Speaker 1 (00:00):
Where would you say is the best city? Now, this
could be two different questions. The best city to host
a super Bowl? The best venue to host a super Bowl?

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Ooh, well, have you not been to a super Bowl?
Maybe the worst person to ask this question. Venue, I mean,
so far seems really nice. Allegiance seems really nice. In
terms of the city, I've heard Glendale a lot of
good things from people go to Glendale. As you know,
it's usually the same week as the waste management open
in Phoenix and they go from that, and the weather

(00:35):
is usually pretty warm. I would say somewhere either in
California or in Miami.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Party you're leaving that a big one. It's where it
is this year?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Atlanta? Where's it that this year?

Speaker 1 (00:46):
I think it's in New Orleans this year, isn't it? Yeah?
It's in New Orleans. Great city, But the venue not
so much. I mean, the Superdome has been through you know,
some refersion, It survived Katrina and all that other kind
of stuff. But Mercedes Benz Stadium, which is the home
the Atlanta Falcons, which has hosted a super Bowl, which

(01:06):
will host the SEC Championship, which will host a Peach Bowl,
and we'll host a national championship in college football. In fact,
there are people that say, if things fall the right
way for the Texas Longhorns, they could wind up playing
at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta three times in a month.
It could happen SEC Championship, then they could wind up

(01:29):
playing in It'd probably be really about six weeks, then
in the Peach Bowl in the quarterfinal, and then in
the National Championship. That's if everything falls right and they
continue to play well and so on and so forth.
The reason why I bring this up, the Super Bowl
is going to return to Atlanta in twenty twenty eight.
You heard Jerry Jones earlier today in the two o'clock

(01:49):
hour talk about if you want to stand in airwalk
in air with these other thirty two. He was talking
about they're at the NFL owners meetings, the fall meetings
that are going on in Atlanta, And can you imagine
Jerry having to walk into those meetings some of those
owners that are friends of his and could give him
some grief one.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Oh, for sure.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
And you guys suck, he stink. Jerry? What's going well?
It is? And you mentioned you don't fly on the
wall and some of that anyway, while in Atlanta, they
did vote to return the Super Bowl to Atlanta in
twenty twenty eight. That's where the Patriots beat the Rams
in twenty nineteenth. Four time championship game has been playing

(02:30):
Atlanta vers twice at the Old Georgia Dome as well.
First two Super Bowls held in Atlanta were in nineteen
ninety four and then in two thousand. New Orleans does
host the game following this season, then it goes to
California for two years Santa Clara and in twenty twenty six,
and back to Los Angeles in twenty twenty seven. So

(02:52):
it'll be there on all of that, So anyway, that'll
be the case there, Roger Goodell said. Renowned for its
hospitality and rich sports and entertainment culture, Atlanta's a world
class destination and natural fit for Super Bowl sixty two
will be Super Bowl sixty two. What's the first Super

(03:12):
Bowl you remember watching?

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Panthers Patriots?

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Okay, lord, what was that? Super Bowl thirty eight? Oh four? Right? Yeah,
I think it was thirty eight. I think it was.
I think it was Super Bowl thirty eight. Panthers Patriots
in Houston. That way for a Super Bowl wasn't that?
Was that the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction? Or was that

(03:38):
the Eagles Patriots?

Speaker 2 (03:40):
That I do not know, Okay, I don't think my mom,
let me watch the halftime show.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
That one the thing I remember we had it on
and Haley and Andy were pretty young at the time,
they were preteen. And when that happened with Janet Jackson
and justin Timberlake, where can that Hayley comes walking down
the bedroominsters, Mom, Janet Jackson's boob fell out, like great,

(04:08):
that's that's awful, And so yeah, that was so that
And again what you just mentioned just makes me feel old.
The first Super Bowl I really truly remember was Super
Bowl three Jets Colts, and I know because my brothers
told me about the Packers winning the first two, but
it didn't really I was six and seven years old
at the time, so I didn't really pay much attention.

(04:29):
It was eight years old. I remember my dad telling
me what a great quarterback Joe Namath was, and he
made this friendly bet with my uncle, who had lived
in Baltimore was a big Colts fan, and my dad
took the Jets because he said, I think Joe Namath
is going to show the world we can do. So
my dad wasn't always one of the best at doing that,
but he could kind of he could kind of figure

(04:51):
it out from by the time, and he really did
like Joe Namath anyway. So it'll it'll do with that now.
One other note, it did happen that in the aftermath
of the Jets losing to the Bills last night, they
made a big trade today to get DeVante Adams from

(05:12):
the Raiders. So the Raiders get a conditional third round
pick in the draft. It could improve to a second
round selection if Adams his first or second team All
Pro this season or is on the Jets active roster
for the AFC Championship or Super Bowl. DeVante Adams took
a red eye flight to New Jersey very early this morning.

(05:34):
The deal was basically in place. He took a physical
to finalize the trade. So there's another target for Aaron
Rodgers to.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Try to find another one of his buddies, you know
people he always talks about that. I don't really have
that much of an influence in the front office, the
entire Jets organization, coaching staff, players, how many of them
has he played with?

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Here?

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Another one In course, Fontan Adams is a good player.
It's not like he's going out and getting Randall Cobb here.
He is still even at thirty two years old, He's
coming off his fourth straight one thousand yard season. But
how much does Avante Adams have up in the tank
and will it be enough to turn the Jets season around?
But between Sala and the Adams trades and all this,

(06:18):
you know Aaron Rodgers is making an impact in New York.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
All right, we'll be back to wrap up today's edition
