Good morning, and welcome to your Thursday. The news you
need to start your day. It's the West Michigan Wake

Well it's rare I kick off with sports. Good morning,
It's Schmidty. But this story is huge. It was announced
yesterday afternoon University of Michigan football coach Sharon Moore is out.

The university says he was fired with cause due to
an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. According to a
statement from the university, this conduct constitutes a clear violation
of university policy and UVM maintains zero tolerance for such behavior.
We don't have a ton of information here. The staffer

has not been identified. According to sources, it was an
anonymous tip to the school that led to an investigation
that uncovered this relationship. But just moments before that news
went public, Pittsfield police were called to an apartment complex
in ann Arbor and Moore was arrested for assault. He
is actually booked at the Washingtonawk County Jail. As of

this morning, charges have not been made public. But this
is wild information. More as a married father of three.
We will definitely have some more details later. On this morning.
The Federal Reserve has cut interest rates in a very
narrow vote yesterday, dropping that baseline interest rate down to
a range of three point five to three point seventy five.

That's a reduction of point two five percentage points. And
doctors in Michigan are supporting a package of bills in
Lansing that would encourage vaccine access and information amid some
pretty big rollbacks of recommendations on the federal level. This
is the Committee to Protect Healthcare. They say more than
two hundred and sixty doctors have signed a letter of support.

Doctors here in West Michigan say vaccines are still available,
but they're very worried that the rollback on recommendations could
lead to serious health complications. They're also saying their confident
insurance companies will continue to cover these vaccines. They understand
the impact they have had on public health. These bills
will apparently help to inform the public more about the

importance of those vaccines. Taking a quick look at your sports,

was good news on the national level as well. The
