Speaker 1 (00:00):
My name is Craig Way.
Speaker 2 (00:00):
Glad to have you with us alongside as we are
now four days away from kickoff. We are a mere
four days away from the start of the twenty twenty
four college football season four of the Texas Longhorns toward that,
and we've got a lot of things on tap for today.
First of all, of course, the producer of the program
(00:22):
is Cameron D.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
Parker.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
The D on the birth certificate stands for Dallas as
in being named four in honor r of and after
his dad's favorite NFL football team, and Cam's as well,
although he has vowed not to watch him. But he's
pretty fired up since Cedee Lamb is under contract now
and it's paid a king's ransom and then some. So
what's next for you? You wanted to get Michael Parsons
(00:45):
deal done? Or is that too far down the road
for Jerry's watch? Oh that's way too far. Jerry Jones
can't do deals two years out. Come on, Craig, we
know this now, y sly me Dak Prescott for sure,
But I wouldn't say I'm pretty fired up. I'm I'm
glad that Ceedee Lamb got paid. But again, you know,
I wanted to watch him play live this year, so
that'll be to let me know how he looks. And
(01:08):
the Cowboys are struggling meteorocrity for another season under Mike
McCarthy and Jerry Jones, who is not leaving until he dies,
according to what he told Clarence Hill just a few
days ago.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
So should that really surprise any of us?
Speaker 2 (01:22):
No, no, you know, I mean he is going to
sit in charge of it until you know he judged
to be mentally incapacity. There are many who feel he
right now is mentally incapacitated to operate his football team.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
But but.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Regardless of that, he is the owner of the team
as well as the president general manager, so he will
continue to be the decision maker on those kinds of things.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
And he was he was feeling himself a little bit yesterday.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
He was pretty proud of himself, he said in the
podcast with our good friend Clarence Hill about how he
gets things done. So it was it was entertaining Jerry stuff,
as it always is.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Can you get Dak done now? Is that possible?
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Because the report that came out yesterday was that the
Cowboys were not close to a deal with Dak Prescott
or Michaeh.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Parsons.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
I guess I'm really not real surprised by that either,
you know, like you said, He'm not gonna get things
done that.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
Quickly on that sort of thing. So yeah, I'm not
really that surprised by that.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
It's interesting because if Dak plays this year, I mean,
he could have another MVP caliber type year. He hits
the open market, Craig, He's going to get sixty million
dollars from some team. But again, if he suffers an
injury or something like that happens, you know, then his
value could possibly drop. Now, Kirk Cousins still got paid
by the Atlanta Falcons coming off that that injury that
(02:50):
cost him season last year. And Kirk is I think
closer to the forty than he is thirty, although Dak
just turning I think thirty one, thirty two something like that.
So at lot of play here, Dak does have the levers,
so interesting to see how it plays out this season.
But the price will not go down for Dak Prescott
unless something catastrophic happens, which I'm not hoping.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
For it all. What is the phrase betting on himself?
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Yeah, he's definitely gonna bet on himself on this that
it goes well for him.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
All right.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Obviously we can discuss more on that. If you want
to text us your thoughts on the Cowboys, shoul feel
free to do it. You text the word Texas follow
by your question or comment to eight one five three zero.
That's the word Texas. You text that first, followed by
your question of comment, and you text that to eight
one five three zero eight one five three zero Standard
(03:43):
messaging and data rates by apply. You can also reach
us via the talkback the talkback feature we have. That's
how we gave away a pair of tickets to Saturday
season opener between Texas and Colorado State, and you can.
Speaker 1 (03:58):

(04:22):
all right, and we'll talk more Cowboys. But of course,
like I said, a Texas Tuesday, and that includes the
Texas log Worns preparations for this Saturday season opener against
the Colorado State Rams. During the program this afternoon, we'll
hear from the quarterback Quinn Yours. We're here from Longhorns
(04:44):
safety Michael Taff we'll hear from him as well, but
coming up here in just a few minutes. As we
do every week during football season, we get the thoughts
of the play by play voice of the opponent for
the Longhorns, case that would be Brian Roth, play by
play voice of the Colorado State Rams, And well he
(05:06):
will join us here in just a few minutes and
we'll get his thoughts on Jay Norville's third rendition of
Colorado State football and the hopes and excitement they have
for the coming season.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
So that'll be that'll be coming up in a few minutes.
We have inconceivable as well.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
We do have an update, and you might say, the finished,
finished chapter, the final chapter of a story that was
bizarre that we brought to you last week, Jordan Chiles, Uh,
that has gotten even more complicated by the way that
(05:47):
and that is not done yet, but that is something
that we have and that's that's another topic. And inconceivable,
would you believe somebody else has now entered the Fray
claiming to be the bronze medallist.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
So we'll get to that.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
But there's another chapter of something of final chapters, and
we'll get to that. We'll do that as well, and
then this being a Texas Tuesday, we talk Texas college
football in Texas high school football with Greg Tepper, managing
editor of Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine, a regular installment conversation.
(06:21):
I know during the summer we did some June and
in June and July and August we did some Thursdays
and Fridays with TIP when the magazine came out and
we were giving away copies of the magazine. But now
that we've settled into the season, a regular time slot
to visit with TEP each week will be Tuesday afternoons
(06:41):
right around three fifteen, So we're going to do that
as well. So we get all that and more coming up.
Hang with us a Texas Tuesday here on Sports Radio
AM thirteen under the Zone and where you can always
listen to us for free, the iHeartRadio app
