Feelin Good - Santa's New Ride

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, good morning, it's Schmidty and anytime we can find
one of Santa's helpers here in West Michigan, of course we're.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Going to tell you all about them. And we've got
a real good feeling the big guy is going to
love his new ride. All set for tomorrow night's Gentech's
Santa Parade in downtown Grand Rapids, and it's all thanks
to very very good friends of ours, Impact Power Sports
in Rockford. You guys will remember last year we did
this huge contest with them giving away one of their ATVs.

(00:30):
They do golf carts, they do it all and Drew
Campanelli and his family are just some of the kindest
out there. And you'll remember last year there was an
unfortunate breakdown of the trailer that helped bring Santa Sleigh
into the parade, like right before the parade happened. So
Drew thought, listen, my guys know all about fixing up

(00:52):
some of this high tech stuff. Why don't we take
a look and see if we can't help Sanna out. Well,
here's the deal, he tells Wood TV eight. This was
way worse than they thought.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Underneath, there was some severe damage. We've restructured the frame.
We had to put new tires on there. It needed
a lot of structural work underneath. You can see where
there's some damage. At some point I would say, we've
got one hundred plus hours into this and over four
thousand dollars in money to restore it.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
And that's exactly what they did restoring Santa's sleigh. It
was absolutely incredible. You heard Drew there, over one hundred
hours that his team worked on this, and it was
all to keep that memory alive for Drew.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
We couldn't have it any other way.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
I remember as a kid growing up being at that
very parade seeing this exact trailer, thinking how awesome this was,
and the thought of it being demolished and Santa not
having a sleay to be on or something different really
didn't sit well with us.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Well, and thank goodness it didn't, because now Sanna's got
a brand new ride and you will see it all
tomorrow night the Gentech's Santa Parade. Okay, things will kick
off at five, and don't forget the big announcement former
Detroit Lions wide receiver Herman Moore serving as the Grand
Marshal right before the big guy, big shout out to
