Speaker 1 (00:01):
Wake up.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
It gets my day going. It makes me laugh.
Speaker 3 (00:08):
I of it.
Speaker 4 (00:08):
MC and Schmitty in the morning on Star one oh
five point seven.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
Good morning, Schmitty, Good morning. Welcome into your Wednesday. It's
Mack and Schmitty. And hey, time's ound there a little
below twenty in most areas around West Michigan heighths to
day into the mid twenties. Our cold snap continues, Schmitty.
And yesterday we had salty Schmitty on Tuesdays. We always
do that seven forty five a chance to vent, And
yesterday it was about hearing somebody say, hey, the sun
(00:35):
will set at seven pm in seventy days, right, And
how terrible that made you feel? Because that's not close. No,
And I'm gonna try and do a little better right here,
because I just saw it with our friends from wood
TV eight. By the end of the month, you have
more than forty five minutes more daylight coming your way
each and every day.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Sure is that up? I mean, it says a little
better feeling right.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Kind of you don't even though January is like the gloomiest,
cloudiest make.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Sure sure yeah, yah, yeah, every day we're got a
little better.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Honestly, these cold tempts.
Speaker 5 (01:04):
It's what I'm gonna blame it on because I really
thought it was gonna be a cool mom.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Last night.
Speaker 5 (01:08):
I was gonna take my kids so that we want
more bus tour with the Lions at the score, and
I did not. I'm watching I'm watching the news last
night and they had reported like five forty five to
eight thirty. Well, I guess that's when the bus gets there,
so things really didn't kick off until like six forty
five seven.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
I'm looking outside, I'm like, well, you know what, I think.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
We're just gonna watch the Facebook coverage and pretend we're there.
So that's the parenting I'm at in my New.
Speaker 6 (01:35):
Year, movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 5 (01:44):
Well, celebrities across LA taking to social media to express
their devastation over the destructive Pacific Palisades wildfire that is
a big story this morning. It's been burning out of
control since yesterday. More than thirty thousand people have been
told to evacuate, and it's threatening more than ten thousand homes.
(02:04):
Some of Hollywood's biggest stars, by the way, living in
this area that includes Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt,
asking for those of him those of people following him
to send prayers and strength to everyone, including the brave
firefighters and first responders working tirelessly to protect lives, homes,
and wildlife as they battle now three fast moving wildfires
(02:29):
fueled by fierce winds. They're looking at gusts up to
one hundred miles per hour. Julianne Huff also lives in
the Hollywood Hills, sharing footage from her backyard showing Canada
Air cl four fifteen trying to do anything it can
to stifle these flames. Christie Brinkley reposting pictures as well
as Hailey Bieber from their respective homes. I mean it's
(02:52):
really wild. There's fire in their backyards.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
I mean this is insane to look at. And when
you're talking about one hundred miles an hour winds and
you think to yourself, like, oh, forest fires don't really
happen in heavily populated areas. Here's the thing. All that
stuff is fuel for fire. All that stuff can continue
to help those fires blaze.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
Somebody said they had gotten like decent rain in months,
and they said that it had covered one hundred acres
just in the first hour of it burning. We're gonna
have more about that coming up in your West Michigan
wake up. Oh very sad news. Peter Yarro of the
famous trio Peter, Paul and Mary has passed away.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
He was eighty six years old, battling cancer.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
The news was confirmed by his publicist yesterday, Peter passing
away in his home on Manhattan's Upper West Side. The
cause of death bladder cancer. He'd been diagnosed four years
ago and did battle the disease until his death. Of course,
his most famous hit right here with Puff, but he
did so much Studied at Corn now cracked the top
(03:56):
twenty multiple times on the Billboard charts, even turning his
timeless children's song into a picture book for kids. This
is the second member of Peter paula Mary. Mary died
back in two thousand and nine, so that means Paul
is the last surviving member.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
My mom was a big fan of Peter, Paul and Mary,
and I actually had the Puff the Magic Dragon book
as a kid and loved this song.
Speaker 5 (04:19):
Oh nice, And finally the big passing in the news world,
Richard Cohen, you might not recognize the name, but it's
the longtime husband of former Today Show host Meredith Vieira.
The two had been married for thirty eight years, Richard
passing away right before Christmas Eve following a decades long
(04:39):
battle with multiple sclerosis. The Today Show, where Meredith served
as co anchor for years, announced Richard's passing towards the
end of the show yesterday morning, a fellow newsman as well,
surrounded by family on Christmas Eve. Really sweet story that
Meredith shared with Savannah on Hoda.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
All of the kids came around Thanksgiving because they were
concerned they were going to lose him early.
Speaker 7 (05:04):
But instead they got a month, a glorious month, she said,
with their dad.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
She said, a new grand baby, had a new red Yes,
just added so much life. And she's in really good spirits.
She was such a beautiful and devoted wife to Richard,
and he adored her.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Meredith.
Speaker 5 (05:22):
Yeah, Richard of course survived by Meredith, and there are
three adult kids.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
He was seventy six.
Speaker 5 (05:26):
All of your celeb scoop at West Michigan Star dot Com.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Sometime does that get a good feeling? Well, good morning
to you.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
It's Mack and Schmidty here to try and make it
even a little better right now for you feeling good
on star Win on five point seven and schmidty Dan
Campbell wouldn't surprise you to know that he's a very
caffeinated gentleman.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
No, I see the pictures every week every week.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
The guy is famous for his coffee. As a matter
of fact, a while back even shared with reporters what
his Starbucks order would actually be.
Speaker 7 (05:56):
I go, you know, Starbucks, and get two venti of
the pipe with two shots in them, so black Eye
and both.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
Yeah, he's not messing around. He is putting it in
there for sure. But the thing is he's not drinking
Starbucks anymore, Schmitty. Because the Detroit Lions have an official
coffee partner as of this season, with none other than
Grand Rapids based Ferris Coffee.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Schmitty.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
I thought this was so cool to see as we've
got the Ferres coffee pot sitting right outside of the studio.
Often have it right here with this as well, but
they have got their motor City blend on here that
they have put out just as the official Lion's partner.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
This is really cool.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
It's a dark roast and Aj Willett, you know, talking
about all of the different flavors that are in there. Bold, Grit,
and every Man is how it's described Sarah Eck, who
is with Ferris Coffee, talking to Fox seventeen about just
what they thought of when they wanted to create this coffee.
Speaker 8 (06:53):
There's things that even non fans know about Dan Campbell.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
He goes for on the fourth, you know, a little
bit centric in his place, and the guy loves coffee.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
The guy loves his coffee, that is for sure.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
And to embody those three things again, Bold, great and
every man pretty cool. They are selling them at Costco's
all over the state of Michigan. But I just thought
it was awesome that the Detroit Lions official coffee partner
right here in Grand Rapids.
Speaker 5 (07:18):
So, speaking of coach Dan Campbell, I just want to
point out from his press conference yesterday, this is just
a good hearted man. There's been a lot of talk
right about his offensive and defensive coordinators. Bill they're in
Glenn and Ben Johnson have been already you talked to
by multiple teams in the NFL for potential head coaching positions.
You'd think, no, no, no, we want him to say. I'm
(07:39):
not gonna say nice things. That's just not Dan Campbell's way.
Speaker 7 (07:42):
Ern Bam is a good coach, as you're going to find,
he's an even better human being. But look, if nobody
wants them, I'll take him again. I can tell you
that right now. But the thought of going through another
cycle and he's not somebody's head coach is ridiculous. I mean,
this as good as they came, and you can do
(08:02):
it all. Both of those guys, man, they're smart, they're grinders,
they're strategic, they understand how to teach, communicate, motivate, and
so their work speaks for itself.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
I mean it's like a resume builder, and you're someone
that obviously doesn't want to lose these guys, but they're
even better human beings. The other awesome part when asked Campbell,
you eat, sleep, and breathe this game.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
What are you going to do this weekend?
Speaker 7 (08:29):
I'll have to drink the game.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
He's just so great. I've got some great clips up
for you. Get you feeling good for sure. At West Michigan, Star.
Speaker 6 (08:37):
Dot com movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 4 (08:41):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 5 (08:46):
Well all eyes on the West Coast as three major
wildfires have been burning since yesterday, the biggest of that
the Pacific Palisades Fire, which is threatening dozens of celebrity homes.
Mo'm TV reality stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are
the first victims, with their home officially lost in the wildfire.
(09:08):
They posted to Instagram last night showing a video of
flames overtaking their entire home. Now luckily the entire family
was able to safely evacuate earlier in the day to
another location, but they are absolutely devastated by the loss.
This is in an area of southern California home to
quite a few in Hollywood celebrities, including Tom Hanks and
(09:29):
Rita Wilson, Miles Teller, Reese Witherspoon, Adam Sandler, and Michael
Keaton just some of the names of people that are
going to be in that evacuation area. Actor James Woods
posting a video of the flames creeping into his backyard
before he evacuated.
Speaker 9 (09:45):
Then the driveway getting ready to evacuate.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
We've got a lot of planes going over dropping water, but.
Speaker 5 (09:54):
With wind gusts hitting one hundred miles per hour overnight
last night, officials have not yet said what caused the wildfire,
but this is proving to be very challenging to get
under control.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
I think, like most people, when I think of a
fire like this, I think of woods and fields and
trees and things like that. To see it happen in
sort of a more established neighborhoods and urban areas like
this is just so wild to see.
Speaker 5 (10:18):
I read ten thousand structures right now are at risk,
and these are like famous Hollywood historical landmarks that could
be lost in this fire. Alison Holker is on a
media blitz to promote per upcoming memoir and sparking a
serious family feud with her widow's family, Steven Twitch Boss.
(10:39):
A lot of this book is about her late husband.
It is due out in February. It's called This Far
My Story of Love, Loss and Embracing the Light. Here's
the problem. In a new interview with People magazine, Allison
labels Twitch a drug user. Take a listen to what
she says she found in the closet before his funeral.
Speaker 8 (11:01):
There was a moment I was with one of my
really dear friends and we were cleaning out the closet
and picking out an outfit for him for the funeral,
and it was a really triggering moment for me because
there was a lot of things I discovered in our
closet that I did not know existed, and it was
very alarming to me to learn that there was so
(11:21):
much happening that I had no clue, so that it
was a really scary moment in my life to figure
that out. But it also helped me process that he
was going through so much, and he was hiding so much,
and there must have been a lot of shame in that,
and he was wrestling with a lot inside himself, and
he was trying to self medicate and cope with all
(11:42):
those feelings because he didn't want to put it on
anyone because he loved everyone so much. He didn't want
other people to take on his pain.
Speaker 5 (11:49):
Almost immediately, the comments section blowing up with family members
of Steven saying this is an absolute lie. Courtney on
Platt was very close friends with the family. She fired
the first shot yesterday afternoon, saying that everyone had to
sign an NDA before going to the funeral, and she goes,
(12:09):
this crazy woman made me and his family sign an
NDA just to attend a funeral. She's been trying to
tarnish his legacy and refuses to let the Boss family
see the kids only to exploit and lie. Other family
members of Twitches have come to that rescue, saying this
is absolutely untrue. He was not a drug user. Also,
(12:32):
you're doing everything but protecting your kids and your husband's legacy.
You could have kept this in your therapist's office.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
This is a.
Speaker 5 (12:39):
Disgusting money grab. So far, Allison is not officially commented
on this, although she did repost a fan account with
all of these comments and just called the attacks wild
last night.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
I mean, it's just sad to see, you know, the
breakup of a family post a tragedy like this just
in general. And they're right, it is get to affect
the kids, and this stuff is for rapp and it's
always going to be out there.
Speaker 5 (13:01):
Finally, Jenna Bush Hager has revealed she has a star
studded lineup planned for the third hour of the Today
Show once Hoda Copy officially leaves. Her last day is Friday.
These names are pretty fun. Comes with a new show
name as well.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
Today with Jenna and Friends, and we put the first
guest Toronate p yea.
Speaker 6 (13:26):
Hammer.
Speaker 5 (13:27):
Quite a lineup. This is an exciting one as well.
Scarlett Johansson has signed on to do quite a bit
of guest hosting work, Jenna telling people she is the Queen.
I've been obsessed with her movies since forever. The Girl
with a Pearl Earring I mean shows you. I'm a
nerd and I love to read, but Scarlet is also
a big reader. This is going to be so much fun.
We have a ton in common. So the guest hosting
(13:49):
will start on Monday.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
I'm sorry I'm gonna miss Hoda, but also I can't
hear Jenna and friends and not think that, like some
puppets are gonna come out got everything.
Speaker 5 (14:01):
I've got the full announcement for you with your scoop
at West Michigan Star dot Com.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Back, good morning to you. It's Mac and Schmidty.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
And you know I'm excited for this, sch Middi because
in a age where all the world's information is at
our fingertips, conspiracy theories have never been bigger, and so
the idea of there being one about you floating around
at your.
Speaker 5 (14:20):
First grade in the first grade, Yes.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
I love this. I'm here for this conspiracy.
Speaker 5 (14:24):
See you guys know I have worked a morning show
for eighteen years, and with that comes waking up at
four and then not doing any of the morning routine.
So I rarely drop will off at school. I rarely,
you know, I'm able to do a lot of that
morning stuff. So at the beginning of the winter break,
(14:45):
we're having dinner and I'm asking him how excited it
is for the next two weeks off and this and that.
And I did get a chance to drop him off
Thursday and Friday before break because I took the days
off to have some time with the kids. And apparently
a couple of his friends noticed that, and he was
talking to us at the dinner table and he goes, yeah,
my friends were really excited that you got to take
(15:06):
me to school.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
I said, well, that's cool. Do they know you know
I work weird hours.
Speaker 5 (15:10):
So that's why he goes, no, they said, you know
when like you're I can't remember the word when your
mom and dad don't live together anymore because they're they
don't really love each other anymore. And I go, do
your friends think your dad and I are divorced?
Speaker 2 (15:31):
And he goes, yes, that's the word.
Speaker 5 (15:33):
You guys are divorced, And I Chris lost his mind.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
He is laughing so hard, and I go like, he
doesn't even know what that word is. And I'm like, buddy, we.
Speaker 5 (15:45):
Are not divorced, like we just your mom works weird hours.
Do you have no other kids in your class whose
parents don't work a different kind of schedule? I said,
I know for a fact one of the friends we
walk home with. Her mom is an overnight labor and
delivery nurse, so she works like seven to seven. He goes, yeah, no,
it's okay.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Though.
Speaker 5 (16:06):
One of my friends, Matt, said that divorced parents are
fine because he gets lots of extra parties. So everyone
in my child's class, and I assume his teacher as well,
because I missed parent teacher conferences because I got COVID.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
Well, you mean, because you're a terrible mind thinks.
Speaker 5 (16:21):
That I'm divorced. I was absolutely stunned by that. Every
So now I'm figuring out, like, how, you know, can
I go and volunteer at the Valentine' Day party?
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Can I?
Speaker 5 (16:30):
But also, I'm a grown woman and I should not
be so affected by what seven year olds think.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
But I am.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
I really want you or Chris to individually go to
the next parent teacher conference just a week and keep
this train and going.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
Chris wants is like, all alone, this is gonna show.
Speaker 5 (16:47):
Up and be like, oh, you know what, it's just
been really busy being mom and dad to these kids.
So yes, I don't I don't know if you will
come into contact with anyone who is in the Rockford area.
Chris and I are doing great. We have a very
strong foundation. We are not divorced, despite the fact that
my son's entire class thinks that because I never show
(17:10):
up to do anything.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
You know what, I bet you there's some single dads
in that class that are like, I'm sorry, who's who's
mom's Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Right, no, take it's wearing a ring.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
Let's set up a play date.
Speaker 5 (17:21):
I'm telling you, you mess up drop off one time
and your reputation and marriage ruins.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
You know.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
I'm just glad for you and Chris, you know, glad
for you and Chris.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
Yeah that your son gets gone, but you is no, sorry, guys,
not divorced.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
She's got to go to work tomorrow.
Speaker 7 (17:36):
I does.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
Chris is thrilled. He's like, man, I bet this means
a little more ice fishing time before me.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
I'm like, shut up, I love you styling a fine
point seven Mack and Schmidy with you this morning and
your weekly reminder that when you're feeling like maybe you're
not doing the greatest job but parenting.
Speaker 5 (17:50):
You're not alone, and you know it really doesn't matter
how hard you try to parent this away.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
It's science.
Speaker 5 (18:01):
Firstborn and second born are two completely different people, even
though they were raised the same way and the same
household with the same parents. And it was fully on
display when my kids went sledging over the weekend. First
born caution, making sure everything is where it's supposed to
be and using some safe safe ideas. Second born, let
(18:23):
me position myself for maximum impact while I take my
brother down.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
You know what. I posted this to my TikTok.
Speaker 5 (18:30):
It's gotten thousands of views already, with parents going I'm
so glad I'm not the only ones. So if you're
a parent of two or more, we out here just
letting them live.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
And at the same time, as a parent, THOSHMIDI, with
your first kid, you're sort of like overly cautious and
you need to trying to do it all by the book.
But time you get around of that second kid, you're like, hey,
you're gonna be fine.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
That's okay.
Speaker 6 (18:52):
I bet that's the science, movies, music, and all the
gossip in one place.
Speaker 4 (19:00):
It's the celebrities gup on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 5 (19:04):
The Pacific Palisades fire in southern California continues to threaten
lives and structures. More than thirty thousand people have now
been given an evacuation order. That includes multiple celebrities that
live in the area like Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Aniston, Miley Cyrus,
even the Kardashians. But a very scary moment for Star
(19:26):
Wars actor Mark Hamill last night. He's been posting fire
updates from his Instagram and let fans know. Seven pm
Local time, he evacuated Malibu. While there were small fires
at the time on both sides of the road, as
they approached the Pacific Coast Highway, those grew massive in minutes.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
He said it is the.
Speaker 5 (19:47):
Most horrific fire he has seen since nineteen ninety three.
Speaking to The La Times, Eugene Levy, also evacuating, said
the smoke looked so black and intense coming off to
Mescal Canyon. Couldn't see any flames because the smoke was
that dark. This is really scary stuff. Travis Barker's family
(20:08):
also evacuating the area, as they are now fighting three
separate fires as of this morning.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
I mean, you talked about it, the one hundred mile
an hour winds and gus going like that. It is
going to be so hard to get this thing under
control until those stop. I mean, it's just going to
be something that they can, you know, try and slow
down a little bit, because there's no way you're containing
it until you get that.
Speaker 5 (20:31):
Did Ryan Reynolds reference director Justin Baldoni in his nice
Pool character? If you haven't seen the New Deadpool in Wolverine,
we were introduced to nice Pool. Well, now that there
is yet another round of accusations and lawsuits from Justin Baldoni,
director and co star of It Ends with Us, and
(20:53):
Ryan's wife Blake Lively.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
A lot on TikTok are.
Speaker 5 (20:57):
Talking about a deleted scene, and it definitely sounds like
Ryan taken a little bit of a hit at Justin.
I'd be finding a lot aside them with my calling
is to one day host a podcast and monetizes the
women's book. Then yeah, if you didn't know, Baldoni co
hosts the podcast The man enough with his producing partner,
(21:18):
who also happens to be named in the sexual harassment
complaint that Lively filed back in December. TikTok user Amrekista says,
I mean, come on, guys, that's not even subtle.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
Well, and they talked about how Ryan joined Blake Lively
for a private meeting with Justin talking about like inappropriate
behavior that he had had on set and trying to
get it to figure out this seems right up his.
Speaker 5 (21:41):
As and then Justin said, that's now what happened at all,
and there were not stars around. I mean, this thing
is so challenging to follow, and it is only going
to get worse. Finally, Kylie Kelsey has made a very
interesting confession about meeting now husband Jason on the dating
app Tender. You have to listen to her. I'm not
gonna lie podcast yet. It is so good. She talks
(22:03):
and says, I didn't have any horror stories before I
met Jason because honestly, I had never met up with
a person from Tender. I'd never used a dating app.
And you know, if you're gonna go that route, I
wish you all the luck. I think I won Tender
and I don't know if I would ever do it again.
Sitting there and swiping through people just makes you feel
some kind of way. But honestly, it was super fun.
(22:24):
Walked into this bar to meet up with him. He
seemed pretty cool, and then forty five minutes into the date,
he fell asleep on the bar. But you know what,
it worked out. Fourth kid on the way, and I'm
pretty happy.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
That was the moment she knew that this was still
one because.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
Then you asked Jason, he says, at the second she
walked in, most beautiful woman I've ever seen, and she's like,
you fell asleep on the bar forty minutes into me
sitting down.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
It's so great.
Speaker 5 (22:47):
I've got the full pod for you with your scoop
at West Michigan Star dot com.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
Star Little Fine points you haven't it his time to
battle Nik and Swiddy with you, getting you over to
the very first Rise game of this second season of
our Grand Rapids Rise.
Speaker 5 (23:01):
Yeah, this is the home opener for the Rise. Omaha's
Supernovas are coming to town Sunday night at six pm,
so maybe the kids can stay up a little links
it's worth it. Here's today's battle question one hundred men surveyed,
Name the part of your body you complain is too big?
Speaker 8 (23:18):
Ooh?
Speaker 3 (23:19):
One hundred men surveyed, here SCHMIDI all I know is
that whenever my wife does the phrase does this make
my blank look too big? And sert body part there,
the answer is always no.
Speaker 5 (23:29):
And also you were saying that before the sentence even ends.
I hope, oh, thank you No.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
No.
Speaker 5 (23:34):
Six one six four eight, one oh five seven dollar seven.
One hundred men surveyed, Name the part of your body
you complain is too big? Number one answer? You will
be with me at the Grand Rapids Rise home opener
this Sunday with Star one oh five point seven, Good
morning Star.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
Who's this?
Speaker 5 (23:54):
This is Kelly, Kelly.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
Where are you coming from today?
Speaker 8 (23:57):
I'm in Rockford?
Speaker 3 (23:58):
All right, Kelly, allow me to make things awkward real quick.
One hundred men were asked to name a body a
part of their bodies the people complain is too big?
And before I get to what men said, I want
to go ahead. What is the part of your body
you complain about the most?
Speaker 5 (24:14):
What you said, honey?
Speaker 1 (24:16):
What's that? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (24:17):
For you?
Speaker 1 (24:17):
Personally?
Speaker 5 (24:18):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (24:18):
Bot absolutely complaining about the booty?
Speaker 3 (24:23):
All right? Well, one hundred guys were asked that question,
what do you think their top answer was, I'm.
Speaker 6 (24:27):
Going to go with their belly.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
You're gonna go with their belly.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
You know, as much as guys want to talk about
how their dad bod is super sexy, we often complain
about it quite a bit too, or at least I do.
As I'm tapping that thing, looking at it like a
keg instead of a six pack.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
Belly's the top answer. Congratulation.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
Yeah you home opener for the Grand Rapids Rise coming
up this Sunday.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
It's gonna be a blast.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
You are very welcome.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
For the record, it was belly, followed by the booty,
then you're nose and your feet rounding out those top answers.
But we all complain about something, but congratulations and we'll
do it again tomorrow. Battle of the Sex is eight
fifteen every weekday here on Star.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
Come on to you.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
It's Mack and Schmidty, and I feel like this definitely
happens for parents, but really any of us. Will we
lose something really important and the lengths that we're willing
to go through to get it back?
Speaker 5 (25:24):
Schmitten, By really important, you mean how much it cost?
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Usually because that's what I was like, I'm like, I
might have to go for that.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
Yeah. And I mean every parent who's you know, rummaged
around finding their kids retainers and nasty places can relate
to this because dinner just the other night, my daughter's
had this wiggly tooth, one of her final baby teeth
is still in there, and it's been you know, sitting
there ready to come out for a while, and she's
inting dinner and lo and behold, got something weird in
my mouth. Oh it's a tooth. So pops out right
(25:53):
there at the dinner table and she's got it and
she sets it down on her plates, waiting so she
can put it under her pillow for the tooth fairy
later on.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
We go through our meal and get done, wrap things up,
clean out dinner. We're of course ready for bedtime you know,
comes around eight thirty and my kids will do anything
to stall. And there was a built in excuse the
other night because she was like, oh, I gotta put
my tooth out of the pillow, right and immediately. That's
for a kid, though, when the wave of terror comes
and your stomach falls out of your butt and you realize,
(26:21):
Oh god, I think I threw away my tub.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
Yeah, of course she did.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
Even worse though, Schmitty, I had already collected the trash
from that day, or from dinner and everything else, taking
it out to our trash bin, sitting out in the cold,
in the snow, and I, in that moment, I think
I'm a smart parent, and so I go, I saw right, sweetheart.
The tooth fairy knows what happened. It'll be fine. And
(26:47):
that's when my wife goes, oh no, we're gonna go
dig through that trash.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
Oh oh, why why would you do that?
Speaker 1 (26:54):
I don't know, Smitty, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
I guess you could tell the disappointment on my daughter's
face losing it, or.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
The tooth fairy sees all. She's omnipresent.
Speaker 3 (27:03):
I'm so with you, the test skilled Yeah no, no, no, no, no, no,
so instead good. We sat there digging through a trash
and dang it, we found that tooth. Schmitty full, that
disgusting tooth, and I'm just like, all right, great now,
what are we gonna do with it. We're gonna stick
it in the pillow, We're gonna put it under there.
The tooth Fairy's gonna take it and guess what she's
gonna do with it? Probably gonna throw it away. This
(27:24):
is ridiculous. Honestly, you've you've drawn the line for me.
I'd search for a retainer.
Speaker 5 (27:28):
There ain't no way I'm going booty overhead into a
trash can to find a tooth.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
Sometime, getting a fine points chef, and I'm always look
at a pack your morning with some positivity, feeling good?
Speaker 1 (27:46):
Right now? What's happening to schmitty?
Speaker 5 (27:48):
Well, my newest follow on Instagram is the sunrise Guy.
Bugsy Sailor has spent six years photographing every day's sunrise
in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
This is so cool.
Speaker 5 (28:03):
He actually sat down with CBS Sunday Morning for a
really cool segment that just aired this past weekend. Bugsy
made a New Year's resolution six years ago, can I
photograph every sunrise of twenty nineteen. He owns a really
cool souvenirs shop up in the up and has fallen
in love with the Great Lake State and wants to
(28:25):
make sure everyone else knows just how gorgeous it is. Well,
he did it every single sunrise up before five am
to make sure he finds the perfect spot overlooking Lake
Superior to grab that sunrise. But then he decided this
was so great, I'm going to continue it from Presquille
to Marquette to sugar Loaf, even the Mackanaw Bridge for
(28:48):
some other great lakes action. He has filmed them all
two thousand thirty nine sunrises. Now, unfortunately they're not all
can secutive. As he tells CBS, around his seventeen hundredth
his alarm didn't go off, but that didn't stop him,
and he says, there's just such beauty. Lake Superior is
(29:11):
his most favorite spot in the whole world.
Speaker 9 (29:13):
I'm a little biased. I think Lake Saperior is the
greatest lake in the world. Is Superior for a reason,
so massive, and I personally love the moods of Superior.
Speaker 5 (29:24):
His photographs are for sale and his tourism shop, but
it is his online following that has spiked. People adore
his prince and what he's able to capture all different settings.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
He said, it's not always easy.
Speaker 5 (29:36):
You know, November and December he's tracking out there in
negative twenty degrees. But if you are looking for maybe
a resolution that you'd like to set this year, he
promises this is an awesome one.
Speaker 9 (29:47):
I encourage everybody to do it. You don't have to
do everyone like the crazy guy here, but certainly I
think more Sunrise as makes for a better world.
Speaker 5 (29:57):
It's really cool. You've got to see his stuff at
West Michigan Star.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
Awesome and his father was at Sunrise Guy. I'll do
double check on that, all right, we'll put it out
West Michigan Star dot com. All right, SCHMIDDI, I just
want to do it real quick here. The American Red
Cross obviously encouraging people to give blood, especially this.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
Month January, if we didn't know National.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
Blood Donor month, and you hear him talking all the
time about what a shortage there is right now and
how they just need more people to donate and that
the need is so great. Well, we're, you know, knocking
on wood and fingers crossed that we're going to see
our lions in the.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
Super Bowl and you have a shot to be there.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
And oh yeah, by the way, perhaps save someone's life
by giving blood too, because they are doing a trip
for two to the super Bowl in New Orleans for
anyone who gives blood during the month of January through
January twenty six you were automatically entered to win the
trip for two you and your guests. You get the

dollars gift card to go along with it as well.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
So if you.
Speaker 3 (31:01):
Can donate blooder you can do pallettes or platelets excuse me, platelets.
You can totally donate one s every fifty six days.
When it comes to blood. You can actually do the
platelets up to every seven days, twenty four times a year,
and they badly needed. So Red Cross Blood donor app

Speaker 1 (31:21):
Set all that up.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
