Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good after it.

Speaker 2 (00:00):
Everybody, welcome to a Thursday addition of the program here
on Sports Radio AM thirteen under the Zone.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
My name is Craig Way. I do thank you very
much for joining us.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
And us of course, also applies to the producer of
this program, and that would be Cameron D.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
Parker. The D on the birth certificate.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Stands for Dallas as in his favorite NFL team. I
say favorite because I almost have to say a tongue
in cheek because he refuses to watch him because he's
been so discussed with such a conflicted world you have
on that where it's you know, your heart's desire team

(00:40):
and you can't bring yourself to watch them because you're
so angry with them for being not good or only
good enough to break your heart on a regular basis, and.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
You're just tired of having your heart broken on a
regular basis. Is that how I'm reading this. There's no
confliction at all, Craig. I'm enjoying life right now. I'm
able to enjoy myself Thursday's Mondays whenever they play. Don't
really care when they play. You know, I have my
Carolina Panther friends who are living and dying with Andy
Dalton springing his thumb in a car accident. It means
Bryce Young is back. Bryce Young coming back. You know,

(01:13):
their mental health is in the gutter. I'm chilling, man,
I'm chilling. I'm enjoying life. You know, we got the
number five team in the country right now in Texas football,
we got basketball coming back, the sun and out.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
It's a great time to be alive.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Right Well, I mean, what would happen to you if
like the Oklahoma City Thunder started, you know, just cratering
like the Cowboys and had bad ownership, And well, we
have Sam Presty, who I think is the best gym
in in basketball.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
He's good.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Dallas Cowboys have Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones, and Jerry's
more consumed with trying to figure out how they charge
ninety dollars for his tour AI tour at the Star
firstus trying to figure out why the Dallas Cowboys had
the worst rushing offense in the National Football League.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
But you can we talked about this yesterday on the show.
You can spend ninety dollars for a tour of the
Star in Frisco where you actually have an AI experience
with the AI Jerry.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Or you can just throw your money into the trash can.
It's forty dollars for the basic tour.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
I think it's what seventy dollars to get that that
VIP package where you would get the letter of authentach
authentication as a Cowboys fan from Jerry, so you can
put that in a frame, use it as a toilet paper.
And then the ninety dollars with the AI where you
get to ask Jerry question. You could ask Ai, Jerry,
why didn't you go after Derrek Henry and he can

(02:40):
say I'm not gonna hypathetical with you could do that
being tried. Yeah, that's right. So anyway, Okay, I get it,
I understand, I understand, and you're just kind of sailing along.
It's gonna be a weird re indoctrination for you. If
the Cowboys get good, though.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
It's not looking good. It's not looking good. Well, that's true.
We'll see how they do this weekend in San Francisco.
There is Thursday night football tonight. The team I have
so unfortunately, you know, shackled to the Los Angeles Rans
to play the Minnesota Vikings.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
So we'll see.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
We're not treating Matt Stafford and Cooper Cup as of
two o four pm Central Time.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
I'm happy about that. I'm happy about ye.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
That would be all on talk about gutting the team.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
If you do that, yeah, fall on rebuild.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Then you know, does that means Seann mcfay is going
to go somewhere else because I don't think he wants
to sit.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Through a right rebuild, a total rebuild as well.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
So anyway they play tonight, it's a big high school
game tonight, vist Ridge and Mayne are playing, and Roger
Wallace and Keith Morland calling that along with Noah Gross
and that's on kbv O.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
That's their big game of the week because there could.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Be all kinds of chaos for playoff spots in twenty
five six A if Maynor were to pull the surprise,
uh and they've been tie breakers, get in all that
kind of stuff. If Vista wins, though, it's it's they
are all but in the playoffs. In fact, they could
even clinch a playoff spot if Vista Ridge wins tonight
and then if say Westwood were to lose tomorrow, then

(04:14):
then then I think they would be in because they
would have an insurmountable lead before even having played Westwood
and the Old the Tiebreakers on McNeil and see the Ridge,
and would on Manor and Stony Point.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Nice to have with three weeks ago in the season. Yeah,
if you're spotlight, Yeah if if it happens that way.
But but Mayner has shown some spunk and fight in
some games, so we'll see how that goes. So there's
a big game that there's NBA tonight toward that in
the Spurs open their season in Dallas against the Mavericks.
Bill Shooning, our good friend, my longtime broadcast partner and

(04:49):
co host of the program here will join us coming
up in a few minutes to talk about this this
wemb two point zero version of the Spurs, and that
includes Chris Paul.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
So we'll visit with Bill Shooning. He'll join us from Dallas,
coming up in a few minutes. So the first full
lawn evening of NBA action took place last night after
the Tuesday night games of Lakers, timber.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Wolves and.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
The Celtics and the nick So there was a full variety.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
I mean, you don't have the NBA.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
League Pass yet, right, did not, but you know, ESPNTO
two games going on. I was following through Twitter on
the other games and got to see the Suns Clippers
and Katie knocking down Man such a tough jumper to
tie it up and sent it in the overtime where
they pulled it out, and it was cool seeing the endo.
It don't Greg, I don't know if you saw it.
Early fourth quarter, Katie had had two shots of the

(05:48):
pre throw line in that new like wall behind behind
the basket, you know, and they were going crazy. And Katie,
who was a good three throw shooter, you know, he's
part of the fifty to forty ninety club. Him and
Larry bird A one time in his career, missed both
and he said postgame, you know, yeah, it's crazy. It's
gonna give a lot of opposing team trouble. It's cool

(06:09):
to see a professional basketball team because you know, let's
see it with new basketball arenas like Moody where you know,
they're the sign for for college basketball and other things.
But most professional new stadiums, right, Craig, they're they're just
signed as entertainment venues. That's correct, because the stadium, Yeah,
so far allegiate, those aren't, you know? They don't really

(06:29):
scream out home field advantage, but Steve Balmer obviously into it.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Dome is gonna, you know, have concerts.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
But he also made it so it's going to create
a home court advantage, and I like seeing that from
an NBA team.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
He looked he viewed that as being the next piece
to try to get the Clippers over the top. Also
this morning, Steve Sarkishan had his weekly Thursday media Zoom session.
That's the final media avail with Sark and we'll hear
comments from that. Of course, we had long worn weekly
with coach sark. Last night out at Pluckers, we recorded

(07:02):
that show. It will air tonight at seven o'clock here
on the Zone. It will be preceded by a live
Longhorn Weekly Show from Pluckers, a basketball preview show. Rodney
Terry will join us Longhorn's head coach, Rodney Terry, and
we'll look forward to bringing you that show coming up
tonight at six o'clock live from Pluckers to the West

(07:24):
Campus at twenty two to twenty two Rio Grand All right,
up next we chat with Bill Schoning Tuk Spurs and
then some more football conversation coming up.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
We have inconceivable this hour as well. Stay with us.
