Wakem It gets my day going and makes me lab
I it.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Mac and SCHMITTI in the morning on Star one of
five point seven. Well, good morning, SCHMITTI, Good morning, Welcome
in to your Friday. After a wild night of weather
across West Michigan. Is what you're waking up to this morning,
along with tens of thousands across West Michigan still without power, SCHMIDDI.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
I mean shout out to everyone else.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
Pardon me running on a collective seven minutes of sleep
this morning, like myself.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
I tried to go to sleep. I tried to go
to sleep through the sirens and everything. And my wife
something YadA, YadA, YadA about not having enough life insurance.
Come downstairs now like that kind of thing. She said.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
We're in the.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
Basement all night north of Grand Rapids. Yeah, there's a
lot this morning that we'll get to you guys. There's
you know, possible tornado activity we saw south near Kalamazoo,
north near Sparta. There's some problem in Caledonia. We've got
thousands across the state without power. So we're gonna get
you through. We're gonna get you updated. But man, oh man,

(01:08):
that was a long night last night.

Speaker 5 (01:14):
Movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
It's the celebrities group on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
Well, Justin Bieber has now broken his silence on explosive
rumors that have been circulating ever since Diddy was arrested
with all of those insane allegations. The rapper who's been
accused of a string of crimes was really spreading fear
among fans that Bieber may have been one of his victims.
So you'll remember last year a video surfaced of the

(01:43):
two of.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Them hanging out.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
At the time, Justin was a minor, they were together
for more than forty eight hours. The pair have worked
together on albums, and so fans were naturally wondering could
this be part of what maybe Bieber is dealing with
right now. No, it's gotten to the point where Bieber's
rep has actually given an official statement saying, although Justin
is not among Sean Combs's victims, there are individuals who

(02:09):
were genuinely harmed by him. Shifting focus away from this
reality detracts from the justice these victims rightfully deserve. Sources
also confirming that Bieber was never abused by Ditty in
any way, and in regards to the video, it was
simply performative and say Bieber was actually closer to Ditty's

(02:29):
sons than he was to Sean himself.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Which definitely makes it from an age perspective there too.
But I mean, this is a good thing to hear,
I guess, but it just seems like another string in
the Bieber stories of like what's going on with you, buddy?

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
Rapper Chris Brown in trouble with the law again, this
time over the Pond. The R and B singer arrested
yesterday in the United Kingdom over a bottle throwing incident
at a nightclub two years ago. Brown was taken into
custody at a hotel in Manchester on suspicion of grievous
bodily harm. The Sun's reporting that he was busted just

(03:05):
hours after he flew into Manchester on a private jet.
The arrest comes from a violent incident that reportedly went
down at Tape nightclub that's in London back in February
of twenty twenty three. Brown allegedly clashed with a music producer,
and this producer is accusing him of attacking him with
a bottle. He says he was smashed over the head

(03:26):
and then punched, kicked, and assaulted. According to this producer's attorney,
they confirm Brown was involved in the incident and that
the injuries were serious, and they are working to go
through all legal channels properly to make sure that Brown
is held responsible for this. Otherwise, no big details have
been leaked or made public, and Chris Brown's camp is

(03:48):
real quiet on this.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
It would be interested, like I would assume whoever books
his travel is looking for a new job, Like, how
did you not know that you were facing potential charges
from something two years ago.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Finally, Lauren Sanchez, the soon to be wife of Amazon
CEO Jeff Bezos, has begun her star studded bachelorette party
in Paris. Who pictures have already come out man a
list pals include Kim Kardashian and her mom, Chris Jenner,
Eva Longoria, Katie Perry, and they've already gotten to the

(04:22):
delicious part of the city. She actually showed pictures of
the menu mushroom, rigatoni, roasted chicken, Norwegian smoked salmon. I
thought this was really interesting though, because I had not
heard this before. So the picture she posted last night
talks about the women who've lifted her up, illuminated her path,
and shaped her heart along the way. But she is

(04:43):
sitting next to a woman named October Gonzalez, who is
the current wife of Tony Gonzalez, who is Lauren's X,
who she shares.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
A sun with.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
Well, that's nice, so I thought that was they're super close.
Apparently all of them on very friendly terms. All the
co parenting has gone really well, so I kind of
thought that was pretty nice. You don't get to hear
a whole lot of that, all of your celestion.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
The weekend, a lot of your powers on. You should
be feeling good this morning, but we'll pick you up
all the same. It is feeling good on Snowbeno five
point seven, macka Schmidty with you. And you know what,
if you want to go do some skiing, this should
make you feel good. Because Boyne Mountain Resort is still open.
They are the last ski resort in the stay to
remain open. I just looked at Mount Bohemia all the
way up at the top of Karper Harbor. They actually

(05:27):
close in the beginning of this month or at the
end of April, I should say, and You've got Boyne
Mountain still with a run open. It's called Victor Glacier,
and this has been part of the plan. I talked
about this earlier in the season. They have been using
underground pipes, this high tech snowmaking material to build up
this huge base that has offered them the opportunity to

(05:50):
continue to stay open. Even though today the high will
be seventy eight degrees, there's still people going down Victor
Glacier there at Boyne Mountain. Carry who works there for
Boyd Mountain talking about just how they have worked so
hard to make this possible for Michigan skiers.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
We check on it every day.

Speaker 5 (06:10):
The groomer has been up there all morning moving snow
around at that pile just at the bottom's easily ten
feet tall.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
It just keeps kind of shrinking.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
In width though, so we'll continue to spread it out.
Even up on the corner up there, we actually have
a pocket of snow that we haven't even touched yet.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
That's dash, so who knows, I'll maybe break it out
even longer. But yeah, Boyd Mountain got to be open
and doing one final day tomorrow big celebration lift. Tickets
are just twenty five Bucks if you want to go
ski when it's almost eighty degrees outside.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
My brother and sister in law both work there. They
send me pictures of it yesterday.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
Yeah, they've been siking in my brother in law boards.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
They've been doing it in eighty three weather.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
I'm so jealous. I really want to sneak up there.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
Let's talk about a veterans organization in Kentwood that has
stepped up to save a very special place, and that
is the Heroes and Sheiros Corner. This is a really
beautiful spot, but the building itself was in dire need
of help. This is on forty eighth Street and Eastern
Avenue in kent Wood. Reginald Howard is the founder of

(07:11):
Heroes Corner, while the amazing Joan Wallace is the founder
of Shiro's Corner, and they help these veterans. The problem
is they have had to close their doors multiple times
because of ongoing damage to the building, damage to the roof,
damage to walls, and leaks that were actually ruining. Photos
of veterans and other things that have become such a
special part of this space. No worries because a veterans

(07:33):
group started a fundraiser gave in their time and effort,
and now those doors are back open.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
In fact, Home Depot.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
Heard about the project, pitched in by providing supplies and volunteers.
The Job Corps showed up to help free of charge,
and many improvements were made to keep this around for
a lot longer. This is a space that allows veterans
to get resources in an environment that is totally free
of alcohol. That's a very big part of this as well.
Would TV oh, he is so blessed.

Speaker 6 (08:02):
We have got an amazing amount of donation. I love
what our community has come together, our community partners.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Even my family and friends.

Speaker 6 (08:12):
Now we know that we'll be able to be around
for years to come for veterans in their families and
our community.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
So if you want to be a part of this,
the GoFundMe is still headed up there help replace Veterans
Center roof if you want to go ahead and starts up.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Very cool, feeling good coming at you a couple times
a day. Look at this. She had some more positivity
coming up at nine to twenty on Stock It's the
Celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
Well today wraps up the first week in Ditty's trial
in Manhattan, and Cassie spent another day on the stand. Yesterday,
the former girlfriend of the disgraced rap Moguls was being
cross examined and had quite a bit to say. One
of the biggest revelations that came out yesterday. She told
a jury that Diddy was dependent on opiates for a

(08:59):
time and he act actually overdosed back in twenty twelve,
Cassie testifying on the day that did he odd, They
did have one of those breakoffs. They went to a
club in San Bernardino, and then did he headed to
the Playboy mansion. Cassie testifying she was then called and
had to rush him to a hospital where she was
told he was overdosing, and we're not sure how dangerous,

(09:22):
how close to possibly ending it it had come, but
she recalls the fact that he would get very, very
angry if she ever partook in some of these things
without him, but also says that no matter what anybody reports,
the so called baby oil was not laced with any
kind of substances. No matter what they were doing or

(09:43):
what the party was happening to, there was.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Just a lot of it, a lot a lot of
baby oil.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
There's just a lot of baby oil.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
We're talking about the severe storms that rolled through West
Michigan overnight last night. Chicago was hit first, and this
is terrifying footage from Beyonce's concert. She was at Soldier
Field for the first of three shows she has planned
in Chicago and actually couldn't go on a weather delay
kept her from starting on time. Listen to this video.

(10:13):
Fans were sent running from their seats into the concourse
to take some kind of shelter. You can see insane wind,
things that Soldier blowing everywhere, some pieces of debris. I
cannot believe the show actually was able to happen. Beyonce
did hit the stage around ten to fifteen local time
last night, and then she has shows scheduled for Saturday

(10:35):
and Sunday.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
I mean, scary stuff. When you put that many people
in a condensed area like that with really nowhere to
go and no shelter to seek.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
That's freezing, I mean, and they're on the lake right
like they're on the Big Lake too. That wind is
just a different kind of beast. Finally, singer Billie Eilish
has the best response to the internet trolls trashing her
look at last week's met Gala.

Speaker 5 (11:00):
Talk about what I wore to this year's met Gela
being trash.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
I wasn't there, that's Ai.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
I had a show in Europe that night.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
Let me be I wasn't even there. I mean, it's hysterical.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
These pictures have gone viral and all these people are like, ooh,
it's a terrible to get yourself together. Billy really and
she's like, oh my gosh, I'm not even there, Like
that is insane that Ai has gotten so good. She
has an entire half of the Internet up in arms
of her what she wann'ed. She's like, I was performing
across the ocean.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
That's honestly. That cracks me up. Wow, I use is there?
I think that one's pretty hysterical. I'm sure Billy obviously
even got a kick out of it too, Like you
guys are mad about something that didn't exist.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
The Katie Perry one is super crazy as well.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
I've got it up for you with your celeb scoop
at West Michigan Star dot com.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
Good morning to you. It's Mack and Schmidty and all
of West Michigan and beyond. Really on high alert last
night with that weather roller.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
Through and Hihler.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
This morning, we've got about two hundred thousand people across
the state without power. We've been keeping you updated on
that as Consumers has their crews out trying to work
on getting that restored today. But it was probably because
I was downtown Grand Rapids last night doing some work
and then I got home maybe a little after nine,
as it was getting really really gnarly outside, and then

(12:20):
of course everybody sirens are going off, and I'm texting
with all my different friends and family and people checking
in here and there, and the responses I got back,
I was like, man, we're adults, We're this we have
really you know, after you're like, everybody safe, everybody downstairs.
I get a text from my wonderful friend Katie, who
lives over in Detroit, and she says, Ugh, I just

(12:44):
put my planters out today, and these are legacy plants.
If they don't root correctly now I won't get the
five to fifteen years out of them, which is why
I paid extra.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
I mean, just cancel the whole summer, Smidty.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
This the plan.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
My sister in law, Camille, also in Detroit, we just
bought a patio umbrella.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Should I take it? Down.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
I was like, I would say, and then she's moving
her patio furniture up against the house.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
Just wanted to get dinged or blow away. She's like,
that was an investment.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
I heard from an investment in funment, in fun.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
I heard from my brother here in Grand Rapids who
took his cat in the basement before his wife. It's
just like, I'm sitting there last night, you know, not sleeping.
The kids were freaking out, they heard the sirens, woke up.
We're in the basement, the whole thing, and I'm just
getting these messages like I love being.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
In my thirties.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
I mean right, let's think back to a decade ago
and twenty one year old Schmidy who's like, yeah, storm,
everybody come over, let's get drinks and rid it out.
And now it's like, oh my gosh, Katie, if your
Bagalias do not make it through this night, yeah, I
will personally put into the fund for landscaping.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
We did the rush to the porch. It was late,
by the way, the rush of the porch to get
the hanging baskets down. Oh the hanging baskets, Yes, for sure,
you can't forget that.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
Yes, it was just a very one of those moments
where you went ooh, I have gotten older. I clearly
have gotten older, and so have the people in the
circle around me.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
I honestly I resonated with the picture that you put
up of your husband sitting on the porch watching the storm,
because that was me. Like when the sirens started going
off and they were talking about the one in Caledonia,
which is a few miles from my house, I was like, well,
I gotta go watch this. And so I'm standing there
and I'm watching it. My son came up for a
second and my wife goes, you two downstairs right now,

(14:44):
and I'm like why and she I'm like, we're looking you,
we'd be see it coming, and she goes, yeah, like
those people in Twister that were on the other side
of the big screen at the movie theater.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
So you always bring up Twistling immediately.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
Yeah, okay, that's why we actually went in the basement,
because you know, Saren's can go off for high winds,
they could go off for thunderstorm warnings. But like Chris
was out there and then all of a sudden, the
sky lit up big and he goes, ooh, we should
probably go in the basement.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
I was like, what I'm like, grabbing the kids, grabbing
the dogs dog food snacks.

Speaker 4 (15:14):
I was like, well, now it's important you're actually coming
inside instead of being an idiot.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
I was gonna say, just the fact that your husband
starts to give it some seriousness.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Actually, yes, that's when it was worse than the sirens.
Was Chris being like, I've been pretty bad out here.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
So hopefully you are dealing with whatever may have happened
at your house overnight last night.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
Hopefully you slow power.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
Like I said, consumers is out and they are hoping
everyone is restored by later today.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
You know, I tried to sleep through it, as I
mentioned earlier. My wife was trying to wake me up
and everything because I went to bed early. But there's
no chance you're sleeping if your dog's got anxiety like
mine does and they're just moving their butt to your face.
I don't know what it is about your head that
requires their butts to be on it, but that is
immediately what my dog goes. Ahm's Mack and Schmidty in
the morning on Star one five.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
Seven times say time spill the too, sweetheart.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
That's right, it is time to get into the latest
drama going on in your life? Tea time here on
startwe oh five point seven. You can always share what's
happening with this at West Michigan Star. We'll keep you anonymous,
just like today's.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
Yeah, this is a really really intense one and I
think a lot of families probably deal with this. We
got a message that said, do you guys have rules
and who should and shouldn't be invited to a graduation?
My buddy's daughter is a senior. She graduates in a
couple of weeks and does not want his new girlfriend coming.
My friend got divorced about a year and a half
ago and he's been dating this new woman for nine months.

(16:36):
He's talked to me about it, and he's super upset
because he feels like this relationship is getting serious. His
daughters talked to my wife and she is having a
really tough time because of the split. She just wants
her parents and close family there and she's not that
tight with the girlfriend. Would you say to the dad, no,
go on the GF or bring her because he sees
a legit future with this woman.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
I know when you're in a new relationship, especially coming
off a divorce from my friends I know everything is
very intense, right, the feelings are super important and all
that stuff. But otherwise, to me, this seems like a
no brainer. Of course, you don't bring her. It's about
your daughter, it's not about you.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
I'd say that too, but like people do this at weddings.

Speaker 4 (17:16):
Yes, and all of my wedding photos are ruined because
my brother brought his girlfriend and put her front and
set in all of our family pictures.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Here's the thing, though, I don't want to go to
a wedding solo unless I'm trying to go to the
wedding to meet somebody, right. I want to bring a
date to a wedding. A graduation party is not that.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
A great no.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
I think this is sounds to me like the actual graduation,
and I do want someone there because they're born as
heck they really are.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
I need somebody to chit chat with.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Its three hours of bory.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
I really.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
Suzanne had something that really struck me, she wrote on
her Facebook. She said, I'm sure the daughter has been
dreaming about the quote unquote picture of her graduation for
the last five years, and it was something she would
celebrate as a family, not as a broken family with
dad's girlfriend that Wow.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
All right, the word broke that the phrase family just
hurts your soul.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
Six one six four five eight one oh five seven.
You can always hit us up inside our talk back
button that red microphone right on our free iHeart Radio app.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
Hey, Sarah, I think in this instance, she should be
his first priority for this. So I think for her moment,
he should do what she wants, and then down the
road they need to have a conversation. But I think
for now, like she's still a kid, I think I
think he should do it makes her feel comfortable.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
I think it's interesting she said she's still a kid,
because I hear it from so many people that have
gotten divorces and they're like, well, we're just waiting for
the kids to get into college. Honestly, that he like,
they're not still kids and going to be really really
affected by it.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
That's what happened with my very best friend. His parents
divorced when he was when his little brother finally got
into college and my best friend was out of college,
and it really it hurt.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
Him bad, and then it best because you saw a
relationship that was probably pretty poor for like years longer
than you should have.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
I was going to say he started to feel guilt
like that, the that his parents were unhappy, but just
doing it for them. And at the same time, you know,
it's just one of those things that you never imagined
when you're you grow up to adulthood with your parents
and then they divorce. You just don't ever see that happening.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
Okay, So Aubrey has a very different view on this,
and maybe a little bit harsh.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
I out this talk back.

Speaker 7 (19:17):
So I think if this was a casual thing where
he just started dating the girl, then like that'd be different.
But if this is a serious relationship and she's going
to be around, then I think the daughter needs to
get used to it. I mean, you don't you don't
let your kids rule the roost.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
I mean, like you don't let your kids rule the roost.
I was like, ooh, girl.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
I mean, I guess it depends on how much she's
been involved in this girl's life up until this point.
But it doesn't sound like and she already made it
clear that she doesn't want the girlfriend there because it
will be awkward.

Speaker 4 (19:49):
She says there, that's tight, But that doesn't mean she
hasn't been around and trying. What do you think I
did put the email on our Facebook if you want
to pop into the comments and let us know should
dad be allowed to bring the girlfriend for grant situation?

Speaker 2 (20:00):
And make sure you always send your drama to us
so we love yours much more than our own. All
right at Westbouch you can start on Facebook at Instagram
point seven, Mac and Schmidty. You're home a Battle of
the sexies and we are looking to get you to
ford Field for a massive show.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
The weekend is coming to Detroit. This is Memorial Day Weekend.
Super super cool. I've seen him live. It is so
worth it. Today's number one answer is going to score
you tickets. One hundred men surveyed. Name something you'll keep
on your office desk.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
Something I'll keep on my office desk forty seven pens,
of which only like one works, but they all look
the same, so I can never find it in time.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
Man.

Speaker 4 (20:40):
So, my mom was a teacher and she used to
have pictures of all of us like on her teacher's desk.
It's cute, yeah, but then she get really weird about
because the junior high kids would come in and the
boys were always like creeping on my picture.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
So she had to put that in the drawer.

Speaker 4 (20:52):
Yeah, yeah, so careful, careful with the family photos, oh man.
One hundred men surveyed name something you'll keep on your office?

Speaker 2 (21:03):
Good morning, Star, who's this?

Speaker 1 (21:05):
Good morning?

Speaker 2 (21:05):
It's Tim.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
Tim.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
Let's see if we can get you hooked up here.
Gotta tell me. When hundred men were asked to name
something that you're gonna keep on your office your desk,
what do you think, the top answer is I'm just
gonna roll with paper. You just gonna roll with a
ton of paper. It's not a bad guess, but no,
pen and paper. Notepad is the number two most common answer. Sorry, Tim,

(21:29):
have a great weekend, Hi Star, who's this?

Speaker 7 (21:34):
Scott?

Speaker 2 (21:34):
Just got a good guest from Tim. When one hundred
gentlemen we're asked name something you're gonna keep on your
office desk, he said pen and paper? Which notepad was
the number two most common answer, but not the top one.
What do you think it is, Scott?

Speaker 7 (21:47):
A generic family photo?

Speaker 2 (21:49):
A photo of like you and your family, A generic
family photo. It would be a nice, sweet thing to
look at from time to time. But it's the number
five most common answer. I'm sorry, all right, thank you,
Hi Star, who's this?

Speaker 1 (22:04):
Hi, this is Julian Harrison.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Julian Harrison. You know I've had a couple of guys
guests right now, Julie, Let's see if you can get this.
Maybe you and Harrison will have to head to Ford
Field to see the weekend one hundred men. Guys were
asked to name something that you're going to keep on
your office desk, and so far I heard pen and paper,
which was a good one, but that was the number
two most common answer. And then I just heard a

(22:29):
generic picture of your family and that was the number
five most common answer. So again, guys, name something you
keep on your office desk.

Speaker 7 (22:39):
Okay, we're going to say computer.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
You're going to say computer. How olds Harrison.

Speaker 5 (22:46):
Almost sick?

Speaker 2 (22:47):
Almost six? Or you is Harrison wrapping up kindergarten?

Speaker 7 (22:52):
I mean he might try.

Speaker 4 (22:53):
Let's see he's wrapping up kindergarten very close.

Speaker 6 (22:57):
Man.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
That's a big graduation right there too. So you know,
lots of exciting things for you guys coming up, including
a trip to ford Field to see the weekend. Computers answer,
wait to go, guys, Yeah, you've got tickets to see
the weekend. The former Super Bowl halftime performer gonna be

(23:19):
there next weekend for shows on Saturday and Sunday, and
you guys will be there too.

Speaker 8 (23:24):
Oh my god, okay, great, thank.

Speaker 1 (23:26):
You so much.

Speaker 2 (23:27):
You're very welcome. Congratulations, Julie. Congratulations harrishent with you on
a Friday morning. And you know this weekend, maybe there's
some more graduations going on around West Michigan. I know
there was some during the week this week, which kind
of surprised me. However, of course, that means graduation songs.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
Oh yeah, you told.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
Me you don't remember.

Speaker 4 (23:47):
You could not, for the life of me, tell you
what our graduations was.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
I wouldn't be surprised if it was any of these cliches.
So what was your graduation song? You can hit this
up on Facebook and Instagram at West Michigan Star. But
let's through some of the classics. Of course, Schmitty, you've
got this one.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
I never heard of anyone having that as a Graduation's
interesting weight just a different generations.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
Don't stop, believe it. I feel like that's the one
they go back to these days when they want to
feel nostalgic. Nostalgic a little bit. How about, of course
one from our time? Smitty Yeah, Green.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
News a big one like that was the class ahead
of us.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
Yeah, two thousand and one. This was this was a
big one two thousand and two right in that area
for sure. How about more of a contemporary one. A
lot of kids these days doing this one.

Speaker 6 (24:31):
Since I was said our rooming or do not always
I congratulations?

Speaker 2 (24:38):
Interesting right, Like I feel like this is one of
those ones though this is not gonna age. Well this
is post malone. Congratulations very gen z it is and
it's got kind of like almost that like they doubted
us and now we've made it kind of vibe, which
I don't know if I feel like that in capsules
old school, I go on, this is I was gonna say,
do you feel like it's okay to go anti positive?

Speaker 4 (25:02):
So this was not anybody's graduation song, but my high
school every year on the last day for the seniors,
all the cars lined up and everybody like got cigars
out and really lasted that song in our high school
parking lot.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
Yeah, that makes sense. A good water balloon soundtrack for sure.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
And then of course there's still another classic, the Pinkful
Floyd song.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Oh I'm.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
Yeah, all right, I smitty, I'm going to bring you
to mine. Now because I hate this. I hated the
song then, I absolutely still hate it now, and I
think that it has only gotten worse with time. Why
did the class of two thousand and two at Holton Lake, Michigan?
Why did the Bobcats go with Lincoln Park in the end?

Speaker 3 (25:51):
I think that's good?

Speaker 2 (25:52):
What are you talking about?

Speaker 3 (25:53):
List listen, I take that over vitamin C in the end.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
It doesn't it doesn't even matter, are you kiddy?

Speaker 3 (26:02):
This is so good?

Speaker 2 (26:03):
Winer Anthem.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
I gotta tell you I got a great message from Ryan.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
He said, two thousand and four, class song Friends in
low Places, Darth Brooks, tell me you grew up in
Midwest USA.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
We all deserve to roll into a Friday and then
roll into the weekend feeling good. Let's help you out
right now, Mack and spitting here on Star what's up schmitting?

Speaker 4 (26:21):
Well, I just, you know, want to point out whenever
somebody is saying really great things about a spot in Michigan,
you want to hear about it. And if you've ever
heard the name doctor Sanjay Gupta, he is a huge,
huge part of CNN. He's their chief medical correspondent and
he just happens to be Hey, Wolverine and CNN has
actually launched an original series called My Happy Place, where

(26:45):
they follow celebrities on deeply personal journeys to those places
that have meant the world to them. And for doctor Gupduk,
it's ann Arbor.

Speaker 8 (26:54):
We are in ann Arbor because this is my happy place.
I spent thirteen years of my life here studying to
become a neurosurgeon. Ann Arbert checks all the boxes. It's
packed full of incredible places, including the world famous Zingerman's Deli.
I was sitting here to bring me pasta floor, a
glass of wine, more pasta, some bread to the happiest

(27:15):
place in the world.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Chicks.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
Yeah, that was him and his wife. And it's just
a really, really great episode. So I'll link it up
for all myna two lovers. Excuse me, as the locals
put it, He's just shining a spotlight on a lot
of really cool things happening in that city.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
You know, I'm so happy that he brought up Zingerman
so delicious of anybody knows it, ow Man, all right, smiddy.
This is one of those stories of a kindness of
a stranger that just makes waves online.

Speaker 7 (27:41):
Right.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Stephen Cash is his name, and He is an Amazon
delivery driver down in San Antonio, Texas, and it wasn't
too long ago that he was on his route and
noticed that one of his customers, or one of the
people that he was delivered to package for, had their
ring doorbell camera basically fall off of their door, and
so he decided he was going to fix it a
little bit. And it's a ring doorbell camera, so the

(28:02):
whole thing was captured.

Speaker 6 (28:07):
The door and he came home Sarah, sorry, I help
you out.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
Yeah, no big deal, Like you know, he just popped
it back on there and went about his day. Well,
the person whose house that was, Kate Roughs, boled. She
was really touched, so she put it online saying, hey,
I'd really like to give this guy a tip if
I could. Does anybody know who he is? Well that's
when the internet did his thing. It went viral, of course,
racking up millions of views. He was eventually found and

(28:37):
then the KA Double B News in San Antonio actually
it arranged a surprise meeting between Steven and Kate. Those
two got together and not only did they get a
big thank you and a hug and everything, but he
got a thousand dollars in cash from the place the
TV station's Cash for Kindness program. Kate just talking about

(28:59):
how it meant so much to.

Speaker 6 (29:00):
Her home later that night, and I've seen it and
I was like, it was such a big deal to me.

Speaker 3 (29:05):
I wanted to say thank you.

Speaker 7 (29:06):
And give you a husb because Shriverally is a huge
deal to me.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
You know, in the world we live in nowadays, safety
and Shriverally, there's not very many people that are just
so kind.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
And especially being an Amazon driver, I mean that you're a.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
Busy man, and that thousand dollars is going to go
a long way for Steven too. He talked about just
how it was going to help him and his son.

Speaker 5 (29:24):
I'm just glad that I was able to do something
that just happened to you know, pay off for me,
and now my son's going to see the benefits and
just you know, think the community.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
He and Ken when you think nobody's watching, it's always
cool that it pays off. Feeling good comes out a
couple times to day. I always want to share positivity
with you. We'll do it again on Monday six forty
five and nine twenty here on Star Mack and Schmidty
in the morning weekdays starting at six am on Star
