Speaker 1 (00:00):
But we are with you this afternoon, and.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
We we had this you know, this great big old
you know Swoll show planned for you today and by
and large we'll still bring the vast majority of it
to you. We had intended to bring you a conversation
with the head coach of the Warhawks of Louisiana and

(00:24):
Roe Brian Vincent, and we did visit with him just
just a little while ago, but with the technical meltdown
that happened and the conversation went great and good conversation,
we're still going to try to see if we can
salvage that and bring it to you either today or
tomorrow on the program. But it's disabled for the moment.

(00:45):
What is not disabled is Steve Sarkisian's weekly Zoom Thursday
media availability, and we'll bring you the comments from Coach
sark from that we have that we do have inconceivable.
Coming up this hour three o'clock hour, will visit with
Mike Hammett. He's the play by play voice of the
ULM Warhawks. This is a curious team. When you look

(01:08):
at him and say, way, come on, come on, Greg
Sundbelt team, blah blah blah, they are as I look
at the numbers here thirty first in NCAA and running
the football, which is not disgraceful by any stretch. They
don't throw the ball that well, even with General Booty

(01:29):
at quarterback, they tend to run the ball. So we'll
visit with Mike to talk about that. And their defense
has been pretty good as well. They were pretty impressive
and it went over over UA B, a UA B
team that is supposed to be pretty good this year,
and they kind of dismantled them in Monroe. This will

(01:50):
be their first road game. They were off this past weekend.
But we'll visit with Mike in the three o'clock hour,
and then in the four o'clock hour, Fozzy Whittaker joins us.
Fozzy of course, the lifetime long worn.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Uh is UH.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Fozzy is working the telecast of the game. In case
you didn't know, and and some folks might not have known,
Saturday's game between Texas and ULM is a combo in
terms of its distribution, a combo ESPN plus slash s

(02:29):
C plus telecasts.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
What does that mean?

Speaker 2 (02:33):
You're asking? You know, what the world does that mean?
SEC plus ESPN plus What the world does that mean?

Speaker 1 (02:41):
UH?

Speaker 2 (02:41):
If you the way I understand this, Cameron, correct me
if I'm wrong. If you already have SEC Network in
your cable or satellite system or YouTube whatever, uh, your
your streaming service might be, you're in good shape. You
will pull it through the ESPN Plus. Is is that correct?

Speaker 3 (03:00):
I think so yeah, because that's how I'm able to
watch SEC plus through YouTube TV. Okay, but you still
have to sign in to your provider when you go
through ESPN. Okay, It's only one hundred percent more confusing than.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
It used to be.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
But so you do it, and you can do it
through your app, or you can do it there through
Youuroku device there on your television. So I think a
lot of folks have finally gotten hit with that on
on how you can do that, especially in this latest
kerfuffle impass that Direct TV had where with Disney, which

(03:38):
of course owns ESPN. And during that impass, which lasted
two weeks when ESPN was not available and Disney oriented
networks were not available on Direct TV, it chased a
few more million people off the grid. I was that

(04:00):
close to jumping off, and then it came back up
because I'd been traveling into Michigan and stuff like that,
so it hadn't lasted a while two weeks it was,
it was a fortnight, it happened over Labor Day weekend,
and if it happened on that Sunday evening remember for
the LSU USC game, I guess it was that's when

(04:22):
it That's when it really kicked in.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
So it was out for.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
To be completely accurate, I think twelve days because it
came back a week ago. Friday Night, I believe is
when it came back in. So it did chase a
few more million people off the grid off of direct TV.
And I probably would have joined the throngs had I
not been traveling and missing all that stuff, and had

(04:50):
we had to go through the weekend where where it
would not have been available over this past weekend, I
probably would have pulled the plug.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
But it didn't. They get a reprieve for the time
being anyway.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
So my point about all of this is that if
you have an ESPN Plus or SEC if you either
have an ESPN Plus subscription or you have SEC network,
you can run it through Euroku or your device or

(05:27):
however you get your streaming on that. As Cameron mentioned,
you'd have to log in and sign in and all
that to do it. That's how you're going to get
the telecast Saturday. Out of course, we'll have full coverage
here on Sports Radio AM thirteen hundred the Zone of
the pregame with Longhorne, Game Day with Cameron and Mike
Hardball hard and the world's Strongest band, Mark Henry. They'll

(05:50):
be down at the Hook the hangout at Bevo Boulevard.
They're in the Winship Circle area near DKR Texas Memorial Stadium,
right in the middle of all the action, and their
coverage begins at four o'clock. Six o'clock is when network
coverage begins, and I think this is the last week
that this is affected. The game will be available on

(06:12):
ninety eight point one fmk VETT like always and one
three point one FM, Austin's eighty station, so on two signals.
It will not be on the zone because finishing up
the season for the Round Rock Express and they have
a game Saturday nine at seven o'clock so or eight o'clock,
so in any event, the game won't be on the zone,
but it will be on ninety eight point one fmk VET.

(06:33):
It will be on one oh three point one FM
Austin's eighty station. You can connect to it through the
iHeartRadio app which would connect into Texas long Orange dot
Com where you would get a chance to stream it
online or on the app on the phone.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
So anyway, that's that's how all of that goes.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
And as I mentioned, Fozzy Whitaker is working the telecast
the game of Louell Galindo and Fozzi will join us
in the four o'clock hour to discuss it. So those
things are on tap. And as we said, we pivoted
down the hall once we started having the technical issues
with the regular studio that we work out of, and
in so doing we've lost out on the opportunity, at

(07:20):
least for the moment anyway, to bring in the conversation
with Briant Vincent, the head coach of uelmen Rowe. But
we'll again, we'll try to get that back and get
it on either today or tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
We'll try to do that.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
And he's a pretty confident guy. This is a guy
who was the offensive coordinator in New Mexico last year
and they ran the ball well, and that's part of
the reason why they are really committed to the run.
The other thing is he'd been the interim head coach
at UAB a couple of years ago, take it over
for Bill Clark, and they managed to make it to

(07:54):
a bowl game. They went seven and six and they
won the Bahamas Bowl that they played in. Well, so
he's got a little bit of head coaching experience out
of that, and now he's in his first season as
a collegiate head coach there at Louisiana Monroe.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
All right, coming up.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
We'll hear from Long Worn's head coach Steve Sarkeishan from
the Thursday media availability, the final media availability of the
week going into the weekend, so we'll do that coming up. Also,
as always, we invite your input, your questions, your thoughts,
your comments.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
All you have to do is text us.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
You text the show by texting the word Texas follow
by your question or comment, so make sure you put
that on the front end.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
It's going to be Texas.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Then your question or comment to eight one five three zero,
So text the word Texas then your question and comment
to eight one five three zero.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Standard messaging and data rates may apply.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
We will also give away an opportunity for you to
have a chance to win.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Tickets to see Brooks and done.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
We'll do that coming up in the three o'clock hours well,
and you'll need access that on the talkback to be
able to do that.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
So we'll do that when we continue up.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Next, we'll hear from coach Sark as we continue on
long with a long run Thursday edition of the program
here on sports Radio AM thirteen under the Zone and
where you always listen to us for free on the
iHeartRadio app.
