Speaker 1 (00:00):
As we continue here on sports Radio AM thirteen hunderds,
I wanted to hear some more from logwrn's head coach,
Decarcasian from that SEC teleconference. That's where they get all
the They get all of the coaches on every week
and they run through all of the different things the

(00:22):
questions that they that they get from media, not only
from their own area, but national as well. This would
definitely be more from the local perspective, you know, after
fielding questions about preparing his program for the transition into
the Southeastern Conference and you know, Kirby Smart and measuring

(00:46):
sticks and all that sort of stuff. Simple question for
Sart the game is Saturday night. We know what's going
on in town this week. Gigantic football game, gigantic car race.
You got the F one Grand Prix come up on Sunday.
Sark was asked, are you going to the F one race?

Speaker 2 (01:02):
I would love to go to Formula one.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Unfortunately, We've got another game next Saturday that I've got
to prepare for. But you know, this AUS season, I
got a chance to go to the NASCAR race there
and it was it was awesome, and so I can
only imagine what the Formula One is like and the
speed of those cars.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
But no, unfortunate I won't be able to make that
a little busy, a little busy this time of year.
I think that's that's going on.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Now, back to talking about the football matchup with the
Georgia Bulldogs. Well, if you missed it, in the first
hour of the program, we visited with Scott Howard, the
Bulldogs play by play voice, and asked him about Carson
Beck and asked him to describe the season. He goes,
pretty solid, pretty solid, but not you know, over the top,

(01:50):
superstar stuff. He's got five interceptions this year, is completing
sixty eight percent of his passes. That's pretty good, and
he's thrown for over eighteen hundred yards. And he did
point out that of those interceptions, some have been tip
passes and things like that.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Now, the one that's going to stand out is the.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
One at the end of the Alabama game when they
were driving with a chance to win that game after everything,
and then come all the way back from way down
to take the lead, only to give it back up
and then come back with.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
A chance, but there was a late interception.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
But he thought that that back overall was performing pretty well. Well,
Sark was asked the same thing, or ly similarly, what
has he seen from the Georgia offense and from their
quarterback Carson back this season.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Yeah, I think that they've you know, coach Bobo has
been a great offensive mine for for quite some time.
And you know, watching the growth of Carson, you know
that the thing that that stands out, you know, we
all have to evolve every year, and I think for
Georgia they had to evolve, you know, when you lose
kind of the caliber of players they lost off of

(02:55):
last year's you know, last couple of years teams, you know,
most notably Brock Powers and so much of the offense
was kind of centered around him. It's almost like they
had to reinvent themselves a bit. And these these wide
receivers have been, you know, big playmakers. You know, the
tight end Delpe has been a big playmaker. But the
thing I appreciate is they've got all the offense. And

(03:15):
that's probably my biggest thing in watching them is they've
got every screen like we do, they use multiple you know.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Motions and shifts and formations.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
They've got a physical, downhill running game, and then off
of that, they've got all the play action pass stuff
where they can throw it over your head. And like
I said earlier in the week, Carson has the ability
to do all of that.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
You know.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
I think he threw a touchdown pass the other day.
I think the ball is in there sixty two or
sixty four yards, you know. So he's got big time
arm twnle, he's got great pocket presence. But yet, as
you're trying to defend all that down the field, you
still have to worry about the advantage throws the receiver, screens,
the things of that nature where they can get completions
and move the ball down the field.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Okay, so that's a question about the Georgia offense. Now,
both Sark and Kirby Smart addressed questions as you would
imagine in the weekly news conferences, regarding both sides of
the football. How their offense is matched up against the
opposing defenses, how the defense is matched up against their offense,

(04:18):
and so on and so forth. How his defense matches
up against the Georgia offense, which is similar to what
he was just talking about.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
But what about his adjustments?

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Has he adjusted his use of tempo because the way
that Texas can get things going up and down the field,
and this was a technology question. Remember this is a
year where for the first time, tablet usage is being
employed on sidelines and Sark has been, you know, really

(04:51):
in favor of it.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
He's talked about it, how much he's been in favor.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
But he was asked, has he had to adjust his
usage of tempo based on defense is now being able
to use tablets on the sideline.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
No.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
I mean, we've always kind of dabbled in the tempo world.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
You know, there was a time.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
In my career when I was at Washington, the end
of my tenure at Washington and at my time at
USC where we were a true tempo team.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
We went as fast as we could go, and then
we kind.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Of evolved out of that, especially when I went to
the NFL with the Falcons, and then you know, since
I've been back in college, you know, we dabble in
the temple world, but that's not something that we that.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
We major in, and you know, I don't I don't know.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
I tend not to overthink stuff like that. You know,
I believe in our execution and what we need to do.
We're definitely not not a huge kind of static formation team.
Even when we use tempo a lot of times, there's
motions involved in different things. So, but that's just kind
of who we are as an offense. It's not so

(05:58):
much to try to gain an advantage on the defense.
As far as you know, will they will, they recognize
what we're doing. That's just kind of how we install
our offense and the way we go about our business.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Interesting stuff there, thoughts from sark.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Now.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
We're going to hear more from Steve Sarcasian tomorrow as
it comes your way from his media Zoo. His final
weekly opportunity
