Monday here on sports Radio AM thirteen under the Zone.
Good afternoon, everybody. I'm Craig Wait glad to have you
with us. Also pleased as always to be joined by

(04:24):
the producer Cameron D. Parker that he on the birth
certificate stands for Dallas.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Oh boy, well won't. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
It was, of course, in honor of his favorite football
team who was part of history, which was part of
history yesterday. It was as described I believe by Scott
Hansen on NFL Red Zone. They were part of a
score of Gami, which means it's a score that has
never a final score that has never before been registered

(04:57):
in NFL history in over one hundred years, forty seven
to nine, that particular number as a final score had
never been recorded. Has now Cowboys on the nine part
of the forty seven to nine. Somewhere Cameron was going,
this is why I don't watch this team.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Do you think anyone brought that up to Jerry Jones
in the post game, like, hey, Jerry know you just
your team just got absolutely destroyed on national television. But hey,
the bright side is you're a part of the score gami.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
No, you don't think.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
I don't think he would have. We're gonna hear a
comment from Jerry a little bit later about it. I mean,
he was asked point blank by reporter, do you you
start considering firing the coach? And Cameron had he been
standing there and the reporter throng would have been yeah, yeah,
that's what I'm talking about. But Jerry had a different
take on that. So we'll hear his take on that.

(05:50):
We're gonna hear from Long Horns head coach Steve Sarkisian.
This says a Monday, Long Horns Monday, and of course
Long Horns Monday means we started at eleven o'clock in
the morning on Mondays by bringing live coverage from the
ut campus, and that would be inclusive of the weekly
news conference with Steve Sarkisian. So we'll have we brought

(06:12):
it to you live in long form programming all the
way through that, and then we'll bring it to you
in sound bite fashion all of his answers to all
of the questions that's coming up on this afternoons program. Additionally,
on this afternoons program in this two o'clock hour, there
is inconceivable to discuss. Then in the three o'clock hour

(06:36):
we'll hear more from start and also we'll talk Major
League Baseball playoffs. Team Watson, our MLB insider, joins us,
the recap of the Division series, and talk about the
two league championship series. One gets underway tonight the Yankees
and Guardians in the Bronx played tonight, the other one

(06:56):
already underway Dodgers and Nets, Dodgers winning last night nine
to nothing in game one. Game two, we'll start right
about the time we have Geno on and we'll have
live updates throughout the course of that because that starts
just past three o'clock this afternoon, Game two at Dodger Stadium,
So we'll get in his thoughts on that. So there's
a lot of college football also to discuss. First of all,

(07:20):
in recapping the weekend, it was a very busy weekend
for all of us, and I think everything really really well.
We had a good time up in Dallas at bar
w on Maple Avenue. Boy, if you're going up to
Dallas and you're going to be up there on the
weekend and maybe on a Sunday you want to watch
some football, that is a great spot. Used to be
the old Stoneley p bar and Bob Woody and Barrett

(07:44):
and all the other guys have flipped that thing into
an outstanding sports bar. So it's a I think it's
twenty nine six Maple some Maple Avenues across from the
Stoneley Hotel.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
So we were there on Friddy, had a good time.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Then on Saturday, it started off at eleven thirty in
the morning on the fair grounds of the State Fair
of Texas.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
All right, Camedy the.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
The really cap the tally on the State Fair fried
foods that you my cardball, hards and of course the
world's strongest man Mark Henry committed to consuming and how
much was actually consumed and what items were consumed.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
So I know, at least on the pregame portion for myself,
Mark Henry, and Hardball. I think we had three or
four corn dogs consumed before eleven am, which was great.
We had fried oreos, fried twinkies, and then Harge's family
who was in attendance, and they were going around and
getting various items and they would bring stuff over to

(08:47):
the recon for you and they we would try and
we had some great stuff. I had fried pickle pizza
that was fantastic. I like fried pickles, but the fried
pickle pizza pickled pizza.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
I hadn't even heard that.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
Yeah, highly recommend. Someone brought us these two different breakfast sandwiches,
the big breakfast sandwich. I think the one I had
was just your basic bacon, egg and sausage, but it
was on a buttermilk biscuit. Fantastic. The other one was
like some sort of caso concoction that I think Mark
Henry had one bite and it was like, I can't

(09:21):
do this. I don't do this anymore. So joy that
of course, had a funnel cake after the game, had
an extra corn dog after the game, had some Arnold
Palmers after the game. It's a fantastic experience. And of
course the media were fed Rudy's during the game, so
ate a lot. Did not check my calorie intake because
I do not want to know, but I felt this

(09:43):
on Sunday. I felt that Sunday my stomach did not
feel great. So definitely gonna sharpen up the diet and
exercises next few weeks. But fantastic week. And it's just
one of those just you know, once a year we'll
get to enjoy the State Fairy and the two thirty
kick certainly helped, and of course we went up Thursday.
The show at Barbu was fantastic, a fantastic restaurant, a

(10:06):
great scene, a great environment, the Watch Sports special. Thanks
to Barrett and Bob for having us out. It was
a fantastic event from two to six. I know we
were all exhausted after that. Having an eleven am kickoff
the next day would have been tough. So the two
thirty two thirty kickoff was great. You know, nobody ever

(10:27):
has to ask me.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
They I would have told them this anyway before, But
then having gone back through it with the two thirty
kick I hope it never ever, ever, ever ever goes
back to eleven am. Yeah, first of all the selfish reasons. Obviously,
after we get done on the show, I do a
television show on Friday night, I don't get off the
set till after midnight, So that's one thing. I'd become

(10:49):
used to it and understand it and all that kind
of stuff. But I did appreciate having the extra time
to sleep. But even just beyond that, and you still
had the shank of the evening over. When it was over,
Linda and I and Will Matthews walked down through the midway.
Will like Sark had never had a Fletcher's corny dog
before ever, so we had to get him one, and

(11:12):
we did, and we did a little social media post
on little Instagram post on that thing and where I said,
it's better than a Victory cigar after winter oaklhom it
was fabulous. I'll tell you something else that that I'd
forgotten how good it is.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
Just get a lemonade there. It's one of the best
lemonade too. Gain.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
Yeah, it's really good. So we did that and then
drove back to the loadtog go back to the hotel.
Linda and I were hungry. I mean I'd had the
one corn dog, that's all. I basically had the old deer.
So we went to dinner in an old school, old
family old Uh No, we did not go to Old
mill In It would have been a little too crowded
to do that. We went to an old school, old
family steakhouse that we that we had actually visited when

(11:51):
we dated the first time back in the early eighties.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
We went there.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
We had a good time and was there and we
sat in this little area back in the bar, but
had our own private booth and was able to watch
the Oregon, Ohio State game and the Ole Miss LSU
game and all that. So we had a good time
Saturday night, and then yesterday morning it's it's a way
family tradition where I had breakfast with as many of
my four kids as possible. Three of the four mate
at this time, and all four of my grandkids. We

(12:15):
went to a neat little diner that I know there
on Harry Hines called Original Market Diner, which was really cool.
So we had a good time on that and then
and then drove back after that, and then I had
a heck of a time watching the Dodgers take Game
one last night. I enjoyed that, but I know that's
going to be a long series. That thing could go
six or seven games. So we'll have Gene Watson join

(12:36):
us to talking about all that. So we hope your
weekend went off on a good start, and you can
check in with us on the text line. All you
have to do is text the word texas followed by
your questionner comment to eight one five three zero. That's
the word texas, followed by your questioner comment to eight
one five three zero. Standard messaging and data rates may apply.

(13:00):
Coming up, we'll hear from longwarts Head coach Steve Sarkisian
here on sports Radio AM thirteen under the zone of
the iHeartRadio app.
