Speaker 1 (00:08):
And we're back to the Craigway Show. Have a message
for Craig, share it by using the talkback feature on
the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Last hour of the program, you heard logorn Head coach
Stieve Sarkisian's media availability, the Zoom availability. It's the final
media opportunity and presentation that he does for the local
and national media prior to the game, other than, of course,
my pregame conversation with him, which is two hours prior

(00:40):
to kick and we do that and that's part of
our pregame show. And of course that leads me to
remind you that our coverage of the one hundred and
twentieth edition of the Red River Rivalry begins really tomorrow afternoon.
Cameron Parker and my cards in your story. We will

(01:02):
be at Bar W that is on Maple Avenue in Dallas.
It's across from the old Stoneley Hotel. In fact, it's
in the building that used to be the Stoneley p Bar.
Really cool sports bar now and we'll bring you our
red River preview show and we hope you'll come out
and see us tomorrow afternoon. We'll be there from two

(01:24):
to six with that four hour Texas Oklahoma preview show.
Then on Saturday morning, Fairgrounds of the State Fair of Texas,
Cam and Harge and Mark Henry, we'll all be out
there for the long Orange Game Day program. And you're

(01:44):
not far from the front gate and over there by
the Old Mill In Restaurant and all that other kind
of stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
That's right, the Old Mill English restaurant where Craig Way
himself went on many dates and.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
A couple a couple maybe three it was, and it
was usually during the State Fair type of thing.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
It was one of hey, that's a great date the
state Fairs. That's like a top top five in terms
of like dates to go on. Yeah, yeah, it's a
good call there. Crap, how is your ahead of your time?

Speaker 3 (02:12):
I think?

Speaker 2 (02:13):
I think Lynda and I when we were dating the
first time in the early eighties went there.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
It went went to the fair as a day. I
know this.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
It was the week after the fair ended. I worked
the Rolling Stones of the Cotton Bowl Wow with zz
Top opening for them and the fabulous Thunderbirds opening for
zz Top. It was a triple bill in the pouring
rain in the Cotton Bowl that day, but the rolling
Stones were outstanding. But anyway, those guys will be out

(02:43):
there with the show, and they're going to be all
around the State Fair.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Foods.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Somebody yesterday on Twitter, I'm going to give him credit
here momentarily sent me a list of where to find
these because remember yesterday on the pro I said that
the problem with some of these foods is that I
can't find where they are because they only sell them

(03:10):
in certain things. Thanks to Carrie p was the map. Yeah,
there's like.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
A guide oh the new foods one. Yeah, I've seen that.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Yeah, And but even that, even that, I'm still kind
of like, for example.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Well, wait, second, Craig, I found something, did you? I did?
Their food faves, their maps in the location.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Good send that to me as well, because what Carrie
sent me is really helpful if you know where to
go and there is a there's a little bit of
a map there. But like, for example, dumplings, I mentioned
an interest in the dumplings. It says located at the
Dumpling Experience. Okay, how do I find the dumpling Experience?
You know that kind of thing. But the map will
certainly help on that.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
This shows well, now it says twenty twenty one, so
I don't know Okay, I mean how often do they
chan means the stuff here because it shows the funnel cakes,
turkey legs, fried oreos. What else we got? Yeah, a
lot of a lot of turkey legs and funnel cakes
and fried orioles. That seemed to be the main three.
So hopefully the locations are just about the same, because

(04:15):
looking at it, Craig where the old mill is Old
mill inn is Yeah, there's a big text circle.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Yep, because Big Kex is right near there.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
And has a Fletcher's Corny dog stand Yep, Yep, there's
one there. There's also it's just listed as the g Area,
which I'm guessing is Grand Area huh, funnel cake factory
and the Magnolia Smokehouse which has turkey legs so boom
because the funnel cake I've gotten every single year. Obviously
corn dogs so and I haven't had a turkey leg yet,

(04:45):
So this might be the year.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
If if it might be the year. Let me ask
you something.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
If you happen to have a moment where Mark Henry,
the World's strongest man, has a turn turkey legs.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Hand I want a picture of that?

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Oh we will, because that's like watching when I was
playing golf at Myrtle Beach last night. The alligator that
came up on the shore and just crunched this giant,
big turtle and it sounded like cracking open a walnut.
So I want to picture of that. If if if
Mark Henry has a turkey leg in his head. All right,

(05:23):
so we bring up all this food stuff and he said, ah,
how consequential is that you want to listen to this?

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Then?

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Because last night when we recorded Loghorn Weekly with a
head coach Steve Sarkisian, I asked him about state Fair foods.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
We do this every year for Texas ou Week.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
We offer sark the opportunity to express a preference on
State Fair deep fried foods. Now, somebody asked you on
the SEC teleconference if you've done much of it, and
you said no. But I remember two years ago after
you won forty nine nothing, didn't somebody bring you like
deep fried oreos or something had a leg?

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Oh it was a turkey leg, had a turkey. But
you told me in favor of the desserts.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
Right, I am a big dessert guy.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
All right, see what you think about these? All right?
So I got a I got a couple of these.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
First of all, the one that won for the most
creative best taste.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Sweet.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
By the way, this the corny dog, sounds amazing.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
I did.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
I just didn't have access. Yeah, hopefully we get a
win and I can get a corny dog.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
You've had all those great student managers there. Somebody can
surely run out and retrieve one for you.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
You would do man, all right? Okay?

Speaker 2 (06:30):
How would this strike you? Cotton candy bacon on a stick. Okay,
it won, it won best taste.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
It sounds amazing.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
Yeah, okay.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Sugar rush pickles, now these are pickles that have cereal
on them.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
No, that's not me, okay, all right. Uh.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Then there's uh hot chicken pancake poppers.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
I do that.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
That sounds pretty good, okay, all right. Then another thing, the.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Aubery pop tart ben Ye, yeah, for sure, you'd be
okay with that for sure?

Speaker 3 (07:04):
All right?

Speaker 2 (07:05):
So I just want to And then there is a
tropical two step punch, which has all kinds of fruit
flavored drinks in it, passion, fruit, mango.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
Uh, it's a it's a different kind of punch.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
Sounds like it might be dangerous.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
But the thing that I remember most of all is
you saying two years ago, I will make a pledge
if we win the game, I will partake of something.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
And you did. You were a man of your word.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
You won forty nine and nothing and you and you
followed up by eating a turkey leg. So do we
have the pledge from you again this year that if
the team follows through you get a win.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
Ye, you're gonna do something?

Speaker 4 (07:45):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
I want.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
I'm gonna try this corny dog. Oh yeah, we gotta win.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
I want.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
I want to try that.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
I mean, you can't get asked on a on an
SEC media call about a corny dog.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
It's gotta be good. I try that. And this this
cotton candy.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Thing, Yeah, cotton candy bacon on the stick.

Speaker 4 (07:59):
Yeah, we gotta try that.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
And the gold that that will be in social media.
To have the to have the photo of you with
the cotton candy bacon.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
On a stick, I have to be on social media.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
No, no, I'm just saying I could just see part
of the Texas football staff doing that and putting it
out there. Of course, this this is a special time
for your guys, and I know you want them to
enjoy the moment as well as the intensity and and everything.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
That this game brings.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
It really it really is.

Speaker 5 (08:27):
I mean, these these moments are that's why you come
to Texas or you go to you it's to play
and playing this type of a game, it's an unbelievable environment.
I've been really proud of our guys and the way
they've prepared this week. You know, we believe in the
sun Zoo adage of every battle is won before it's fought,
and I think our guys are prepared really well for
the ball game.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
So as important as this Texas OU game is, it's
a longer nation and to the players and obviously the
coaches and the head coach, it should not be lost
on folks that you know, sark And joys a good
cotton candy bacon on a stick. If it is a victory,

(09:08):
is like I said, he's gonna give one of the
managers to run out and grab him something like that,
to bring him something like that. All right, now to
the more serious side of it element of it. Word
coming out today that their leading receiver, Dion Burks is
not expected to play. They have just been just waylaid
by injuries at the receiving corps. But we've kind of

(09:29):
been hearing that during the week. When we had Toby Rowland,
the Sooners play by play voice on yesterday, he said
he doubted that Dion Burks would be able to go,
and apparently he's not going to be able to go.
He was listed as questionable yesterday in the SEC player
Availability Report. Those SEC mandated player player availability reports, the

(09:55):
injury list. If you will are do the first one
five o'clock on Wednesday, and that's where it was submitted.
That said the sark yesterday, I said, did you did
you listen Quinn viewers?

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Is probable?

Speaker 5 (10:13):
He is.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
I don't know he's gonna play because he's fully expecting
him to play. Everybody is as well.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
But I think I think him and Derek Williams are
listed as probable.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Yeah, the injury yeah. And I asked him, say think
about there. He's like, yeah, you know, uh so.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
But even though Burkes was listed as questionable, uh he,
according to Pete Thammil uh that today said that he's
probably not going to be available. He's the Burks is
the transfer from Purdue as team high twenty six catches,
two hundred one yards and four games, scored all three
of his touchdowns in Oklahoma's Easy Whenever temple in the

(10:52):
season opener. So what that what that would mean is
in all probability, five of their time wide receivers are
going to be out of the lineup. Jaleil Farouk might
be gone for almost the entire season. Are close to
Nick Anderson who caught the game winning touchdown pass for
the Sooners last year. Andrew Anthony and Jaden Gibson already

(11:15):
have been ruled out for the game.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
J J.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
Hester really kind of has emerged as the top receiver
for Michael Hawkins. He had a big touchdown catch against Auburn.
Jacquey's Petaway replaced Burks at the slot, and the former
Longhorn Brennan Thompson, along with Zion Reagan's also had starts
in that game. So Sark will continue to tell you

(11:40):
there are you know, other guys who are available and
that makes a difference. So there's depth there as well,
but the depth certainly being tested for Oklahoma. All Right,
we have more coming up as we continue here on
this Thursday afternoon, and that includes the Texas injury reports
portrayio AAM thirteen under the zone of the iHeart.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
