Wake up. It gets my daygoing and makes me laugh. I love
it. Mac and Schmidty in theMorning on Star one o five point seven
Movies, Music and all the gossipin one place. It's the Celebrities Goop.
On Star one oh five point seven, Actress Scarlett Johansson is ready for

(00:24):
legal war against chat GPT. Theactress came out swinging yesterday on the heels
of Open Ai. That's the creatorof chap GPT pulling their newest feature,
suspending AI voices that they recently broughtout, including one many say sound just
like Scarlet Johansson. The new voicehas been dubbed Sky, and many felt

(00:49):
it perfectly sounded like Scarlett's AI characterin that twenty thirteen movie Her, where
Joaquin Phoenix falls in love with acomputer that sounds human. While Scarlett is
claiming she was actually approached by openayes heads back in September, that includes
CEO Sam Altman, who says thathe wanted to hire her to voice that
current chat GPT four point zero model, Scarlet said she considered it ultimately declined,

(01:14):
but they did it anyway. OpenAy's CEO then said the voice of
Sky is not Scarlet Johansson's and itwas never intended to resemble hers. We
cast the voice actor behind Sky's voicebefore any outreach to Miss Johansson, but
out of respect for Miss Johansson,we have paused using Sky's voice in our
products, and we're sorry that wedidn't communicate better. I'm confused by that.

(01:38):
Get the lawyers ready and then youcan say it's not her. It
doesn't sound like her, but outof respect for her, we're going to
go ahead and act like it is. Also doesn't help that Sam tweeted out
her right before this dropped last month. So not not great, dude,
Nascar in a celebrity boxing ring whichyou paid a watch this, so if

(02:00):
you missed it. On Sunday night, Ricky Stenhouse Junior and Kyle Busch got
into a massive, massive beef followingthe race at the All Star Race in
North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Carolina. This was nasty, kind of one of
those bench brawling, bench clearing brawls. Well now, Damon Feldman had Hanscho

(02:22):
of Celebrity Boxing said he would lovedto put the two into the ring,
and a video message he posted yesterdayhe said, as soon as they give
him the green light. He's readyto make this happen, adding, come
on NASCAR, this would be thebiggest deal in the country. I can
tell you Ricky stein Steinhouse Junior isprobably up for that. I think he's
still angry all right. Finally, this would be massively shocking. Graceland,

(02:46):
the former home and burial site ofthe legendary Elvis Presley, set to be
sold off at a foreclosure auction onThursday. So a legal notice was published
this month that Graceland and the surroundingland on Elvis Presley Boulevard would be auctioned
off for cash to the highest bidderat the Shelby County Courthouse. So here

(03:07):
is the deal. Apparently, Riley'smom, Elvis's only child, the late
Lisa Marie Presley, allegedly signed adeed of trust back in twenty eighteen in
order to secure a three point eightmillion dollar loan using all of Graceland as
collateral. Well, now they're comingfor it. According to Riley, Lisa
Marie's daughter, she's alleging that hermom's signatures on these deeds are complete forgeries.

(03:32):
A temporary restraining order on the auctionwas placed yesterday with a hearing set
for tomorrow. I mean, Schmidie, we are talking about the King.
Okay, this is a musical historicallandmark as far as I'm concerned. And
I know even if they foreclosure andsell it off, somebody else will probably
turn it into a tourist attraction aswell. But how gross would it be?

(03:53):
Exactly? This is God's stay inthe Presley family. I don't care
about the drama on the money, like it just has to happen. All
of your celeb scoop at West MichiganStar dot com sometimes because I get a
good feeling. I'm trying to getthis Tuesday out to a great start for
you. It's feeling good right nowand Startino five point seven maca smitting with

(04:14):
you. And as a golfer,I just think this is so cool.
As a former caddy for golf, well, I think it's life changing.
Banona Shores Golf Club yesterday played hostto a golf marathon that raised money for
First Tea, which is an organizationthat gets West Michigan kids introduced to the
game of golf and also gives theminformation on how to become caddies at local

(04:35):
courses. Well one gentleman went aboveand beyond. His name is Bob Billips,
lives in Stony Lake, and heis an eighty year old who agreed
to play eighty holes of golf yesterdayalone to raise money for First Tea.
Now that program is based in WestMichigan given those lessons to kids age seven

(04:56):
through seventeen. And what's also reallycool is that they are part of the
Evans Scholarship. Once you become acaddy. Well, Bob at eighty years
old, he can relate to thatpretty well because he was in fact an
Evans Scholar back in the day.He received money to help pay for college
because of his time spent as acaddy. So it was his way of

(05:16):
giving back to the game. Soeven though there was rain that turned him
at different point in time, thingshad to stop a little bit. At
eighty years old, he played eightyholes of golf yesterday and also really picked
things up when it came to thefundraising as well, because they were hopeful
that he would get at least twothousand dollars. But well, as he

(05:38):
would tell you, he did alittle better than that. Even I'm eighty
years old, so I thought, you know, I have Bill go over
there and play eighty holes. AndI'm pretty good shape for my age,
and I have no doubt that Ican make it. But and I told
those guys, I said, youknow, they wanted us to come up
with like two thousand dollars in playand so forth, and I thought,

(06:00):
I don't know about that, andI'm well over two thousand. Yeah,
told Fox seventeen, well over thattwo thousand dollars goal that he had originally
set out there. Again, themoney got to go help kids learn more
about golf, become caddies, andhopefully score some scholarship money out of the
deal. Two so really cool.Of course, we're just a few days
away from the Memorial Day weekend, and please please we do not say Happy

(06:23):
Memorial Day, as it is aday to remember the veterans that gave the
ultimate sacrifice, but also remembering theveterans still with us and honoring their legacy.
That's exactly what happened at the SelfridgeMilitary Air Museum over on the East
Side. It's in Harrison Township, and they held their Salute to Veterans,
a second annual event featuring an exhibitshowcasing what it was like to serve in

(06:46):
different military campaigns, and the guestof honor was one hundred year old Donald
Wininguard. He served as a medicwith the US Air Force in World War
Two. And like every veteran youwill ask, they do not consider themselves
heroes, no terrific vacasion or anythinganybody wanted to do. We just went
it was our turn. We went, that's all. It was our turn,

(07:08):
and we went, that's all. It's a really incredible story. ABC
seven caught him at the moment thathe was saluted by those fellow veterans around
him. I'll have the video atWest Michigan Star dot com. All right,
feeling good coming at you a coupleof times today. But we do
it through the music, we doit through the stories, and of course
we're not afraid to bribe you either. Get you out for live music with
third Eye Blind tickets that aren't evenon cel yet come your way this morning

(07:30):
at seven thirty here on Starbinars fivepoint seven movies, music and all the
gossip in one place. It's thecelebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Well, it was an absolutely stunningaffair. As Eminem's daughter Hailey Jade
Scott married Beyonce Evan McLintock over theweekend. The big ceremony went down on

(07:55):
Saturday in Battle Creek at a gorgeousplace called Green Crest. Just a few
pictures have popped up showing em ina full tuxedo with some pretty sweet kicks,
sharing that father daughter dance Evan lookedincredible. Apparently it was a pretty
small ceremony, modestly sized, onlyclose family and friends, but that did

(08:18):
include people like fifty Cent and DoctorDre who were there as well. Yeah,
this is really really cool. Someof the pictures that have dropped show
her any gorgeous strapless white wedding gownand I have never heard of this place,
but it just like out of afairy tale. I'm shocked. What
Battle Creek. If you ask mewhere in Michigan, obviously I would have

(08:39):
said Detroit is where this is aBattle Cree And apparently green Crest manor getting
some nice pub here because it isbeautiful. We've got some of those photos
up, including the first fam pictureat West Michigan Star dot Com. Adele
has got fans buzzing with some lifenews. It sounds like she's ready for
baby number two two after her Vegasshow wraps up, so apparently. Fans

(09:03):
who were at her show the othernight say that she kind of let a
little secret slip, saying she isputting baby making at the very top of
her to do list with Rich Paulas soon as her residency wraps up.
Remember, she does have a son, Angelo, she shares with her ex
Simon Kanecki. Angelo is now elevenand she wants a mini me girl.

(09:26):
Fans said that Adele goes I feellike she might be like the person I
love the most in the world, but also probably hate the most in the
world. That's what I feel likeis gonna happen. She's gonna put me
in my place all the time, isn't she? So that could be very
interesting. I mean, it hasbeen pretty apparent that Adela's had baby fever

(09:46):
for quite some time now, sonot surprised to hear this. And finally,
Peloton swearing off Diddy's music for allfuture workouts. After that horrifying video
from his twenty sixteen salt on exgirlfriend Cassie Ventura emerged on its private member's
Facebook page, The fitness company postedone just one of their users saying,

(10:11):
Dear Peloton, your next purge needsto be all ditty classes signed women everywhere.
Peloton responding saying, thank you forsharing your concerns. We take this
issue very seriously and can confirm Pelotonhas paused the use of Shancomb's music as
well as removed the Bad Boy EntertainmentArtist series on our platform. It means

(10:31):
our instructors are no longer using hismusic in any newly produced classes. Again,
thank you for sharing your concerns andbeing a member of our Peloton community.
That's got to be a bit ofa hit. If did he was
getting any kind of funding and moneyfrom that, Yeah, I mean in
my head, I feel like thedude had like two hits ever, But
like the Bad Boy Entertainment Group though, that's a lot bigger. And we'll

(10:52):
see if this continues. Let's notforget that Chris Brown backlash when even radio
stations stop playing his music. Allof your celeb scoop at West Michigan Star
dot com, Good morning, Tier, it's Mack and Schmitte and yes tis
the season for some thermostat war Schmettiand when you just brought that up a
moment ago yeah, said it wasyou and your husband who are in it.
I was just so happy because Ijust didn't want it to be with

(11:15):
me. We've been in the battlesfor thermistats here and I'm I'm Switzerland.
I am neutral. I try andstay out of it, but I've got
warring factions of this building. Wellhere's the deal. Tis the season,
but not for us. This isthe first time we've had central air since
we lived in college. Nice.We have not had central air since we
were in college apartments, which Igraduated in two thousand and nine. So

(11:37):
do the math. We have nothad central air either one of us.
We've done the window unit thing, all that, and I want to give
a huge shout out to Schaft's MAHeating and Cooling. They came out to
our place set us up with thisnew HVAC system that is apparently able to
hit Siberian tundra attempts. Love itbecause yesterday is the first time we fired
this baby up. My husband ishot all the time. It could be

(12:03):
the dead middle of January and he'slike, oh, it's just really study.
And so when we hit the summertimeand it's in the eighties, all
you will hear from this man iscomplaint after complaint after complaint. If he
could live in the Arctic Circle, that would be his dream spot. So
I knew it was coming. Iknew he was gonna be like it's because
he did it Sunday. He goes, Babe, it's already sticky outside,

(12:26):
and I was like, it's notthat bad. The breeze is great,
the windows are open, We're stilldoing wonderful. But he popped it on
Yesterday. I got home from theshows and it was frigid. I went
to pee and my toilet seat couldhave held icicles. I'm like, what
are you doing this? It isso cold in here? And we've like
I'm facing the vent in one ofour rooms and it's just pumping out air.

(12:50):
I'm like, dude, what doyou have a study? It's like,
it's fine, it's said at seventyfour. I was like, if
this is seventy four, we areabout to save so much money, because
that needs to be said at likeeighty. My friend, it is so
cold in here. So we wentback and forth last night because I get
into bed and we have police sheetson our bedstill, and I was possibly

(13:13):
comfortable that's how cold it was inour house. Oh, I get nervous
because I'm cheap. I'm a frugalWest Michigan woman. I do not want
to get an electric bill that's youknow, thousands of dollars because you keep
My friend keeps her thermostat at sixtyfour. There's some people I don't understand

(13:33):
how they can. I don't havethat kind of money. But he's like,
okay, how about seventy how aboutseventy five? I was like,
seventy nine. He goes, sothere's no point in it even being on.
I was like, perfect, thenwe'll turn it off and pop the
windows. And is that maybe justthe new technology of AC. I mean,
I don't know these things, butman, it was so cold in

(13:54):
our house yesterday. I don't know, because you know, all stuff is
different and will be in my house. We battle over we did not turn
it on yesterday. We were veryclose, but we did not turn it
on yesterday for those very same reasonSCHMIDI. However, when it does,
we will argue about it. Becausewhen we lived in Vegas for a decade
and it was one hundred and tendegrees every day, your thermostat was always
if you had ac on, whicheverybody did, it was set to like

(14:16):
eighty eighty one eighty two somewhere inthere. Moving back to Michigan, I
feel like the standard is like aseventy seventy two. Yeah, we have
like six months of winter and apparentlydon't want to leave it. I don't
know, but it has begun. And so now we are both on our
phones furiously trying to research who couldbe right anster? I think you should

(14:39):
be able to change it from yourphone every time. Oh yeah, no,
chefsman gave us the whole package.Yeah, we're switting in bed and
it's just dirty. We're each likeswiveling the circle as fast as we can,
and I'm like, well, thisis probably super great for the electricity.
And I discovered for those of youthat are also a frugal West Michigan
woman like myself, lowering your thermostatset to ten degrees eight hours a day

(15:03):
reduces your expenses by ten percent. So I was like, you're setting this
baby at seventy two. We areputting it up to eighty and we're going
to be just fine. That's alot of nice online shopping. Your husband
likes a good deal too, though. Did that almost get him in there?
Or does his need for coolness outweighhis need for never He does not
care. This is a guy thatwas taught to wash reusable ziploc bags and

(15:28):
he will spend an exorbitant amount ofmoney on air conditioning because he wants to
be cool. Oh that is awesome. Yeah, I've got a father like
that, and it's always a pleasure. It's always polish. Leaves him entirely
when it starts to get hot outside. Do you have the thermostat wars have
you kicked down the AC yet?I would love to know what you set

(15:48):
your temp at or who's the problem? It's the husband's I gotta tell you
what though. The idea of sleepingthis weekend without AC with those flee sheets,
you guys are rocking so salty.I think there are a lot of
couples partners who are going through thisright now because everyone's trying to get their
yard ready for Memorial Day weekend. If you have the people over hosting whatever.

(16:11):
And we're the same, but myhusband lives for the yardwork. He
is very, very big on apristine lawn. He likes to do it
all. This is the guy thattalked me into three back breaking days of
retilling our lawn. Have you everdone that? Regrading it? Regrading it?
Get ready, it's worth the money. Don't do it. It is

(16:33):
the hardest stuff I have ever done. And so we get to our new
house and the people that owned itbefore us did not do a whole time
in the landscape. You could tell. So he had a lot of stuff
he was fixing up. I lovethat about him, and he's so good
at it. But I don't wantto spread mulch when I get home on
a Monday at one pm. Igot up at three, babe. And

(16:55):
I also don't want to do iton the weekend. And I also don't
want to do it on Friday.I do understand I'm one hundred percent of
the problem here, but if youcould just let me know, man,
I'll start to sell feet picks ifit means paying someone to do this for
us. Because he doesn't always tellme either. I pull in and I
can't see I pull in. Yesterday, I don't see his truck in the

(17:15):
driveway. He's like smiling ear toear, He's like bag guess what,
No, No, I couldn't seehim and that had me even more concerned.
I'm like, where is his truckand where is he? And I
turned the corner and he has backedhis ram down our backyard with an entire
truck bed of mault and he madeit easy. I took my car and

(17:37):
left. So Salky your husband,I'm sorry. He's an absolute saint.
You'd be lucky to spread his maltaround Schmitty movies, music, and all
the gossip in one place. It'sthe celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point
seven. Drake Bell is in hisfirst sit down interview on television with The

(18:00):
Today Show yesterday, talking about allof the fallout after that Max documentary Quiet
on Set The Dark Side of KidsTV. The former child star opened up
about the trauma he faced at thehands of former Dialogue coach Brian Peck,
even confirming a really uncomfortable moment wherehe talks about his assault and said things

(18:22):
were happening to me in a roomwhere there's a painting by one of the
most prolific serial killers who preyed onyoung boys staring at me. That's right.
John Wayne Gacy had apparently gifted BrianPeck one of his paintings and it
was even signed. I mean, this is just really really awful stuff.

(18:45):
But Drake does admit he has beengetting some incredible help. Therapy has been
wonderful. He's sober, and he'sthe best dad he's ever been, explaining
if he could go back now andtalk to that little boy that was in
such a tumultuous and confusing time, this is what he would say. It's
gonna be okay. You're gonna findstrength. As weak as you feel in
these moments, and as scared asyou feel, go back to the superpower

(19:08):
thing. It's like, as traumaticas this is, this is your origin
story and you are going to havea suit of armor when you get through
it. He is still clearly dealingwith some fallout, especially with his trauma,
but he's got new music that's comingout, and he also made sure
to talk about how many fans havebeen just beyond supportive. I mean,

(19:30):
this whole thing is absolutely disturbing. But honestly, that fact about the John
Wayne Gacy painting, yeah, wehadn't heard that, Like that just is
another level of creepy that has nobusiness being inserted into this story in any
other way other than like what whatwhat what. Matthew Perry's death has publicly
been considered open and shut, butit's been found out that authorities are still

(19:55):
investigating. Law Enforcement sources say anongoing investigation into where Matthew got the ketamine
that ended up playing a part inhis passing, and the main questions they're
trying to figure out who provided thedrug and under what circumstances. Apparently both
local police and the DEA have beenlooking into this matter for months. Not

(20:15):
sure where investigators are officially at rightnow, but they have been interviewing keep
people in Hollywood. While those nameshave remained anonymous, investigators say they've approached
and spoken to people who are knownto have had a history of drug use
or abuse so that hopefully it canlead them to a source of This would
not be the first time that investigatorshave looked into the passing of a celebrity

(20:37):
when it's dealt with drugs, andin some cases, like remember rapper Mac
Miller passing away back in twenty eighteen, three men were indicted for supplying the
drugs that killed him. Thanks DemieLafano as well when she had an overdose
one of the times one of thepeople who provided her with those drugs also
got found out in charge. Yeah, so they are still looking into Matthew
Perry's passing. Finally, Tom Hanksis a dad like all the rest of

(21:00):
you, just trying to be cool, and he's not super sure what went
down in the Drake and Kendrick Lamarbeef, so he helped asked for the
help of his son Chet to breakit all down. Chat, who of
course would consider himself a rap artistas well, actually shared a hilarious text

(21:21):
message exchange with his movie star dadand it says, Pops, big man,
can you explain that Drake Kendrick Lamarfeud to me? Then? I
mean like seven paragraphs from Chet.He starts out by saying, yeah,
so Drake and this other dude,j Cole had been seeing they along with
Kendrick are the big three in rap. Well, then Kendrick put out a
song saying at the big three,it's just big meat initiating the beef.

(21:42):
Then Drake was like, you gotsmall feet because you're like five foot five
or whatever, and then Kendrick waslike, well, you're a deadbeat dad
and made fun of his Canadian accent. Then Kendrick put out a disc overshadowing
Drake's disc. We're pretty much methodicallydismantled Drake's entire psyche. He goes through
this whole thing only to have aresponse from Tom Hanks. It says,
holy cow, these are fighting words, people taking sides, who's winning and

(22:04):
shit, responding with did you notjust read what I said? Wow?
It is so perfect read to thisentire text exchange. Tom must be so
completely lost in this thing. Itis ultimate dad mode. I've got it
up for you with your scoop atWest Michigan Star dot Com. It's back
at spitting In. It is timeto battle Battle of the sex Is.

(22:25):
It's a big one because it landsyou at game three tomorrow night for our
Grand Rapids Griffins in the Quest fora Calder Cop. Yeah, they take
on Milwaukee. This is the rivalryyou dream about. Number one answer,
and you've got those Griffins playoff tickets. One hundred women surveyed name an actor
that's played James Bond. This willbe hard because you got to come up

(22:48):
with that number one answer. Iwas gonna see how many different James Bond
can you name? Probably four, maybe five. I think that's I think
five is like, is that alright? I think I think it's either five
or six, But I know offive for sure in my head. And
everyone's gonna forget about Timothy Dalton. No, he was on my legs.
He's on your list? Which onedoes he get enough credit? Which one's
doing it for you? I willforever be a Pierce Brasman. Is it

(23:11):
the accent? It's just everything. He's a distinguished debonair gentleman. That it
was is exactly who should be makingmy Martinez. He likes it. Shaken
that stir all right? Six one, six, four, five, eight,
one oh five seven. One hundredwomen surveyed name an actor that's played
James Bond. Need that number oneanswer caller seven, first shot. You
could be headed to Griffin's playoff hockeytomorrow night to Van Andel with star Win

(23:34):
on five point seven, Good morningstar. Who's it, Jennifer? Jennifer?
Where you come from today? I'magain, h Jennifer. Let's see
if we can get you into someplayoff hockey. You gotta tell me.
One hundred women were asked to namean actor who's played James Bond. But

(23:56):
it's not just any accurate you gottagive me what you think those women gave
as their top answer, Jennifer, what why Bronson? Going with Pierce Bronson?
Yes, whether it's classic roles likethe parent Trap with of course Lindsay
Lohan, or is James Bond unmistakable? However, Pierce is the number three

(24:18):
answer, Jennifer, I'm sorry,Oh, thank you, thank you,
good morning star. Who's this?I'm sorry? What's your name? Jeremiah,
Hi, Jeremiah. One hundred womenwe're asked to name an actor played
who's played James Bond and to giveme their top answer. I just heard

(24:38):
from Jennifer who gave me Pierce Bronson. She and Schmidty are both fans there,
but that was not the top answers. You got a chance here.
What do you think it is?Jeremiah. Daniel Craig. Daniel Craig the
most recent James Bond, but he'sall done playing the character. However,
once you're a Bond, always aBond, and Daniel Craig's the top answer.
You're going to see drift play offhockey. Jeremiah, congratulations, thank

(25:06):
you, Yes, it was DanielCraig, followed by the one and only
I'm surprised that he didn't get guessed. Sean Connery is the was the number
two most common answer, followed byPierce Bronson, then Roger Moore and Timothy
Dalton rounding out those top answers. But you're gonna be there tomorrow night,
Jeremiah rooting on those Grand Rapids Griffins. You better be loud, sir.

(25:26):
You got it all right, andstarting tomorrow we'll get you into Fridays Game
four matchup. Hopefully it's the onewhere the Griffins will be ending that series,
another chance to win eight to fifteenBattle of the Sexes. Here on
Star sim Morning Tier, it's Mackand Schmiddi and let's talk about a food
streak. I want to know whatis the food that you ate no breaks,

(25:51):
consistently every day for a stretch oftime. You know, I think
when I was pregnant, I hada huge craving for trust gits. It's
really funny you say that, because, by and large, when I talked
about this with my wife, whenI put this message up on our Facebook,
pregnancy cravings are massive, massive, all about it, where you could
find yourself in a rhythm for monthsand months on end. Yeah, lyman

(26:11):
cilantro truscuits in garlic hummas. Ibrought this up because my son is currently
on a pizza streak that he isdesperate to keep going. It's just been
sort of random, like he hada he was over at a friend's house
last Thursday, had some pizza.Friday. My daughter wanted it Fridays or
sometimes our pizza night, like probablyevery other week. We do pizza on

(26:33):
Fridays, so we had some onFriday and he was cool with that.
Saturday, he had a birthday party. Guess with day eight, they had
some pizza. Sunday he had leftoverpizza. Yesterday he ate some of that
for lunch after school before going tohis baseball game, and he's been talking
about it non stew I enjoy youryouth, man, because you pull that
after twenty and you're gonna have elevatedcholesterol and heart problems. I'm just trying

(26:56):
to slide in some vegetables here andthere to get it or green. It's
only been it's only been for onemeal in each of those days. But
he is all about this, andhe is trying to find ways to increase
the length of his streak because hecould have that option at school for his
school lunches. They've of course gotthose wonderfully delicious square pizza that you can't
be duplicated anywhere else waiting for himthere. So he's like, oh,

(27:17):
yeah, I'm giving I could notdo pizza that much. Really, know,
of all foods, I know whatfood you could do though, you
could do tacos. You know what, though the longs I've gone taco is
four days and then I and thenI guess sake of them? I God,
yeah, I can't. No,I gotta switch it up. See
for me, I was trying tothink of like where I have gone on
this and I we could only thinkof like that diet that we did just
a couple of years back. Ihad a green apple every single morning for

(27:41):
twenty eight straight days. Oh,we're talking diets. I did a juice
cleanse, and I had lukewarm lemonwater for forty two mornings straight. And
ask my co workers at the time, they absolutely hated working with me every
moment of that. How about thisone though we did talk about pregnancy a
little bit. I got give itup for Katie. I ate chef Boyer

(28:03):
d b Ravioli for weeks on endfor breakfast, lunch, and dinner while
pregnant. It really wasn't anything Iever liked. Someone was eating it in
a break room and it smelt sogood. The spaghetti and meatballs by Chef
Boyardy are super good. I justlike this now. I won't touch it.
Ate so much as you scarred forlife from Chef boy or d you
can't have it. How many ofyou have been pregnant and cannot touch anything

(28:26):
you ate during that pregnancy? AFeelia Way and on Facebook AT's West Michigan

on Portage Northern, and while itis a highly anticipated rivalry game, both

(29:11):
had coaches talked with their teams anddecided they could do something even bigger for
their community. Thrilled to tell WoodTV this is a new partnership they are
loving. Obviously, we just hada terrible storm come through Portage last week
and there's a lot of people thatare suffering. So we discussed what can
we do as a community, asa Portage community to be able to raise
funds for those that were affected bythese terrible storms. Being able to capitalize

(29:36):
on that attendance have a bigger communityeffort to raise funds for those affected by
the Tornados's fantastic opportunity for us,and it was a massive community effort.
Amazing funds raised, both cash andonline donations going to the Kalamazoo Community Urgent
Relief Fund as well as the PortageCommunity Center which is assisting with storm recovery.

(29:57):
This is huge and it went sowell. Both Portage Central Booster President
and Portage Northern President said it's happeningagain. We look forward to what the
future will bring with that in everyway that we can do to support both
the teams, both schools programs, but again the bigger community as well.
Well. Done to everyone in Portagethat community has stepped up in such a

(30:18):
big way. Yeah, you canalways count on those West Michigan people to
just come out and support their communities. Love to see it all, right,
Jndy, this is actually really coolabout a story I didn feeling good
back in February. As a matterof fact, you might remember a bus
driver who went viral. His nameis Larry Ferrish Junior, and the reason
he went viral is because on aschool day that many parents here in West

(30:40):
Michigan can relate to during Spirit Week, you know, we have pajama Day.
Well, one of the kids onhis bus was looking pretty downcast and
when Larry asked him why, hefound out it was because he didn't have
pajamas for that day's pajama day.Well, so he, after finishing the
drop off, went to the storebought that child a pair of pajama so

(31:00):
that he wouldn't feel left down, plus an extra pair for any other kids
in the class that might have foundthemselves in the same situation. Now,
let's flash forward to just this weekwhere that ripple effect of his generosity on
full display. Because word of thatstory made it all the way to New
York City. They're back to Louisville, Kentucky from EJ's Pjs and they drove

(31:22):
all the way from New York justto surprise the entire school staff and teachers
as well with over three hundred pairsof pajamas. Schmiddy, this is cool.
Ejspj is, in addition to havingjust an awesome name for a business
in general, also tries to helpkids with pajamas that are in less fortunate
areas. So this was right upthere, Alley, and they love seeing

(31:44):
Larry's generosity. And now Larry justis so amazed that something so small could
turn into something so big, ashe explained to Whas and Louisville, something
so small as pajamas that you wouldoverlook. It feels amazing, you know,
to know that this one as faras New York and were able to
bless three hundred kids. You know, I just blessed one. I started

(32:04):
with two pairs. I started withjust two pair of pajamas, and now
three hundred students gap pajamas. Oh, definitely gonna be loaded up for that
next Bejama Day when Spirit Week rollsaround again. But really cool to see.
I'll put the video up for you. West Michigan Star dot com but
