Speaker 1 (00:02):
Wake up.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
It gets my day going and makes me laugh of it.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
Mac and Schmitty in the Morning on Star one on
five point seven. Good morning Smitty, Hey, Good morning Hey.
Waking up. Kind of a cool and crisp morning out.
There's temps were in the mid to upper fifties around
West Michigan to start this day out. You gotta be
a gorgeous one. I mean nothing but sunshine is basically
what we're looking at highs near eighty and then we
just gear up for ungodly heat later.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
In the week. But hey, I can't complain. Man.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
We got I think an hour and a half straight
of rain on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Oh my gosh. It's one of those Midwestern things.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Boy did we But we really needed it in Rockford
because I feel like a lot of y'all were getting
rain and we were like nothing. We were this tiny
little belt of absolute desert. So I think my grass
has gone from a dark, dark brown to like a
crispy sandy.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
So very excited about that. Yeah, one of these.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Times that we get Blake harms on here, Kirkwood or
Elan Vodka, somebody over here's got to tell us what
it is about. The ninety six that like everything above
that line north is a completely different weather patterns. Se
what's out, Yeah, that's.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
I don't know. I don't know who could know.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
We're gonna see sunshine today, guys. It's gonna be fantastic.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
And we're so happier with us movies, music, and all
the gossip in one place.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Well, this is absolute tragedy if you are a fan
of the reality star Dog the Bounty Hunter. His stepson
accidentally shot and killed his step grandson. Source to say
that Gregory Zeka, who is the son of Dog's wife Francy,
shot his thirteen year old son Anthony, in a freak
(01:46):
accident that happened at their apartment in Naples, Florida. This
happened Saturday night. Law enforcement confirms they responded to a
call around eight o'clock. They have not made any arrests.
Call this an isolated incident while the investigation is on going.
Dog and Francie, through a representative making a statement, said
we are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic
(02:07):
accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve
the loss of our beloved grandson Anthony. They are asking
for privacy at this time.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Oh it's just awful, isn't it?
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Harper Yeah thirteen.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Gwyneth Paltrow has not been a real fan of Brad
Pitt's love life post their relationship. This is all according
to a new biography that is about to come out.
Amy O'Dell is writing a book all about actress and
Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow based on interviews she says she
conducted with people close to Paltrow. As far as we know,
(02:41):
she has not talked to Gwyneth herself about this, but
in the book, Odell says Paltrow told friends she was very,
very sad following her breakup with Brad Pitt, adding that
she regularly blasted his taste in women and was exceptionally
annoyed when he decided to tie the knot with Jennifer Aniston.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Check this out.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
There is one excerpt from the book where Gwyneth was
at a business meeting back in two thousand with an
estay Lauder cosmetics person. Odell says this person told her
the two were talking about Brad Pitt, and Gwyneth said, well,
he's dumber than a sack of bleep, So I guess
I missed out on that. So far, Gwyneth has not
(03:22):
responded to any of this, neither has her representative, But
there is a lot that is going to go down
in this Anna says even more juicy excerpts will include
a look inside Gwyneth and Ben afflex alleged intimate life,
and you will get top to bottom details about the
consciously uncoupling that she went through with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
(03:43):
Gwyneth the biography drops July twenty ninth.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
It always trips me out when somebody drops these biographies
with the person still alive, still very much revelent, irrelevant,
and yet at the same time not participating at all.
It feels so weird and like raw.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
I mean, I'm sure she read, and it's like, at
this point, do you want to be the person to
say that or do you want to trust people in
your orbit? Finally, Siya looks like she may be moving
on after filing from her divorce from her second husband,
Daniel Bernard. Back in March, she was spotted with none
other than Harry Jouci. If you don't know the name,
(04:20):
you might recognize his work in the Netflix reality series
Too Hot to Handle. Yeah, the singer, songwriter and reality
star spotted leaving cod El Soul in Cali over the weekend,
holding hands very flirty. Lots of PDA didn't even hide
themselves for the paparazzi. No word from either one And
whether this is like a serious thing. I just always
(04:41):
find it so fascinating when huge stars date reality people.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
I agree. Actually, I'm having a hard time. You know what,
the show that you turned me on to on Netflix,
This is not okay with Kristin Bell.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Yeah, I'm talking about nobody wants this.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Nobody wants this. Thank you so much. I didn't I
realized there was the guy from the Hills or the
OC or whatever is starring alongside of her in that show.
Oh yeah, yeah, Brody Jenner or whatever. His name is,
Adam Brody, that's what it is.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
Well, he's from the OC, that's what I met. Yeah,
oh that's not a reality show. Yeah dude, all right,
all of your celeb scoop at West Michigan Star dot com.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
He's telling a five points. Yeah it's Mack and Schmitty.
Lookt me get your week started off on the right foot.
Yahwe feeling good right now and this is pretty cool.
Let me introduce you to a Miskegan man that's got
quite the collection, Schmidty. You know a lot of people
collect baseball cards, football cards, of course, Pokemon cards maybe
your kids do, or matchbooks coin. Its a lot of
weird stuff. I don't know anybody that collects business cards though,
(05:39):
just for fun, and either does Joey Burmeister of Muskegan.
But that's what he does. He collects business cards and
he has got quite a few of them. Let's put
it this way, seventeen binders full of business card because
that's kind of what his calling card is. It's this
conversation starter when somebody hands you a business card. And
he was really shy in high school. He told thirteen
(06:02):
on your side, that was the reason this whole thing
got started.
Speaker 5 (06:04):
Yeah, I go, I was shy when it's talk cobag
and busicaus. It helped me get out of the sht
my shells.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Yeah, out of his shell. He came with each and
every business card that came in, even asking people online
to send him some, and they would not only send
business cards, but they would send him notes to encourage
him to collect even more and keep meeting more and
more people out in the world. And his numbers are
pretty dang impressive.
Speaker 5 (06:29):
Say keep track of I mean, there are all sixteen
thousand and thirty.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Five sixteen thousand and thirty five business cards that he
has collected over the last several years. And get this,
every time he gets a duplicate, Schmidti. Every time he
gets a card, he has to go through all seventeen
binders and make sure that he doesn't already have that
business card.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Oh, I find that very calming.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Yeah, he must as well. Finds this great because he
goes through make sure there is not a single duplicate
and is over sixteen thousand cars and he's hoping to
get up to twenty five thousand. As a matter of fact,
pretty soon. Here I will actually put his address up.
If you would like to send Joey Burmeister from his
skig in a business card to help him complete his collection,
(07:11):
we'll let you do that, all right.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Let's talk about Indie. You actually met this fabulous service
dog in our radiothon last Christmas. Our facility dog alongside
Spencer slagheis the certified child life Specialist along with Indy,
who had a very very important mission a few days ago,
heading to camp Catch a Rainbow. It's for kids with
(07:33):
cancer or those in remission from cancer, and it was
such an amazing experience Helen de Os Children's Hospital posting
up some picks, including Indy actually guiding some of the kayaking.
According to Spencer, it is absolutely amazing to watch these
kids thrive while surrounded by others who have faced medical
challenges just as they have. It was a truly rewarding
(07:56):
experience watching Indie impact so many of the campers throughout
the week, from fetching a ball or a stick to
simply finding a friend to cuddle up next to. She
definitely enjoyed the full experience because every kid deserves to
go to camp and be joyful in an inclusive environment.
So you want to see Indie being her best self
at camp. I've got the pictures up for you on
(08:18):
our Instagram.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
At West Michigan, Star Moodies Music and all the gossip
in one place.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
It's the celebrities gup on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
Ooh boy, the blowback is swift, isn't it. Andy Byron,
the CEO of Astronomer who was caught in that now
viral video of him cheating at the Coldplay concert in
Boston last week.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Is unemployed.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Yes, indeed, he tendered his resignation, the company announcing it's
Saturday afternoon in a statement saying Andy Byron has tendered
his resignation. The board of Directors has accepted. The board
will begin a search for our next CEO. Meanwhile, Chief
Product Officer Pete de Joy will serve as inter CEO.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
But then they went on.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
To say, before this week, we were known as a
pioneer in the data ops space, helping data teams power
everything from modern analytics to production AI. While awareness of
our company may have changed overnight, our product and our
work for our customers have not. This is very fascinating.
Andy is out. However, we do not know about Kristin Cabot.
(09:24):
This is the chief people officer that he was caught with.
We do not know if she will be leaving the company,
if she will be fired. They did say that an
investigation is ongoing, but not sure what that looks like. Meanwhile,
ever since that video, everyone has been recreating the meme
multiple mascots, major league ballparks. We saw the Philadelphia Phillies,
(09:47):
mascots doing it on the kisscam. Even a cold Play
fan in Madison, Wisconsin, Saturday night, which was the band's
first show since that kiss cam moment, held up a
sign that read He's not my CEO, with an arrow
pointing to the guy next to her.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
I mean, we all like to see cheeters get there,
come up in Schmidti. But is there any part of
you that feels bad for these people?
Speaker 3 (10:10):
Because I have those two people know they're families. Because
now we're learning that Kristen may have actually been married.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Maybe what my question is is that you just don't
know what's going on in somebody's marriage. Maybe his wife
is cheated on him twenty times and he fell in
love with this woman. Like I just think it's insane
that this went so globally.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
Know everyone else would say, we're so happy it went
global so fast, because it's the first time we've all
been brought together in a very very long time for
all one thing. By the way, you listen next hour
in scoop, I'll tell you what cold Play has finally
had to say about this video. Katie Perry nearly falling
to the floor Friday night after her butterfly prop flying
(10:50):
her over the crowd in San Francisco malfunctioned, dropping and
then violently swinging to one side. You can actually hear
the fans scream as they realize what happened. It's right
in the middle of her song roar, so she just
(11:17):
was able to start singing. But when you watch this video,
you can see her clinging to the wings. She looks
up to see if the wires are actually going to hold,
and for a few solid five to seven seconds there,
she has no idea if she's going down. You can
see she is not the slightest but happy about it
shooting looks down to the stage to see if her
crew is obviously available to help her out. She eventually
(11:41):
touched down, not sure if this prop is going to
continue in the shows. It was a pretty terrifying video, dude.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
I thought. I mean, it looked like something tragic was
about to happen, either to Katy Perry or the crowd
below or both. I cannot believe that looks like.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
The wire snapped, like that's the best way to describe this.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
She was so close to falling off that thing.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
So you can see at West Michigan Star Dot com.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
Finally, Kelly Clarkson bringing out an exciting guest star to
her Vegas residency over the weekend.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
Her daughter.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
This is very rare.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Kelly is exceptionally private about family, but her eleven year
old River Rose came out to belt out heartbeat song
kind of perfect. The audience been pretty insane at only eleven.
(12:37):
She did a pretty phenomenal job harmonizing with her famous mom.
I'm not sure if she'll do this again, but that
crowd at the Caesar's Palace was pretty lucky.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
I've always loved that name, first celebrity Rose.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
That's really pretty.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
I've got that video with your scoop at West Michigan
Star dot com Goo.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
Good morning to you. Welcome into a just perfect Monday
around West Michigan. Got to be gorgeous, but it's the
weekend you want to talk about.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Big thing went down, talk about gorgeousness. We had the
privilege of getting out on the boat on Lake Michigan
Friday night for some sunset time. So we rode down
to the dunes and kind of packed in dinner for
the beach and then wanted to do Christ really wanted
to do some sunset fishing. We haven't done that with
the kids, and probably a couple summers.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
So we were out there. I mean, it was just stunning, guys.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
And I'm not really a fisherman. I've said that many times.
If you know me by.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Now, really raise your hand if you've competed in a
fishing competition in this room before.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
Raise your hand if you caught anything in that fishing competition.
And that's what I wanted to bring up because I
think every parent feels this way. If you've got kids,
they are either more like you or more like your partner.
And for hour two, it is a perfect split down
the middle. My son Will is me, my daughter Sophia
(13:52):
is her dad. And that was on display Friday night
because we're out on the big Lake and she caught
her first ever Samon Man. You follow me on Instagram
at Schmidt in the med.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
Are You Stronger?
Speaker 1 (14:13):
Real, Faster, Faster?
Speaker 3 (14:16):
And she got it and this thing was like pretty decent.
But then it's after we catched the thing and Chris
brings it up onto the boat for Sophia to see
her catch.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Okay, that was my elbow.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
That was my elbow. Here the finn smacked my daughter
right in the face, because I'll tell you, guys, if
you are not an expert fisherman or fisherwoman, you'll know
sometimes they stuck a little fight in him. So he's
got it up in the little fishholder. That's not what
it's called, but I have no idea what it is called.
(14:54):
And all of a sudden, Sophia walks up to it
bam right.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
In the face.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
And I'm sitting there like I'm not going near it.
I don't fish, I don't like fish. I brought a
beach chair to sit on the front of the boat
and read my book and have my wine.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Happy to spectate.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
And this girl slapped in the face with a salmon fin.
And she's still all about it, like you've got to
see the picture. She is beaming with pride, and I
just in that moment. Meanwhile, Will is backed all the
way to the end of the boat like I It's like,
I don't know, that's pretty big the wingspan on that thing.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
And I thought, this is it.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
I mean, my son is me, my daughter is her dad,
and it's like every single thing we do, you can
see that.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
It's hilarious.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
Honestly, I think I knew that the moment that I
saw your children's hair.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
Yeah, it kind of falls in line with the hair.
It kind of dad's brow.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
Your son's got that story.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Like your kids do. They fall in line all the time.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
By and large, my daughter is very much my wife.
And I don't mean this in like boy girl ways.
I mean it is in she is shy like my
wife at first, but then open up and is miss
chatty Cathy afterwards. And my son is mister I can't
shut up. I always want to tell a sarcastic joke.
I'm always pushing buttons and that is so me as
a ten year old too.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
See that's interesting because I the social aspect, I think,
is the only one where neither one of my kids
are Chris.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
They are both me.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
They both they want to be on radio, TV, in
front of the camera, funny talking meat random strangers. Like
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to have like the
trafficking conversation with Sophia before she's done. Like we can't
just go off to strangers and just say hello, what
would you like to do?
Speaker 6 (16:33):
Right?
Speaker 3 (16:34):
Seven six one six four five eight one oh five seven.
I would love to hear a good story how it
showed your kids were like you or your kids.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Are like your partner.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
Give us a call or drop that talk back inside
her free iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
Here are the facts. But human torch was denied at Banklodine. Good,
all right, let's kick out this week's most useless headlines.
This stuff you're going to click on at work anyway,
kick us off, middy.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
All right, I told you these might hurt feelings. An
MIT study finds second borns are the biggest cause of chaos,
both at home and in society as a whole.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
It's like that they run society into it. Ad bye,
all right. Women arrested for allegedly seducing in blackmailing Buddhist monks. Yeah, ty,
police arrested a woman who actually tried to black bail
nine abbots in senior monks who had had affairs with
the woman. Yeah, you know what those Some women like
a challenge, minty ad bite.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
A new study says, forget swiping, you should go shopping.
You are more likely to find a husband at Costco
than you are on bumble. And honestly, if I found
a man at only shopped at Costco, that is a
green flank.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Adbine microshoft announces deal to purchase four point nine million
metric tons of human waste. Yes, this deal stinks almost
as much as having to listen to the conspiracy theories
about what Bill Gates wants to do with our boode.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
Finally, a study finding female frogs actually fake their own
death to avoid mating with males they don't find attractive.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
I've seen that happen and also humans too.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
Reported person stuck in California, Canal turns out to be
personal blow up down.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
Yeah, you know what, face gives it away.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
One person's trash is another person's soul mate. Mate, you
never know. As this week's headlines, you see any ridiculous
ones out there, you can always send them to us
at SWST Michigan, Star on Facebook.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
Movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
It's the Celebrity Scoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
Well, last hour I had the update on astronomer CEO
Andy Byron, who is now officially out at the company,
tendering his resignation following that viral video from the cold
Play show in Boston last week where the jumbo tron
caught him and his chief people officer cheating on their spouses.
Speaker 5 (19:05):
Well.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
Now, coldplayfront man Chris Martin has figured issuing of warning
to fans before the concert may be helpful. They were
in Madison, Wisconsin Saturday night, the first show since that
viral video.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
We'd like to say hello to some of you in
the crowd.
Speaker 7 (19:22):
Were going to do that, guys who're going to use
our nubras put some of you on the big screen.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
Yeah, a ton of laughter about that, but it grisben like, listen,
we don't know who you are and we don't know
what you're doing, So check your makeup. Make sure the
person you're with is who you're supposed to be with
because you're going to be on the camera. Really funny stuff.
We saw a bunch of people taking full advantage of
this over the weekend. Major League ballparks had their mascots
recreating it. There were fans at the Coldplay show. One
(19:51):
in particular, I mentioned, brought a giant poster that had
an arrow pointing next to the guy she was with
and it just read He's not my CEO. It's just
absolutely viral. Still, I will tell you, Also, I know
a ton of people saw this TikTok over the weekend.
Myself included that was not Andy Byron's daughter. There was
a girl who simply wrote reconnecting with life after your
(20:13):
dad's affair goes worldwide. He doesn't have a daughter, so
that was just somebody taking advantage of it for some clout.
And we have still heard nothing about that Chief People
Officer Kristin Cabot and what she might be facing at.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
Work between that. In the fake statement that was put
out that looked legit.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
At first test, I.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
Literally cannot believe anything you see anymore.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
There was a press statement that came from the company,
and that is that's it. That's all that has been
officially verified as of now. Taylor Swift attending her bff
Selena Gomez's thirty third birthday party alongside Selena's fiance Benny
Blanco over the weekend. This was massive and Selena Honey
(20:55):
looks good talking to fans, Selena writing, is I prepared
to celebrate my thirty third birthday? I can't help but
reflect on the incredible journey that has brought me here.
This past year has truly been the most beautiful year
of my life, and I owe so much of that
to all of you. No word on the other guests
that looked like a roof top shindig downtown LA. She
(21:16):
did share quite a few pictures with Benny Ann Taylor.
Does not look like Jason Kelce was there. That's typical.
NFL players reported this weekend for training camp.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
You know, Benny Blanco just living his luckiest man in
the universe life, right caaculus fun.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
Finally, it was a big weekend in golf and another
than Scottie Scheffler, the world's number one, claiming his fourth
major victory, second of just this year. Yesterday, he emerged
victorious at Royal Port Rush with a four shot lead,
but it was his one year old son Bennett that
stole the show. It's become a customary sight the twenty
(21:54):
nine year old's family, his wife Meredith and their one
year old son Bennett, rushing to greet him on the
eighteenth green to congrat agulate the star on his triumph.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
But you know, it's tough being one when you're just
learning to walk.
Speaker 7 (22:05):
Then it is on the loose, Harry comes. No, it's
not easy of those slopes. First time learner right there.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
Yeah, it's real, sweet Ben.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
It took quite a spill running to dad up the
green and then the audience. At the end there was
Scotty actually running to him, picking him up and taking
a real cue picture next to his brand new hardware.
Got to assume then it's going to be grown up
next to quite a bit of golf hardware from dad.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
I mean, what a what a tournament for him? But yeah,
I mean, toddler's already run around like drunken people.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
This is given a toddler, he's what like, he's a
barely out bear. The video is super cute, you guys.
It's up with your scoop at West Michigan Star dot com.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
Good morning's here. It's back and Smitty and it is
time to battle Battle of the Sexes. And we're landing
you all this week over in our Frederick Meyer Gardens
for one of their awesome summer concerts.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
So this is next Thursday night and evening with the
Australian Pink Floyd Show. You have today's number one answer.
We are going to send you to experience that one
hundred men surveyed names something an athlete might break.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
I mean it's not on here obviously, but the first
thing I thought of was Shaquille O'Neal breaking all of
those backboards. There's like a compilation video of show grabbing
on to slam dunk on whims in every one of
those backboards, just.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
Show I was thinking body parts. So that's the difference
between I guess a mom and a dad. Yeah six
one six, four five eight one o five seven collar seven.
One hundred men surveyed name something an athlete might break?
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Good morning star, who's this?
Speaker 2 (23:43):
I think my name is Ima, Emma.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
Let's see we can get you into the Australian Pink
Floyd Show. You gotta tell me, Emma. When one hundred
men were asked name something an athlete might break, what
was their top handswer?
Speaker 4 (23:55):
Is it a phone?
Speaker 1 (23:57):
A bone? Yeah? Yeah, I mean athletes breaking bones tails
old as time. But that's the number three most common answer.
I'm sorry, thank you, Hi star. Who's this dark? See?
Emma just gave me a guest. Name something an athlete
might break. One hundred men were asked that question. She
(24:18):
set a bone or a body part, and that was
the number three most common answer, but not the top one.
What do you think it is, Darcy? A record breaking?
A record? Yeah, record would be a great thing to
be breaking, but that's the number two most common answer.
I'm sorry, Darcy, thank you, thank you, Hi Star. Who's
this Dona? Where are you calling from today? All right,
(24:41):
let's see here. I've got a couple of good guesses,
but not the top answer. What one hundred guys were
asked to name something an athlete might break. I've heard
a bone or a body part? That was the number
three most common answer. And I just heard a record. Yeah,
setting a new records a good thing, But that was
the number two most common answer. So, Donna, you got
a chance here? What do you think that time? Answer
might be part hearts like equipment? You no like heart?
Speaker 6 (25:07):
Break hearts?
Speaker 1 (25:07):
Oh, an athlete breaking hard. So that's a great guess.
You're thinking outside of the box a little bit. But no,
that's not on there. I'm sorry, thank you, bye bye,
high star, high star. Who's this, Rhonda. I've gotten great guesses,
but not the top answer yet with a hundred guys.
Whereas the name something an athlete might break, it's not
(25:27):
a bone or a body part, it's not a record,
and it is not heart. They might be out there
breaking their fans hearts, but not on this list here.
So what do you think that top answer was there.
Oh shoot, those are my answer. Those were all good things.
I can tell you what. You know, it's something that
they might break while playing the sport that they like
(25:49):
or game. I guess too. Oh you know, it's actually
the thing that the players and athletes break most often.
You're always getting whistles called for foul or off sides
or roughie or whatever it is, and it's always going
against the lions. I know that to be true. But
rules is the top answer way to go. Congratulations, you're
(26:12):
gonna go over to our Frederick Meyer Gardens and check
out the Australian Ping Floyd show coming up next week.
Speaker 4 (26:17):
Oh that's cool, Thank.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
You, We're so welcome. We're doing it all week long
too with Battle of the Sexes eight fifteen. Right here
on startweel five point seven. Good morning's here, it's Mike
and SCHMITTI walcome into this new week. And you know,
a party location, a party venue can really set the
tone for what you're doing, right, And I like it
when people think outside of the box. My wife and
(26:39):
daughter this week in Schmitty went to a graduation party
at a goat farm.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Oh yeah, that's very big.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
Yeah, they went to this goat farm. There's cows basically
like a whole patting zoo, and they do goat yoga
there and all this stuff. And her cousin's daughter had
a graduation party there, and I thought, man, that's such
a cool idea.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
Right, she's probably done a ton throughout like her childhood
there and it was like very very nostalgic, fir.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
I don't know either way. I think it's just cool
for your guests, right, doing something different. I'm not just
gonna sit in your backyard and hang out for the
graduation party like everybody else's. It's a little something different.
I think that's incredible. What is the weirdest venue you
have ever been invited to for a party or an event?
Because schmiddy, I was just invited to an underwater wedding. Okay,
(27:25):
my friend Scott is grew up well, he didn't grow
up there. He spent a big portion of his life
at Hawaii, and I was actually a groomsman in his
first wedding before he went off into the Air Force.
That he moved out to Hawaii and now he's back
in the mainland. But he met his wife there and
their favorite thing to do was snorkel and scuba dive.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
As soon as you said that, I went, I bet
this is Hawaiian.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
Yes, yeah, But guess what, They're not doing this in Hawaii.
This underwater wedding is taking place in Kansas. Uh inland Lake,
no sharks.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
I like that even better.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Well, and they live in Kansas.
Speaker 8 (27:58):
Now.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
They're both nurses, so that the same they're doing. But
because that was such a part of their sort of
you know, love story, origin story, if you will. It's
not full on scuba that they're talking about here. It
is literally you're only going down like twelve feet, I guess,
and you wear those like helmets that just go over
top and you can hear everybody. So the entire bridal
(28:19):
party has been asked to go down with them. Oh wow,
go down under the water. And I've already he's already
told me that some people have already said no, because
they're going to actually have this whole thing on a
monitor up on shore twos for the people who don't
want to do it under water. But I couldn't even
wrap my head around, like when did you guys just say,
you know where we want to be wed forever? Under
(28:41):
the water.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
I think it'd be so cool. I'm curious how much
that costs.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
I don't know. I known, And if you have.
Speaker 3 (28:47):
To get like sir, I assure you have to get
certified things like that.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
That was why they went with the helmet things, because
you did not have to become scuba certified to use that.
And I guess it's this like crystal clear lake there
or whatever that has beautiful fish all this stuff, but
an underwater wedding.
Speaker 3 (29:03):
I think it's the coolest thing I've ever heard. How
lucky are you that you get to do something really
cool like that?
Speaker 5 (29:07):
So too?
Speaker 1 (29:08):
I mean, I just want to see the photos. Underwater
photos are going to be gorgeous. What do you wear
as a bride dough for a dress?
Speaker 2 (29:15):
I don't think you wear a dress.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
It's a white bathing suit, but like some frills, maybe
a mermaid.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
You've never been on Pinterest.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
Seven hours here in the today, just a little bit brighter,
feeling good right now? What's happening? Well?
Speaker 3 (29:28):
We know Mary free Bed as an absolutely phenomenal cutting
a cutting edge place for rehabilitation, but typically we think
of that for people, not flamingos until now meat and
these the most unexpected rehab story in Grand Rapids. So
the fourteen year old Chilean flamingo live in his best
(29:50):
pool side life at.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
The John Ball Zoo.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
When he developed a curious limp, that's when experts at
john Ball Zoo trying to figure out a way to
help him. This is doctor Ryan, he is John Ball
Zoo's Director of Animal Health and well Being.
Speaker 8 (30:05):
He had an injury and it could have been something
as simple as a slip that happened in and out
of the pool, but over time that deteriorated to the
point where he was losing the support of the ligament
to that limb. So at the zoo, we really want
to make sure that the animals are getting the best
possible care and sometimes that means reaching out to all
sorts of partners that can be partners in specialty fields
(30:28):
of veterinary medicine, but also specialty fields and human medicine
like we're doing.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
Here, and that was human medicine Enter Britney weeks from
Mary free Bed. As it turns out, custom orthotics are
not just for humans. From joint stabilization to Velcrow preferences,
it has been a true collaboration and even for Brittany
it's a little nerve wracking.
Speaker 6 (30:52):
This is the first flamingos is the first exotic animal.
I'm actually a little bit terrified the birds, so it
was a interesting knowing that during the process he was
going to be fully away alas got me.
Speaker 3 (31:06):
Oh it's so cute, And now he is back to
flamingling in style. Thanks to specialists at the zoo and
Mary free Bed teaming up, Andy's is achieving new and
major milestones. I do have to give a big shout
out to Mary free Bed. In their hashtag Flamingles, there
(31:26):
were a lot of fun mingles. Oh it's so good
and it's so cool. I'll post it up at West
Michigan Star.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
All right. I got a shout out of Michigan pizza
delivery driver who also happens to be a lifesaver, Amir Ali.
He's a Jet's pizza delivery driver over and Warren on
the East Side and he had an order for an
elderly woman and nobody answered the door despite the lights
being on. There was a dog market on the inside,
so he called the number on the order right see
if they would come to the door. Well, he spoke
(31:54):
with Danielle Ratliff, who had actually ordered the pizza for
her mom, who is the woman living there. So after
Amir explained the situation, he looked through a window saw
the woman lying on the floor, and that immediately, of
course sent him call nine to one one. So after
making sure she received medical attention, he went back to
her house to check on her dog. This is the
(32:16):
part that I love so much. While he was there,
not only does he check on her dog, this is
a stranger, mind you, he noticed she left behind some
personal belongings. So the pizza delivery driver gathers her personal
belongings and brings them to her at the hospital. The
neighbor right there, Megan Rose, praising the delivery driver on
WXYZ over Detroit, describing him as kind and a wonderful
(32:38):
person and at this point also somebody who saved a life.
Speaker 6 (32:40):
If it wasn't for him, we don't know what could
have happened.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
He saved her, honestly, just really cool. The woman's daughter, Danielle,
calling Ali a real life angel. Mom's doing well, making
a recovery in the hospital. Pretty cool, feeling good. Always
wants to share something great going on out there. We'll
do it again. For You Tomorrow, six forty five and
nine twenty every week on Star Mack and Schmidty in
the morning weekday, starting at six am on Star one
