Speaker 1 (00:02):
Wakem It gets my day going.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
It makes me lab it Mac and Schmitty in the
morning on Star one of five point seven.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
Well, good morning to you, Schmitty.
Speaker 4 (00:14):
Hey, good morning.
Speaker 5 (00:15):
Kind of feels like the Monday after a Super Bowl,
doesn't it If y'all tried to stay up for that
Lion's game last night?
Speaker 4 (00:21):
A little bleary eyed this morning, I'm sure.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Oh definitely, But staying up after a Super Bowl is
what every Lions fan had dreams of doing after they
went to bed, probably last night, Schmitty. So we're right
there for But even as a Bears fan, you had
to have a good Sunday.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
Yeah, absolutely please.
Speaker 5 (00:37):
I got to sit and have mimosas and eat tons
of food.
Speaker 4 (00:41):
We all had a good Sunday yesterday.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
Well did you think of this cool crisp weekend? We enjoyed?
Speaker 4 (00:46):
Careful? It was wonderful.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
It was kind of fantastic to be able to throw
on like a long sleeve and shorts and just be
out and be not hot, not cold.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
So did you go did you have games on Saturday? I?
Speaker 5 (00:57):
Did I have football game Saturday? I was in a
win her coat on Saturday. Oh woo, no shorts. My
husband wore shorts. Saturday morning we had flag football and
I'll tell you I got a text and he said, hey,
can you bring me pants and my jacket? So it
was definitely crisp if you were like us and had
some of those early morning games.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
But hopefully you enjoyed it because we're back to summer.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
This movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
Well fans were thrilled to see Mariah Carey looking happy
and healthy in an Instagram post yesterday, the first time
she has spoken since announcing her mom and sister passed
away on the same day. Beautiful to hear that voice back, cay.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
To have a pun it.
Speaker 4 (01:53):
Oh fun of that be conning.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
So much to man.
Speaker 6 (02:05):
When you're watching me.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
So what's it gonna be? We's see so China.
Speaker 5 (02:17):
Yeah, that's exciting news because a lot of fans were
concerned that maybe that world tour would be put on
pause for a bit.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
Not the case. She's rehearsing.
Speaker 5 (02:26):
She's ready, saying after a couple of pretty rough weeks,
I am back, ready for China and Brazil very soon.
The cause of death for both her mom and sister
still not.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
Known interesting and well, hopefully, you know, getting back to
work helps or takes her mind off things recover a
little bit.
Speaker 5 (02:43):
Lincoln Park's new lead singer is responding to fan backlash
over her connection to actor Danny Masterson, apologizing for her
association and misjudging the man and the situation. While Emily
Armstrong was he's just announced as the new lead singer
for Lincoln Park a few days ago, She's already dealing
(03:05):
with controversy, writing on Instagram several years ago, I was
asked to support someone I considered a friend at a
court appearance and went to one early hearing as an observer.
Soon after, I realized I shouldn't have. I always tried
to see the good in people, and I misjudged him.
I've never spoken with him since. Unimaginable details emerged and
(03:26):
he was later found guilty. To say it as clearly
as possible, I do not condone abuse or violence against women,
and I empathize with the victims of these crimes we're
pointing out. She never once specifically named Danny Masterson, but
fans started going out her saying like, wait a minute.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
At one point, you.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
Were discussing writing a letter of support for this guy,
and it was especially hard since before his passing, Chester
Bennington talked a lot about being the victim of sexual abuse,
and fans are like, all right, this isn't really jiving
for us. However, Lincoln Park has not said anything about
releasing her from the band. They're still expected to do
(04:04):
the album in the tour.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Somewhere out there. Ashton Kutcher and Mila kuz are like,
give her a chance, guys, give her a break.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
All right.
Speaker 5 (04:11):
Finally new details after that NFL drama you may have
waken up to yesterday morning. Tyreek Hill, one of the
best players for the Miami Dolphins, almost didn't get to
play yesterday.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
Just hours before.
Speaker 5 (04:27):
His game kicked off in Miami, he was pulled over
for what is being called a moving violation, So how
he wound up on the ground in handcuffs is still
being investigated. He did end up making it to the game,
had an incredible game. Here's what he had to say
to CBS about this.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
You know what, I'm not gonna come in on any
of that, man, Like whenever helf.
Speaker 7 (04:49):
Come up, we we're the best in the nation. Man.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
But look like I said, I'm not gonna coming on that.
We're just gonna nake my guns, weak my glass, move
all and learn from it.
Speaker 7 (04:57):
That's it.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
His agent was not happy.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
Most of the big sports talking heads were like, how
did this go so wrong so fast? Well, yesterday evening
it was confirmed. Director of the Miami Dade Police Stephanie
Daniels announced one of the officers in that detainment has
been given administrative duties while internal affairs is now investigating.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Had some Scottie Scheffler vibes, didn't it very much?
Speaker 5 (05:23):
So very much so, all of your celeb scoop at
West Michigan Star dot com.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
Sometimes because I get a good FeelA. Well, let's start
off this week with little extra positivity. Feeling good right now,
I'm start one on five point seven. It's Mack and Schmidty,
And this may happen every year, but I think it's
really important to bring some light onto it because I
am so proud of all the West Michigan community members
and even more so for those first responders and firefighters
(05:51):
who show up for this each and every year. The
Grand Rapids nine to eleven Memorial Stareclimb happened again this
Saturday over at LMCU Ballpark is hundreds of community members
and firefighters gathered to pay tribute to the fallen firefighters
of September eleventh of two thousand and one. There were
over four hundred first responders who passed away on that
(06:13):
day on September eleventh, but most of them were firefighters
by far. A total of three hundred and forty three
firefighters lost their lives on that day, and of course
West Michigan Firefighters community members paying tribute by climbing the
twenty two hundred steps to represent the one hundred and
ten stories of the World Trade Center, not only remembering
(06:34):
the sacrifice of those firefighters in New York, but symbolically
completing that heroic journey to save others. Fire and safety
educator of Plainfield Fire Department Jessica Harrington said, it feels
surreal because we know those firefighters did not have any
elevators to go up. They were climbing one hundred and
ten flights of stairs with packs on and high rise
packs on, just to find those people that needed their help.
(06:59):
So again, the event went this past Saturday. Each participant
receives an honorary badge of one of the fallen heroes
of September eleventh. I think is a really cool touch there,
but big thank you again to everybody who made that possible.
Speaker 5 (07:11):
Yesterday was a very cool moment for US Chicago Cubs
fans as they welcomed two new members into the Cubs
Hall of Fame, pitcher Carrie Wood and third baseman Aramis Ramirez.
And who better to give this surprise than their kids.
Justin Wood and Omas Ramirez Junior were the ones on
(07:34):
hand to surprise their dads with news that they didn't
know was coming.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
Listen to what they had to say.
Speaker 8 (07:39):
When I was growing up, this was your office, and
some days, when I was really lucky, you'd take me
to work.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Before you handled your business on the mat field. Pop
flies in the antlefield.
Speaker 7 (07:54):
We grew up at Rigley, those area.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
It was one instigating.
Speaker 7 (08:01):
It was a place where my dad was a hero
to everyone in the bullpark.
Speaker 5 (08:06):
Okay, so at this point they're absolutely sobbing. They don't
have any way to control it.
Speaker 7 (08:10):
May be known as kid k the Cubs fans, but
you're always dead to me. It's normally your father that
takes your hide and his son. But today ada'm miss Timmnis.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
I'm the one who's.
Speaker 7 (08:23):
Proud of you, Carrie Would.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
I'm proud of you.
Speaker 7 (08:30):
Because you're going into the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 5 (08:37):
It was so cool, it was so cool. I'm gonna
post it up for you at West Michigan Star.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
All right, all right as a Tigers fan, tip of
the cap to you because that was awesome.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
Really, kid's talking about dad since never gets better.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Feeling good coming at you a couple of times to day.
I always want to perk you up a little. Bet,
we're here to do it again this morning, nine twenty.
I start one on five point seven.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Movies, music, and all the guys in one place.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 5 (09:05):
Well, if you stayed up late enough, boy, did you
see an overtime win for our Detroit Lions twenty six
to twenty over the Rams And you could tell this
crowd was unlike one we've ever seen before. Trick Trick
Detroit's own opening things up with I think what is
now kind of the unofficial anthem of Welcome to Detroit.
Speaker 4 (09:34):
Very cool.
Speaker 5 (09:34):
Everyone got light up bracelets, so the entire stadium went
dark as they did. This kind of light show to
bring out the Lions. Not the only celebrity there. Barry
Sanders was seen on the sidelines. Taylor Lautner, who's made
it to quite a few games, was there as well.
Post game, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was asked about those
(09:56):
Jared Goff chants did Jared off Chance doing when you
come out?
Speaker 8 (10:03):
Are you over that?
Speaker 9 (10:04):
I guess it's just another arrive, just another place to
play it outside.
Speaker 5 (10:12):
Yeah, little salty, but next up are the box. A
lot of people had a lot of fun last night.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
I mean, I kind of love Destroit reporters continuing to
poke Matthew Stafford into just giving them anything. So does
does it feel bad to lose to you former team?
Speaker 5 (10:30):
To assume you're making millions of dollars? You're used to
getting that anywhere? Come on, all right? Jennifer Lopez hanging
out with none other than Matt Damon. I had said
to Venice, this is actually Toronto's International Film Festival, but
it got a lot of fans heads turning. The singer
and the born Identity star had their heads very close
(10:51):
together with very serious expressions on their faces. They were
sitting in a corner of a party where they could
get some privacy. At one point they were holding hands,
she could be seen whispering something to Matt and then
he kind of bowed his head, almost looking like he
was praying or something. Now, Jennifer is there for the
movie Unstoppable. She has a supporting role in the film,
(11:13):
while Ben is actually a producer on the movie, but
decided to stay home rather than risk a very public
run in with his ex on the red carpet. There's
some more sources that are speaking out on anonymone telling
page six Ben has a darkness to him that no
other person can fix.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
Jhen Garner couldn't fix it.
Speaker 5 (11:34):
The success in the world can't fix it, and so
it was just never going to work between them, despite
the fact that she still loves him very very much
and probably always will.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
Good Man damon there being a supportive friend is.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
What I think of here.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (11:47):
Finally, the Creative Emmy's went down last night, with some
big names getting those early trophies, including our absolute favorite
Jamie Lee Curtis Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series
who had the greatest Q and a backstage afterwards.
Speaker 10 (12:07):
Lucky like I'm the luckiest girl in the world. I've
been an actress since I was nineteen.
Speaker 11 (12:14):
I'm sixty five.
Speaker 10 (12:16):
I've sold Yogurt that makes you for seven years and
just a negular thought in my life that I would
get to do work at this level of depth and
complexity and intelligence. And it's just been the thrill of
my creative life.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
These last couple of years.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
I'm so happy she brought up the yogurt that makes
you pooh. It was brilliant. By the way, Prime Time
Emmy Awards, those will be next Sunday on NBC.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
Is she still rocking the Activa sponsorship? Just out of
the carriosity.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
I have not seen her in those in quite a while.
There's a couple of other actresses doing it now.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
I just hope that she is. That she is something
like that is like, Hey, appreciate the shout out at
the at That's nice.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
All of your celeb scoop at West Michigan startock out.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Good morning too. It's Mac and Schmiddy and you watching
the Lions game. It did not feel so good for you.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
Oh it's happened before the Lions game.
Speaker 7 (13:10):
Man.
Speaker 5 (13:10):
I was already nursing myself by the Lions game. I
was watching the Bear's one o'clock game yesterday, gotcha, And
it's just that awful moment where you injure yourself pretty
much doing nothing or worse, salt in the wound, when
you figure you can handle what you're doing and your
body is like, no, not at all. So we're watching
(13:30):
the game and my kids were sitting in the living
room or playing legs or whatever, and at one point
my daughter, my three year old daughter, hops on to
my back, and so I kind of like squat down,
like give her our little horsey ride. She having a
great time. And then I figure we had just been
talking about the warm ups that the players are doing,
because my son, who plays flag football, is kind of
(13:52):
learning a lot of this stuff, and I thought, wouldn't
it be cool if I showed him how strong I
was by doing push ups with Sophia on back.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Oh, you're so strong.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
Guess what.
Speaker 5 (14:02):
I haven't done a push up since the Presidential Fitness
Test of eighth grade, and I certainly I'm not fit enough.
I do one, like one downward, and all of a sudden,
I just my whole body is like nope, no. But
I had to push back up because if I don't
she's gonna like fall forward. I don't know what the
(14:23):
muscle is between the lower part of your arm and
the upper part of your arm right by your elbow. Okay,
I cannot fully extend that. This morning, I can't put
my arms above my shoulders, and I cracked down so
hard I bruised my knee. So that was very humbling.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
How great of a human being were you in that moment?
Speaker 4 (14:46):
I mean, I just I think I was more shocked
at my own self, Like.
Speaker 5 (14:49):
Why did you ever think you could do a push
up with your three year old on your back? And
halfway through trying to push myself back up, my husband
comes in from the kitchen. He's like, oh, what are
we doing?
Speaker 3 (15:01):
I was like, this seems like a ban I don't know.
Speaker 5 (15:03):
So I was literally icing my shoulders watching the Lions
game last night because I did practically nothing except trying
to show off to my son, who is now probably
terrified of doing any kind of warm ups.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
You know what any football fan will tell you, Sometimes
injuries during warm ups happen. You know, it's it's a
terrible thing, But if you don't stretch properly before trying
to get itthings so.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
Kind do you understand I wasn't warming up for anything.
I was literally just playing legos, trying to be fun,
and it will probably cost me seventy two hours of pain.
When I put this on our Facebook, I felt so
much better. Oh my gosh, so much better. I love you, Stephanie.
I dislocated a toe kicking off a pair of heels.
(15:47):
I have one hundred percent. Then there Charlene threw out
her back standing up.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
From the fridge.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
Schmiddy. This is the stuff of nightmares to me, Katie said,
paper cut on my eye getting out of the car
with paper is in my hands.
Speaker 5 (16:01):
I can't even Honestly, I'm surprised because my kids have
come real close to doing that to me a few times.
I think Jamie's is insane. Jamie's takes the cake. I
was spraying lysol at a black fly on my kitchen
tile floor, and then I stepped on it. I had
a slip and fall incident resulting in dislocating my right
(16:22):
foot ninety degrees while breaking both sides of my fibula,
and so now I have to have surgery to get
a metal plate with screws put into my right ankle.
Now it's sensitive to cold or wet weather, and my
right ankle is in a medical prosthetic grace.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
It's one heck of a fly Shaw, Jamie.
Speaker 5 (16:42):
I feel like we need to send you a presenter,
a get well kit.
Speaker 7 (16:48):
You know.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
I would like to pretend we're well informed people, but
really all we do is flick on links that lead
us to stories just like these. It is this week's ade.
Speaker 5 (16:57):
A cereal porch pooper is at an again. Littleville Metro
police have now been on the hunt for this porch
pooper for more than a week after stopping to this
same homeowner's porch on five different occasions to drop off
a package.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
I mean, at some point, you're gonna get a ring
doorcam right like he has one, totally like.
Speaker 5 (17:22):
Ten eighty I beautiful HD pick of this dude and
they cannot figure out who he is, and he just
keeps coming back and doing this on the guy's porch.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Cerial porch pooper. There was no topping thatch, Mandy. I'll
be honest, but man discovers Rock used his doorstop for
thirty years actually worth almost one hundred thousand dollars.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
I just want that to happen so bad.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
This was out of Michigan. As a matter of fact,
that of Ed Moore, a man was using a meteorite
that crashed into earth in the nineteen thirties that the
previous owner of the house had given him. Found out. Yes,
it was incredibly a super rare right that had crashed
into earth one hundred thousand bucks.
Speaker 4 (18:03):
But was it radioactive?
Speaker 3 (18:05):
It was not, but it was one heck of a
door staff though.
Speaker 5 (18:08):
SHMITTI at half a house for half a million bucks,
a one bedroom, one bathroom bungalow right outside of La
had a tree crashed down on it, ruining half. The
house just hit the market for five hundred thousand dollars.
Listing agent Kevin Wheeler said, it's an open concept floorplan.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
Yeah, that indoor outdoor concept is really big right now
in Kelly, I like that at Bye Schmidty shower sneeze
dislodged his object stuck a nose for twenty five years.
Wo Andy Norton, thirty two year old, was told by
his doctor to try blowing his nose in the shower
as it opens nasal passages. Well blew out a piece
(18:52):
of lego and instantly had a flashbag. Who had been
lodged in there in nineteen ninety eight.
Speaker 5 (18:59):
I don't care how much money you make as a doctor.
It's just not worth it to me.
Speaker 4 (19:03):
Stot.
Speaker 5 (19:04):
Finally, oh my gosh, the video going viral over a
woman that sat in the Oasis ticket queue for hours
only to have her cat hop up, walk across the laptop,
kick her offline and she never got the tickets. Cat's
name Gallagher learn Northern Ireland. She spent hours and will
not be going.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
To the show, schmiddy. This is a warning for shoppers online,
shoppers like yourself. Croissant lamp bought off TIMU was actually
a Croissant.
Speaker 4 (19:34):
Or heads up, get these before they sell.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
Out, uh TMU. Just take things extremely literally and you
get what you pay for with Because that cheep.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
Tedies music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 5 (19:56):
Well, the big announcement came just a little bit before
kickoff for NFL Sunday games yesterday. Kendrick Lamar, taking the
stage as the Super Bowl halftime show, actually made the
announcement on his Instagram while working with a passing machine
in front of a giant American flag.
Speaker 6 (20:14):
But the deal. Everybody, I'm named Keijick Lamar and now
be performing at Super Bowl fifty nine. Will you be
pulling up? I hope so you know. There's only one
opportunity to win the championship. No round tools, Let's get
it boom. I won't want you to miss it. Meet
me in New Orleans February night, twenty twenty five. What
are your best dress too? Even if you're watch it
(20:35):
from home, Let's go yay now.
Speaker 5 (20:38):
A lot of fans are super excited about this, especially
that he'll get the stage on his own. It was
just a couple Super bowls ago where he appeared for
the Super Bowl halftime show with Snoop Dre and Mary J.
Blige and fifty Cent. But there's a little bit of problem.
Here's the thing. Lil Wayne is actually from New Orleans.
(21:00):
Lot of the internet yesterday thought the NFL should have
gone with a homegrown celebrity, especially considering LA has the
Super Bowl in the next two years. I think so
they're like, listen, you could have had Kendrick. We love Kendrick.
Kendrick's absolutely phenomenal, but Lil Wayne probably should have been
picked for this show. Master p even putting on a
statement calling Kendrick one of the best in the rap game,
(21:21):
but questioning why Lil Wayne wasn't picked to perform. Now
there is the chance that the two of them could
maybe perform together. They did work on a couple songs,
including Mona Lisa on the Carter five, but still it's
kind of half and half.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
On this one. I'll be honest, MIDDI I like Kendrick
Lamar a lot.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
I think he's super talented. I am shocked that the
NFL chose him to do the super Bowl halftime show,
only because outside of hip hop circles, like most of
the NFL audience, I don't think really knows who Kendrick
Lamar is.
Speaker 5 (21:56):
I would say that except for the fact that two
Super bowls ago that halftime show had some of the
most chatter about it. I think they've had in over
a decade, and so they understand that this is something
an audience would.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
Like to see.
Speaker 5 (22:10):
My problem is they've been touting the fact that they're
trying to pick people from those home cities and this
was kind of a miss.
Speaker 4 (22:16):
Honestly, I love Kendrick. I hope we'll Wayne will join
him on stage as well.
Speaker 5 (22:20):
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey had quite a packed social
calendar over the weekend. Of course, he got his big
game out of the way. On Thursday night, the pair
were seen at Electric Lady Studios, that's Taylor's recording studio.
They went for a big wedding of her model friend
Karen Elson, while fielding questions about whether or not the
two of them will be tying the not soon.
Speaker 4 (22:41):
They stayed very mum on that.
Speaker 5 (22:43):
And then showed up at the US Open watched a
little tennis. It was noted by fans. They shared a
suite with Patrick and Brittany Mahomes.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
After.
Speaker 5 (22:52):
There was some rumor about bad blood over political feels,
but you could.
Speaker 4 (22:57):
Tell Taylor was having a good time. Can you kind
of hear in the background the darkness? I believe in
a thing called.
Speaker 5 (23:05):
Love and she is losing her mind. She's ended up
a tread. They're kissing each other, They're dancing. I'm like, girl,
those Voca crans hit and they hit good.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
I'm sure Tennis fans are like, all right, come on,
you already took over football. Would you leave tennis soon?
Speaker 4 (23:21):
So cute.
Speaker 5 (23:22):
Finally, Tom Brady, the Goat on the field, but how
does he.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
Do off the field?
Speaker 5 (23:28):
His very first time, the debut of his new Fox
broadcast deal, he called the Browns Cowboys game in Cleveland.
Here is a bit of what that sounded like.
Speaker 8 (23:40):
Yeah, Dak signed the largest contract in the history of
the NFL. Now he's got to go out there and
earn it. And twenty twenty three was his best season.
He's coming off of that. But going forward, it's going
to be what happens in the postseason.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
How he's in the desert.
Speaker 8 (23:53):
But today hitch challenge is going to be Miles Jarrett,
the right defensive end for Cleveland Browns, the rainy defensive
player the year. He is one of the rare players
who has no weakness.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
Is that's going to be dealing with him all day.
Speaker 5 (24:06):
It was not generously received yesterday. He got pretty trashed online.
One person rating, Wow, it's like you went from the
CEO to the janitor.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
I'm a huge Tom Brady fan, is a Michigan I
did watch actually a big chunk of that game, and
my initial and honest reflection was this isn't very good. Tom.
Speaker 4 (24:27):
I don't think it was very good.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
But this is this is the problem this is the
worst Tom Brady will be right now, his first day
on the job, his first big broadcast ever. There he
cant from.
Speaker 4 (24:37):
The year watch him during NFL Countdown.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
I did not. That was also it was also pretty brutal.
Speaker 4 (24:42):
It was also pretty brutal.
Speaker 5 (24:43):
So I hope I'm like, obviously anyone in our business
will tell you that first time out, like your first
couple of years doing this, you're green, you sound rough.
I just There's also been reports that he was working
with the best of the best months on this and
didn't sound like it.
Speaker 4 (24:59):
I just thank you.
Speaker 5 (25:00):
See you, Tom. You're in a broadcast booth. Now you
can be fun and interesting in that color commentator.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
Is it just me or do other people also feel
kind of good that Tom thinking Brady is bad at
something Like you said, I didn't go.
Speaker 5 (25:16):
He might get to a game next week, and everyone's like, oh,
that's right. He's literally good at everything, even eating tree
bark All of Yours theleb Scoop at West Michigan's Star dot.
Speaker 3 (25:24):
Com Smack and Schitty Tome two Battle Battle of the
Sex is trying to get you onto Hot Wheels, Monster Trucks,
Live Glow Party.
Speaker 5 (25:31):
It's this weekend, Get the kids stoked to end Battle
of the Sexes, gets you those tickets? Number one answer
right now. One hundred men surveyed names something that might
have a not in it.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
Oh, my sons shoes every single day when he comes
home from school because he attempts to do double knots
that wind up just turning into like triple and quadruple.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
Now, I was gonna say my shoulder.
Speaker 5 (25:51):
If you missed that earlier conversation, check the podcast West
Michigan Star dot com six one six four five eight
one oh five seven. One hundred men survey Name something
that might have a not in it? Number one answer,
and you are going to Hot Meals, Monster Truck's Live
Glow Party with Star Win. Oh five point seven Morning Star.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
Who's this?
Speaker 2 (26:12):
This is Tony, Tony.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
How was your weekend?
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Sir?
Speaker 7 (26:15):
Oh, it's real good, real good.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
All right, let's see if we can make the Monday
a little better too, Tony. One hundred guys were asked
to name something that might have a knot in it?
What do you think? Their top answer was, Tony a muffle? Oh,
a muscle, Yeah, like what Schmitty was saying in her shoulder.
There or my back at basically any moment in time.
But no muscle not on the list. I'm sorry, Tony,
(26:38):
have a great day. Hi star, who's this? Hi? This
is Madeline, Hi, Madeling. Tony just gave me a great guess.
But one hundred guys were asked to name something that
might have a knot in it. He said a muscle,
but that it's not on the list. So what do
you think it is.
Speaker 8 (26:55):
I'm gonna go with hair.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
You're gonna go with hair. A knot in your hair?
I can tell you, as the dad of a daughter
who's got the world's thickest hair, that knots getting into
it is something I have to deal and brush out
all the time. Hair's the top answer. Well done, Oh yeah,
you got four tickets to go check out Hot Wheels,
(27:18):
Monster Trucks, Live Glow party congrants. Oh yeah, it's gonna
be a fun show. It was hair, followed by pretzel, Yeah,
a lot of Nazi pretzels, then shoe and rope, rounding
out those top answers. Way to go, You're very welcome,
and of course we'll do it again tomorrow. Battle of
the Sections every weekday eight fifteen. You're on starting a
(27:39):
five point seven jack in Schmitty, and I am really
interested to hear your answer on this Schmitty because I
want to know what the longest binge washing session you've
ever been on was, because mine was not some show
this weekend. I uh, I was pretty ridiculous with the
football on Saturday, specifically for college, because you had Michigan
(28:00):
at noon, you had Michigan State coming up right after them,
and then you had the slated night game Schmitty. I
am not kidding when I say I watched football for
like thirteen and a half hour strapped so to my
home set. Oh, my back was hurt, my stomach was full.
I was a little bit tipsy for sure, and I
slept like an absolute rock. But I was ashamed of myself,
and I woke up in the morning. I didn't think
(28:21):
I moved.
Speaker 5 (28:22):
I feel really good because the way that our living
room is set up, We've got these like giant windows
to our backyard, so we like open the windows. The
breeze was coming in. You could hear windchimes, and I'm like, see, babe,
it's not like we're sitting here for fourteen hours watching football.
Speaker 4 (28:35):
We also have nature, like it's very demure of us.
Speaker 5 (28:38):
We are absolutely mindful of the fact that we're still
getting fresh air even though we're sitting here and couch
rotting in front of a screen for more than half.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
A day some dome. Because I get a good feeling,
let's dive into some positivity to start this week out
on a great note. Feeling good right now and starting
on five point seven. It's macka Schmidty.
Speaker 5 (29:00):
It's just so much more than sports sometimes. I told you,
I guarantee a man decked out in all La Rams
gear at Ford Field yesterday was going to become a favorite,
even for Lions fans. Bake shout out to Woodward Sports
who met Michael. He was out celebrating ahead of the
game and had a very specific reason that he was
(29:21):
wearing Matthew Stafford's Rams jersey.
Speaker 9 (29:24):
Don't be giving me any s because I'm not a
Rams fan, but I'm here because my daughter, who lives
in Denver. Her fiance was a huge Lions fan. She
was a Rams fan. He passed away seven months ago
and they were going to come to this game and
I'm like, no, we're still going her.
Speaker 5 (29:40):
So give me his jersey.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
I'll wear that she's got.
Speaker 9 (29:43):
Her Lions shirt on and her Rams jacket on, and
we're going to the game and we're just going to
celebrate two passionate fan bases, and we have loved Detroit
and we're going to get a Cony dog. Can't wait.
Speaker 5 (29:55):
Isn't that incredible? When you look through the comments, there
was one Geohollan that wrote, Jordan is the name of
the Lions fan that passed away. He was my best
friend and a wonderful dude, gone far too soon, only thirty.
And the man you see in this video is as
much of a legend in real life as he comes
across in this short clip. Great dad, an honorable man.
Speaker 4 (30:16):
Go Lions today from an Eagles van.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Thought that was so cool. That is really I mean,
what a dad move?
Speaker 7 (30:22):
Right?
Speaker 4 (30:22):
Yeah, pretty incredible?
Speaker 3 (30:23):
I love that all right, j Betty. Of course, back
to school time also means school dances, homecomings right around
the corner. Of course, at the end of the year,
prom and everything in between. But that season approaches many
students and parents they struggle to afford some of those
more expensive items that come along with some of those dances.
So one Gratton Rapid's mom doing what she can to
(30:44):
help lighten that financial burden. She is creating a school
in dance attire, a shop for that clothing where a
food and clothing pantry has been going on for more
than forty years at Saint Alphonsi's Church. Michelle Field, who's
the director of Social Concerns there, said that she had
a couple of people donate fancier dresses and that just
(31:07):
sort of sparked the idea of creating a bigger space
where kids could take advantage. She talked to thirteen on
your Side about how she felt this was just important
so that all kids could get out there and have
some fun on their big nights.
Speaker 11 (31:18):
The goal is really to help students have a great
dance experience and feel like they are able to attend
because we can hopefully provide some of those things that
would be a barrier financially. Just really excited about it,
and I'm hoping that if we get enough donations coming in,
(31:38):
it's something we could do on a larger scale, just
get them feeling already for their special day.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
Yeah, the new sections already gotten to dance related entire dresses, suits, heels,
jewelry and more so Boys and Girls doesn't matter, but
they are of course accepting more and more donations as
they try and build this to help more and more
kids out. The pantry located at two twenty four Carriers
to Eat in Northeast Grand Rapids, open Monday through Friday,
nine am to one pm. If you want to make
some donations, love sen alfonsas feeling good comes at you
(32:07):
twice a day. I always want to point out people
doing good things out in our world. They're all around
you when you're looking for them, and we do each
day six forty five and nine twenty here on Star
wine oh five point seven Mack
Speaker 2 (32:16):
And Schmidty in the morning weekday starting at six am
on Star one oh five point seven
