Amen. Amen, miss Bell. The last time I laid my
eyes on you, you were at the seventy seventh annual
anniversaries for w D I A looking beautiful. That's right,
looking's right. You were there. I was there. I was
snapping you up.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
You did, you did a good job. I was glad
to say. Boy, Terry working. Terry was at the seventy
seventh the anniversary. Then he was at the Chrystals parade.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
I know, I know.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
It was so funny Terry. When we saw you, Ron,
kids said Terry, spons and he gets on the microphone, Terry,
my real wile ok, Ron.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
I love run. I know, I know. That's my that's
my agent. He's your agent.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
My age to make sure your pocketbook stays. That's right,
that's right to my agent. So but it was good
to see you. How is your Thanksgiving?
Speaker 2 (06:08):
You know it was good. It was I spent time
with my immediate family. We just ate.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
We uh, of course, watched the We actually watched the movie.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
We watched that movie. Have you ever seen that movie?
Bad Lands? Predator? Bad Lands? No, anyway, it was pretty good. Okay,
to my surprise, it was actually a pretty good movie. Anyway,
we watched that. We just hung out and cracked some
jokes and just did family stuff. What about you.
Speaker 4 (06:29):
I went to I went home and Arbor, Michigan. Wow
in Ivory, Michigan, the home of the Wolverines. The University
of Michigan uh is and I don't know if you
know here in Oubrey is a college town, university town.
I've always been in small town about thirty miles from
(06:52):
We're about thirty miles from Detroit. But it's a college
town and the University of Michigan run to the town.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
Every time I go there.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
I was thinking, like when they put that here, I
mean it has grown from when I grew up there.
But anyway, I was with family and as always to
go Thanksgiving and Terry.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
I got my wish.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
I wished for snow you got and I got the
six to eight inches of so.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
And so. But through in, Yes, I flew the problems
getting flying in and flying out. No, when coming back.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
Getting ready to fly out, our plane was delayed for
about thirty minutes.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
That was it.
Speaker 4 (07:36):
But other than that, no problems, no problems going because
I always leave Thanksgiving morning when the traffic is down.
You know, the people have traveled. So when I got
to the airport here, I just walked up to the desk.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Nobody's in line.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
Thanksgiving morning, Thanks smart. Hey, oh wow, I do it
all the time. Walk up to the desk, check in,
go on to my gate.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
There's not a lot of people there on thing. No,
it's not.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
And you know, and you have a few people, but
it's not even go I went straight through, no problem.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
That's smart. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
And and then I always come back uh late Sunday
night when when people have gotten on.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
I know what to do.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Brother.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
You know, some people like to be in that rush
and the just just you know, just the I don't know,
just they like to be in the.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
People like I don't. I don't, I don't, I don't.
I don't like that and I don't.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
That's smart. Yeah, but but it was nice.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
And someone asked me, one of my colleagues here says,
how did you do in the snow? I said, I
do find the snow. I know how to drive in
the snow. I know how to drive in the snow.
I grew up driving in the snow. But the thing
is about the difference, you know, they have a lot
of snow, and and we have ice. But they have
(08:50):
the terry, they have the equipment, machine, the trust, the
plows and this.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Is what I love.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
So I was looking out the window morning, were like,
the plow trucks are in the neighborhood.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
So the streets, well when I now you said something,
you said they have more snow than ice. Is that yeah? Yeah,
and we get the ice, yeah, because but they but
but if they do have I but they have the equipment.
Speaker 4 (09:15):
You know, here we just when when the time, when
we find out we're getting ready to have snow, Okay,
they come out put the little the dirty littleh out.
But but up north, you know, they have a lot
of snow, so they have the plow machine. So the
streets are pretty are pretty clear. The the interstates are clear.
(09:38):
So I had no problem driving, uh to the airport
snow and.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
But I know how are driving the snow? I bet
you do.
Speaker 6 (09:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
As as as as we're talking about automobiles, I have
to say this. I always I love to say this. No, no, no,
I love to say this because somebody asked my mother,
and I think it was this was ago. He says,
she knows how to drive, She got some license. And
my mother said, yes, she knows how to drive, and
(10:09):
she has license. She learned how to drive the place
where they make the cars. She she she got she
she knew how to drive. She she lived in a
place where they make the cars. Right, So I got
my license in the place where they make the car
when they first made the Fords.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Oh, Missa, you got your license?
Speaker 4 (10:28):
Oh sixteen, Well sixteen, we get, we get we got
a drivers permit. We got to permit and then you
go back and you get your license. So in high school, Terry,
we had drivers ed in high school. Yeah, so we could,
you know, we drivers and you know, we had the
(10:49):
course and then when it was.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
Time for you to get in the car.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
So it was three of us, three three three students
and when it was my Okay, who's gonna drive first? Instructor.
And so I got in the car and I said,
he said, oh, you know how to drive? I said yes,
I've been dropping since I was eleven. My dad taught me.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
I was dripping back and forth in the driveway that
my sister teases that, she tells.
Speaker 4 (11:17):
Her, yeah, she's in the driveway going back and forth back,
and and that's how I learned as my dad. And
then when I got a little older, he led because
the store and fire. He let me drive down to
the store, you know, his car.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
But I've been.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
Driving since I was eleven, So I learned how to
drive where they make the cars, where they made the
ford the way you know in Detroit.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
That was the first. Was your father working in the
automotive industry? What does your father?
Speaker 4 (11:43):
No, my my my father was a when he left Memphis,
he taught biology at or your father moved to Memphis. No,
we moved to miss So you were born in Memphis.
In Memphis, we moved to Michigan when I was in
second grade. Okay, No, we moved to Michigan. My dad
(12:04):
was a biology teacher at Jeter, oh When he graduated,
he was biology teacher at.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Jeter Jeter High School.
Speaker 4 (12:16):
And so my his his his sister, my aunt, when
she got married, her husband was copper, moved to Michigan. So,
you know, back back then they would say, tell the folks,
you know, better opportunities in the seventies, eighties, sixties, the fifties.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Hey, I trying to give you a couple of men.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
Thank you, brother. I always already steal to me, what that. No, No,
we moved in the fifties, and so my aunt told
my dad that, you know, better opportunities. So it was
better opportunities up north than during that time, and so
moved there. And so when he went there, he didn't
he didn't go on the teaching field. He worked at
the post office and then on the side he had
(13:04):
his own business.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Why didn't he just curious, why didn't he go to
teach him? Why did he go to the point? I
don't know. I never asked a good question, you know,
I never knew.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
But probably doing post office that was a good job,
that's right. But anyway to say all that, Terry, so
you're learning something. I learned how to drive up north,
so I know how to drive in the snow.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
So can you drive on the ice a little? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (13:35):
Well I can a little, but not here, not in Memphis.
I don't don't when it's ice and stuff here. Yeah,
see y'all the next I.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
Remember that it was a couple of years ago or
three years ago about I was. I was actually I
was actually out of town. So the call was actually
a relief, but I was gonna do the show over
the air. But because there's Terry is gonna be ice.
We counseling this. I'm not going I'm not going there.
I said, Well that works for me. Hey, that's right.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
You know I don't come here in the ice. These
folks here y'all don't know how to drive. You can't
drive in the sunshine, let alone in the ice.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
You said, they can't drive when the sun when the.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
Sugn is out, Terry, they can't drive, and so you know,
you know they don't driving ice, that's right. And and
then my my driveway you've been there, Terry, it's it's
incolm it is. And so my driveway freezes over and
so I could get down, but getting back.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Up that's a problem for me. And I don't want
to be doing that. And I'm not going to be
doing all that. That's right.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
So Hey, I me at the age and say, I
see you in the ice has melt you get me, Larry.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
I'm at that age now, brother.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
I can tell you what I want and what I
don't want, what I like, what if you like it?
Speaker 2 (14:50):
At night? Hey, that's because the Lord that let me
see this age. Man. Hey, amen, Hey, you're crazy, Hey, Terry, Hey,
y'all got to see Bev's expression. She is a funny lady. Boy.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
I'm glad, I'm glad we don't have cameras. And except
for you you got cameras. We don't even say, don't
even mention that. I know, I know no, but but yeah,
but that's that's and I to say all that I
think about, Yeah, I learned how to drive, and yeah, yeah,
and it's good.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
I don't know why.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
Our school and back back then, our school system was
so progressive. You know, you think about him going to
why I don't have drivers at here?
Speaker 2 (15:37):
And I remember having drivers when I was eleven twelfth grade. Yeah,
this is ninety one, ninety ninety one. I remember, Yeah,
I didn't never know if they had drivers. Yeah, they
had to. It was I think back to it, and
that's so archaic because they had like the little wooden
card things you said, and it was just anyway we
had it.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
I remember, okay, because we well we had the class
and then when it was time for you to get
in the car to drive, you could drive and we
could drive. We and then we learned you know, automotive, automotive,
and then we had to learn how to drive.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
On a stick and the stick We learned it was
in a Volkswagon.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
So I learned how to drive a stick of Volkswagen.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
And when I was in Jackson, Mississippi, and I was
news director at w u k XI, our news car
was a Volkswagon.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Wow. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
When they brought the car going like they bought, they
got the Volkswagon for the news car and.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
We drove it myself.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
And you probably don't remember James Davis who used to
work here, who worked in the news department. He was
part of the Davis Brothers and James I hired James,
so James was.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
In the news department. He was a reporter.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
So we drove that that Volkswagon that sticks you. I
drove that that Volkswagen.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Sticks here, so you can when you first got into it,
no problems. You knew what to do automatically.
Speaker 4 (17:06):
Yeah, because I learned when I was in high school
how to how to drive a Volkswagen.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
That's awesome. Interesting. Now, mostly most young people don't know
how to drive a stick shift because they're not as
far few between. Yeah, but probably if I got in
one now, I probably I made it.
Speaker 4 (17:21):
Oh, Terry, I tell you this, Okay, I'm gon Terry
talk wait Terry. So I said, I said, I'm gonna
tell Terry this because he's gonna love this. So when
I got to Detroit for thanksgipping, so I always rent
a car because I rent a car because.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
I like to reminisce and go around town.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
Anyway, So when I got to the rental place, and
then you know the car, because I had already got
my car, and the lady said the agent said, she says,
Missus Johnson, I got an electric car for you.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
I said, no, you don't. I bet she was bright eyed.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
She I said, no you don't. She said, she said,
I got, I got that. When she pointed out she
was looking at the window. I don't know what it was.
She said, I got an electric car back here, and
I got. I said, no you don't. You don't have
no electric car for me. I don't want an electric car.
I need a gas gougling. She was falling out, just
(18:19):
like you tear she and she said, I said, look,
I'm not comfortable in an electric car. Give me a
gas car. It was and she told the little guy
go go go find her what She said, you sure you?
I said, looks I do not. And she was a sister.
(18:42):
I said, I do not want an electric car. Do
not give me that.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
I I don't want.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
An electric cars because I don't I don't know that
situation about about charging it up and going I don't
want to do I don't want to do that.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
Let me go to the pump and put some glass
in the car. That sister was falling out.
Speaker 4 (19:03):
And then when I left, she said, Missus Johnson, you
want you still don't want that letter, I said, did
not tell you better go?
Speaker 2 (19:09):
You better go and get you.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
With me.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
I gotta tell Tearry what they put you in. Well,
I always like, I'm gonna tell you what I always get.
I get the little the key soul or the ki.
I love the k Yeah, I love that. So I
always get the key of soul. It's designed to where
you don't have a blind spot, I believe. Yeah, yeah,
(19:34):
I loved. I love that little car. So when I
always rent a car and then if they don't have,
I get something else. But I bet when I go
and rent one, I put up give me that key
of soul. Easy to manage, easy to man that's right, hey,
But I said, I gotta tell Terry, they.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
Offer me no you not offering me a lectric car,
know you not. I've been jumping for joys. That's what
you got, sister, what you got now.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
But I uh give me a car that we can
put gas and I will take a tier.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
So that's my stories for the day. Tears. I know,
I know you got some good but it was about cars.
It's about cars. We we own sub right, that's right,
Miss Bell, I.
Speaker 4 (20:17):
Said, I'm gonna have to tell till they try to
put me in an electric car.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
No, Bell, you gotta started taking pictures when people when
you're out and you see something like an electric car,
you know, I know you don't like to take a
picture for me. Yeah, I have to start taking pictures
for you.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
Yeah, because like when I was in Vegels and I
saw them little cars running around with nobody driving.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
They come in, Miss Bell, they coming, I can't.
Speaker 4 (20:41):
I know they coming. Everything must change.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
I know, you know you know right now this morning,
the Trump they had a meeting uh with the automakers
this morning about uh rolling back some of the Biden
incentives for evs. He's he's gonna be focused morning, Bell's express,
he's gonna be focused more on the gas car we'll
get into that once we get in the show. Okay,
all right, so let's go ahead and crank it up
(21:05):

us what that's right? Thank you, Miss Bev.
Speaker 4 (21:12):

Speaker 2 (25:20):
I don't know, Lord, but it works. I want you
to be coming. It's good, okay, you good? Okay? Speaking
of making jokes, Miss Bell, you ever go to Instagram?
I know you go to Facebook, you know.
Speaker 4 (25:34):
I it's interesting you asked that, Terry, because I do
have an account and I don't ever go to it.
And then until somebody send me something that's on Instagram,
then I'll go and look and see what they want
to be to see.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
But I don't. I don't, So you don't know how
really how the app works too much? You know you
can go you can go on Instagram and you can
double tap and make a heart appear show love for somebody.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
What you know about double time? I don't know. No,
I don't know anything about that.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
You know, you know Trump and hexelf they do about
double tabit. You know you hear about the double tab

Speaker 2 (26:18):
Speaking of speaking of your guy, President Donald Trump, uh
here is This comes from CBT News. The Trump administration
is set to announce new less stringent fuelly fishing standards
at the White House. Aiming to reverse rules implemented during
the Biden administrating administration that it says have contributed to
(26:42):
rising vehicle cost. Senior executives from Stilantis, General Motors, and
Ford are expected to attend the announcement today this morning.
I believe it's happening now. President Donald Trump's initiative initiative
aims to reduce regulatory cost for vehicles, giving customers more
options when purchasing cars. According to industry analysts, the average
(27:09):
price of a new car in the United States reached
fifty thousand dollars in September. That's a significant increase from
the pre pandemic levels. Details of the proposed standards have
been have not been publicly released, but they are expected
to be less strenent than those finalized under Biden. The
(27:31):
administration has framed the rollback as a way to ease
the financial burden on car buyers, noting that previous rules
required automakers to achieve an average of about fifty miles
per gallon across their twenty thirty one model year vehicles.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
Now.
Speaker 4 (27:51):
Since returning to the White House in January, President Trump
has actively challenged the strict fuel efficiency efficiencies and ev mandates,
expressing concerns about government overreach. His recent actions include working
to eliminate federal subsidies for evs we as he already
has already done that, curbing California's ability to set its
(28:14):
own emission standards, and easing nationwide tailpipe emission regulations, demonstrating
his commitment to rebalancing federal regulations in these areas. Automakers
have impressive I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
Automakers have made impressive strides in new technologies of the
past decade to comply with regulatory standards. However, critics of
the regulatory rollback warned that these changes may not lead
to lower vehicle prices in the near term, as automakers
plan productions several years in advance. At the same time,
(28:55):
the industry has increasingly focused on high end, feature, your
rich and electric models, which have contributed to rising average
transaction prices. During a recent cabinet meeting, Trump emphasized the
importance of consumer choice. He acknowledged his support for electric
and hybrid vehicles, but maintained that Americans should have access
(29:18):
to the type of cars that they desire. I read that,
I said, I'm sure, Miss Beff. Despite her pushback on
some of the things that Trump rolls out. She might appreciate.
That's he's looking out for for what you like. You
like the gas burners, and he's trying to roll back
the Biden implemented for the electric cars.
Speaker 4 (29:36):
Yeah, that's not gonna that's not gonna said well with
with the forward folks that are doing the blue old well, hey,
that really messages they hold that case the plan up exactly,
you know, you know, and they already beaulty.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
I hadn't been out there in a while. I know
they've slowed down. You don't hear much talk about blue
over him. Have you been there? I have never been
out there. Oh, never been out there. Yeah, this is
the whole Sits nice. It's a whole city out there. Okay,
but I haven't been out there in the last year
and a half. But yeah, that is definitely putting a
kink in the in the plans of the autumnakers. But
they're meeting him right now talking about rolling back some
(30:12):
of those evs with all those incentive. Of course they've
already rolled back the incentives. You can't get in it.
The was it seventy five hundred dollars on the EV
that doesn't affect Miss Bell and folks like Miss Bell
because no, she's not interested in those. I'm going to
the pump. I love it. I love it to the
pump and pump me some game. That's right. My friend
(30:33):
Tracy Miller just messages me, do we have any cash cars?
Speaker 3 (30:36):
Trace?
Speaker 2 (30:36):
I'm gonna check over the break and I'll get back.
But of course you can go. You can go and
visit the website my store, the Sunrise at the Sunrise
at wolf Chase. That website is Sunrise at Wolfchase dot com.
But over the break, I'll check to see if we
got any good deals. So no matter of fact, even
call the used car manager to see if he wants
to put some special money on a particular car. We'll we'll,
(30:58):
we'll follow back after the break. Mss Tracy, thanks for that.
Let's go here, Miss Bev. So Miss Bell, you know
that we are about to When is winter start? Miss Bev?
Is it December twenty one? When is it? That's when
it winna starts? Yeah, Well, we get in the cold months,
and folks, I know what I'm gonna talk about now,
trying to help you get your car ready for the
cold time. Some of the things I'm gonna say, you're
(31:20):
gonna like ter I already know that, but some folks,
you'll believe it or not, they won't know, or they'll
forget to prepare. And I've gotta let me find my
list here. I've got a list of things that you
should probably start doing as we go towards these freezing temperatures.
So let me give Let me give you this list
of things to do for those who don't know. And
(31:41):
this list here contains let's take a little check here,
miss Bell. This one has nine what is that? This
one has nine things I want you to do as
we head into the winter months. Number one, check your battery.
Cold weather reduces the battery power. Have it tested to
it sure it's holding a strong charge. Clean the corrosion
(32:03):
around the terminals, or have someone you know who's mechanically
inclined to do that for you. To help keep your
car protected when it gets cold. You don't want to
be doing that. You know your your car won't start
and it's freezing outside. Inspect your tires. Make sure your
tread depth is healthy.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
If you don't know what healthy is, get yourself to
a mechanic or call my friends over at Winchester Tire
in alignment extra Adrin right over there.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
They'll check it for you. Probably won't charge your dime
just to check your thread, your thread on your tire.
Test your heating and defrost systems. I'm sure most of
us have already tested that by now, as cold as
it has been the last couple of days. Msmen, if
you've got that heat cranking yet in your house, yeah
I do, okay, I do have it. Good for you,
(32:50):
Good for you.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
Check your fluids, your anna freeze cool it. You want
to make for sure that that thing is topped off.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
Most well, I want to say most dealerships like Sunrise
and Wolfchack. You come by and visit with us, We'll
make sure all your fluids are topped off. So if
you want to get your fluids topped off, stop by.
Sunrise and Bartlett were right beside the Walmart in Sam's
in Barlet. We share the same intersection as the Walmart
and Sam's in Bartlett, Tennessee. Let's go move to number
(33:18):
five here. Inspect your wipers and lights. I know people
saying I know to do that, replace the warm blade.
You want to do that before when that sleep starts
hitting those raggedy wipers. They may halfway get water off,
but it will not. It will have a tough time
getting sleet off that windshield. Examine your brakes. You want
to make sure your brakes are good. Protect your exterior.
(33:40):
Of course, consider maybe waxing if you hadn't already, or
just take it to a good detailed guy. He'll, I'm sure,
give you the right path to take to get your
vehicles your exterior protected for the winter time. Prepare an
emergency kit, keep a blanket in the car, flashlighting gloves,
keep your eye scraper.
Speaker 4 (34:00):
Handy with a small towel, jumper cabers. Of course, first
aid kid is always handy.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
Have a bottle of water if it's not you know,
hopefully I don't get frozen. Bit, But this thing is
it keeps a bottle of water. But it's zero degrees
or blow thirty two, that water may be frozen, but
keep it in the car anyway. And I have a
little tip here too, Miss Bev. I think folks should
going in the wintertime here in the South, keep a
bag of sand or gravel in your trunk. When it
(34:28):
starts to sleep and snow may not be a big deal.
With you while it's you know, the streets are clear,
but you'll just feel really good that you got there.
That your vehicles for some reason gets stuck in some
ice or snow, you put that gravel or sand down
by the tire. Of course, the sand or gravel is
not gonna melt the snow, but it's gonna give your
tire traction to to get you out of whatever predicament
(34:48):
that you're in. Also, miss Bev. You know nowadays, have
you seen they have vests and jackets they have warmers
built in them. That may be a good investment. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
say that. Yeah, I think Walbarn has it. You can
get them as low as I think I saw at
Walmart twenty five dollars. I know for sure you can
get them on Amazon about a one hundred bucks. But
keep a blanket in your car, one that you can
(35:10):
plug up, and you got the kids in the back.
You can get a heated blanket to put on their
lap so that can be nice and toasted as they
go to school or church or wherever you are taking
the kids. Also, let me talk about keeping your car
protected for sleep. Now, sleep is a little bit different.
You ever went to your car miss bed over a
sleet at night, you try to come and you can't
(35:31):
even open your door. Yeah, yeah, that happens to lots
of us.
Speaker 4 (35:35):
Yeah, So here's just a list of eight things to do,
especially those folks terry who may not have garages, that's true,
A park mine out and the open and yeah and
they only have a you know, have to be out
and open and yeah, yeah, a little preparation is what
you need for that. But here are eight little tips
for getting your car ready in case they're asleep on
(35:57):
the way. Park under cover if poss bill just mention this.
Not all of us have covers to park over it.
They have, They do have things that you can buy
that go over the windshields. But let me just read
the list instead of instead of sell me winging here.
So if possible, use a garage or carport.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
Even if a cover, even a covered parking era can
shield your vehicle from ice build up. Avoid parking under trees.
Branches get heavy and brittle during sleet storms. Falling limbs
can damage your vehicle. Protect your windshield. Use a windshield
cover or place a thick towel or blanket over the
(36:33):
glass to prevent ice from bonding. This make remove This
makes removal easier and protects your wipers. Raise your wipers.
Speaking of the wipers, keeping them lifted helps prevent them
from freezing to the glass and tearing when you turn
them on, So always raise them up when you know
snow sleet is coming down. Keep your doors and locks lubricated.
(36:57):
Now you can go to AutoZone ol'illy's places like that
and they have lubricant designed for you to put in
your door jams where the key goes to keep it lubricated,
so you won't have the problem in Bell just mentioned.
You go outside and you can't even open your door,
and the God forbid you're two three minutes late. Don't pour.
(37:18):
Do not pour hot water on the ice on your windshield,
you know, And I was in high school. I used
to do that and never cracked, thank God. But I
would go outside and poor well, I didn't know any better.
But do not do that because it can crack the glass.
Miss Beth, you know some of these cars.
Speaker 4 (37:35):
As a matter of fact, Tracy and Miller, we helped
her get her windshield. You know, windshields nowadays can cost
anywhere between the new cars a thousand up to a
couple thousand dollars for a windshield. Are you aware of that,
mus Bath.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
No, they have a lot of technology technology in these glasses.
With the cameras and all the sensors, they can get
pretty expensive. They can get miss And as a matter
of fact, she called me the other day and she
was talking about her when shield by replacing it. She says, Terry,
do I need to get to the windshield designed for
my car? Can I get one? Of my choosing We
gave her the pros and cons of I'm not sure
(38:09):
which one she went with, but she did call me
asking about the windshield because the one designed for the
car was a little more expensive than just the plane windshield.
But let me continue with my list here it says
wax before winter. Of course, that is a complete option
for you if you want to wax it to keep
the exterior looking good because you know ice, of course,
and the AsSalt on the road all that can take
(38:29):
an effect on damaging the paint. And of course this
is the one that bailed with love number eight. Drive
only when necessary you tell Veil this one time is
ice on the road.
Speaker 4 (38:39):
She's out for the day in Memphis. In Memphis, Memphis anything,
Miss Bell, No, no.
Speaker 2 (38:46):
Sir, that's pressed for well. Let me give a couple
of shot outs here. Big shout out to my friend
Kevin Hale. Thank you all for coming and see me
last month. I appreciate you all, and congratulations on your
new vehicle, and thank you for grandmother for mom sending
you off my way. Big shout out to my Spanish

(39:09):

hopefully he's tuned in now. Big shout out to my
friend Terrence Bolden. My girl, she's listening. I know she's listening.
Speaker 4 (39:22):
Miss Constance Fraser, Miss Constince Fraser at we talk all
the time. She just called me in. She tries to,
you know, just just check on me. And I appreciate that,
Mss Constince.
Speaker 2 (39:32):
But the next time y'all had that family gathering, let
me know so I can attend, she actually calls me
and says, hey, we're having this going on, you want
to come on over. So thank you Miss Fraser for
not just being a good customer, but you have now,
my friend, my family. Thank you so much for showing
so much love, and thank you for making your purchase.
She bought herself a brand new Rid. She likes Rid
(39:52):
like Bes. She got a brand new red twenty twenty
six Buick in this the sport touring beautiful car. Thank you, Wisconstance,
my friend Jimmy Williams, thank you for shopping with me
and missus Candace Collins, she's a sophisticated woman. She bought
herself a brand nude Buick Invision. Thank you all so
(40:15):
much for shopping with me. All right, Terry, let me go.
I have a phone call.
Speaker 3 (40:19):
Lets do it?
Speaker 2 (40:19):
See who's on the line. W D I a high caller?
Speaker 9 (40:25):
Hey, how are you doing today?
Speaker 2 (40:26):
I'm doing well. How are you today?
Speaker 9 (40:29):
All right? My name is William. I don't want missus
Spicey's customers. I probably bought about three cars from Okay,
calling a question question about my situation, but I'm not
sure if if you can answered it on.
Speaker 10 (40:46):
The air or not.
Speaker 2 (40:47):
Okay, what's your question?
Speaker 4 (40:49):
You?
Speaker 11 (40:51):
Hey?
Speaker 9 (40:51):
Miss William Hunt?
Speaker 2 (40:54):
I love mister Hunt. Yeah, I remember you. How you doing, sir?
Speaker 9 (40:57):
All right?
Speaker 3 (40:57):
How you been doing?
Speaker 2 (41:00):
I'm fine? Good to see you. I see you on
Facebook from time to time. Everybody's good, the family's well, yes, there,
all right, awesome.
Speaker 3 (41:07):
All set.
Speaker 9 (41:08):
Hey, I gotta I gotta a suburban from Tunarized a.
Speaker 3 (41:13):
Couple of years ago.
Speaker 9 (41:14):
Yeah, and I've been paying on it and the warranty
is out and the transmission has failed. It's not and
I feel old. I feel a whole like fifteen on it.
Fifteen your recommendation.
Speaker 2 (41:30):
Okay. If I ask ask a question you're not comfortable
to answer it, don't answer it. Okay, But but that
vehicle you bought it in what year? In twenty three?
Speaker 9 (41:43):
Some twenty towards twenty three?
Speaker 2 (41:46):
Okay? I always tell folks, most people, not all people,
most people who bought their cars in twenty one, in
twenty two, in the beginning of twenty three, Chance and says,
are you paid too much for can you hear me?
Speaker 9 (42:03):
He love? Yeah, it could off at twenty two? What's that?
Speaker 2 (42:07):
Yeah, I said the beginning of twenty twenty three. If
you bought your car between twenty one twenty two, in
the beginning of twenty three, most people, not everyone, but
most people paid too much for their cars. And the
reason why you can recall there was a micro chip shortage,
which made new cars hard to get. And because they
made new cars hard to get, it made rental car companies.
(42:31):
It made dealerships go out and buy an excessive amount
of used cars from the auction and that was driving
the prices up. So that's why prices were higher than
what they needed to be. Now I gave you that
to say to begin with, there's a possibility you paid
more than you needed to for that car. Now my
next question is do you know the bank that's financing
that car? Who you paying that monthly note to? That's
(42:52):
important for me too, exeter okay, exitter finance not always
but good amount of time. They may have the race
may a little bit average to a little bit higher.
And you say, you're, oh, fifteen, I'm gonna try to
do this live while we're on the air. If you've
got a couple of minutes here, let me uh let
me see if I can do this. Okay, Bill may
(43:14):
try to uh run me off here, because we like
to keep the we like to keep the airways busy,
the like stuff going on. So let me see if
I can get a value, a quick value for your car.
Stand by for me while I pull this up. All right,
So your vehicle, what year is it? Twenty fifteen?
Speaker 4 (43:32):
It's a Chevrolet suburban suburban there, Okay, let's do this here.
Speaker 2 (43:38):
It's a suburban. How many miles on it right now?
Speaker 9 (43:42):
I'm not shitting in front of it? One between one
fifty and one c.
Speaker 2 (43:49):
All right, I'm giving I'm gonna give you a rough estament.
It's an ls LT or lt Z lt LT all right,
So let's do this here, and we're gonna go with standard.
What color is and I did that matters what color
you got on it.
Speaker 9 (44:06):
White.
Speaker 4 (44:06):
It's a white vehicle, got you And let's see, let's
let's put in you're gonna trade it now. This value
i'm gonna get you give you of course if it
was running with no problems. Okay, so let's try to
figure this up and give you some live advice on
the air that may help someone else.
Speaker 2 (44:25):
Okay. The value is about to pull up for me now.
Of course, to get an accurate value, you have to
get it to someone to put their hands on it
so they can drive it and feel it. Your situation
is a little bit different because the transmission is out.
But I'm gonna give you a rough estimate of what
that vehicle would be worth if it was running. If
it was running, it'll be worth somewhere between eight eleven
(44:46):
thousand dollars and your fifteen. So if it was running,
you could trade that vehicle in and your negative echuo
will somewhere be somewhere between four to five thousand negative equity,
which is not that bad. Your vehicle's not running, so
you're lucky to get five hundred dollars for it, so
your negative equity is going to be about what you
owe fifteen thousand dollars. So my advice is, and I
(45:09):
say this not just to try to make a sale,
but you probably need to come by and visit with
me at the dealership. Since the vehicle is not running,
bring the take some pictures of the exterior of it,
the interior of it, take a picture of your miles.
Maybe bring your insurance card so I can make sure
I can read that ven number of validly. And when
you come to visit with me right now, I'll go
(45:31):
ahead and give this now since I was one of
the things I was going to say, I have a
vehicle right now that you need money to cover your
negative equity up are you Are you able right now
to put any cash down to trade you out of it,
mister m mister hunt.
Speaker 11 (45:48):
Right down.
Speaker 4 (45:48):
Chris here said you cut off?
Speaker 2 (45:53):
Will you say that again?
Speaker 9 (45:55):
I said, not right now, Chris.
Speaker 2 (45:57):
Okay, no work, no work. So this is what we
need to do. So it's a good time. Because another
thing I'm gonna talk about is when the best time
to buy in December?
Speaker 4 (46:04):
Believe it or that is one of the good times.
He needs to call you, right, I'll tell you what.
Hang up and listen to me. I'm gonna give you advice,
but I want you to call me and come see me.
But I'm gonna give the I'm gonna continue the vice
once you hang up, mister William, and I.
Speaker 2 (46:17):
Got your numbers to you. Yeah, are you off away?
You make sure you call said call him? Yeah, call
me call me at about two thirty.
Speaker 9 (46:25):
Okay, I got you.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
Okay, but let me finish this all right, Thank you,
will you? We gotta break We're good, Oh okay, okay,
So now let me just reiterate, thank you William for
that for allowing me to do that live on the air.
So just to reiterate, mister William has a twenty fifteen
Chevrolet Suburb and his transmission is out, he does not
have warranty. It's it's he most likely paid. Actually, when
(46:47):
I do the math on it here, you probably paid
a decent price because your negative is not that bad.
You're only about four or five thousand dollars most of
the time when folks have bought that card between twenty
one in the beginning of twenty three, negative is about
ten thousand. So it looks like you got a fair
deal on that truck, is what it sounds like. But
because the transmission is out, what you owe on the
(47:08):
vehicle is your negative equity right now, and I need
to talk to William to fulfill this three thousand dollars
rebate right now. Buick has three thousand dollars they're gonna
give you. It's your money, it's free money. The way
you qualify is you have to own or someone in
(47:28):
your household where your vehicle is registered. You don't have
to actually own it. But if your cousin lives with
you and they own a twenty eleven or newer none
GM vehicle, a none Chevrolet, Buick, GMC Cadillac. If it's
not any of those vehicles and it's a twenty eleven.
(47:49):
It's what the General Motors is calling conquest. They're trying
to bring people over to the GM family who may
not already own a GM product. So if you own
or someone that lives with you owns a none GM
vehicle twenty eleven or newer, you can get a three
thousand dollars rebate on any of the twenty twenty five buicks.
(48:12):
And it's one, two, three, four. You got four options
to choose from. So I would invite mister William to
come out and visit with me because we can use
that money to help clean up his negative equate. He
says he does not have money to put down, which
is that's fine. We hear that quite a bit. We'll
just try to work that deal and get you pulled out.
But keep this in mind, family, before we change subjects.
(48:33):
On average, here's a rule of thumb for you to
keep in mind. On average, every five thousand dollars finance,
on average, your payment is roughly one hundred dollars. Meaning
if you see a vehicle priced at ten thousand dollars,
your payment on average will be about two hundred dollars. Now,
what I'm quoting you is based on financing for five
(48:55):
years at a nine percent rate. That gives me the
rule of thumb average. Keep in mind most people financed
for six years, and that rate can be the higher
or lower. But just for easy math, let's keep it
like that. Now, I gave you that little snippet to say,
if he does qualify for the three thousand dollars rebate,
he owes fifteen, that means it's gonna be twelve thousand.
It's going to carry over to the new loan. That
(49:18):
means he's going to be carrying over another an additional
payment of about two hundred and thirty to two hundred
and forty dollars per month carries over in his new loan,
which is possible. It depends on his income, what his
credit score is UH and he's bought several cars, so
he should fare pretty good as far as getting the
deal worked out. So William definitely called me because you
are a great candidate to get traded out, especially if
(49:42):
you made on time payments on exit. And I have
a direct connection with the bankers over at Exeter too,
so we can call in and maybe call in some
favors to get you assistant my telephone number. I know
you have it, but let me give it to you again.
My telephone number is nine zero one six seven two
four four two two. Look for to serving you and
the family again. Thank you for calling Miss Bev. Anything
(50:03):

ya to the Rocking Chair of Memphis. All right, Well
(55:27):
we're rocking over here with the Automotive Specialist Terry Spicer,
Miss Bev Johnson, my Queen Bee Radio Hall of Fame,
the best that there is.
Speaker 2 (55:39):
Miss Bell. Yes, a good friend of mine. Police offer
of miss Miss Officer Chanelle Hart. She had surgery today
and I will be happy to report it was a
It was a great it was a success. The surgery
went fine. She's doing well. I am so happy to
hear that our good friend Rashonda Taylor's in town to
(55:59):
drive from the hospital back home. So Officer Heart, I'm
glad everything worked out. Great surgery, all right, Miss Bell.
Let me give some clarity here on a rebate that
I mentioned on the before the last break, okay, at
three thousand dollars, that that rebate is designated for the
Uncore GX, the Buick Uncore GX. The three thousand dollars
(56:23):
goes for the Uncore GX. There's a one thousand dollars
rebate for the Envision, there is a two hundred and
fifty dollars rebate for the Invista, and then there's a
five hundred dollars rebate for the Buick Enclave. So the
three thousand dollars is for the Uncore GX. I want
(56:43):
to make sure I give that clarity because I don't
think I itemize it before the last break. All right,
Miss Bell, So I have here, you know people will
ask me, oh and stand by two. You're gonna love
to hear this information about our very own, our very
owned Prince Charles. What do you call him, Miss Belle
(57:04):
of the Deer Slayer? Is that the name you give
Prince Chaws. He Prince Chales had something that happened to him.
Good thing, bad thing, turn into a good thing. We're
gonna talk about that here shortly, so step by for
the news, breaking news or Prince Charles. All right, So
if you are looking or wondering, I should say, when
(57:28):
is the best time to buy a car? Now? I
think come and knowledge. Most people always say December is
a great time to buy a car because it's the
last month of the year. And it's true. The dealers
are trying to you know, they're trying to end the
year with the bang. Most was maybe should I should
(57:49):
say all manufacturers are on stock exchange and they report
to the traders, you know, the people own stock, and
if they miss their predicted sales number, they miss it,
the stock could take it hit, It could go down drastically.
So the manufacturers are trying their best to move the
units to the unit count the profits. They want to
(58:11):
show growth. So, going towards the end of the year,
most of our or maybe I should say all of
our domestic auto makers their fiscal year. There's a calendar year.
There's a fiscal year. The calendar year is January to
December in the States and also for the domestic manufacturers
(58:34):
their fiscal year. This is for their accounting purposes, their
fiscal year is January to December. So this is one
of the reasons why you see so much advertisement going
up towards Christmas to buy American made vehicles because they're
want to end the fiscal year with the bang. So, yes,
(58:55):
December is a great time to buy a car, especially
the last week of the year, if you really want
to get down to the nitty gritty and if you
really want to push it the last two days. It's
true that you can probably get a heck of a
deal if if if a dealership. And here's my caveat
(59:16):
I like to always add this, when you have the
right salesperson, any time of the year can be the
best time of the year because that salesperson like myself
will make for sure you get it. If I hear
of a good deal coming. My good friends, Charles mister
and missus Charles Brown, I appreciate you all. He calls
me text me just to check on me. One of
(59:37):
one of the one of my customers who are now
my family. I love you so much. He is you know,
he got my feelers out there is looking for a
particular car, No rush. If I find the deal, give
him a call. If it's a deal, it'll be his car.
So you get yourself. If not with me, find someone
that you can, you know, you trust, and you're the
(59:57):
best time of the year to buy vehicles when they
find the deal for you. But for those who don't
have their own car, guy, December the last week, the
last two days are a good time to buy. But
let's say you plan to spend your money on the
kids for Christmas and not a car, and you say
to yourself, I'm not gonna be able to get the
good deal because the fiscal year accordin toary, the fiscal
(01:00:20):
year ends in December, and I done missed out. Not true.
Check this out. I have a list.
Speaker 4 (01:00:26):
I have a list of the fiscal year for most manufacturers.
So if you're looking for a particular brand, I have
a list of when their fiscal year ends. And I
say that because if you should miss buying your car
in December, no, you don't have to wait until next December.
The reason why is because a good number of the
(01:00:50):
foreign manufacturers their fiscal year ends March thirty one. This
is the reason why in March you see a lust
around March madness. You see a lot of car advertisements
because they are trying to get you to buy their
product because their fiscal year is coming to a close
March thirty one. Well, the domestic vehicle of manufacture is
(01:01:13):
not going to stand by and just let them take
their market share.
Speaker 2 (01:01:16):
They ramp up their advertisement. So you have December, January,
February and March. You have a four month window that
the dealers are fighting to get your business. But I
have here. This comes from realcartips dot com. Plt up yourself,
let me give you the auto maker and win their
(01:01:38):
fiscal year ends. And why should you care? You should
care because let's.
Speaker 4 (01:01:45):
Say you you only want a Hunda and you want
to know what's the best strategy of geting myself a
good deal. Well, if you can if you don't have
to have a car, if it's not a need more
of a want. That's when you put yourself in a
power position. You walk into a dealership and you don't
need a car, you just want one. You're in a
(01:02:06):
power position.
Speaker 2 (01:02:08):
We can sense that. A good salesperson can sense that.
Let me give you the list here, So I'm going
to give you the list again. These are the manufacturers
and when their fiscal year ends, so you know who
may be more likely pressed to get their deal done
this month compared to March of next year. March thirty one,
(01:02:31):
so Acura their fiscal year ends March thirty one, Honda
their fiscal year ends March thirty one, Infinity March thirty one,
Lexus March thirty one. Jack you are March thirty one,
Mitsubishi March thirty one, Nissan March thirty one, Toyota March
(01:02:58):
thirty one. What would you guess? I was surprised. BMW's
fiscal year ends December thirty first, Mercedes December thirty first,
Voltswagon December thirty first. Let me sit here on the
top of my page, of course, GM the GM manufacturer,
(01:03:20):
Chevrolet Buick GMC's fiscal year ends December thirty first, Ford
December thirty first, Volvo December thirty first. Now again, why
did I give you that list. I gave you that
list because I want you to be armed with information
of how to get yourself a really good deal. And
(01:03:42):
sometimes to get a really good deal you have to plan.
Speaker 4 (01:03:45):
It out and I'll always advise my guest, it's always
a good idea to buy your vehicle when you don't
need one.
Speaker 2 (01:03:55):
Maybe you say, you know what, my car, I've had
it for a long time. I'm having to put a
little money in to it to keep it going.
Speaker 3 (01:04:01):
Well.
Speaker 2 (01:04:03):
If the last time you put the money into it
and your mechanic says you probably got another six months
or a year, then you can plan when it's time
to make a move. So show up to the dealership
with that I don't need a car energy, just think
it about getting one. A good salesperson, a good management
staff can sense that, and that will enable you to
(01:04:25):
probably get a good deal. When when a salesperson can
sniff you in a challenge situation and you don't have
many options, that's when it's a little bit tougher to
get a good deal because they don't know you don't
have many options. So go in in a position of strength.
So use that information to your advantage. If you're looking
(01:04:46):
for let's say you're not looking for a new car.
The list I just gave you is for buying a
new car. So let's say you says here, I'm not
interested in a new car, I want something pre owned.
I want my payments to be three or four hundred dollars,
so I need to go with something pre owned, perhaps
something pre owned certified. That's when you need a good
car guy. Or if you prefer not to have a
good car guy and you want to be online just
(01:05:07):
searching for yourself, you can do that too. Here's another
bit of information that you can use to your advantage.
Most dealerships have a turn, a cycle of how long
they want to keep cars on the property. At Sunrise
we have a twenty one day turn on the used
car side, and what that means is when a car
(01:05:29):
is traded in. Let's say let's use real dates here
so it's all legitimate here. Let's say a car is
traded in today. The clock for us for that car
starts ticking today, So seven days will be the ninth,
fourteen days will be the sixteenth, twenty one days will
be the twenty third if we have not sold that
(01:05:51):
car by the twenty third. Because Sunrise and most Bixed
dealerships are what we call no haggle pricing, so the
price is the price. It's no hackle. It's set by
the market sets the price just to give folks who
hadn't been in the market, or maybe who shopped twenty
five years ago and shopping now that you know twenty
(01:06:14):
five thirty years ago. That you go in and you
hackle the price. Is that someone set in the car
for fifteen you hackle it down to twelve, thirteen thousand.
They've the big stores. Now we've taken that out. We
just the internet is forced us to do that. By
the way, before the Internet, the only way you can
see comparable prices or comparing prices with the newspaper. Now folks,
(01:06:34):
with the click of a button can go on their
cell phone and find where the cars are and where
the cheap ones are. So in order to even get
you to show up, we've got to have a low
price or you'll never show up. So that's why they've
gone to the no hackle pricing. The price is the price.
But here's the tip for you if you're looking for
a deal. If you go to a dealership and you
(01:06:56):
see a red tag on the windshield, that's a signal
that the car is on the We got to get
this car out of here cycle for us twenty one days.
If it's not sold in twenty one days, the used
car managers planning to put that car, to take that
car to the auction to sell it. He would rather
sell it at a deep discount to you versus the auction.
(01:07:19):
He could probably even stand to lose cash at the auction,
So keep that in mind. Speaking of used cars, my
friend Tracy Miller, she texts me over the last break
she was asking about cash cars, and Miss Tracy, I
called over and spoke to the used car manager, Kylon
over at the Sunrise store in Bartlett, Tennessee. He has
right now the cheapest cash car that we have right now.
(01:07:41):
Inventory changes every day. It's going to be a twenty
thirteen Nissan Rogue priced at twenty nine to ninety nine.
Is the cheapest cash car that we have now. Of course,
the day after Thanksgiving Black Friday, we move most of
our cheap units out that day. But it changes all
the time. Just watch the websites on a lot of
(01:08:01):
the dealership's websites now, if you're looking for a particular
vehicle you want to track it, you can even click
a button. It'll track the car for you. When the
price falls, you'll get a notification. So just keep that
in mind, okay, Miss Bell, Before I move forward anything
you got going go home? Brokay. Let me give another
high salute, big shout out to my friend Lisa, Lisa Humphrey,
(01:08:22):
thank you so much. She always calls in to check on.
I got a lot of customers bell that just turn
into my family. I love it. Good mister Odell over
across the bridge. Oh hell, I know you're listening. Thank you,
brother for being my friend. I mentioned Charles Brown. I
love these two and missus Charles Brown. Beautiful people just
call to say hello. You know, it means a lot
in this world. You know, everybody's out trying to do
their thing. Everybody's in their own little lane, uh, you know,
(01:08:44):
on their own, on their own little tread mills. But
you got people like Charles Brown and Constance Phrases just
to call to say hello.
Speaker 4 (01:08:51):
It's a blessing, all right. It is a blessing. It
is a blessing. Let's break. I like it, you like it?
Speaker 2 (01:08:57):
So I got it.
Speaker 4 (01:09:00):
I love you, Terry Spice, I really do. Terry says
he likes it.
Speaker 2 (01:09:05):

D I A s.
Speaker 5 (01:15:07):
Your mind.
Speaker 2 (01:15:12):
I'm telling you just a right appear, enough behoving shows.
Speaker 12 (01:15:22):
You're listening to the Bev Johnson Show.
Speaker 6 (01:15:34):
Here's Bev Johnson.
Speaker 4 (01:15:35):
And we're talking with automotive specialists. Terry Spicer. Terry going
to our phone lines to talk with Beverly.
Speaker 2 (01:15:41):
Hi, Beverly, Hey, how are you? I'm doing well today.
Speaker 10 (01:15:46):
And you, sister, I'm doing good Sunday.
Speaker 4 (01:15:51):
Beautiful Beverly. I meet her at the seventy seventh. Were
you were there the seventy seven? The right Miss Beverly.
Speaker 2 (01:15:57):
Yeah, you're beautiful. I finally got to meet you in person,
lovely lady.
Speaker 10 (01:16:03):
Well, thank you, thank you, thank you. Yeah, I've called
ask you a question. I remember back during the summer month,
you gave some real good advice on how to keep
your your comfort cool. That little button on the day.
Speaker 3 (01:16:22):
With the circle.
Speaker 10 (01:16:23):
That's right, Okay, it worked really really really well. Wow,
that's the same thing applied to the heat.
Speaker 2 (01:16:33):
Yes, because what that button does, uh, you know what,
I'm gonna take a stab at it, but I'm gonna
give you a confirmed answer here. Surely what that button
does when it was speaking for the air condition, when
you press that button, it'll it keeps the air that's
circulating in the cabin. Is it goes back through a
fuiltration system and it comes back in the car fuel traded,
(01:16:56):
so it doesn't take it doesn't make the the engine
or the air conditioning system to work hard to cool
the air, if I'm making any sense. When but when
it's not activated, the the air from the outside is
coming in and the air condition is having to cool
that air off to bring it in. Let me confirm.
(01:17:19):
I'm gonna call my good friend, my good friend agent.
I'm gonna give you a for sure answer over the break.
But I would think to that the thing, same thing
will apply because if you have warm air in the
cabin you press that button, it's working less hard to
keep the warp the air warm versus it coming the
air cold air coming through and it's having to warm
(01:17:41):
that air out. But I'm gonna confirm that with our
good friend Adrian here once I get a connect with them.
Speaker 10 (01:17:47):
Okay, I have another question.
Speaker 2 (01:17:49):
Let's do it.
Speaker 10 (01:17:50):
Okay, you know when you're when you'll drive and in
the wintertime and it's raining and your windows fall up. Yeah,
and then all of a sid you turn the apprenditioner
on to have clear the window.
Speaker 2 (01:18:05):
You gotta hit that. You gotta hit that defrost button.
I had a friend of mine, I was riding with her,
and I think she's describing the same thing you did.
I said, no, you got to hit the de frost
window the button because it's gonna blow the heat up
on the glass to clear that to clear that out.
Speaker 3 (01:18:21):
So you have to don't.
Speaker 10 (01:18:25):
So you don't hit the air condition the button. You
don't hit the air conditioner and the cross. You just
hit the cross.
Speaker 2 (01:18:32):
But right right that, like in my car, there's a
button that the air blows to your feet and on
a button of defrost. So you want to hit you
want to hit it to where the heat hits the
feet and at defrosts at the same time. But you
gotta hit the defrosts. Keep that window clear.
Speaker 4 (01:18:50):
Yeah, you hit the defrost, Beverly, because I hit that,
probably hit the defrost. Don't hit don't hit the air conditioning.
Speaker 2 (01:18:58):
Hit just hit the defrost. Yeah, that's gonna make a
little bit worse, a little bit worse to get the
air button.
Speaker 8 (01:19:04):
Yeah, it's so.
Speaker 1 (01:19:06):
Clear, it up real fast, but it's gonna make me coy.
Speaker 2 (01:19:13):
Miss Beverly. Hold on just a second. I got my
good friend Adrian. Right, I'm on the air here at
w D. I a mister Adrian, mss Miss Beverley has
a question about you know the button when you're driving
in in in the summertime and you you hit this
button to make the air in the cockpit to stay
circulating in the cockpit, so doesn't have to work hard
to you know, to if it's not activated, the air
(01:19:35):
that comes through has to be cool down, so it
makes the system work harder. You know, you know the
button I'm talking about. Yes, that's right. So here's the
quick question I got you live on air, mister Adrian.
She asked the question, does that work in the winter
time with the heat that it does? Does the same
thing it does? Awesome, That's what I told her.
Speaker 7 (01:19:55):
You want to keep that cold air from outside coming in,
so of course you know hard heat up and it
doesn't have to work as hard just as just like
you're just saying, so it was it work, saying it's
like a birth.
Speaker 2 (01:20:08):
No reverse thing, whether.
Speaker 7 (01:20:10):
Or not you want to whatever from outside coming in
with your sister doesn't.
Speaker 2 (01:20:16):
That's it, Adrian man master mechanic. Adrian right over at Winchester.
Speaker 3 (01:20:20):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:20:20):
I'm gonna hang up and give you some let me say.
Speaker 4 (01:20:23):
This Beveron, okay, and Terry that Adrienne will be back
next Thursday, Next Thursday. Asian right Winchester, tyn alignement hiss.
Speaker 2 (01:20:32):
That's right. His number is down on one three four
five five four A four. Thank you, Adrian.
Speaker 1 (01:20:38):
A question, yeah, thank you, thank you. Another course of
hang up and what are your thoughts frombout virginity.
Speaker 2 (01:20:50):
I'm sorry, Genesis. I love that beautiful card. Look, okay,
you're gonna hang up and listen, Beth. That's my advice.
I love that car. Is a good, good looking car.
They got a new Genesis out there where I am. Yeah,
it's it's a it's a it's a very nice car.
I know, and I know some I know a particular
(01:21:11):
salesperson that sells them explode. Well, you know, of course,
you may have your own guy. But if you don't
know anyone, let me know and I can get you
connected with the Genesis sales guy who does a really
good job over there. But no, I love that car.
It's a beautiful product.
Speaker 10 (01:21:23):
Compared to the Porch.
Speaker 2 (01:21:24):
Though, what about the up the Porsche? You know, of course,
your high end cars. I'm gonna wing this answer. This
is not scientific. Okay, okay, any of the higher end cars,
they're going to be more expensive to maintain. My brother
owned the Porch, so I know, I think he had
(01:21:46):
I think it's all changed. Was I think he said
twelve hundred dollars we only done. He only had to
change it once a year though. I think this is
what he told me. But anyway, you know, a quick
a quick Google search, Miss Beverly can help you with that.
You know, AI and Google, those searches can help you
pretty quickly. I would think, you know, I'm not gonna
(01:22:07):
think I'm gonna just do it. I just even if
you hang up, I'm gonna tell you over there, okay, yeah, okay,
so you're gonna look. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:22:19):
So Genesis is more budget friendly luxury brand than that,
uh that offers more standard features and a longer warranty,
while Porsche is a higher end performance brand, like I said,
known for superior handling, brand prestige and higher resale value.
Speaker 2 (01:22:41):
So just go to Google and type in Porsche versus
Genesis and you will get the answer that I just read.
Ms Beth.
Speaker 4 (01:22:50):
All right, your favorite person five father, my god, good gracious.
Speaker 2 (01:22:58):
I don't know, fav fave. What are you saying? What
is he saying? Whole wide world?
Speaker 5 (01:23:02):
What?
Speaker 2 (01:23:02):
What what he said?
Speaker 5 (01:23:03):
Whole why?
Speaker 3 (01:23:04):
Whole world world?
Speaker 2 (01:23:05):
Why you do it?
Speaker 3 (01:23:08):
You do it? Why are you doing? How you do it?
Speaker 9 (01:23:11):
Man? You are.
Speaker 2 (01:23:13):
Funny?
Speaker 5 (01:23:14):
Man?
Speaker 2 (01:23:15):
How you doing?
Speaker 3 (01:23:17):
Oh man, you're getting confidential. But I'll let you in
on doing good.
Speaker 2 (01:23:21):
Thank your father, good brother, I mean from you. That's
that's the sales a lot. I appreciate that.
Speaker 3 (01:23:27):
Hey, man, the same with you. Man, I'll tell you
what I'm making you.
Speaker 4 (01:23:31):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:23:32):
One of the top sales was for people who want
to want to buy something, that want to be treated right.
Oh man, some of our people, man, they need to
grow up. Take out this car. I know a store.
I went now to buy a bureau whatever. And I
put the money on the counter, and you know what
the raise? She said. I didn't come up here to
(01:23:54):
get economically, uh, economically into when you. I come up
here to make a purchase. And I know you would
never do a thing like that. But anyway, I just
want you to know some of the conditions of some
of our people, you know who, and I want to know.
I want to know that you are one example how
to treat people right. You get better results, that's right,
(01:24:15):
better results.
Speaker 2 (01:24:16):
That's right. You know when you look real quick. So
you said that, you know, one of the one of
the reason I moved the way I moved, because it's
not about the money for me. It's really about making
for sure people get a good experience.
Speaker 4 (01:24:31):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:24:32):
It's interesting enough when when someone comes into a dealership,
because I work at a dealership, When you come into
a dealership and maybe you hadn't bought a car in
ten years, they remember, They may forget your name, but
they don't remember how you was treated.
Speaker 3 (01:24:46):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (01:24:47):
So I want to make sure I can remember. Here's
a quick story, quick story. I bought this is back
in it. This is back in the late nineties, I believe. Yeah,
late nineties. I was buying a Lexus. And I can
remember when I bought that Lexus. I cannot remember that
sales dude name. If you put a gun to me,
I would be out of here. But I can remember
(01:25:07):
the experience he gave me. I remember I asked him
a question. I says, Man, I had already bought the car.
We were in the car, he was showing me some
There wasn't much the show where you only had a
you had a CD player and a tape deck. It
was real minimal. But I forgot to ask him that
I have the high intensity lights. He says, I'm not sure.
I remember. He got out the car, he walked to
the front and he jumped, Man, you got it. I
(01:25:29):
remember that, I said, I remember that to this day.
He just gave me a great experience and I do
not remember that. But anyway, getting back to the point,
one of my one of my main objectives is to
make for sure even if you do come and don't
buy a car. I want to make for sure that
you remember the experience that you got. But father, I
cut you off. Go ahead and continue.
Speaker 3 (01:25:50):
I'm sorry, I know we'll finish up. Barry bridsent on
that point. I was making about the store or whatever
that wanted me to put the money on account of
want him to get economically to me, and I'm just
trying to make a sell. I mean, I think that's
ridiculous and people need to uh get upost the count
of thing quit running their customers away, you know, because
that's what they're gonna do. They remember some people like
(01:26:11):
they remember something, man, they remember that, and uh.
Speaker 2 (01:26:14):
That's right, that's right.
Speaker 3 (01:26:16):
I was gonna say food for the car manufacturers. The
only thing I could point out to them, and I
like for them to correct is I've noticed this on volkswagons. Uh,
gim and toy older when you first man show the
celebrator there that it's a spin hensitation. But they catch
you something real quick. But I wish take up really
picture and they'll let problem down. That would be really nice.
(01:26:39):
And uh, while I got to a let me say
that to missus devilin, I think, what's up, NBC? You
had a toy oder Uh that you was bent to
one time. And if you ain't that so that I
know somebody who got some cashing the it would like
to get a car like that. And if you could
find a way to contact me, Oh no, I need
to find a way, and I would like to purchase,
make a purchase on that for her. And uh, anyway,
(01:27:01):
how you doing, father, your father man, and only your
sales too. Already I'm saying about the sales one that
did that that so that she represented. They went out
of business because I even told the manager, hey, man,
she won't take my money, put it in her hand,
and she didn't do that. I took my money and
(01:27:22):
went on away. And the whole business says one away.
So she just sales practices in your business if you
want continue business, you know, comedy folks. All the thing that,
all the thing they want is this. I want my paycheck.
I don't care for this whole billing fall now I
want my pay roll kick and they'll run you out
of business. Thank you in there all right.
Speaker 2 (01:27:43):
Father the future, Thank you for I still got that
picture with you a few years ago. When you ready
let me know how, I'll send it to you. I
don't think. He said. Okay, oh, he said, okay, okay.
The future awesome, awesome. So I want to I want
to mention something one of our good friends, Prince.
Speaker 4 (01:28:01):
Charles, Prince of the Charles Deer Slayer, the Dear Slayer,
the Crappy catch it, the Crappy Killer. Yeah, I know,
And so Prince Charles, and again I got I got
permission to share the story. So I'm not just out
here just saying it's just talking, that's right. I talked
to Prince and I got permission. So I think it
(01:28:23):
was in twenty two. End of twenty two, I believe
it was. And Prince Charles wanted.
Speaker 2 (01:28:30):
A particular vehicle, particularly Cadillac, and I wasn't on the
ground working. I was still connected to the dealership. So
I got him connected to a dealer and they found
the car that he wanted. It was out of town.
And Prince Charles A, he's an upstanding gentleman. I am
just proud to he's my friend. They found the car,
(01:28:53):
they brought the car in, he looked at it, physically,
looked at it, liked the car.
Speaker 4 (01:28:57):
He knew that it was priced too much. He confirmed
it with himself by doing his own research. The bank,
the financials said is going to be a price a
little bit high. But again, he bought the car when
prices were high. And he says, you know what, Terry,
I could turn around and not buy this car, but
I'm a man of my word. I had the dealer
(01:29:17):
to bring it in. It's priced too much. I know
it's priced too much, but I'm gonna go. I'm gonna
buy it because I told him I want the car,
and they brought it in for me. Now, Prince got
the car, took really good careacter the car, loved the car,
loved it, and he had I guess for the last year,
(01:29:40):
year and a half maybe and again, Prince Charles, you know,
he's a man.
Speaker 2 (01:29:43):
He didn't need a car, just he was wanting to
replace the one he had. So he was looking for
a particular another Calidaca, but suv full sized suv truck.
And you know something happened. The Calac that he knew
that he paid too much for it was stolen. Wow.
(01:30:08):
I know I hate that for Prince Yeah wow, But
I will say this here. You know a Prince would
have paid that car, you know, and just you know,
paid it off but it was stolen an eye and
I was sticking to myself. When we hung up the phone,
I said, you know what, Prince, I'm sure he realizes,
but he he his prayer was answering. I mean, I know,
it's kind of a bad thing that happened, but you know,
he had to deal with it. I think he was
(01:30:30):
maybe traveling. He came back, he got it handled. But
you know what, miss Bell, he sent me a picture
of a few weeks two or three weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (01:30:36):
What is that?
Speaker 2 (01:30:37):
A beautiful red Cadillac. I'm gonna show you the picture.
It's beautiful. God has blessed you, Prince Charles, because you're
a good guy. Princes Again, he's one of those persons
that would just call you randomly out the blue to
check on you. Don't want anything, just calling the check
on you, and you know, and you've been blessed brother,
(01:30:58):
you know, so, Prince, he's a guy that does the
right thing all the time, even when no one is looking.
And you know, even though a car being stolen is
not something that you want to have, but you know
that high end, that high price card that you pay
too much for. It was solved and he got what
he really wanted at a really fair price. Congratulations to you,
(01:31:19):
Prince Charles. Sorry you had to deal with that, but
God has blessed you with a really nice truck. I'm
sure youre a picture of it, Miss Bell, once we
get settled here. But let's move. I wanted to make
sure I gave you all that and let me before
because Bell's eyes are getting a little bit big, so
I know that wolfleball bat that person, she's about to
run me out of here. Let me just leave it
a little bit of advice here, because we're about to
go into the holiday season. We're going to be spending
(01:31:41):
a lot of money on families, the children, you know,
getting the house decorated for Christmas. Some of us, and
it happens to all of us, to the best of us.
We have seen our scores seven eight hundred, and sometimes
we see our scores go down. They'll go down to
the five and the sixth and will people will come
(01:32:02):
and visit with me and they and I'll tell them
you don't have to explain, because life is like you know,
the credit is like the stock market. It's not static.
It's going to go up and it's going to go down.
We've all had our scores really, really high. You get
a credit card, you almost max that card. I watch
what happens to your credit score is coming down. The
score will go back up once you pay that card down.
(01:32:22):
But I gave you that little prelude to say this here.
If you go to buy a car, and let's say
you're in a position to where you have to get
a car, and let's say your credit is not worried
want you want your credit to be. And they come
back and they show you a payment that's higher than
you wanted to be. The interest rate is higher than
you've seen it in past. Friends, just know that. Let
(01:32:45):
me say this here too before I go there. It's interesting.
Sometimes we'll get someone to come in buy themselves, and
they're trying to buy a car and the rate comes
back at twenty percent, and they're trying to get their
credit rebuilt, and they'll call someone on the phone and
the person on the phone, wait, well, but multiply the
payment times the month, seventy two months times five that's
(01:33:06):
too Yeah, it's too much at that interest rate. But
that's what we call a third baser there. You know,
I would love for that person to come in and
join the conversation so they can hear everything out. I'm
giving you some advice. Sometimes it's hard for people to
hear it, but you we all go through a tough time.
Here is the advice. If your credit is challenged and
(01:33:29):
you in a position where you have to get a
car and they come out with a payment and a
rate that's higher than you wanted to be, then you
think the rate higher than you think you deserve. Use
it as a strategy if you don't have more money
to put down, or if you don't have a co
signer that can help you get that rate down. Family,
(01:33:49):
it has to be a strategy. If it's a car
that you can deal with for a couple of years,
twenty up to twenty four months. My rule of thumb
stand always get see when I say this here. My
rule of thumb is buy a car with the intention
of keeping that car for thirteen payments. Here's what's staying
(01:34:10):
always laughs. The sweet spot is eighteen payments a year
and a half. That's the sweet spot, and no more
than twenty four payments. Remember when I just said, the
person of the phone will call and say, we'll calculate
the payment times the term and let They always say
that's too Yeah, it's too high, But they don't they're strategies.
They're not gonna keep the car for the whole term.
(01:34:33):
They're using this as a building block to get their
credit back on track. The person on the phone never
wants to co sign, and they never want to put
help with the cash down. So I want to say, look,
hang up the come in here and put the cash
down and sign, or stop giving this bad advice. Now,
if they're gonna participate, then yeah, say everything you want
to say and come in and assist. But going back
(01:34:55):
to the point here, I'm making a little bit of
a side joke here, but you I hide that cart
at the payment in term that you you're not gonna
be happy with. But you're not gonna do that for
thirteen payments. Now you say, Terry, why are you saying
this odd thirteen payment? Why not twelve? I say thirteen,
because when you make the thirteenth payment, you know that
(01:35:18):
twelve other payments are showing up on your credit file.
So when you go to try to trade that vehicle
in or perhaps even refinance the vehicle if you like
it that much, you know twelve of the payments are
on the file, and if you've made perfect payments, chances
are it's gonna be more likely that you're gonna get
(01:35:39):
that next loan approved through the trade or the refinancing,
so you don't have to pay that high interest rate
for seventy two payments. I want you just to keep
that in mind. That's some advice for you. And I
have to kind of school my guess who are who
may be in a challenge situation. And it happens to everybody,
fam and myself included. We've all seen our scores real
high and they go up and they go down. But
(01:36:01):
miss Bell before I okay, yeah for you gods and
big so here we go, Here we go. If you
need to reach me for more, more surgical, more tailored advice,
