Mack and Schmitty in the morning onWest Michigan's Christmas station Star one oh five
point seven. Well, good morning, t Schmitty. Happy Wednesday. I
cannot believe it. Here we are. Tomorrow's the day. Tomorrow we kick
it off the Radiothon for the Helende Voss Children's Hospital. I can't believe
it's already back. But before that, we have another grand prize drawing this

(00:23):
morning with Impact Power Sports in Rockford. We're gonna given away that Youth Quad
ATV. Very special guests from Impactare going to be joining us in studio
with a really sweet, I thinkearly kickoff to Radiothon that you're gonna want
to be listening for. You know, I am ready for those Christmas presents
to go out to listeners who havebeen trying to win. With that Santa

(00:45):
Slay song of the Day again,We're gonna get you hooked up. But
when it comes to Christmas presence inmy household, Schmitty, the wall,
the dam is starting to break.I've been hearing nothing but I want a
fertilized chicken egg, and I wanta dog, and I want a Nintendo
switch and all this other stuff thatwas, you know, big, big

(01:06):
stuff. Now my kids are startingto like bring the level down just a
little bit. Like yesterday for thefirst time, it was like, well,
I don't see a fertilized egg.You know, some legos would be
really cool. I'm like, oh, you know what legos compared to live
animals? You know what? Santacan get on board with things like that.
Meanwhile, I am hiding gifts mykids have bought from themselves. Don't

(01:32):
understand what that means. Be listeningat seven to ten because I'm wondering if
any other parents are suddenly discovering thisabout their kids, movies, music,
and all the gossip in one place. It's the celebrities Goop on Star one
oh five point seven Amy Robock herboyfriend TJ. Holmes. This is the
Good Morning America couple that lost theirjobs over this relationship. Had taken his

(01:56):
life in the final tumultuous months atABC when their careers came to a close.
It is a harrowing story. Sheis just no sharing on their new
podcast. That's right. The formerGMA anchors have launched a new podcast together,
and the latest episode has her explainingthe moment that she had to go
and check on TJ, because thelast she had heard from him, he

(02:16):
was texting her using things in thepast tense, like you were the love
of my life, I will missyou. Things were great, and when
she couldn't get a hold of him, nobody else could seem to find him,
she expected the worst. Showing upto his condo, I was shaking,
and I remember going down the hallopening the door, and my dad

(02:37):
came in with me, and Isaw you and you were just splayed out
on your bed and I ran toyou, I said, TJ. And
you didn't move. And I rememberthis was the most awful thing, having
to touch your body to see ifyou were warm. I was so afraid.
Yeah. TJ says he really doesn'tremember much of any of this after

(02:59):
a slam some different substances that dayto kind of get him through. It's
a really intense first episode. Theycall it The Year from Hell. Losing
their jobs. She said that therewere moments that she wasn't sure she could
go on. Supposed to be avery very raw kind of podcast, you
know, and kind of their firsttiptoe back into public life, it seems

(03:19):
as well, because I mean, while obviously relationships at the workplace are going
to cause issues for everybody. Ihonestly didn't think it was going to be
the end of either one of thesetwo relatively young people's careers. Well if
you think that's kind of juicy, wait until you hear what I have for
you coming up at seven o'clock concerningtheir exes. This was a big story
yesterday. Jeffrey Dahmer's father, Lionel, has passed away. This is a

(03:44):
relationship a lot of people really learneda lot about with that big Netflix special
that came out last year starring EvanPeters and Richard Jenkins playing Lionel. We
don't have too many details. Apparentlyhe passed yesterday while in hospice care in
Medina County, Ohio. The exactcircumstances of death are unknown. He was
eighty seven. I mean, Idid not get into the domer Netflix specials

(04:10):
and everything else that seemed to cameout with it, But yeah, people
got obsessed with him again. Finally, Susan Sarandon is once again facing backlash
over those alleged anti Semitic remarks shemade at a pro Palestine rally just a
couple of weeks ago. Remember shewas dropped from her talent agency. Well,
now she's been dropped from a shortfilm she was set to star and

(04:30):
called slipping away. This is accordingto the co founder of the production company
that was putting it together. Hesaid, they want to make it clear
Susan Sarandon's views do not reflect theopinions of their organization. While we were
considering her for a short film, due to her recent statements, we have
decided to pursue other options. Andof course, remember just about a week

(04:53):
and a half ago, she issueda pretty big Maya culpa apology about how
she spoke. It was costing hera lot of work. Yeah, that's
what I was going to say.I like she did come and apologize.
Clearly, that wasn't quite enough tosave some projects at all. All of
your celeb scoop at West Michigan Stardot com. In the holiday mood,
I'm a Christmas spirit of giving Schmitty, I got to give a tip of
the cap to my father at thesame time call him out. What is

(05:15):
the food from a place that youlived that you absolutely just miss. It's
the thing you think about anytime youlook back fondly at that place you used
to live Jersey Giant. Oh gosh, in Lansing. I know, I
went to that Jersey Giant so manytimes. That was one of my favorite
tip. I think Frandor is thebest one. We had, the Lancing
one. I got to hit thefrand Door one. We used to have
a couple locations here in Gred Rapids. I was devastated when they closed.

(05:40):
Uh for me, and I've talkedabout them before, and it's really for
my entire family. It's this placein Holton Lake, Michigan, where I
grew up, and it's called Bouselli'sPizza. Yeah, and they are they're
kind of families up there. Butall of my siblings, my little brother,
older brother, older sister, weall worked there for years in high
school and then in college, andwe come in the summer. We're friends
with the family, and so that'slike an almost home, you know,

(06:02):
that's what we think of. Soevery time we're in Hoton Lake, it's
a foregone conclusion that at least one, if not several meals will be provided
by Boucelli's Pizza. And you know, haven't been able to get up north.
My dad, though, did somethingreally sweet for my sister she is
due to give birth with her thirdchild any second now. She is going

(06:25):
to be going in as a matterof fact, on Friday to have this
baby if it doesn't come on itsown beforehand. And yesterday my dad drove
up here just to bring my sisterBoucelli's that's it. Yeah, that's like
I didn't even I didn't know hewas coming. I didn't know he was
doing it, he said. Hewas just talking to her on the phone.

(06:47):
A spicy pizza, super uncomfortable,Yeah, no problem, trying to
kick start that little process. Iremember what that was like for my sister.
I know it's gonna be a sausageand pepperoni pizza for sure, maybe
a chicken kel zone. But she, uh, she never asked for any
of it. She just was talkingto my dad the day before. She's
like, you know, I'm justsuper uncomfortable and you know, still trying

(07:08):
to work right up until the lastminute. My dad was just like,
I just you know, I justsensed that she could use a little bit
of love, a little bit ofhome, so I thought I'd bring it
down. It's an unwritten rule forus if anyone is in Lansing coming back
to Grand Rapids, they bring JerseyGiant. We all have everyone's orders memorized.
I'll bring it to my brother,he will bring it to me.
Cryst will bring it to the family. If my parents come here, they'll

(07:28):
bring it. If we had toDetroit, which is where my other two
brothers are, we will take it. Their unwritten rule. If you were
in Lancing, visiting family, anywhereelse, you take them Jersey Giant every
single time. That's a love language, right, That's who I'm because there's
nothing more fantastic than seeing that, like fourteen inches of deliciousness. The number
fourteen is my favorite. Oh dumbcoming at you give me the oil and

(07:51):
sp over there telling you it isan absolute love language. Ah that big
time is. But for my sisterit was just such like a like a
a calming thing. Not only didyour dad just show up, I love
field to come hang out with youat the end and something from homeworks.
Absolutely, here's the part I havea problem with. I live like ten
minutes away. Dude didn't bring athird I knew somehow this selfishly affected you.

(08:13):
He barely even told me he wasin town. I got the call,
but he was like fifteen minutes fromLike now, I got a head
backed up the whole leg I gota thing to go going on tomorrow.
And I'm like, all right, cool, you're gonna drop off like a
couple of a couple of pizzas onyour ways. He's like, no,
I just I just brought a pizzaand some salary. You having a kid?
What? I am his kid?For beat's sake, I already been

(08:33):
there, done that, But you'renot his daughter, having another one of
his grandchildren. Not only real lowdown on the totem polling guy, so
far down. I'm not the oldest, I'm not the youngest, and I'm
not the only girl. I amliterally the red headed child for sure.
Sometimes because I get a good feeling, well, let's put some positivity out

(08:54):
into the world. And that iswhat these dans are doing each in every
week. It's not one on fivepoint seven macins fitty with feeling good right
now? And this is so cool. This's been going on for a while
in the Louisville, Kentucky area,Spinny every Wednesday, hump Day, it's
flash Dad's Day. And now theydon't do choreographed dances, thank goodness.
Nobody wants to see those kinds ofdad moves. Instead, what they do

(09:16):
is dozens and dozens of dads gettogether at schools across the entire district and
every Wednesday they are there to greetthe kids with high fives, hugs,
words of encouragement, whatever it isthat the kids need. And again,
this has been happening for seven years. Every Wednesday. These guys are stacked

(09:37):
in the hallways and having such agood time doing it too. Greg Van,
who's an associate with the program thatput it on, says, every
time we have Flash Dad's events, students, principles and teachers always say,
man, the day was so muchbetter. Students are positive and unlifted.
They can't believe people are there forthem. Doctor Kenya Nash, who's a
principal at one of those schools, told WSAH in Louisville, I think it's

(10:01):
important to have Flash Dads in allthe schools come out and visit the schools.
But more importantly, it gives thekid just a wonderful start to their
day and for the dads it's rewardingtoo. Like for Army Vet James Morgan,
who's been doing this since day one, he says doesn't plan on stopping.
Just because when the kids aren't gettinghigh fives, just because it's not
Wednesday, doesn't mean that they're notthere for them. So we continue to

(10:24):
reach out to these students. Ilet them know we're not there just that
day. We there whenever you needus. It's not a one day event,
it's a lifetime event. What anawesome way to just look up the
kids. So I saw this onTikTok a few months ago. There's an
entire side of TikTok with videos ofthese flash dance activities across the country.

(10:48):
So I'll find some from St.Louisville. I've seen some from cities across
the country, and it's so incredibleto see the looks on the dad's faces
and the kids' faces. It's reallyreally great. Another great look hunters that
are giving back in such a bigway here in West Michigan, so I
know when you go out hunting.Of course, Opening Day was just about
a month ago. A lot oftalk about bucks, but let's not overlook

(11:11):
the does. And that's exactly whatthe bootsmahs in Holland decided to do when
they came up with an idea theycalled Doe Patrol. This originally started back
in twenty twenty. Kelly Bootsma's husband, Tim was very involved with the Boys
and Girls Club at the time, also an avid hunter, so that's when
a staff member from the club talkedto Tim to see if he knew how

(11:33):
they could get some extra meat forstudents while they were home on Christmas break.
A lot of kids, especially inOttawa County, are struggling to keep
food at home, whether it wasparents not working due to COVID back in
twenty twenty, or just living inan impoverished area. Kelly tells Wood TV.
A lot of people overlook the factthat Holland does have struggling families.
So Tim came up with the ideato provide some meat through the hunting community,

(11:56):
the Dough Patrol. He said, there were there's a big way that
we could give back, and they'vedone. Just that first year alone,
the nonprofit race more than three thousanddollars, bringing in seven dear It's been
growing ever since. In just threeyears, Dope Patrol has donated more than
two thousand pounds of meat. Theyhave raised over twenty thousand dollars for local
charities, including the Boys and GirlsClub Hunt to Heal, which I've talked

(12:22):
about before, sports persons ministries, and this year they're going to be partnering
up with Matthew's House Ministry. They'relooking at about fifteen hundred pounds of meat,
which is what the ministry would needfor the entire year. And get
this, they're already halfway there,Kelly tells Wood TV. It is a
blessing to watch what some hunting andsome dough can do. There's a ton

(12:45):
of people who come out here andhelp us, and to be able to
just grow that community and just showthe love of Christ, whether that's donating
money to help someone or donating meatto feed someone who might not have otherwise,
that has been such a blessing. So if you're listening right now and
you're going, well, wait aminute, I'm a hunter. I would
love to be involved with this,or I have a way to volunteer my
time or money. I would lovefor you to go check out Dough Patrol

(13:09):
Westmichigan dot com because they would loveto have it. You go. Not
just about the big bucks out there, Schmidde, this is such a cool
way to do things too. Feelinggood coming answer twice a day to pick
you up and give you something greatto take with you into the rest of
your day. Come into it againwith us this morning at nine twenty on
Star one on five point seven,Movies, music, and all the gossip

(13:30):
in one place. It's the CelebritiesGoop on Star one oh five point seven.
So it does look like former GoodMorning America anchors Amy Roboch and TJ
Holmes are going strong. I mentionedhow they are coming out with a new
podcast where they're kind of diving intoeverything that happened. But their exes are
now dating each other. Page sixis saying sources claim that Merrily Fibig,

(13:54):
who would be TJ's ex wife, and Andrew Shue, who will be Amy's
ex husband, are seeing each otherromantically and have been for about six months.
The outletters were reporting that the pairbonded over their respective divorces from the
two former GMA three co angers, who of course are still together. According

(14:16):
to the report, they initially hadthe divorces and the scandal as their common
ground, but now their relationship hastranscended all that messiness. Both have moved
on from their broadcasting exes and arevery very happy together. I'm sure,
that's what they tell everybody. I'msorry. I think things like this are

(14:37):
a lot of weird and that thatyou definitely bonded over talking smack about the
other people in a weird way thatI don't I don't know if that's healthy
to growl relationship from. That's O. Now they're still going, so I
guess it might work. Paris Hiltonhas really had moms scratching their heads on
this one. Of course. Hernew season of Paris and Love premiered last

(15:00):
week on Peacock, and the newestepisode shows that she did not change her
son Phoenix's diaper for the entire firstmonth of his life. I don't know
if she didn't know how. Sheclaims she was just very scared to do
it. So thankfully, rich peoplehave a lot of nanny stepping in,
so this is her realizing at somepoint she's gonna have to do this.

(15:20):
It might as well be now.I know, I said I wouldn't do
this on my birthday, but hewill for you anything, for Phoenix.
I'm scared you've never done it.No, Wow, thank you always like
loose of it. Oh this isa number two, and that is her

(15:46):
little sister Nikki showing her how tochange a diaper, saying things like you
have to be gentle, get inthe little crevices. And then at the
end of it, NICKI going, well, I mean that was like half
you doing it by yourself. Oh, I mean, I like how she
had already said it advanced, Like, you know, I don't plan on
doing it on her birthday. Imight change a diaper someday, but it
won't. You know what about thebolts fit. If you've had babies before,

(16:07):
you know that first month is kindof interesting for what exits a child.
So I mean, maybe she didn'tmiss a whole time, right,
I just like how all the headlinesread Paris Hilton didn't change her son's diaper
until he was one month old,Like the kid's just been sitting in one
for the entire time he's been alive. I finally a little bit of a
spoiler alert if you did not watchthe Dancing with the Stars finale last night,

(16:30):
I don't want to give anything awayif you've got it recorded or planning
to watch it later, So giveme a second. Maybe turn your speaker
down, because we have a newwinner of the first ever Len Goodman mirror
Ball Trophy. The winners and newchampions of Dancing with the Stars are so
Chi and that's right, Sochi Gomezand her pro partner val taking home the

(16:56):
coveted trophy. Jason Morez and hispro partner Danielle came in second, with
Ariana Maddox and pro partner Pasha comingin third. This was the very excited
couple after that big announcement last night. How does it feel? Feels amazing?
Feel great? Yeah, you know, I feel like at the same
time, each week we've had somuch fun and every time that we've had

(17:17):
a great dance and we felt greatabout it, we had this great feeling
and that's the same feeling that we'rehaving here. You know. It's just
like the same thing. But timesI can talking to Entertainment tonight about that.
They also talked about how much loveall the cast had no real drama
this season, a and Velsa thathe's really excited to see his brother Maxim
joining the Dancing with the Stars judgestable next season. Well, the eye

(17:41):
Candy is sitting to the judges table. My question, this is my row
Wood Dancy with the Stars. Idon't know who she is, Am I
like, am I just way outof it? No, I wasn't sure
myself, and I didn't know ifI maybe missed something because I don't really
watch it. I'm I'm not entirelysure. I think she's I don't know,
only dancing with all of you areceleb Scoop at West Michigan Star dot

(18:04):
com, Goodman and TiO, It'sMack and Schmidty. And you know,
I've heard of having to hide presentsbefore, but it's a little different.
Well yeah, I mean, asparents, if we have the presence we're
giving our kids for Christmas, youknow, Sanna's got his lot covered.
And then you give your kids somepresents from mom and dad. You're used
to having to hide those, Butwhat about hiding the gifts that your kids

(18:26):
buy for everyone else from them theirown selves, like they can't be trusted
because will has turned in. Myfive year old has turned into this little
guy that is so excited about everybodygetting what they're getting from him, so
excited he cannot wait until Christmas. And they had Santa shop at his school
the past couple days. And ifyou're unfamiliar, it's really fun. A

(18:47):
lot of schools do this they'll havepeople donate gifts or help out with some
money and then have really affordable thingsthat the students can go and quote unquote
shop for like mom and dad, brothers and sisters, grandma, parents,
and it's cute. They can getlike, you know, a toy for
two or three dollars and then theyget help wrapping it up. It's such
a good feeling. Miss Yeah,it's it's very independent. They love it.

(19:08):
Will's been doing this for like threeyears now. And he gets home
yesterday with his gift bags and hisstuff all wrapped and he bought four Me
and Chris, Sophia, his littlesister, and then Toby and Beulah are
two dogs. Natly, he wasso excited about it, and it's the
first, the first presents we putunder the tree yesterday and we were like,
yeah, buddy, just like puthim where you want. Everybody will

(19:30):
be really excited to open him onChristmas Day. And it was not even
thirty minutes later that he goes, but you guys want to open them right
now? Okay, well, butI can give him to you right now,
and you know what they are.Toby and Bula probably can't open them
themselves. So I'll help. AndI was like, no, honey,
remember we're gonna say this for Christmas. It's so much fun on Christmas Day
when we all get to open presents. Okay. So like an hour later,

(19:52):
I kitch him, snoop around.I said, what are you doing?
He goes, I'm just making surethey're so wrapped. I think one
is coming unwrapped, though, sowe should just open it to four or
five. Still there, still there. We're not opening the gifts yet.
It's for Christmas. Maybe we'll openthem on Christmas Eve. That's a tradition
for us, but not today. We want to be excited about it,
okay. And then after dinner,he's clearing his plate. He goes,

(20:12):
whoa, he said, what?He goes, I think one of the
presents is starting to come unwrapped.I think it's Sophia's though, so she
should probably open hers because she couldlike play with her right now. So
I put the kids to bed lastnight, and I hid the gifts.
I hid the gifts my son boughtfrom his own self because he can't be
trusted. He's just so excited aboutthis. And I'm upstairs in our what

(20:33):
time is it? So? Andso manchean secret place. I think they
might be listening right now. SoI'm not gonna tell you where we hide
him. Yeah, and uh,Chris, my husband goes, what are
you doing? I said, Ihave to hide Will's gifts from himself.
And he's like the ones he bought. He said, Babe, he can't
handle it. He is gonna bedown there in the dead of night opening
everything. We're just gonna wake upone morning. It's all gonna be on
display and he's be like, MerryChristmas. I opened them for you.

(20:55):
You're gonna love him. Check themall. I Meanyboddy, I got all
the I got all the wrapping outof the way for you. Here.
Kids shop for members in your family, and have you had to hide the
gifts from them. I haven't hadto do that. They are keeping them
from them, and the hard partis actually just getting them to not tell
you what they got. So myson when he does this, like it
was just a couple of years agothat I had to go Connor, stop,

(21:15):
what are you doing? Because he'dgo up and he'd go, Mom,
you know what would look good onyou? Yeah? They think they're
dropping new scarf. Yep, Ithink a new scarf would look amazing on
you. Not subtle whatsoever. Haveabsolutely no idea what a hint is.
Will told me last year, hegoes, oh gosh, you're gonna love
your bracelet, and it was therewas the gift for my husband. So

(21:38):
Christmas, Oh yeah, thanks Pal. I appreciate that one. Buddy.
Is there something weird you've already hadto hide for Christmas? Like I said,
maybe you're hiding the gifts that yourbeautiful offspring have bought from their own
selves because their little hands can't betrusted six one six, four five eight,
one oh five seven. Or ifyou give up your good hiding spots,

(22:02):
I'm afraid they're gonna find mine andI'm gonna have to have some backups.
Hit us up four five eight oneoh five seven. Or if you're
listening on her I Heart radio app, tap that red microphone send us a
talk back. He's a fine point. See I'm givarting to you. It's
Mack and Schmidy. So I wastalking about having to hide the gifts that
my son has bought for the restof the members of our family from himself.

(22:23):
We're hiding them from him because hecan't be trusted. Hey, Star,
who's this. Hi? It's Melissa, Melitia. Where are you going
from today? Grand Rapids? Allright, Melissa? What have you had
to hide? Well? Actually,I was surprised that I had to hide
the special dog treats that we gotfrom Trader Joel because my son kept asking

(22:45):
for them because they were decorated likeChristmas cookies, yep, and he took
a nibble and he's like, wellthat's kind of delicious. Well I just
kept finding him holding them and walkingaround with them, and I thought,
Okay, this isn't going to endwell, Melissa, you're amazing. Thanks
for the call, Harry, Christmas, Good morning Star. Who's this?

(23:07):
Leslie? Where you're at today?Leslie? Hiding something from the kids?
I'm trying to My daughter has everyI've ever used all over the house,
living down, Daddy, do someof the basement we can't use that.
She'll go upstairs and like Claus, the door get left open. She's like,
wait, that doesn't go that's stepfriends. Did you see this mole?
Like? Yeah, I mean itfather. Then, so I kind

(23:30):
of pushed it out. I don'tknow if we're gonna get the Christmas thing
on though, but try. Ilove the call, have a great morning,
Thank you too. I just gotquite the call from someone who said,
you know, I didn't have tiedit from my kids, should have
hiden it from my neighbor. Shejust had her husband's gift dropped off and
this Oliver your person left it inthe middle of her driveway in the pouring

(23:51):
rain. So like a good neighbor, her next neighbor came and got it,
brought it inside and then called herhusband and said, Hey, what's
this big Dwalt box sitting here?Merry Christmas. Neighbors are so great too
as a gift the Lord and too. It's Mack and SCHMITTI and you know
how we roll, just imperfect parentsand not afraid to admit it. And
each and every Wednesday it's time fora and I I have made this mistake

(24:15):
many times, and I don't learnmy lesson as a parent, Schmidty,
and frankly, I don't know ifI'm ever going to. I can't help
but cheer for my children in theirsports, even when they find it incredibly
embarrassing. My daughter tried volleyball thistime around, and to be fair,
the ut your daughter is at existenceis embarrassed. YEA, yeah, I
can't do anything that's not embarrassing. But I will admit that I kind of

(24:40):
knew that maybe this wasn't a greatidea, but I felt like I had
to. So she was taken onanother team in a scrimmage and they were
from a different school. And Idon't know how, you know, this
is my first foray into volleyball asa parent, if you will, And
so I didn't know that there wereall these chants, So all these chants
that some of the other teams weredoing, like every time they would get

(25:00):
an ace, which is like apoint off the serve, they're doing like
hand claps and saying it hit theground, like doing all of these things.
But our girls, they weren't doinganything. There wasn't any noise,
there wasn't And I felt like, you know, somebody's got to provide the
pep in the staff, somebody's gotto put a little juice into this thing.
Smitty, So boy, all thegirls after every time they would get

(25:22):
an ace, I would just startdoing the fake hypehorn and I shouted.
I shouted after every time that someonewould give a score, and like parents
were laughing. Some of the girlswere smiling. I heard a couple of
the other girls go ahead and likeyell ace when one of the other girls
did. My daughter, though, would not make eye contact with me,

(25:45):
and I was like, you know, no big deal, I'll keep doing
this. Her turn comes up andshe messed up on the surf a little
bit, and I shouted, justpretend it's your little brother and hit it
hard. Well, you did not. I did speaking to you. She
did not speak to me for theway. Ah ah. We didn't get
any of that. And now Ihave. The way I made it good

(26:07):
is that I'm going to be silentat basketball this weekend. I am under
strict orders that I am not allowedto make a single sound, and that's
the only way I'm going to beforgiven. Let me be surprised if she
shows up with duct tape for yourmouth. You know, if you're not
embarrassing your kids, I don't knowif you're trying as a parent to be
honest with you sitting movies, musicand all the gossip in one place.

(26:29):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one ohfive point seven. Well, leave it
to Taylor Swift to dominate yet anotherlist being declared one of the world's world's
most Powerful women by none other thanForbes magazine. Tea has landed at number
five on a list that includes everyonefrom world leaders and CEOs to heads of

(26:51):
financial corporations. The influential publication listedher at number five last year, she
came in at number seventy nine.Girl has skyrocketed, they write, with
a record breaking world to her,the ability to move economies, and a
one point one billion dollar networth.Remember she became a billionaire back in October.
Forbes declares the pop star in anintroductory paragraph, and a league of

(27:15):
her own. I mean, Idon't think that there's a more powerful celebrity
on the planet right now. Actually, schmiddy, it was really interesting.
I'm trying to find kind of therest of the list because I don't know
who celebrity wise would take over her. But I was surprised she was at
number five. Fans will have towait to see the whole entire list,
which will be dropping throughout the restof the week. Britney Spears has posted

(27:37):
something new that has fans very excitedfor her and how she must be feeling
about family. So she posted abunch of throwback family pictures yesterday, some
of them showing her carrying around hernow teenage sons when they were a lot
younger. But there's one in particularthat caught fans attention, and it shows
Jamie her dad next to Britney holdinghis grandson's lufunch box and a juice box

(28:00):
and the two look really really happytogether. Now, Brittany did not leave
a caption, but a lot offans think this is kind of the beginning
of that olive branch being extended, maybe starting to have some conversations with her
dad and eventually working towards that fullreconciliation which close friends per se she would
love to have happen. And itseems like now's the time. I mean,

(28:21):
like you said, dealing with thatinfection legs. It has a leg
amputated. It has not been goingwell for Jamie. Finally, actor Hugh
Grant reveals he hated his controversial umpA loop A role in Timothy Shalomey's New
Willy Wonka. Of course, hecame under fire for this part in the
movie, with his casting being criticizedby those with Dwarfism, who argued the

(28:44):
part should have been offered to anactor with the condition. Now, Hugh,
who is talking to Metro, said, honestly, I hated making it,
but you know what, I havelots of children and I need money.
He would have to say. Thefilming process was so hard, there
was so much CGI involved, andyou know what, the crown of Thorns,

(29:06):
as he puts it, was veryuncomfortable. Cameras everywhere making a big
fuss about him. He said, frankly, what they did with my body
was terrible, and it had allbeen replaced with an animator. But again,
I have a lot of kids.I need money. You know,
classic Q grant on honesty, notat all all of your celeb scoop at
West Michigan Star dot Com. Well, let's do it. It is time

(29:30):
to battle Battle of the Sexes hereon starving them five points seeven. And
of course it's all about the Christmasmagic at MCU Ballpark right now. Got

(29:55):

give me the top answer to today'sBattle of the sex is question, and
it tell abounds your work day,all right. One hundred guys were asked
to name the first thing someone doeswhen they get home from work. That's
the first thing someone does when theyget home from work. If it's me,
I'm asking what's for dinner? Andthat's just like a terrible thing to

(30:17):
say. My wife's response is,I don't know whatever you're cooking usually,
so I would recommend you don't dothat one. But hunter guys, ask
name the first thing someone does whenthey get home from work? Six one,
six, four five eight, oneoh five seven. Calling number seven
gets the first crack at it.And after that, I'm gonna take the
first right answer and get you hookedup with that car pass to the Christmas

(30:38):
Light Show. All right, hunterguys, ask name the first thing someone
does when they get home from work? Six one, six, four five
eight one oh five seven. Goodluck. It is the most wonderful time
of the year, especially when weget to hook somebody up a little Christmas
magic with our Christmas Light Show atLMCU ballpark. Hi Star, who's this?
That's a cherryl Share calling from allright, Cheryl, Let's see if

(31:03):

is to the bathroom. Yeah, walk right in the house. Hi,
everybody, Bye, everybody gotta hitthe bathroom. That happens for sure.

(31:23):
But no, somehow that's not onthe list. I'm sorry. Oh okay,
thanks, Hi Star, who's this? Hello? This is Tracy.
Hi, Tracy. I just gota great guest from Cheryl. A second
ago. One hundred guys were askedto name the first thing someone does when
they get home from work, andshe said, go to the bathroom.

(31:44):
Hurry up and get into that bathroom, where I'll then hide from the kids
for the next forty five minutes. That was not on the list though,
So Tracy, you got a chanceto win this light Christmas Light Show pass.

(32:08):

working all day long, maybe onyour feet all over the place, and
you walk in the door. Justwhat a cathartic feeling it is to take
those shoes off of a right?Yeah, so is she? That's the
tough answer. Congratulations, Yes,it was take your shoes off, followed

(32:35):

(32:55):
season long. Right here with Battleof the Sexes eight fifteen on Star one
five point seven. Sometime does thatget a good feeling? Well? I
had mentioned a new bird on theblock that is delighting most in Kentwood,
and that is Gary Junior. Hundredsof people have been following the exploits of

(33:19):
this turkey who calls a very importantintersection home. If you find yourself at
the corner of fifty second in Kalamazoo. That's Gary Junior territory. And as
it's said to Fox seventeen, everymorning, as the sun begins to rise,
a male turkey now referred to asGary Junior comes down from his bed
up in the trees and begins tosearch around for breakfast. After he's fed

(33:40):
and happy, he spends lots oftime doing well an assortment of different things.
Kathy Kucinski started a Facebook group forGary Junior, telling Fox seventeen it's
just something that people love to watch. He's following in his footsteps, the

(34:00):
same antics of stopping traffic, chasingcars, blocking people from getting out of
their driveways. So when she saysfollowing in his footsteps, she is talking
about the og, the original Garywho delighted people in Kentwood. Now Gary
passed away last year twenty twenty two. It was just a few short weeks

(34:22):
later people noticed a very similarly lookingbird taking up a residency. That's how
he got landed the name Gary Junior. Lots of people are following along with
this. The Facebook group has onepoint three thousand members and a parent excuse
me. According to Kathy, shesaid listen. This is what I would
say to Gary, and this iswhat I would say about Gary Para goes

(34:45):
to God when you're out and aboutrunning errands or coming to and from work
or school. It's like you wantto know, like if you're going to
have a Gary sighting today or not. Just slow down and enjoy life.
All the flowers are Smell the turkey. If you want to be a part
of this again, Gary Junior resideson fifty second in Kalamazoo and the Facebook

(35:07):
group is open to everyone. Justsearch Gary the Turkey. I mean,
honestly, Smitty Kathy has found herspirit animal. Am I right? And
she hasn't gotten to meet itim yet? She has actually has not officially.
She gets pictures, she gets video, and that's why she said, I've
been working on a Turkey call becauseas soon as we do cross paths,
I know exactly how I'm going togreet him. It's pretty good. You've
been practicing. Well done, Kathy, I smiddy this one. You know.

(35:30):
We talk about home is where theheart is and being home for the
holidays where a family is actually goingto get to experience that thanks to their
community who made it happen. AnnabelleMerricksign is her name, and she followed
her dream to become a special educationteacher here in the US. But to
do so, she had to leavenot only her home in the Philippines,

(35:52):
but her husband and her four yearold daughter had to be left behind as
well. Well. Her fellow teachersthat ib Jones Elementary School in Ashville,
North Carolina, found out that shehad been separated from her family and decided
they were going to do something aboutit. Kindergarten teacher Dina Wilson, along
with other staff members, started afundraising effort to help Annabel's family move to

(36:14):
the United States. Well, justa few months later, they had raised
enough money to pay for the move, and after a twenty four hour journey,
Annabel's husband and daughter just arrived inAsheville, North Carolina. And you
know, Annabel obviously over the moonthat her family is there with her in
time for the holidays, and sheknows they're excited to be here too.
They are also excited to experience alot of places in Asheville, and I

(36:38):
can see also to them that they'rereally excited to meet the people that they're
that helped meet. Yeah, that'sright. The people that helped bring them
here so they could be together, reunited as a family. But pretty special
feeling good comes at you twice aday. I always want to tell you
about something awesome going on out intheir world. Let's do it again on
Monday six forty five and nine twentyhere on Startinar five point seven and Schmidty

(37:00):
in the morning weekday starting at sixam on Star one oh five point seven
