You know how old he is today? I don't care
to take a guess.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
The Boss seventy two.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
Close he is the same age at least in the
same year as Billy Joel and Brad Sham. Seventy five. Okay,
he's seventy five today. The Boss is seventy five Bruce Springsteen.

Deftones March thirteenth at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio,
just leave us a message there on the talkback feature
there on the iHeartRadio app with the keyword Zone. So
it's is easy as you please, all right. I mentioned
(02:04):
that the college football polls are out. Texas, of course
is the number one team. Georgia's till number two in
the AP poll. Now the in the coaches poll, it's
still Georgia number one in Texas number two on that,
but the power rankings that come out from the computer generated.
Things that ESPN does can differ a little bit, and
(02:28):
the power rankings for this week we're out. There's no
differentiation from the AP poll. At the top of the list,
Texas is number one, in Georgia's number two. Here's where
the change starts to coming. Tennessee is number three, up
one spot from four to three. Ohio State went up
one spot from five to four. Alabama dropped two spots
(02:52):
from three to five without playing a game, Ole miss
went up one spot from seven to six. Miami dropped
a spot from six to seven. Penn State went up
from ten to eight, Oregon up from eleven to nine,
Utah up from fourteen to ten after their win in
still Water over Oklahoma State. Missouri dropped two spots from
(03:13):
nine to eleven. After that narrow double overtime escape from Vanderbilt,
Michigan up four spots from sixteen to twelve. They jumped
six spots from eighteen to twelve and the eight peo
pole after the win over usc A. Louisville jumped six
spots from nineteen to thirteen. Clemson up three spots from
seventeen to fourteen. Usc went up went down seven spots
(03:36):
from eight to fifteen after losing at Michigan. Notre Dame
up four spots from twenty to sixteen, LSU up four
spots from twenty one to seventeen, Iowa State up five
spots from twenty three to eighteen. Illinois up six spots
from twenty five to nineteen. BYU, which was not ranked
in at number twenty. Oklahoma State dropped seven spots these
(03:58):
so the Power rankings, they dropped seven spots from thirteen
to twenty one. Indiana in the Power rankings after not
being ranked last week, they're in at number twenty two.
Kansas State dropped from twelve to twenty third after that
loss to BYU. Oklahoma dropped from fifteen to twenty four
following its home loss to Tennessee and UNLV in the
Power rankings for the first time at number twenty five.
(04:21):
So those are the power rankings in college football. In
terms of the AP top twenty five. As we mentioned,
Texas is still number one, followed by Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama, Tennessee, Ole,
miss Biomi, Oregon, and Penn State. Then it's Utah, Missouri, Michigan, USC, LSU, Louisville,
(04:43):
Notre Dame, Clemson, Iowa State, Illinois, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma dropped
to number twenty one, six spots after the loss. Oklahoma
State dropped six spots from fourteen to twenty after the
home loss BYU twenty two, Kansas State twenty three, Texas
A and M moved up one spot with a six
pointy win for Bowling Green the twenty four and Boise
State in at number twenty five. The ones who dropped
(05:05):
out Nebraska and Northern Illinois, those are the ones who
dropped out there. So there's the updated power rankings and
also the updated AP rankings as well in college football
for this week. So there's plenty to take note of
(05:27):
there with regard to the college football rankings and the
Power rankings as well as in the polls. So plenty
to discuss there. Okay, the other thing I was going
to ask you was, you know, I asked you, Cameron,
what was the most surprising result of the weekend in
(05:48):
the NFL. So now I guess I could probably go
one step further with you and ask you this question,
and that is, of these teams, would you say stands
to be the most surprising undefeated team and the teams
(06:13):
that will tell you I know this is not gonna spread.
Kansas City would be one of them. Minnesota three and oh,
Seattle three and oh, Pittsburgh three and oh, which would
be the most surprising three and oh team.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
I think it's Pittsburgh. I think without doubt it's the
Pittsburgh Steelers. Now you could argue Seattle because of you know,
brand new head coach. You know, it's with the quarterback.
They've had a pretty easy schedule, especially playing the Dolphins
without Tua bow Knicks his first ever start in Week one,
the Patriots in Week two. But the Pittsburgh Steelers to
(06:50):
be three and oh with wins at Atlanta and the
win over the Chargers last week or yesterday. I know
Herbert got injured, but I mean their defense has and
absolutely lights out so far. TJ. Watt once again one
of the best players in the league. I mean, they've
given up ten points in Week one, six in week two,
(07:11):
in ten in week three, just twenty six points. The
Ravens had that against the Cowboys in less than three quarters.
The Saints had that in less than two quarters against
the Cowboys in Week two. And they're doing it with
Justin Fields at quarterback, who has been playing five. He's
not making mistakes, he's not flashy, but he's completing seventy
(07:34):
three percent of his passes fifty five for seventy five,
two touchdowns but just one interception. That's exactly the kind
of play Mike Tomlin and Pittsburgh needs him to do
to win each week. Now it's only three weeks, but
they're three to no, first place in the AFC North
and looking like a playoff team after I thought for
(07:57):
sure they would not be, considering how stinky I thought
their office is going to be, and all of it
kind of is a blessing this guy. Is that Russell
Wilson got hurt, because I don't know if the Steelers
would be three and oh with Russell Wilson as their quarterback.
Now we'll see it looks like Fields will be the
starter going forward. Wolson allegedly is healthy. I'm sure at
(08:17):
some point this year we're going to see Wolson at quarterback.
But they got some good things happening with Fields that quarterback.
He made some key plays, some key throws down the stretch,
had that big touchdown pass to Calvin Austin that kind
of put the game away against Los Angeles. If they
keep playing like this, They're gonna be a tough team,
especially if they can get home field advantage in the playoffs.
(08:38):
You're playing, I know they change the name of it,
but I'm still gonna call it Heinsfield playing Heinsfield in
January in that type of weather look out.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
So okay, all right, would you say you're surprised with
the Vikings for three now? Yeah, and that they scored
points in Seattle and they've outscored their reponents by fifty points.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
I think more surprising. I mean we knew koc is
a good head coach. More surprising. It's just Sam Donald.
It continues to play extremely well, only two interceptions, I think,
nine touchdowns so far. He looks clean, he looks scripts,
he's making smart decisions. Now, he did suffer a knee injury.
I think we're still waiting to find out his status
going forward. Be really tough for the Vikings if he's
(09:23):
out for an extent of stretch. But I mean, right now,
if you were handing out MVP award, is Sam Donald
the NFL MVP right now through the first three weeks?
I think he is? And that is completely surprising.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
True enough, all right, we'll be back to wrap up
today's edition of the program on sports Radio AM thirteen
under the zone of the iHeartRadio app.
