Feelin Good - A Surprise Toy Delivery

It's a good feeling to know we're even closer to
the weekend. On this Thursday. Good morning, it's schmidty. And
we talk so much about this with our Helen devast
Children's Hospital Radiothon. Sometimes it takes a surprise delivery of
toys to boost those spirits for some of our tiniest fighters.
And yesterday hundreds of toys arrived at the Children's Hospital

(00:21):
of Michigan over on the East Side, bringing comfort and
joy to kids fighting cancer through a community wide donation effort.
That's one of the best parts of these stories. You
find out that it's just people from everywhere doing what
they can to remind our families, Hey, we've got you
anyway we can, You're gonna make it through this. So

(00:44):
yesterday the donation showed up with hundreds of toys aim
to bring light to kids battling cancer as well as
their families by their side, and that was something that
was not lost on Rachel Dobbs. Her daughter is a
patient at the hospital, and it was so moving to
see an entire community not just understand how hard it
is to go through something like this, but remember and

give out that joy.

Just a joy to see her have joy because her
strength gives me strength child life, coming in and helping,
just bringing some of her favorite things like art and legos,
and it's a huge blessing to her and for me,
his mom, just to see her breathe and smile and
not you know, worry about things so per seeing that
people care and that hospitals aren't scary, that they can

be welcoming and encouraging at times, and that definitely brings
me joy.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
It brings all of us joy, that delivery showing kindness,
which becomes a powerful symbol of hope for families facing
these diagnoses. Oh, it was such a cool moment. I've
