Speaker 1 (00:00):
My name is Craig Way. Glad to have you with us,
and us includes, of course, the producer of this program.
He hails from Charlotte, North Carolina, but his name Cameron D. Parker.
The D in the birth certificate stands for Dallas, as
in the name of his favorite NFL team that he
steadfastly refuses to watch because he's thoroughly disgusted with him.

(00:22):
But it was his father who named in that, and
yet his father's also disgusted by it at all. This way,
he isn't completely sworn off watching them like you have live,
has he? He's pretty close, is he.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
I'm not sure if he'll watch this week's game against
San Francisco.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Yeah, he depends on his work schedule.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
But yeah, I think he's also just as disgusted with
them as I am.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Okay, And that's why we'd like to have fun with
Cam on this because you know, when you're that disgusted
with the Dallas Cowboys, at the top of your discuss
list with that organization has to be the man at
the top of the organization, right, of course it would
be Jerry Jones number one. Yeah, So Jerry Jones, the

(01:03):
owner of the president of the GM the chief cook
and bottle washer, all of that kind of stuff for
the Cowboys. Well, Jerry of Lake has become a rather
entertaining subject. He always kind of has been anyway as lotstuff,
but he really has of late last week after that
just real uninspiring effort and being blown out by the Lions,

(01:27):
he kind of blew up at his weekly radio host.
He does a segment. He doesn't do like a whole
hour thing like he did. I count myself fortunate in
having hosted his show for a couple of years during
the Super Bowl thing and the conversations were golden. Well
they've gotten even more golden since. And he does a
segment every week one O five three the Fan in
Dallas for Worth, the Cowboys flagship station, does it with RJ.

(01:51):
Choppy and Shawn Sheriff and there's somebody else. There's a
third person. I can't remember, it was three guys he's
usually on with up there, because I was on with
him the other day preview in the Georgia game. But anyway,
he got a little irritated last week with him kind
of got in their face a little bit and later
told an interviewer that if he has to replace him,

(02:13):
he would replay or something like that if he needed
to or something like that. Well, he obviously hadn't done that,
and he continued to do the radio show, and so
he did something this morning, and there were some more
Jerry Jones gems. So we're going to bring those to
you as well. We'll obviously talk more college football Texas

(02:35):
and Vanderbilt this week. Our man, our colleague, our sideline reporter,
Will Matthews gets an opportunity to spend some time with
the players and he sits down with different ones. So
we've got a few of those conversations that will bring
to you this afternoon. This is also what we like
to call it Texas Tuesday, where we talk about Texas
to talk about the long Horns, but also we talk

(02:57):
about college football in the state of Texas and high
school football in the state of Texas. Toward that end,
Greg Tapper, the managing editor of Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine,
joins us in the three o'clock hour each Tuesday to
discuss football on those levels in the lone Star state.
So we'll do that as well, so we get a
lot of things good we have inconceivable coming up a
little bit later on this hour, so we have all

(03:19):
of those things that'll be going down. Did you watch
the Monday night football kind of double header doubleheader if
you had ESPN Plus, which I know you do not
everybody that I have a brother and who lives in
Fort Worth who doesn't have it. So he was counting
on me for updates on Chargers Cardinals because he likes
the Chargers, so I was kind of updated. I sent

(03:40):
him a picture of it. It's a very colorful game
to night. But the Cardinals wearing that all black, the
black jersey, the black helmet with the red bird head
on the side and the red numerals, and then the
Chargers had the white helmets and the white jerseys with
the powder blue numerals and the bright yellow pants as well.
It's colorful game, colorful to watch. Not colorful in the

(04:03):
way it was contested. It was one of the more dull,
uninteresting games in terms of The Chargers got five field
goals and was almost enough to win the game until
the Cardinals got down the field late and won on
a walk off field goals seventeen to fifteen. But it
wasn't much on the other side. He had the Ravens
and the Box and it was really built as being

(04:26):
real high scoring and it was for Baltimore. And then
later I guess the Bucks ended up scoring what late
in the game got it to within forty one thirty one,
but that was as close as they were going to
get once the Ravens took command of that game in
the second or so. Did you get a chance to
watch these games? I did.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
I got a little pick a ball in last night,
had a head up on my phone and they had
like a big screen TV of the Ravens Bucks game,
and then I forgot the Manning cast was on. So
when I got on, I put on the Manning cast
in time for Scott Hansen.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
How about his TV setup? Man, that's the man Cave.
Yeah to have. There was a golden moment in it
where he did like a red zone update of the
other game going on. It was really funny and it
made a lot of people laugh, and I said, there
were a lot of social media things about it. He
did it, that was that was pretty cool. Then he
wanted to do one later and he was basically telling

(05:15):
games kind of boring. Nothing's really happening there still seven
to six, it was kind of and then Joe Flaccowan
was quite entertaining, yeah with them, So there was there
was a Bill Belichick, of course did the first half.
Ed Reid was on there, and Ed appeared as if

(05:37):
to give the indication that he was not about to
let a football game get in the way of having
a nice time. He was just kind of chilling.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
So it was just hanging out. Yeah, But it was
a good night for Texas kickers, with Justin Tucker two
for two at that fifty two yardering, Cameron Dicker scoring.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Oh the nine yarder, which which tied what Michael Bagley
for the Charger record for longest.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Field But for him, I know, I think he had
like twenty one Fantasy points and you.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Know he did he did. In mind, he was my
backup kicker. I had Tyler Basket when he didn't get
that many. But they didn't need to thank goodness for
Lamar Jackson. Jeesh, Lamar Jackson's the reason I'm now five
and two. It's because of Lamar Jackson. He gave me
thirty nine points and Baker I think had thirty two. Yeah,
and he would have had more of not for the
two interceptions. Yeah, and Oh, by the way, I couldn't

(06:29):
even enjoy the full evening without having a casualty Chris Godwin. Yeah, real, sad, Craig.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
He's one of the best receivers in the league when
he stays healthy, even with Baker throwing to him. He's
such a fun player to watch him and Mike Evans
that tandem and another season ending injury for him, which
just really sucks. And Mike Evans too, you know, once
again reinjuring that hamstring on what could have been a
touchdown reception for him. So the Buccaneers go from four

(06:56):
and two now to four and three, and they're receiving
unit is completely wiped out. They're gonna have to rely
a lot on Stirling Shepherd, who of course played with
Baker Oklahoma, who is on practice squads to start this year,
and now he's going to be in the receiver one
receiver too. So bad news for Tampa Bay and the
NFC salth just looks it's gross, especially with hew Atlanta

(07:20):
got killed by Seattle and the Saints looked disgusting and well,
you know, Carolina is Carolina.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
It's one in a sex. We're good there. Yeah, all right,
So anyway, we've we've got those things on tap and more,
and as always we invite you to, you know, invade
our personal space with your input. We have a text
Laune available and all you have to do is text

(07:49):
the word Texas follow by your question or comment to
eight one five three zero. So just supply your question
comment to eight one five three zero. Stand messaging and
data rates may apply, and you can just let us
know if you've got a question about something, if you've
got some things you want, something else you feel you
need to get off your chest, that's fine too. So

(08:11):
we're glad to take that and to go with that forward.
Yesterday we had questions about what happened on the pass
interference that was then reversed, and it happened in the
middle of all the debris being thrown on the field
and all that other stuff, and we addressed that, and

(08:31):
I got into some detail about what I was told
from the officials about why they went over there before
adjudicating the fact that there was not a defensive pass
interference call in fact a penalty, and in fact it
should have been offensive pass interference. So anyway, we talked
about all that, and there's a lot more we'll get

(08:53):
to on all of that.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
And if you missed it, the whole clip is posted
on our YouTube page AM thirteen of the Zone, the
full breakdown from Craig Way, which I highly recommend watching.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Okay, all right, it's got that there, all right. Up next,
we highly recommend you tune in and listen to hear
what Jerry Jones had to say today. We'll get to
that coming up on sports Radio AM thirteen under the
Zone and the iHeartRadio app.
