Sneaking up on you if you enjoyed that long Memorial
Day weekend. But either way, here we go into the
rest of this week and it starts kind of wet
out there in some areas as we're seeing some stray
showers here and there. That'll be happening throughout the day,
especially into the afternoon hours with highs. I get up
into the mid sixties.

It's not too bad out there, chillier than yesterday.

Yesterday it was just beautiful though.

We got out last night for a softball game, and
you know, when the weather is nice, it's just so
much funnier because everyone's nicer.

Like one immediately is like, how you doing? How is
that Memorial Day weekend?

I mean it's Michigan or science Like, obviously it's also
really nice if the wind wasn't blowing a percent. Movies,
music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Sad news announced yesterday guitar icon and legendary performer Rick
Darrenger passing away actually on Memorial Day at seventy seven,
his heart suddenly giving out. Rick's longtime wife said he
died peacefully after being taken off life support on Monday
following a medical episode. His caretaker and close friend said

he had triple bypass a couple months ago, but was
doing really, really well, seemed totally fine over the weekend.
Monday night, as he was getting ready for bed, he
went into what he described as some sort of shock
and then later passed away at a hospital in Ormond Beach, Florida.
You would know so many of his hits. He was
with the McCoys and did hang On Sloopy. He teamed

up with Steely, Dan Kiss, Alice Cooper, Weird Hell, Cyndi Lauper,
even Barbara streisand he's the rock and roll hoochie Coop.
He also did the anthem real American that we've heard
used so many times. Again only seventy seven years.

Old, it's too young. He was a musician's musician for sure.
But I think of the song hang On Sloopy because
when I was a kid. I truly thought it was
hang on, Snoopy.

Britney spears one step closer to debuting her first ever
jewelry line. She's talked about this a bit on social
Britney's team filing official paperwork yesterday with the US Patent
and Trademark Office. They say the filing has met all
the minimum requirements, they're just awaiting review. Sources close to
Britney say the main motivation was to prevent others from

jumping on the Britney name, and she wanted to bring
her own vision to life. Now there's no official launch
date yet, but they are hoping this line will be
out very very soon. The line will just be jewelry.
Britney plans to be super involved in the design process
and already has a bunch of things figured out, which,
at least according to people that have seen it as

really really good stuff.

Well, and when you look around at other people's jewelry lines,
I'm sure Britney sees Rihann and was like.

That and perfume. Finally, this is a pretty terrifying video
that has been circulating on social media SpaceX's Starship experiencing
what they're calling a quote rapid unscheduled disassembly during a
test flight yesterday. If that doesn't freak you out, the
craft successfully reached orbit. However, an apparent propellant leak after

the craft entered that trajectory caused a loss of altitude.
The spacecraft was spinning with mission control unable to get
a hold of it.

Is a contingency that is planned for, and we clear
the zones in the Indian Ocean where these entries could
take place, So we're not going to come down exactly
where we would have had nothing happened, but we do
clear a tremendous amount of space out in the Indian
Ocean any event that we run into this. You always

we understand that there are always risks essentially with these
flight tests with the hardware, but we don't really accept
any compromise when it comes to protecting people.

So this is being said as you're watching the video
of this thing just spinning rapidly out of control, so
I don't know if it was the most comforting thing.

tigers versus a squirrel, You'd think it'd be a pretty
one signed decision. But yesterday during the Detroit Tigers game
against the Giants at Killmerica, bark Is a black squirrel
got loose on the field. You know you've seen things
like this before, but I love it when it happens.

I mean, who doesn't want a funny animal video to
happen in the middle of their baseball game. But as
the uh as the announcers were making Rocky and bow
wigle jokes, the squirrel kept making its way to the
bullpen where relievers Tyler Holton was there and you know what.
He was not a fan of the squirrel. As you'll

This is the senior prank of all senior pranks. Bullets.
Central High School in Louisville, Kentucky had a Senior Prank
Day where it was a parade of younger siblings. The
school shared video of students streaming into school holding hands
with brothers and sisters half their age. And if you
didn't maybe have a sibling that could make it, you

brought your pet. There were cats and dogs, even a
chicken and a baby goat complete with a diaper. This
report from w d RB said the school was so
touched it was a.

Sweet, chaotic reminder the school is a family affair. The
school thanked the seniors for the smiles and said they
earned their spot in the prank Hall of Fame.

Assistant principal Christy Burr said the prank was a perfect

creative and positive senior prank ever. They filled the halls

Actor Kevin Costner has been named in a sexual harassment
lawsuit filed by a stunt performer who alleges she was
subjected to an unscripted assault scene on the set of
Horizon and American Saga Chapter two. This went down in
twenty twenty three. Her name is Devin Labella. She says
that she was the victim of a violent, unscripted, unscheduled

scene directed by Kevin Costner. She also includes the production
company as defendants in the suit. She issuing for an
undisclosed amount and wants a trial by jury. Labella says
she was hired as a stunt double for lead actress
Ella hunt Now under a SAG agreement. She says SAG
does not allow for any last minute requests for nudity

or simulated intimacy. Producers are required to give a forty
eight hour notice to get the performer's permission. Plus Hunt's
specific contract required her to have a coordinator for all
intimacy scenes. Labella alleges that she was not given any
of that, and there were so many terrible things that
happened with this it needed to be brought to the spotlight.

Wow, I mean, yeah, you wouldn't. Honestly, I think it's
odd that a stunt double is used for some of
those scenes. Honestly, I think that parts we are right.

Apparently there is and if you don't recognize SAG, that's
the Screen Actors Guild, which is the union that all
performers usually are a part of. And she said that
that is a very very big part of the rule
and they did not follow that at all. On seeing
Kevin has not spoken out about this. President Trump is
planning to issue full pardons for chrisly Knows Best reality
stars Todd and Julie Chrisly. The reality couple has been

serving time after being convicted of financial crimes. Back in
twenty twenty two. They were both found guilty on federal
charges of bank fraud and tax evasion. Todd was sentenced
to twelve years. Julie was sentenced to seven in federal lockup.
Trump calling Todd and Julie's daughter Savannah to give her
the good news.

before they're totally free. An attorney for the reality couple
said President Trump recognized what we've argued from the beginning.
Todd and Julie were targeted because of their conservative values
and high profile. Their prosecution was tainted by multiple constitutional

violations and political bias. Now, if you were listening to
my scoop on Friday, you will know how perfectly timed
because their reality show kicks off this fault.

I was just gonna ask if there was anything possible
that could be included in a pardon that would also

Lindsay Lohan is of course on the big press tour
for Freaky or Friday, the sequel everyone is really really
excited for. And man, she is not your typical gild

nice seven year old that has absolutely no idea what
technology used to look like was very humbling for Lindsay

across the pond in the UK called in Grand Rapids,
Michigan one of the best places to travel in the

nine spots. We beat out Yellowstone, Maui and Orlando, Florida.

Okay, that's the part. I love West Michigan. I love
Grand Rapids. When you're thinking of an international perspective of
the United States, how do we beat Yellowstone?

I think they both were more affordable and honestly, we
were talking about this on my other show and they said,
lately like, have you have you been out and around
Grand Rapids. I feel like we have so many international
travelers since COVID, like I think it has exploded here.
And they bring up some of our spots. They talk
about the Frederick Meyer Gardens, the John Ball Zoo, our

Children's Museum, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum. They even
point out out Millennium Park. They're like, this place is stunning.
Plus you get the city and they point out hook
Plus we are to Lake Michigan.

largest city parks in the entire country.

I think if I was telling somebody on another plant,
you know, on the other side of the world, where
I wanted to go in Michigan, Torch Lake, like just
go see something crazy like Torch Lake and or Higgins
Lake up north to I just think those areas that
are beyond our great lakes, because those are self explanatorily awesome.

See I say, slaving Beer Dunes over Torch Lake. Torch
Lake I think is a little teeny, maybe baby bit
overhyped for me. I'm like, okay, people go, because then
you know you're gonna be dealing with the crowds. You're
going to be dealing with everyone that's out on the boat.
Like a Torch Lake is gorgeous. Yes, I prefer it
in the fall and winter.

day where you kind of just get to feel like

Empire Beach that's a really, really good one. And then

really feeling. And I agree. I think Whitefish Point is

Good morning to you. It's Mac and Schmidty and Wednesdays
we're making you feel better about your own parenting skills
with ours. I've talked about this before, Schmidty. One of
my favorite memories as a kid is the rare occasions
that my parents would let me drive the car down
our driveway. We had a longer driveway, so it started
when we were you know, little kids, and you get

to sit on your parents' lap, you know, do the
wheel thing.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
Also grew up in northern Michigan. I feel like that's
important to say.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
It's true.

It was a dirt driveway, if I'm being honest with you.
It was still not paved by the way, but I
thought it was just such a cool thing, and it
was one of my fondest memories as a kid, just
something little that you did with your parents that made
you feel so big. So I've done it with my
kids lots of times. But they're too big now for
the lamp. So we live on just a little private street,
so you're only got to go twenty miles an hour

or whatever. And so when I picked them up from
the bus, I will occasionally let them drive, but I
don't let them usually pull into the garage because because
it's a little true.

Right. Oh, my daughter's twelve, getting older, and she and know,
she's getting.

A little bored with just driving down the street and
pulling into the driveway. So she's like, Dad, can I
park it? And I was like, yeah, just let me
get out first. Okay, I'll get out so I can
guide you into the front. So she's she does it.
She pulls the car in very successfully, and I say, okay,
now you just have to you have to push on
the brake and put the you know, car into park. Well,
what comes before park. Yeah, I'm aware the reverse. Yep,

she did it in the reverse and she didn't hit
the gas or anything, so it just automatically goes backwards.
She comes backwards and she just starts screaming, panicking. Hit it,
like turning the wheel, and she slowly rolls back into
like the side of the garage like door that is
thankfully supported by brick on the outside of the house.
No damage, little ding, little ding on the garage door frame.

I feel like this is a perfect opportunity.

her mom's in there, and she's like, hey, mom, I

years old and I still can't parallel park. Don't worry

Yeah, I'm not sure you're getting this job back. A
new scandal with the Secret Service, two agents have been
sidelined after literally getting into a fight while they were
supposed to be protecting former President Barack Obama's house and
it was all caught on video. Footage has been all
over social media since yesterday showing two uniform Secret Service

agents getting into a physical altercation while standing next to
a white SUV. I've seen the video, this physical altercation.
It is a full on fight.

Is there secret Service agent? And there was probably a.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Very good service The incident happened outside Obama's home in DC.
The Secret Service has given a statement saying they're aware
of an on duty altercation that occurred between two uniformed
division officers at two point thirty in the morning back
on May twenty first, but dad the individuals were suspended
from duty. This matter is the subject of an internal investigation.

The Secret Service has a very strict code of conduct
for all employees, and any behavior that violates that code
is unacceptable.

Seems like a pretty one sided fight. Just watched the
video right here, and it seems.

Shaboozi is definitely holding on to the fact that he
didn't exactly love what was said at the AMAS on
Monday night. So here's the deal. He was alongside country
star Megan Moroney. The duo was handing out favorite Country
Duo or Group at the AMAS, but Megan started reading
off the teleprompter talking about how country has always been
a part of AMA history, and she casually said the

award once went to a folk music group who basically

The very first year of this show, the award for
Favorite Male Country Artists went to the Great Charlie Pride.
That same year, Favorite Female Artists went to Lynn Anderson,

are very impressive and include a few of our.

Carter Family showing listen, this is actually something that should

be talked about because once again we're kind of rewriting
the history of country and taking on some very important people.

You know, And he's not wrong about that. But at
the same time, when this happened, SCHMITTI, when I saw
this yesterday, I honestly believed Shaboozi thought they were talking
about Beyonce's family.

I thought I thought he believed no, talking about.

Ud Carter's as in as Beyonce's family, like she had
just won a bunch of country awards.

Well, no, I don't think he thought they did, like
an explanation ahead of time. Yeah, no, no, no. Finally,
the Harry Potter TV series dropping a major casting bombshell.
We now know the main three. The first photos of
Alistair Stout as Ron Weasley talk about a British name,
Arabella Stanton stepping into Hermione's shoes, and Dominic McLaughlin stepping

up as Harry Potter himself. These are relatively fresh faces.
I actually don't recognize them from much and they are
ready for this highly anticipated They join like John Lithgow
who's going to be playing Albus Dumbledore. And we are
still working and that official drop date, but HBO says
this is going to be an incredible series that will
introduce a new generation to the love of Harry Potter.

And I hope that people give these kids some grace,
because sometimes when people are so passionate about an original thing,
like they were about Harry Potter, they just trash anything
that comes afterwards. So I just hope these kids are
ready for it.
