Speaker 1 (00:02):
Wake up.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
It gets my day going. It makes me laugh.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
Out of it. Mac and Schmidty in the morning on
Star one on five point seven, we go to Schmidty, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Good morning, Welcome into June.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
Crazy every month, right, like every month we get no.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
These ones get me more.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
I think, like, because summer goes so fast, So get
ready because it is June second, and then you're gonna blink,
maybe go to sleep for a night.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
And it's going to be August twenty second.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
I just I feel like I've gotta say it so
everyone can savor the moments.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Well half of West Michigan, is it right? I mean,
there's only a few schools going today and it's gonna
be fantastic.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
I only say that, guys because over the weekend I
was going over our summer schedule with my husband and
it's like we have two weeks where we have nothing
the entire summer camps or trips or plans with family.
Like it is wild and that's fantastic. But just whoo,
take a breath and slow it down to savor it.
(01:06):
That's all I'm bringing up because this time just absolutely rolls.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
It really does. It rushes by and and that includes
this final week of school here for the other half
of the others, right, yeah, yeah, we had those going.
I know that. I'm looking at June and saying we
turned the switch many because we definitely had some fifties
and some sixties and hanging out stuff obviously in May,
like you're always gonna do. I'm not going to the
ten day forecast. There's nothing but seventies and eighties temps,
(01:31):
I know.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
And shout out to everybody that planted early and had
frost over the weekend. I had a friend of mine.
Yeah yeah, really, oh yeah, yea, yah, yeah yeah yeah.
So to those of you that were doing everything you
could to save the garden. Surprisingly, yes, the good news
is we are finally looking at that warm up, which
is beautiful because we are gonna have so much fun
this summer.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven,
and I.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Was pretty bummed about this.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
Actress Loretta Switt, best known for playing Margaret hot Lips,
who Lahan on the long running smash sitcom Mash, passed away.
The news coming out late on Friday from Swiss publicist
who was very shocked by the news. The two had
actually spoken Thursday night. Loretta seemed great, but according to
her publicist, she died Friday inside her New York City apartment.
(02:27):
Her body was found by the maid. She was pronounced
dead in the afternoon. No cause of death has been confirmed,
but they believe she died from natural causes. The ten
time Emmy nominee, winning twice for her work on the show,
also went on to do appearances on Hawaii five Oh Murder.
She wrote in tons of other shows, Loretta was eighty seven.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Oh man, what a career, though, I mean the iconic
character on an iconic show.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
My parents loved Mash, so I know it was like
far before my time, but my parents loved Mesh and
I remember hot Lips Hulahan. It was so sad to
see that rapper fifty cent is planning a visit to
the Oval Office to have a little chat with President
Trump about Ditty, telling fans he plans to share his
raw thoughts. So a flurry of social media posts went
(03:16):
up over the weekend after hearing from the President in
a recent interview that he may consider pardoning Ditty if
the mogul is convicted on the slew of charges he's facing.
In the first fifty road that Ditty had some really
bad things to say about Trump. I'm going to reach
out so that he knows how I really feel about
this guy. While other things he said were I didn't
(03:38):
say that I would necessarily tell him not to pardon him,
but I will tell him what he has said, what
he has done, the problems that I've had with him.
He said that he is going to be very honest.
And as we know, fifty has been not a fan
of Ditty for many, many many years. He has trolled
him online even before all of these allegations came to court.
(03:58):
Not sure when this meeting quote unquote is going to
go down, but fifty says he wants it sooner rather
than later.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
We live in the strangest timeline. Schmidti, on that being said,
while fifties there, as long as we're on this, do
you think maybe he can talk to President Trump about
the Krizzlies. See if we can undo? Yeah, people, you
shouldn't be famous.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
And they are finally and officially married and felt quarterback
Josh Allen and actress and singer Hailey Steinfeld officially tied
the knot over the weekend. A beautiful ceremony in California. Now,
we did get some pictures that were caught from a
bird's eye view. Looked very very beautiful. Not many details
about the ceremony are out, but her gown was gorgeous.
(04:40):
The two we're very very happy. There is one picture
where you can actually see Josh crying. It was really
really nice. As for celebrities on hand, not much about
the guest list, but we do know, strangely enough, Larry
David was there day. I'm not sure who's best friends
with Larry David, but that does kind of sound like
a fun person to have at your wedding. I got
those pictures up for you with your scoop at West.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Michigan Star Dotcom telling a five point seven at Smack
and Schmitty're gonna get your week off to a great start.
Feeling good right now and as a lover of a
good lobster role, I'm not sure how to feel about
this story, but there was an ultra rare gold colored
lobster Schmitty that was just rescued from becoming part of
an all you can eat New England seafood buffet. That's right,
(05:24):
this gold colored lobster apparently incredibly rare. You may have
even seen blue colored lobsters before, which are about one
in two million. How about one in thirty million was
this gold lobster? And so the people at the Nordic
Restaurant in Charlestown on May twenty seventh actually contacted the
Biomes Marine Biology Center in North Kingston, Rhode Islands, and
(05:47):
when they found out about this, they said, absolutely so
this thing actually got donated to this aquarium. Now it
will live out the remainder of its days impressing school
children in a tank instead of being cooked in oil
and pot of water.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
SMITTI, good for you, all right, this was such an
incredible moment. Last week, six year old Laura Li Howard
surprised by the one person she didn't think would make
it to her kindergarten graduation.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
That's her dad.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Staff Sergeant Darius Howard has been deployed in the Middle
East for almost a year, but thanks to some helpful
hands and some very good secret keepers, he was able
to make it home in time, telling ABC it was
near impossible to not give the surprise away.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
She has no idea. I'm here and it's been super
hard for me to be able to not run across
town and say Daddy's here and be able to scoop
her up and hold her.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
So Laura Lai, who has no idea dad's home, gets
presented on stage with a video.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
I am super excited.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
I'm so thank youre and able to accomplish anything that
you do. That's when the special moment happens. Right before
she's about to cross the stage, who comes from behind
the curtain, But Dad.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
It's been a long time then.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
Oh, just the sweetest video, Just one of those amazing
family members from the military coming home.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
You can see her run across the stage.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
I've got the video for you West Michigan Star dot
com because guys, it never gets old watching those.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Well, it was Netflix's biggest night of the year over
the weekend, the Big Totem twenty twenty five live event
at the Kia Forum in La Saturday night. This is
a fan first event. They've got big moments, entertainment moments,
they've got upcoming projects. You get your first sneak peek
at and the star power was unbelievable. Carrie Washington, Ben Affleck,
(07:47):
Matt Damon, Adam Sandler, Daniel Craig, Josh Brolin, me Lacunis
the cast of Stranger Things, but by far one of
the biggest moments of the night Lady Gaga and Jenna
Ortega con affirming the news that Gaga will cameo on
the new season of Wednesday. And this is how she
did it, shutting herself into a coffin that says here
(08:28):
lies Gaga. We knew that this was rumored, but finally confirmed.
Netflix dropped the first six minutes of the new Wednesday
premiere and it will include Gaga. Part one of the
hit series will air August sixth, while part two follows
on September third. But there was a ton that we
got to see over the weekend, including the new trailer
(08:50):
for the Knives Out movie.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Everyone's really excited about.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
I love those movies that they've done so far.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
With them for sure puns.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
Miley Cyrus is speaking about her ever evil relationship concerning
her parents, revealing she has reconnected with dad Billy Ray
Cyrus after years of estrangement. Smiley sitting down with The
New York Times, saying she is now approaching her family's
past with a more mature perspective, saying, as I've gotten older,
(09:16):
I'm respecting my parents as individuals instead of as parents,
because my mom really loved my dad for her whole life,
and I think being married to someone in the music
industry and then not being a part of it is
obviously really hard. She says she did take on some
of her mom's hurt as her own because it hurt
her more than it hurt me as an adult, and
I owned a lot of her pain. But now that
(09:38):
both of her parents have found new love, of course
Tish with Dominic Purcell and Billy Ray with actress Elizabeth Hurley,
she feels she can support her parents separately. She says,
I completely adore my stepdad, and now that I see
my dad finding happiness too, I love them both as
individuals instead of as a parental pairing.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
So it seems like a very hell say perspective for Miley.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
I was going to say, it's the age of perspective
that I feel like maybe she's into right now.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
And if you are a Disney Plus and Hulu subscriber,
get ready. The streaming giant planning to launch a new
perks program that will offer subscribers discounts, digital freebies and
automatically enter them in sweep steaks in an effort to
get more subscribers. So this is now available in the US,
with an international rollout planned later this year. Offers include
(10:27):
a six month dash Pash dash Path membership from DoorDash,
discounted stays at Walt Disney World, and savings when you
shop from Adidas or Funko. There's going to be a
ton of rotating prizes. Microsoft, Pure Green, and LG All
plan to join in on this, with deals dropping over
the summer. This kicks off today, so I think it'll
(10:50):
be really interesting to see how this works.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Yeah, I'm initially very skeptical. It's like, oh sweet, thanks
for giving me coupons as you continue to raise my
prices every few months.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
Well, Hulu subscribers do get the chance at winning actual
gear from shows for free. I know one of the
first things are costuming from The Handmaid's Tale following that
series finale. So if you're looking for an early Halloween
costs go all right, all of your scoop at West
Michigan Start Dot.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Com good morning to you. Welcome into a new week
and potentially welcome into summer vacation. If not yet, it
will be soon for sure. And she's beending seventy of
whose kids are wrapping up summer. You just made my
ears perk up when you said you had a great
idea for it.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
Yep, take one of your kids out.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
What do you mean, like, this is incredible? So summer.
Oh geez gosh, if you're not listening. So my daughter
is on summer break. My kids have different school schedules
being at different school, so she finished on Friday, and
then my son still has a week left of school
this week, and so my mother in law said, well,
why don't I take her because usually she comes and
(11:54):
helps us out.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
At the beginning of the week.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
Yeah, she goes, why don't I take her with me
back home for a few days she can have like
camp rama.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Oh man, I love kim grandma.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
So we've never that's never happened for us. Okay, she
will take both kids occasionally, but it's a very rare
kind of thing and really took until they were a
little bit older. So we have not had just one
kid in four years and Sophia is out of the
house until Tuesday until tomorrow, and all of this sudden
(12:24):
this weekend turned into only kid weekend for Will and
it was the coolest thing ever. And some of you
are going to listen and think that that sounds really mean,
because at first my husband felt really bad. He goes,
I don't think we should continue making this sound so cool,
because I mean, well said, you don't want to be
You don't want to feel bad or make that person
you know, you want to make Sophia feel bad. I
(12:44):
said no, but I do think it's okay to acknowledge that,
you know, Will puts a lot of effort into making
sure little sister is included, and there's things that we
can't do as a foursome because she's just not old
enough yet, or fast enough yet, or strong enough yet.
She'll get there, we're not there yet. So we got
to do all of these things that normally wouldn't happen
when Sophia was there, and it was so much fun
(13:06):
for all of us. And I wanted to give you
my top three things, and if you have the opportunity,
I think a lot of parents attempt to do that,
depending on how many kids. You have to try and
give one on one time with each kid, which in
and of itself is hard, but both parents giving one
on one time, it's impossible. Like we've been doing that
for a while. I'll go do something with Will, Christy,
(13:27):
go do something with Sophia, but the other person has
to be there for the other kid. So I had
the greatest time. And here's what we did. First, we
went out to eat at Will's favorite place and we
got to sit outside because most of the patios are
three chaared tables.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
You don't realize it. Oh, you have to.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Pull chairs a lot of times there's maybe a two
chair table. And I grew up with a family of six, y'all.
We had to make reservations no matter where we went
because a booth doesn't fit you. So we went and
we had dinner at one of his favorite spots in
Rockford on the patio and we just walked in and
sat down and he was like, wow, this is pretty cool. Next,
(14:09):
we started watching the Marvel movies with him. He's been
really interested in the air. I yeah, so we decided
to watch in timeline order.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
Oh that's a cool way of doing it all. It is.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
It's really fun. But Saturday night we wrapped up one
movie and he goes.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Do you think we could watch a second movie? I said,
you know what, buddy, we can.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
You know what you're making his resentment towards his own
sister CrowI stuff because the.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
Marvel movies on the right, Marvel movies been the most
aren't really appropriate for Sophia but for Will. So he
got to stay up super late Saturday night watching back
to back Marvel movies. And then yesterday probably the greatest
top ten days for me, we took him on a
bike ride ten miles on the White Pine Trail, which
(14:55):
we just can't do with Sophia right now because she's
still in training wheels. And again, I don't mean for
this to sound like I don't love my daughter, but
it was so cool to give Will these experiences every
once in a while, and we'll do it with Sophia.
I'm sure will have time when he's at Graham on
Grandpa's and then we'll do things that Will might think
are lame or boring that Sophia loves because she's younger.
(15:15):
But oh my gosh, you guys, if you have the chance,
and I know it's so hard, with work, with figuring
out camps, with childcare, but if you can find time
to separate each one of your kids with both parents.
He literally all weekend just kept saying, only kid weekend. Ooh,
only kid weekend. He's gonna miss his sister. He'll be
excited she's back tomorrow. But there were so many insane
(15:36):
milestone memories. I felt like we made this weekend, that
it was so worth it.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
That's awesome, Honestly, Schmitte. As a parent, I have watched
my kids go through very similar circumstances over and over again,
and there is nothing they like more than that individual attention,
except for rubbing it in the other one's face. When
it's all said and done. You know what we did
over the weekend? You know what we did over the weekend?
Like it is they they relish in that opportunity. Oh,
(16:00):
Dad and I and mom we went out to Taco Jokunado.
What did you do? Where were you at?
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Like I gotta tell you help themselves.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
Will is a unicorn. He's a very rare cherub. He's
not going to do that at all, Like, not even
a little bit.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
Because it was.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
So sweet when Sophia was leaving Saturday morning with my
mother in law. He gave her a big hug and
he goes, Sofia, don't worry. We're just gonna do big
kid stuff that you think is boring.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Yeah, that's he's so sweet.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
Like, I'm not concerned about that yet at least, But
I just thought it was such a perfect perspective for
this start of summer. Like, if you're able to do
these things, you know, and I get it. Though, if
you've got a bunch of kids just keeping pants on them,
that's also a win.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
I was gonna say that you and I both families
have six like it all too well. Just knowing where
each kid is is a win.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Yeah, the human torch was denied at bankload.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
This is not important information, but it's the stuff we're
looking at while we're supposed to be working. Give us
this week's first.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
The recover every time on this is insane. I'm sure
an Australian woman does over seven thousand pull ups in
twenty four hours to break the Guinness World Record. Her
name's Olivia Vincent. And I got to tell you, coming
from a girl who faked knee injury to get out
of track, there's just no way for me, good bye.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
Spent a drunk Turkish Man spends hours with search party
looking for himself. Oh yeah, yeah, he wandered in the woods,
wandered in the woods, drunk, trying to find himself in Turkey,
stumbled upon his own search party, and after quite some time,
realized they were looking for him, as they wouldn't stop
calling his name. You know what, I've wandered into the
(17:41):
woods looking for myself too. I haven't had help doing
it very often.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
Well that's perfect, because these lost hikers in New York
called police to report a friend's death, only for the
police to discover they were on mushrooms and the friend
was perfectly fine. They were in New York's Adirondag. Police investated,
found the friend, who they then escorted back to the
campsite perfectly healthy.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
Oh man, that's a relief TEA British Airways cabin crew
member arrested naked dancing. Yeah, that's right. A British Airways
cabin crew member was discovered dancing naked in the business
class bathroom during a flight from San Francisco to London.
This was only about forty five minutes after takeoff that
they went to look for this flight attendant found them
(18:28):
dancing naked in the bathroom. Sounds like somebody got into
that many cards.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Did you hear what she said? No disco for one.
Confident and boy, I'll get to my airport story. Offici'll
say a two year old is fine after a luggage
conveyor belt joy ride. This is at the Newark Airport.
Official'll say the two year old was able to slip
past a Jet Blue ticketing counter to access the conveyor
(18:56):
belt luggage system, got all the way down to the
lower level and was about to go through the X
ray scanner before PORD authority was able to locate him.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
So basically, you're saying, this kid got to live the
dream that we've all had. Schmiddy, come on the.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
Toy Story dream. Remember that Toy Story two scene?
Speaker 1 (19:12):
Abbie all right, finally pregnant news anchor stays on air
after her water breaks. Yes, CBS six is Alby's Olivia
jack Heath told viewers, I'll stay on the desk for
as long as I possibly can, but if I disappear,
that's what's going on. I'm sure the audience was impressed
and also collectively went ew oh as This week saidlines,
(19:36):
it's any great ones out there always Sinnamarway all right,
hit us up at West Michigan.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
Star, Sneedy's music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Well, it was a celebratory weekend for Taylor Swift, announcing
to fans on Friday afternoon she has officially bought back
her entire music catalog after finalizing a deal with Shamrock Capital.
It comes after years of battling to reclaim her original masters,
which were first sold to Scooter Braun in twenty nineteen,
(20:13):
then later sold to this shamrock company. In a detailed
letter to fans, she just felt so incredibly thankful, and
to celebrate Friday night, she hung out with best friend
and longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff in the kitchen, jamming to
none other than get Away Car.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
I'm gonna get a week.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
With the money in a bag, install the keys.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
That was the last time we had, oh so excited
about it. Saturday night, she was in New York celebrating
Round two with dinner out with Selena Gomez, who was
super excited for her bestie Online cannot wait to see
what comes next.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
Okay, I have here Swifty, who are all conspiracy nuts?
All right, here's mine for you. Was it in exactly
six albums that she that they owned the thing up?
I'm pretty sure that's what it was. And I say
this because reptv A Reputation was the last one. That's
the sixth one, which means Taylor Swift pulled the most
(21:18):
amount of money out of her fans and the world
as she could before buying back her masters. For the
rest of them.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
That wouldn't shock me whatsoever. We've always so good.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
She's the greatest business woman I have ever heard of.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
All Right.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Kelly Stafford, the thirty six year old wife of NFL
star and former detroit lyon Matthew Stafford, not shying away
about her mommy makeover.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
She sat down on the episode.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
Of her podcast the Morning After sharing every procedure she
has gotten done, talking about her incredible plastic surgeon, doctor Fisher.
She says first visited him one year after the birth
of her fourth daughter. She said, listen, I had my
chest redone, I did a tummy tuck, put my abs
back together, noting that her opinion really changed when she
(22:05):
realized how much better she felt, saying I felt great,
I felt confident. There's nothing wrong with this kind of
mommy makeover. In fact, all she had to say to
other moms was don't wait. You want to kind of
do it when you still have that urge to feel sexy.
These women as I felt. You have a kid, you've
had multiple children, you haven't really felt like yourself since
(22:26):
before you had kids, And there it is. It's like,
I'm done having kids. Let me go get set, let
me go start feeling like myself. And that is exactly
what this does. And there's nothing wrong with that.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
Is she convincing others or convincing herself? That sound a
little bit of like the latter.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
Finally, Paul Rudd, the incredible actor, comedian, all around gorgeous human,
showed off his serious running skills over the weekend at
the Kansas City Royals game, sprinting in the.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
Hot dog race dressed as Ketchup.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
Is that Ketchup? Or is that aunt man?
Speaker 5 (22:59):
I running?
Speaker 1 (23:00):
I think it's a man and he's got a great
crawl going. He got him pretty good speed considering he
wasn't using his arms at all. Yeah, the all run
wins the hot Dog Derby.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
It was such great video, and the fact that he
is sweating profusely and beaming as he's dressed like ketchup
crossing the finish line is really something to see. I've
got the video with your Scoop at West Michigan Star doc.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Op Man Love the sex is look at Me, Get
You and the kiddo's out for some funge Minny.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
It's Kids Bop Live the Certified Bop Tours. You know
this is the best one oh and going down. August
twenty eighth at Devas Performance Hall. Today's number one answer
is going to score you tickets. One hundred women surveyed
complete the sentence I can't stand my blank.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
If the answer is an outfit, I'm going to be
just completely beside myself.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
I don't even know what my number one answer would be.
Six one, six, four, five, eight, what oh?
Speaker 1 (23:53):
Five?
Speaker 2 (23:53):
Seven?
Speaker 3 (23:54):
One hundred women surveyed complete the sentence I can't stand
my blink and star?
Speaker 1 (24:00):
Who's this? You said? Stephanie Audrey, Audrey, Audrey, where are
you calling from today? All right? Audrey? One hundred women
were asked to complete this sentence. I can't stand my lank.
What do you think their top answer was there, Audrey,
I can't stand my job. Thankfully, while I'm sure everybody
(24:22):
feels that way some days, that's not on the list
of top answers. I'm sorry, Audrey, Thank you, Hi star.
Who's this Lydia, Lydia, I just got a great guest
from Audrey. One hundred women were asked to complete this sentence,
I can't stand my blank and she said job, And yeah,
there's definitely days we all feel that way, but job
(24:42):
was not on the list. So what do you think
that top answer was, Lydia, your spouse? I can't stand
my spouse. Yes, once again added to the list of
things that definitely we think from time to time, but
that one's not on there either. Thanks Lydia, thank you,
Hi Star. Who's this? Oh? This is Julie. I've gotten
(25:03):
some good guesses, but not the top answer yet. One
hundred women were asked to complete this sentence, I can't
stand my blank and so far I heard job and spouse.
Neither of those, though, were the top answer, but we
all feel that way sometimes. However, what do you think
the top one is, Julie?
Speaker 3 (25:20):
Oh my goodness, Okay, I was gonna say spouse.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
I can't and my thought my boss. Oh yeah, man, man,
people are really letting their feelings out here, but no,
his boss is not on there. Thanks so much, thank you,
Bye bye bye, Hi Star. Who's this he's going on? Mack,
This is Thomas. We're going record. Hey, Thomas, man, I've
(25:48):
I thought this one would not be too tough, but
we've had some wrong guesses here. One hundred women asked
to complete this sentence. I can't stand my what and
so far I heard my job, my boss, and my spouse,
but those were not on the top answers. So what
do you think the top one is there? Thomas?
Speaker 5 (26:06):
Got it be my hair?
Speaker 1 (26:08):
Could it be my hair? Thomas? You're married man? Correct? Yeah?
So how many times as your wife walked out of
the bathroom after spending a decent amount of time, when
they're only to walk out and say, oh I hate
my hair? I lost count? Yeah. I was gonna say,
it's par for the course at this point, and that's
why hair's the top answer. Cranking on relations, you are
(26:31):
picking up tickets to bring the kid who's over the
kids bop live you much.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
Of course, Yes, it was hair, followed by your ex
then your in laws and your body, rounding out those
top four answers. Well done, Thomas, thank you. Good morning
here it's back at Schmitty and let's talk about sleep, specifically,
how your length to do it and what you're listening
to as you fall asleep. I think a lot of
us are fan sleepers. That's a pretty normal thing. I
(26:59):
actually was a silent sleeper for the majority of my
life until I got into fans sleeping, and now I
could never go back. I could never just sleep into
your silence.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
Crazy.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
Have you heard like the white noise, brown noise, gray noise,
pink noise. Do you believe I had no idea there
were so many colors associated with noise.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
I messed around with like the call map before and
stuff like that, and thought to myself, man, if brown
noise could really relieve anxiety.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
Which is also I'm never going to tell someone I
fall asleep to brown noise. That sounds weird, doesn't it.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
A little bit? It's I mean, like, I don't know
why we had to do colors with it. However, I
have done something shitty that I absolutely am worried about
now because over the weekend on Saturday night, I found
myself not being able to sleep, and I figured out
the reason. It's because I've been reading this sci fi
book series now for so long. I'm on book seven
(27:48):
of book nine. Oh yeah, that I am currently only
able to fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the
narrator of my book.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
Oh yeah, yeah, that is a real thing.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
It is the specific voice of this gentleman who is reading.
His name is Jefferson Mays. He's the narrator for the
series called The Expanse by James A. Quory. They made
an Amazon Prime TV show about this. But it's nine
books long, and they're all super long. They're all between
like six hundred one thousand pages. And I'm listening to
the books and I often fall asleep with it while
(28:19):
i'm listening to it. And I love the books. But
now I popped those things in and like in seconds,
I was out.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
Does he have an accent?
Speaker 5 (28:28):
Is?
Speaker 1 (28:28):
He has a very light British accent? Very light? And
I just I don't think it's good because, like I said,
I'm on book seven of nine. Once it's over, it's
over for four men.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
I was gonna say, you're gonna start just reading weird
stuff because he narrates it like that would judging.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
That would be odd to me if I had to
go find this guy's works, of his nars narrated works.
Just to be able to fall asleep properly. It's a habit.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
I got a break, like sign up for a cameo
and just have him give you like sixty seconds of
something and then you'll be out.
Speaker 1 (29:04):
You know what. That is a fabulous idea because he
could be personalized for.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
Me, and he's not famous enough that he's expensive.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
Exactly, you could I could sit there and be like mac, yep,
you had a great day and you're extremely good looking
and smart. But now it's done curiously.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
In the British accent, so it sounds even more honest.
Speaker 1 (29:22):
Shoot, I wish I could do a British accent better.
I really would do that to you guys right now. However, schbiddy,
what is it for you? You got something when you're
falling asleep.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
The sound of a distant train.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
Like coming closer and closer.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
No, just like a like a like a train horn
from a few miles away.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
I love it, really, I love it.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
I grew up with no if it's you know, if
it's far enough away and you just hear it. Every
so often. I find a train so suiting and.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
He falls asleep traveling through the Swiss Alps.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
That fancy.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
Wow, that's interesting. I was looking on Facebook. I put
this up there. I like Nikki, he's one of us
Christmas playlist or Delilah, Oh, Delilah does put me. Delilah
is a good one for falling asleep. Uh, the fan
A lot of people with the fan. Sadie says, I
have an Alexa that does noise that we sometimes rotate
sounds storm light, rain or fireplace crackling, fireplace noise.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
I'm hit or miss really, I feel like I think
I'm on fire if I'm in.
Speaker 1 (30:23):
Too deep, or maybe you get the popping noises and
you're like where the embers? Yeah, real quick. The babbling
brook is a good idea right up until you get
those old person p's in the middle.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
Of the night and then or you got a top
and you're like no, no, no, no, no, no no no,
we didn't put your mattress pat on.
Speaker 1 (30:42):
What is that noise? You need to just go to
sleep in your best possible way. We got this going
on Facebook at West Michigan stock seven to five points.
See out it. It's mack and smite. I always here
to provide to pick me up. What's happened to sh Minny?
Speaker 2 (30:54):
This is so cool?
Speaker 3 (30:55):
A Grand Rapids woman new to the area reached out
to help do something that's really hard for us adults,
make new friends or Her name is Sage Groves recently
moved to gr and was looking for a way to
make friends outside of work, so she simply posted a
TikTok video with this sounder.
Speaker 1 (31:18):
The way I feel right now, I feel I think
you could be all alone.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
Okay, so it's that simple. She posted that just a
couple of weeks ago and wrote Grand Rapids girlies, if
your type of function is starting the day with a
morning workout, going to the farmer's market, grabbing mimosas and brunch,
then ending the evening with pickleball and watching the sunset,
then girl, we're already best friends and just haven't met yet.
She decided to come up with a group chat. So
(31:45):
originally she hosted this on WhatsApp. She said, listen, we
can talk online talk about potential hangouts. She named it
the gr Gurlies group Chat, and in just a day,
more than seven hundred women in.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
West Michigan joined this group.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
She had to move it to disc because it became
such a large group. So from there, the very first
event she coordinated was a couple tuesdays ago a simple
walk and sunset yoga, and she had more than a
hundred women show up. She sat down with thirteen nine
your Side and talked about that moment.
Speaker 5 (32:16):
I think something that was really cool about it. Before
it even happened, there was a lot of girls in
the group chat like, Oh, I'm not coming, I'm feeling
so anxious, Like thank you anyway, and it was so awesome,
like seeing the empowerment and support from all the other
girls in the group chat. They were like, oh it's okay,
Like I'm feeling the same way. So seeing them walk
up by themselves, Oh, I could cry, Like everyone was
(32:36):
so welcoming.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
It was so incredibly cool. I have joined this group chat.
It is just hundreds of women that are like, let's
do cool things and meet each other. This community is
only starting to grow. So I've actually posted this up
so that you can follow the link. You can join
the discord chat and it's literally just creating events for
gr girlies to meet each other.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
That's pretty.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
That's super amazing.
Speaker 1 (33:01):
Seven hundred plus women in one day, that's wild.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
It's because we're all looking for friends and it's really
hard to do. So gr girlies, I'll get it linked
up for you.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
If guys did that, it'd be like what they joined
in and then one person text every three weeks. That's
about it. Now, I feel like, all right, Spindy, this
I thought was cool. It kind of spoke to me
because I gave my son a guitar for his birthday
just about a month back, and he hasn't practiced anywhere
near as much. But sixteen year old from North Carolina,
Evan Sterling, well, he's been practicing a lot. He's only
(33:32):
been playing the guitar for five months, but he's already
fallen in love with it and it's got a pretty
good knack for it. He's already covering songs by the
likes of Jimmy Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and more so, he's
going to all the guitar gods. However, when it came
time for him to get a little bit better of
a guitar, he and his dad went shopping again and
he was just testing out guitars at his local shop.
(33:53):
There and some stranger, he said, is listening to me
play and said it sounded pretty good. I think nothing
I it because he walked out and I don't see
the guy again for a minute, and then moments later
that's when the guy comes back. And this time he
wasn't just offering up some compliments. He had a brand
new Fender Telecaster guitar, valued it over fifteen hundred bucks,
(34:15):
and according to Evan, he says, he just says, it's yours,
just straight up. He then walks out, and he also says,
the paperwork and everything is in the case. Just take it.
It's yours. Evan's dad telling the local news that he
just was in total shock. There's got to be a catch.
Speaker 4 (34:32):
There's something here that I'm not seeing And it took
a few minutes for both of us.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
Evan and Idek look at each other and like, let
it sink in, Like he's serious.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
What yeah, fifteen hundred dollar guitar. Evan, though inspired by
the kindness of a complete stranger, now says he just
hopes that he gets to do the same thing one day,
that he gets to give a guitar to a kid
when they're looking to get into music too, and then
it just meant the world to him.
Speaker 5 (34:55):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (34:55):
Pretty incredible, but feeling good. Always here to share something
great going on out there. We'll do it again for
you tomorrow, six forty five and nine twenty Join us
right here on Stop Mack and Schmidty in the morning weekday,
starting at six am on Star one oh five point
