Speaker 2 (00:09):
I it Mac and Schmitty in the morning on Star
one of five point seven. Good morning to you, Smitty,
Good morning, Welcome into your Wednesday. Last night, though, the
big blacktail party with Bishil, Schmitty and I of rubbing
elbows and sniff and butts. How did it go?
Speaker 3 (00:23):
It was great, just I mean, it's fantastic to see
all of our incredible shelters across the state out there
with their animals, and man, it's just a really really
nice reminder to adopt, don't shop. There are so many
little nuggets.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
And so many amazing uh sponsors and participants too. I
actually I was over on the website. I was just
sort of checking it out to see if I could
sort of snoop on the adoptable animals yesterday, and I
was blown away by how many local businesses and local
groups step up for that. Cause.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Oh yeah, the head Rapids track was packed.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
The list is insane. There's like there's there's hundreds of
names on. It's unbelief.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Well, if you do have a shelter you love, I
would check this morning because I have it on good
authority that a lot of the pups there last night
have not been listed yet.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Can I say thank you to both you and to
our good friend Ali mack Over. There'll be ninety three
because you both were kind enough. You know, I'm looking
for my next dog.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
We sent you. Tommy Pickle, Yeah, real cuge from Alvine
in South Haven.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Man, My wife is so sick of my kids and
I just ganging up on her tracks.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
So many good animals.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Great to hear that that went down last night. I'd
love to see it today. Well, we got a lot
going on, but it's gonna be kind of a rainy
day for us, guys. It looks like on and off
rain throughout the area basically all day long. Today's shitting.
Yeah you is that napping weather? You ready for that?
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Yeah, y'all. I'm just trying to get through to the
end of school. Some of us are still doing this.
Some of us are still going till Friday.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
Well, this was a very scary moment, if not for
secret Service agents. A Texas man arrested after breaching the
wall at President Donald Trump's Florida resort, telling police he
was there to marry the president's granddaughter. According to an
arrest report out yesterday, twenty three year old Anthony Reyes
was taken into custody shortly after midnight late Tuesday night,
(02:17):
Secret Service agents claim he triggered perimeter alarms at mar
A Lago. It's insane. Rayes reportedly told police he climbed
the wall to spread the gospel to the President and
to Mary Kai. That's referring to the President's eighteen year
old granddaughter Kai. Trump booked in de jail on a
bond set at fifty thousand with multiple conditions, including no
(02:39):
contact with Trump or any of his family members. Rayes
has pled not guilty.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
No, it sounds kind of romantic. It's a little like
the synopsis of Romeo and Juliet if you think about it,
sh manny, he just wanted to hop in there, throw
some pebbles up on our terra's and talk to Trump.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Goha r Tom Girardi, the estranged husband of the Real
Housewives of Beverly hillstar Erica Jane, headed to prison. This
is a story that I've been following for quite a while.
Now sentenced in an LA court yesterday to seven years
three months in federal prison for embezzlement. The sentence comes
after he was found guilty of stealing fifteen million bucks
(03:14):
from his clients over a ten year period, infamously including
three million of settlement cash from relatives of the twenty
eighteen Lion Air crash. Like this guy is gross. In
addition to the prison sentence, he's also been fined thirty
five grand and then ordered to pay more than two
million bucks in restitution.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
See I mean, does it make the show better? Did
they did?
Speaker 3 (03:41):
I don't know. I don't watch the show. I think
they have definitely talked a lot about it. But he's
not gonna be on the show anymore. And finally, Kylie
Jenner is for once speaking on some of the plastic
surgery she has had not she hasn't gotten, including the
very perky top half part of her So this is
all thanks to TikToker rachel Leary, who just uploaded a
(04:04):
video desperately asking Kylie to drop what she had done.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Girl, Please can you just tell us? I promise you
my followers lovely safe space on hair. Please can you
just tell me? Slash h slash anyone that's interested what
it is that you asked for. But whatever way you've
had the implant, if they are implants or if you
had like fat transfer to me, it is perfection.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Well shockingly, highly popped into the comments section on this
TikTok and wrote four forty five cc moderate profile half
under the muscle silicone Garreth Fisher, dropping her surgeon's name,
and then wrote hope this helps. Lol.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
The comment section went pretty wild.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
I would say it's TMI, but it's exactly what they
were asking for.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
So yeah, all of your celebscoop at West Michigan Star
dot com.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
She's stelling on fine points see it. It's Mac and CHEVITTI.
I always looking to get your day off to great.
Start feeling good right now, and you know kids either
on summer brank or abound to me and you start
thinking about the library. Ough yuck, except when you can
get there and get something that's gonna make your summer
that much more fun. I love this going on a
Muskegan area. If you've got a library card for the
(05:19):
Muskegan Area District Library, well you can check out a
bike Schmidty. I love this the Muskegan Area bike library
opened up for the season on Monday. Bike's available for
all sorts of sizes. Whether it's adults or kids, doesn't matter.
You can even do kids once with training wheels. If
maybe you're a little one is just starting to ride.
And all you need is either a Muskegan Area District
(05:41):
Library card or a Hackley Public Library card. Bring a
guardian if you're under eighteen. But this is pretty cool.
You get a helmet and everything. You can even rent
out the bike for the whole summer. And I just
think that the idea of helping kids not only enrich
their minds. Obviously you're a library, it's all about the brain,
but recognizing that getting out and working on your body
and having a bike is just something that's awesome for
(06:03):
a kid. So cool to see libraries do.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
The Kent District Library does the same thing.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Fantastic.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
All right, let's go to Detroit. This was such a
touching moment at Wayne County Probate Court. Maybe not the
place you would necessarily think of a touching moment, but
for Chief Judge David Braxton, it was pretty powerful to
administer the oath of attorney to his son, David Braxton Junior,
The TikTok has seen over a million views of the
(06:31):
emotional moment, David writing, you accomplish your dream of being
sworn in as an attorney and your father swears you in.
It's really cool. They sat down with ABC seven. Dad said,
it was a pretty surreal.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
Moment when I gave the old I almost cried to
see him standing here. I just had all these flashes
on my baby, uh is now a man, Mary Children
and now entering on this.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
I mean, it'd be pretty wild to think back on that.
And as for David Braxton Junior, he was just trying
to keep it together, just trying to focus on not crying.
Speaker 5 (07:07):
But it was just really a great experience and I
just it was like really living a dream.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
He is living the dream and his next dream is
to build his very own law firm. I gotta admit
he's probably got a pretty good dad for advice on that.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
I wonder if you could argue a case in front
of your father, Like if your dad's the.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Judge, are you allowed to coublic adventure Zone?
Speaker 2 (07:27):
That's interesting? Feeling good coming antsy a couple times to day.
I always want to tell you about something great going
on out there. We'll do it again coming up this
morning at.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
Nine to one, Movies, music and all the gossip in
one place.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
Well a big health diagnosis for singer Jesse. J The
British singer said she has been diagnosed with breast cancer,
telling her fans in an emotional video she posted to
her Instagram, Jesse revealing she discovered the illness right before
the release of her new single, No Secrets, which dropped
back on April twenty fifth.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
Before No Secrets came out, I was diagnosed with early
breast cancer. I'm highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in
any form, but I'm holding on to the word early.
I have been in and out of tests throughout this
whole period. I just wanted to be open and share
it one because selfishly, I do not talk about it enough.
I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard. I
(08:23):
also know how much sharing in the past has helped
me with other people given me their love and support
and also their own stories. I just want to and
just let you guys know I am going to disappear
for a bit after summertime ball to have my surgery,
and I will come back with massive and more music.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
In her true funny fashion, she will be back with
the big upper health and new music. But definitely a
very scary thing for her, and she said she wanted
to be very honest with fans before the press got
a hold of it.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Well, and I think it's awesome to tell people like, hey,
this is really scary, but I got in for early detection,
which is such a big thing when you're fighting stuff
like that.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
Travis Kelsey celebrating girlfriend Taylor Swift buying back her entire
music catalog. A new episode of the Kelsey Brothers podcast
New Heights premieres today, where they have gotten the legendary
Shaquille O'Neill as a guest. They dropped a trailer for
it yesterday and Shack is a swift to himself.
Speaker 6 (09:23):
Oh, I gotta I gotta show you.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
He's literally dancing to this.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
That's my favorite song in the world. So it's finally
hers too. Man. I appreciate that.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Yeah, it was really really sweet. He said. He's been
praising her for working so hard to get that music
bought back, and it'll be a big part of the
pod today.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
Literally the biggest swifty of the mall. Schmitty.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Yeah, and post Malone has made a big announcement. He
is going to be partying real hard in Nashville because
he plans to open a massive new entertainment space. So
the Superstar drop the news yesterday he has partnered with
a premier hospitality brand for a twenty six thousand square
foot venue in the city's Lower Broadway district. But here's
(10:24):
the deal, he said, this place is not just a
bar and a big dance floor. When it opens, it
will boast three stages, six bars, a full service dining room,
a rooftop area where patrons can enjoy vast city views,
and Post himself says, we have created a space where
everyone can come together and kick some a. He says
(10:45):
Nashville has really become a second home to him. He
also has a really great knack for marketing. Fans were
actually pointing out this rumor months ago because signs went
up outside the building he had bought, and during the remodel,
it just said we'll posted and the post it was
in all caps. Obviously Post Malone. That's right next door
(11:06):
to Jason Alban's place.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
I was going to say there you go post has
fully embraced the country lifestyle because you're not officially a
country star until you own a bar in Nashville. Because
they all do.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
All right, all of your celeb scoop at West Michigan
start off house.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
Good morning too. It's back and spitty, and it's honestly, like,
the biggest topic in my house right now is summer camps.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
Smitty because you've already got signed up for them, right,
because if not, you're done.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Sort of, we're on witless, We're man. It's coordinating with friends, like,
it's a lot of stuff.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
So I came across a post yesterday and when I
first read it, I was in full agreement with this mom,
and she said, everyone I know signs their kids up
for a string of artisan summer camps these days, each
one more expensive than the next. And if you don't, well,
your kid's going to be bored and alone because all
of their friends will be at camp making stop action
(11:58):
animation or learning competitive battleboarding. She went on to say
camp has become a case of keeping up with the Joneses,
and then goes on to go When I was a kid,
I spent my summer days with my grandparents. When my
parents worked, we made up our own games. Most other
kids were doing the same thing, hanging out at home
and entertaining ourselves. We were creative, sun crisped, dirty toad
(12:19):
and happy, and we should give our kids that same chance.
So you read through that and you go, yeah, no, absolutely.
I was gobsmacked when I looked in the comments section
because people were ripping this mom apart. The first comment, Wow,
having grandparents be here all day, everyday summer childcare means, ay,
you have grandparents who are alive, be healthy enough to
(12:40):
watch your kids in three not working, and live close
by another mom. This post is completely tone deaf. As
a single parent whose mother has dementia and whose father
has already passed, I don't have the luxury of childcare
for my kids in the summer. That's why we do
summer camps. Beth wrote, I mean she was, She said,
(13:01):
are you kidding me? My kid is in a camp
because I work. The cheaper options book up the same
day registration opens. Planning for summer is actually a part
time job that starts in January. Trust me, honey, I
do not spend thousands of dollars and stress out for
months just to impress people that's not what's happening here.
(13:23):
And it really kind of changed my mind on this,
and once again, I think it just really shows this
stress and strapped parenting of like what do we do
for the next three months to make sure that our
kids are still engaged but are in a safe area
and making good choices? Because guess what everyone I know
is a two parent working household, right, And I mean
(13:46):
I don't. I don't have grandparents nearby, I don't have
people that are I mean, trying to find a nanny
for the summer actually costs more than the summer camps.
So what do you do? I'd be interested on people's
take on this. Like I said, when I first read
through this, I went, she's one hundred percent right, Get
your kid outside and they stay till the street lights
turn on. We say that all the time, but is
(14:06):
that doable anymore?
Speaker 2 (14:08):
It's I do think it's tough, and I think that
there's some valid points in there, because if you told
me that your initial reaction to it was because we
kind of have jumped the shark when it comes to
the camps. I loved competitive battle boarding.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
I guess that's where intense.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
That's what it seems like anymore, that there is just
these nitch camps that do sort of cater that way.
But at the same time, I think most parents just
want to give their kids the same sort of camp experience.
Maybe they had his kid, I actually looked into setting
my kids to the same summer camp I went to
thirty years ago up North with it being no difference.
I think it's just a hard thing to navigate and
(14:43):
that everybody's situation is different.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
That being said, what do you think What do you
think about summer camps? Do you see it from this
one mom's perspective where she's like, I'm stressing out because
I'm not giving my kids the summer experience they deserve
because they're not going to a camp every single week.
And then the parents coming in and going, well, hey,
how privileged that you get to be home with your
kids giving them that nineties screen free summer. That's not
(15:08):
a thing for most of us. Give us a call
six one six, four five eight one oh five seven.
I'd love to know what your summer plan is for
the kids. Four five eight one o five seven.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
We're here to make you feel better as a parent
because each and every week we share one of ours.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
There is no way that there is a parent listening
right now that isn't going to go. I mean I've
been there, I've done that. We had a big party
a couple of weeks ago, just for the girls. I
talked about it. We did a permanent jewelry party with
a bunch of my really close friends and their daughters.
And part of that was everybody kind of bringing a
dish to pass. And I have a very very pinteresty
friend of mine who actually hand created this stunning macaroon
(15:51):
tower for dessert.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
I hate people like that.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
It was, I mean it was unreal. It was there
were fresh flowers and baskets and then a bunch of
different macro flavors. And I love macrones. I love them.
I think they're so delicious. And I saw my daughter
immediately eyeing it as soon as it got put down
on the island. Yeah, She's like, oh that that looks delicious.
So here's the deal. Number One kids on sugar after
(16:16):
eight pm. I just can't do it. I just can't.
You guys, we have school the next day. You know,
judge me. All you want is not happening. Number two
They're my most favorite dessert. So when I tell you
that that tower went in the back corner of my closet,
there's absolutely no shame. And I sat in there and
I ate it over the next two days, and my
kids had absolutely no idea that there was dessert hanging
(16:38):
by my dresses.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
Plush Minnie. I feel like macaroons are small enough that
you can literally just shove those hole in your mouth
if you had to do it fast so that the
kids wouldn't see it. So Sophia wasn't and you die.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
I mean regular speed. I'm still putting two through my
mouth at one time, quite honestly, music and all the
gossip in one place.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
Well. Gracie McGraw, the daughter of country stars Tim McGraw
and Faith Hill, has come out as queer, using the
official Pride month of June to share the news with fans.
On her Instagram stories, she writes, happy Freaking Pride. I
Love being queer. It's the first time that Gracie has
really shared publicly about how she feels. As for her
(17:28):
mom and dad, they haven't publicly commented on this, but
have been very supportive of the LGBTQ plus community. I
also want to point out in the pictures that she's
shared with her parents, what do Tim and Faith eat?
Because they do not look older than twenty five years old,
and I'm pretty sure both of them are in their
fifties at this point.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
I'll be honest with you, I don't think either of
them eat anything because they are so real, skinny, like
you can tell they're healthy. You can tell they're healthy.
But Tim McGraw is nothing but pure muscle, and I
don't know cowboys.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
Gracie the oldest of the daughters, which includes sister Maggie
and sister Audrey. This is exciting for Britney Spears fans.
You can now rock some exclusive merchandise from the Princess
of Pop. She has just launched a new collaboration with Valenciaga.
If that sounds familiar, Kim Kardashian does a lot of
work with the company. The limited edition merch though, is
(18:19):
gonna run you a pretty penny. Pieces range from seven
hundred and twenty five bucks to just over six hundred.
This is a limited edition Spring twenty twenty six Exactitudes collection.
I'm not sure. If I'm saying that right, I'm not rich.
The collection was designed by Brittany herself, with some really
cool prints, including like shirts and teas and things like
(18:43):
that with her autograph on it. It actually feels very
throwback late nineties to me. They're ready to wear collection
dropped yesterday, Brittany also putting a playlist together alongside it.
According to Valenciaga, the Britney Spears collection celebrates a global
cultural icon who has shaved the sound and style of
pop music. They said, comprising ready to wear clothes as
(19:06):
well as accessories, and you get this exclusive playlist apparently
that you can't get anywhere else when you buy into
one of these designs, which I thought was pretty interesting.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
Is it the music that he dances to on Instagram?
Is that?
Speaker 3 (19:16):
I don't know, but I said is super cute. The
hat is really.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Cool to tease Brittany, you know, is fine. But Balenciaga
is a big company that is like a major fashion
brand there, so it's good to see her getting deals
with companies like that one.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
And finally McDonald's has made the announcement. It's for real,
for real, for real. They said this a couple months ago.
But didn't say when it would happen. The snack wrap
items are coming back nationwide. In a post shared to
X yesterday, McDonald's writing, we are excited about the significant
opportunity we see within our chicken portfolio and see the
(19:54):
potential to add another point of chicken market share by
the end of twenty twenty six. So they say that
this snack rap will be back.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
This you had me a chicken market share.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
I love the snack wrap. I am so happy to
hear this. All of your celeb scoop at West Michigan
Start dot com.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
It's time to battle. Battle of the Sex is looking
against you out and singing along with kids, Bob Live
and its official SCHMIDI because this is a certified Bop tour.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
Oh boy, that's how you know it's good stuff. Today's
battle question one hundred women survey tell us a food
that's off and fried.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
You talked about McDonald's. All of mine, all of your,
actually all of my all the best.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Stuff by my list would be chock full of the
deep fried goodness.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
It goes well with my cholesterol medication.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
Six one six, four five eight, one oh five seven
Caller seven, We've got one hundred women surveyed tell us
a food that's offen fried on Good Morning.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
Star, who's this Turkey? Where you're coming from today?
Speaker 3 (20:53):
When we had a.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
Different Darcy in earlier this morning, Let's see if we
can get double Darcy today. Are we up for that?
Speaker 7 (21:00):
Sure?
Speaker 2 (21:01):
All the collective Darcys are rooting for you here. So
one hundred women were asked to name a food that's
often fried Darcy. What do they say is their top answer?
I'm gonna go with fun fries. We're going with French fries.
I mean, it would seem like the obvious thing to
go with first, but French fries is actually the number
foremost common answer somehow. I'm sorry, Darcy. Thank you by
(21:24):
Hi Star. Who's this fren? Lynn? Awesome? Lynn? Uh well,
I just got a guess from Darcy. And when one
hundred women were asked to tell me a food that's
often fried, she said French fries, which that's what I
was thinking too, But that was actually the number four answer, Lynn.
So what do you think it is? Oreo? Ooh fried oreo. Yeah,
(21:48):
you might find those in a state fair or something,
but no, that's not on the list either. I'm sorry, Okay,
thanks Lindsay, Hi star, who's this? Why Lindsay from Rockford,
I've got of good guesses. When one hundred women were
asked to tell me a food that's often fried, I
have heard French fries. Yeah, great answer number four answer though,
and I just heard a fried oreo, which I've never
(22:09):
tried but does sound delicious. However, that was not on
the list. So what do you think of this?
Speaker 7 (22:14):
How about?
Speaker 2 (22:16):
How about fried at chicken? Doesn't get much more common
than fried chicken, and that's why it's a top answer.
Congratulation Awesome. Yeah, you're going to be headed to Kids
Bop Live coming to de Vos Place later this year. Congrats.
Speaker 7 (22:30):
Awesome, my kids, it's back in Smitty.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
And I want to talk about the little luxuries of
live Spitty that you just take immense amount of joy
from because my son had a great one the other
day that I think everybody feels the same way about.
My son saved a pair of brand new socks for
a day that he just felt like wanting new socks,
(22:56):
and he was so excited about it. He goes, I've
been He's like Dad, He's like, I know what I'm
wearing today. I'm like, what is it? He goes, I
got a brand new pair of Nikes. And I'm like,
does your mom just buying socks? And he goes, uh, huh,
They've been in my drawer since I got him. He
held on to a brand new pair of socks for
like two weeks, just because he took so much joy
(23:16):
out of putting on a fresh pair of never warm
before suck man.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
My husband doesn't let that happen. He has to wash everything.
He gets weirded out by where things come from.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
Socks I don't do. I do do that with underwear, though,
unless it's in a plastic rep that's his luxury. He's like, hey, guys,
you know all that new stuff you just bought. I
washed it, I washed it, hung it in your closet.
But I asked this. I wanted to know what the
little luxuries in life are that you really enjoy, especially
if they're like modern day ones. To me. I've talked
(23:46):
about it before. My love of a hot steam towel.
Oh dear god, I'm so close to pulling the trigger.
I'm putting one of those in my back. Towel warmer, Yes,
a towel warmer talks about one hundred and seventy five dollars.
I'm very invested in the thought of being able to
step out or step into my bathroom. And maybe is
it an ice towel in the summer, like when you've
(24:07):
arrived at like a tropical.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
Suo luxury though that's Midwest bougie. Ok, that's like heated floor.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
I suppose that that's there. How about robot vacuums, because
that's a big one. I feel like I have hardwood
floors and just being able to turn that bad boy
on and not have to deal with vacuuming or sweeping.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
Yes, please, dang, we're looking at this very differently looked
at their comments section and Abby wrote two ply toilet paper,
and I was like, yes, because whenever I go to
my parents' house, Oh, they're like so concerned about this,
like plumbing and pipes, not you know, having to call
a plumber. So they've got like the one ply stuff.
And I agree, Abby, it's life changing when you realize
(24:46):
you buy the nice quilted stuff.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
We gotta use twice as much as.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
The no no not. Growing up in my house, you did.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
Not Ooh how about that remote car starter? Schmidt?
Speaker 3 (24:56):
Yeah, That was a game changer when I got that
for Christmas.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
Yeah, your husband put that on. Mark Schwartz put on
their dishwasher, something simple, just the dishwasher my dad's bitty
my house growing up. I never had a dishwasher in
my entire life. My dishwasher was my father because that
was how literally he unwinded from work every single day.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
I would have a dishwasher over a refrigerator, you'd have it.
I can get takeout anytime I can't stand doing dishes.
I feel the same way about a washer and a
dryer after spending two years going to a laundromat. That
is definitely a luxury.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Is there is there one little thing you do for
yourself daily that you would put in this category that
is just something that gives you that joy that you
look forward to every.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
Single I got a gift of a satin pillow case
Christmases ago because it's supposed to be good for your
hair and your skin. Okay, every time I lay down?
Speaker 2 (25:46):
Do you think you're just like other people?
Speaker 3 (25:49):
See how the Queen feels.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Everybody else iss sleeping on sandpaper? You're over there.
Speaker 3 (25:55):
Is the celebrity life.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
What is that little mini luxury that you just can't
get it enough of. Share yours. We got it on
Facebook and Instagram right now AT's West Michigan Star. Surely,
little extra person, sometimes a little extra gas, we're here
to provide. It's feeling good on start one oh five
point seven. What's going on? Schmidde.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
Well, this is the guy that's really going to guess
you up because he's all about positivity and hard work.
Justin Walters is in Holland, and the Holland native has
been a part of the godly life for a very
long time. Faith has been a cornerstone of everything that
he has done. His dad was the youth pastor at
his church for his entire life, and he wants to
(26:32):
move in that direction. He graduated with a degree in
theology back in May. Has always had a very special
relationship with God and wants to take that to seminary school.
But it's not the cheapest of things. He does admit
seminary is a bit expensive, so he spends the next
couple of years hoping to work full time and really
pay it off. That's where he came up with a
(26:52):
very interesting idea, literally scooping his way to seminary. That's right,
Justin has started a pet waste removal company. He is
calling pooh busters. Very simply put, he wants to put
his hard work into this and show people that setting
an example of hard work and commitment is honestly the
(27:12):
best example of God in his life.
Speaker 7 (27:15):
I want to say things that are gonna be positive,
and I want to just create a work ethic of
positivity and really just hard work. If I can come
in and not be a complainer and do it to
the best of my ability, I think that that is
one of the best ways that I can share God's love.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
I told you, this guy's gassing you off. What an
incredible example, he tells Fox seventeen. Dedication and creativity can
turn humble beginnings into stepping stones towards fulfilling your dream.
It just might take a pile at a time.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
I mean, that's pretty fantastic. I do love all the
good alliterations. My question to you, Spetti is do you
know if after you become a priest you can still
have a side hustle Because the poo priest does have
a nice ring to you, for sure.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
I mean, he's got a he's ready to start a family.
Him and his wife want to have kids in the
next couple of years, so I can see this as
quite a budding situation.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
I like it all right. In Grand Rapids at Dickinson Academy,
students are playing a board game in this big club.
But it's not your typical board game. It's all about basketball.
It's the NBA Math Hoops Game. It's a fast paced
board game that uses NBA and WNBA stats to teach math, arithmetic, decimal's,
fractions and percentages, all of those things contained within the
game of basketball. Jay Levi Elford, who serves as the
(28:30):
director for the STEMS Scholarship Program at STEM Greenhouse till
thirteen on your side, that this has been an awesome
tool for getting kids engaged in math.
Speaker 6 (28:38):
We really try to get students to attack math with
that same energy that players attack the court. It can
be like pulling teeth sometimes to get kids to do math,
but with this game, it's the complete opposite.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
Actually, yeah, that's right. These kids are excited to do it,
and one of those students is really taken to it.
Eighth grader Kyler Jackson standing out among the participants in
this program. It's one of the first to get there
every day one of the first to leave afterwards, and
he said, it is pure born competition.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
It's very very competitive. It gets really competitive.
Speaker 6 (29:08):
It gets loud in that room when somebody either loses
or wins.
Speaker 7 (29:11):
People play out of their mind.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
Well, and Kyler has been playing out of his mind
because he has been chosen to go represent the Detroit
Pistons at the NBA Math Hoops Global Championship in New
York City. He's going to go up against other top
students from around the world, participate in the mock NBA draft.
Completing all these math based challenges, gets to experience New
York and it gets to bring his mom with him too,
(29:35):
who's just so excited for him.
Speaker 7 (29:37):
I'm looking forward to watch him shine in a way
that I haven't seen yet. He's like the genius of
the family, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
Like the genius of the family. But Kyler would be
the first one to say it's not because he's a genius.
It's just hard work.
Speaker 4 (29:51):
I can't see math as easy.
Speaker 6 (29:52):
Could just not. A lot of people would love to
be where I am at the moment, and they can
get there as long as they put their minds to it.
Speaker 2 (29:59):
Just thought that was a real, really cool idea for
helping kids get math in a brand. Feeling good coming
at you a couple times a day, I always want
to share something awesome. Wall you able to do it
tomorrow six forty five and nine twenty one Star Mack
and Schmidty in the morning weekday, starting at six a m.
On Star one oh five point seven
