Speaker 1 (00:00):
Start one oh five point seven. Hey, good morning and
welcome to the feel good variety of the eighties till
now it is Schmidty on this Thursday. You know what,
I had it so positive feeling I did. I was like, man,
it's weekend, the eve. We're so close. It's gonna be
a ton of fun on Saturday. I'm gonna be out
at Adity's on Ottawa Downtown gr And then I got
a text like twenty minutes ago from my husband Chris,
(00:22):
and he's like, hey, someone hacked into one of our
accounts and needs you to like jump on our bank
app dispute the charge, change all the things, and it
just ah, there is nothing I almost I'll say almost
nothing I hate more than white collar crime. Like I'm
(00:44):
actually on TikTok Live right now if you want to
follow me at Schmidt in the Mitt and I'm talking
to the people on here, like has this happened to you?
Because I feel like the goal it takes someone to
steal from other people just get a job right. We're
all doing it, We're all attempting to do it. Unless
you're a trust fund baby, you're out here with an
alarm set, maybe going to a nine to five, maybe
(01:05):
with a side hustle, working part time, working out of
your home. Like stop, I just and it goes back
a few years ago. We got hit so hard. I
think I've talked about this before. We had a bathroom
remodel we had to do, hired a brilliant contractor, very
highly recommended, took our money and ran. We were out
thousands of dollars, and I'm just like, and then I
(01:27):
go to small claims court for this, and I realize
how many other people have had this happen, And I'm
just like, what is it with people thinking they're entitled
to steal your stuff? Quit hacking into people, quit taking
stuff that's not yours. It's like y'all didn't get taught
the Golden Rule when you were kids, and it shows.
So I'm just I'm feeling a little bit stressed out
because now it's going to lead into this whole thing.
(01:49):
I was talking this woman on my TikTok Live. She said,
this happened to me just a few months ago, and
it's not even in the moment that's as annoying as
all of the later stuff. You got to call your bank,
change your cards, oh anything you had autopaid that's got
to be changed direct depositing. Like there's just days and
days of work after this. For come on, for what?
(02:13):
I take a look I work at iHeart. I don't
even have very much money. Like you're not hitting the
victim you think you are. Six one six four five
eight one oh five seven. I'm curious if you've ever
had this happen to you, you've been hacked, You've had
your identity stolen, and what was the outcome, or if
you have a really good idea or good piece of
(02:36):
advice you've learned for protecting yourself other than changing every
single password every like fifteen days. Because I'm also here
to tell you I can barely remember my work computer password.
There's just no way I'm not going to change all
of them all the time, or I'm going to be
writing them down in a notebook that someone's going to
steal and then have all of the access to my identity.
(03:00):
Five seven. Ugh, I've been hacked. We would love some
good news. Maybe you figured something out that keeps that
from happening. All right, love you guys. Listen, coming up
seven thirty We're gonna get you into thirty eight special
We have been all about the iconic shows. They're taking
over Soaring Eagle in just a few weeks. So you
want to win seven thirty on star Win Oh five
