(00:03):
Wake up, wake him. Itgets my day going. It makes me
laugh. Mack and Schmidty in theMorning on Star one of five point seven.
Good morning, Welcome into Tuesday.Yes, right Tuesday here. Last
night something hit me. I sawit in a couple of different spots online,
but it was almost a little depressingto see that last night was the
(00:25):
first night with a sunset earlier thaneight pm. Yeah, head for the
entire summer. It doesn't it feellike it's gonna go fast now, It's
gonna be like seven thirty sunset, six fifty sunset, five thirty sunset,
Like yeah, well, you knowthat as soon as the what does it
fall behind? Comes our way, that's that's when it's like, Okay,
it's five forty and it is pitchblack outside now, and that's right around
(00:49):
the corner. So I mean, you know, upper sixties today, some
sunshine busting through this afternoon. Yougot to take advantage while it's here.
I was just talking to a friendof mine and she's like, oh,
I can't wait for the autumn equinoxmidsip. All of my Halloween stuff is
going up. And I'm like, say, I was gonna say, where
do you stand on your Halloween decorare you slowly adding pieces as the month
of September goes on? Or areyou are you just going to do it
(01:10):
all at one day. If wewere, if we were in town this
weekend, I'd put it up thisweekend. My son is begging me to
get her house. We've already gotthree neighbors with their entire displays up.
I'm not looking forward to having mystupid talking skeleton standing on my front porch
because I never remember that it's goingto scare the crowd out of me every
single time Smitty that thing. Yeah, it's the gift that keeps on giving.
(01:32):
Really, Yeah, but I am. I'm here the nap yesterday with
the windows open and the rain comingdown. I'm not trying to wish away
summer. I'm just saying I dolove the cooler Tims, movies, music,
and all the gossip in one place. It's the celebrity scoop on Star
one oh five point seven. Socomedian Amy Schumer was already in some hot
(01:53):
water over mocking Nicole Kidman and thenissued an apology yesterday, and I guess
put her back into more hot water. So we'll start when pictures of Nicole
Kidman watching the US Open on Saturday. We're posted online, and I mean
she looked a little off. Iguess nothing major. But Amy took the
(02:13):
picture and then posted this how humansit. She was almost immediately accused of
cyberbullying, with lots of people comingto Nicole's defense and saying, really,
are you cyberbullying? This post seemsbeneath you. What point are you trying
to make here to the point whereAmy had to issue an apology yesterday,
(02:34):
writing on her Instagram story, Iwant to apologize to all the people I
hurt posting a photo of Nicole Kidmanand alluding to her being an alien.
I will be asking the cast ofthat seventies show to write letters advocating for
my forgiveness hashtag taking time to heal. Both of those posts, Nicole Kidman
and the apology have since been deletedas of this morning. You know what,
(02:59):
I'm sorry, especially the Nicole Kidmanthing. If you want to say
it's inappropriate to make any of thejokes about the That's Hepny show, Okay,
it's not too much for my tastepersonally, but the Nicole Kidman thing,
as far as shots go, acrossthe bow. That's about the tamest
thing I would expect from or fromany stand up comedian for that matter.
It was a nothing burger. Well, it's interesting. Some people are like,
(03:20):
listen, lots of things have changedsince you started your joking career,
and you need to be a bitmore respectable. Maybe. Rexa is admitting
to feeling serious anxiety and stress abouthaving to hit the red carpet at tonight's
MTV Video Music Awards. They're dueto go down in New Jersey. She
posted to TikTok yesterday talking about howmuch nervous she is for the body shaming
(03:43):
to start. I want to startup by saying that I am very grateful
and blessed to be able to beinvited to these awards shows, to be
able to do what I love. And I know that the criticism comes with
the territory, so I'm all goodwith that. I mean, sometimes does
get to me. I am human, But I wanted just to talk about
(04:04):
this because I meet a lot ofpeople and a lot of times they'll be
like, oh my god, Ilove how you're all about body positivity and
confident, And let me tell youright now, I'm not feeling so confident.
I am so anxious and stressed aboutgoing on the Red carpet, and
I guess people talking about my weight, and she went on to say,
(04:27):
because I'm not really loving myself rightnow. She actually asked fans for any
motivational tips and tricks to try toget her through the evening. And it
is sad because she has been dealingwith this for a very long time and
people have been saying some really reallynasty things and man or woman, you
don't want to hear that stuff.Well, and it's tough too because everybody's
(04:48):
got their own hang ups on theirbody and their personal views of themselves.
But to have to put it ondisplay on a red carpet, like you
know, and then have everybody elsewith their bodies she's project onto you.
Yeah, little stressful. Finally, big news from actor Josh Duhamel, who
is expecting with wife Audra Murray. They made the announcement on both their instagrams
(05:10):
yesterday, sharing a picture of thesonogram and writing baby Duhamel coming soon.
The two were married just last yearand this is very sweet. Josh's ex
Ergie was really really happy for thecouple. She wrote under the Instagram.
I am truly happy for you guys. Axel absolutely cannot wait to be a
big brother. Of course, that'sthe son she shares with Josh from their
(05:32):
marriage. Very cool, very veryfunny. I like how you say his
last name. I don't know ifit's right, but me and my friends
have always said it like that.I just think it's so funny, like
Josh doing that. I'm sure it'swrong, but it just sounds so fast.
I'm over here like Josh Duhamel,Yeah, Dohamel, all of your
celeb Scoop at West Michigan Star dotcom and Shinny. Just a couple of
(05:53):
parents trying to figure it all outlike everybody else. And when it comes
to parenting, I'm glad you broughtup whether what a professional would say to
this, because I'm not sure ifthis is a good parenting move or like
a lot of things, we're justthrowing something at the wall and seeing if
it's sticks. Do you bribe yourkids for educational purposes, whether it be
for grades or to complete something, something along those lines, because I have
(06:15):
a new system for getting my kidsto read more, and it's really out
of frustration a little bit lack ofmotivation in other ways, because we wanted
them reading like crazy. All they'renot reading a ton right now, not
in our opinion, not in mywife, and I was bidding. My
wife is a very avid, avidreader. And when I was my kid's
age, I read NonStop. DifferentWorld. I get that. But our
(06:40):
kids had a requirement that they hadto read for half an hour every day
over the summertime. And they didthat, but it was really like checking
a box for them. And we'dnoticed that they weren't like reading books that
we thought were really amazing, booksthat we thought would inspire them their creativity.
Their teachers catch that. And youknow, my daughter was famous for
(07:01):
starting like five books at once andnot finishing any of them. She'd read
all of them halfway and them nevercomplete anything. So to combat this smitty,
I decided to start paying my childrenfor books, books that her mom
and I are our kids mom andI put together for them. So,
I mean all the Jerry Spinelli's ofthe World, all the World Doll books
on there, you know, theWhite Fang's hatchets, Red Fern Grows,
(07:25):
all the stuff that you were readingin fourth fifth grade kind of stuff,
and I'm gonna pay ten dollars forany book that is at least one hundred
pages on the list, and twentydollars for any book that's over two hundred
dollars on the list two hundred pages. Yet twenty bucks twenty book over two
hundred pages, and they have totake this little comprehension test at the end
(07:46):
to show that they actually read thebook and comprehended what was going on.
I don't think there's anything wrong withthat. I think it's great. My
daughter is off and running. Shethinks she has just struck gold fitty.
She thinks she has won the lotof with this. Do you think she'll
read all the way through? Shehas started to. She has started to,
And I think the thing that Ilike most about it is I know
(08:07):
what she's reading now in terms ofwhere from. So the first book that
she chose was Roll Dolls, Jamesand the Giant Peach because I said,
I really liked it, and shehad never read it, so, you
know, super easy read and afun book for your imagination. And I'm
fine with it. My wife's like, hey man, what if they read
a whole bunch of like, youknow, two hundred three hundred page books.
(08:28):
You know that's gonna be a lotof cash. I'm like, honey,
I think it winds up being likea dollar two dollars an hour.
And if that's what I gotta doto in like the spark something here,
right, I want to do it. If you like James and the Giant
Peach, though, I'd hold offon Where the Red Fern Grows because that
was one of the saddest books I'veever read in my life. It is
very you're looking for the uplifting ones, I'd save that one for lower on
(08:50):
the list. You didn't like theend of Old Yeller either, I bet
act also of Mice and Men anotherone that's really going to get you on
the soul, Lenny Lenny. Butyeah. I asked this question online about
you know what, you ever bribeyour kids for grades? And I was
shocked by how many people came atit like, no, never a bribe.
I got news for you. It'salways a bribe. The difference is
a technicality, and because a lotof people are saying it's a reward not
(09:13):
a bribe, I was never everpaid for anything related to school like that
is so shocking and out of mycomfort zone because it was just not something
we would I liked a lot ofparents that were commenting after a great report
card, we'll go to a nicedinner. But I was never. I
never. But I also never gotan allowance. But I would never get
(09:37):
paid for school stuff. Yeah,my mom was a fourth grade teacher.
Actually, as you know, inthe we were just expected like I had
to be on the honor roll orI was in trouble like one of her
job. And we are paying fora great education, but we're not going
to pay you for grades. Seethat's interesting. Stacy from Hudsonville said,
no, not happening, not paying. I expect them to do their best
(10:00):
the real world. You don't getpaid extra for what you should be doing
in the first place. Well,I agree, but there's a baseline level
of pay there, Stacy, whichis that carrot at the end of the
stick. So I mean, I'mnot sure that the lessons that you think
you're teaching are actually the lessons thatare there. I don't know. Room
and board. My mom was like, we've got a great roof over your
(10:20):
head. You're never going without yourfood on the table, Like this is
how it works, you know, and different things for different kids. Christine
from Antico said, yes, Ibribed the kids. For one kid,
it's a bribe. For the othertwo, it's a reward. Like you
just had to pick your battles asto which kid was doing it which way.
But then you're dealing with your kidsfighting over things like that. Yeah,
(10:41):
I don't know. I don't feellike it's a big difference in there.
I did appreciate Kyle though, whosaid he didn't bribe. He said
in reverse. I guess they weregrounded and things were taken away like TV
iPad iPods. Yes, we didit in reverse. Good grades met you
got your stuff back's yeah, Kyle, That's what I'm used to like.
You read your books. Great, you get an extra half hour of TV
(11:03):
time tonight. I like that.Yeah, that's pretty good. Patty Sunshine,
I really hope that's your last name. Patty from Grand Rapids. No,
but I bribed my kid to smilein his school picture once twenty bucks
sometimes because I get a good feelingif you're looking for him, pick me
up. You're in the right place, feeling good right now and start one
(11:24):
all five point seven. It's Mackand Schmidty and you know, we've said
it so many times, Retty,we just don't deserve dogs. And there's
a new employee for Mosquegin Public Schoolsover at Bunker Elementary School, the district's
first ever facility dog just started.Scouts, a one year old Labra noodle.
This thing a golden doodle. Excuseme, super super cute. But
(11:45):
more than that, Scout is trainedto help kids who are going through rough
times or having a lot of stressas they head back to school. Right
now, more than half of parentsconcerned about the mental health of their children.
According to Wedgwood Christian Services, We'veseen all this evidence about support dogs
and support animals and the good theycan do. And Scouts, on his
(12:07):
very first day, already off toa great start. According to Superintendent of
Public Schools Matthew Cortes, Scout justknows. It's amazing to watch the watch
Scout work. He can look atpeople and instantly tell and I don't know
how it happens, but he instantlycan just tell when somebody needs him by
their side, and he'll just walkup to the person. Yeah, just
(12:31):
super sweet. But Cortez went onto tell Fox seventeen that this is just
going to revolutionize how we can emotionallybridge that gap with a lot of our
students. Scout is actually part ofPriority Pups, brand new program from Priority
Health. He's actually been in trainingfor eight since he was eight weeks old.
Again, he's a year now,so we're talking over forty weeks of
(12:54):
training to get him ready for this. But here's the cool news. There
are forty five other dogs also currentlyin this training and they're hoping to be
able to expand it to five differentschool districts, so there might be a
pop coming to your kids. We'lldo If you have been following along with
this incredible rescue mission out of Turkey, rescuers finally pulling American researcher and cave
(13:15):
explorer Mark Dickey out of a Turkishcave last night, So if you have
not been following along, Mark isa super experienced cave person. He actually
went on this big expedition to mapa cave in southern Turkey's Tourists Mountains.
It's one of the deepest caves inthe world. Unfortunately, back on September
second, he got really really sickwith stomach bleeding. He started to actually
(13:41):
vomit blood and was quickly growing weakerand weaker, and realized by the next
day, when they were able toalert people on the surface, he was
not going to be able to getout of the cave on his own.
More than three thousand feet under theground, he was Finally he pulled out
last night, but not without aton of work. So get this.
(14:05):
The biggest challenge for rescuers were steepvertical sections of the cave. They'd navigate
through mud and water at very lowtemperatures. There was also a psychological toll
of staying inside a dark, dampcave for extended periods of time. They
actually had to send doctors down tohim in order to administer ivy fluids give
(14:26):
him blood transfusions. Before the evacuationcould even start. They had to widen
some of the cave's narrow passages andliterally pull him up on a stretcher more
than three thousand feet below ground. It's unbelievable. The team was more than
a hundred and ninety people from differentcountries that made this happen. When he
finally got to the surface last night, Mark had one thing to say,
(14:50):
it is amazing to be above groundagain. I bet I has been treated
at a local hospital as they figureout exactly what's going on. But just
wild. It was ten days theyhad been working to get him out of
this cave. I've been following alongwith the shimitty and I cannot even fathom
it. All right, You're morethan a half mile down in the earth
(15:11):
in a tiny little cave and superill, super super sick. He said
that he has huge gratitude to thecave rescuers that came from seven different countries
to make this such a successful rescueoperation. I'll be honest, it spelunking
in Turkey. You are very luckythat they decided to send all of those
resources to come and help you out, because that is some dangerous stuff right
(15:31):
there. But wow, amazing, feel like good always here. It's a
point, not the amazing. Nowwe'll do it again for you this morning
at nine twenty on Start one offive point seven movies, music and all
the gossip in one place. It'sthe Celebrity Scoop on Star one oh five
point seven. Well shout out tothe amazing folks at the Allegan County Fair
(15:52):
who I've been working with Nellie's teamand have now rescheduled that show he missed
over the weekend. He supposed tobe at the Fair Saturday night. According
to his team, inclement weather forcedhis plane to be held up on a
runway, but the Elegant County Fairexecs announced yesterday he is coming back this
Thursday night, So the rescheduled concertstarts at seven thirty pm. Plus you'll
(16:18):
get to see comedian at Steve Trevino, who's actually going to start the show.
If you bought tickets for Saturday's showthis past weekend, all tickets from
the original date will be honored forthis Thursday's show. You also got an
email that has a Google form tofill out in case you cannot make this
Thursday's show and would like that refund. But very very good news that Nellie
(16:41):
will be back in West Michigan.Yeah, Bike shout out to them for
making that work so quickly, toturn it around like that. I know
a lot of fans were disappointed whenit happened at last minute like that.
They haven't working really really hard tomake this figured out. It's good.
I also think it's smart of SteveTrevino to not go after Nelly. I
think that's a hard thing. It'svery tough to get back into comedy after
(17:02):
people have just gone, oh youheard that, and then it's over bed.
No, you put a comedian beforeand act every time. All right,
let's talk about this wild escaped murdererin Pennsylvania. If you have been
following along, Danello Cavalcante is anescaped prisoner in Pennsylvania. He broke out
a prison nearly two weeks ago andhas been spotted but still eluding authorities.
(17:26):
The latest sighting came last night inChester County's South Coventry Township. Now law
enforcement is warning that he has cleanshaven, he stole a board transit,
and may be armed. Dog thebounty hunter, wants to be on the
case. According to sources, hehas been watching this for the past two
(17:48):
weeks very closely, and he's beenmonitoring the case and now wants to make
sure he cannot be of any furtherhelp, which means boots on the ground.
Apparently, Dog's been making a tonof phone calls over the past several
days, both to law enforcement sourceshe has in PA as well as contacts
that he has elsewhere. The bigthing he is considering flying to Chester County
(18:08):
as early as the next couple ofdays to kind of be on the ground
and figure this out. The onlything that's holding him up is the search
area. He doesn't have the bestsense for lay of the land yet,
and he says he's not super familiarwith the area. But if he can
get a proper plan together, he'sgoing to head out, start looking and
add to that search effort because nowauthorities are wondering if he's actually escaped outside
(18:33):
of their search area. It's reallyscary stuff. I am fascinated by a
prison break story and the amount ofheadlines involving how this guy crab walked his
way out of Yale is right behindthe deputy who has since been fired from
that job. Finally, did youwatch Monday Night Football last night? I
know, Lyons and Packers fans, you actually might enjoy this a little bit.
(18:56):
It was Aaron Rodgers big debut forthe New York Jets that only lasted
four plays. It was the firstdrive for the Jets, and unfortunately Aaron
went down. He had the calfissue in training camp. But here's a
little better look as far as whatmight have happened for him to go back
(19:18):
down to the ground. He's comingout of a game. It's really interesting.
He's definitely got an ankle problem whenyou see the video of this.
We did get an update last nightfrom Jets head coach saying it's not good.
It looks as though Rogers may havesuffered an achilles injury, which wouldn't
(19:41):
necessarily be just season ending, thatcould be career ending. He scheduled for
a bunch of tests, MRIs andmore X rays today. Yeah, it's
gonna be tough because Aaron did talka ton about how he was really torn
about retiring or going to give itone more run with the Jets. Yeah,
an injury like this kind of tipthose scales pretty at least, it's
rough. I've got the video foryou with your scoop West Michigan Star dot
(20:03):
com starting a five point Chevin.Good morning to you. It's Mack and
Schmidty. And you know, justlike the little cherubs, the little angels,
they are the least helpful out there. Yep, yep. I had
quite the afternoon yesterday. I havereally never had car issues, not like
this. I'm very thankful, butit finally got me yesterday because I am
(20:29):
driving my Subaru, which to befair, is thirteen years old, which
is not a lot for a Subaru. Like, I've got to say,
I would love to never own anythingother than a Subaru. Ever. Again,
like there's some of the highest ratof vehicles are on the road forever,
and I think she's probably a littleunder one hundred and thirty thousand miles,
which again is not a big dealfor a Sumer. So I pick
(20:49):
Will up from school yesterday. Chrishas gone, so I've got both kids
in my car and I'm waiting inthe pickup line for maybe ten minutes.
My car is fine, not abig deal. He comes outside and we're
maybe five minutes from my house. So I go to pull out of his
school and my car starts doing thisvery weird thing where I go to accelerate
(21:10):
and make my right turn, butinstead it kind of makes that revving sound
where you press the accelerator when you'rein park, and it's not doing much,
and I'm like, okay, Sothen I try it a little bit
more and it continues to do thisthing, which, to be fair,
used to be the problem with myimpula. I guess most people call it
an impala. I called it animpula, and I would just like pop
the hood and jiggle a few chords. That with my high school car.
(21:32):
So it's like, I can handlethis. This isn't a problem. So
I pulled off to the side ofthe road and tried kind of fiddling with
it. I thought, maybe mygearshift is weird. Whatever. That's when
Will, my five year old, starts to get very concerned. She's like,
Mom, what's going on? Isaid, nothing, Bud, just
the car's acting a little weird.First question, are we going to die?
And I don't know where this obsessionwith death has come from. I
(21:53):
think the check in minutes, wellright, maybe normal. I guess at
five and six where you start hearingthat word, but you he doesn't know
what it means still, he justknows if things are serious. The first
thing he asks, are we goingto die? So I was like,
no, buddy, I'm just tryingto figure out what we're doing here.
Big relief, just getting that oneout of the way so I know what
to expect here. Then I turnedmy car off and I figure, just
(22:15):
give it a few seconds, I'llturn it back on. Well now,
I put it into drive and itjust slowly rolls backwards and then I park
it and I try to put itand drive again, and it does the
same thing. And then I seesome smoke coming out from under the hood,
and I'm like, oh, sothis is really serious. Awesome.
It's not like I haven't been hitwith every possible financial hurdle in the last
(22:37):
three days. And I'm like, okay, car's got to get turned off.
This isn't good. Now. Will'sfreaking out. He goes, Mom,
cars aren't supposed to smoke. What'sgoing on? I said, I
don't know, buddy, but it'sall right. We're gonna be fine.
And then he looks at me,deadpanned, and he goes, you know,
Mom, this wouldn't happen if yourcar wasn't so old. Oh,
I mean it is to be fairto him, almost three times as old
(23:00):
as he is. And I said, you know what, Will, You've
got shoes on and a backpack ifyou would like to walk the rest of
the way home. Your legs arenice and young. As I'm counting to
ten in my head to keep myselfcalm at this point, my two year
old is sick of being in hercar seat and wants to get out.
We are pulled to the side ofa busy road. I have no idea
(23:21):
what to do. I had tocall my best friend who came to pick
us up. My daughter has noshoes on, Like we were just gonna
go pick Will up from school.I looked like a nomad. I'm pulling
backpacks and lunch boxes and a bananaI found in the back seat, so
thea has no shoes on. Will'scontinuing to ask if we're gonna die.
And on top of everything else,it is pouring rain. It is down
(23:44):
pouring. Oh and nothing makes youfeel even sadder about a situation then the
kind of rain you see in asitcom running and Will's just like, oh
no, has the car gonna getstolen? I'm like, what is happen?
Are you? What are you watchingthat? These are all of the
things you seem to think will happen. So when was your child super duper
(24:07):
helpful in a stressful situation? BecauseI know today he's gonna get to kindergarten
and tell everybody that our old cardied because mom can't buy a new one.
Not to mention in the middle ofall this, we're right down the
street from his school. Every singlefriend and parent of his is passing us
on the side of the road asmy car is smoking. I was gonna
say the only thing. I mean, your kids are driving your nuts in
(24:30):
that moment. You're in a superstressful moment. They're asking you questions that
have no relevance. Some one openedthe banana and someone takes down their window,
or one of your kids, youknow, one of your kids friends
parents is like everything, okay, over there, you guys need a jump.
That's just like your kids offering help, only you can't respond with any
type of blow up or any typeof appreciated Yeah. Oh, I mean,
(24:52):
it's so infurious. He's they try, They really try. I just
so I had no idea. Sophiasits still okay. Mom's going through something
right now. She doesn't want anyof this because I just got a text
from my husband. They woke upto get ready for school and really immediately
looked out us window and goes,oh, gosh, the car is still
(25:14):
gone. It's probably gone forever, han dad, And I'm like, you
just go to school and learn aboutJesus, patience and virtue. Schmitty call
Dad's gone. Is the last threedays of taking it out of me.
Honestly, there's there's situations like that, and then there's just the opportunity when
you're stub your toe and your childasked you if you're okay, and you
want to heave them across Yeah theroom. No I'm not okay. Yeah,
(25:37):
it was fabulous. So we'll getworking on that. But I'm sure
that my lovely kindergartener will continue tohave beautiful gems of positivity to throw my
way. Seven. Your car andyour phone are both shot right now.
I can't imagine at all while you'reshy, so salty. Yeah, so
(25:57):
if you've been following a lot withanother piece in my journey here, I've
been without my usual phone since Wednesdayof last week. I was working on
some stuff for work on social media. All of a sudden, it he
just went dark, black screen ofdeath. Couldn't get it to charge,
couldn't get it to turn on.After spending hours with various forms of tech
support, I took it in toa repair place here that notified me the
(26:22):
following day it's not a battery issue. It's my entire motherboard. My entire
motherboard died fried. I don't eventwenty twenty three didn't know that was the
thing. I believe that the motherboardis in your phone in my head though
that belongs in part of a spaceshiplike I don't. So they had told
me last week Thursday morning, thatthey were going to have to ship out
for a new motherboard. It wasgoing to take two to three days,
(26:45):
two to three, which I wasalready like, fine. So I've been
working off of a phone Chris foundin our junk drawer from twenty fourteen,
which only allows me to call, text and use Instagram sixty percent of the
time. That's all I have onthis phone. And I know it sounds
like first world problem, but somuch of our work is connected to what
we do digitally. It has beenvery, very frustrating, and I heard
(27:07):
nothing back from this repair place. And I finally call yesterday because as of
tomorrow it'll be a week without aphone. I'm like, hey, super
kind and polite mister repair man, just wondering where's my mother board? And
I immediately get the who is this? I go, awesome, So I
give my name. I hear himclicking around and he goes, yeah,
(27:30):
I do think it is still onits way. I was like, you
think it's on its way? Youcan't track. Have you have you lost
it? He goes, no,right, this is not how I want
to hear you talking about it.There's no we're pretty sure this is where
it's at. It is not here, so your phone cannot be fixed.
(27:55):
I go, is it in America? Or is this something that's getting shipped
from overseas? Followed by long pauseand I do think it came over here.
I think it is. I thinkit's probably on the East Coast and
it should be shipped in the nextcouple of days. You know, we
were talking about our kids having perfecttiming with this. When somebody's making mouth
(28:15):
noises and giving you the ums andohs as they're breaking terrible news to you,
doesn't it make it just so muchworse. It just builds the tension
that much morning. It's like, are you taking this as seriously as I
am? Am? I going toget a phone back and to hear it
tells me no, m M,So you're just gonna he has no idea
(28:37):
when this is gonna happen. Ifeel like at this point most places would
essent you a new phone already thoughtthat will be happening today. I am
going to call with my best speakto your manager voice, and we are
going to be getting this rectify saltyKaren back next Tuesday morning. Really so
salty. Yeah, you'll have tochange the haircut a little bit though.
(29:00):
Why movies, music and all thegossip in one place. It's the celebrity
scoop on Star one oh five pointseven. Well suspended Michigan State head football
coach Mel Tucker officially releasing a statementyesterday afternoon over details about the alleged sexual
harassment he is being investigated for.A Tucker continues to deny all of the
(29:25):
allegations made by Brenda Tracy, sayingher allegations are completely false. According to
some of this statement, he saysthey developed a mutual friendship that grew into
an intimate adult relationship. He adds, at this point, my wife and
I had been estranged for a longtime. Miss Tracy and I engaged in
dozens of calls throughout fall twenty twentyone and winter twenty twenty two, many
(29:48):
of which she initiated and which occurredlate at night. We both talked about
all sorts of intimate private matters. She told me that I could trust her,
and I proceeded to do just thattalking about one of the biggest allegations
Tracy is making about some explicit thingsthat went down on a phone call.
Tucker's statement said it was an entirelymutual, private event between two adults living
(30:11):
at opposite ends of the country. He says that she initiated the discussion that
night, she sent provocative pictures ofthe two of us together, suggested things
like what she might look like withoutwearing clothes, and never once during that
thirty six minutes did she object inany manner. Well, it did not
take long for Brenda Tracy to respondto the statement, saying, this is
(30:36):
just more of the same Darvo deflection, victim blaming and lies that I've been
dealing with now four months. CoachTucker has been delaying and trying to stop
the investigative process since the beginning.I mean, there's gonna be a whole
lot of back and forth, Ifeel like here, but at the end
(30:56):
of the day, that's what thisinvestigation is for, and then there's going
to be an investigation into how thisinvestigation was handled. And ultimately I think
it really doesn't matter. You madesome really poor choices. At a minimum,
at a very minimum, baseline, you made some really really poor choices
that could get you fired from yourjob, and you knew that. And
(31:17):
the university has also understood. Nowthey're getting a lot of questions about this
timeline. Almost ten months of thisgoing on before anybody was made aware is
not sitting well with lots of peopleat the university. Britney Spears's rumored new
boyfriend is calling her a quote phenomenalwoman. So reportedly Britney has been getting
(31:37):
very close with Paul Richard Sealise. He is her former housekeeper. Remember all
those rumors about her and SMS GARIsplitting up, and there was talk that
it was someone on her staff thatshe had been carrying on with. This
is you? A lot of peoplethink it is. Apparently. US Weekly
says that Sealise is opening up aboutthe relationship, saying, Britney is an
absolutely phenomenal woman. She's a veryvery good positive force. She is a
(32:02):
good person and is doing quote greatamid her divorce of her husband of fourteen
months. I here's the other sideof Salise, though he does have quite
an extensive criminal record, telling USWeekly, listen, I'm not a bad
dude. I understand the things havebeen said about me in the past,
and I do have a criminal record, I get it. I'm a working
man. I own my own business. I do a licensed contractor technique tile
(32:27):
and I am working on fixing myself. Oh good, that's what Bretyeah.

you can do everything in your powerto rectify it as fast as possible.
And that's all of your seleb scoop, including all the details you might need
for that show. West Michigan Stardot Com sit this time to battle Battle
(33:35):
of the Sexes. Trying to getthe family on for some fun this weekend.
You've got hot Wheels, Monster Trucks, live glow party going down,
and you got to like, we'recool stuff too that you call like in
the black light, and that wouldbe very sweet. Isn't it awesome when
you see your shoes glow in waysyou know you didn't even think about,
like all of a sudden, you'vegot these awesome shoes to show off.
(33:55):
Oh yeah, all right, we'relooking for today's number one answer and you
could be there glowing. One hundredwomen surveyed. Tell me a situation that
makes just about everybody nervous. WhenI'm at the dentist and the hygenis goes,
hang on just one second, I'mgonna go get the dentist. We'll
talk to you about this. That'swhen I get nervous. Right there is
(34:17):
this just a nice conversation about howgreat my teeth are or are we talking
root canal? I'm I'm gonna sayany social situation. I'm I'd like to
think I'm an extrovert, but whenI have to go and meet someone new,
I've seen you turn it out. You're good. Give me, Give
me a vodka soda in alignment,an early bedtime. Don't drive all right?
(34:37):
Six one, six, four, five, eight one five. Seven
hundred women surveyed tell me a situationthat makes just about everybody nervous. Caller
seven, first shot at the numberone answer, and you're headed to Monster
Truck, Hot Wheels Live. Goodmorning, Starry. Who's this carry?
Kent Carry from Kentwood. How areyou this morning? Yes, I'm good.
(34:59):
How are you doing well? Carrie? A hundred women were asked to
tell me a situation that makes justabout everyone nervous. What do you get
most nervous about, Carrie? Thisdoesn't have to be your answer. I'm
just curious what you get nervous about? A police officer driving behind me?
You know what? The moment that'sworst, the worst to me is when
the lights come on behind you. That's when that wave of panic of like
(35:22):
what did I do wrong? Yeah? It's coming over me. That's the
part I hate. That's a goodguess right there, But is it the
tomp answer. We'll have to see, Carrie. When one hundred women were
asking that question, tell me asituation that makes just about everybody nervous?
What do you think, the topanswer was, Oh, I'm between two.
I'm going to say going to thedoctor, though we're gonna say going
(35:44):
to the doctor. What was theother one? Just out of curiosity the
police officer behind me? Okay, okay, I just wanted to check the
doctor. Neither of them are thetop answer. I am sorry. The
police officer one great guest, butit's not even on there. And doctor
appointment is actually the number four weremost common answers. Okay, all right,
thank you so much. Good guesses, though, Hi star, who's
(36:07):
this? Which is April? April? I kind of let Kerry give me
two guesses to get him out ofthe way there, But neither of them
were the top answers. You gota shot here. One hundred women were
asked to tell me a situation thatmakes just about everybody nervous. She said
when you get pulled over, andshe also said doctor's appointment. Yeah,
yeah, exactly. We all it'snot a good feeling when you get pulled
(36:28):
over. Everybody's a little nervous. But neither of those were the top answers.
So what do you think it is? Oh my gosh, both of
those were my answers. But howabout I'm gonna give you a hint here.
How about I give you a hint. Okay, your hint is that
a lot of people would say itwas one of the most nervous days of
their life. Wedding wedding? Wereyou nervous before you got married? I
(36:52):
don't even know if you are married. Are you married? I was?
You were, so you were rightfullynervous. Maybe I was. Yeah,
fair enough, everybody's nervous on theirwedding day. That's the top answer.
Congratulation that bossup. Thank you.Yeah, you got four tickets to go
check out Hot Wheels and Monster Truck'slive glow party this weekend. Congrats,
(37:15):
that's awesome. Thank you so much. You're very welcome. We'll do it
again tomorrow soon, have a chanceto win Battle of the Sexes eight fifteen
here on Star sometime. Because Iget a good feeling. We all need
more of the good in our lives. We're trying to point it out for
you each and every morning. It'sfeeling good right now and starting a five
(37:36):
point seven. I'm sure there areplenty of football loving partners that, if
they had the guts, would serveup the same letter. Callie J.
Wilson is her name. She livesin Salt Lake City and has on gone
viral at TikTok for the resignation letterher husband gave her last week. Callie,
this is to inform you that twoweeks from today is the start of
(37:57):
the NFL season. The past monthsI have been an engage loving, helpful
and thoughtful husband and father. However, I must wit this inform you that
I am putting it in my twoweeks notice. I will no longer be
available for work on Sundays ten amto ten pm, Minday evenings north Thursday
evenings to the conflicting commitments. I'llalso be available every Saturday due to completing

can go to bed earlier. ThatI just love. Sorry, we're short

(39:07):
He did preface with like I've beena really loving, carrying, thoughtful
husband for months now. That wasawesome. All right, Jeretti, this
is pretty crazy. You know thatlike wildlife live cams that they seem to
have up all of the Internet thesedays, Well, one of them just
saved demands of life in southwest Alaska, the kat May National Park and Preserve.
(39:27):
People watch bears on live cam allthe time. It's a very very
popular live cam online. Well, some folks were watching it and all of
a sudden they saw a soaking wetguy approached the camera and start speaking really
frantically. They got nobody could hearwhat the guy was saying. It's not
set up for sound or anything likethat. It's just the camera. But
pretty quickly they alerted and contacted thewebsite explore dot org to let them know
(39:52):
about that lost hiker. Well, following that tip, they hit up park
rangers there at cat May National Parkand it turns out that gentleman had been
lost for quite some time and wasin desperate need of help. So they
actually sent somebody out there and foundhim thankfully because of that live camp,
and were able to get him outof there for safety. The Katmay National
(40:14):
Park went ahead and said that theyhad to thank all of those viewers online
for looking out and doing the rightthing contacting them right away, and that
they likely saved this guy's life. And they also said my favorite part was
that he was extremely lucky that therewere people watching, because Fat Bear season,
when they are at their highest streamingtotals, isn't for several more weeks,
(40:36):
so during that time he would haveprobably been fine, but right now
he was lucky that there were peopleactually watching the camps. I don't know
if I ever want to be someoneknown as, oh gotta be ready for
my Fat Bear season viewing. Whatare you doing? I'm watching Fat Bears
