

(58:13):
So if you want to refinance it, that is an
option for you. You're gonna most likely get a better
interest rate. I would encourage you to get an extended
warranty through your credit union. Now, the dealerships, we can't refinance,
the only thing we can do is trade you out.
If you don't have a relationship with the credit union,

(58:34):
you can also give me a call. I know several
credit unions that can assist you in refinancing your vehicle. Now,
if you want to trade out and get into another vehicle, yes,
that will be an option for you. I would want
you to find this. See not sure if you got
negative equity if you had a five thousand dollar rebate.
The only reason I wouldn't know that if you didn't
have a trade in with negative equity, you might be

(58:57):
in an equity or a break even point where you
have no negative equity. But if you traded something in
and negative equity carried over in the five thousand dollars
rebate a year ago, help clean up some of that
negative equity. You still may be carrying a little negative equity,
but you can trade into another vehicle with a with
a rebate that can do the same thing, cleanup negative equity,

(59:18):
and you can get going there. So it sounds to
me like you have options. You can either refinance or
trade it in. Miss Greer, give me a call or
stop by. Allow me to give you a tailor made
worksheet with numbers on it, so you can make an
educated decision on should you refinance it or should you
trade in MS. Beth going to our phone lines to

(59:38):
talk with you. Thank you for waiting. Hi caller, Hi,
call are you there? I think I heard somebody sleep. Yeah,
come on, Clyde, come on me, Hey, Clyde, what's going on?
My friend?

Speaker 1 (59:58):
I just want to ask.

Speaker 13 (59:59):
Of course, let's do it your opinion. There have the
cloud market change in it since uh Donald Trump been
an office. I just want to know how to come
of be doing on the cloud market. And I'm gonna
sit back and this.

Speaker 2 (01:00:14):
Yeah, thank your closside. I appreciate it. Yeah, as of today, yes,
the market did change. The seventy five one hundred dollars
Evy rebate that people have been enjoying for over a
decade went away yesterday. Wow that has changed in regards
to the general marketplace. Uh, you know, inflation is real,

(01:00:35):
Inflation is gonna be. Inflation will happen no matter who's
in who's in the White House. So everything gets expensive, bread, milk,
you know, cars, everything gets expensive over time. I gave
a I was telling telling you missed last week, miss baby.
I was going to a sign company so to order
some magnets, which I didn't get, but I was gonna
order some magnets for for the for the parade this weekend.

(01:00:56):
Last year, the magnet one magnet cost me thirty five dollars,
but they say this year if I had ordered, if
I had gotten it, it was going to be fifty dollars,
So one up fifteen dollars. So inflation exists for any
and everything. But Clyde, I'm trying to think of anything
significant other than that we were now we don't now
we do not have the seventy five hundred dollars rebate

(01:01:18):
for electric vehicles, but nothing significant, nothing to where someone
can point the fingers is because of this person. This
is happening. I did. I also, here's a side note
off the subject. Little bit I was reading misbeb Amazon.
You know you can go to Amazon dot com and
order most anything. You know, you can go on Amazon
right now. I believe they have an affiliation with Hyundai,

(01:01:41):
not Honda, with it that ends in a but Hyundai.
Hy You can go to Amazon and look at what
they I guess what they call it a virtual showroom,
and look at all the Hyundai products. But I read
an article today that Amazon and Hurts are about to
do a deal to where you can buy a car
online through Amazon. You have a body thing from Amazon. Yes,

(01:02:03):
I have pretty convenient. Yes, yeah, because I because I
like it coming to your door, that's right. I don't
have to go out trying to find it and order
it online. I need to stay offline and and and
it comes to your door, that's right. I don't think
a car is going to be delivered to your door,
but they are. Well okay, well, well that's what I

(01:02:23):
was saying. They do that, but I don't know about that.

Speaker 1 (01:02:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
Well, and the reason I said I don't know about that, Terry,
is because I'd rather for be it a dealership for
a people where you all can check out the car
and see what's going on, because just bring in a
car to be something could be wrong with. Well, let
me say this here in Carvana's defense, because the company
I work for, a Lithia, we also have that service.

(01:02:47):
You can actually go on line by a car. It
could be delivered to you or you can pick up
the dealership. Okay. Safety that you have is if if
if a vehicle is delivered to you and it's not
one hundred percent to your satisfy, satisfaction or or there's
a scratch and I be a scratch, you will have
the right to turn that vehicle around. But when your vehicle,
when your vehicle came in, Miss Bev, if you saw
something you didn't like, you could have walked away and

(01:03:09):
it would have been nothing attached to your deal or you.
You could have walked away free and clear. Right yeah, right, okay,
good uh And I'm gonna go back to her line.
But miss mss Grill said, I'm listening, bab, and I
got the vehicle zero down, zero down, okay zero? Did
you trade? I wanted if she trade something?

Speaker 7 (01:03:26):
Though?

Speaker 2 (01:03:27):
Did she carry? She's listening, so ask her send me
a text mees MS Grill text me at nine zero
one six seven two four four two two. You and
I can converse through texts and we will't bother. Bell
and I can give information to you back over the air,
and I appreciate you for doing that. That's all right.

(01:03:47):
Back to our phone lines. W D I a high caller.

Speaker 8 (01:03:52):
He ain't get up the dell Cherry.

Speaker 2 (01:03:57):
Golden girl heard that voice.

Speaker 8 (01:04:00):
Yes, sir, hey Terry, you trust on something that caught
my attention about those warranties. That's bombard in the mail
when you buy a car. I'm wondering, is this something
in fine print that we don't take the time to
read when we're purchasing a vehicle. Could that gives them

(01:04:21):
the right to sell our information? Or is it something
that the state does because is that really public information?
Like if someone get arrested and go to court, you
get bombarded with letters from their attorney. But that's public information.
So it's us buying a car public information that they

(01:04:42):
can sell our information the sales tactics.

Speaker 2 (01:04:48):
No one is selling information, you hear me, Well, how
do they get it? The state is reagitered with the state.
Now I'll get I don't work at the state, hadn't
been to the office. I'm not sure how it works,
but that's where they getting the information from your vehicle
is registered with the state.

Speaker 8 (01:05:03):
Just wondering, is it you don't have the right to
do that.

Speaker 2 (01:05:06):
I'll find out that my attorney to do with voting. Yeah,
I'm not pretend to be attorney. I would try to
find that information out for it, I know.

Speaker 8 (01:05:13):
I just you just made me think about it, so
I thought I asked the question, maybe if you think
about it. Maybe you can take the time to find out.
Why don't you sign.

Speaker 2 (01:05:25):
Girl, Do me a favor, Do me a favor. You do,
You're a smart lady. You do some investigating and get
back with me if it's putting it back on because
you're my good friend. I'm trying to delegate some some
really good information that you're gonna help me with. Find
out for us if it's legal for when you register
your car. Is that information public or not? And you

(01:05:47):
called me back, call me back before I leave the
show today, show people how sharp how fast you can
get this information.

Speaker 8 (01:05:51):
I have time today, but I can look into it.
I try to. I try to research something because it's interesting.
It's an interesting question, you know. And people are buying
cars and being bombarded with sales taxtics if some of
it look very real and.

Speaker 2 (01:06:07):
Legit, you know, yeah, you know, think about this. Though
you get junk mail for all kinds of stuff. We
get junk mail for people.

Speaker 8 (01:06:16):
Just what I'm saying, we don't need nothing extra, Yeah,
we don't need anything extra. You know, this is state.
You know they get through information on the state. So
why are they giving that information? Hey, Gold and Good
bought a car, you know. Yeah, people get to make money.

Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
Yeah, I know we're trying to create.

Speaker 8 (01:06:35):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:06:35):
I was gonna say you, I love you. You know
I love you. Always come and visit with me. We
talk off the air, so I love you. I'll try
to do a little, a little big enough how that
process works.

Speaker 11 (01:06:44):
I will Toru.

Speaker 8 (01:06:45):
It's just you know, I'm not curious about something I do.
Do that anyway.

Speaker 2 (01:06:52):
I will be looking for calling me back with some updates,
looking for an update.

Speaker 8 (01:06:57):
That's right, our smart, our smart caller. That's if he
don't call, then I will leave with some information on it.

Speaker 11 (01:07:05):
All right, girl, all right, Belle, thank you, bye bye.

Speaker 2 (01:07:10):
W d I a Hi?

Speaker 8 (01:07:13):
Call her?

Speaker 2 (01:07:16):
Hi, call her? Hey, Hey, Larry, have a question for Terry.

Speaker 11 (01:07:21):
Yes, yes, Look, let me tell you the car.

Speaker 6 (01:07:26):
Business is just like an everyday life, whether you're gonna
take care of yourself or not. And that's the car
business you're gonna go in. There be sincere about buying
a car and your budget and whatnot. I mean this
every day anything that you have to do to live

(01:07:48):
taken as an every day leave experience.

Speaker 11 (01:07:53):
Compotter yourself.

Speaker 6 (01:07:54):
Look at you been talking into you knowful go by
the day and then to months later they have to
come pick it up because you done overdid your budget
and blah blah blah blah blah. But as far as
what that woman talking about, I'm gonna tell her something.
I bought a house one time and by them two

(01:08:17):
or three months later, I was gonna go get ready
to go get another sports car, and the men at
the corn I come back and say, look, she say,
you just bought a house, and we see that you
gotta a hundred thousand dollars Lamborghini. I said, ma'am, I

(01:08:39):
don't bet them, don't make come ben.

Speaker 8 (01:08:41):
You got me messed up.

Speaker 6 (01:08:43):
He said, well, it's in your name and it's on
your credit, but they can. They can. You ain't behind that.
I said, man, what you talking about?

Speaker 9 (01:08:56):
But people can get you.

Speaker 6 (01:08:59):
And it has been Yeah, man, I'm talking about over
forty years ago when I had good credit. I ain't
got good crik. I'm lying. I still got good but
but at the same.

Speaker 9 (01:09:09):
Time people can.

Speaker 6 (01:09:11):
Technology is something, and it ain't just starting. It ain't
just starting. It ain't got nothing to do with the
car lot, it ain't got nothing to do with the salesman.
It's got something to do with high tech people that's
trying to do crooked stuff. But it ain't.

Speaker 8 (01:09:27):
It ain't.

Speaker 6 (01:09:28):
Don't be scared going to the car play. I mean
they probably don't know know much of you know about
what's going on behind scenes. But at the same time, people,
you do not have no privacy your smart phone tell
you that.

Speaker 9 (01:09:42):
I mean, you probably see it.

Speaker 6 (01:09:46):
It's crazy the way things is. But life, people is
if you don't take your life serious, people gonna take
advantage of you. Plumblain some money.

Speaker 2 (01:09:57):
Thank you, Larry W. D. I a high call.

Speaker 12 (01:10:01):
Miss Bess Johnson got a wonder to show a get.

Speaker 1 (01:10:04):
I mean when you go to girl call her she
just opened up a can of work, all right, and
you know something is jonesy. That's not my asset.

Speaker 12 (01:10:18):
I mean, these credit brews and stuff like that. You
got all your information, all these people they talking about
the state man to me is the credit company.

Speaker 1 (01:10:27):
They know all your bids.

Speaker 12 (01:10:28):
I wanted they tap it in this information because I
know I'll be talking about stuff to people and next
thing I know, they said, and showing papers come to
me or car dealerships. Tape start coming in and nail,
I said, why this comes from?

Speaker 1 (01:10:43):
But Terry.

Speaker 12 (01:10:45):
When I do that thing on the left or any
other company. Is the limited loss still in effect? Yes,
so I won't have no problem else I'm riding the
car for a couple of.

Speaker 9 (01:10:58):
Weeks and bam, something go down out on it.

Speaker 12 (01:11:01):
I can't get all my money back and turn it
back in.

Speaker 2 (01:11:06):
If it falls, if it falls under the limit law, yes.

Speaker 5 (01:11:13):
So.

Speaker 2 (01:11:14):
Lemon laws are consuming protection laws, both stayed in federal
that require manufacturers to repair, repurchase, or replace a vehicle
that has persistent defects, often within a specific time frame
or after a certain number of repair attempts. To qualify
for relief. Under these laws, the defects must substantially impair

(01:11:36):
the vehicle's use, value or safety, and must be fixed
by the manufacturer after a reasonable number of attempts or
a specified period. Yes, to answer your question, Oh.

Speaker 11 (01:11:50):
My god, you mean to tell me I just can't
turn in and get my money back.

Speaker 6 (01:11:53):
I got to go get it repair.

Speaker 9 (01:11:55):
All ain't here?

Speaker 6 (01:11:56):
Thank you, Thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:11:58):
I forget your computer and digital crapy.

Speaker 2 (01:12:02):
Have you too unforgetful? So let me revisit. We go
to girl. So you know one thing about one thing
about In today's time, someone can call with a question
on the radio, even if the guests doesn't have the answer.
We can google stuff pretty quickly here. So this may
open up a bigger can of words. And I'm not
going to read it all because I want to go
to a girl calling back. So it says warranty companies

(01:12:24):
get your information through public records such as state Department
of Motor Vehicles, the m V data that can be
it can be sourced from third parties. I'll leave it there.
So Golden girl, you got your work cut out for you.
Maybe maybe maybe you and I need to go down
to to uh the state capitol and see if we

(01:12:44):
can get some laws to work and keep our information
private and protecting. You know, California, that state there, you
know they have their own set of rules. If you're
in California, let me not open that up. But California
operates really different from a lot of a lot of
the other states. But Golden Girl, that is a big
topic that it's not we don't have the time for today.
But that's where the information comes from and who's actually

(01:13:07):
sending that information to these companies. That's a whole nother
As Unforgetful said, that's a whole other can of worms. Ms. Beth,
we will break Terry's boy. They working you day, brother,
I love it, I love it. Y'all working Terry today.
Terry is here for our first time. Listeners are automotive specialists.

(01:13:29):
As we ask the expert, something you want to know
about the car tier it, Well, we'll let you know.
If you don't, he'll find out five three five, nine
three four two eight hundred and five zero three nine
three four two eight three three five three five nine
three four two will get you in to us. You're
listening to double you D I A.

Speaker 7 (01:13:53):
You're listening to the BEV Johnson Show.

Speaker 11 (01:13:55):
That's you BEV on w d IAV show.

Speaker 2 (01:14:40):
You're listening to the BEV Johnson Show. Here's Bev Johnson
and we're asking the expert. Our expert is our automotive specialists,
Terry Spicer. Terry, thank you, Ms Bev. Before I go
into my topics, there are two topics we're going to
visit before we close the program today, and that's going
to be some information on tax credits, Ford and General motors.

(01:15:02):
They have what I like to call a loophole to
allow you to still achieve the seventy five hundred dollars
tax credit on your next electric vehicle purchase. We'll talk
about that. Plus I have a story I want to
share with you by a young lady who got behind
her car payments to the bank, says, pay us the
whole twenty three thousand dollars or give or we're gonna
just keep this car and send it to the auction.
We're gonna talk about the advice I gave to help

(01:15:23):
those people. But let me go back and revisit something
Golden Girls stirring up stuff and unforgetful calling in co signing.
So was I was talking with Beb over the break
about you know, the largest companies in the world today
are data companies Facebook, Google, Meta. It's a company called Alphabet.

(01:15:44):
It owns YouTube and Google, and of course Facebook is
owned by the parent company Meta, you know. And these
companies they get your information through social media, they collect
it all and then they use that information to sell
you stuff or to advertise advertised to you the same
thing that Golden Girls she called. If you just joined
the show, Golden Girl, she called and said, hey, I

(01:16:05):
heard you talking on the beginning of the show when
you were saying that we get these letters in the
mail about warranties and how do they get that information.
I was reiterating that they get their information because when
you buy anything, when you buy a car, boat, motorcycle,
those vehicles are boats and all are registered with the state.
The state has all that information. Now when the state

(01:16:29):
gets that information. I have not been to the state
to the office to see what foul cabinets sitting in
or what computer databases sit again, but that's where it's
at and that's how these companies get your data. Now.
Her question was kind of saying, well, do we have
protections on that now? Again, I haven't been to the state.

(01:16:50):
I would definitely want to get with your state representative
and let them fight that fight for you. I was
also saying that a state like California the very progressive
and their laws are really protective of their of their citizens.
And I even need a little search here about California laws.
How are they different or why are they different? It
says California laws are notably different due to its progressive nature,

(01:17:16):
extensive regulations, unique state constitution, and a legislative body known
for creating unique statutes, particularly in areas like employment, internet law,
and environmental protection and civil rights. Key examples include its
higher minimum wage, extensive paid leave policies, strict rules on

(01:17:40):
non compete clauses, and early adoption of consumer data privacy measures.
And that last line is, you know, in California, the
certain things that companies can't do, they can't come in
and collect their information. Now that's a good question. I
need to find out from someone who lives in California.
Maybe BEYV knows someone to see if they get those
warrant letter, because that'll be a tell tale sign that

(01:18:02):
may suggest that someone has visited with these the legislators
to make it to where companies can't get your information
to try to sell you warranted. So, Golden Girl, you're
a new assignment. Me and Bev we've done a little work.
The new assignment is to find out if anyone who
lives in California if they get those warranty letters. Let's
find that out first and we'll dig in. So on

(01:18:22):
the next show, we're gonna have some good information and
it's gonna be led by our none other than our
famous Golden Girl. So miss Bell, let me jump into
these other topics real quick. Anything happening before I do
so no, okay. So, if you missed out on the
seventy five hundred dollars tax credit for EV's, I want

(01:18:43):
you to check this out. Here is a way that
you can still take advantage of this. This article comes
from Car and Driver. It was published yesterday. The title
of it is Ford and GM are trying to extend
the seventy five hundred dollars federal EV tax credit. The
two auto giants are working with dealers on a program

(01:19:04):
that prolongs leasing, and it is for leasing. Let me
highlight that this is not for purchase. Were for leasing
that prolongs leasing incentives for several months. Let's see here,
let's get to the need agree to here. So, as
of yesterday, the last day before the federal EV tax
credit it has expired. People who buy or lease electric

(01:19:32):
vehicle from the list of eligible models will no longer
receive a seventy five hundred dollars discount. However, Ford and
General Motors are working on a short term solution that
will allow customers to take advantage of the incentive for
at least the next several months, though it would only

(01:19:52):
be available through leasing of hy I just leasing. Details
about the programs were first reported by Routers, which cites
a combination of dealers and documents. The outlet claims that
Ford and GM's finance departments will purchase EV's from dealer
inventory with a down payment, making them eligible for the

(01:20:17):
tax credit. Those vehicles can then be leased to customers
throughout the rest of the year, with the seventy five
hundred dollars helping reduce the costs of the lease and
I'll go to the ending here. While the outgoing tax
credit only apply to specific electric vehicles and plug in hybrids,

(01:20:39):
it was widely considered a helpful way to encourage people
to switch from gas powered cars to EV's. With the
Trump administration passing the One Big Beautiful Bill, the federal
subsidy will go away, along with removing the thirty five
to fifty credit for plug in hybrid vehicles and the

(01:21:02):
four thousand dollars credit for buying a used EV. While
the Ford F one P fifty Lightning was the brand's
only EV eligible for the incentive, GM has a considerably
longer list that includes the Cadillac Lyric Optic Vistic, as
well as electric versions of the GMC Sierra and the

(01:21:24):
Chevy Blazer. Equinox and Silverado. Car and Driver has reached
out to both companies to confirm the programs, and while
neither provided more specific details, representatives from FOURD and GM
each said that the details and the Routers report are accurate. So,
in summary, if you are in the market for an

(01:21:45):
EV and you wanted to take advantage of the seventy
five hundred dollars rebate for it in general motors, I
would imagine select dealerships can still provide that for you.
So reach out to me for more information telephone number
nine oh one six seven two four four two two.
Now let's move here, Miss bev No, you've been waiting

(01:22:08):
for this particular story. Here, let me give for those
who may have just joined us anything happening now for
those who have just joined us a good friends of mine,
for the sake of their privacy, we have agreed. We're
gonna call the father. We're gonna use the name Andre.
It's his middle name, by the way, We're gonna go
with Andre.

Speaker 11 (01:22:27):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:22:27):
Well, anyway, the daughter a year ago, just over a
year ago, purchased a vehicle. That vehicle was financed through
Santander And like many of us, you know, sometimes the
rough patches happens to all of us. She had a
rough patch and she missed several payments and the car

(01:22:47):
was repossessed. And a lot of times, as you know,
the bank will say the three payments you're behind or
whatever that dollar amount you're behind on, you pay that
dollar amount and we'll give you the car back. In
this situation, Santander said, I don't know all the details
of why it came to this, and I'm sure there's
some information that I don't have, but they said, no,

(01:23:10):
we need the whole twenty three thousand dollars or we're
going to send into the auction and then whatever we
get forward, you'll owe the balance and we're going to
put that on your credit. So the family called me
and said, hey, what do we do in this situation?
They want the whole balance, and I said, wow, that's
that's strong that they're asking them for the entire balance.

(01:23:31):
So I made a couple suggestions. The first suggestion that
I said is you could go to your bank, your
credit union and allow them to refinance the car. Maybe
a little bit more technical to go that route, because
they need to get to the bank that the credit
union needs to get the ven number some other information

(01:23:51):
to do the refinance. So I says, or has I
already had an idea that Andre had good credit? I says, or,
you can go to the credit union and get yourself
a signature loan. So I made the connection for them
with a credit union that I know does really good job,
and we talked today this morning, and the good news

(01:24:14):
is they decided to go with the signature loan. And
this is how this works because Andre his concern is, well,
you know, I'm gonna do this to help my daughter,
but I don't want to. I need the insurance and
everything needs to still be in my daughter's name and
not in my name. And the way it works out
is he's getting the He has gotten the signature loan

(01:24:35):
for the twenty three thousand dollars. The money has already
been sent to Santander, which means the car is just
going to be paid off. So the title was in
the daughter's I think it was in the daughter and
mom's name. Mom co signed with her, so the title
was coming still in mom and daughter's name, so they
they essentially own the car outright, and now the daughter

(01:24:57):
has to pay Dad the loan. But here's the good
news to that the daughter's interest rate on that car
when she purchased it a little over a year ago
is about I want it was twenty percent, somewhere in
the twenty It was a little high. Well, because dad
has great credit and he has a signature loan, and
he essentially owns the well they owned the car, but

(01:25:17):
he's the new bank. As he kind of jokingly said,
the interest rate went from twenty percent down to twelve
a little over twelve percent. So she's saving almost a
couple hundred dollars a month with him doing the signature loan.
So whatever strains or stresses she had paying the six
hundred and some odd dollars a month, it should be

(01:25:37):
more manageable for her now. To summarize for you, So
you saying, well, how can I use this information if
you are in this situation, or you know someone that's
in this situation, maybe you can take that line of
attack to where you can connect with your bank, your
credit union to see if they will allow you to
you or someone a significant other of you could actually

(01:26:00):
do a signature loan or just simply refinance the car
to bring that payment down. A lot of folks you
know as missus Greer, we're actually texting here as she
was just asking what's the best route for her, and
I was just texting her back. When you look at
this message, so I can. I like to always share information,
Miss Bell because it can help. You never know who's
listening who may need that help. Okay, so we are

(01:26:21):
what we need to do. According to Ms Grier, I
do remember her. She sent me the photograph that I
took of her when she took possession of the car.
So what she is going to do. The first thing
I need for her to do is to bring the
vehicle by to see me. My first objective for her,
or or if you're listening, if you're gonna if you
have a similar situation where you want to trade or refinance.

(01:26:42):
Let's say you want to trade the car, you want
to go whatever vehicle you want to trade it for.
You want to go buy that dealership and they need
to appraise that car and give you all the money
for it. So Miss Grier's gonna stop by get the
vehicle praise. I'm gonna maximize the value for that vehicle.
And she bought it from us, and of course we

(01:27:03):
would love to have a buick Encore GX back in
our used car inventory. We would rather buy it from
our customer versus going to the auction. The auction's gonna
cost us more money. We can spend less money. I mean,
how do I put this. We're not bidding in an auction.
We're not bidding against five or six other people to

(01:27:23):
buy a car, which drives the price up. We're just
buying it from one person. We can give her a
good fair price for that. And someone may say, well,
how can I determine what a good fair price in
my car is? You can simply go to KBB. Kelly
Blue Book is one of the websites. Go to KBB
dot com, look for the tab that says what's my
car worth? And you want to click on trade in

(01:27:45):
and that gives you a good idea what your car
is worth to make for sure you're getting a really
good value and that's the number that we'll fight for.
Or any dealership you go to. If you have that knowledge,
then you kind of push the dealership up against the
wall to give you all them give me all the
money for my car are because if you go in
not knowing what that value is, they make under cut
your one thousand and two. It happens to be just

(01:28:06):
to be honest with you. So Ms Greer, I look
forward to seeing you. What is this text here? Okay? Good?
So you're gonna try to visit with me Monday through Friday,
off Saturday and Sunday. Okay, you just let me know
whenever I work every day, I will come in on
a Sunday, but I try to take off on Sundays.
When I work every day, I'm always available to assist humans. BEV,

Speaker 1 (01:28:25):

Speaker 2 (01:28:25):
So miss BEBV has kind of giving that eyeball. Look
I need I need to come to a close. The
eyes start getting big. She's about to bring that wolf
of ball back out of her person. So let me
get my clothes an information before she runs me out
of here. My telephone number nine zero one six seven
to two four four two two. You can call me
or text me my office location. I am located at

(01:28:48):
the Sunrise at wolf Chase Sunrise in Bartlet. We share
the same intersection as the SAMs and Walmart in Bartlett,
the same corner not far from the wolf Chase Galleria
on eighty five hundred Highway sixty four. If you're going
on the interstate like you're going to Nashville, get off

(01:29:08):
on exit eighteen and make a left. You're run right
to us with the first dealership off of exit eighteen.
If you're driving. You could not write my information down.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
