long Worns linebacker who has been a factor in so
far in this early season and steadily even more of
a factor with each passing game, including the last game
at a couple of quarterback sacks and had the tackle on.

(01:25):
somebody said, yeah, we saw Columbus versus Squero. They beat
him bad from the first quarter on. They have everything size, speed, athleticism. Yeah,
they were pre season number two, but now they moved
into the number one spot. They looked really good. They,
of course, the Showbol family very much in charge.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Of that deal.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
The head coach of that is Matt Shoble, and then
Adam Shoble is the quarterback. Matt mad the head coach,
had played at TCU and in the NFL. The Showbulls
have had that connection to TCU. Adams committed to TCU,
John Shobel receiver. They're also committed to TCU. Have you
(02:08):
ever eaten at Showbuls restaurant, by the way, Kim, have
you ever eaten it? I have not heard of it. Yeah,
you need to go there when they have the buffet,
because that's good. They did like all other you know,
obedient and compliant businesses and uh, you know, and and
(02:29):
killed off the buffet during the pandemic.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Always assume, yeah, it was.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
But now that the pandemic is gone, the buffet is
returned over there. So they've got that and good food,
family cooking stuff. But anyway, Columbus number one team in
the state. Somebody else today, anybody can talk college football.
When we hear temper, we want to hear a story
about a team changing in the dairy Queen and jim Ned.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Jim Ned is a high school.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
It's it's actually in a little community called Tuscola, and
we all know that's called McCoy's alma mater, played for
his dad, Brad McCoy there. They actually lived in a
little community called Buffalo Gap. And that's where I would
say sometimes on the play by play, the boy from
(03:24):
Buffalo Gap or the kid from Buffalo Gap, because he
was he's pretty darn good. He was from Buffalo Gap.
And jim Ned. It was more of an a regional
name for the high school there. But kids in Tuscola
and and and Buffalo Gap, maybe even Lawn, I can't
(03:48):
remember for sure if they are or not, But anyway
that it's kind of a regional high school there.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
It can contempor give some love to my mojo Panthers
forty three yards forty three points in five hundred and
ninety four yards of offense, a game and a four
and zero start.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Note my best button.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Former Permian cowboy Darren Allman says they're six and fourteen.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
We'll see on down the road.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
They did win the other night, but what they beat
Amriilla Tasco Some one was a fifty to forty eight.
So the defense is still trying to shore things up
a little bit. I mentioned the fact that Lynn and
I a week from Thursday yacht rockers that we are
since it's the open date on the schedule for the

Speaker 1 (05:06):
It's right around the corner from a babes every the
FRIEDI oh.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
That's got you written all over it, my friend.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
There's a lot of those there there Well, there's several
locations in the metroplex. They have one in Carrollton in
the old downtown district of Carrollton. They have one in Sanger.
They have one in Burlison. That's the closest one to
us on thirty five. W Uh, they've got one in Arlington.
What it is is chicken and chicken fried steak and
(05:37):
I guess catfish. It's it's just country food and it's
and it's really and truly. They just bring in the
big portions of it and then the vegetables is bringing
out family style with your group, like big bowls of
mashed potatoes and corn and.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Stuff like that. They have really good desserts too. Does
it's right up your alley. It is right up your alley.

All right, Coming up, we're going to visit with Neil Price.
(06:32):
He's the play by play voice of the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
We'll get his thoughts on Mike Lebbe's first year as
the head coach there. I've known the Levies for a
long long time. I'm not that close to Jeff Leby,
the head coach. His dad, Mike. I knew when he
was the head coach at Andrews High out in West Texas.
(06:54):
But of course Jeff has been around a long time
and was at Oklahoma, graduated from there and was on
the coaching staff there most recently. But of course really
kind of came into his own as an offensive innovator
when he was on an art brial staff at Baylor
and had also worked at Ole, Miss and at Tennessee
and now is a head coach at Mississippi State. So
(07:17):
we'll talk about that with Neil Price, will get his
thoughts on this first year for Jeff Levy at the
Helm and additionally, this quarterback situation that they have there
is starting a true freshman Michael van Buren, due to
the injuries that they have and not having Blake Shathan
who followed Levy, well not really, I mean he went
(07:40):
from Baylor and Levy came from Oklahoma. There are a
lot of people, by the way, who think that Jackson
Arnold maybe into the portal and might go to Starkville,
the Oklahoma coach, Oklahoma quarterback now that.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
He has been benched.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
We'll see, we'll see if that in favor of my
Michael Hawkins.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
We'll see about that.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Hawkins will get to start for the Sooners in their
next action, so and we'll probably see him at the
Red River rivalry matchup in Dallas. All right, But up next,
we visited Neil Price, the play by play voice of
the Mississippi State Bulldogs here on sports Radio AM thirteen
under the zone of the iHeartRadio app.
