Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good afternoon, everybody. Welcome to the Craig Way Show. I
am Craig Way. Glad to have you with us alongside
as we occupy this airspace from two to five Monday
through Friday.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Glad to have you with us as we head into
the weekend.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
As I always say, if your Friday means the traditional
Friday for you, good on you, Good for you.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Enjoy the weekend.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
Hope it arrives nicely and you transition through it equally
nice for those of you for whom Friday means what
would be Wednesday for a lot of other folks, or
Monday or whatever. Hope it goes well for you also
into the weekend. When we say we hope it goes
well for you, we includes, of course, the producer of
(00:44):
this program, Cameron D.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Parker.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
The D the birth certificate stands for Dallas. That's his name,
his middle name, named in honor of his favorite pro
football team, which he still steadfastly refuses to watch. But
they did win last night, so the D stands for delivered.
They delivered a road victory. Cameron park I know better
(01:09):
than to even ask if you even watched it, did
you see highlights of it?
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Afterwards.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Of course, I did not watch it. I was doing
something a little bit more exciting. I was installing a
new shelf organizer in my closet, and there was absolutely
more riveting than watching the Giants and the Cowboys just
kick field gold after field.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
There'd be a lot of people would agree with you
on that assault.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
But I did watch some highlights this morning, did read
about it, and let's just say it was a must
win for the Cowboys. They got that win. Now, was
it ugly? Yeah, the Giants were able to score on
a lot of their possessions. Now you can look at
a glass half full or glass half empty. Glass half
full is the Cowboys did not give up any touchdowns.
(01:55):
I sure did against the Saints that they did against
the Ravens. Now the glass half empties of the Giants
who have an off offense. We're still able to move
the ball. Cowboys offensive line still troubles getting the run
game established. Tyler Geidon a lot of holding penalties, but
Dak Prescott twenty two to twenty seven, eighty one percent
(02:15):
completion of his passes. He looked pretty good last night.
Ceedee Lamb had a bounce back game, So that's a
good side of it. Defensively, the run game held Giants
to just like two point one or two point six
yards per carry. They had nothing going. They got some
good pass rush against Daniel Jones. Bryan Aubrey did miss
a kick.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
He did first time ry ever, what a weird stat
first time he ever missed a kick from over fifty yards?
Speaker 2 (02:42):
So weird, isn't it? Yeah? A fifty one yard and
he hit a sixty? Right he did? Yeah he did?
Speaker 1 (02:47):
So Yeah, that was a little bit strange. Hey, have
you talked to your dad? Sinces he stopped blaming Dak.
Dak had a good game.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
I'm not even sure he's where the Cowboys played last
I'll copped the check in with him and see what
he's up to.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
He's somewhere out on the road. Okay, they're working well. Naturally.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Of course, my fantasy football league happened to be playing
a guy who started Dak Prescott last night, so I'm
already down twenty one points before it starts. So we'll
see how that goes. But there's that. We'll talk NFL
football during the program. College football obviously huge weekend, first
ever SEC conference game for the Texas Longhorns, as they
(03:26):
host the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Now, we're going to hear
from long ORNs head coach Steve Sarkisian from a segment
from last night's Longhorn Weekly Program talking about those Mississippi
State Bulldogs. We'll hear that coming up. In the next segment.
We'll have a conversation with the University of Texas Senior
(03:46):
Associate Athletic Director Drew Martin to talk about what a
really busy weekend. This is not just for the football team.
Volleyball is playing at Texas A and M tonight in
the restoration of the Cotton Holding Lone Star Showdown series.
That's the first head end matchup since the rivalry has
(04:07):
been restored and the head to head points system that
will accrue from that. But there's more than that. There
is soccer against the Aggies on Sunday, and then of
course there's all manner of things that will be going
on with football tomorrow. Of course, our coverage will begin
at noon from the Hook Them Hangout at along Beevo
(04:29):
Boulevard there in the wind Chip Circle area of Astride,
Big Beertha and all the rest of the food vendors
and the trucks and the things out there. Cameron Parker
will be out there to host our long Orange Game
Day Show pregame program along with my Cardball Harj and
Mark Henry. That'll come your way at noon Network pregame
at two o'clock and the kickoff just past three fifteen
(04:50):
Texas and Mississippi State.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
So we're going to visit with Drew Martin to talk
about that.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Also today on the program, we will here's some conversations.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Will Matthews, colleague and.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Sideline reporter on our Longhorn Radio Network Football broadcast, has
a series of conversations. He sits down with different long
worn players each week. So we're going to hear conversations
with John Tay Cook, with Baron Surrell, also conversation with
Jake Majors and with Jayden Blue. So that's all coming
(05:25):
up on the program. This being a Friday, when we
do bring you in Conceivable, we do know what that means,
Cameron Parker, when we have a Friday with Inconceivable.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Oh man, I almost forgot. Today's Friday is because hopefully.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
We're going to avoid the hurricane, but we are traveling
to the more flaccid of the forty eight states in
search of that one Florida man or Florida woman's story.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
And we have a soaking wet Florida story because of
the hurricane to get to.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
So we'll we'll do that additionally, Additionally we'll.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
Talk majorly baseball Geene Watson from the Chicago White Sox
front office to talk about that. And you know, Gino
has been around it and seeing all these different postseason things.
Of course, I stayed up really late last night, Lindon,
I did to watch the Dodgers wrap up the National
League West, the big celebration. They had a five and
seven to beat the Padres, and they win the National
(06:19):
League West at the eleven time in twelve years.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
They'll get a bye.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
They had a little bit of scare with Freddie Freeman
tumbling over the first base bag and apparently a spring
to ankle, but they don't think it's anything real serious.
But they're not even going to takehim to Denver this
weekend to wrap up the regular season against Colorado. So
all the division titles have been claimed. The Yankees won
the American League East last night as well, so all
of the division titles have been claimed and now it's down
(06:43):
to the wildcard races, and it is pretty wild going
into the weekend. All right, Up next, we'll visit with
Drew Martin from the University of Texas Athletic Office. When
we continue here on sports Radio AM thirteen hundred The
Zone and where you can always listen to us for
free on the iHeartRadio app.
