Speaker 1 (00:00):
You know, Cam, we just finished talking to my school
football with Greg Tepper, and I should let you know
that the computer is weighed in. The computer. The computer's back,

(00:20):
the computer's back. I've had a lot of people ask
me about the computer with regard to high school football. Yes,
it is a real thing. The models, the models, it
really truly is. Except unlike meteorologists who have several different models,
weather models, European model, North America model. This that whatever

(00:42):
models aren't a green man. The models aren't a green
take a drink. This model is only one model. It's
Jerry Forrest and his great staff at Pigskin Prep. They
do unbelievable extensive work in they feed all of this
information into a computer program that then ranks all of

(01:08):
the schools from what it considers to be the very
best team in a given classification all the way to
the worst team, for example, in six A. According to
this commute, they feel that the best high school football
team in the state of Texas, without question, is De Sota.

(01:29):
I've got the number one, Duncanville's number two, Galena Parknor
Shore is number three, West Lake is number four. By
the way, Lake Travis is number eight. In these computer rankings,
vandergriff is number twenty four and Dripping Springs is number

(01:53):
twenty nine six A. But this, like I said, it
goes all the way from number one down to I
believe this is it two hundred and forty five. I will
tell you the total number of Class six A schools.
The final number is two hundred and forty nine and

(02:15):
the two hundred and forty ninth ranked team is La
joya team from the Valley uh and yet going into
the season opener they are only a one point according
to the computer, underdog to Brownsville Rivera, which according to
the computer, should win by one point. The lowest ranked

(02:39):
Greater Austin Central Texas Area six A school would be
Dell Valley at two hundred and fourteen. And not many
schools have the facilities that Dell Valley has. Oh they've
really built up. And by the way, the computer likes
Dell Valley to win it season opener against Cedar Creek

(03:01):
by twenty six points. So that's just that's just how
that works on that. So what they still in west
Lake's district? I got to go through. Yes they are.
It's a seventeen district. The only difference is Anderson, of course,
is no longer a six A program. They dropped a
five A and I was going to ask Roger Wallace
this if he'd visited, you know, with whether you're talking

(03:26):
about either of the two head coaches, or if you're
talking about administrators of the ai s D or a
good friend Orlando Artiaga, who is the king of all
things Taco Shack. What happens if those two who are

(03:46):
accustomed to playing the season opening kickoff game wind up
in the same district in the future. It hadn't happened
in a long time, and it's going to have been
a six A program for a while. But now Anderson
has dropped the five A Division one, but McCallum is
five A Division two, so that's why they're still in

(04:06):
different divisions, albeit in the same classification. So it's still
a non district game, and that's why they're playing the
season opener. Be interesting if they had to move the
Taco Shack Bowl down to like the last game of
the year from the first game, where I did a
couple of Taco Shack Bowls back in the day when
it was a district game, like in Week six or
Week seven, and it had every bit as much excitement
and enthusiasm then as it does in the season opener,

(04:27):
but there's something added extra special about it being in
the season opener, that's for sure. And by the way,
in case you're wondering, the computer likes Westlake against Prosper
and they're playing that game at mary Hart and Baylor,
by the way, next Thursday, and they like Westlake by
twelve points in that Prosper is supposed to be pretty
solid program. Like Travis is playing Arlington Martin at Martin.

(04:48):
They've gotten used to playing each other the past few years,
and they like like Travis to win by eight in that one.
And so anyway, we'll get in all that sort of
stuff next week as we get into week one of
the high school as well as college football season. Will
be back to wrap up the day and the week
here on sports Radio AM thirteen under the Zone.
