Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mack and Schmitty in the morning on West Michigan's Christmas
station Star one oh five point seven. Well, hello there, Schmitty, Hello,
how we do it?
Speaker 2 (00:10):
We are upright, And that's about all I can guarantee
you today, But thank you for the messages and well wishes.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
I spent an intense couple of days.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
People were wondering if you ran off with Santa Claus
to the North Pole. I got several messages that were like, hey,
I can't help, but notice Schmitty was there with you,
hanging out. Santa Claus is there and then boomah gone.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Turns out prendizone actually masks the true symptoms. Yeah, since
I'm not really a hipoperson anyway, pneumonia and pertussis because
apparently people in twenty twenty four still get whooping cough.
So I was actually horrendously sick the last few days.
I'm not contagious anymore, but I am, honestly on let
(00:56):
me see four or five different mets, and we're just
we're we're flying. We're flying at an altitude I can't
even describe. I said it to my coworker Stone Hall.
I'm medicated in deep today, so it should be a
great show.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Well, no doubt, if you've got kids, you have heard
a ton of Sabrina Carpenter dominating the charts this year.
But the pop star not just dominating the charts helping
out with voting. She was just found to be headcounts
top celebrity engaging new voters. The nonpartisan organization works with
(01:40):
entertainers to get young people registered to vote. Announced Sabrina
is responsible for increasing voter registration by thirty five thousand,
eight hundred and fourteen people. In addition to helping voters
with registration, had also indicated through giveaways, postcards, and in
person activations. Part of her shortened Sweet album tour, Carter engaged.
(02:05):
Carpenter engaged an additional two hundred and sixty three thousand
voters with things like checking your registration status and finding
your polling location. Top out of any other.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Celebrity, No doubt that her star is burning hot right now.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Oh she's so good, I love it.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Obviously, Another star burning hot Taylor Swift, whose brother Austin
is being applauded for how he handled security with a fan.
Of course, Taylor wrapping up shows in Indianapolis over the weekend,
but this TikTok just went viral yesterday showing a fan
wearing a Travis Kelcey costume trying to get the attention
of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who was in
(02:47):
the VIP section of the stadium.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
You can kind of hear.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Security is coming up to this world who's walking towards
the VIP section and they're like, whoa, this isn't allowed.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Step off. No, no, no, no, no no, and.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Start to put their hands on her to physically remove her.
When Taylor's brother Austin comes out and says, oh, hey, hey, guys, guys, guys, guys,
we don't need to put hands on anyone.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
What's going on?
Speaker 2 (03:17):
What's up, and then kind of diffuses the whole situation
by telling the fan, listen, it's your head covering. She
had a football helmet on. He's like, can't really do that,
but listen, it's a cool costume. The fan's like, oh,
I'm sorry, I didn't realize, and he's like, all good,
We're all good. Talk to security. Securities like We're good.
The girl went back to her seat and he said, hey,
what's your name. I'm gonna go ahead and let Travis
(03:38):
now he had a great costume, being seriously applauded for
the situation.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
I just like the Taylor Swifts brothers getting a little
bit of love. I couldn't even tell you the guy's
name until today.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
You are not on the Austin Swift side of TikTok
because he gets plenty of love.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
Don't you worry.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Finally, Nellie, recently celebrating his Big five zero in Vegas
alongside wife Ashanti, is teasing a possible Sins City residency
and fans.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
Are going wild over this. So the couple, who of.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Course got married last December before welcoming their first child
back in July, have apparently been in talks for a
residency for quite a while. When asked, Nellie said, it's
funny you say that there were talks not too long
ago about that very thing. I'm not gonna say too
much more, but hopefully everything continues the course. I love Vegas.
(04:34):
She loves Vegas. We both love Vegas for very different reasons. However,
he did stay kind of quiet. I whether this would
be like a Nelly residency, or if Nelly and Ashanti
would actually co headline together for this, which I think
would be amazing.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Imagine one of those massive Vegas clubs bringing out Nelly
and Ashanti like once a weekend to just make people
lose their minds.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
So good, so good, all of your scoop at West
Michigan Star dot.
Speaker 5 (04:59):
Com sometimes because I'd get.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
A good feeling.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Yeah, well, let's split a little positivity into this Wednesday morning.
It's start one a fine points seven mac and Spitty
was feeling good right now. And you know mail carriers
and rain in sleet and snow and then sunshiny weather,
they're delivering the mail, and this one saving lives at least.
On Halloween, I see, Morgan Osborne was out trigger treating
(05:25):
with her three year old daughter and had given her
little one a hard candy after a trunk or treat events. Well,
driving down the road was mail carrier Candy young And
who happened to see Morgan suddenly start waving her arms
frantically in a total panic. So Candy pulled over her
(05:45):
mail vehicle and quickly took control of the situation. She
saw the little one was turning purple, foaming at the mouth,
so she performed the Heimlich maneuver, successfully dislodged the candy
and held the baby until she started gasping for breath.
They were able to get emergency services there, but all
because of Candy's quick action, this tragedy was just avoided.
(06:07):
She credits her quick response to instincts. As a mom
of two herself, she'd learned CPR and highly training when
one of her kids was actually in the nick qu
after birth there, so just while that that's where she
got the skills from. But immediately getting accolades for her
heroism the Postmaster General Heroes Program, immediately honoring her as
(06:29):
they do with postal workers for exceptional acts in their community.
But Morgan's just grateful because she still got her baby girl.
As she explained to by nine News.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
We did get to text each other and I did
let her know how grateful I am for her, and honestly,
like she saved my child's life.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
Pretty incredible.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Man.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
If you're out at the polls yesterday, did you see
any DJs. I know that there were quite a few
work in the polling places around the Grand Rapids area.
It's all thanks to a nonpartisan organization call DJ at
the Polls and it's pretty sweet.
Speaker 6 (07:05):
Shaman, DJ Phil one of these DJ shrek.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
DJs showed up to more than eighty five hundred polling
sites across the country. Their goal to encourage people to vote,
but more importantly, entertain them while doing so. DJ's also
wanted to serve a reminder to everyone, whether they cast
a ballot or not, having a democracy is something.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
We need to celebrate.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
I saw videos pop up from Grand Rapids, Lancing, and
the Detroit area. In fact, over six hundred DJs stationed
at Michigan polling locations. Really cool stuff if you want
to learn more, By the way, because I mean what
we'll have election's got another couple of years. DJs at
Thepolls dot org. It's all volunteer and you can sign up.
(07:55):
Really really cool stuff.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Now I'm super disappointed that I didn't have a DJ
at my polling p Where was the.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
Dance Volunteer yourself next time there you go.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Nobody wants there.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
They could bring the Christmas music, you.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
Guys, there we go. That actually would make people feel
nice and jolly's they were casting their votes. We're here
to do that all season long for you on Star
win oh five point seven West Michigan's Christmas Dation.
Speaker 4 (08:15):
Movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
It's the celebrities gooop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Well, of all the votes cast yesterday or absentee ahead
of time, Diddy may have been one of them. The
Bad Boy Records founder currently still locked up at the
Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn awaiting his criminal trial, but
not having been convicted yet, he still has the right
to vote, and in fact, the big wigs at the
Federal Bureau of Prisons, which operates the Brooklyn prison that
(08:46):
did he is in, says did he can vote in
the election using an absentee ballot mailed from the federal jail.
He would simply have to request that absentee ballot and
then could vote in the state where he's registered, which
would be Florida or California. But very interesting. Diddy's camp
has stayed very mum on the topic and issued a
no comment when people have asked whether or not he
(09:08):
did indeed cast a vote yesterday.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
I mean I want him to just, I guess, go
into a hole.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
At this point in time, like a lot of people
think that, Yeah, maybe he wouldn't have had the time
as he gears up for this big trial, which by
the way, is tentatively scheduled for this upcoming May. Martha
Stewart's criticism of Ryan Reynolds off camera persona is not
the entire story if you missed it. She joined a
very fun show called Rent Free where she played the
(09:38):
game and actually made this comment about Ryan Reynolds not
being the funny guy off camera.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
We all think he is Reynolds.
Speaker 7 (09:45):
To see one of those any one of those something.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
He's not so funny in real wi. No, he's not
so funny. He's very serious. Brad pitt On, George Quene See,
I'd like to hang out with those guys.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
It's interesting.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
So its is close to Ryan and say he was
a little caught off guard by that. But the actor
has made no secret about his anxiety and racing mind,
which means sometimes he shuts down around people a sort
of says he just likes being quiet in fact, over
being on all the time. And while Martha had a
(10:19):
pretty strong take about the Deadpool and Wolverine star, she
still says he seems like a really nice dude, and
while the two of actually only hung out a couple times,
is probably pretty great even though she thinks he gets
the funny moniker falsely.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
I feel like there's a lot of you know, seemingly
extroverted people they come across as really funny that when
they're kind of just by themselves or with just a
couple of people they're close with, they kind of do
that they shut down a little bit.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
And I think that's everyone in a public in a
public spotlight job. Yeah, we actually, like all can't stand
this and it makes us really really anxious to have
to do things.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
Yeah, finally, Oh my goodness.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
I know that the trailer technically came out a few
days ago, but I saw so many people sharing it yesterday,
probably as a little breather from everything election. But get ready,
because we're only a couple weeks away from Lifetime's new
Christmas movie inspired by Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey, Christmas
in the Spotlight, giving us some new material to take
(11:21):
a look at what the storyline will be all about.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
She's ask heare out? I got what every chance with her?
Speaker 2 (11:29):
I'm drew her big fans?
Speaker 4 (11:30):
Am I supposed to know who he is, She's the
best receiver in the world.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
Get his number.
Speaker 7 (11:35):
It's I want to see you again her on the
movie Regular People Christmas.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
In the Spotlight November twenty third on Lifetime.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
I saw so many people sharing this yesterday.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Can you hear the cringe through the radio?
Speaker 3 (11:50):
I can't.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
I can only hear holly jolly, fabulousness and Lifetime cashing
those checks all of your celeb scoop, including the new
trail for that Lifetime movie at West Michigan Star dot Com.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Good morning to you, Mac and Schmidty. The morning after
election Day, and I know.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Like a lot of people love election Day. A lot
of people love voting in person. I know we heard
like crazy numbers of absentee ballot voting early voting. A
lot of people are talking about how there were not
lines at their polling places yesterday because so many people
early voted. But I am someone that loves doing it
(12:29):
day of I find it to be just such a
cool thing to go and fill out your bubbles. And
I had the weirdest experience yesterday. Good I'm just not
sure why it happened. So I went to a brand
new polling place because my family and I moved to
Rockford earlier this year.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
And wow was it nice.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
Mahogany desks, comfortable shares. Like, y'all, I've been voting in
a cafagematorium for the last ten years at a local school.
So like Chris and I walk in there together, I'm like, oh,
this is you heard that TikTok sound that was like,
this is nice. Like I'm just overw like this is
so great. The polling workers. Can we really quick give
(13:14):
a shout out to our election workers? Oh my gosh,
it's all volunteer. They were so lovely. So I'm sitting
down in my comfortable chair, green velvet, i believe, and
I was filling out my ballot. This has never happened
before in any of the places I've ever voted. Someone
put their ballot in and one of the election workers said,
this is a first time voter. She's never voted in
(13:38):
an election. And all the election workers stood up and cheered.
They had cowbells they were ringing, and everybody in the
room was like taking a second to clap. This girl
was clearly like super moved. She was really excited.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
I've never had that happen.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
I saw her for the first time yesterday and it
was for like an eighteen or nineteen year old girl,
and she immediately was like, oh my god, I can't.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Yeah, no, this was like an older woman. It was
really really cool show. So I turned back to my
ballot and I looked down.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
I'm like, what is that? Oh my god, I started crying.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
I started crying over my ballot, and I'm like, it
is moving. I get really excited because they did say
that there seemed to be a lot of first time
voters showing up for this election. But tears, and then
I realized, I don't think it's because of this woman
being a first time voter.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
I love that for her. She's so excited. I think
I am so drugged up right now.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
I have no idea what's going on, because if you
guys missed it, I've been gone the last two days
because apparently in twenty twenty four, you can still get
pertussis and pneumonia. I have both, as well as a
severe sinus infection that's hard to do well. Apparently the
steroids last week were simply masking the real problem.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
So I have got myself all medicated.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
I've got all my votes written down on a piece
of paper.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
I'm like, I just gonna go in and fill the bubbles.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
And I'm thinking, I'm either crying because I'm just so
excited to be part of democracy, or I'm crying because
I think the drugs are finally working and I can
breathe out of both nostrils.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
You know, even if it's the latter, let's pretend it's
the former, all right.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
It was such a weird experience.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
So if you've never voted on antibiotics, I highly suggest it.
It's a totally different experience.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
I don't care how patriotic you think you are, You're
not as patriotic as bawling over your ballad Schmidty over here.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
The only other time I got close to tears was
when the election worker told me I could have all four.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
Of the new voting stickers. I was like, this is
the greatest day of my life.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Yes, we'll talk about that later on, but man, those stickers,
those stickers are seriously cool.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
Man, Michigan is the greatest sticker place in the country.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
The Barn and TiO, It's Mack and Schmitty. And you know,
the holidays approaching, offering even more opportunities to screw up
not like we needed it, but it's another.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
I don't think I did any screwing up here.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
I think it's just that my daughter has a very
specific way of taking in knowledge around her. So we
obviously went and voted yesterday. My husband and I voted day.
We really enjoyed doing that. And you've seen the I
voted stickers that were designed by kids across Michigan. They
had like the cool buck, They've got the awesome Ope.
I voted, and they've got the cat. And so I
(16:19):
grabbed the buck one because I knew my son would
really enjoy that, and Chris grabbed the cat because my
three year old daughter, Sophia is very into.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
Cats right now for some reason.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
And so we get home and she's with my mother
in law and he gave her the sticker and she goes.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
And she just immediately put it right on her clothes.
She was so excited. We facetimed my mom and dad
so she could show them the sticker.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
It was great.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
Her brother gets home from school and they talked about
the election at school yesterday, just kind of what voting
is and all that, and he goes, Sophia, do you
know who mom and Dad voted for and oh my gosh,
clearest day I hear her go this Kenny.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
Cats democracy and action right there.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
I have no problems at all. Yes, I voted for
the cat.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
You know what, I don't think that you're the only
one who went for the stickers there yesterday sh middie.
Speaker 4 (17:14):
Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
Man, I feel like I need to issue a little warning.
Are Tom Hanks has a little bit of a potty
mouth defending his work against those people who get paid
to review his films. The Oscar winner teed off on
movie critics during quite an epic rant on Codin O'Brien's podcast.
One movie that sticks out to Tom the ninety six
(17:44):
film That Thing You Do. It was Tom's debut as
a screenwriter and director, and while it got bad reviews
at first, it's now considered a cult classic. And Tom
points to one Freddick, who ripped that film and is
now doing a complete one eighty.
Speaker 6 (17:59):
Let me tell you something about these gus who write
for about movies.
Speaker 8 (18:03):
Can I say that somebody somebody somebody who somebody who
wrote about it is is that this is just you know,
Tom Hanks has to stop hanging around with veterans of
TV because this is just like the shot on TV
and it's not much of anything.
Speaker 6 (18:18):
You know. That same person then wrote about the cult
classic that thing you do, same exact person. That's all
you need is twenty years between between now and then
and it ends up speaking somewhere. But you know, that's
the thing we all signed up for. That's you know,
that's the carnival.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
I feel so weird hearing what you say. A potty
word it is.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
I was the only reason I did the story.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
I thought he was talking about his new movie with
Robin Wright, you know, Jenny from Forrest Gum, because it
bombed over the weekend, which I can't believe with those
two in.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Christy Cavalari has revealed that Britney Spears reached out to her,
but not for any kind of casual girl old talk.
The singer apparently caught one of Kristen's comments she made
on her podcast Let's Be Honest with Kristin Cavalary.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
She had talked about.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
How she was diving into the conspiracy theories. A big
one is that Britney has a clone. Apparently, Britney found
out and wanted her number in order to discuss.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
That with her. The new podcast, Kristen talked about exactly
what went down when she found herself in that group chat.
Speaker 7 (19:27):
I'm in a group chat with her manager and Britney Spears.
So it went from like being scared to now we're
just like, we're excited, We're all in. And then Justin's like,
you should text her separately on the side, you know,
just like girlfriend and girlfriend.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
I'm like, yeah, great idea.
Speaker 7 (19:40):
So I text her separately and I'm so nice and
I'm like, hey, like, you know, I'm hardly in La anymore.
But when I come in December, I'll let you know.
Because she's like we should hang out and blah blah
blah okay, and then she just never responded, ghosted ooh.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
Didn't end up wanting to hang out with Kristin after all.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
I love the idea of a conversation between two people
to discuss whether or not there's a clone of Yatney Spears, said.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Kristen said the manager called them both icons. She said,
I am teaming up two icons now. Finally, a life
long swifty got what she says, is the surprise of
a lifetime Monday night, when she watched Taylor Swift walk
into Arrowhead Stadium to watch boyfriend Travis Kelsey play. A
(20:27):
TikTok user by the name of Court explains what she thinks.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
Taylor was wearing.
Speaker 6 (20:33):
Let me tell you something about these.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
I'm so glad chat with her.
Speaker 5 (20:40):
Y'all. Taylor Swift was wearing my old jacket the so
story time tonight, we saw Taylor Swift and the pictures
of her coming into the Chiefs game, and my mom
was like, that jacket looks familiar. That looks like the
one you used to have, And so I was like,
did we suck that on eBay? So I checked with
my dad and he was like, yeah, isn't that the
one that went out to California? And I was like,
(21:00):
you're lying. So we checked and it did go to California,
And obviously we would have noticed that it said like
ship to Taylor Swift. And I'm a longtime Swifty. I'm
talking like almost twenty years, but even I don't know
the name of her stylist, and that is who bought
the jacket.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
How wild is that? So this girl had a vintage
Chief's jacket. She said, we checked, we double checked. It's
the exact same kind of jacket. She even had pictures
of her, like the wrinkle lines and everything are in
the same spot. She's like, I can't make this up,
but Taylor Swift is wearing my jacket.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
That's a pretty Chiefs game. Crazy to think about. Like,
one of the wealthiest musicians on the planet is also
rocking a jacket that they got that their stylist got
off of eBay.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
That's for one hundred and sixty nine bucks.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
Yeah, all of your celeb scoop at West Michigan's Star
dot com The Morning Star.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
Who's this Leanney? Leanne? Where are you calling from today?
Speaker 2 (21:51):
I'm crying from doors?
Speaker 1 (21:52):
All right, Leanne, Let's see if we can get you
to Story and Eagle Water Park. You gotta tell me.
When one hundred men were asked to name a cartoon
character it's been associated with Christmas, what did they say?
Is their top answer.
Speaker 5 (22:05):
Is Frosty the Snowman.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
You're going Frosty this Snowman. I can see why you
would guess that man in his top hat with his
corn cob pipe. But that was the number three most
common answer. I'm sorry, sorry anyway, yep, Hi star. Who's
this Danny? Where are you calling from this morning?
Speaker 2 (22:23):
I'm all from Michigan.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
All right here? Well, I just got a great guess
just a moment ago, when a hundred guys were asked
to name a cartoon character often associated with Christmas. I
just heard Frosted who of course, definitely one of them,
but not the top answer. So what do you think
it is? Oh?
Speaker 5 (22:43):
I had two choices.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
I'll go on between them.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
So I'll go with my first gun instinct with the Grinch.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
Going with your first is instinct, which is the Grinch? Well,
let me just ask you then, which of the Grinches
is the best Grinch?
Speaker 8 (22:55):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (22:56):
I really like that recent remake.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
I agree with you one hundred percent, the Benedette Cumberbatch Grinch.
Best Grinch. There is then the original and then that
creepy Jim Carrey one is involved that this is the
top answer. Way to go. Congrats on Lisens, you and
the Krug and I had to Soaring Eagle water Park.
Speaker 3 (23:18):
Congrats, thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
Yeah, that's gonna be a blast this holiday season, and
we're looking to get your family in as well, so
just be listening for our Christmas quize again tomorrow here
on Star one oh five points on good morning to you,
It's Mack and SCHMITTI and of course on this sound
post election day Eve, despite who you voted for, I
hope that you at least expressed to your kids what
an important thing it is, right like just if they
(23:42):
learn it in school. I know my kids had like
their own little votes and things yesterday, but it was
important for my wife and I to bring the kids
with us because we too like to vote in person
on election day, and our kids were excited to come along.
Man didn't work out for me, Schmidty, because this was
the first year I was actually a good voter and
did a sample ballot and like went through and thought
(24:03):
I knew everything, specifically the nonpartisan races, because those are
the ones where you got to do a little more
research and figure out exactly where your ideals align with
what your voting are, all that kind of stuff. So
we go there and I'm I'm totally prepared. My wife
is with me, she's got hers all set to go
to and I get in there and I realize I
(24:24):
have left my phone in my car, And while that
had it all on there in my head. I'm like,
you know what, I did enough before this. I did
enough for the research, the information. I can handle this ballot.
And so I go through the whole process. We get
there and we sit down, and I've got my bubbles,
and I get to the nonpartisan and I get to
one of the judge's positions, and I am completely clueless
(24:46):
as to which one of them I had picked, and
I know that my wife and I had gone through
them together. So my son is standing over by me.
My daughter's on the other side of the room with
my wife, and I'm like, hey, buddy, I need you
to go ask your mom which one of these two
I'm supposed to be all right here? So I've got
my kids running back and forth giving me messages as
(25:07):
to who I'm supposed to vote for in the middle
of the balloty place.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
I like, when you lose the remote control on your
kids find it. That's why we give birth.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
Sometimes I get a good feeling. Let's put some positivity
into your Wednesday morning. Always looking to do that with
feeling good On Stawino fom point seven, what's happened to you? Manning?
All right?
Speaker 2 (25:25):
Mind, short and sweet if you didn't get a chance
to get one of those cute ie voted stickers yesterday,
good news. Starting today you can stop into your local
Secretary of State branch and pick.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
A few out. It includes the I voted.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Yay, I'm cool, I voted the I vote buck, the
I voted lighthouse, the Ope, I voted my personal faves,
the I voted Kittie and the trout, and don't forget
the giant wolf ripping a shirt off with an American
flag behind him reading.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
I voted again.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
I talked to a coworkers that were like, oh man,
they didn't have stickers at my polling place. Well, stop
in Secretary of State, any local branch, maybe bring the
kids along to pick out some stickers today.
Speaker 1 (26:10):
That werewolf one was a hot item. That one they
said was the first one got at my Free Saint yesterday.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Oh, we had a lot of them left at mine. Well,
the buck went big in Rockford, all right.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
So we've done quite a few recovery of lost and
special jewelry stories over the years. I don't know if
I've heard one that goes this far of a distance
or this many years back. Because McMaster University graduate Morgan Piergo.
He recently got an unexpected eighty third birthday gift, and
that was his long lost graduation rank at this shmitty.
(26:41):
He lost it off the coast of Barbados forty seven
years ago, by the way McMaster University. That's in Ontario, Canada.
We're talking thousands of miles away from each other. And
until recently that was just gone. I mean for Morgan,
he had completely forgotten all about it and written it off.
May seven years goes by, while a professional free diver
(27:03):
in Barbados recently found the ring with an underwater metal detector,
reached out to McMaster University, who used the year and
his initials engraved on the ring, was actually able to
trace Morgan back down and give him his ring just
in time for his eighty third birthday. SCHMITTI wow, how
wild is that to think something that you've lost on
(27:24):
the other side of the planet, in a different hemisphere
you're going to get back in Canada almost fifty years later.
Just a wild one for sure. But I always want
to say about something crazy like that, or sharing him
a great story with you with feeling good. We do
it every day. Six forty five and nine twenty here
on Star Winars five point seven Mack and Schmidty in
the morning weekday, starting at six am on Star one
(27:45):
oh five point seven
