Back to the Craig Way Show.Connect with Craig through the text line by
texting son eight three zero followed byyour message. The standard message and data
rates may apply, so the textline and see. And this is why
we offer the text line to youhelp us out. You have clearly figured

(00:28):
out that we do not have allthe answers. We didn't even have a
lot of the answers. You know, I don't know that we have any
answers these thoughts, pinions. Maybeanswered a trivia question or something like that,
but clearly we don't have the answersto a lot of the pressing questions
like Cameron asking kind of almost rhetorically, why Prince Harry received an award at

(00:53):
the Espies, and someone on thetext line let us know that that's because
he helped to organize them Victis Gamesfor Wounded Warriors. Very cool, Okay,
very cool, So thank you forthe help on that, and yes,
very deserving for that honor was PrinceHarry. Somebody else pointed out,

(01:15):
I don't know that they go thisfar, but they said the sps are
more unwatchable than Bobcat gold Weight.I'm not a big watcher of award.
Shows in general, But I don'tknow that it's more watchable than bobcat Goldthwaight
not really familiar with Bob ca O. Good lord. Do you ever see

(01:40):
the movie Scrooged with Bill Murray ChrisScrooged. It's it's a Christmas movie where
he's basically a modern day Ebenezer Scroogehas a television producer, Bill Murray.
Bobcak Goldthwaite is like kind of theBob Cratchett character gets kind of screwed over
in the deal, but he isis that really squeaky? He is very

(02:04):
very You can't do that unsettling voice. Yeah, I can't do that,
Okay. So anyway, it's acomedian. So anyway, that's that's how
that is on that. What abizarre story this was. You know who

(02:27):
Texas opens the football season against onAugust thirty first, correct, Colorado State?
Yeah? Do you see this storytoday about Colorado State quarterback Braiden Fowler
Nicolosi. According to Jay Norvell, the head coach the Colorado State former Texas

(02:47):
assistant m HM, he said thatBraiden Fowler Nickelosi received a six hundred thousand
dollars offer from Kansas State to enterthe transfer portal. Here was his quote.
He said, a guy from KansasState called him, offering him six

(03:07):
hundred thousand dollars because they lost theirquarterback if he got in the portal.
And I'm not accusing Kansas State ofanything. I'm just telling you what the
kid told me. Now, itcould have been any No, it could
have been somebody representing their nil orwhatever that sort of thing. Yeah,
that's that's a little nuts. Youknow, most of the most of the

(03:34):
responses all come on, come on, really for that guy, really,
for that guy. So I mean, we're getting to the point, Craig
and many people, i think evencoaches have said this before that it's it's
going to get to seven eight figuresteams offering quarterbacks from other teams to enter
the transfer portal and come join them, especially like a Kansas State program to

(03:58):
lose out. And Will Howard wasa great quarterback who's now going to Ohio
State, right, and this thiswelcome to this new age of college football.
Braden Vaaler and Nicolosi Balawy former AlitoBearcat, you know, or at
least his birthplace was there. UhAnd so yeah, anyway, that's that.

(04:20):
That was just I thought it wasa bizarre story to come out there
to say that, but but hedid. I don't know if you saw
this also this this was pretty funny. I thought the the the ESPN college

(04:42):
football games coming out this weekend, right, I think this weekend. I
think it's this weekend something Monday.Yeah. In fact, there was a
tweet on ants whatever from Bejon Robinsonsaying, normally I'm excited about the weekend,
but I'm waiting for this thing orMonday, come on, get here,
get here. He's really interested inthe game. He's very much interested

(05:05):
in the game. And today onething that started to leak out was the
ratings, the college football twenty fiveratings that came out. And if you're

(05:27):
interested in long worn ratings, now, I only watched my son's play this
game. I never played this game, so I don't know. You have
to tell me, although I thinkthese are I mean, obviously, if
you're grading on the scale up twohundred, this it makes sense, Quinn
you wers grading is the ninety two? Is that a That's a pretty good

(05:49):
rating, isn't it. Yeah?He might be, if not the highest
rated quarterback one of the top twoor three. Okay, arch Manning is
an eighty seven, Yeah, havingpretty nice. I scarcely taken a few
snaps on that. Isaiah Bond eightyeight, Silas Bolden eighty six, Matthew

(06:10):
Golden eighty six, C J.Baxter eighty seven, Trade Moore eighty nine,
Andrew Hill eighty six, Andrew mccoobaeighty nine, Milke Muhammad eighty seven.
Those were something. Orange Bloods putthat out there for folks to see
that looks like yours is behind CarsonBeck and Shador Sanders. They who else's

(06:35):
He's not even the highest rated Longhorn. Yeah, Callen Banks with a ninety
four there and again on the OrangeBloods that put that out there and to
show people on that that sort ofthing. So I found that interesting and
a little bit humorous there on thatfor those who are are you really interested

(07:01):
in it? Really interested in thecollege football game? That's some advanced knowledge
on it, all right. Itold folks that we were wanting to tell
them how to win a copy ofDave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine. I mentioned
this on the air for the firsttime yesterday on how to Win It,
because we did get the annual shipmentin magazines, and they maybe on We

(07:29):
used to say news stands. Ichallenge you to find a new stand here
in the Greater Austin area other thanat the airport. And even at the
airport, it's not so much anews stand as it is like almost like
a convenience store. That's good. They still have new stands in a lot
of places in the big metropolitan areasand cities, but in the supermarkets,

(07:49):
and I think of Walmart and someof the other places. I think hib
I've seen them in HIB before. Now I've not looked to see if this
year's edition is already on there. The other day, a couple of days
ago, we had Greg temper on, the managing editor of Dave Campbells Texas
Football Magazine, and he said thatthey supposedly were en route from the trucks.

(08:15):
He said, what that means beyondthat, I can't tell you.
I don't know what you know whenit gets there and delivery. We're told
that the magazines were on the trucks, so they're probably if they're not already
in the stores, they're probably inthe stores by this weekend. But we're
going to give you a chance towin a copy, and it's actually it
involves less luck than any way we'veever done it in the past, when

(08:37):
it was over at the other place, when I was here before that,
going all the way back to nineteenninety eight. That was the first year
we started giving those away in ninetyeight. And it usually back in the
earlier days involved people calling in forit with a question or this or that.
Then of the past decade or so, it's just been like number caller,

(09:01):
like eighth caller, tenth caller, fourth call or whatever. This is
going to involve you be more thanjust calling in saying I want the magazine.
We have a feature where you canreach out to the program. Obviously,
we we always talk about the textsthat we get on the text line,

(09:24):
but we have another way for youto reach the program. It's the
talk back feature, and it involvesfree download. It's free downloading the iHeartRadio
app and on that you pull upthirteen under the zone and then there's a
little red button on there that hasa little microphone on it and you can

(09:46):
record up to thirty seconds a messageand then send it to us. So
the way this is going to workis you're going to tell us in thirty
seconds or less what you like bestabout the magazine that the College Preview?
Is it the cover? Is itthe gatefold cover, which in this case
is father and son, Gary Josephand Jeff Joseph, state championship coaches both

(10:11):
throughout in their careers. Is itthe high school football section? Is it
the college football section? They nolonger have the NFL section. They had
to keep it at four hundred pages. And with the ever growing number of
collegiate football programs as well as highschool programs, I'll tell you one of
my new favorite things, and Caamand I discussed this the logos of the

(10:31):
high school programs that they put intheir rankings. For those of you watching
on YouTube, you can see thatright down there. So that's pretty cool.
So whatever you like best about it. But this is going to start
next week when we're in Dallas forSEC Football Media Day. So we're going
to give away several copies per day. I got to do the math on

(10:52):
this and see exactly. I mean, we have total, but there'll be
a certain amount of copies we're goingto give away over the course of two
weeks. One week out there andthen one week back here in the studio
and we're gonna do it for twoweeks. We're gonna give away multiple copies
every day on the show, butyou're going to have to earn it through
the talkback feature. So again we'llremind y'all about how to do it.

(11:13):
It's really easy to do. It'snot difficult at all, but we'll remind
you on the procedure on that.Coming up, we'll be back to wrap
up our number two here on SportsRadio A. I'm thirteen hunder the Zone
in the iHeartRadio app.
