Texas Longhorns in Hall of Fame Broadcasting.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Craig Part thanks again to Greg Tepper, the managing editor
of Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine. He joins us each
week on the program Talk some college football, Talk, some
(00:31):
NFL football. Yesterday, somebody asked on the text line, did
y'all see the Cowboy player who pushed down a Rams
Stafford yesterday? They told him to leave practice. I didn't
see that. I saw him push down Matthew Stafford and
(00:54):
Stafford had to leave with little hamstring tightness of did.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
You see it? Yeah, Albert Huggins kind of a journeyman
defensive lineman for the Cowboys. It's a practices stuff with this.
There's like there was a fight today, there's a fight yesterday,
there's a fight the day.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Before, especially when two different teams.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Yeah, practice, and you know, I think about uh. A
story from I Forget He was just on Kevin Clark's
podcast on ESPN and he was talking about in training
camp for forget Me. He played for play for the
Jets and the Patriots, but he got into this fight
in training camp with his teammates and it's one of
(01:34):
the first times he ever got in a fight. And
so he gets out of practice, he goes back in
this shower and stuff. He comes out and his position
coach is there and he's like, listen, you know, I'm
gonna talk to the team and tell him we don't
condone fighting like this. We don't want this to happen
because you can get injured. But that's exactly what we
need today. Thank you so much for doing that. I mean,
(01:56):
you know, you know, maybe maybe there's a little bit
of like, hey, like getting a fight today, let's let's
kind of let's kind of race the juices here for
the guys. Okay, all right, Yeah, Now, if he was
you know, shoving you know, one of his own coaches,
then we're getting into a little bit of a yeah,
starting a little worried there.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Yeah, I got you. Our man, CB said, how about
Kevin Durant coming on February twentieth when the Suns play
the Spurs of the mood? Very cool? All right? That
gets me and where I was going. Next was the
release of the NBA schedule and some of the Some
of the big matchups include in the first week on
(02:35):
October twenty second, Nick Celtics. Then on the twenty third,
Sons at Clippers. Okay, first look at the Clippers without
Paul George after leaving for Philadelphia there and then oh yeah,
and it's gonna be the into It Dome, the brand
(02:55):
new arena for the Clippers. Yeah, that's where that'll be.
And they had that area that's called the Wall that
no visiting fans can be in. So I'm curious to
see how that works out. Yeah, the Clippers games, so
what like you got with.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Six six Clippers fans, Billy Crystal right, one of those
those Spurs Mavericks that same.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Night on the On the next night, on the twenty
fourth MAVs Warriors on November twelfth, that's when Klay Thompson
returns his first came back there. And then as you
and by the way, in case you're wondering, January twenty
fifth Celtics Mavericks their first matchup since since the NBA
(03:43):
Finals will be January twenty fifth. But as CB pointed out,
Kevin Durant and the Suns to take on the Spurs
at Moody Center, and that's February twentieth, So so that'll
that'll be cool, by the way, In case you're wondering
Lebron's first games as a forty year old, we'll be
(04:04):
on New Year's Eve against Cleveland.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Yes, they plan these things.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
Yeah they do. Yeah, they do.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
First visit for the Lakers to the into It Dome
January nineteenth, Lakers Clippers. In case you're wondering about that,
Chet versus Wemby year two Spurs Thunder night before Halloween. Yeah,
Wednesday night, October three.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
I think we get three of those games and all
three will be nationally televised. So I went to the
last one. Yeah, that trys to me, and that's when
Wemby just completely outperformed check. So on the Katie thing, obviously,
we've seen Katie come to Texas football games and he
always gets a great standing ovation sure, but we never
see him at Moody of Frank Irwin because obviously he's
(04:55):
playing in the NBA. So I don't, I don't, I don't.
Maybe he has, but I don't really remember him coming
a lot. So this will be a great homecoming from
him because he's done so much for the Texas basketball
program in the university that it's going to be awesome
to see him come play and come practice at facilities
that he has helped fund.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
Yes, he's such a big part of it and he
will always be embraced and welcome here in Austin, no
question about him. We'll be back to wrap up today's
edition of the program on sports Radio AM thirteen under
the zone of the iHeartRadio AM
