President Donald Trump in some hot water after calling for
Michigan US Senator Alissa Slotkin, along with other Democratic lawmakers
to be arrested and possibly executed over their remarks in
a recent video urging members of the US military and
intelligence community to refuse unspecified illegal orders. In a message

to his truth social the President says this is seditious behavior,
punishable by death. In response, many of these Democratic members,
who have also served in the military or as intelligence officers,
say their offices have been inundated with death threats and
other nasty calls and emails. This is Lissa Slotkin talking

He is trying to use fear as a weapon. He's
trying to distract us from whatever he doesn't want to
talk about, the Epstein files or whatever else. But he's
also trying to intimidate people out of criticizing him. That's
the entire game here. And then he's trying to intimidate
people in his party to keep quiet even when he
does things that violate our norms, and he's he can

wheel that on some, but it just doesn't work for
people who have served and have done other dangerous things
in our lives.

A funeral service for former Vice President Dick Cheney held
yesterday at the Washington National Cathedral, where dozens of dignitaries gathered.
It included former Presidents Joe Biden and George W. Bush, whom,
of course, Cheney served as a Vice president under from
two thousand and one to two thousand and nine. Both
Biden and Bush joined by their partners, former First Ladies
Joe Biden and Laura Bush, noticeably absent. Both President Trump

and Vice President Vance, a White House official telling the
AP they were not invited. Former President Barack Obama and
former First Lady Michelle Obama also not in attendance, though
Obama's did list a statement saying, although Cheney and I
represented very different political traditions, I respected his lifelong devotion
to public service and his deep love of country. If
