Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good afternoon, everybody.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Welcome to a Friday edition of the program here on
Sports Radio AM thirteen hundred The Zone. My name is
Craig Way. Glad to have you with us. Happy to
be hitting the weekend, and so too is the producer,
Cameron D.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Parker.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
The D on the bursar are Ti Bigges stands for
Dallas as in his favorite NFL team that he has
flatly refused to watch this ball unless they reach the
NFC Championship game. But he's been keeping up with them
throughout the preseason. Safe to say you'll kind of keep
up with them as they play tomorrow and conclude the
preseason against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Probably not no, Probably not no. No.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
The roster's pretty much it is what it is at
this point. Right added a few defensive line pieces, but
you know, I think we're good on that front.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Hey, I had a sudden crazy iea. Also, it's college football.
It's week's heero.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
I'd rather be watching meeting full football than whatever the
Cowboys try to do in the football.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Okay, if you had a choice of watching Cowboys preseason
finale against the Los Angeles Chargers or Hawaii against Delaware State,
and he didn't have to pay for it?

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Why? Easy? Really easy? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Okay, even if you if you had to choose between
the two and you had to watch the Hawaii game
when it kicks off at eleven o'clock tonight tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Night, Greig, I think uh D Bell, the Texas Longhorns
five star committed playing I'd rather watch that game American
Heritage and you I think, yeah, I think I'd rather
watch that game than Cowboys and who Chargers Chargers Chargers.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Yeah, okay, Hey, I had a sudden thought. So this
this contract thing is dragged out obviously, which one was
HEDI Lamb?

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (01:48):
And the forty nine ers are having the same problem
with Brandon I you, you know, and they've sought a trade.
And look what if Jerry and the forty nine ers
swapped wide receivers.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
How would you feel about that?

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Well?

Speaker 1 (02:01):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
I think Ayuk still wants to get obviously get paid
a lot of money, right and if if Jerry hasn't
paid Ceede Lamb yet, what's to say he would also
pay Brandon Ayuk? And I think I'd rather have CD
Lamb than Ayuk at this point? You would, okay, all right?
All right, just a sudden thought.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
I mean I was I think I was watching a
story about the two of them both still not having
new contracts and Jamar Chase and Jamar Chase also comes
in on the back end of that. Okay, uh so anyway,
well we can get to some more cowboy stuff later on.
Tell you what we're gonna do in a few minutes.

(02:39):
We're gonna do some Aggie stuff. That's right, I said it.
We're gonna do some Aggie stuff. We're gonna talk about
the Aggies. Andrew Monico is the play by play voice
of the Texas A and m Aggie's and Andrew and
I were part of that press conference yesterday down a
Cotton Hole Holdings in Houston to make the announcement that

(03:04):
Cotton Holdings would be the sponsor of the lone Star
Showdown series between Texas and Texas A and M. And
It was a fun event and both athletic directors were there,
christ Dell Conci for Texas and and Trev Alberts for
Texas A and M. We heard from both of them
yesterday at one on one with Trev, and then of
course we had the uh we had kind of the
whole media circle cluster thing around CDC, and we got

(03:30):
in some questions there and the words for other reporters
as well, So we had all that stuff and he
wanted to.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Listen to any of that.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
You listen to our podcast page at AM thirteen under
the Zone dot com.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
You could do that.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
But I asked Andrew if you would hop on the
day to talk about Aggie football fortunes. They have a
brand new head coach of Mike Elcho, just like Texas.
Their season begins next Saturday, eight days away, and they
have a pretty.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Hefty opponent to start off with our hosting Notre Dame.

Speaker 2 (04:03):

just a few minutes. Also, we'll have Inconceivable this hour, Cameron.
We do know what Friday with Inconceivable means, don't we.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
Florida State may have traveled to Dublin, but we are
traveling to the more flaccid, the lower forty eight states
in North America.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
That's true, and we've got some Florida Man entries for
you for today, so we have that as well. Three
o'clock hour, Roger Wallace will join us. Of course, my
broadcast partner Long Worn Football and Roger of course sports
director's regular day job k x AN, and they've got
some Longhorn related programming that they've kind of inherited, if

(04:51):
you will, or picked up the mantle, if you will,
that we're used to be on long Horn Network when
was an over the air linear television product. The Longhorn
Network in its reincarnated form, is a streaming platform that

(05:12):
you can get on the app from the University of Texas.
But Rogers family of stations there with Next Star here
in Austin, will be airing some of the programming that
you were accustomed to seeing on Long Worn Network, so
there will be some things available on over the air
linear television.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Roger will be along to talk about that.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
We'll talk about high school football as well, with the
debut of their KBVO Big Game of the Week, the
Taco Shack Bowl next week Anderson McCallum. And also they've
got Westlake football on again, largely the tape delayed variety

(05:53):
because of the Friday night telecast prohibition, but they're streaming,
but they will have a live telecast of Westlake's season
opening it's prosper next Thursday. Because it's a Thursday game,
not a Friday night game. But anyway, we'll let Roger
get in all the details about that. Speaking of high
school football, in the four o'clock hour, Greg Temper, managing
enter of Dave Campbells Texas Football Magazine, will join us.

(06:16):
He was to be on with us yesterday with a
little technical issue, but TEP will be back on with
us because not only to have our final of our
classification previews, we'll preview one A the six man division.
Not only that, there actually are high school football games

(06:36):
that are being played this weekend, actual games we'll explain
coming up as well, so we've got all of that.
Cam's going to keep us updated on what's going on
with the FedEx Cup because they're in Colorado right now
going through the second round where they is it Castle

(06:56):
Rock cassel Pines. Okay, all right, so came, I'll keep
us updated on that. We'll talk to some baseball as well.
We were originally scheduled to visit with Gene Watson, then
we couldn't do it today Genos traveling today, but we will.
We will visit with him next week and we will
set the scene for the weekend.

Speaker 1 (07:12):

and more.
